Ripley is a foodie. She loves trying new foods and rarely meets a meal she didn't like.

Ripley prides herself on being able to build anything out of anything. She loves a good challenge and loves to think outside of the box. However, she hates being given a specific task and being told what to do with this creative energy.

Ripley had an old book about dinosaurs growing up that was one of the few she actually owned, and she's retained an above-average, arguably bordering encyclopedic knowledge of dinosaur species.

🤔 THINKING FACE — what are some of your oc's quirks/mannerisms?

Hestia is friendly and chatty, and has a tendency to use touch a lot when she's around or talking to someone. It's, in part, an important piece of Deaf communication and how she grew up greeting and getting the attention of others-- but in part, she's also genuinely the type that wants to provide comfort with a hand on the shoulder or a quick hug, and may put off someone who's less comfortable with touch.

When she's nervous, she has a tendency to bite her nails or pick at them. Her nails are probably not in great shape while the Games are happening...

Thank you for the music rec!! I listened to it and yes agreed, sent straight to my Chil playlist. Songs are my bread and butter when I have character brainrot bc like with web weavings I feel like there are so many emotions and thoughts you can communicate about something so simply through one… (Which for anyone interested here’s my web weaving tag, got 2 about Chil). Ok everyone saw this coming but this ask ran away from me and I ramble about some song lyrics I associate with Chil & different facets of his life below the cut. Some people find my, ehem, heated rambles about Chil entertaining, this is your cue to get out the popcorn.

When thinking about songs for Chil I have 3 angles I take: About Chilchuck, about him and his wife, or about him & Marcille. Marchil is so engraved into me with their arcs together, that they’re like the concept of closure and letting go and letting yourself live again to me, sorry for all the non-enjoyers… I think currently my top song for him is Jackrabbit by San Fermin, because it combines all three it makes me go wild. It’s about trepidation… Throwing yourself into it even despite the fear (working with traps, survival in poverty where you have to rush & hustle), or just staying there paralyzed(not reaching out to his wife). Flight or freeze!! Saying goodbyes and saying hellos!! Not dying alone!! The life cycle of a wild rabbit living and dying, the baton pass race of life from generation to generation!! Chil and his daughters even!!! Going through life at a frenzied pace!! It is so Chilchuck and so marchil, and the music does give that hurried and scared energy to me too, and sigh the Marcille side to it with fear of death too…

Extra fun context but the other day on the discord server we were talking about what animal each character’s fursona would be as we do and I thought of a rabbit for Chilchuck: Quick footed, ‘cowardly’, small and frail and seen as weak 🙃, athletic and slender, pulls stunts, stressed out, has very fine hearing and has good instincts, etc. And ofc that fits really well with Marcille since she’s kinda associated with dungeon rabbits hehe~ But I think while Marcille’s 100% the cute round rabbit Chil’s more like a brown hare, more wild and like, more like a jackalope if we’re still doing monsters... I do lowkey find it more fun than his associated monster being mimics because he’s crabby, because they’re clever (with where they place themselves) and because of how he has a soft shell but soft insides, lol.

OKAY so that’s my song pick with the main 3 facets sure, now I’ll share some lyrics for each 3 sides separatedly 😈 Kinda summarizing my web weavings for him thus far. If we start with Chilchuck by himself we have… Enter One by Shelby Merry and Drunk by The Living Tombstone

12. how long does it typically take for your muse to fall asleep?

James uses up so much energy in the day-to-day that when it's time for sleep, it is time for sleep and the man is out in about five minutes flat. It takes a lot of energy to be James Potter, that and hair tonics, and sleep is a great way to refill his amounts of one of those.

15. how many hours of sleep does your muse typically get?

He tries to get a full eight but isn't really willing to get less than five. Of course, with the way the world is the actual number of hours tends to vary pretty wildly depending on pranks, school load, and, of course, the three brilliant fools he's shared a living space with since he was eleven. Of course, there's always a night or two a month where he's guaranteed to get very little sleep at all, so he likes to try to stockpile it in anticipation.

20. does your muse have any pre-bedtime rituals or routines (like facial care, meditation, shower, medications, etc)? do they have any pre-bedtime activities like reading, playing video games, going on their phone, etc?

James Potter is a man of means and partially-earned vanity. He has a five step routine for his hair alone in the evenings, one perfected over the years especially since his hair becomes completely unmanageable without it. He also really values feeling clean and will insist on a shower every evening as well, something Euphemia drilled into him. He usually likes to talk with his friends before he goes to sleep, making sure they're doing ok and that the day wasn't too terrible.

22. is your muse sensitive to light while they sleep, or do they not mind it?

James sleeps like the dead and barring absolutely disaster or breakfast he is not waking up before he is good and ready. No amount of sunlight or moonlight is going to be stopping that.

Oh boy, let's go with Druid, my clone OC from Islander Squad from the 41st Elite! He shows up with the remains of his squad in this chapter from Far Past the Ring. He's on the left, below, with the beard and ponytail! Notice the painted braids on his helmet! :)

🍓 - Having worked and lived on Kashyyyk for quite some time, Druid is partial to Wookiee fruits and vegetables deemed safe for humans to eat. He is especially partial to Chyntuck, an oniony vegetable, and soups made from celonslay. As a result, while on Medina Station, he's secretly ecstatic when Sjael Drummer makes him a massive bowl of vegetable soup with noodles...his first meal free from the Empire.

📝 - Druid is a HEAVY note taker, having to translate the various tongues of Wookiees while serving the Republic on Kashyyyk. His notes on Wookiee speech patterns have also helped him with understanding Seperatist message decryptions...as well as other languages, such as Belter Creole.

💤- Druid is somewhat more on edge then his squad mates as a commander. He tends to wake up quickly and takes a while to get back to sleep properly.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 FAMILY WITH MOTHER, FATHER, SON AND DAUGHTER — how many people are in your oc's immediate family? how many people are in your oc's extended family? do they have aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, etc? who in their family are they closest with? are they close with their birth family, or do they have a found family?

Ripley is the youngest with two older brothers, and she still lives at home with her parents and next oldest sibling (though she's trying to move out soon). She has a fairly large extended family nearby in Six, and they all spent time with family growing up. Ripley has a good family at home, but she never felt particularly understood by any of them growing up, she was always a little too energetic and eccentric to fit in. She's made a couple of friends, but the only person she felt ever really got her-- even matched her-- was Hart.
