I’m Making A Book!!!
Well, I promised an announcement, and I delivered. I’m putting together a little something for my class, and I’ve decided that I want to put it out on the market. So say hello to 🔥THE BOOK OF HABORYM!🔥
Once upon a time, a human photographer met the original pyromaniac, and thus began a love that, as of today, is thirty-two years running! This black-and-white photo album will lead you through 1997 and 1998, perhaps the two most important years of Haborym and Lettis’s life together. On top of everything else, they became newlyweds, went to Burning Man, and had their first child! What a ride, huh?
Tumblr media
The sixteen-page first edition should hit the digital shelves around late December, and will be exclusively available for purchase on my very own website! Exact pricing and release dates will be determined within the next month and a half, so keep your eyes peeled for updates! Not to mention, there's already a second edition brewing, and sales of the first edition will go directly into making the second. How cool is that, huh?
This book is the most important project of 2023, and I can't wait for it to be finished so I can share it with the world. Like I said, you can all be sure to expect updates on Haborym and Lettis -- maybe colored illustrations? Maybe concept art? 👀

Oh boy our first dive into the demons of Wild Arms, starting with Gagison, like Blue Book, a prologue dungeon enemy for both Wild Arms 1 and 2.
GAGISON An extremely obscure demon of supposedly Hebrew lore associated with plague, although I can find no corroborating source on that. It is included in The Book of Abramelin under a list of names of spirits capable of being summoned, but as best as I could see with no additional details for Gagison in particular. Shin Megami Tensei also features Gagyson[sic] so somehow the name seems to be better circulated among weird occult fanboys of 90s Japan than in modern English circles.
FLEURETY sourced from The Grand Grimoire (aka Le Dragon Rouge: "The Red Dragon") where it is supposedly mentioned as one of 6 lesser demons along side NEBIROS who we'll get to in a bit... There's not really any meaningful details about Fleurety from what I can tell, but somehow it seems to be consistently associated with ice powers when it appears in videogames? Not sure if that's a weird coincidence or what. It's also the name of an avant-garde metal band.
UKOBACH sourced from the Dictionnaire infernal, he's depicted carrying a pan full of hot coals. Supposedly a patron of fireworks and fried food. He's another mainstay of SMT, and as you could guess, associated with fire elemental in game terms. Funny enough it shares a model with...
HABORYM, another demon associate with fire, in this case cited in the Ars Goetia as one of the 72 demons of solomon. But in Wild Arms 1 he's just a recolor of....
AMON, a demon included in the ranks of both the Dictionnaire Infernal and the Pseudomonarchia daemonum. In the former he's depicted with a serpentine tail, doglike chest and legs, and giant owl head. I don't know wtf is up with AMON GAMECH in WA3 but it's clearly just a recolor of the AMON from the same game. I cannot make heads or tails of what the addition of "Gamech" is supposed to mean. (it appears to be the name of a street in Cazavet, France?)
STOLAS is a one off monster in WA2 cleverly sharing a model with AMON. STOLAS is actually the basis of the WA2 model, with AMON as the recolor as both are classically depicted as owls. STOLAS is a demon from the Ars Goetia associated with astronomy and depicted as an owl with long legs and a crown upon his head.
NEBIROS is another pull from the Pseudomonarchia Daemonum, and one with a wide array of alternate names/titles and spellings one of which is supposedly Cerberus, just straight up taken from Greek superficially in reference to his three heads. For this reason I included the WA2 monster, KERBEROS, which is itself a recolor of...
BALAM, an interesting twisted thing in and of itself. It first appeared in WA1 as "SHAZAM" a confusingly arbitrary substitution on the localization team's behalf. In WA2 he's properly labeled as BALAM and shares a model with KERBEROS as they both have 3 heads. In Alter Code F he actually isn't called SHAZAM but this time is called BALAAM. He appears again in WA5 with the same model as F but the name back to BALAM.

New Chapter--"Within the Circles"
Well, after a whole lot of drama and writing, chapter 2 of "Within the Circles" my Halloween summoning fic, is finally up! (Tho chapter count will be 5 plus an epilogue, rather than the planned 2. Whoops.)
Aziraphale is gone--taken by the summoners--and Crowley searches in desperation for any sign or clue of his whereabouts. Meanwhile, Aziraphale witnesses first-hand the horrors of a summoning, as his captors slowly realize they have caught no ordinary demon.
Read more on AO3!
Note: this fic is Whump and rather "Dead Dove Do Not Eat" so take a look at the tags before proceeding. Ending will be about as happy as you can get, given what will be going on...
First scene of the new chapter below:
--
Crowley’s entire world shrank to the bowtie cradled in his hands.
Everything else faded away. The street, the waking city. He knelt on the step, trembling, staring at the last sign of his angel. Mind blank, lost in darkness.
His fault.
Everything that had happened. His fault.
Everything that came next. His fault.
He could have told Aziraphale.
They could have shielded themselves together. Or Aziraphale could have set up his own defenses here. Or they could have tried to get far enough away. Or…or…or…
But now Aziraphale was gone.
They had him, they were hurting him. Trying to control him.
And it was all his fault.
Crowley had one job. Only job he’d ever cared about. Only thing he’d ever been good at. Keep Aziraphale safe.
But he’d fucked that up, same as he’d fucked up everything else in his life.
What would they do to him first?
The last time Crowley had been summoned, the humans had had a book. A grimoire. All the demons in Hell, allegedly, their true names, their weaknesses.
He’d heard of such things, of course. No demon would admit to having been summoned, ensnared, captured by mere humans, but rumors circulated nonetheless. Did you hear? Paimon’s true name is in the grimoires. Did someone sell him out, or did he betray himself to the humans? Did you hear about the fires in Paris? Haborym was there, but no one ordered it. Was he…harnessed?
In the dark cell of some fourteenth-century castle, humans had demanded Crowley reveal his true name, told him it would be less painful for him if he simply surrendered control. He’d refused to say a word, and they’d driven a silver spike through his hand, carved with holy symbols that burned away parts of his demonic essence. His palm had carried the scar for a century; his soul would carry one for eternity.
He pressed his left thumb to the center of his right palm, rubbing it across the bowtie. Feeling the centuries-old ache, deeper than muscles and nerves. It still hurt, sometimes, when he was tired, when his energy reserves ran low. It probably would forever.
They would do the same to Aziraphale.
The thought dropped across his mind like an ice bath, snapping him out of his reverie.
While he sat here, sulking and blaming himself, those—those humans were doing things to his angel.
No. The sooner Crowley found him, the sooner he could put a stop to this.
There would be time for guilt later, when Aziraphale was safe. First, he had work to do.
Wrapping the bowtie around his palm, keeping it close, he staggered to his feet and headed into the shop.
Updates to this fic requested by @flameraven and plenty of people in the comments!

The test prints are IN and they look fantastic! I just need to start fine-tuning the layout and illustrations, and then I’ll be sending the final products to print!
I don’t have a concrete release date yet, but I can say it should be in 2024. I also have another new project I may or may not be posting about soon…we’ll see how things go! 👀

Well, guys, Book of Haborym is getting pushed back. Again. Why?
Turns out my ankle is actually BROKEN. In two separate places. And it WILL require surgery to repair and there’s a pretty reasonable chance that I wont be able to go back to in-person school this semester.
God, I am so fucking pissed that I could break my other leg. I wasn’t even really able to do much of what I wanted creatively this past month, because I was stuck remaking my entire senior capstone on account of it (reasonably) not meeting the professors’ standards. Which I ALSO wanted to put together and sell along with the book. But did the universe care? Nah. Time to smash your stupid ankle in two different places and render you practically-immobile for at least six to eight weeks.
Anyway posting’s prolly gonna be scarce until I inevitably flip over MOTU. Book will likely come out very behind schedule. There might be a post or two about my Capstone so I can get in the habit of wanting to be around it. And most importantly — here’s my dog checking on my ankle. She’s a very good nurse.
