I’ve put it in a dual category because although Lilo is the first listed relationship, the Zarry is in no way background.

Haha, I was tempted to leave it there but this fic is so well-written, and the relationship and bond between Harry and Louis and how it mutates throughout the extended scene is just great. 

Cool Cats - FallingLikeThis - One Direction (Band) [Archive of Our Own] @fallinglikethis - 2018, T, 16k - Louis/Marcel, high school AU, hybrids, D&D. This fic is adorable, Marcel is adorable, his tail especially is completely adorable.

like a bastard on the burning sea - vashtaneradas - One Direction (Band) [Archive of Our Own] - NR, 22k, 2013 - infidelity, angst, AU. I think almost everyone in the fandom will have read this, but if you’ve been putting it off it’s time to get around to it. It hurts, but it’s beautifully written and if you’re in the right mindset it’s a wonderful read.

all this devotion - princelouisau - One Direction (Band) [Archive of Our Own] @princelouisau - E, 38k, 2022 - omegaverse, fake relationship, friends to lovers. I’m such a sucker for pining/platonic sex tropes and this fic has them in spades! 

yeah, he's a looker (but i really think it's guts that matter most) - devilinmybrain (venomedveins) - One Direction (Band) [Archive of Our Own] @thedevilinmybrain - E, 40k, 2022 - outsider (Oli) POV, canon, friendship. Honestly, I completely loved this. So intricate, so well written, so realistic - it tugs at the heartstrings and sweeps you up into it entirely.

When he comes up with a rather questionable plan to try and get Harry to ask him for help, they may just both get what they need.

A Silver Lining In A Storm (You Were Lightning, I Was Born) Harry/Louis 6k

Omega Prince Harry had always known that he was going to have an arranged marriage. But after the death of his first fiancé, a man who turned out far worse than Harry thought possible, his subsequent marriage to the man's brother leaves Harry finding it difficult to trust that everything will work out. Especially considering the only responsibility he’s aware of is to give his husband, the future king, an heir.

The Truth I Can't Explain (Smoke and Mirrors) Harry/Louis 9k

Louis Tomlinson scans the horizon. It’s dark, but his werewolf eyes are equipped for that. He sees clearly in the inky black of the forest around them. He and every other wolf can see the moment the first blood mage crosses the boundary into their compound. The mages must think they’ve disabled the wards on the edges of the boundary but the wolves did that themselves when they found out the mages were coming. Louis’ pack has opened the door and put down the welcome mat. It’s up to the mages whether that mat becomes stained in blood.

1. What is your favorite fic that you have written and why? 

I have several fics that I’m really proud of. My absolute favorites are the ones that give me a feeling of warmth and hope when I write them. We’ll RIse Up gave me that feeling so strongly.

2. What are your favorite tropes to read/write? 

Oh gosh, there are too many! I especially love to read all the tropes where they’re forced together by circumstance and then fall in love before it’s all over: Fake dating, arranged marriage, stranded in a snowstorm, etc  I don’t really have a favorite to write though. I just enjoy writing whatever inspires me most at the moment.

3. What are you most excited for about your fright fest fic? 

I recently got into watching Lucifer and so I was very excited when I saw a Louis-as-Lucifer au on the prompt page. I just can’t wait to share Loucifer with everyone. 

4. Can you give any spoilers about your fright fest fic?  

Only that people aren't always who we believe they are.👀

5. What song, if any, best fits your fright fest fic? Feel free to explain this as much or as little as you like. 

I listened to Lost by Dermot Kennedy on repeat as I wrote this fic. It’s a song about the people you surround yourself with when you don’t know where you stand or when things seem shaky and how those people hold you up. Hopefully the reason that song resonated with me for the fic will be evident while reading it!

6. What got you into writing fics? 

I have always liked writing, but it didn’t occur to me to do it for fun until I discovered fanfic back in my Buffy the Vampire Slayer fandom days. I loved the stories that other people posted and wanted to add more to the world. The same went for finding 1D fic. There were so many amazing ones already that inspired me to write my own.

7. What is your writing process like?

Lol. Started writing, had a breakdown, bon appetit. 

Seriously, it’s all over the place. Sometimes I’ll make an outline and sometimes I’ll just dive right in. The thing that I need the most is music that speaks to me to drive the emotions and move me to write.
