Ritsu Sakuma x Reader ♡ Tags: Fluff, established relationship, casual romance, really wholesome, INTRO IS REALLY LONG, SORRY!, she/her pronouns ♡ Word count: 2,215 ♡ Synopsis: Inspired by the Meowsketeers scout story in which this card is featured in. I've been trying to read the scout stories since I never read them, and I thought that this one would be cute to add the reader in! Please note that this fic does not stay true to the story, but it has taken bits from it. A/N: There needs to be more Ritsu x reader fics.

Drenched in sweat, Ritsu slowly woke up from his nap in the ES gardens. His mind was still filled with thoughts of what happened the other day when Tsukasa confronted and withdrew some of the new members of Knights.

Ritsu pitied them, but what was said was the mere truth. That's the way Knights operated, it was never a unit to have fun with as an idol. But seeing those tearful faces did take a toll on him.

At that moment, Ritsu felt something heavy weighing on him. It wasn't what happened that day, but something physical that he could feel near his stomach.

'Who is it? Am I being attacked? It's not those pranks Tsukipi set up, right?' he thought tiredly. Unless it's (Y/N)...? No... she said she'd be busy today–

Ritsu was getting annoyed. "Hold on. You don't disturb people when they're sleeping!" he groaned. "Now I'm in a bad mood... Don't mess with me– Huh?"

Eyes wide open, Ritsu found that on his stomach was a black cat.

"Ugh, so it was this guy!" he fumed. "Get off! You're heavy and it's too hot...!"

Yet the cat wouldn't budge. It stayed lying on Ritsu's stomach as if he were a pillow. Ritsu wasn't having any of it though, no one dares disturb his sleep even if they were a cat! Getting angrier by the second, he decided to fight it off him.

"Hey! Ow! Don't dig your claws in me!"

"That Suo, he's late!" exclaimed Leo. "What a troublesome guy! I came early today since he gets angry at me when I come late."

"Unbelievable! He's wasting my precious time!" Izumi chided. "This is so annoying. Did your wanderlust infect Kasa-kun?"

Leo laughed. "Eh? What, what? Wahaha, that's funny, Sena! I suppose it's fate that Knights' leader is to be cursed by wanderlust!"

Frantic footsteps could be heard as Tsukasa barged into the studio panting. He apologised, mentioning to his seniors that he got involved in a little incident with Ritsu. That was when Ritsu entered the room, still arguing with the black cat he encountered outside.

"I told you to let go of me, didn't I?! Why can't you understand me, you stupid cat?!" Ritsu growled. "Do my clothes smell like catnip or something...?"

"A stray cat got attached to Ritsu-senpai and it won't let go of him," stated Tsukasa.

"Unbelievable. This was why you were late?" said Izumi. "There's got to be some way to pull it off. Just grab it by the neck like how a parent cat carries a kitchen– Owah! This guy tried to scratch me! If you were human, I'd have you pay compensation!"

Arashi suggested that they all calm down and get started on the retrospective – the reason why they were holding a meeting in the first place. If they ignore the cat, perhaps it would let Ritsu go!

But as Arashi started playing the video of their live, Leo noticed something. In the video, Leo pointed out the front row seats where beside a fan's feet, a black cat was seen.

"This guy, it saw Ritsu at Knights' live and came to meet him!" said Leo excitedly.

"Hah...? No way! That sounds so unrealistic," Ritsu replied before turning to the cat which started showing him affection. "Owah, what? Don't start licking my cheek!"

"Given its reaction, it probably did come to meet Knights," said Tsukasa. "Isn't it just the cutest? It probably fell in love with Ritsu-senpai's brave figure at the live!"

"What?! Don't say things so nonchalantly!"

But the other members of Knights had agreed to let the cat do what it wanted despite Ritsu's comments on how much of a disaster this was.

The cat didn't let go of him even during the retrospective. It lay sound asleep on Ritsu's lap. Knights had come up with a name for the cat too, 'd'Artagnyan', their 'newest knight that was drawn in by Knights.'

Ritsu didn't like this idea at all. He didn't see any resemblance between him and the cat that his fellow members were constantly pointing out too. Though, he didn't want to just kick it out. He wanted it to leave on its own volition.

"It clings to you like how you cling onto (Y/N)," stated Arashi causing Ritsu to erupt into a steam of embarrassment. "Maybe it finds your scent comforting~? If so, it might be satisfied with something that has Ritsu-chan's scent on it..."

"Something with my scent?" Ritsu repeated. "Ah, I just came to an unpleasant conclusion..."

He was talking about his favourite blanket – the only thing in this studio that had his scent on it. But there was no way that Ritsu wanted to give this unlucky cat his favourite blanket!

"Ah, wait! Don't suddenly pounce for my blanket, you idiot cat!" huffed Ritsu as he tried to yank the blanket away. He was now on the floor fighting with the cat. "Give it back! I don't want such an unlucky cat to use my blanket! Guys, please help me out here!"

"Oi, oi. There's no need to get so worked up over something like this, right, Ritsu?" said Leo. "I know it's annoying, but it'll be dangerous if you get violent in here, no?"

"But I really like this blanket! I won't allow it to use it! Ah, don't scratch it–"

"Please calm down, Ritsu-senpai...!" sputtered Tsukasa.

But before Izumi could assert himself to scold Ritsu, you had rushed into the studio. Arashi had texted you about the situation before they started their retrospective, hoping that you'd come to solve the issue at hand. After all, you solved a lot of their problems before, it became customary to ask you for help.

"Ritsu, are you okay?" you asked worriedly, bending down. "Hey, what's wrong? You're not usually like this."

"(Y-Y/N)?!" Ritsu blurted, perplexed at your sudden appearance. "W-What are you doing here?"

You answered that even though you were busy with your own assignments today, you couldn't just ignore what was happening with Knights, with him.

"Is this what's bothering you?" You tried picking up the cat, but it immediately started hissing at you. "Ah! Okay, I'm not going to pick you up then...! Anyway, Arashi texted me all the details already. Why don't you just give up the blanket, Ritsu?"

"N-No!" he cried. "I can't!"

"I don't understand why you like that blanket so much," said Izumi. "I'll buy you a new one if that makes you happy–"

"That's not it! (Y/N) bought me this one!"

Everyone had gone silent over that fact.

"Then I'll buy you a new one," you offered.

"No!" Ritsu protested. "You got this for me when we were first years! I can't just let that go!"

Ritsu usually wasn't this worked up, so you knew he was upset about something other than his blanket. But you also knew that he was a very sentimental person too, so you couldn't just force him to give up something that he truly loved. It was sweet that he had kept this blanket up until now though. It showed how much he loved you.

"I have an idea," you suddenly said. You rummaged through your bag and pulled out a white sweater. "This also has Ritsu's scent on it."

"Wait," Ritsu began. "That's my sweater."

"Mhm, my favourite one too!" you giggled. "If we give the cat this, then it'll give up on the blanket!"

"B-But (Y/N), you love that sweater...!" he said.

"I do, but you love that blanket too, right? I'll give this up so you can have your blanket back!"

With how selfless and thoughtful you were being, Ritsu had finally cooled down.

"N-No, it's fine," he said sadly. "I'll let it keep the blanket, you keep the sweater, okay? I'm sorry, everyone, I went overboard. I didn't mean to hurt anyone."

"Ritsu..."

He picked up his blanket with the cat still attached to it and left the building quietly. The meeting with Knights had come to an end. You sighed, apologised and thanked Knights for putting up with your boyfriend before following after him.

Ritsu was situated on one of the tables at the ES gardens, his head laid on his arms as he watched the black cat sleep in his blanket.

"It's my fault that Knights ended up fighting again... If only this cat hadn't been there. No, I should've been calmer..." he murmured. "It would've been better if I had analysed the situation calmly like I usually do, and brought it to a positive conclusion..."

"Ritsu~" you called out.

With the sound of your voice, his eyes immediately gravitated towards you. He didn't lift his head though, he was too tired for that.

"(Y/N)..."

"Here," you said, pressing a cold can of soda to his cheek. He cried at the coldness but quickly covered his mouth from being too loud. He didn't want to wake up the cat despite how annoying it was today.

"Ah, thank you..." he said, taking the can from you. He laid it in front of him, not opening it. "(Y/N), I'm really sorry about earlier. You were busy, and Nacchan had to call you over to deal with something so small."

"Eh, it's okay~," you said. From behind, you wrapped your arms around his neck, holding him close to you. "I'm nearly finished with my assignments anyway. But Ritsu, are you really okay?"

Ritsu strained a smile, but he held your arm in a way to comfort himself. "I'm fine now. I'm going to sit here and reflect on my actions until this stupid cat wakes up. If I ignored the cat in the studio and it gets restless, it might be even more troublesome."

You laughed. "It's so cute when it's sleeping. It reminds me of you."

"Eeehhh? Why does everyone keep saying that?" he asked.

"Well, it's cute and you're cute! Also, it takes naps just like you, hehe~"

Ritsu sighed but laughed along. "Ah, you're wearing the sweater," he said, finally noticing the baggy look on you.

"Yep! I'm glad I didn't need to give it up in the end, but I do feel sad that you had to give your favourite blanket away," you said.

"It's fine. Maybe it'll let it go later..." he started. "Well, I hope it does anyway. I really do like that blanket..."

He chuckled, reminiscing the time you first got him the blanket. The two of you met just before entering Yumenosaki. You were Mao's friend initially, but he had introduced you to Ritsu during the time he had to repeat his first year. Ritsu had treated you coldly at first, but when you spotted him sleeping in the gardens, coming to know of his illness, you had decided to gift him a blanket for him to use.

It was a blanket you had bought at a shop in town, nothing special, but Ritsu thought the world of it. Even when he treated you so poorly, you were still so nice to him – to accommodate him in this way. He grew fond of the blanket, but he mostly grew fond of you.

After that day, he stuck to you just like the cat he was watching now.

"You know, I'm surprised it's still kept in good condition after all these years," you pointed out. "We're in our third year now... and it still looks brand new."

"I take good care of my things, (Y/N)~," he said. "And I'll be keeping that blanket for as long as I can."

You smiled and gave him a peck on the back of his head. "Anyway, aren't you going to tell me what got you so riled up? It can't just be because of the cat, right?"

"Ah, right..." he said. He opened the can that you gave him and began to drink the contents of it. "So, this is what happened..."

He explained everything to you, recalling what happened that day when they had to withdraw some of the new Knights members. He was honest with his feelings, how bad he felt when he saw those tearful faces, how bad he felt when he knew that those dreams were being crushed.

But after some reassurance from you, Ritsu felt a lot better. That's when Tsukasa showed up to check up on him too. A suggestion of finding foster parents for the cat was brought up which Ritsu agreed to.

By time, he grew fond of the cat albeit he still wanted it gone. But things had resolved themselves, and Ritsu was back to his calm, analytical self again.

You had come to say goodbye to the cat, d'Artagnyan, too. This time, it had let you hold it.

"Hehe, it really does remind me of you," you told Ritsu who immediately turned red. "Don't miss Ritsu too much, you hear me~? I hope you live a comfortable life."

Watching you be so gentle with the cat like that had Ritsu feeling some sort of way. He smiled gently to himself, appreciating that you were there with him, that you were there to console him and to listen to every word he had to say. There was nothing better in this world – even his favourite blanket – that would compare to you.

enstars is an interesting case in the department of how it handles transfemininity in a lot of ways, but especially in contrast between the first and second games.

es! releases in 2015, and starts early in the school year. these are highschool students in 2015 being both transphobic and misogynistic separately and also together to arashi (and anzu), functioning as the game chastising arashi in this early stage by shutting down her attempts at being seen as a woman but also as the characters being... highschoolers in 2015, seen clearly in the way that as the game/timeline progresses, the characters who were rude to her treat her better and more appropriately, and even apologize for their actions & fix the way they talk to and about her. this also functions as a way for the game to gradually handle trans issues more progressively than at launch (though, unfortunately, because of being a mobage with essentially a year-long story, it has to go back and fill in the timeline at times.)

then it introduces shu (2016), who is openly and obviously more intentionally feminine than any of the other "male" characters, has a part that is represented and often speaks through an extremely feminine doll (shu's own stated gender goals), and the writers gave her the trait of being especially fond of the first years/nazuna (because they have a young androgyny/femininity that puberty took from her) which was taken very badly by en fandom at the time and exacerbated in translation in ways that made her seem a lot more creepy than she actually was, though often the game treated the idea as though it was possible through nazuna's reactions, and, while when she eventually addresses wishing she was more feminine and talks about how puberty ruined her life it isn't demonized or punished in the text like arashi's wishes were, she still exists in a very murky grey area where nothing gender-wise is confirmed in the way arashi's is.

but this means in es!! (2020 jp/2022 en), when the official en tl is removing arashi's pronouns entirely and rewriting all instances of her expressing her thoughts about her gender, including explicit lack of comfort with being called masculine and disliking being shunted into male roles, shu is less punished for her femininity in the game because she exists in that grey space where she isn't canonized as a trans woman, still functionally uses he/him, is still referred to as a man by fandom, etc. even in being compared to her clearly transfeminine grandmother, the grandmother is referred to as a grandfather ingame. if you look at her es!! valkyrie outfit, it has actually gotten more gender affirming than it was in es! (she canonically makes her own unit uniforms. and most of the valkyrie outfits in general)

while arashi herself has gotten no less feminine, and in ways jp es!! tackles the issues of transphobia and transmisogyny a lot more head-on, it doesn't remove the problem of an official branch of the game trying to erase this aspect of her character and leave it not only to ambiguity but obscuring it fully (this is an example, but it's far from the only one). both shu's grey area and arashi's censorship are pretty blatant examples of "men" being able to express things that are extremely gnc and complicated in regards to their gender, but they can't go so far as to actually call themself a woman - and even if they do, officially or fandom, People Will Still Insist They're A Man.

this can be expanded upon by analysing the way gender is treated in the rest of enstars. okay, transphobic teenagers in 2015. it happens. but akira has said he considers the way he writes enstars' idols more neutral, and in a lot of ways he does write them more like women (given his previous writing experience). even aside from that, there's a lot of controversial and socially important things he clearly wants to address, and does! to varying degrees of success. there's a lot of enstars characters with complicated relationships with their gender (kuro, obviously. tetora. tori. madara. adonis. nazuna. hinata. midori. should i go on?? its most of them, if not all.) and they're pretty thoughtfully addressed (past a certain point. sorry early tomoyan.), but the only character that goes far enough to strike the violent transphobic chords is the one that is canonically stated to not be a cis man: arashi, the trans woman.

additionally, mayoi on release was treated much the same as misinterpreted on-drop shu, because her initial blurb mentioned being fond of anything "young and child-like", phrased in the worst way possible. ...... incidentally, it ended up being about her lost childhood and finding comfort in younger, smaller, and cuter people because she never really got to be like that. though this isn't the only way this trauma manifests, as she also experiences intrusive thoughts about this exact thing. she has at least one story where the joke is that you Think she's being weird, but surprise! she was helping! you thought she was being gross with shinobu's ninja outfit, the way the story framed it in the first place? nope! she was just making another one to match. Don't you feel bad that you fell for our... really weird bait and switch? (hello again to every instance of nazuna hearing about something vaguely wrong happening to one of ra*bits and taking it as badly as possible, mostly towards notably more feminine characters like shu, mayoi, and izumi). you've probably already noticed mayoi is clearly exceedingly feminine in design and also in narrative role, with tatsumi calling her his wife and the mother of alkaloid. weird how that lines up!

though i do have to note this does often depend on the specific writer in charge of specific stories - akira has a better track record with a lot of the serious social issues (and, as main writer, general characterization) than, say, kinosei or yuumasu. said story with that mayoi gag, King of Thieves, was written by kinosei. not that akira is perfect - the very idea is laughable - but stories with the other writers are generally more likely to either be bland or have characterization bits people really don't like in them.

there's a lot of things about enstars i like, and there's a lot of ways it genuinely excels, but the flip-flopping of how gender is treated by the game/narrative as a whole, how it's officially erasing arashi's transfeminine identity, and has intermittently dipped back into """feminine men""" being predatory as a gag especially at the same time akira is talking about legalizing gay marriage and the lgbt community being awesome, is more than not good, its actually regressive as fuck. the ways in which it excels are actively belittled by having their progressive points pushed back on for the sake of pandering and easy money. does it mean anything to have stories about supporting the lgbt community when other content leans back on stereotypes that paint trans women as predators? does it matter that mayoi clearly has ocd when her intrusive thoughts are things the writers want her to act on? what does it mean to have stories about how troubled adonis is by colorism and racism in japan when hes showing more skin than others in every single 5* he has? and sure, its a mobage, its intended to make money. its just another example of capitalism putting profit over people, much less having stories with meaning that it can actually maintain.

#theres also something interesting to be said about nazuna being taken so obviously as having a transmasculine storyline but being the chara #used to perpetuate transmisogynist stereotypes to protect the small younger 'boys' in his unit #not even to mention the colorism+orientalism around adonis' masculinity because thats not transmisogyny and deserves its own whole post #enstars #transmisogyny #.txt #a #mine #ok i edited it and ended up talking about adonis a little anyway cuz it matters still

What bothers me is that they both went into the “State of Surrender” at the same tiME.

It’s only natural to think that Rinne-senpai and someone from CosPro Team were togethER, but they seem to prefer to act alONE.

Either a third party gained the fisherman’s profIT (1), or, against our expectations, Yuuta-kun and Ibara-kun were accompanying hIM— 

RegardlESS, as the leader I’m having trouble thinking of when to bring back Mikejima-senpAI.

MARION'S NOTES 𖦹 i made this while binge-watching the great british baking show lol. anyways this song consistently makes my "most played songs" list so here is a writing piece based on the title ... naru unfortunately does not get as much presence as i'd like but i'll most likely make a part two if you all want!! You were captivated by her beauty from the moment that you laid eyes on her.

She shone under the stage lights that illuminated her. Perhaps she truly was a star, one that lit the entire room up with just her mere presence. From the way that she carried herself with confidence & elegance, to her beautiful voice, everything about her in that moment was just...

"Stellar..." you breathed out.

"Oh?" (F/N) piped up from next to you. "Does (NAME) have a favorite unit now?"

Ignoring your friend's subtle teasing remark, you continued watching the performance from the idol unit onstage. Knights... that was their name.

According to your friend, Knights was an idol unit at Yumenosaki, the school that they attended. Although you weren't a Yumenosaki student, your friend smuggled you in (barely, with the amount of close calls that they had) to watch an idol live.

"(F/N)... just what is an idol?"

(F/N) looked at you like you killed their firstborn child. "Excuse me?!"

You shrugged, giving them a genuinely confused look. "Is it similar to how much you look up to that one basketball player?"

"Not rea— Well, kind of..." (F/N) paused, trying to formulate some comprehensible explanation for what an idol was. Sucking in a deep breath, (F/N) jumped into a long explanation.

"An idol is a performer! They shine and dazzle onstage! They perform, dance, and sing! My school has tons, they're all amazing! Ah, but more importantly—"

Your head spun with each word that came out of (F/N)'s mouth. Dazzle... shine... perform... This was...

"Strange..."

"Huh?!" (F/N) pretended to be wounded, placing a dramatic hand to their chest. "No, no, no, (NAME), you're wrong about that! While kidnappings are common at my school—"

"Kidnappings?!" you placed a hand over your mouth in shock.

"Wait, disregard that! (NAME), please forget what I saiiiiid...!"

"Okay, okay, I'll forget it...! That's still concerning though..." you mumbled the last part, although you were certain that (F/N) heard it anyways.

"As I was saying...!" (F/N) cleared their throat, clearly trying to change the subject. "These idols... they're the real deal! They're like... um... Cirque du Soleil, but with pop music and dancing!"

"...So it's nothing like Cirque du Soleil is what you're trying to say," you deadpanned.

"Um...?" You stared at your friend with an expression of half-concern and half-amusement at the sudden change in demeanor.

"Here they are...!" (F/N) pulled two paper strips out of their bag, handing one to you.

"A... ticket?"

"Yes! This is for one of Yumenosaki's veteran idol units, Knights!"

"Knights..." you echoed, reading over the ticket that (F/N) just gave you.

"This is for their next live! I can sneak you in~♪"

"What?!" you exclaimed, eyes darting from the ticket to (F/N)'s excited face. "Nonono, you're not going to do th—"

"But I am! See? It's on a weekend, so you'd be free!" (F/N) stated matter-of-factly.

You didn't even know how to respond to that one. Despite your overwhelming silence, (F/N) continued. "Besides~ you need to live a little, (NICKNAME)! You're always working hard, so why not treat yourself this once?"

You inhaled and exhaled, weighing your options.

"Well..."

Here you were, two weeks later. The idol unit Knights was wrapping up their live, although it wasn't like you noticed. Tunnel vision was one way to describe how you felt about the pretty blonde-haired girl. Smitten was another (although it wasn't like you'd admit it).

She was just so... ethereal. You didn't even know her name, but at the same time, you were absolutely enthralled by her performance. Beauty goes a long way, yes, but this girl... she seemed different.

The way she danced and sang was so confident, youthful, and graceful all at once. God, you were enamored by her.

"So? How was it?" (F/N)'s words brought you back down to earth from your inner monologues. "Did you like it~?"

You merely nodded in response. Your heart felt like it was on fire from the performance. That was the most fun that I've had in a long time, you mused to yourself.

"So..." (F/N) twiddled their thumbs, drawing out the last letter of the word. "Seems like their Arashi has caught your attention?"

"Arashi...?" you asked. Could it be that her name was Arashi?

"Yeah, the blonde-haired one! You really couldn't keep your eyes off of her~"

"Was it really that obvious?" you responded, suddenly feeling awfully flustered. If it was noticeable enough for (F/N), someone that was obsessed with dissecting Knights performances, then did that mean that this 'Arashi' noticed too...?

"Your eyes were on her the entire time, y'know? Looks like we have totally different taste, (NAME)~" (F/N) teased before launching into rambling about that 'Suou' kid, presumably the red-haired one.

Knights... what an interesting unit. Maybe they're right. Living a little couldn't hurt... it seems like you'll have to take (F/N)'s advice more often (and ask them to smuggle you in again).

"Hey, are you even listening?!"

A soft smile makes its way across your face. "Maybe."

"Well, you better be! If you're gonna attend the next Knights live with me, you'll need to know everything, from image colors to fan chants!"

“CINDERELLA” is the second collaboration single by Kaori Takahashi, featuring girl group Allume (@flwrbankent !). Released on September 6th, 2013 by Avex Trax, the single was a critical and commercial success. It was a chart-topper and one of Kaori’s biggest hits, selling over 600,000 units in Japan alone and becoming the country’s 6th highest selling single, under Arashi, Exile, AKB48, and Kaori’s own singles “Black Night” and “Pop Diva.” Both Bonbons and Allume’s fanbase adored the song, and not only would it further endear Kaori to the Korean public, but it would also set the precedent for future collaborations between her and Allume.

Oh, this single was slaying away!

It cracked over 200,000 sales within a week and was downloaded over 100,000 times, and it debuted atop the Oricon chart immediately. “Cinderella” was probably the most famous single from an artist in Japan because the way it was being played everywhere.

It remained on the Oricon chart well into 2014, and even when it dropped out of the Top 30 sometime in May, it was still charting! Japan loved this damn song!

It also found itself on the Gaon chart! It debuted at a very high No. 2 with over 110,000 sales, but it’s not surprising since Allume is so huge in Korea, and since Korean fans were gradually warming up to Kaori.

The biggest surprise of all, though, was how well “Cinderella” did in the states! It sold a little over 90,000 copies and debuted at No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100, and the girls were absolutely floored at how close it got to cracking the Top 10. They were surprised that it even got into the Top 20!

Kaori had a pretty decently sized fanbase in the U.S. because J-pop was having a little Renaissance back in 2013, and her unique style and ability to speak English definitely endeared her to Western audiences! So of course “Cinderella” saw some success there!

Allume was a unfortunately niche thing to American audiences, but this got them so much exposure. A win-win!

It remained on the Billboard Hot 100 for about three weeks, and it remained on Gaon for nearly six, and it also charted in countries such as England, France, Australia, and the Philippines, and when I tell you critics were eating this single up, I mean it.

They especially loved how well Kaori and Allume’s voices went together, and they adored how “J-pop” it sounded! Like “Cinderella” really did combine the traditional idol sound with Kaori’s more mature, unconventional, Western pop style very well. By the end of the year, Billboard had listed the song as one of the best J-pop tracks of 2013!

“Cinderella” was truly a smash hit. Like everyone loved it and the collaboration was a match made in heaven!

Now you know Kaori had to kick it up a notch!

For earlier performances during the Sweet 18 era, the styling was definitely a bit more casual and leaned into 2000s pop punk aesthetics/1970s rock ‘n roll, but here it was gothic and dramatic (with a pop girl touch, of course) all around! Like of course she had to match the song’s concept!

Around this time she got really into visual-kei (bands like L’Arc-en-Ciel and Malice Mizer) and more theatrical aspects, and her stage outfits definitely reflected that.

Lots of thigh high boots, suits that made her look like she hopped straight out of The Phantom of the Opera, lots of rhinestones and sequins and shiny fabrics that emulated seventies glam rock and early 2010s futurism, lots of capes, and Kaori even had on a sequined top hat at one point!

And of course, knowing her, there was inspiration taken from Namie Amuro lol. More specifically, from stage outfits she wore during the 2010s!

Kaori’s makeup remained mostly the same, but there was a lot of matching going on! There were rhinestones used and stars painted onto her face, and her stylists did floating eyeliner on her once! Of course Kaori’s eyebrows were still dyed, and she actually thinned them out for a couple performances.

The styling for “Cinderella” was definitely a precursor to what we would see for her Chinese debut and her tour, though, and the girls ate it up!

ERA HIGHLIGHTS !

Best micro-era ever! Kaori had so much fun!

Right after the single dropped, she wanted to perform on Music Station with Allume, but due to scheduling conflicts, that unfortunately didn’t happen at the time. :( However, it did end up happening shortly before Kaori went on tour!

The choreography was so well done! Most of the time it didn’t feel like “Kaori ft. Allume” because they all danced in a line, especially during the chorus. It almost looked like Kaori was Allume’s seventh member!

The girls had a TV interview together in Japan, and they appeared on Weekly Idol in Korea! Their Weekly Idol episode was hilarious like the way Marisol had to keep translating for her… 😭

There weren’t too many promos for “Cinderella” until the end of the year, but Kaori, Marisol, and Analise were that trio this era!

They were always hanging out and taking pictures and just being cute! One time after the MAMAs they went out for dinner to celebrate, and after one of Allume’s fans spotted them together Twitter went wild!

At the start of November, Kaori teased something at the MAMAs by posting a photo of her holding a card from the ceremony on her Instagram while en route to Korea. At this point everyone knew that she was performing, so of course they were all like “why is she being so cryptic lol.”

We got a video of her and Analise together in a practice room with the rest of Allume… 👀 and then it was radio silence for like 2 days.

But that was all on purpose!

Because after Allume’s performance at the MAMAs, we got a surprise performance of “Cinderella!”

And the stage was so cute, too! It was this huge gothic castle with a bunch of platforms that the girls stood on… definitely one of the best performances in MAMAs history, mhm!

Afterwards Kaori and Allume all went out for dinner again, and we also got a video of her and Marisol being surprised that they heard “Cinderella” in a store 😭

They were all “omg we’re famous!” Like of course you are, this song was all over Asia!

But the best part of this era?

They performed at Kaori’s tour!

The styling for her Seoul concert and specifically for “Cinderella” was insane! All seven of them looked phenomenal, and this performance was arguably better than their one at the MAMAs!

During Kaori’s encore she actually brought Allume back on stage! They were just having a good time up there playing with the confetti and waving goodbye, and Marisol and Kaori gave each other the tightest hugs ever lol.

Shortly after the era ended, though, some of Jinah’s fans started acting… a little strange!

Jinah has a resting bitch face, so when she and Kaori met at the MAMAs 2012 she did look a little mean, but that was just her regular face so all was well! However, since Jinah’s fans are so detached from their own idol, they somehow came to the conclusion that Jinah hated Kaori…?

They were all down Twitter talking about the “beef” she and Jinah had and just making up shit. Like one time Jinah’s fans were like “gotcha!” because a video of her shifting her position by taking a half inch step away from Kaori started spreading… like oh brother!

They were literally in Kaori’s comment section like “Jinah hates you…” she literally responded to one of them by saying “girl shut up” (verbatim!) and Jinah liked her damn Tweet!

Gagged actually!

While Kaori was touring in America, she was asked about the drama in an interview and she went “what drama?” Like she was confused!

She laughed it off and cleared everything up and the whole thing died down shortly after. Like Jinah’s fans were bending over backwards to start something and both of them didn’t give a shit!

Allume loves Kaori, you guys. Don’t worry!

All in all, collab of the year! Aside from… whatever the hell happened with Jinah’s fans, “Cinderella” was an absolutely incredible release! The public loved it, critics loved it, the girls had a great time, and their fans couldn’t wait for more! ♡

Defining Unit Ra*bits

On February 9, 2023, I sent an ask to tumblr user lisxdumbr. It reads:

Hot take: Ra*bits didn't exist in Mitsuru's center event until Mitsuru got his memories back.

Now, to clarify, Ra*bits does exist. It started to form at the end of Reminiscence*Marionette, when Nazuna meets Tomoya and Hajime and they ask him to join their unit as their “last hope” and Mitsuru joins as well. From then on, it developed, and from the moment each of them realized that Ra*bits was their home, unit Ra*bits had formed a clear identity- not to the public, but to the members themselves. 

In Mitsuru’s center event, Black Bunny in Underland, Mitsuru got hit by a ball and lost his memories. The central plot of the story is Ra*bits trying to get back “their Mitsuru”, the Mitsuru with the memories they all share. They ran around the school, asked about his memories, met others he commonly interacted with like Arashi, and prepared him for the upcoming live they had agreed to by the name of Underland. 

Nazuna, Tomoya, and Hajime were very focused on getting Mitsuru’s memories back. It was their most important priority, which makes sense; they wanted to share the memories together. However, Hajime had a very important realization along the way, thanks to Kanata’s words. In his own words, “Yes. We desperately try to force Mitsuru-kun to get his memories back, because that’s what we wanted... But Mitsuru-kun is still Mitsuru-kun, no matter what state he’s in. Just because he’s lost his memories, doesn’t mean he’s a fake. Both the Mitsuru-kun with his memories and the Mitsuru-kun without them are still equally the real him.” (TL: nazunyan427, Black Bunny in Underland Chapter 8). It was still Mitsuru, yes, but for Nazuna and Tomoya, and even Hajime before his realization, there was a hole in their reality. Mitsuru was gone to them. That’s why they were looking for him so desperately, even to beg for him to return, because the Mitsuru without memories was really not “their” Mitsuru. He wasn’t “Ra*bits” Mitsuru. He was just plain old Mitsuru.

The way they view each other is much less their physical being, it’s the memories and bonds they share as a group, all four of them. If one’s missing their memories, then unit “Ra*bits” doesn’t exist. 

This is where we need to define Ra*bits. At surface level, Ra*bits is a four-person idol unit consisting of Nito Nazuna, Tenma Mitsuru, Mashiro Tomoya, and Shino Hajime which focuses on a cute, pure, and lively bunny concept. Going a little bit deeper, the four members are close and take the time to practice often and lift each other's spirits when they’re down, no matter what happens. When something goes bad, they hold onto each other and pick themselves up. There’s no place but forward. 

They’re more than that. Instead of focusing on what it is on surface level, let’s think about this: what could you change or take away that would still keep Ra*bits as Ra*bits, in the eyes of the members? A few times, the members have wanted to do a “bad boys” theme- which is quite different from their usual cute and pure concept. If they were to switch concepts, would they still be Ra*bits, even if they changed their unit name? They would. It would be Ra*bits, because it’s still the four of them. They didn’t have to pick that certain theme or unit outfit- in fact, they wore it because Mitsuru ordered it without them knowing and they still had to pay for it. 

Now, what if they started to be a boy band, playing instruments and singing and a little less dancing, would they still be Ra*bits? Yes, because their love remains intact. They may not be an idol unit anymore, if that happened, but they’d still be Ra*bits nonetheless. Why? Because it’d be the four of them still, their love intact.

Now, what if one of them left? Would “Ra*bits” still be Ra*bits, in that case? It could never be; if one part is missing, all of it is missing. That would be why Nazuna came back so fast from his university hiatus. In Nazuna’s center event, High Five, the three juniors missed their nii-chan dearly before he returned. As far as I knew, there was barely/not too much idol activity going on without him. Everyone was pretty stressed, especially Tomoya with the amount of frustration he experienced trying to deal with the RhyLin executives without Nazuna’s help, and while the three’s relationships with each other were not strained, they felt incomplete without Nazuna. Now, is that Ra*bits? It might still look like it; it’s the same people, just minus one, but if that period had prolonged- if Nazuna hadn’t come back- would that fragile “stability” stay?

Think about it. If the member who three people believed saved them, supported them in every situation vanished, would it still be the same unit? Or would it be a ghost of that unit? If Tomoya had disappeared, would Ra*bits still be Ra*bits? Of course not- I’d fear that Hajime might die of heartbreak, and Nazuna and Mitsuru would have a hole cut out of their hearts. If Mitsuru went missing- what would Ra*bits be? A shell. If Hajime went missing, I’d fear for the atrocities that may happen. 

That wouldn’t be Ra*bits then. Ra*bits is a four person unit, but what truly defines Ra*bits is the bonds, love, and memories that these members share.

ok anyway izuleo. there is so much to go thru here. pls be aware that i am looping fineknights starlight parade rn so im like 500x more insane. this is so much lore bear with me

okay so. leo and izumi met a bit before the war when leo just kinda. burst into a classroom izumi was practicing in and was like "ur singing sucks lmao" and izumi was like "what the hell" and then they got in a small scuffle or some shit and then leo basically just didn't leave izumi alone and called izumi his muse and composed a bunch of songs for him so they're besties.

so like. izuleo are just kinda chilling. and then the old leader of the mega-unit.... Othello? or Backgammon? I think it was called at the time? has smth happen and can't be the leader anymore (it's heavily implied that Eichi was why the previous leader stepped down) so Leo is left to fill in the slot and he becomes the new leader and renames the unit back to its og name before the name changes to Othello and Backgammon - Chess. but most of the people in the unit (bc at this time units were GIANT and encompassed like hundreds of students) didn't actually care abt being idols and were just kinda in the unit for the sake of the name they could ride off of that looks good on their resumes and shit. Eichi did not like that. so eichi does his eichi things and pulls strings with the student council (thanks keito) and makes it so units cannot be bigger than 5 people and can't really be smaller than 2 due to prohibitive costs and whatnot. (madara is an exception. they let him stay a solo unit bc it kept him out of everyone's hair) so. the mega-units splinter!

Leo and Izumi go to form their own unit out of the splinter units and Leo originally suggests them being named Knight, but Izumi tells him that that name was already taken, and suggests Knights instead. (yes. izumi named their unit.) and so ! Knights is born ! Izumi and Leo are the only real members at this time so they go. recruit people i guess idk. Arashi gets roped in despite not actually caring abt idol-ing at the time and i think Ritsu just kinda comes along bc it's the easiest course of action? idk man it's been so long since i read Checkmate. ANYWAY.

Eichi uses this early Knights to destroy units he sees as threats and to test the DreamLive system (which is the current system operating in Enstars for lives and shit. i cannot explain it) or maybe it's DreamFes? idk. one of the two. anyway. at one point Leo goes to a bunch of the other splinter units and asks if they had to choose between never using his music again (leo is a genius composer btw and is largely attributed to being a reason knights is so popular) and being his friend; or using his music. Every single person he goes to chooses his music over him. Strike one on the Leo Downfall Arc! ALSO ENGSTARS RETCONS THIS. DON'T TRUST THEM. In Engstars Izumi says that Leo once asked him that question too, but that's a fucken LIE Izumi was never asked to choose between Leo and his music bc his choice was always Leo and Leo KNEW that.

The two are disgustingly codependent at this point btw. so like. Leo uses his music to destroy these splinter units of the mega units and everyone Eichi considers a threat and this does. A LOT to his mental state. He's kind of disgustingly codependent with Izumi to the point where he basically tells Izumi that he'll do anything Izumi asks of him and that all he wants is for Izumi to smile (and praise him i think?) bc like. at this point Izumi has gotten super harsh on Leo and like. Izumi is normally prickly but this is way worse. Strike Two on the Leo Downfall Arc!

Sometime after this (I do not know exactly when. again. been awhile) Leo realizes what he's done and the fact that he's stepped on so many people and that his music is little more than a weapon and just fucking. breaks. he becomes a shut-in and basically disappears from Yumenosaki. Izumi visits him a few times - most notably in the short story Lionheart where he visits and Ruka (leo's younger sister) ends up crying and begging Izumi to help Leo, which leads to Leo coming out of his room (and Izumi describes him as being super gaunt and barely able to stand) and tells Izumi off for making Ruka cry. (he didn't make ruka cry btw she's just really worried abt her brother) After that Izumi leaves the house and goes and sits on the beach and is all emo while listening to the MP3 player full of music Leo's made for him. one of the tracks is just a recording of their first meeting too and izumi does not have a good time listening to that. I think at the end of Lionheart Izumi promises to keep fighting in Leo's name until he's strong enough.

Anyway. While Leo's a shut-in he basically stops composing entirely bc he stops hearing music in his head and thinks everything he composes is worthless which leads to him hurting himself (i still hc that he has scars on his hands from biting himself and izumi always gets a little sad when he sees them) which eventually leads to Madara taking Leo to travel the world so he can get his groove back. This is during IzuLeo's second year i think. The war was during their first year i think. timeline is fuzzy ngl. So Leo is basically missing for the entirety of his second year. Knights at that time is Izumi, Ritsu, and Arashi with Leo missing. Leo was their leader (dubbed "ousama" (king) - also the name of my leo fictive. unrelated.) but he's just kinda. gone. so I think during this time Knights just stops performing and slips out of the limelight. Mama and Leo's World Tour happens, which is also kinda sad bc once Leo comes back and is asked abt it he says he was "abducted by aliens" and doesn't remember it. Also when Leo comes back he doesn't go straight back to Yumenosaki, he remains away from Knights and everyone for awhile. Madara is able to coax Leo into performing with him during the story Concerto and that's where Leo finally decides to go back to the stage with his Knights. except oopsie ! all judgement !

So. Leo goes back to Yumenosaki. By jumping in through a window. He does that a lot in the early stories btw idk if he knows what a door is /j BUT. I digress. So he meets Tsukasa at that point and i feel like just kinda brushes him off? and challenges Knights to a duel ! Judgement ! Where he claims that if Knights cannot defeat him then Knights doesn't deserve to exist anymore bc they've grown too weak in his absence. So Izumi is like "Leo-kun what the fuck" and Leo is just like ":3" and peaces out thru the window. Knights are unsurprisingly like "wtf are we meant to do we don't have Leo's songs" and Leo goes and gets his little temporary unit Knights Killers up and running with Eichi, Kuro, and Nazuna. eichi bc they're kinda friends despite everything that happened (and also leo knows that he's strong), and kuro and nazuna bc they're literally the closest people. good work leokun. So ! Knights Killers and Knights go to battle ! Knights begins losing bc Leo can compose on the spot and Eichi is noted to be a powerhouse, and with Leo and Eichi together they're basically unstoppable. During that story we also get this really soft moment of Ritsu (who's Knights strategist) apologizing to... Tsukasa? I think? maybe Izumi? for his strategies not being enough. but as Knights Killers wins, Leo has an "oh shit" moment and realizes that he can't just do whatever the hell he wants with Knights, bc Knights also belongs to the others :3 so Leo is like "yeah no we're not dissolving Knights" and rejoins as their ousama ! (also Knights Killers has a song called Crush of Judgement and its a BANGER go listen to it)

at this point Izumi and Leo have a very kinda. tense? relationship? they're not as disgustingly codependent anyhow. they're kinda distant. but they work on repairing their relationship over time ! izumi is less harsh on Leo and keeps a pretty close eye on him actually (they live together in Italy !) as a sort of way of making up for everything he did. and leo's just a silly goofy guy but is still a little haunted by his past. but the two are working on it.

anyway once they graduate and tsukasa becomes the new ousama, izumi goes to live in italy for. modelling things? i think? i don't really know tbh. and leo goes with bc where izumi goes leo follows and vice versa in most cases. sometime in the modern !! timeline leo is like. doing stuff for GFK (gatekeeper? godfather? idk. one of those dudes. don't ask me abt them i don't get it) and overworking himself and izumi is like "leokun PLEASE" and takes over his scheduling so he doesn't keep working himself to the bone. also leo does like a requiem or something? to see if kasa is worthy of being the leader? or something? gonna be real i do not really remember that story much.

so yeah izuleo were disgustingly codependent and now are more normal and also got gay married in florence. they told me themselves.

Ritsu: We rose up in the world by winning “duels,” or, basically, live showdowns. This time, that strategy we knew and loved can’t be used.

Ritsu: それだけで、だいぶ面倒な話だよねぇ。。。。。。 気に食わないやつを "デュエル" で倒すのがいちばん手っ取り早いのに

Ritsu: That’s a huge drag by itself…… Especially considering that the quickest way to beat guys you can’t stand is with a “Duel.”

Arashi: あら、野蛮♪

Arashi: Ara, how savage! ♪

Ritsu: 。。。。。。問題なのは。この関西地域の現状を鑑みるに、そんな "裏指令" が俺たちにとっては致命的な足枷になるってこと

Ritsu: …… The problem is that, bearing in mind the current state of affairs in the Kansai region, those kinds of “hidden orders” will become fatal shackles on us.

Ritsu: 今、関西地域ではライブ対決が一種の流行（ブーム）になってる

Ritsu: Now, live showdowns are becoming a trend of some sort (a fad, basically) in the Kansai region.

Ritsu: 地元紙やネットで特集が組まれてるせいか、関西地域のファンも血気盛んなのか何なのかーーーけっこう注目してるみたい

Ritsu: Maybe it’s because the local newspapers and the internet are producing features about them, but I wonder if the fans in the Kansai region are also just hot-blooded. …. They seem to be paying close attention either way.

Ritsu: みんな、どの "ユニット" が対決に勝つかとか、競馬やプロレスみたい予想したりして盛り上がってる

Ritsu: “Guys, which “unit” will win the showdown?” Everyone is charged up making predictions like in horse racing and pro wrestling.

Ritsu: 紛争だ〜、ライブ対決だ〜、とか言っても実際に血が流れるわけでもないしねぇ。スポーツを観戦するみたいに、わりと無邪気に楽しんでる

Ritsu: “It’s conflict!~” “It’s a live showdown!~” But even when saying things like that, it doesn’t mean that blood will actually be spilled. They're enjoying something simple-minded like when watching sports.

Ritsu: そういう荒っぱいのは苦手、みたいなひとは他のもっとゆるい雰囲気の地域の予選会を見に行けばいいんだしね

Ritsu: That kind of crudeness is not my cup of tea. People like that should go see the preliminary rounds in other regions with a more lax atmosphere.

Ritsu: そのための補助金、旅費とかは申請すれば給付されるし

Ritsu: The subsidy states that travel expenses and the like will be reimbursed upon request.

Ritsu: Actually, taking part in this competition as “Knights,” who are famous as a “group who go to war,” seems to be strongly desired by fans.

Ritsu: とはいえ。俺たちはESビッグ3とか呼ばれてる強豪だし、特にESアイドルは “”Knights” と戦っても勝ち目がない" って思いこんでくれてる

Ritsu: Be that as it may, ES idols in particular are convinced that: “There is no chance of winning even if we wage war against “Knights”” since we’re part of the powerhouse referred to as the ES Big 3.

Leo: 眠れる獅子って感じだな〜。でも実際のところ、おれたちは逆にライブ対決には絶対に勝てない

Leo: ライブ対決を禁じる "裏指令" のせいで、勝負を挑まれた時点で負けたのと同じになるから

Leo: It’s the same as losing whenever we’re challenged to a match because of the “hidden orders” that prohibit live showdowns.

Tsukasa: ええ。仮に我らが "裏指令" を無視してLive対決をした場合、当然、普通に対決には勝利するでしょうけど

Tsukasa: Yes. For argument’s sake, in the case where we disregard the “hidden orders” and have live showdowns, naturally, we would win showdowns without any difficulty, however…

Tsukasa: その後、"裏指令" 違反として罰が与えられます

Tsukasa: After that, punishment will be given for violation of the “hidden orders.”

Izumi: ちなみに、興味なくてあんまり覚えてないけどさぁ？ "指令" の場合は罰金が取られるらしいけど、"裏指令" の場合は違反するとどうなるんだっけ？

Izumi: By the way, I don’t really remember much because it’s not very interesting?? In the case of our “orders,” it seems that we’ll receive a penalty, but regarding “hidden orders,” what will happen if we break them?

Tsukasa: 。。。。。。 "裏指令" を与えられた人間によって異なるようですが、基本的に "とても大事なものが奪われる" ことになっているようです

"(Y/N)~" Ritsu called out to you from across the hallway. "I want a kiss~"

You winced, slowly turning around. There you saw your boyfriend and the rest of his unit making their way to their practice room.

"Hey, don't bother (Y/N)!" snapped Arashi. "Can't you see that she's busy?"

She was right and the stack of books in your arms proved that. You forced out a chuckle but decided not to answer Ritsu's request and walked away.

"Ahaha! What odd behaviour!" Leo pointed out. "She didn't even pay you no mind!"

Ritsu bit his lip. "Is she mad at me?" he murmured to himself.

After practice, Ritsu looked all over the school for you, constantly calling you but never getting a reply. He was getting extremely anxious because not only did he know you as the most happy-go-lucky person that he adored, but because there was that thought in the back of his mind that you were going to leave him.

You were avoiding him after all.

“H-Hey, Maa-kun, have you seen (Y/N) anywhere?” Ritsu panted, hands on his knees as he breathed heavily.

“Woah, there!” Mao exclaimed. “You’re sweating! You’re not one to run around so much. Is (Y/N) okay? I haven’t seen her much today—”

“I don’t know… I think she might be mad at me, but I’m not sure why she would be…” said Ritsu sadly. “She’s not even picking up my calls.”

“Hmm… let me try then.”

Mao scrolled through his contacts until he landed on yours. As the phone rang, the two boys waited for you to answer.

Unprecedentedly, the line was immediately cut.

“Huh, weird. (Y/N) always picks up when I call her,” said Mao, thinking back to the times he had to call you to take care of Ritsu. “Yeah, she might be mad at you. Ritsu—”

“I swear I didn’t do anything,” Ritsu quickly stated. “Argh, I’m going to look again. Bye!”

“Hey, don’t overdo it!”

Ritsu sighed, slumping down by the corner of the Yumenosaki gardens. He looked for you everywhere he could, asking friends and classmates where you went, but none of them knew of your whereabouts.

He couldn't keep running around forever. Ritsu wasn't built for that. So he came to rest for a bit before trying again.

“Ah… I’m tired,” he muttered to himself. “(Y/N)… where are you…?”

His eyelids felt heavy, but before he could fall asleep, his ears picked up the sound of shuffling. He lifted his head up and there you were, backed into the corner, hugging your knees.

The two of you stared at each other in shock, yet Ritsu was the one who broke off the silence.

"(Y/N)!" he exclaimed, crawling towards you. As he took your hands in his, he continued swiftly, "I was looking all over for you! Are you okay? What's wrong? Did I do something that hurt you? I'm sorry. Please don't be mad. I'll fix it–"

You shook your head, an artificial smile forming on your face. "I'm sorry, Ritsu. I just needed alone time... You didn't do anything wrong, I promise."

"T-Then why have you been avoiding me?" he quavered. "You've been ignoring my calls too... (Y/N), you know you can tell me anything, right? You can rely on me – I want you to rely on me..."

You stared into his deep red eyes, the ones that pleaded with you to be honest with him. You let out a sigh, nodding in agreement that talking to him would have been better than bottling these feelings up.

"There's something I never told you about..." you said. "About my past relationship..."

Ritsu looked confused, but stayed quiet for you to continue. Not once did he let go of your hands, and you were thankful for that.

"...The relationship was fine at first, but it gradually became harder to breathe in. He would get mad at everything I did, everything I said. It was like walking on eggshells... There were times I was hurt by it too – mentally and physically."

And as you expected, those red eyes of his looked horrified.

"It was a scary time, but I'm glad I was able to get out. Then I met you." You smiled at him genuinely this time, but it all faded away too quickly. "I didn't think I was ready to get into a new relationship, but you were so sweet, so kind... You made all my worries melt away. I was so happy, but I guess I shouldn't have been."

"(Y/N), what? I don't understand–"

"He found out I was dating you," you stated. "He found out I was attending Yumenosaki, where I live now. He texted me yesterday to insult me because I already got into a new relationship even though it had been a while. He wouldn't leave me alone despite the amount of times I blocked him! He just keeps creating new accounts and numbers. That's why I didn't answer your calls... I-I turned my phone off..."

"(Y/N)..."

"R-Ritsu, I'm so scared...!" you stuttered as tears fell down your cheeks. "I didn't know what to do, so I tried avoiding it... but I'm so scared..."

"Hey..." he said calmly, wiping a tear away with his thumb. "I'm sorry you had to go through that, but thank you for telling me this. I'll handle the rest, okay?"

"H-Huh? But how?"

"Hmm... I'll tell the rest of Knights about it..." he muttered.

"Ritsu, what do you mean by that–"

"Hehe, don't worry about it~"

He stood up and held out his hand. "Come on, let's go back. Lunch is almost over." You hesitated but grabbed his hand as he pulled you up carefully. Once you were on your feet, he embraced you. He held your head to his chest, making you hear his heartbeat.

"You deserve to be happy, so don't worry about it anymore, alright?" he said. "(Y/N), I love you."

Lips pursed in order not to cry any more, you chuckled. "Thank you, Ritsu..." you whispered. "I love you too."

The next day, you stopped receiving those threatening messages from your ex. You wondered how Ritsu did it, but he never answered, leaving you clueless about the whole situation.

However, he did tell you that you shouldn't worry about your ex finding you anymore. He made sure to report the messages to the police with the help of Tsukasa. So now that the police were keeping an eye on him, you were able to relax.

"But what did you guys do anyway?" you asked Knights one day. "Ritsu never told me."

"Uhm– Oh– We didn't do much!" Arashi quickly stated, looking to the side. "We just reported it, that's it!"

"Eh...? Then Tsukasa, can you tell me–"

"I'm sorry, (Y/N), I can't."

"Izumi–"

"Nope."

"Leo?!"

"Not happening, (Y/N)!"

"Why are you all being so secretive?!"

"It's for your own good," Ritsu said sleepily as he entered the room. "(Y/N), can I use you as a pillow?"

You smiled. "Of course, come over here." As you patted your lap, Ritsu made his way over to you. He laid his head down on your legs happily as you began to stroke his hair.

"Can I have a kiss too?" he whispered. "After all, you didn't give me one last time~"

"Okay, okay~"

You leaned down and placed a soft kiss on his lips which he seemed to be very delighted about. You supposed it didn't matter how your boyfriend got your ex to back off. The past was the past, and you were going to leave that behind once and for all.

Anyways, your future was already fast asleep on your lap, lightly snoring away.

First Kiss

Summary: A first kiss is said to be a special moment for a couple. However, it requires special timing, doesn't it? Then again, the desire for a kiss always builds up eventually, doesn't it?

Ann had been completely caught off guard that day. They had not expected such a question out of literal nowhere and the thought of it made them squirm in place for quite a while. It had never crossed their mind to be honest. Or rather, they had noticed how much of a burning desire it had been until fairly recently. And it made them unable to concentrate for the rest of the day. They were sitting in their seat all the time during work, hardly able to properly concentrate. Ever since that conversation with Arashi during lunch break…

“So, how has it been going with you and Izumi–Chan?” She had asked, ever so curiously yet with her usual smile. She was eager to know, especially recently, and while it might put some people off perhaps, Ann was not too shy to tell the woman about it. She might have useful advice honestly, just as she did a few times before when they were in a pickle regarding Izumi. Sure, he was more than bearable now for them, especially recently, but sometimes it could become a bit too much and they had no clue how to react to him sometimes. Arashi always knew what to say however and it helped out immensely. The two must have known each other for a very long time… Then again, the two were also in the same unit, so it should not really come to a surprise. That or it was just Arashi’s presence bringing Ann to a much needed relief.

“Ah, good.” They responded to the question earlier, not expecting much else. They spotted the young woman nodding, the smile ever so brightly. And they expected it to be nearly the end of it while sipping on the water they had brought along… However, they spit however much was in their mouth shortly after when she asked the following out of nowhere: “So, if it’s not too much to ask… Did you two kiss yet~?”

It left Ann in a frozen shocked state, then looking up at her with wide eyes and a beet red face. Or at least they assumed this was the case since they felt their head clearly heating up, feeling way warmer from one moment to the next. “K… Kikikiki…. Kiss!?” They repeated, stuttering it out of their own mouth even as they were just staring at the smiling Arashi. She just had to bring it up so bluntly, no shame whatsoever. Though her face changed for a moment, as if questioning it for a moment before then guessing: “That’s a no.”

They nodded. “Y.. Yeah! No! Why—”

“Haha, I thought I would just ask. You two are so close, I assumed you had already taken that step.”

“Erm… N… No…” They responded, trying to calm down. “A kiss… Big deal… Especially a first…”

“My, not because you are shy or anything?” Arashi asked, the smile back on her face.

“N… No! It’s… That… Erm…”

“Haha, relax Ann–Chan. I was just curious, promise.” She tried to reassure the other finally. “You cling on Izumi–Chan quite a bit. So I thought you had taken the initiative already.”

“C… Cling!? No! I—”

“Aww, you really think no one is looking~? Sure, you hold back when there are those around who have no idea. But when it’s just us and you think no one is watching… Oh my, it’s adorable to just watch you two. I’ve never seen him so embarrassed either. And yet, he enjoys it, despite claiming otherwise.”

Hearing Arashi point it out didn’t make it any better for Ann. In fact, the more they heard the more they wanted to sink into their chair and become on with it. It was that embarrassing. 

Though even once this conversation was over due to work related reasons, the imagery of a kiss had never left their mind ever since.

Sharing a kiss with Izumi for the first time… Would he even agree to it? What if he turned them down? 

‘Hah? Seriously, a kiss? You have to wait for those things. Ugh, don’t just suggest weird things out of nowhere.’ 

Or something like that. It would be an indicator that it might have been a little too early to ask. But the thought was driving them crazy, to say the least. The image was in their head, a little too vividly. Him getting closer to them with his lips before the pair could touch another’s… It was always so close in their head yet it was enough to drive them wild. A tension they never thought they had to begin with… But here it was and it was not leaving their mind for some time. Honestly, they could just bash their head in at the thought alone. They wanted to squirm on the spot, curl themselves up into a ball and roll back and forth on the ground while their hands would block their beet red face. An idiotic thought but that was how they felt. They had a hard time keeping themself together here! Why did Arashi have to bring this up!? They were living a peaceful life until then, enjoying the pure bliss of ignorance on that matter! But no, it turns out that they might want a kiss very badly or something! Maybe that was either the last straw or the trigger! Or perhaps they had been dreaming about it before but didn’t remember. They barely recalled any of their dreams after all. So who knows, that desire might have been there for a very long time!

Hah, no use now… But still, they felt like they had to forget about it. Work should take priority at this moment. When at home they might just roll around the floor for a while, maybe grab the pillow while at it and prac—

“Ann! Are you even listening to me!?” A familiar voice would throw them out of their thoughts, their daydream. It was then where they had noticed that they were facing the keyboard, staring at it with their head in their hands, elbows leaning against the table top. Had they seriously not type anything nor touched any of their dictionaries on the desk!? Ugh, they were really out of it today, weren’t they?

Regardless, when the voice had registered in their brain they lifted their head up in one swoop… And it only made them more nervous on the spot. Of all times, he just had to show up… Izumi, of course. What was their luck today? It was horrid! Even worse once they noticed him to be very up close, his expression annoyed yet it only made them blush all the same. Solely because he just was so close, so very close, right within lips range. Actually, the two were somewhat face to face, him having leaned forward to get a good look at them it seemed. Thus their eyes couldn’t help but wander down to his lips, spotting them right then and there which made them nearly gulp, their very own lips quivering. ‘Ah god, this is too much on my brain! Make it stop! Get away now before I completely lose it!’ Or so it had been shooting through their mind all of a sudden. Their head was at the brink of spinning and it was so extremely difficult to keep a straight face. ‘Ah yeesh! Izumi, you idiot! I still hate you sometimes!’

“Y… Yes!?” They would force out of their mouth however, their voice going slightly high pitched due to the sudden nervousness overcoming them. It seemed to only get a rather annoyed sigh out of him however. 

“What’s gotten into you today? Seriously…” He asked. “It’s not like you to be this distracted. Did you even notice your door opening!?”

“Ah— Uhm… N… No…” They admitted, completely ashamed. “Sorry…”

“You know… If you don’t feel well you should just head home. You don’t just hold the others back but also yourself. Would you rather lay in bed sick for a day or for an entire week?”

“H… Hey! I’m fine!” They insisted and that was the truth. They were more than fine health wise so no need for that much concern to begin with. Yet it doesn’t seem like he was believing them, not really at least, judging from his sudden glare.

“Right… Totally fine. Of course…”

“Seriously! All good!” Yet while talking he was not backing off and it was driving them crazy. He was so close… God, they just wanted to grab him by the collar and shove his face so close to their own and leave a kiss on his lips right then and there. But no, they had to hold themselves back here. That would be taking things too far now! It was very tempting though.

Izumi only rolled his eyes at their insistence, as if not sure what to believe and perhaps how annoying said insistence was. Though it only was a short glimpse they took off it as it went back to his lips and— Wait, did his lips always look so soft? He was saying something but they were no longer paying attention to that to be honest. Instead they were just staring down at his lips, eyeing them as they were moving. Whatever he was saying, they blacked it out from their ears. He may as well have talked gibberish, something A*im*l C*oss*ng like for example. They weren’t really listening to begin with, unable to focus. Not to mention that they had noticed their heart rate increasing, pounding like crazy and their face flushing. 

And thus, after forgetting everything and as if in a trance they noticed their eyes closing all of a sudden. They couldn’t hold back, not properly at least. Their body was moving on their own by then, lips puckering up ever so slightly as they got closer and closer to his face. At least that’s what it felt like. There it was, it had overtaken them completely! This was somewhat unlike them!

However, before being able to get any action out of it their boyfriend would suddenly scream loudly, though more due to the sudden shock than being angry, getting Ann back to reality. “Wha— What are you doing!?”

It made them open their eyes all of a sudden, then noticing how close they had gotten in a short amount of time. Their own lips were only small inches away from his which made them flinch and squeal all of a sudden before backing away, swearing that steam was rising from the top of their head.

“Wha— Ah— I— Sorry! I just— Suddenly and— I mean— Uhm— Explaining! So earlier today… Kinda uhm… Was brought up and… Then… Then then then… I think… Uhm… That… I… Just… Ugh, dunno just… Not meaning to! If so asking and… Ah yeesh! Sorry for being weird I—”

Ann was just smashing word after word together, not even sure what point they were even trying to get across here. They were trying to justify where their sudden move came from yet it might make them look weirder than initially planned. Talk about messing up now… That would be another earful now, wouldn’t it? Ah yeesh, they knew how to mess up the simplest things, didn’t they!? 

‘Idiot! I’m a big idiot! Idiot idiot idiot!’

But just as that had shot through their mind and they were suddenly interrupted, their non stop stuttering cut off from one moment to the next. Silence kicked in all of a sudden, none of the two had been saying a word. Then again, how could they out of nowhere?

One of Ann’s arms had been grabbed and suddenly pulled closer, almost across the table. That had caught them off guard yet they had been noticing that a little too late. Because once they did they were in the middle of being pulled closer the next thing they knew was their lips being suddenly smushed right against another pair. But not anyone else’s, it was Izumi’s. Then again, of course it was. 

Ann’s heartbeat increased even further for a split second before calming down, their cheeks flushing red as they were completely caught off guard by this sudden move. Their body went from stiff to relaxed and their wide eyes closed slowly. For a moment they were still flustered of course, but oddly calm all the same. They were just taking in the feeling of his lips, being even softer than they had initially assumed. Sure, the position might not have been the most ideal but it didn’t really matter at the end of the day. All that mattered at that moment was the kiss, sudden yet pleasant all the same. They were enjoying it, to say the least and didn’t want to let go. However, they would break apart eventually, each of them catching their breath and opening their eyes.

It was there where Ann had a good look on Izumi’s face, all red and his face beyond flustered. His cheeks had lit up and his face wasn’t even sure what expression to make – Slight annoyance? Or being honest and showing that he kind of liked it? Maybe flustered as well. It was hard to tell, it was somewhat of a mixture of each, all accompanied by his own breathing. “Th… There. Happy?” Was all he could muster to say at first, acting as if trying to hide a grin now. Though then he added: “All you had to do is ask you know. Ugh… You can still be annoying sometimes.”

A first kiss… No, the first kiss between them. Sudden and a little sloppy and yet they enjoyed it. They really did. They were beyond words to be completely honest, not sure how to even respond. So… He would not have denied them in any way? Nor would he have said no to their advances? Maybe they had just been worrying too much in the end. Yeah, it wouldn’t be uncommon for them to worry at the end of the day. After all, he had kissed them without hesitation just now, snatching their very first kiss. And it was a kiss they both shared so they couldn’t be happier. Even if they were staring in disbelief for a little while longer.

However, once reality finally kicked in Ann was suddenly grinning like crazy, smiling a little too widely perhaps. Not even given a direct answer they suddenly grabbed Izumi by the collar of his sweater with both of their hands.

“What the— Ann!? What are you—!?”

Yet before he could even finish that they were cutting him off this time with a kiss, simply because they felt like it. All because they just wanted to taste him again. And again. And yet again. Needless to say, the two were stuck kissing in that office for a good while instead of discussing work… Not even caring if someone had come over and decided to watch them or not.

Arashi loved you very, very much. And you did as well.

Both of you were inseparable. Being childhood friends from the age of 10, and now being lovers, everyone around you both would call the two of you as soulmates.

But she shouldn't have listened to you that you were able to go home by yourself, no. It was night as well.

Knights' practice had ended quite late that day. The sky was a beautiful navy blue, with black ink-like colour that blotched the sky. White drops of stars lightly illuminated the scenery down below.

The moon was a crescent moon, and it had also shone moonlight down below, yet softly, unlike a full moon.

Yet the moonlight and starlight did not help much of human vision. Lights at the street were flickering in a sorry state. But you didn't mind that, as you liked the feeling of the current scenery. It was beautiful.

Arashi and you were at the entrance of Ensemble square. While your girlfriend had wanted to walk you home, you had insisted that you'd be fine by yourself.

While the girl wasn't entirely sure to believe you, she sighed and let you go, but had stayed at her spot, making sure you were safe until you disappeared from her eyesight.

"Oh well, I guess I can believe in them for today. Its still 10 pm..."

'And they're old enough too, maybe I was too overprotective myself... but why are the street lights so faulty today?'

And once you disappeared, Arashi was off to her direction.

That was the last time she saw you.

Arashi was a little anxious the next day.

You weren't answering her texts, phone calls, but it could be that you were just too tired, or you turned your phone off.

The next day, Arashi panicked.

When she had went over to your house along with her unit mates, you weren't answering the door.

Since she had a spare key, she opened the door.

Your house was clean. But when she had went to your room, it was a mess. Only your phone was on the bed.

But you weren't there.

The first “I like you” and “I love you” uttered between the both of them were after a practice session, when Koga and Adonis stayed behind to clean up the practice room. 

Adonis had sought out advice from Arashi on how exactly he should go about confessing his romantic feelings. The blonde stared at Adonis before gushing about all sorts of things, even trying to guess who was the one that had stolen the boy’s heart. 

“Is it Koga-chan? From your unit? Oh my god, it is, right?” Arashi exclaimed, and Adonis couldn’t fight the flush that settled on his cheeks. He felt a little lightheaded, a dizzying feeling rising from the pit of his stomach at the mere mention of Koga’s name. Adonis opened his mouth to speak, but he couldn’t really make out any words to say.

“To be honest, it was obvious from how much you stare at him during class~” Arashi mused. She then proceeded to ask question after question, saying things like, “When did you realise you liked him?”, “What exactly do you like about him?”, or “The both of you look so cute together as is!” and Adonis, ever the patient one, earnestly answered each and every one of her questions with honest answers. Once Arashi felt as though she had gotten enough juicy information from Adonis, she gave the boy advice on how to confess. Adonis listened attentively, making sure he wouldn’t miss out on any important information. “Ultimately, as long as you’re honest about your feelings, it will go well.” Arashi smiled. “Just be yourself! That is better than any other advice I can give you.” Adonis nodded before thanking his clubmate for her time. 

“I can just hope that it goes well.” Adonis remarked. 

“Mmh, I’m sure it will be fine! Good luck, Adonis-chan~” 

The setting sun that day casted the sky in a brilliant orange colour. It made Adonis feel warm, a fuzzy feeling blossoming in his chest, giving him the confidence he needed to take the first step in confessing his feelings towards his unitmate, his best friend. 

It was Adonis who first said it, his voice shaking ever so slightly despite him mentally giving himself a pep talk beforehand. He grabbed Koga’s arm, causing the other boy to turn back to look at him. Koga tilted his head, opening his mouth to start questioning Adonis when the taller boy blurted out, “I like you, Oogami.”

Koga blinked, before giving Adonis a smile. “I like ya’ too, we’re best buddies aren't we?” Koga exclaimed at Adonis, and Adonis didn't know whether to just forget it or to just burst into tears.

His lips moved faster than his brain worked. “I mean, in a more-than-friends way.” Adonis stated in a matter-of-fact manner. “I’m in love with you…” His face felt hot, and his voice trailed off but he made sure his expression remained firm. He could at least look confident, even if he did not feel like it. 

Koga silently stared at Adonis, his face getting redder as the seconds ticked by. He seemed to be slowly absorbing the sentence, and the more he lets it sink in, the more flustered he starts to get. Koga averted his eyes, because he felt as though if he continued to look into Adonis’ eyes he would just spontaneously combust.

Adonis let go of Koga’s arm. He was the first one to speak up, breaking the silence between them. “I’m sorry if it made you uncomfortable, you can just forget-” 

“Shut up!” Koga blurted out. “You…you just confessed to me, didn’t ya!” He continued, feeling his cheeks heat up. “I wasn’t uncomfortable or whatever with what you said, so don’t just go decidin’ what I’m feelin’ for me!” 

Adonis blinked. Koga took a step forward, getting closer to the other boy. He made eye contact with Adonis, opening his mouth to say, “I like you too. In the same way you do.” Adonis’ heart pounded against his chest, almost as if it was going to jump out of his chest. But he was happy. He wasn’t anxious or nervous like he was just moments ago, he was relieved and elated.

“Oogami…” Adonis started, moving closer to Koga, to the point where there wasn’t any space between their bodies. “Are…are you serious? Do you really…“ 

“Yes! Do I look like the type to, I dunno, lie about my feelings or somethin’ stupid like that…” Koga cut Adonis off, making eye contact with him after what felt like an eternity. Adonis could tell that Koga was blushing and flustered, his rosy cheeks told Adonis as much. 

“I love you.” Adonis smiled, he was beaming, Koga could practically see the rays of sun around his face. “Can I hug you?” He asked politely, watching as Koga mumbled a soft “Yea” and nodding. Love bloomed in Adonis’ chest and threatened to spill out of his body. He wanted to give Koga every praise under the sun, kiss every blemish on his skin, and give him all the love the world has to offer, but for now, he just wrapped his arms around Koga’s frame. Koga nuzzled into Adonis’ neck, moving his arms to wrap around Adonis’ body and closing his eyes as he felt Adonis gently rest his chest on top of his head. 

The shorter boy mumbled something into Adonis’ neck, and though Adonis didn’t properly hear what it was, he could make out words like “love” and “too”. It was easy to piece together what Koga was saying. (He was reciprocating Adonis’ words, saying a quiet “I love you too.”) 

Adonis thought he couldn’t love Koga more than he already did, but at that moment, his heart swelled with boundless love for the boy he was embracing, so much love that it is unable to be contained within his body so he spills it all out by squeezing Koga tighter. 

Koga made a wheezing sound. “Ya squeezing the life out of me! Loosen up a bit!” He yelled. Adonis quickly let Koga go, worried that he may have unintentionally hurt Koga. “I’m sorry, I got carried away…Are you okay?” Adonis spoke, his voice tinged with worry, his face full of worry. He looked like a sad puppy almost, Koga thought to himself. Endearing and cute, but it’s also a heartbreaking expression. Koga didn’t like that. “ ‘m fine! Just don’t squeeze so tight next time, or else you’re gonna like, suffocate me!” Koga said. “ ’S not like I’m gonna fly or slip away or somethin’ like that..” His voice trailed off, realising how embarrassing the words coming out of his mouth were. His cheeks heat up for the nth time that day. “We still have to clean up the practice room! Let’s get this done with so we can get the fuck out of here.” 

Koga turned around to carry on the task he was previously doing. “And we can, uhm, grab dinner together, y’know, before heading home.” 

Adonis blinked, before smiling and picking up a broom, the promise of a dinner with Koga seeming to motivate him to get his task done as soon as possible. 

(Arashi demanded to find out the results of Adonis’ confession the next time they met. Adonis tried his best to keep details vague.)

Their first kiss happened after a particularly passionate performance, shortly after the confession. It was an extremely hyper performance, all of UNDEAD went all out. The presence on stage was at an all time high, the four of them singing their hearts out, singing, performing like the world was going to end. Passion seeped through every pore of their bodies that night, and adrenaline was pumped in their veins. 

When the live had reached its end, Koga and Adonis were ushered into their shared dressing room. The high from the adrenaline rush on stage had yet to dissipate, Koga felt like a firework that hadn’t finished showing off its colours to everyone, like a big blazing flame that was yet to be put out. 

Maybe that was what pushed Koga to push against Adonis, his arms pressed against Adonis’ chest, pressing his lips against Adonis’, tasting the flavour of the other boy’s chapstick. Adonis froze up, he wasn’t sure what to do, but he wrapped his arms around Koga’s body and kissed Koga back, not quite matching Koga’s roughness and haste, but no less passionate in his own regard. The kiss started out messy, their teeth clacking together, but it eventually settled into something gentler, something more intimate. 

Koga’s lips were chapped, dry, a far cry from Adonis’ soft ones but it was perfect. Adonis thought everything about him, even his flaws, was perfect. They made Koga the person he is, the person he loved. They parted after a while, both of them panting, gasping for some relief amidst the passionate, heated moment. 

Koga was the first one to move, he got off of Adonis, his cheeks rosy, though Adonis couldn’t tell if it was because they had just had their first kiss or if it was because of the temperature in the dressing room. Koga cleared his throat. “Sorry for just kissin’ you like that without askin’ first.” He spoke softly, his tone apologetic. “It just kinda…felt right. Y’know, heat of the moment kinda thing.” 

Adonis gave a small smile. For some reason, it was heartwarming to him that Koga kissing him felt right. It felt like a natural inclination for the other boy when he was high from the adrenaline pumping in his veins. “It’s okay. You don’t have to ask to kiss me, Oogami.” Adonis spoke softly. “Because you are my boyf-” Koga quickly jumped, swiftly bringing his mouth to Adonis’ mouth, muffling his voice. If Koga’s cheeks were rosy after they had kissed, then this time his face was bright red. His golden eyes were wide and he looked incredibly flustered. The words ‘endearing’ and ‘cute’ bounced around in his head to describe how Koga looked at that very moment. 

“Not so loud! What if..other people walked past and heard you?” He exclaimed. “I can’t even begin to imagine what that damn vampire would say. Or, worse,” Koga visibly shivered. “Hakaze…senpai.” The last name was said through gritted teeth. Koga backed away from Adonis, bringing his hands up to ruffle his own hair. 

“Ugh!! It’s terrifying just thinkin’ ‘bout it…!” He yelled in frustration. Adonis moved closer to Koga, gently rubbing the small of Koga’s back. Koga relaxed into Adonis’ touch, though he was still grumbling under his breath. 

“I apologise. I’ll mind my volume in the future.” Adonis spoke softly, and Koga turned around to face him. He stared at Adonis for a few seconds before averting his gaze again. 

“So how was it?” He asked, his voice small and quiet. The blush from just now never dissipated but rather than from embarrassment, this time it was because he was flustered. “The kiss…I meant.” He added, just in case he was not being clear in his initial question. 

“I thought it was nice…You tasted like mint.” Adonis answered, a gentle smile gracing his features. “I liked the kiss. It did feel right.” 

Koga grumbled something under his breath, looking away, because if he kept on staring at him, he might just spontaneously combust on the spot, especially after everything Adonis just said. 

A knock on the door was heard, shocking the pair, Koga jumped out of Adonis’ arms and he turned to the door. A soft female voice spoke. “Adonis, Koga, are you both okay? There was a lot of noise and you have been in there for a long time…” Anzu asked, probably worried that the both of them may have fallen down or something to that effect. 

“We’re fine!” Koga answered loudly. “We…just knocked some stuff over! We’re still a lil’ hyperactive from the performance.” 

Anzu was silent for a moment. “Okay. Just be careful, you shouldn’t be getting hurt.” She spoke. 

“Mhmm, yep we will be careful! You go do ya own thing, we’ll get dressed and be out in a bit!” Koga responded. Anzu stayed silent for a bit, seemingly hesitant. She made a small sound of acknowledgement. Adonis and Koga watched under the door as her shadow slowly disappeared from the door. 

Koga visibly and audibly heaved a huge sigh of relief. “We should…probably actually get dressed.” Adonis spoke, after Koga calmed himself down. The other boy looked at him, his cheeks still slightly pink, before he nodded and straightened himself up. 

When they had gotten dressed and met up with the rest, Koga could’ve sworn Kaoru gave a sort of look to Rei, who only smirked in response. Koga knew Rei catches onto things really quickly, it’s almost scary how observant he can be sometimes, but there was no way they already knew! Koga was just overthinking.

The first time Adonis had to leave for another country due to his solo activities was right around Christmas. Koga had been the one to send Adonis off at the airport. Koga was never one for public displays of affection, even if they hugged or held hands in public, it would end as soon as it had started. “I just don’t want people to…say things.” was what Koga would always say. And he was right, the both of them were idols with an image to uphold and project, and a fanbase to cater to. What would the media say if they were caught in an intimate embrace? How will their fans react? What will Anzu need to do to clean up the mess they created?

But when they hugged in the airport, Koga hugged a little tighter, stayed in Adonis’ arms a little longer. Almost as if he was afraid that once he lets go, Adonis will disappear, like a fleeting touch, a touch that lasts for a split second, or like dust in the wind. Adonis liked it, he felt like that was Koga’s way to tell him to stay. “Just a little while longer.” and “I wished you didn’t have to go.” were sentiments that were not expressed verbally, but conveyed through Koga’s actions. 

Koga had begrudgingly let go, and he nuzzled his face into his own scarf, one that Adonis had lovingly got for him. They both stayed silent, watching each other’s breaths in the winter air. Adonis was the first one to break the silence.

“I’ll be back in two weeks.” He spoke and Koga scoffed, mumbling a quiet “I know that, stupid.” 

“Take care of yourself, okay! I don't want you to return to me injured or somethin’, get it! If you do, I’ll beat ya ass.” Koga grumbled. Though his words were harsh, Adonis knew they held no real weight. ‘Return to me’, Koga had said, Adonis realised. Not ‘return here’ or even ‘return to us’. ‘To me.’ Adonis felt a warm fuzzy feeling erupt from his chest.

“I know, I will be sure to take good care of myself, you won’t have to worry.”

“Tch, who said I was worried?” Koga scoffed, insistent on keeping his tough guy act up. “The plane’s leavin’ soon. You should go before you really miss your flight.” 

“Oh, you’re right. Goodbye then, Oogami. See you in two weeks.” Adonis smiled, before turning around and rushing away to catch his flight. Koga fidgeted a little, watching as Adonis’ figure got smaller and smaller as he departed. He let out one last huff, before turning around and leaving the airport. 

In the days to come, he diligently counted the days until Adonis would return, but like hell, would he let anyone find out, not Rei, not Kaoru, and especially not Adonis. He would just straight up die if anyone were to ever find out just how much Koga, the lone wolf of UNDEAD, actually misses his boyfriend. And he didn’t just miss Adonis, Koga thought about Adonis at every waking hour. From the moment he opened his eyes to the moment his head hit the pillows, not a minute passes where Koga didn’t think about Adonis, even if it was just a fleeting thought. Even after long calls with Adonis, sometimes video calls where Koga could clearly see Adonis’ hotel room, Koga would still find himself longing to hear more of Adonis’ voice, wishing to see more of Adonis’ face, wanting to be as close to Adonis as physically possible. 

As the fateful day drew closer, Koga found himself unable to sleep, constantly tossing and turning in his bed at night, to the point where Leon had to move from sleeping with Koga on his bed, to sleeping on the floor. Tatsumi even had to ask if Koga was alright, in the middle of the night. 

He felt helpless, and was more moody than usual. If this was what it would be like every time Adonis was not around, he would rather Adonis just never leave his side. But he couldn’t be so selfish. Koga was not the only person who needed Adonis. UNDEAD needed Adonis, his family needed Adonis, the track club needed Adonis. There was an entire world that needed Adonis, Koga could not just keep Adonis forever to himself, no matter how hard he tried or wished. What he could do, however, was channel all these negative feelings into the only form of art he knew — music. So that’s exactly what he did, fingers strumming his electric guitar, alone in the practice room where Adonis and Koga would practice together after school. 

When Adonis landed, Koga was the first person he saw at the airport. Koga held out his arms when he spotted Adonis, inviting him into a warm, inviting embrace. Adonis had nearly dropped everything right then and there just to rush into Koga’s arms. Adonis squeezed Koga tightly, just like he had when they first confessed, except this time Koga did not protest. He simply returned Adonis’ squeeze, he was just happy to be back in Adonis’ arms once again. 

Maybe Koga could allow himself to be selfish, even just for a short while, before the world calls for Adonis once again. “...Do you want to sleep with me in my dorm tonight? Kazehaya-senpai won’t be back until sunrise…” He asked in a quiet voice, as they walked back to ES, hand in hand.

Adonis could feel his heart flutter as his chest filled with love threatening to combust. “Yes…Also I have a question, if you don’t mind me asking.” 

“Shoot.”

“Did you miss me? At all?” 

Koga’s cheeks flared red, and he averted his eyes away from Adonis’. “No. Why would I miss you? We called almost every day.” He scoffed, holding his head up high. He had an image to project, and if Koga didn’t tell him the truth, Adonis would be none the wiser. 

“Sakuma-senpai was texting me…” Adonis spoke, and Koga whipped his head around to just stare straight at Adonis, his eyes wide. “He told me a lot of things.”

“About what?” Koga asked, his voice unusually higher pitched. “What did he tell you about?” 

“About UNDEAD’s activities for the past two weeks.” Adonis said. “And about you.” 

Koga could feel the temperature rise, despite it still being winter. “W-What? ‘M gonna kill that fucking vampire!” Koga chided, beginning to list out ways he would make sure Rei suffers for the rest of his living life. 

Adonis smiled, and he just held up Koga’s hand, pressing a soft kiss to it. “If it makes you feel better, I miss you a lot too.” Adonis softly spoke. Koga looked away, feeling as though if he were to look at Adonis he would just explode on the spot. 

“Yeah, yeah, whatever.” He huffed, and continued walking towards their intended destination, hands still interlocked with Adonis’. 

Deep down, Koga knew it wasn’t just whatever, but he couldn’t exactly pinpoint what he was feeling. Maybe it was relief that Adonis had missed him just as Koga had, maybe it was the thought that whenever Koga thought about Adonis, the other boy was thinking the same about him. That made Koga’s stomach do flips, his heart beating with love, and he expressed that love by holding Adonis’ hand tighter. He hoped Adonis knew that he didn’t regard Adonis’ feelings as just ‘whatever’, he just could never find it in himself to express his feelings with his words. He hoped his actions were enough to tell Adonis that Koga did miss him a lot, as much as, if not more than Adonis did. 

The both of them woke up the next morning to Koga’s alarm, their limbs tangled with one another. Leon was also bouncing on the bed and licking their faces. Koga was the first one to get up from the bed, moving to prepare Leon’s food while Adonis continued to slumber. He looked so peaceful, sleeping so soundly, Koga thought. Koga wondered what Adonis was dreaming about. Maybe he was dreaming about having a barbeque, or maybe he was dreaming about performing with UNDEAD. Koga liked to think Adonis was dreaming about the both of them, living together with Leon, an idyllic existence away from idol life. Adonis seemed like the type to want to live a normal life once he settled down, Koga thought. 

Koga wasn’t quite sure what he wanted after he were to settle down with Adonis, but for now, he’s just focused on his career, on his music, and as long as Adonis is there with him every step of the way, he would be okay with anything.

They celebrated their first anniversary by going to a summer festival. Adonis was invited by Arashi. “You can totally bring Koga-chan along!” Arashi had excitedly suggested. “We’re all most likely going to split up anyways, you can go on a lovely date with him~” Adonis’ cheeks flushed pink at the mention of “Koga” and “date”, but he just answered with, “I’ll ask him.” 

Arashi giggled, “Alright~ Just give me an answer by the end of the week!” 

Koga scoffed at Adonis’ question, but he agreed, saying that he was only going just because he had nothing to do that day and it had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that Adonis had casually mentioned Arashi’s remarks and his mind was promptly going into overdrive just thinking about a summer festival date with Adonis. 

“Do I look fine?” Adonis asked Arashi for the nth time in that hour, dressed in a yukata that Souma had kindly helped him wear. He was anxious, constantly fiddling with his sleeves. 

The girl gave a heavy sigh. “You look just fine. Don’t worry, once Koga-chan comes he will be so enamoured with you that he won’t even be able to speak.” 

“Nngh, I think you look good, Otogari-kun.” Mika piped up. “All of us can agree on that, ain’t that right, Ayase-kun?” 

“H-Huh?” Mayoi gasped, shocked at the mention of his name. He took a short look at Adonis. “Uuu, Otogari-san looks great…” He shied away from Adonis’ gaze, opting instead to meekly peek from behind Mika. 

“See, we all agree that you look fine. So you don’t have to keep asking every minute!” Arashi exasperatedly remarked. 

“Adonis!” Koga’s voice called out, and Adonis promptly turned around towards the source of his voice. His eyes landed on Koga, who was also wearing a yukata, just as Adonis was. The both of them stared at each other in stunned silence, probably mentally gushing about how good the other person looked in a yukata. 

Arashi giggled. “Well now that Koga-chan is here, we’ll take our leave! Have fun~” She waved goodbye before walking off to the festival with Mika and Mayoi trailing behind her. Now it was only Koga and Adonis standing outside the festival, both of them silent as they tried to find the words to say to each other. You look amazing, Adonis wanted to say. Beautiful, gorgeous, stunning.

“You look amazing, Oogami.” Adonis complimented, and Koga just cleared his throat, running his hand through his hair. 

“You look amazin’ too.” Koga mumbled, realising that he has never really seen Adonis in a yukata before, and he wondered if he got any help with wearing it. Koga himself had to bite down on his pride, and asked Kaoru for help. And that blonde bastard had the balls to tease Koga! “Uwah, our little Koga-kun wants to look good for his boyfriend! How adorable~” Kaoru gushedHe did eventually help Koga with his yukata though. But just thinking about all that Kaoru said was enough to give him shivers. He’ll make sure Kaoru regrets ever teasing Koga later, but for now, he had a summer festival date with Adonis to look forward to. “Uh, we should get going! ‘M sure you wouldn’t wanna miss the fireworks later.” Adonis nodded, and held out his hand for Koga to hold. Koga blinked at his gesture, but before he could speak, Adonis piped up, “There’s a lot of people here, I don’t want to lose you.” Koga’s cheeks flared red. 

“Wha-! How can you just say things like that with a straight face?” Koga spluttered, flustered. Regardless, he still took Adonis’ hand and they walked together, hand in hand into the festival. 

The festival went by fast for both of them. Between blurs of buying snacks from the stalls and playing various games, all that really mattered was that both of them were having fun and enjoying themselves. They had found a quiet spot away from the festival, atop a hill where the fireworks could be seen in their full glory. Adonis had placed all the soft toys that they (mostly Koga) won from the games on the ground beside them. They even managed to snag a goldfish that Adonis said he was going to 

“Did you have fun today?” Adonis asked as Koga put a takoyaki into his mouth. 

“Yea, I had lots of fun.” Koga said, smiling as he picked up another takoyaki and bringing it towards Adonis’ mouth. Adonis opened his mouth to eat the takoyaki that the other boy had so lovingly offered. “What ‘bout you?” 

Adonis smiled. “I had fun too, thanks to you.”

“Tch.” Koga turned away from Adonis. Adonis fiddled with something, before pulling out two small keychains, one of a wolf and the other, a bear. 

“Why’d ya get those for?” Koga asked, watching as Adonis handed him the wolf keychain. 

“It just reminded me of us. You know, you’re the wolf and I’m the bear.” He answered. “I also…” He reached into his sleeve, before pulling out two plastic rings. “Today’s our first anniversary. And…I’m aware these rings are just toys, but I would love to get you an actual one someday, so stay with me at least until I can get you the actual ring.” He spoke, slipping the ring onto Koga’s left ring finger. Just then, the fireworks started, exploding in a beautiful array of colours in the sky.

Koga’s eyes stayed glued onto Adonis’ form, watching as the ring was put on his finger. The fireworks in the sky seemed to be exactly what he was feeling at that moment. The sounds of the fireworks in the background matched the sound of the pounding in his chest. 

“A-are you proposin’ to me right now?” Koga blurted out, his face flushing red. 

Adonis gave a small sound. “Did it..Did it seem that way?” he asked. 

“What kinda question is that? Yes, it did seem like you were proposing t’ me, otherwise I wouldn’t be askin’ you.” Koga chided. 

Adonis stayed silent for a while, still holding onto Koga’s hand. “Yes, I am proposing to you.” He spoke. “Would you like to spend the rest of your life with me, Oogami?” 

Koga could feel steam coming out of his ears at this point. How could Adonis look so calm when saying those words? Here Koga is, feeling as though he was just about to combust on the spot but Adonis just stared at him, an earnest look, awaiting Koga’s answer. 

“I want to have more anniversaries with you, go to sleep with you beside me and wake up with you beside me. I want to perform with you for the rest of my life, make more music with you. Even if you say no now, I’ll wait and stay by your side.” Adonis continued, still holding Koga’s hand. The sounds of the exploding fireworks were drowned out entirely by Adonis’ voice and Koga just takes in all of Adonis’ words. There was sincerity in his words that Koga wholeheartedly believed in. But more than that, he wanted the same things that Adonis did, he didn’t want this anniversary to be the last one they spend together. 

“I-”

“Stop.” Koga spoke. “Gosh, how can you say such…mushy things with a straight face like that…” He pulled back his hand from Adonis, holding it up to show him the ring that Adonis just put on him. “I let you put the ring on my finger, didn’t I? I think you already know the answer.” 

Adonis smiled, the kind of smile that would warm anyone’s heart. Koga’s heart made a leap. “I’m glad, Oogami.” He said. “I love you.” Koga took the other ring from Adonis, and now it was his turn to put the ring onto Adonis’ finger.

“I love you too.” Koga responded once he was done slipping the ring on, and they leaned closer into each other, pressing their lips together in a tender kiss, a seal to the agreement that they made that day, atop that hill. The fireworks painted a colourful backdrop behind them. They were each other’s firsts, first love, first date, first kiss, and now they will be each other’s forever and always, just as the rings that sit on their fingers signifies.

— Please do not request for me to write anything that I've stated as a no-go zone here.

— I have every right to ignore your requests if I deem it outrageous or I do not have the ideas, time or motivation to write it. 

— The reader will always be kept gender-neutral unless the request asks for a specific gender.

— Indicate which character you'd like me to write for. If you put something like "up to you", your request will be ignored. Up to five characters or one unit is allowed but please indicate if this is a polyamory x reader or individual characters x reader so I don't get confused!

— When requesting scenarios, be specific about what you would like me to write. For example, vague requests such as "Date with (character)" will either be ignored or be put at the bottom of my priority list if I ever decide to write for it. Please add details to your requests, such as "Dinner date at the arcade with (character)" etc. This way, I will have an idea on what sort of scenario you'd like to see, and you'll receive that scenario of yours as you wanted it. Go crazy on the details, I don't mind! (Unless they really don't make sense - no examples for now, but I'll update this part if I ever get such a request) 

— When requesting headcanons, please describe too! E.g. (Character) with a clingy s/o. I need such descriptions to more accurately deliver what you've requested.

i am a 100% sfw blog and a minor. please do not request any nsfw or dark themes (smut, yandere, etc.) i personally do not particularly care for the subjects aforementioned, but take it somewhere else! i will write for most genres outside of these two.

i only write ‘x reader’ works (both romantic & platonic) and the reader will always be gender neutral unless stated otherwise.

when requesting for multiple people, please keep it to a maximum of three (unless you are requesting a whole unit, or otherwise specified)

that being said, when requesting for units, you can request current units, past units, and shuffle units.

i don’t mind if requests are vague or specific, so long as you include who you want your req to be written for. i will rarely write for a request if no character is specified.
