okay give me a dot point to recover

POPPY. BECKY. CINDA. i have so many questions. did poppy/becky willingly give up her previous identity, eg cause she wanted to run away? or did cinda and kreps blackmail her somehow? what is cinda holding over her to make her stick around? did cinda do all of that for the purpose of making a podcast, was there other motive? is that other assistant someone that cinda’s conned or kidnapped?

thankfully this episode actually answered a lot of questions so i don’t have too many more than before

seems like we can remove the rose cooper/charles’ father plot from our main plot. i hope for charles’ sake that his father was not nearly as bad as he believed him to be. we can also remove the painting plot.

now we’re left with some old questions, still: who did lucy see in the walls? was it howard’s lowkey-new-bf (sneezing guy), and if so, is he just another one of many pawns in cinda’s game? did cinda canning orchestrate all this, including bunny’s murder, or was it someone else? who did mabel see running out of her apartment

who told our podcasters to get out of the building… was it kreps, looking to gain their trust for the future? was it poppy, desperately trying to warn them of what cinda was doing? was it detective williams, just as they originally suspected? it had to be someone who knew what was about to happen, or who knew the cops were on their way to mabel’s appt.

my guesses in summary: poppy was the one who warned them that night, poppy doesn’t want people to know she’s alive (or cinda has some serious blackmail on her??), howard’s lowkey-new-bf is a suspect, and maybe that bird really does know who did it!

Theory: for some reason "Poppy"/Becky ran away - maybe escaping from a bad family or relationship? Cinda found out while she was investigating for the podcast, and promised not to sell her out, even giving her a new job and a new life in the city... and then proceeded to hold it over her head forever

thinking about poppy/becky’s names and their meaning cause maybe it’s accidental but. it makes sense really.

poppy’s full name is poppy white, which links her to white poppies. the white poppy is rarer than red ones, and symbolises peace and pacifism. by talking to mabel, she may be seeking to end all the problems and destruction that cinda has caused.

then there’s her old (real? i guess?) name, becky butler. becky is most likely short for rebecca, a name meaning "to tie or bind". right now, her character and her past identity is tying the two seasons together, possibly tying the murders together, tying the podcasts together. butler, of course, is an occupation and kinda describes what she is to cinda. though it seems like she’s not exactly willingly working for cinda…
