despite my very busy schedule, in honor of season 3 coming soon (which looks great so far, may i add besides the fact that its a two parter?? whats up with that), i have been rewatching seasons 1 & 2 while studying 🤍🤍🤍

that being said, i’m still kinda ??? on why they made simon and daphne’s first born a boy instead of having it be amelia?

it would’ve made sense if they were to remain on the show’s storyline more prominently (they might’ve shown simon struggling with a child, not to mention a SON, because of his own experience with this dad) but we all know that’s very unlikely at this point unless they recast (i hope they do, i miss phoebe already)

i’m just hoping they maintain baby edmund’s name for kate and anthony’s first born 🥹 i’m only now coming to terms with how, despite the way i enjoyed show!kathony because simone and jonathan are just that amazing and gorgeous, it was sort of a let down as someone who’s favorite bridgerton couple are those two

nonetheless, very excited to be active on here again!!!!

I'm glad to hear that! Full disclosure I've been having some weirdly-belated second doubts about my writing this weekend so this actually came at a good time. I think my intent with Selina veers a little too much towards the serious side for HR, and since I've started reading other authors in the past year, I've been able to find that happy middle ground between the sheer frivolity of Bridgerton and like *serious* historical fiction with other HR authors. But at any rate, she's been an interesting character to write and I really really want to finish her story.

7. What are your plans for -David Basset-?

Alrighty so my plans for Lord Clyvedon basically involve more conversations with Selina because everything that needs to be said between them hasn't been said so far, and then the beginnings of his political career possibly. I also kind of want him to have this "wow Selina's really come into her own" moment which will come later down the line.

So here’s my take on the whole Sharma’s coming/ arriving from India situation(not that anyone cares). This whole thing has been bothering me and I’m trying to figure it out in a way where they don’t ruin S2 for me completely. Plus, I’d love to discuss this with someone.

I have really low hopes after how they did Anthony, and Violet by extension, dirty. I understand and can accept, to an extent, Bridgeton being set in a colorblind Alternative Universe but clearly that wasn’t exactly what S1 was completely going for either.

I think India will be treated as post-colonialism/post-independence country like America. Which yes erasing the British Raj as it was and painting it over with pretty colors is problematic but I can see this being the only way they could address the India situation without being all “love cures and/or solves colonialism/racism”. So now it’ll be a class issue, amongst not being meek and genteel like, that will make Kate unsuitable in the eyes of the ton. American heiresses/heroines coming to England for marriage prospects in HR novels is a common reoccurrence and often times they were outspoken and hellions along with being of a different class and new money which made them less suitable as prospective brides 90% of the time. I see this already with Kates whole “manners genteel” speech and the horse race which looks like their first meeting.

Anthony says in S1 to to Sienna in one scene that not every woman can be a lady. Being of a different class will probably set up a comparison between Sienna and Kate where it wasn’t class that made Santhony an ill-fated couple. Will also probably set up Sophie’s story up well in S3. Book Anthony didn’t care explicitly but Show!Anthony seems to care much more about class and social statuses.

All this is still bad. It’s all still shitty. I dunno. None of this was really necessary. Screwing with what is honestly the strongest book of the series, is dumb. As a 2nd gen South Indian I was so happy seeing a dark skinned women of South Indian descent in lead and second-lead roles in a big production, especially in an adaptation of TVWLM, one of my favorite books since freakin High School. God know what’s gonna happen. Hopefully it won’t be bad, as bad as we are expecting.

Covids got me all loopy on medication and if this all sounds like bs . . . Ya know why. This isn’t meant to be offensive but anyone finds it so, sorry.

Here’s to March 25th not being a shit show. 🥂

I really can't get over that Nicola was the first person cast in Bridgerton. I find it to be very telling. And Claudia being the second cast is telling as well.

It might be a romance, but female friendship- female relationships are the foundation of this show. From the very beginning.
