I'm so glad to see mr. lincoln and miss gurira back together, pouring every bit of their souls into their acting. god their chemistry is unbelievably good...I had long forgotten what that looked like in a live action romantic pairing, as the romance in st seldom works well on any level. I'm so pleased to learn that they are also involved as executive producers & writers. it SHOWS. so does that budget, damn.

Putting this under a read-more because I don't actually like the Hannibal/Will ship.

I actually really don't like aspects of the show, and I really hate the pairing when it's canonical (almost everything I've ever bookmarked is an AU).

I generally avoid it wherever possible, but sometimes the tags are just too good and so I give the fic a try - and I'll generally like it because of the author, and will pretend that the couple is someone else.

It's not my dynamics at all, anon, I'm sorry. I've never been that interested in writing pure cannibalistic sociopaths who brainwash their victims and abuse them until they get encephalitis, and while there's lots of ways to write Hannibal so that it's not like that, I just don't also feel very drawn to Mads Mikkelsen either (I'm sorry everyone gomen I'm super sorry sdlkfjdas), which pretty much puts the whole pairing in the 'no thank you' basket.

It's funny because I liked the original stories by Thomas Harris, and I really like Hugh Dancy as well as Gillian Anderson. But I spent most of my time actually finding Hannibal/Will squicky, and while it's not as bad as it used to be, I don't go out of my way to read anything to do with them.

But sometimes the tags are just too appealing, lol, and I feel like the story won't feel like it's set in the canonical universe which helps!

💛 What are their favorite activites to do together?

so cassidy and reid used to be together a few years back in their maxtac days! it was not the healthiest relationship of all time but they had their moments, and most of their favorite activities together revolved around just hanging out together in the same space without worrying about work for a bit. watching movies together, both reading a book and occasionally ranting about something that was happening in the chapter, going on a trip to the grocery store and running some other errands, stuff like that :^)

🤎 How do they comfort each other?

cassidy always wanted to comfort reid through physical touch, despite it hurting himself because of his fucked up nervous system. he knew that holding reid helped calm him down instantly and wanted to be there for him, but reid simply never let cassidy that close :( he didn't want to show weakness, even in the comfort of their own home, which often resulted into reid pushing cassidy away and attempting to work through something all by himself which he really wasn't that good at

reid wasn't great at comforting cassidy, mainly because he always got uncomfortable whenever people seemed upset. the best he could do was sit with cassidy and try to get him to talk about it, talk him through what was upsetting him and try to rationalize it, to ground cassidy and leave him less in his own head about it. and it helped to a degree; just in general having reid close already helped a lot but cassidy was too scared to ask for that, and he could've really used the comfort of a hug or a kiss but he knew reid wouldn't give him that so he never asked for that either :(

🍬 Who is their biggest supporter (friend, family, etc)?

this one is fun because literally nobody supported their relationship LMAO obviously their families were out of the picture with cassidy's family being dead since he was 8 and reid having cut ties with his own family after he left home, but also neither of them really had any friends (reid has some maxtac colleagues he hung out with from time to time, and cassidy was simply not liked on the workfloor on account of him being too soft for the special ops force). their colleagues mostly just didn't care about their relationship but whenever they were faced with it would mostly just roll their eyes at it and move on with their day

🥡 What does a relaxing night in look like for them?

very similar to their favorite activities answer i think!! reid often got home late from work after already having visited a bar or two and would either go back to work instantly or just go to bed, but on rare occasions he would join cassidy on the couch and they'd watch a tv show together (not even a good one but something they could complain about together) :^) usually on their own side of the couch though. but sometimes if it was cold in the apartment reid would curl up against cassidy instead and also eventually fall asleep there, and cassidy would carry him to bed and then fall asleep with his arm wrapped around reid instead of at the own side of his bed. those really were his favorite kind of nights
