Link. Long live Excel lol. Steaming services don't get paid by views so it's no surprise that Netflix was willing to share the views data when the real metric is how much each show/movie contributes to getting or retaining subscribers and weighed against licensing and production costs to determine viability of continuing the show. But Netflix will never release that information for their competitors to see.

The main reason why #1 Nielsen rated Neftlix shows get cancelled is because they're front-loaded success, meaning people start watching but quickly lose interest and don’t finish out the series. Gilmore Girls has impressive completion rate from season 1 through season 7, which helped explain why Netflix was willing to produce a revival limited Gilmore Girls season. Gilmore Girls has 29.4 billion viewed minutes for the first 6 months of 2023, nearly 3 times the number of SPN, and averages out to 13 million viewers per episode. To put in discourse contexts I get from my Ask box, Gilmore Girls has 5 times more viewers than The Boys and is a proven cultural mainstay after 20 years. Also, Gilmore Girls' 7 seasons nearly beat out Grey Anatomy's 19 seasons. So little wonder that Jared is going outside the SPN-only conventions.

Supernatural ended 2022 with 18.8 billion viewed minutes at 21.8 million viewed minutes per episode, which averages out to 66,852 viewers per episode. In the first 6 months of 2023, Supernatural has 11.4 billion viewed minutes so it's on its way to beating their last year's record. Supernatural's completion rate is far less impressive than Gilmore Girls, but nonetheless has steady viewers through to the final season. Similar to the live & 7day ratings, most of the audience dip happened after season 4. If either Netflix or WBD plans to produce a SPN reboot/revival that stars both Jared and Jensen, then my guess it will be based on the first 3 seasons' formula i.e just two main leads and not have to pay for additional regular actors, so at best the low-tier recurring actors will only be back for an one-off, if that.

How about 13 and 16 for the TWEWY ask game?

13. what would you like to see in the future of the series?

First and foremost, my wish is that the series continues to be beloved and thus kept relevant by its fanbase, even if we don't receive anything new. I'm not incredibly hopeful for new entries, but that's not entirely a bad thing (and considering NEO's 14-year gap, anything could happen, so I won't say the chance is zero!). That said, I feel generally the same way about any potential sequels as I did when the "new 7 days" was first announced - I don't really want a sequel for sequel's sake, but if the team has an idea they want realized, I'd love to see it. That's one of the reasons I so wanted NEO to happen - because I had a distinct feeling the original "new 7days" project had been cancelled, and I'd always wondered about that idea that never saw light.

As for more specific and self-indulgent answers, the things I'd want most if I had infinite money and could fund the team myself:

TWEWY Prequel: This was my number one want before NEO. The original game concluded nicely, so most of its loose ends lie in the past. Joshua's rise to Composerhood is a fascinating topic, along with Kariya's hints about a previous long game occurring in the past and his familiarity with taboo noise. There's just enough information there to suggest the team knew more about all this than what they ultimately chose to share, and it kills me a little that we'll likely never know what exactly they were thinking when they wrote that. In all honesty, I still want this game, but it faces some competition from -

The Shinjuku Story: This one I mostly want because I feel like most of the story has to exist already somewhere - it almost feels like a missing entry in the series. I think I'd like to see this as a "Neku's adventures with Coco as they investigate Shinjuku and uncover the story of what led to its destruction" game, but a split timeline would also be nice. My guess is you'd play as Tsugumi during the pre-inversion sections in that case. I really, really would like a twewy prequel, but between this and that, I feel this one is in more dire need of telling. Part of the reason NEO is so convoluted is because they're trying to allude to an entire game's worth of backstory that doesn't actually exist in any other format. (On a side note, in an alternate universe I'd have liked NEO to be split between Neku in Shinjuku w/ Coco and Tsugumi, and Rindo's group working with Beat in Shibuya. Minamimoto could be on either side depending on what role Coco has for him. It'd feel a bit more relevant to AND that way, and be able to tell the Shinjuku story without losing the Shubuya tie that the team deemed necessary.)

Should they determine they're never going to make any new entries in the series, I really want a data book. I'd love to see all the plot bits that never made it into writing (which I assume they won't share now on the off-chance they do use the IP again). Novelizations of the two aforementioned plotlines would also be very welcome as an alternative to full games.

This is less of an actual want and more of a pipe dream, but I think it'd be neat to see the original remade in the style of NEO. I don't think it's quite possible to replicate what made the original's gameplay special on systems that aren't the DS / 3DS, so that ship has sailed - so a re-invention of the battle system to work in a single-screen 3D space could be a lot of fun and very stylish. Would it be as good as the original? I don't know. But it sure would look cool.

Please, please let Sora make good on his promise to see Neku in Shibuya in KH4, I'll actually buy the game if you do SE. Even better if it's NEO Neku. And let Neku bring his friends so I can finally have a 3D NEO Joshua model to spin around and get a reference for that hairstyle facing right I'm begging you SE

The original game is absolutely perfect except in one regard.

I'm willing to forgive it for the original DS version but I really would have liked to have them added to Final. We have four pin sets, but for a game heavy on fashion (especially with the brand chart mechanic) we have to manually change threads piece-by-piece. And read through all the descriptions again and again looking for that one effect...again. I think I played with equipment sets a lot less than I would have otherwise because of this.

But fine, Final is an enhanced port so I'll forgive it too.

But then we get NEO, a brand new, modern RPG in the year 2021...

And we still. Do not. Have. Threads macros.

Another big one for me (but probably more personal) is the total loss of ground-Joshua in Solo and Final remix once you unlock levitation. I understand that, unfortunately, switching mid-combat wouldn't really work anymore, but I would have at least liked a toggle in a menu somewhere.

"But Yoshaiya," you say, "why do you need that? What insane person would actually use ground combat Joshua once you unlock the vastly superior god-powers-angel-beam-flinging-levitating-actually can kill things Joshua-"

I'm not going to get into story details pet peeves since surely you're tired of reading this by now and wondering when I'm finally going to shut up - I'll just quietly note that while I do love both games, I do have some story nitpicks regarding NEO. But that's not something I want to get into right now. I'd rather not discuss my misgivings without also going into what I like about it, and most likely, neither you nor I have time for that essay right now. (Also, before I say anything about what I like / don't like regarding NEO's writing, I'd definitely want to give it another replay.)

As a minor one though...I would have liked to see more familiar faces among NEO's minor cast. Shibuya's a big town and always changing, but it's almost sad how the old faces are just...gone, three years later. Off the top of my head, I remember Eiji Oji and Ken Doi, and K-1 Okada from J of the M...and that's it. I'm actually kind of hoping I overlooked someone at this point. This isn't actually a pet peeve, mind, just...a missed opportunity I'm a little bummed about.

Snippet from my BB fic under the cut. (Snippet technically not from the last 7days. But I haven't been allowed to post from this one so shh. Let me be excited.)

The hospital lights flicker as Steve rushes through the emergency doors. Eddie's body has gone limp in his arms and he hasn't been answering any of their pleas to talk to them, to keep his eyes open, to stay alive. 

"HELP! PLEASE HELP-"

The place is in chaos. Doctors and nurses running between patients, people gathered in large clumps trying to escape the disaster zone outside, coming to the first safe place they could think of. Steve spots an empty gurney, hurries his way over to it and gently lays Eddie down, hands hovering uselessly over the makeshift bandages they wrapped tightly around his wounds, now completely soaked through and dark red. 

Steve reaches a hand out and grabs the shoulder of a doctor hurrying by, eyes desperate and voice cracking, "Please. He's going to die. Please." 

The doctor looks down at Eddie's pale form and nods, calling over to a nurse. Steve watches as they wheel Eddie away, feeling his own eyes grow heavy as the darkness pulls him under. 

Steve wakes with a start. He's on the ground, his head cradled in Robin's lap. She's crying above him, hand running through his dirty hair soothingly, keeping her voice soft and calm as she talks. "Hey-hey. You're alright. The doctor said you had an adrenaline crash." 

Steve's eyes flit around as he searches for the rest of his people. He spots Nancy who shoots him a small smile, but no one else. He feels panic rise in his throat. "Where's Dustin? Where are the kids? Is Max okay? Eddie- Is Eddie…"

Robin shushes him, hands moving from his hair to cup the sides of his face, her thumbs rubbing softly on his cheeks. “It’s okay. They’re all…” She closes her eyes and takes a steadying breath, tears streaming down her face. “They’re alive.” 

Steve doesn’t miss the hesitance in her voice on that last word, like she’s very pointedly leaving off for now. Steve pushes himself up to sit between her and Nancy. Pulls Robin into his side where she turns to cry quietly on his shoulder. 

Nancy glances over and he sees her hand reach out toward him before she stops herself, like she’s not sure she should, like she’s not sure where they stand after…everything. Steve closes the distance between them, taking her delicate hand in his and squeezing her fingers reassuringly. Whether she loves him or not, wants to be with him, or not, he still loves her. He’ll always be there for her. He hears her let out a soft sigh of relief as she leans into him as well, finally slumping from her alert position on the wall. They sit like that for a long time, the three of them huddled together on the dirty floor of the E.R. that is still frantic and fluid around them, silently hoping everyone they love is safe. Is alive. That they’ll stay alive.

Been in my drafts forever, 7days, and didn't know how else to finish this one. Please enjoy!

Days were rarely ever quiet around the Heartslabyul dorm. What with Deuce and the others causing chaos and irking Riddle every day. Today, however, Cater got the rare treat of being out of the dorm and with his lovely partner. Sounds like a good day to him, if anyone were to ask. 

Cater may love everyone in his dorm a bit, it definitely was not enough to stay when offered a night out with the one person he truly felt safe with. Cater expected to have a day with his partner out in town in cute cafes or even looking for picturesque sights for beautiful selfies. What he got, however, was his other half pampering him with homemade food and some good old hair brushing. 

“Honey! This is amazing! How did you get the spice level just right?” Cater was thoroughly enjoying the spicy dishes that you made with jamils guidance. “Jamil was willing to help me with spicy recipes because I helped him take care of a sick Kalim who didn’t want to stay in bed.”

Cater choked a bit, after taking a drink of water, he laughs at the mental image of you trying to keep the rowdy light music club member in bed while poor Jamil takes care of everything else. “Did Jamil at least get to take a break while Kalim was sleeping?” You shake your head and smooth some of Caters hair back from his forehead while speaking to him softly.

“Jamil took a 10 minute nap while I sang them both a lullaby. They were both so tired that they couldn’t see straight.” You rest your elbow on the table and raise your banana milkshake to your lips and sip through the straw. “Kalim slept through the rest of the night and Jamil didn’t have as big of eye bags as normal. Suffice it to say that they both got some much needed sleep.”

Cater loved you dearly, even though sweets were something he didn’t like all that much, he still shared food and snakes with you sometimes. No matter how many times you told him that he didn’t need to, sweet things weren’t something he would be forced to eat with you around. “I want a sip of your shake. Can i?” He shot you the cutest puppy dog eyes and you frowned a bit.

“Cate, you don’t need to force yourself to drink something sweet.” Cater looks at you with soft, warm eyes and grins a little. “The banana milkshakes you buy aren’t that sweet, they just taste like bananas and milk. C’mon, please?” When he puts it like that, you really can’t say no, can you?

You tilt the shake toward his mouth and watch as he sips at it while making eye contact. “Told you it wasn’t sweet. You never buy overly sweet things when it comes to shakes.” Cater runs one hand over your forearm that is laying closest to him. Goosebumps rise in the wake of his gentle, teasing touch.

Having finished his food, Cater gets up, gathers his dishes and takes them to the sink and gets to washing them. “Cater, I could have done that.” Cater laughs lightly and shakes his head gently and flashes you a smile. 

“You made all of this, invited me over and have already made my day brighter. The least I can do is wash my own dishes.” Cater pauses and thinks to himself for a moment and then jovially whines “You could give me back hugs and dry them when I’m done scrubbing them.”

Quiet days with Cater were nice, rare and all the sweeter for their rarity. Walking up behind cater and wrapping your arms around his middle and pressing your cheek into his back and you mumble against his shirt. “I’m so glad that we have days like these. We won’t have them for much longer, will we?” 

Cater didn’t know what to say to them. This was his last year on campus. Fourth years were always out, they were doing internships under mages and important figures around Twisted Wonderland. “Unless I get held back a few years!” Cater laughs in lieu of not knowing what to do or say about where they were at in their last year together.

“We’ll figure something out. I don’t even know where I'm going for internships.” Cater keeps washing the dishes and handing them over to your dish towel covered hands. The silence is soft and warm in a sense. The evening light filters through the kitchen windows and the sound of crickets chirping is the background music to your water sloshing. 

“Would you….” Cater trails off softly and his voice fades into the summer evening around you. The night keeps closing in on your time with Cater. Time seems to fly around those that you care for. There never seems to be enough time. For now, the time you have with cater and the others will be something you hold dear to your heart.

“Cater, let’s just enjoy the time we have now. I will forever be grateful for the love we share. The greatest gift the universe has given me has been my time here with you.” Your voice is soft enough to carry to his ears without grim hearing your confession from where he is napping in the common room.

Cater is truly in awe with what he sees when he looks over at you. The evening sunset casting your form in that beautiful orange light. The last glow of the day framing your head like a halo. Truly the most beautiful thing he has ever seen on campus, hell, maybe even the most beautiful thing he has ever seen in the entirety of his life. His heart threatens to beat clean out of his chest if he stares at you any longer. 

Looking back down to the last dish in his soapy hands, he whispers, “Would you like to come back to the Queendom of Roses with me?” The words leave him before he can even think of what he was asking of you. Cater heard a light gasp and then felt hands grab at his jacket. 

“Cater?” A quick movement of his hands to set the dish down and another to turn and wrap his arms around you. “I am super aware of how that sounded but please just think about it. You have a few years still. Besides, I still have to deal with family stuff.”

There, in the evening light with the sound of grim snoring and the feeling of your hearts beating against your chests, a very important decision was made. “Oh Cater, of course I will.” 

Suddenly, Carter realized how quiet the ringing in his ears had gotten. The calm was so nice. If everyday with you could be like this, Cater would gladly take it, whatever way he could.

Long post talking about some stuff in miitopia and also some stuff I dreamed of

Ok so I was playing Miitopia some recently and like- on one of my switch user account things, the miitopia save has Adaman as the hero and Volo was with him. But I was kinda- super bored with Adaman and there were multiple reasons I wanted a switch online membership on my main account which has my other miis so I did stuff with that.

The save with Adaman and Volo is one that I started a long time back and had intentionally stayed at the first area because of not having the rest of my miis and not really wanting to make others but I replayed the first stage a lot because I think there's something fun about being comically overpowered. Also I didn't want to progress further into the story as to add more party members when I don't have any prepared.

So back when I first started that save, the original idea was always to wait until the next time I had a good enough reason to get the online membership on my main and then get the 7day free trial on the save in question. So I could get the Volo and Adaman I made on this save (plus the au Burgh I had made in that save for some reason) and bring them to my main and also get a bunch of miis from my main and bring them to this save. I really hate that I need an online membership just to grab miis from the same switch but here we are :[

So anyhoo as I said before I was bored with Adaman. I got the idea to play as Drayton instead but I wasn't about to delete the save and start over. I would lose 3 miis I worked pretty hard on and a bunch of leveling up progress.

Around this time, the switch online membership store thingy has a Drayton icon thing that I could get so I decided to quickly finish up a bunch of unfinished miis on my main save + make several new miis that I wanted and then get the online membership on my main to get the Drayton icon and the 7 day free trial membership on the other save. After that, bring the 3 miis on that save to my main and then edit the mii Adaman I was playing as and make it Drayton instead.

So after that, the duo of adventurers was Drayton with Volo. That's super random and I'm a big fan of random. And with grabbing a bunch of miis from my main, I got the other bb league elite four members. It would be funny for the rest of the 3 to become the cerberus boss in late game and Volo isn't an obstacle for that plan where he is so that turns out great.

Anyhoo

The reason I wanted to bring that up is to have a better explanation for why a specific pair of characters were friends in a dream.

Drayton and Volo were the main characters of this dream. I was Drayton in the dream and Volo was with me.

It got pretty wild. I don't remember all of this dream because I was sleeping for 12 hours and I had woken up and gone back to sleep a few times after having this dream.

Volo had a capture styler like a pokemon ranger and had to calm down a blastoise that was way too close to a group of baby chickens. There were two other pokemon but they were not revealed as anything other than unidentifiable silhouettes.

After the pokemon were captured, Drayton asked Volo "what happens if a capture styler is used on a human?"

Volo said "I don't know but it's against the rules in the pokemon ranger handbook."

Drayton says back "I want to know. Just use it on me without telling anyone."

So Volo did and the line of the capture styler just turned red and vanished.

Drayton said "It tickled. So that's what happens."

The blastoise got upset again and the baby chickens ran into a school room where they turned into human children and were learning about how to use swords.

Volo re-captured the blastoise and it left. Then Drayton and Volo decided to order a pizza. When the pizza man got there, it was discovered that it was a villainous monster in disguise of a pizza man.

Drayton tossed Volo the omnitrix from Ben 10 while shouting "Volo! The omnitrix!" and Volo used it to become Stinkfly and fight the monster.

Also the baby chickens who turned into human children (and an anthropomorphic goose lady) came out of the classroom to help fight the monster with their newfound sword skills.

I don't remember much else or even if I woke up before they defeated the monster but this dream was super fun anyway.

Side note, I remember seeing Volo in a pokemon masters image. I also remember hearing three different versions of Entei's battle theme/or the first capture theme both from the pokemon ranger game (those themes sound fairly similar). And one of my au Hops, specifically the one known as Reaper, was singing the most beautiful calming song I had ever heard while weird stuff was happening in the background (which is totally in character for the au Hop, as a musician and a chaos enjoyer - though often he favors rock music but he can do many kinds of melodies, with calming music also being common for him). These things happened in separate dreams.

And I had just one nightmare and it wasn't too bad. The chronic nightmares must be dying finally :D - Adding that to the list of things I'm thanking God for 🙏

I am not making any phone calls today.

Hopefully I will receive one from the water damage place (I might call another one of their offices that is nearby enough to ask them wtf is going on at the correct office and why has no one answered the phones in like 3 days or responded to the email or voicemail messages I’ve left.

Feels very karenesque to do that.

Looking at things like mail order tiny houses and house kits and stuff.

Since My Favorite SadDad is still looking to buy the farm property and cutting some trees down to make room for crops (though he has let go of the idea of keeping livestock for now) I suggested both replanting the trees in another section of the land because he was sad about the thought of cutting them down but needs to for the best flat land for farming, and finding a local Amish community and hiring them to turn some of the resulting logs into a legitimate log cabin for him since I think the house is going to need torn down and he said he was going to live in the van (my love, no). Probably best type of contractor to look at the established log barn for safety etc., too. Hell, maybe also for the farmhouse tear down.

I’m not too pleased with the way that community is run in general, no I will not elaborate, but they are a great source of knowledge and experience regarding natural-material, sustainable, long-lasting, and local climate-appropriate homes.

What's happening?! Why everyones behaving weird and sus and idk it's really muddling especially Jungkook, Yoongi and Taehyung. Why Jungkook is hiding almost everything about his relationship with Sora. It seems like Jungkook already knows something about Sora and he's like forced to not disclose those to others. Why protecting her from her wrong doings? (Even Jungkook was worried about why oc was doing at the Mall, whereas Sora was cheating on him with someone unknown. Just like "Club thing" oc mentioned). Above all, his breakup with Sora was his best day ever and yoongi points out that too. Still Jungkook whispered something and burst out laughing. What all these mean?

And there is Yoongi, who knows alot about Jungkook and his next moves. But he's not willing to share Jungkooks secrets with oc and evade further misunderstanding. Instead Yoongi is kept hiding things from oc. (Here Yoongi might know what exact deal with Jungkook and Sora, but still clearly mentioned so can't make assumptions furthermore).

And Taehyung, he is really sus here. What is his real deal with Deiji? He had all 7days text back oc but no he was busy spending time with Deiji. And when oc caught him and Deiji together, he was desperate to talk things out and clarify everything, why? Is he working for Yang too? What if Deiji is his fiancée? Idk it's just me or not, but I noticed one thing that, Taehyung didn't put effort in inviting oc to the Charity event until his mother voiced it out. BUT he was really BUSY discussing the same matter with Deiji. Whoaaa....I'm literally loading my brain with overthinking. 🤯🤯🤯

And last but certainly not least, Junho. The paintings of his says the tattooed guy is Jungkook that's what everyone's assuming but you never know, it can be anyone who's with tattooed arm just like Jungkook. It might be the UNKNOWN who was with Sora. It is kinda clear that Sora was behind this shitty attempt to destroy that poor little soul. Like we don't know what is Junho actually seeing while painting. I think it's time, either oc or Jungkook dig out the truth straight from Junho instead of blaming each other and meanwhile letting Junho's condition worsen even more.
