Something about the fact that these shots are all grouped together, one after another, visually giving them equal weight just gets me. The narrative knows what's going to happen between JGY and Huaisang at this point, knows how it's going to treat JGY at the end of everything. And it still takes time to show Meng Yao instinctively and immediately going in front of Huaisang and Huaisang instinctively and immediately hiding behind him. It takes the time--literally, showed it in the background and focused on it with the same general amount of time as the other shots--to show that this act of protection and trust are just as real and true as Jiang Cheng defending his sister, as Wen Qing defending her younger brother.

Like, I dunno! There are other Nie juniors there! They have swords and shit! Huaisang could have gone and hid behind the wall, but he hid behind Meng Yao! And Meng Yao could have moved back with Huaisang, but he steps directly in front of him!

There's a lot CQL did to JGY's character and narrative that I don't like and that flatten or just straight up erase his full complexity. But I really appreciate the lengths that it went to in Episode 4 to explicitly tell us that he does not hesitate to protect Huaisang, even though at this point he does not have a sword and definitely does not have anywhere near the same cultivation power (if any) as any of the rest of the people in the room.

Right now, after being publicly humiliated, unarmed and definitely outclassed, he is brave. Along with the rest of the characters, he's allowed to be uncomplicatedly young and loyal and just as innocent as any of the other students there.

i sense how on the contrary, when moon is in Zeph’s local group the members will all go ‘omg youre actually letting us do this’ or be surprised of her leniency with almost anything(or if she gets upset she wont be yelling her ass off and will try to remain calm), because of how Zeph would usually be so strict with em and they didnt expect better

see- first you gotta understand that the chancla doesn't really Hurt the iterators. while they definitely can feel through their puppets, those things are made to be sturdy (throw a normal or singularity bomb into Pebs' chamber,he's fine, i know he just doesn't have health but worldbuilding is worldbuilding so i guess a fully functional iterator is fine with blackhole into the head). it maybe stings for a sec but it's not worse than gettin pinched (also where did you get that she yells at em, she's only exclaimed so far i think. if you check how she handled Innocence, that's how she generally goes about it- no yellin for the sake of puttin 'em in place, she's just venting out her frustrations into the air)

the Point of the chancla is to get the target's unwavering attention so she can talk some sense into them WITHOUT using the senior privilege which is far more invading since it cuts straight through their systems and forces the juniors to stop everything to pay attention. these things are giant supercomputers! they are going to have a different perspective on what counts as "too much"/"too bad" than us humans! it isn't used to limit what they are doing unless the thing they are gon do is explicitly threatening to their safety, the limiting is what the Senior Privilege does!

in that lil comic with Pebs, Suns, Nish, Inn and her, she doesn't actually even hit Nish in the last panel, the chancla is only supposed to suddenly appear from behind next to his face n he gets startled + drama queen points. i've admitted in the tags of it that i gave up on the last page so i don't blame anyone for not gettin that since i haven't put enough effort into communicating it

with what she's doin back in her own group, she Needs to be this strict if she wants her plan of keeping everyone reliably long-term safe to work

Half-formed headcanon that the previous Archdruid Halsin replaced was the one that advised his village's council and elders when he was an elfling. Maybe he was even from a similar branch of the High Forest originally, so he made the trek to visit their specific areas when his grove was situated closer.

He would make time when he wasn't busy to speak to the village children and learn their names and show them little tricks and give blessings and share stories and lessons with them. He became much like another adult in the community - a teacher and a guiding hand, but special because he only came around once in a while. It became pretty routine of them all (Halsin included) to anticipate his visits even though they weren't incredibly frequent. There would be excited little whispers on the breeze and giggles in the rustling bushes when he was expected, his telltale shadow stretching on the forest floor, the lot of them hiding underfoot and impatiently waiting for business to be finished so he would come out to play with them.

His visits became farther and fewer in between as Halsin got older due to needing to focus on things elsewhere, until he was eventually unable to come anymore, and was replaced by another druid in his stead.

Halsin years later reflecting back on him and thinking to seek the druid out again to be trained under his guidance after Halsin reaches his maturation epiphany, since he had nothing left keeping him in High Forest. Solely because he remembers looking up at that man and thinking: "I want to be like him when I grow up". So why not give it an attempt? And - on a wing and a prayer - with only a vague idea of where he might still be situated, he packs up and pursues.

What a way to wake up from a nap! You could literally never bother me if it’s a question about my oc’s. I love sharing and talking about them so much, you have no idea. Still, the names are a subject I’ve been avoiding. Not because I don’t want to share them, but because of the amount I have to preface before I do.

I’m starting with this one right out of the gate: My dangan oc’s are just dr versions of my my little pony ocs I’ve had since I was probably 11 or 12. And because of that, they have the my little pony names.

Now, my little fangan universe has nothing to do with my little pony (other than the bit of knowledge above) so I was wondering if I should change their names. I even went to my instagram followers with this debacle, and we decided it’d be fun if they just kept the names and I created an in-universe explanation for why their names are weird.

So I’ve decided that the killing game participants couldn’t remember their names from the moment they’ve woken up from their fainting spells. They’ve been given “replacement names” in the form of weird non-names written on those sort of name plates you make in class so the teacher knows your name on the first day of school. They also find their new names weird, they know that they’re not the usual names people have. But they just have to roll with it, and that’s how they’re referred to for the rest of the story.

Now, I’ve still been hesitant to share the names because there’s still a few in there that I’m considering changing. Despite already coming to terms with the fact that they’re gonna have weird names, there are still a few that were clearly thought up by a 6th grader, so they might be getting changed. But since you asked so nicely, I’ll share them anyways. And pronouns too!

So if any of the names have an asterisk (*) next to them, it’s because the name is only something I’ve been calling that character in my head and it’s subject to change.
