The skirt of this ensemble, made of Russian green velvet and cloth, is lined with silk of the same tint; the lining skirt is edged with a large velvet flounce, higher behind; the very fitted cloth tunic is framed by velvet bands held at the lower corners by rhinestone ornaments.

The fitted plastron, executed in velvet, closes on the side on the shoulder and under the left arm; it is gathered slightly at the waist; the back is also lined with velvet. The very short bolero decorated in the same way as the skirt, closes in front by crossing under a rhinestone jewel. (See the sketch representing the dress seen from the back.) The high draped belt is made of a biased piece of velvet 25 centimeters wide and supported by stays; it is closed in front under a knot held by a large rhinestone buckle.

The sleeves, slightly flared at the lower edge, open on silk broths, green-Russian finished with velvet cuffs; the lower edge of the cutout sleeves is trimmed with a strip of velvet; two similar bands encircle the arm, halfway up.

The large hat, in dark draped velvet, is decorated with ostrich feathers of a lighter shade, held in place by a rhinestone buckle. The underside of the pass is garnished behind with a large tuft of Parma violets

WIP: Rebel

One:

 It was partially my fault. Both the Facility and I had underestimated the target because of his age and current state of drunkenness. I had only come wearing light armour which barely protected my vital organs.     The bijou residence smelt of beer, sweat and the sour stench of vomit. The sparse furniture made it easier to move around for the fight.     I could hear the muted dripping of blood from my wound and the loud heaving breaths of my tired opponent. 

Two: (the girl is crazy...she is gone...she has descended into madness)

   “Something’s wrong.” She warbled out.    “Elucidate.”    “Something’s wrong,” her hands went to her head, “Something’s wrong. Something’s wrong.” She kept repeating the phrase again and again in a hurried tone. Her hands pulled and tugged at her hair violently ripping out strands from her head. Her black hair tie fell at my feet and her hair stood out tangled in knots. Her mouth spewed the two words over and over again until they slurred together and made no sense in my mind. Jun-15's episode had started to get to me. I didn't know her and here she was falling apart in front of me. I started to panic. 

Three: (this one is just pure angst)

I knew it was wrong, even though I could barely remember the colour of my own eyes. The grey seemed out of place, foreign and absolutely disgusting. I remembered the odd itch that had started at the back of my eye after the operation. This eye wasn’t mine and neither was my body and mind. It all belonged to the Facility. This broken piece of machinery was their creation.

Four:

“I suppose you are correct.” Her onyx eyes were locked on me not even a single thought given to my words. I felt a rage build up in my chest. Clearly whatever I had just said went over her head. She did not care. The rage coiled and tightened.    I didn’t want to be angry. I didn’t want to be frustrated or confused. I looked at Verity. A thought screamed in my head and I couldn’t stop it.     It was all Verity’s fault.

Five: (her crush is giving her the silent treatment)

Dec let me stay but she wouldn’t spare a glance at me. She wouldn’t speak a word to me. She would ignore me when I spoke. She kept a distance and wouldn’t dare to be close enough to even feel my presence. I didn’t like it.     Correction, I hated it.      Loathed it.     Despised it.     

Six:

“What did you do?” He accused. I could see his throat straining from the shout. The fire in my chest burned brighter. I watched his lips move, forming the same words again.  “Nothing, I did nothing.” I kept my voice low, this time I couldn’t hear myself. “Why are you here then?” He yelled again for my sake. I did not know how to answer that question, I shrugged feeling an ache spread from my shoulder. A certain memory came up. “You left me behind.”

Seven:

   “Why are you covered in blood?” I tried to answer her but my throat felt sore, it stung even trying to get one out. I tried for a word and it came out as a broken croak. I swallowed harshly, letting my head fall. I didn’t want to look back to see Dec’s expression. I could feel everybody’s on me, scanning the drying blood and the itchy dust. The line started marching ahead, I followed them feeling the routine sink into me but there were abnormalities. The blood on me which I didn’t get to wash off. The lack of guards. The tension in the air.

Backstory

The Durands were an ancient pureblood family from France that, held a significant impact among their peers. Begirded by myth, the Durands were said to possess the ability to understand and speak to dragons while said creatures would roam and guard their lands and fort.

Violette grew up in a rather loving and protected environment, away from the fort, in a smaller Chateau near it. Her father, the rightful heir to their myth-enshrouded estate, had rather left it in the hands of his brother, desiring a more conventional life for himself and his family. Although grown up away from the myths and legends, Violette was taught her family's lore and trained in all necessities before attending the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic where she would hone in on her natural affinity for alchemy/spagyric. She’d spend her summers bouncing back and forth between England and France.

In Violette's third year at Beauxbatons, her grandfather on her mother's side died under mysterious circumstances that have not been clarified to this day. Thereupon her parents decided to relocate to England to be closer to her now widowed grandmother, entailing a change of school for her and her sister.

When Violette went to Paris during their last summer holidays to prepare for her upcoming apprenticeship, she came to know that the Flamels claimed not to have any relatives named Julian. A little hurt about her unexpected finding, she questioned him upon returning to Hogwarts, asking him why he had lied. This caused a bigger argument between the two and a period of showing each other the cold shoulder. After a while and after coming to his senses, Julian finally reached out to Violette, inquiring about what she had heard … slowly starting to question his mother's story himself. After their reconciliation and their trust in each other growing, the two became close friends.

Le stand des Vœux envolés était placé au fond du village de Noël, entre celui du vin chaud et celui des bouillotes faites en chaussettes orphelines recyclées. Giselle ne l'avait encore jamais vu. Elle visitait ce marché chaque année sur la petite place de Houxville. Des odeurs de pain d'épices et de clous de girofle enveloppaient les chalets fumants. Au sol, le tapis rouge était encore imprégné de neige fondue.

— Bonjour ! Dit le vendeur des Vœux envolés en voyant la vieille dame approcher. — Cette pièce est magnifique, répondit Giselle. Elle pointa du doigt une jolie maison en bois tout ornée de gravures. — C'est un calendrier de l'avent. Il est spécial et entièrement conçu de mes mains ! Il vous fera retourner en enfance ! — Je ne vois aucune case à ouvrir ? Remarqua l'intéressée. — Elles sont invisibles pour le moment, précisa le vendeur. Elles apparaîtront une à une, un jour après l'autre. Son mécanisme est réglé comme une horloge. L'objet énigmatique intrigua Giselle, qui décida de se l'offrir. Elle avait envie de s'amuser un peu. Le 1er décembre à 17 heures, un "clic" retentit sur le petit meuble de salon de Giselle. La première case venait de s'ouvrir comme un tiroir. Giselle jeta un œil à l'intérieur pour découvrir sa surprise. Elle fut d'abord déçue de ne pas trouver une gourmandise à savourer. Elle récupéra une minuscule pièce de métal dorée. Ce n'était ni un bijou ni une broche. Cela ressemblait plutôt à un débris d'objet brisé. Elle le déposa sur une coupelle. Le lendemain, le clic de la seconde case dévoila une nouvelle petite pièce, presque identique à la première. Giselle se rendit au village de Noël pour revoir le vendeur. En arrivant, elle tendit la main pour lui montrer les morceaux. — Je crois qu'il y a un problème, annonça-t-elle. — C'est tout à fait normal ! Rétorqua le vendeur. Vous finirez par comprendre… Un peu de patience ! L'homme lui offrit tout de même quelques chocolats avant de la saluer. Les jours suivants, Giselle continuait de rassembler les pièces du calendrier, qu'elle disposait dans l'ordre sur une coupelle en porcelaine. Le 23e jour, elle découvrit un morceau plus grand que les autres, à la forme arrondie. Elle le déposa à côté des autres. La réponse était là. Toutes les pièces formaient une clé. Giselle les assembla et attendit avec impatience la dernière case. Le lendemain, dès qu'elle entendit le "clic", elle se précipita vers la maison de bois. La case était bien plus grande et ne comportait rien à part une serrure. Giselle tourna la clé à l'intérieur. De l'autre côté, il y a avait une vieille feuille de papier enroulée par un ruban violet. Giselle dut s'asseoir. En déroulant le papier, elle découvrit une lettre écrite il y a plus de 60 ans, par elle-même. La petite fille qu'elle était s'adressait au Père Noël. Les larmes de la vieille dame se mirent à couler sur le papier. " Cher Père Noël, je sais que je ne suis pas toujours la plus sage à la maison mais c'est que je m'ennuie. Peut-être qu'avec une sœur jumelle, ce sera plus facile pour m'amuser. Mais je ne sais pas si les lutins peuvent fabriquer des vraies personnes… Embrasse mon chien Gingembre s'il est avec toi maintenant. Giselle."

Giselle se réveilla le lendemain avec la lettre serrée contre sa poitrine. Elle se leva et passa plusieurs fois devant son sapin sans remarquer celle qui se tenait juste à côté. Sa vue lui faisait défaut sans ses lunettes. Une fois posées sur son nez, elle poussa un grand cri. Son double se tenait devant elle, un grand sourire aux lèvres. — Bonjour Giselle, c'est moi ! La sœur que tu attendais pour t'amuser ! Les deux sœurs passèrent la journée ensemble. Elles s'installèrent devant la cheminée pour se raconter des histoires et des souvenirs d'enfance. Giselle se sentait comblée. La présence de sa jumelle n'était pourtant pas éternelle. Elle disparut au coucher du soleil, après d'émouvants adieux gardés à jamais dans le cœur de la vieille dame.
