Rowing the Rarepair Rowboat: Audrey Rose x Uma (Descendants)

Gentle waves lap at Audrey's legs on the shore. They're getting dangerously close to her dress; her gran would kill her if it got ruined. She tucks her knees up a little closer, and for some reason, she cries harder. Burying her face in her hands, she tries to push away the intruding thoughts, but they only grow louder, shrouding her in cold loneliness.

Nothing she does will ever be enough. She can't make Ben love her. She can't prove to her gran that she'll make a good queen because clearly, no one else thinks it's true! And after everything she's done to make herself perfect for them all.

She dyed her hair. She changed almost her whole less -- from pretty dresses of the most divine materials from her kingdom to cold leather that makes her feel constantly constricted. She tried to be less mean, then more mean, and softer and then not too soft. But it's not enough. She will never be able to compete with her.

Another cold wave laps at her leg, soaking her to her knees. Her skin prickles as it shies away again, leaving her with the feeling of being dragged with it. She moves her hands from her eyes -- she scrabbles to get away from the water, but the teal tentacle stays wrapped around her ankle.

There's only one thing for it: she screams. She tries to pry off the creature to no avail. Her whole body stills as the tide goes out and more tentacles emerge onto the shore. Her throat tightens around her voice as though also at the mercy of one of the limbs.

Finally, a head appears. Some of Audrey's fear ebbs away at the sight of the familiar face, but caution remains as Uma shakes her hair out of her face.

"Let go of me," Audrey demands, internally cursing the quiver in her own voice. Her grand and her mother would never allow themselves to present so weak and vulnerable.

Uma's lips curl into a wicked, open-mouthed smile. "Oh, what do we have here? A damsel in distress?"

"I am not a damsel," Audrey seethes, her built-up anger from the most recent events spilling out like nasty sewage. "And the only thing distressing me right now is you, and your... slimy suckers!"

"Well, that's not very nice," Uma says, pouting with false offence. Even so, she rolls her eyes and loosens her hold on Audrey's ankle, bringing her tentacle back to her side. "I only came out to see what all the wailing was about."

Audrey glares at her, tucking her legs up under the safety of her dress. Her hands smooth over the pale pink leather for a small comfort. She should probably be running back to the castle right now. Only, what then? No one would care. She could run in crying and screaming about Uma's return, and some attempt on her life, and still everyone would probably turn away from her.

She stays planted in the sand, hoping that Uma might simply leave her to wallow in her own misery. She watches her pull herself up onto a nearby rock jutting out of the water.

The last time Audrey saw her was Cotillion, so it's a little strange to see her in... well, her natural habitat, she supposes. The clamshells she wears over her chest are a similar shade to the dress she had on back then. Her seashell necklace still hangs from around her neck, only it's not glowing now.

"So, what happened?" Uma leans back on her hands and tilts her chin to look down at her with that same wicked smirk of a smile. "Mommy won't let you go to the ball? Prince Charming turn out to not be so Charming?"

She was about to hit back with some snarky reply, but upon hearing prince, her mind goes straight to Ben. Her eyes well up with furious tears once again.

"I hate them," she bites out. "Stupid Princes. And the Kings, too -- hell, all of them! They're all the same! And I have no idea how to be one of them, even though I've been royalty my entire life. So why does she get to just slide in so perfectly and claim my place when she knows nothing about any of it?!"

She wipes at her eyes roughly with the heel of her hand as the injustice of it overwhelms her all over again.

"Sorry, you lost me a bit there." Uma's brow furrows. "So... some other princess... took something from you?"

"She took everything from me," Audrey corrects. "My boyfriend. The crown that was meant to be mine. My grandmother's respect for me. I was supposed to be Queen of Auradon, and Ben was meant to be my husband, not hers! Mal doesn't deserve any of this! She doesn't even have to try, and people just fall head over heels for her! But I have been trying so hard my entire life and, somehow... I just keep getting it wrong!"

There's a groan from the rock and she looks at Uma.

"I am so sick of that girl getting her way every single time," Uma says darkly. "She takes and she takes, and there are no consequences. She just gets to... get away with ruining everyone else's lives, especially the ones that no one else seems to care about. Like us."

Audrey's heart stings but she can't deny it. Nobody cares about her. Maybe her gran does, somewhere deep down, and perhaps her parents, but it certainly doesn't feel like it most of the time. Chad just loves the attention. Ben... never really did. That much is obvious; he wouldn't have been so quick to dump her and forget she ever existed if any of his feelings were real.

Hurt and bitter, she watches Uma with growing curiosity. "You tried to get back at her... Mal, I mean. Last year, at Cotillion."

Uma shrugs and looks away, expression souring. "It was an idea. Didn't think it through too well, apparently. It's on me for not remembering that the "power of true love" always saves the day. Hooray."

The sarcasm drips from her voice like thick honey.

"Still," she continues, inspecting one of the suckers on a tentacle, picking off a stuck seashell, "the outcome has been worth it. Mostly. Exploring Auradon's oceans has been a lot of fun."

"But don't you still want revenge?" Audrey prompts. "Don't you think about what could've happened if you had defeated her on the ship? You could've been Queen."

Rolling her eyes, Uma says, "I never wanted to be Queen. I never wanted Ben, either. All I wanted was to be able to free everyone else on the Isle. It's all I've ever wanted."

Audrey continues to stare at her, thinking. "What if I could help you?"

Uma's eyes swivel around to meet hers sharply. "What?"

"Yeah. We could work together. I could get the crown and -- and I could get the wand, which I could then give to you! And you can free the whole Isle and do whatever you want to do."

Uma's smile is doubtful. "That's risky, Princess. Blindly trusting a sea witch. Making a deal with a sea witch. Don't they teach you history in that fancy school of yours?"

"You'll get what you want," Audrey insists. "Will you help me?"

So basically everyone agrees that Quinn is obsessed with status. Whether that's because of her upbringing or a combo of things, doesn't really matter because the fact of the matter is she desperately wants to be on top. Both in high school and as we see later in college and life too, at least until the writers changed their minds. She dates quarterbacks and even bigger than the trauma of an unwanted pregnancy is what it does to her reputation. She seeks prom queen to get that validation from her peers that yes, she's on top, she's the best. In reality we can recognize Quinn just wants love - well, Quinn needs love. But she wants status because she thinks that's what helps her achieve it and general happiness.

That's what most agree on. Quinn gets a lot of shit for it in fact and criticisms of her as person often say all this makes her vapid and such. But here's the thing, they're very similar with Finn in this way. See, Finn cares so, SO much about what people think. Maybe the way I put it before wasn't quite right because he doesn't care about status as much, at least not as consciously as Quinn does. But the girls do tend to be more self-aware than the guys. Regardless, Finn is as obsessed with how people perceive him as Quinn is. It takes a good chunk of season 1 for him to finally fully commit to Glee because he caves under peer pressure that says it's lame. Even though he "makes a stance" in the Pilot, it comes back time and again to how embarrassed Finn is. And a lot of that has to do with how his teammates use homophobic language to degrade him for being in Glee Club. Given that Finn isn't gay and that kind of bullying should hold no weight, it's entirely him giving into toxic masculinity and being terrified of getting anything less than the straight white guy treatment he's used to.

It's the same reason he also has to learn the lesson of choosing protecting Kurt over his own image twice. Wow he sure has to learn a lot of things twice huh. He'd rather stand by and do nothing about intense bullying than be associated with the bullied, for fear he'll be at the receiving end. And it's not like that fear isn't valid but he's also in a place of privilege where he could have done something but chose to protect his own image. Even when the rest of the Glee jocks were ready to throw hands. And putting the homophobia stuff aside for a second, we also see how intensely jealous he gets of guys who threaten to outperform him. Sam when he becomes QB, Blaine when he joins the New Directions. Finn is so incredibly insecure about his own sense of self that anyone threatening that gets the aggressive treatment. You could also argue the same about Jesse coming in and sweeping Rachel off her feet. Finn had just told her he doesn't want to date her but he's suddenly interested again because he wants Rachel's attention back.

Just as Quinn looks for external validation every chance she gets and builds her whole high school life, misguidedly, around getting that within the traditional social hierarchy, Finn does the same. He builds his identity first around being QB and then around being the Glee Club leader. We see him crumble when confronted with the reality of his own loserdom in season 3. He misses out on a football scholarship and he has no future in the arts, all the while his girlfriend is on track to become the star she is. That's what's been behind the season 1 and 2 decisions, too, that he's terrified of having that mirror held up and realizing that he is a loser. But even being a loser is something he himself comes up with because he puts so much of his self-worth into being a popular jock (and a lead vocalist to an extent) and not really looking into things that wouldn’t make him that popular but would be fulfilling. Like teaching.

He and Quinn, had they stayed together, would have been the definition of peaking in high school. Finn especially because he just has it so good that he refuses to think about a life outside high school, and when his greatest strengths within that life are threatened he panics. Basically, Finn believes all he has is his high school image and puts all his self-worth into this fragile concept, and thus goes to great lengths to protect it. I mean, how can people say only Quinn was image-obsessed when they have a shared plot about trying to stay popular? When he gets such an ego boost post-Sue Sylvester Shuffle that he's even willing to go back to the ex who lied about having his baby. It feeds his ego and image though, so, must be true love. Finn might not have consciously realized a lot of this and he might not have cared as much about prom court, for example. But I believe that's because he failed to see the intricacies of the high school status quo as much as Quinn did. Otherwise, they're very similar in this way.

I feel like this got rambly but I'll most likely return to this topic (and feel free to ask for clarification or elaboration). And I haven't even touched on how, as a result of trying so hard for this top dog image, both Finn and Quinn are crushed under high expectations they brought on themselves. Isn't high school fun?

Do you have any hcs on married faberry?

They live in New York, obviously. Quinn gets overwhelmed with the city sometimes, though, so no matter their schedules they always make sure to spend at least 1 week per year away. Not in Lima though, because they both kind of hate it there, and I imagine Hiram and LeRoy moved elsewhere when they retired. They like camping, but with Rachel it’s closer to what normal people would consider glamping.

They have two cats named Melchior and Moritz, after the Spring Awakening characters, since in this AU that was Rachel’s first Broadway show, and it was after her opening night that Quinn asked her out.

Kids are always going to be kind of a tricky topic for them, because of the Beth and the Shelby of it all, and they end up fostering. Quinn, in particular, loves giving kids who can’t be with their parents for whatever reason a home - it’s a full circle moment for her in the same way that Rachel being Kurt and Blaine’s surrogate was for her.

Their date night is whatever day of the week Rachel’s current show is dark. After they start fostering, date night is every other week and the other dark days are family nights - board games, movies etc.

i think i've mentioned my headcanons here & there but never made one specific post to put them together, so i'll do that now :) more under the cut, ahaha.

i think we can already tell from canon - from how when vanessa & nate are getting together in s1 she takes him out or suggests taking him out (i don't remember which?) to a lesbian punk concert & then to a mexican food place right after. the vibe i got was that despite not being a lesbian, vanessa's always been very involved in local wlw events because of ruby, and would probably be totally on top of like. queer film festivals and whatnot, because ruby would've taken her there always.

they canonically lived together for a bit. i kind of imagine their dynamic to be similar to serena & eric, but maybe with a little more space, as vanessa strikes me as someone who would want to be independent and not have her big sister in the picture all the time. the abrams parents are canonically stated to have very idealised & firm expectations of vanessa (and probably of ruby too) as we can see during s1 when v & nate are comparing their overbearing parents (imagine being able to compare your parental pressure to that placed on nate by the archibalds, the abrams were definitely making vanessa feel the weight of their expectations & she likely couldn't have spoken to someone like dan about it, because the humphrey-abrams family dynamics are such that he's likely very close to her parents, just how dan can't complain about rufus to vanessa because the rufus v sees and the rufus dan sees are two different rufuses. rufii? lol sorry).

we also see during s3 & that whole nonsense with vanessa wanting that speech so bad to impress gabriella and her whole "i wish the humphreys were MY parents i wish they were PROUD of me!" as well as. the fact that vanessa even went to college? was because nate dragged her off to the sats, just so that she would have the choice if it came down to that. nate wasn't ever like "you gotta go to college", he was like "if you one day decide that you DO wanna go, you should have the ability to decide that for yourself & be in a position to make that decision" which i really like.

anyway, all that is just to say that the abrams parents seem very overbearing, and im sure ruby felt the weight of those expectations as well. which is why i think of v & ruby to have a dynamic closer to serena & eric's, a sort of "you are the only other person who knows what it's like to have our biological parents be this unreliable and intense so i will be there for you and you will be there for me and we will mutually support each other."

i think ruby would be the sort of person to ensure that whoever she's dating is good to her sister, or else she drops them, and i see ruby and whoever is her gf at the time (or hell, girlfriends plural,she could be polyam) being very cognisant of including vanessa in stuff. like. if they go for dinner out they bring back a dessert for her, the 2 of them ask her questions about what's up with her and how she's doing, stuff like that. id imagine ruby's gfs to be a lot like serena was to jenny in early s1, very big sisterly because 'my romantic partner's little sister is my little sister now.'

i also think vanessa is bisexual (if i remember right, @vanderwoodlings once said "vanessa is the closest thing to a canon bisexual that we got" and... they're right. canon vanlivia kiss and all those yearning glances at serena in s1/s2 and at olivia in s3.... anyway) - and i think unlike ruby, who always knew she was lesbian, it takes vanessa a while to truly acknowledge and accept her sexuality. the fact that she has ruby, though, and the fact that ruby has taken her along for so many lgbtq+ events, would mean that vanessa knows that she has that support net, and that would make navigating her sexuality easier. not necessarily easy, but easier. i wrote a fic about this... well, kind of about this, but it's directly connected & uses this headcanon. here it is, if you want to read it.

oh, bonus headcanon. im sure that at some point, ruby's lesbian band makes one of those hour-long documentary/behind the scene videos. who better to direct it, shoot it, and put it together, than aspiring filmmaker vanessa abrams?? This may sound like a weird question, but can you see Finn hitting Rachel? Like he did almost knock a paralyzed Quinn from her wheelchair and never apologized.

Truthfully I don't think Finn would like actually raise a hand to Rachel in that way. Like I said before, I think he'd throw or kick something in a fit of rage and Rachel would get caught in the crossfire

And then he would deflect like he always does and say he didn't hit her, it was just the (keys, phone, book, stool, chair, whatever)

Along the lines of "I didn't call you a slur I was talking to the blanket" "I didn't out you that guy's ad is outing you"

And he would be instantly apologetic and say he wouldn't do it again. And then two weeks later...

Hey! How are you? I was just wondering if you could write a forwood au drabble where they’re both married and have twins just like in the books. (With some stelena bamon endgames but I don’t wanna be too demanding)

I am so much better after having received this request. You are truly after my heart, this is the au that I LIVE for. So, I only did the drabble, no moodboard but if you DO want a moodboard for this au, feel free to just ask and I will be more than happy to make one because, again, this au is EVERYTHING to me. And now, for some domestic Forwood with some mentions of Stelena and Bamon:

“Are you absolutely sure you want to do this?” Tyler asks sceptically. He sets the plate down on the table and then rests his hands on the back of the chair in front of him. “Don’t you think it’ll be… weird?”

Caroline breathes out a laugh, saying, “No,” then stops, whips around, and stares at him with wide-eyed alarm and a plate still in her hand. “Why? Do you think it’ll be weird? Oh god, it’s weird, isn’t it? This is insane! What was I thinking?”

Like a switch flipped, she dove right into the deepest end of the pool and sunk right to the bottom. Tyler’s gotten used to it over the years, but truth be told, he hasn’t quite adjusted to just how heightened she’s been since having the twins. 

“No, Care, that’s not what I said,” Tyler quickly soothes, moving over to stand in front of her. He reaches out and gently strokes her forearms. “You’re not insane. I was just thinking about you. You know, what with everything that’s gone down with Stefan and… with Damon. Are you going to be okay in a room with both of them?”

She looks him dead in the eyes like a startled little chipmunk for a good second or two. Then, with a sigh, she deflates like someone’s popped open the little seal on the back of her neck and let out all of the air that was filling her to bursting point. 

To his surprise, she flings her arms around his neck and hugs him tightly. The forks in her hand jab a little uncomfortably into his right shoulderblade but he chooses to ignore it for the moment. He instead chuckles lightly into her hair as she takes a deep breath into his shoulder. 

“Hey, you okay?” he asks softly, stroking a hand up and down her back. He wonders if he should go and get the twins for her to focus her attention on; it calms her emotions right down to have them in her sights and be looking after them. 

“I just…” She pulls back to look at him with startlingly crystal-clear eyes, full of clarity and sincerity as she holds him at arms-length and smiles at him like he’s the only other person in the world. “God. I just love you so much. You know that, don’t you?” 

“Yeah, of course I do,” Tyler says with a twinge in his chest. He knows it, and he hears it often enough that it shouldn’t still make him feel like the romantic interest in a cheesy teen movie, but here he is anyway. “And I love you, Care.” 

Her smile stretches until her eyes crinkle like a joyful kitten, then she continues, “And I love that you care so much about me, and how I feel, if I’m okay. I really do. I promise you that I am going to be okay tonight. It’s all in the past now, and we are moving forward with our new life. We have the twins, we have our home. We have each other, and I could not be happier about that.” 

Tyler’s cheeks positively ache from trying to bite back the full extent of his smile. “Yeah?” 

“Yes, you dummy! This is everything I’ve always wanted.” She rolls her eyes. “I know it may have seemed like I wasn’t really one for the domestic, settling down… white picket fence life when we were at school, but… deep down, I wanted it. I hoped that I could have it, that I could actually do it and be good at it. Being a mother and… a partner.” 

There’s some emphasis on the last word, Tyler notices. He’s not stupid. But he’ll let her continue to think he is for another hour or so, just until they have the appropriate audience and dessert is about to be served with a particular piece of silver included. 

“You are amazing,” Tyler tells her fiercely, sliding his hands up the side of her neck. She leans into his touch, her bottom lip pushing out a little. “And, I totally believe you when you say that you’re all good about this dinner party idea. But be totally honest with me: how do you actually feel it?”

“Oh, I’m a nervous wreck,” Caroline says without missing a beat, confirming what he’s been observing for the last twenty-four hours. “Mainly just because I’m worried about a fight breaking out between either Stefan and Damon or you and them, but also because both Elena an Bonnie have confided some news in me that they’re planning on sharing tonight with each other and I’m not totally sure how they’re both going to react.”

Eyebrows raised, Tyler takes a step back, going back to setting the table as he prompts her with a simple, “Oh? Why? What’s their news?” 

She groans loudly, head thrown back, hands out at her sides. “Okay, so, technically I’m not supposed to say anything because I promised both of them that I wouldn’t, but you don’t count. I know for a fact that Elena tells Stefan everything, and the same for Bonnie with Damon, which, frankly, I think is even more insane than this dinner party because I wouldn’t trust him to keep a surprise party a secret, never mind anything of any importance.

“But anyway. Get this, would you believe, Elena and Stefan eloped.” 

Tyler’s eyebrows are practically off his forehead. “Wait, seriously? Wow.”

“I know! I mean, they’re married now! Which is totally crazy, right?” 

Biting hard on his cheek to keep a straight face, he nods with furrowed brows, and swallows hard before speaking. “Yeah, no, it’s crazy.”

He catches Caroline side-eyeing him, but he makes sure to give nothing away as he adjusts the last plate and she sets out the last of the cutlery. 

“And Bonnie’s news?” he asks, steering her back on track. 

It’s successful, too. Her eyes immediately widen and she’s talking a mile a minute, saying, “Oh god, that’s even crazier. I don’t think it’s even fully sunk in for me yet, I mean, I just can’t even picture it – I don’t want to, either, to be frank. Right, yeah. So… Bonnie’s pregnant.”

Tyler whistles through his teeth. “What? And it’s–”

“Definitely Damon’s, she says,” Caroline confirms, nodding.

“I can see why you’re nervous,” he says faintly, to her passionate agreement. 

He’s still processing that piece of information when the baby monitor crackles – not that they really need it when they both have hearing better than anything that requires a battery. 

Caroline’s head perks up like a dog’s ears. “Oh, is it five already? I need to feed them again.” She rubs her temples. “Do you think it’s worrying that Brianna is drinking more than Lucas is? Maybe it’s me. Maybe my milk is making him sick or something, do you think that’s possible?” 

“I think that they’re both perfectly fine,” Tyler says calmly, “but if you’re really worried, we can check in with the midwife again with any questions. I’m sure it’s just because Cas was a bit later than Bri. There’s always the formula stuff, see if it makes a difference for him.”

“True. I might try it,” she muses, biting her lip. 

There’s another groggy cry from upstairs. Seeing Caroline’s obvious need for a minute to go over her thoughts, he kisses her cheek and says, “I’ll get them.”

“Thank you, you’re the best, I love you!” she calls after him. 

“I know!”

Do you see brittana having kids?

Honestly, yeah maybe. It's not a definitely sort of thing but a possibility for sure. I don't agree with people who exclusively see them as the fun drunk aunts to other ND couples' kids.

Were they a couple where that was a possibility, I think an accidental pregnancy might happen haha. But not in the "oh shit" Quinn kind of way, they wouldn't plan on it but be happy nonetheless. But since an unplanned pregnancy isn't an issue for them it would have to have more thought put into it. And I don't see them getting to that point in their twenties where they're both busy and travel a lot. There's a popular headcanon where people insert Naya's pregnancy during the filming of I Lived into the Glee timeline, meaning they'd have a kid at 25-26. I'm not ruling that out but it's not like Naya was visibly pregnant with Josey so it remains a headcanon. And I see Brittany carrying, for some reason? At least the first time around. But Brittana might just be the couple who have the one kid and a shit ton of cats and call it a day.

So yeah I see them having kids. I think they'd reach that point in their lives. I know canon Brittany is hard to see as a mom but if we're considering a more grounded reality she'd be a really cool mom who's also overprotective about certain things. And Santana about the rest of Things. They'd both love the kid so, SO much and Maribel and Whitney co-grandmothering would be hilarious.

Basically I don't see why not and I think people who sort of "dismiss" them as fun aunts do them a disservice. That said, I'm also 50-50 on it. They could live a full life without kids as well, it just depends how their late 20s/30s go. And because it's not as easy for them there's that extra step of commitment involved.

Just curious if you had to choose between Faberry or Pezberry? (I remembered u saying that u started to ship pezberry more so I was wondering if that was still the case)

It’s always going to be Faberry for me. I don’t know if I ever said that Pezberry had overtaken them, but I do remember saying that they’d gotten close, and they have. I think I’m safe in saying I find them more fun than Faberry a lot of the time, where Faberry are more angsty just because of the nature of Quinn’s character versus Santana’s. And, ultimately, while fun is a must, it’s always going to be the deeper stuff that truly bonds me with a ship, and Faberry have that in spades.

Just curious, what are your thoughts on Nelly Yuki? I felt rlly bad for her tbh. She was just living her life and having a sweet bf then Blair tried to sabotage her life all to get an extra minion. Ik she isn’t perfect but Blair’s treatment of her was disgusting. (I love Blair but she has her flaws)

I actually genuinely liked Nelly as a character and as a concept - she had the same drive of 'wanting to fit in' that Jenny had, but her character arc was so different, and I feel like there was so much scope for her as a character - which early GG fandom has actually capitalised on! at one point, I loved reading Dan/Nelly fic - there was one in particular that I really liked, but the author's taken it down, so I can't rec it :(

I really liked that Nelly got to go to Yale and become successful after leaving the negative environment that was Constance + the mean girl gang. I'm always furious about Blair literally taking the batteries out of her calculator pre-SATs, it's one of the most deplorable Blair moments imo.

As I see it, Nelly was more successful than Blair. What did p6 Blair do? Have Waldorf Inc handed over to her because her mom was running it, do a terrible job at running it, and somehow only making a profit by coming up with a line that's themed on... wait for it... uniforms! which are, by definition, standardized clothing that schools assign kids. she didn't invent anything!! i don't think she actually accomplished anything for herself! (and tbh it's pretty sad, i DID want blair to break out of that world and that mindset, but. gg writers, y'know.)

Nelly on the other hand - got to go to Yale, reinvented herself, realised she was actually a girlboss, became a reputed well-known journalist. nobody handed that stuff to her on a platter - she did it herself! P6 is a shitty season, but Nelly in that season being successful was one of the only things I actually liked.

I'm also really glad that she was the first of the original GG cast to make an appearance on the reboot (if i remember right) - I haven't watched the episode she's in and all that, but I remember @blairwaldcrf giffed that moment for me, because they're a sweetheart: check it out!

Random cherry on the top is that the actor who plays her, Yin Chang, is literally SUCH a cool person. I remember reading about "Heart of Dinner," an initiative she took along w/ her partner during the pandemic to feed NY's elderly Chinese community, and like. my heart, man. It just made me feel so warm inside, knowing that the actor who played her is doing such good stuff and making such a solid impact in the world. Which doesn't answer your question directly, but like. stuff like that usually makes me more invested in the character played by the actor too.
