"Praise the ACTUAL best heavy tank of WWII. Think about it. It's fucking gigantic, so you can see it from two miles away as it trundles towards your exact position. No matter what you shoot at it, it keeps coming. It's slow as shit, so as to give you time to tremble in fear as the realization starts to set in that nothing will stop it. Shell craters, concrete barriers, Czech hedgehogs; it doesn't give a shit. It's coming for you. Slow but sure. Like the horror stories your father used to tell you about the Tank during the Great War. All you can do is sit there and watch, shortly before it lights your entire trench on fire. Nice Panzer IV you've got there. Go ahead. Shoot me. Find out what happens when a sub-3 inch shell hits six inches of frontal armor. Oh, a bunker? Real creative. Be a real shame if I pushed this funny little button that shoots literal hellfire from my tank. Trenches? My tank is longer than a fucking bus. You didn't think we hadn't learnt anything since the last war, did you? To cap it all off, the Crocodile had a perfect 100% success rate in every single operation it took part in. Making the Crocodile out to be some unstoppable Fury Tiger-esque uberpanzer isn't cope: it's historically accurate."

Sherman IIs of 'C' Squadron, 9th Queen's Royal Lancers, 2nd Armoured Brigade, 1st Armoured Division, Eighth Army, during the Second Battle of El Alamein, November 5th, 1942.
The Sherman II was the designation for the M4A1 Medium Tank in British service. The tank was supplied to the UK via the lend-lease program by the United States, and the Second Battle of El Alamein was the first the Sherman ever saw combat in World War II. It would not be the last, as the M4 "Sherman" Medium Tank would see combat throughout the rest of the war with a multitude of upgrades, and see action in every theater of war, from the jungles of Pacific islands, to the bitter cold of Eastern Europe.

I hope y’all know that I’m constantly confused. Confused all the time. I don’t know what’s happening right now. I don’t know what happened last year. I don’t know what’s happening in the news… But I do know what happened during 1914 through 1918. And I know that no one wanted to mess with the Swiss. And omg TANKS!

what’s your favorite tank? from a purely aesthetic perspective
Well, I'm not just going to answer Leo 2 again, cause that would be kinda cheap (even tho it's true, God I wanna fuck that tank).
So, instead, I'll go through a list of my esthetically favorite tanks throughout their history, as well as a 1 sentence description of why.
1917 - Renault FT-17 - it's an awesome light tank, as well as the first iteration of the modern form of the tank.
Tumblr media
1942 - PzKpfw. V - a bit of a shameful favorite, but it just looks cool as hell.
Tumblr media
1943 - M18 GMC - it's just a badass tank destroyer, what do I even say? There's a 1/36 scale model of it on my shelf.
Tumblr media
1953 - M41 Walker-Bulldog - it just looks badass. I have a 1/36 scale model of it sitting on my shelf right now.
Tumblr media
1980 - M1 Abrams - I mean, c'mon. I'm an American. What am I gonna pick other than the Abrams? It's the American cousin of the Leopard II, My Beloved.
Tumblr media
So, I hope this was satisfactory? If not, I don't know, kick a Russian sympathizer or something.

I love how most of the Valentine Tank's service in WWII consists of the British changing something they didn't like about it and the Soviets just going 'no whyyy did you change that we loved that part about it'
