I was curious - who are your top ten favourite characters through all of the Star Trek series and why? I really enjoy your art, great job! It's always exciting when your stuff comes up on the dash because it's just *that good* and another thrilling installment!

First of all, thanks a lot !! It always makes me super happy when I hear people are excited about my art :D

And uh.. Oh that’s a tough one. I could easily tell you my fave character for each show, but an overall top 10? Let me think…

1 - Doctor McCoy and Spock

Theses two have been my fave TOS characters since I first watched the show back in 2015. And TOS may not be my favorite Trek anymore, but it will always have this special place in my heart ‘cause I’ve been obsessing over it for so much longer than the other shows (I started watching them back in like September 2020). So yeah Bones and Spock come first. And they’re both number 1 bc I was never able to choose between them and I probably never will

2 - Doctor Bashir 

Hhhh Julian I love him I was part of the Elite Intellectuals who liked him even in the first DS9 season when he was annoying (maybe because him making the worst first impression on his future friends is something I find extremely relatable ? hum). I love his evolution too even if I’m not a fan of the Augment thing. He’s also very cute and hot I want to peg him

3 - Kira Nerys

Kira is hand down the best female character in all of star trek. Episodes focused on her were always interesting, and idk I’ve always loved characters that are very religious (without being zealots) ? Idk why, I’m a strong atheist so it’s super unrelatable to me but it makes me more interested and invested in them for some reason. Anyway she is also super pretty and hot and I love her smile and her voice and I’d let her step on me any day

4 - Tuvok

He’s just really cool and I love Vulcans. And also I think his actor is the only one beside Nimoy (and maybe the second actress who played Saavik) to really perfectly grasp how to play a Vulcan, and that makes him really compelling

5 - Will Riker

I really love this jazz himbo and I absolutely don’t know why ! By all accounts he shouldn’t be my favorite TNG character but for some reason he is

6 - Data

Ahh what could be said about everyone’s favourite android that hasn’t been said. He makes me very emotional for some reason, sometimes he’s so adorable I want to cry and every time something bad happened to him i’m just :’’’(

7 - Shran

This guy probably appear in like 6 episodes total (and I’ve only seen 3 of them so far) but he just carries Enterprise so much. He just makes the show 10 times better every time he walks on screen.he’s also played by Jeffrey Combs which gives him a bonus

8 - Q

Also a guys who steals the show every time he shows up. Less than shran tho but just because TNG is really much more solid than Ent. He’s just so damn fun

9 - Dukat

Ohh boy this is gonna piss off some people. But listen this guy is by far the best Trek villain. He’s ridiculously charismatic and makes every scene he’s in super entertaining no matter how wonky the writting is. It’s hilarious watching him getting in the most ridiculous situations but he can still be threatening when needed. He’s definitely an interesting character, he’s a gigantic asshole but as a character I just can’t hate him. Also, as many of you are aware, i’m a lizardfucker... so there’s that

10 - Worf

That’s it that’s just worf what else is there to say. I love this dude i’m so happy he got to be on both TNG and DS9

alrighty season 3 ep 2 thoughts. this post got ridiculously long so the rest is under a read more:

- literally i love every single time we see akito sleeping in this long and empty room. there’s something very encompassing about how empty it is + how the angle emphasizes it, especially when we can clearly see she’s sharing her bed 

- shigure and tohru’s moments alone are always soo so sweet. their relationship so far is very much one where there’s a lot of affection between them (which ofc makes one of their biggest scenes together during the final act feel especially hurtful even though it’s a side of shigure we’re well aware of by that point -- it’s just something that tohru up until that point hadn’t witnessed, much less been directly confronted with. but i’m getting ahead of myself lmfao moving on)

- actually related to the above love tohru asking “wouldn’t i just be interrogating him?” and “the things kureno told me make me feel like i’m looking into a deep, dark well” just ahh i do love this background progression of shigure and tohru’s relationship and how it reaches a head when they have their talk about kyo later. 

- this is perhaps unintentional but: having this shot of machi noticing yuki + clearly having some new feelings about him overlaid with/directly followed by momiji and tohru, where we still know momiji has an unrequited crush on her. yes it makes me laugh a little but it’s also fitting because at this moment in time yuki does not have a crush on machi in return + sees her only as a friend.

- it’s been mentioned but it bears repeating. why are they not progressing momiji’s height whatsoever lmaooo. funny because yuki and kyo have had gradual changes but they’re really just trying to make this growth spurt reveal super jarring huh. also holy shit he looks TINY next to haru in this shot. next

- the one kid in class asking hana to fuck the priyuki girls up but she’s like “actually i really don’t care” LMAO........ love her

- ugh i really love this moment with yuki.......... i think it’s been a while since we’ve seen the general student population (not just the prince yuki girls) still treat him in a revering way, now also in part because he’s the student council president but definitely still because of his reputation as the prince. this was something that was so deeply ostracizing to him early on in the series, and does still remind him of his loneliness -- but that loneliness isn’t crippling to him anymore, because now he does have friends who like him and who he can have fun with. 

i’m going to write a bigger post on this later probably because this is a really important progression point in how yuki understands himself to exist in his school’s ecosystem + how his self-esteem is still developing.

- additionally i just want to say that this scene isn’t yuki suddenly falling for machi, or really something to be read as mutually romantic between them -- machi i think absolutely has a crush on him at this point (because he is. the only person who is actually nice to her and considers her existence aside from kakeru but moving on) but yuki’s perception of her at this moment is heavily tied to how he thinks of himself as a friend + whether he’s a worthy enough person to befriend. the fact that machi shatters those doubts for him in such an overt way is important.

- anyways machi is rly cute here i loooove that she’s comfortable being more expressive around him even though it’s mostly out of embarrassment LMAO...... she’s learning how to display her feelings and trusts him with that..... cute.

- also of note yuki putting his hand on the top of her head which is like... he’s trying to convey that he feels they have (or are starting to have) a trusting friendship with each other but it’s like. a bit too much for machi to handle omfg. honestly this goes in hand with way back when ayame patted yuki’s head in praise which was clearly something yuki didn’t receive much of as a kid, and i’m assuming machi also rarely if ever received that same sort of praise. what i’m saying is they’re both trying lmaoo

- also as usual shimazaki’s deliveries are spot on yuki is soooo fucking cute in this scene. “what? seriously? they’re even worse than the ones i made” he’s so casual and funny with her it’s so good

- okay the timeskip to sunset makes me laugh it makes it seem like tohru and kyo have just been waiting in that room alone for hourssss

- ugh how sexy would it have been if the brief flashback to kureno + the music overlay had been cut out here. like tohru seeing the birds and then turning to ask kyo what he would think if someone’s curse had been broken would have gotten the message across just as well + i think would have been more emotionally impactful.

- tohru’s expression here though is so good just. ugh. will say this point in hers and kyo’s relationship is just so tasty because he really is her most trusted confidant but she’s also so aware of anything that could be construed as him rejecting her or pushing her away, which now that she’s getting especially wrapped up in the family’s secrets...... it’s a thin line she’s walking w wanting to protect him but not wanting to push him away bc he’s resigned to what will happen

- this visual is so weeeeeird aoghjksd the screen being framed by her bangs. what. why

- hmmmm in general idk if the flower scene hit very well. it felt kind of awkward? kyo and tohru both seemed really stiff which is weird because literally just a minute ago they were animated pretty well tbh

- this post is already so long and i only JUST started the akigure part of the ep....... i’m so sorry

- machi and kyo both handing off white flowers to yuki and tohru respectively and then we’re hit with shigure giving akito a red flower instead. obviously because akito is symbolized by red camellias + to refer back to her memory of shigure giving one to her, but also just basic color symbolism -- white being more indicative of purity and new beginnings, red being something both passionate, evocative, dangerous.

- oh we’re back to the kids. it is not in fact akigure time yet. 

- i loooove this tohru outfit so much she’s so cute in it. also ig it bears mentioning because i didn’t say anything about it last time, but the reboot hinting more directly to the audience that something bad happened to rin, rather than just her disappearing entirely, is def more overt than in the manga. that short scene of ren intercepting rin in the last ep was chronological yes, but in the manga we don’t see that happen until after we know that akito’s been keeping her in the cat’s room. so just by tohru mentioning that she hasn’t seen or heard from rin in a while, we’re clued in that something bad to her must have happened because of ren. which i don’t think is a bad decision honestly -- since ren is set up as the antagonist for this season, it might make viewers assume that ren did something bad to her, only for it to be revealed that it was akito and that akito is still becoming more and more unhinged. but that also ren is unhinged. disasters.

- “i’m sorry, i’m afraid i do have parents” this rly is just the mid-20s mood isn’t it

- mitsuru fucking hissing at shigure i cannot

- nakamura’s acting during this phone scene is so goooood oh my god. the LOATHING. honestly this alone just makes me crazy abt the insanity that is akito + kureno + shigure like jesus christ. 

- kureno’s pitiful little “nii-san” after shigure obliterates his entire life. there we go

- honestly it’s funny how shigure’s expression looks when akito yells at him for sleeping with ren because for a moment it looks like he has NO idea what she’s talking about but then. nope. he fucked her mom.

- do like the little detail of akito pointing as she tells shigure to get out, but when he leaves he just turns in the opposite direction. like truly he has never followed orders to the t once in his life.

- this shot of ren is so fucking absurd oh my god. pls get ur male gaze directing out of here.

- “i... thought you forgot” man the way this is delivered feels really striking. i think because akito is never caught off guard in a way that surprises her in such a quiet way, or in a way that leaves her plainly vulnerable. like her vitriol towards him has to do with the fact that she feels he’s abandoning the bond they used to have (and ofc they bond they have through the curse), and that memory of him does act as a linchpin. 

- it’s primo bitchy shigure hours. primo akito meltdown hours.

- this shot is soooo foreboding wow. straight up darkness. tho i kind of wish this shot was used instead for the “i want to crush her to a pulp” line, or at the very least that the shot for that line was just framed differently

- god they’re so fucking awful for each other. purely just a disaster duo. shigure taking control of the conversation + dismissing akito’s meltdown and emotional manipulation leaves akito feeling the only way she can have control over him is through seducing him since no other method works. the convo that has with her accusing him of sleeping with a lot of other women + her not knowing how to handle the fact that he slept with ren, and ofc the convo it has with her misogyny and how she views herself. they have this really vitriolic push and pull for control because akito doesn’t know what to do when she loses any control at all, and shigure’s grasping at what little control he can have considering how their power dynamics work with the bond -- walking away when she’s being manipulative, refusing to coddle her. like shigure’s wish for them to be on an equal playing field without the curse is a pipe dream because their relationship is just so, so damaged as is and is so heavily informed by what has already happened between them. takaya why did you have them end up together for realsies why did you--

- what is with the reboot team making akito break down the walls and doors all the time lmfao. bro the structural damage caused by this little 90lb disaster.

- i think i understand why they took it out (like maybe it would have been too overt with how they’ve set up the audience to expect something bad happened to rin after running into ren) but man they really just didn’t adapt one of the most haunting parts of the series huh. like this shot of rin being trapped inside the cat’s room right beside shigure thinking “i’ll be waiting for you” maaaan man!!

- okay addendum: apparently she is in the room. in hindsight i did notice this but it did not register as a person because i thought it was just a glare on the window 😭

i actually have a whole rhaegar wins au planned out in my head (maybe i’ll write some of it at some point, first i gotta finish the crownless fic follow-up oneshot). but here’s a general run down of how robb x rhaenys might play out in this world.

under the cut since this turned out wayy longer than expected

basic premise: rhaegar kills robert at the trident and wins the war. meanwhile in king’s landing, jaime still kills aerys when his madness gets too much, or when he reveals the caches of wildfire. tywin stays carefully neutral throughout the war. upon returning to the city, rhaegar is crowned king. lyanna still dies in childbirth.

rhaenys and aegon are legitimate. show canon and i do not get along lmao. jon, the semi-acknowledged bastard of the king, is taken to winterfell to be raised because elia is not risking another blackfyre rebellion, and ned wants lyanna’s kid to be raised in her home. rhaegar is just guilt-striken enough over lyanna’s death to allow it. 

jon visits king’s landing on occasion as he gets older. he and rhaegar have a weird relationship (there’s a lot of angst there, a lot of unresolved issues). jon and aegon do get along though, which everyone is secretly relieved about. it takes rhaenys longer to warm up to jon. she remembers the rebellion, she remembers how hurt her mother was when rhaegar dropped everything for lyanna. rhaenys has never quite forgiven rhaegar. eventually, with encouragement from aegon, she strikes up a tentative friendship with jon.

with lyanna, brandon and rickard dead, house stark has suffered enough and rhaegar lets them go without asking them for much more. however, robb is asked (ordered) to visit king’s landing when he gets older. everyone has suddenly realized that house stark is a much bigger power than previously thought, and it’s a good idea for the iron throne to stay on good terms with the future warden of the north.

(by contrast, jon arryn is sent to the wall at the end of the rebellion. he didn’t have the advantage of being related to the new king’s dead lover to save him. the vale is passed down to harry hardying with one of the lords acting as regent. in the stormlands, stannis bends the knee and becomes lord. he marries cersei and it is the single most entertaining marriage in westeros.)

still, despite all the work queen elia and jon connington and the rest of the small council put into repairing relations with the north, they remain very frosty. ned certainly never forgives rhaegar. he’s not about to go to war again, but he’s also never going to step foot in king’s landing again. robb grows up with a distinctly antagonistic view of the iron throne, and the belief that it’s better for the north to keep to itself and stay out of politics of the realm. still, his childhood is more or less the same as it was in canon.

rhaenys is a force to be reckoned with at court. she grew up at her mother’s elbow, learning the nuts and bolts of ruling, how everything happens behind the scenes. oberyn taught her how to fight with a dagger (same as in crownless), as well as a few tricks to suss out people’s secrets. when she visits dorne, she watches doran, compares his style of ruling to her mother’s, to her father’s. if westeros had absolute primogeniture, rhaenys would make a formidable queen. as it is, she is aegon’s number one pick for hand for when he eventually takes the throne, scandal be damned.

her circle of friends is certainly an interesting mix. myrcella baratheon (a bit older and an actual baratheon this time) and margaery tyrell are conventional ladies in waiting, but they’re also both vying for aegon’s hand. meanwhile the sand snakes are the terror of the court and oberyn thinks it’s hilarious. rhaenys thinks tyene should stop pretending to poison mace tyrell. when arianne visits - well, things can get interesting. no one can quite tell if tyrion lannister and princess rhaenys hate each other or not, but their debates are certainly fun to watch. 

(hmm, maybe theon also ends up in king’s landing. robert trusted ned to watch over him in winterfell but rhaegar and ned have a very different relationship. idk where i’m going with this train of thought, but it would certainly add a new dynamic to rhaenys’s little court.)

rhaenys is not betrothed. it’s unusual, and people have started to comment on it. she is one and twenty and the most eligible woman in the land. there’s quite a bit of interest for her hand, but elia has decided that rhaenys will have a say in her marriage, and rhaegar oscillates between not caring much about the matter and toying with the idea of marrying her to aegon, in the old tradition. rhaenys has told him that if he even tries to marry them, she will elope with the first man she can find and wouldn’t that be quite the scandal? so rhaenys remains unmarried.

(the biggest difference in rhaenys here from rhaenys in the crownless fic is that here, rhaenys knows power. not only was she born into power but she has grown into it as well. she will do her duty to her family and the realm, but she will not sacrifice her own happiness unless there is no other choice. as practical as she is, marriage alliances are off the table.)

this is a lot of setup to get to robb and rhaenys making out but bear with me lol.

robb goes to king’s landing shortly after turning eighteen upon request (summons) from the throne, accompanied by catelyn, sansa, and arya. it’s skirting on rude for ned not to come, but rhaegar lets it slide. he’s lyanna’s brother, and there’s a lot that rhaegar feels guilty about concerning lyanna. anyway, it’s robb’s second time in king’s landing, but the first time he’d been fourteen and rhaenys had hardly noticed him. now though, there’s a bit of “oh shit he’s hot now” before robb makes it clear he’s only here out of obligation. then rhaenys decides that there’s no reason for the two of them to interact and that is that.

(or is it, asks the author in a leading tone.)

so really, there’s no reason for robb and rhaenys to speak to each other. rhaenys is busy with a discrepancy in taxes coming from the vale, and robb is busy trying to avoid southroners at all costs. but circumstances bring them together somehow. maybe there’s a conspiracy afoot, and they have to work together to stop it. maybe rhaenys is forced to show robb around the keep. or maybe rhaenys finds the quiet of the godswood peaceful and robb keeps coming across her there.

“this isn’t a real godswood. not without a proper weirwood heart tree, like the ones in the north.” “mayhaps you can show me a proper godswood someday, my lord.”

really, they have nothing in common, there’s nothing they should have to talk about, but rhaenys finds robb’s frank honesty refreshing after all the double talk at court, and robb thinks she’s probably the cleverest woman he knows. somewhere along the line they become each other’s refuge from all the politics and mistrust of king’s landing.

there’s a feast one day, celebrating some important occasion or whatnot. and there’s dancing and mead, and rhaenys can’t remember the last time she had this much fun. she and robb slip away into the gardens to cool off in the night air and well. rhaenys will blame it on a few too many cups of dornish red but robb’s lips fit perfectly against hers and he tastes like cinammon.

robb panics. this is the princess he is kissing, daughter of the king who brought so much pain upon his family. gods this is jon’s sister, and robb’s father always told him to behave honorably towards women and the thoughts he’s having are certainly not honorable. so robb runs.

rhaenys is furious. well, really she’s embarrassed but anger is easier. for the next week or so she is a nightmare to be around. not that she’d admit to anyone that she’s in a bad mood. meanwhile, robb is moping and hiding from everyone and probably spending most of his time sparring.

jon, who isn’t blind and is absolutely done with them, practically forces robb to talk to rhaenys. he doesn’t care what happened, he just wants the two of them to get over themselves and stop being so insufferable. also rhaenys made one of the goldcloaks cry and no one quite knows how that happened.

so they talk. and robb apologizes for kissing her, which rhaenys is quick to tell him is absolutely ridiculous, she’s the one who initiated it and besides, it was just a kiss.

well, that one kiss turns into quite a few more.

there aren’t really words for what they are to each other. if she were anyone else, robb would probably ask for her hand, but she’s the princess of the realm, not some petty lord’s daughter. and rhaenys doesn’t want to think about putting a label on them, because that would mean thinking about how the two of them fit in the future. and since they aren’t betrothed and king’s landing isn’t dorne, no one can know about their…. whatever.

then rhaegar starts bringing up the subject of rhaenys’s betrothal again. aegon isn’t on the table, since he and margaery tyrell are all but promised to each other at last, but perhaps willas tyrell would do, or maybe harry hardyng in the vale. lady paramount is a perfectly acceptable role for the sister to the future king.

(robb isn’t mentioned as an option. he might be of the right status, but relations between ned and rhaegar are still quite frosty, and the realm still doesn’t quite see the north as equal to the southern kingdoms.)

rhaenys knows, intellectually, that she must marry someday. and really, willas tyrell and harry hardyng are just suggestions. she could always look for a second son for a husband, so she could stay in king’s landing. but she doesn’t want to marry a stranger, and she doesn’t want to leave the city, and the only person she can think of is her cousin quentyn, and arianne would kill her if she married quent.

robb learns about the discussions for rhaenys’s hand from rumors floating around the court. and really, he shouldn’t care who rhaenys marries, it’s not like they’re anything more than good friends who kiss sometimes. or at least, that’s what he tries to tell himself.

he’s not very good at convincing himself.

“marry me,” robb blurts out. rhaenys stops dead in her tracks. “what?”

rhaenys says no. winterfell is about as far as it gets from king’s landing, and she does not wish to be sent away to a frozen wasteland where she knows close to nobody. there is so much she can do at court, so much change she could help affect, and she cannot do that in the north.  

she explains this all to robb and he shrugs. “we could stay in the south.”

rhaenys is not often surprised. this makes it twice today that she has been struck speechless.

robb does not like court, as she is quick to remind him.

“no, but i like you.”

they talk late into the night. the sun is starting to peek out behind the treeline when rhaenys says yes.

(the issue was not that she did not wish to marry robb. quite the opposite. but if she is to be a part of the politics of realm, she cannot do so effectively in winterfell all the time. so they talk, and debate, and eventually a plan is drawn up for where they will reside.)

of course, this is all dependent on rhaegar and ned accepting. robb’s time in king’s landing is drawing to a close, and so he returns to winterfell to ask for his father’s permission. rhaenys goes to talk to rhaegar and elia.

rhaegar is surprised, to say the least. elia, who has been quietly watching her daughter’s flirtation-turned-courtship for the past months, is not. in the end, the discussion is rather short. robb stark is heir to one of the great houses, and the iron throne desperately needs better relations with the north. there’s little to oppose.

ned, on the other hand, is more reluctant to bind the starks to the royal family so officially. he loves his nephew dearly, but he cannot forget the circumstances under which jon was born. but robb seems to care for this southron princess, and catelyn is right, they cannot try to stay out of southron politics forever.

robb and rhaenys are married in the godswood at riverrun, halfway between their families’ castles. for the wedding of a royal princess and the heir to the north, it’s a surprisingly lowkey affair. but robb hardly notices much other than rhaenys, resplendent in dornish silks, and rhaenys for once lets herself forget about the politics and the future, and just lets robb lead her around in a sloppy rendition of the bear and the maiden fair.

(robb is not a great dancer, but he is definitely an enthusiastic one. rhaenys thinks it’s charming.)

it isn’t easy all the time. splitting time between winterfell and king’s landing means endless amounts of travelling, and they aren’t always in the same kingdom together. there are fights, and long nights working, and sometimes the politics at court get to be too much for both of them, but for all their differences, robb and rhaenys love each other. and maybe that’s all that’s needed.

god this got long, and this is really only a sketch of what that scenario would look like. maybe i’ll write a proper fic for this universe sometime, we’ll see.

hogwarts!chenle

i’m a nerd for harry potter and so i had to make one lol sorry?? thank ya’ll for reading and i’m sorry if you didn’t want this to turn into a like, love? story au. i just had the perfect idea for chenle. keep out for the other member’s hogwarts au! i might make another one later tonight bc i have little hw and this was fun writing. thank you for reading <3

okay so, chenle is part of a pureblood family

before he went to hogwarts, he already knew a bit about magic and what goes on in hogwarts

chenle already knew he was getting a hogwarts letter and was looking forward into the school year he would get into after he turned 11

chenle, since his birthday is on november, had to wait until the next school year to get his letter on september

so chenle was actually part of jisung’s school year

and obviously, they became bffs

so chenle and jisung met on the first day of school

they were on the train and all and chenle was a little ball of excitement and was making friends left and right

he decided to stay with jisung in the train ride

they talked about what houses they were hoping to get into

chenle was hoping to get into either gryffindor or ravenclaw

his father and mother were part of ravenclaw but his brother got into gryffindor

his family is really well known (perks of being part of a pureblood family) 

and so he had some expectations to live up to

but it’s okay because zhong chenle doesn’t disappoint 

so when they got to hogwarts and chenle was one of the last people being called for the sorting hat

chenle got into...

“ravenclaw!”

yaayyyy,, chenle is happy but he’s sad that he isn’t in the same house as jisung

okay so anyway, chenle is a really good student

he was continuously active throughout his hogwarts years

his best subject was potions and he made a special bond with the potion teachers

chenle was mostly already known by the teachers and whatever expectations they had for him an understatement to what chenle actually is

he always one of the top students 

number one in potions class of course

chenle made friends with older students such as donghyuck, jeno, mark, jungwoo, sicheng

chenle was prefect during his 5th to 7th years of hogwarts

he was known as a nice person and he would constantly offer to tutor and help students in their studies

chenle is like, luna lovegood yea? or is it just me

so chenle at quidditch games

okay so obviously this dude has a ton of spirit

chenle would go all out for quidditch games 

he would cheer and scream and yell

and hlaf of the time, chenle would commentate the quidditch games

chenle would make the game more interesting and no his voice/laugh would not be annoying

chenle, though was not allowed to commentate when it were games against ravenclaw

because he would just comment about how great his team is

sometimes, he would get carried away and yell through the microphone 

like

“hey you idiot that’s the wrong goalpost!”

“that’s a foul! you’re not supposed to hit the bludger you’re not even a freaking beater for god’s sake!”

and yea

on games when it wasn’t against ravenclaw and chenle would be in the stands, chenle would cheer loud for his friends

chenle himself, wasn’t on the team because he was already fairly busy with his school work and prefect duties, but he would play quidditch with the other members during his free time

he would go on a neutral side and not wear the house colors other than his own

but he is always there to support jeno and jisung and mark and donghyuck

he would, of course, praise his team whenever they won against his friends

like “hey jeno, remember when ravenclaw totally DOMINATED hufflepuff??”

“mark, you should’ve known ravenclaw was going to win. you’re head got so big you fell off your broom”

and stuff like that

okay so aside from studies and extracurricular activities, chenle had a somewhat bad rep????

like he and the nct members would constantly get detention

so at the time chenle was a first year, basically every nct member minus taeil (because he graduated) was in hogwarts

right? cause it’s seven years? let’s just pretend that they are

and so can you imagine the chaos all of the would cause?

like holy

so all the teachers were proud of how chenle is such a good student in first year and how he wasn’t such a big trouble maker

but then he befriends donghyuck and jeno and jaemin and renjun

who in turn was friends with mark and lucas, who was friends with jungwoo, who was friends with jaehyun and sicheng and so on

and so all the teachers just had a mini heart attack at how the “troublemakers” of the school added chenle and jisung into their group

so it wasn’t rare that you would see chenle cleaning the trophy room or helping out professor mcgonagall in class

 as the years went by and the older nct members started to graduate, it was eventually just down to jisung and chenle

don’t be fooled by the numbers, because what these two can do is ridiculous

like jisung is a gryffindor and chenle is a ravenclaw

chenle has the best ideas for pranks and jisung is the one who does all the dirty work

their most famous prank is when they bewitched the pieces of armor at school and would randomly jump at people as they passed by 

or they would end up stalking a person or two throughout the day

chenle is just such a good student and he is so well known for being kind and helping and intelligent but also a fun and troublesome student love and appreciate him my boy

OKAY SO ON TO YOU AND CHENLE

so, you had chenle in your advanced potions class in 7th year

i won’t go into details how you met cause that all depends on your house

you walked into potions late first day of class and your friends in the class already decided to partner up with one another and so the only open seat was next to chenle

so you ended up being chenle’s partner for the rest of the year

it wasn’t bad

you heard a lot of great things about chenle

and through out the years, you were always competing against chenle for the top student in potions

it was always chenle though who got the top spot

so although you knew chenle was a good student

a very smart one

you were a bit bitter as to how you always came into second place against him

so when you and chenle started working together, you tended to act a bit cold towards him

and chenle didn’t like that

he liked making friends and he wanted to he friends with you

he always tried to make you laugh by telling you jokes

you just never really budged though

so eventually, chenle asked you about why you weren’t always nice to him

you were packing up your stuff, getting ready to go to lunch, when chenle tapped your shoulder

“hey, y/n?”

“chenle, i’m trying to go to lunch”

you said kinda coldy???

chenle looked a bit frightened and just starts speaking really fast

“ohimsorrytobotherbutijustreallywantedtoknowwhyoudontlikeme?”

you were kind of shocked

“what?”

“oh i said-“

“i know what you said. you think i don’t like you?

chenle looks at you all confused

“well yea? you never seem to have liked me and i just wanted to know what i did wrong. was it something i said? i did? i don’t want you going around hating me”

and you’re like shocked because damn, was i really that mean to chenle?

of course you liked chenle

you liked how he was always so nice to everyone he meets

how he’s one of those people who would smile and greet a hi or wave as he passes to class

you did find his jokes funny but you never laughed at them because your pride got in the way

you found how he was always willing to help first years on their studies 

you also admired how chenle was a fun person to be around

and you were always very impressed by the pranks he and jisung always come up with 

they were very intelligent and tended to cause you to laugh for days

you didn’t hate chenle no and you told this to him

“well, then why have you never been as nice to me as you are with others?”

well it was because you’re always better at potions than me you thought to yourself

chenle laughs “just because of that?”

you didn’t realize you said it out loud and now your cheeks were turning red

“ahh y/n, we missed the opportunity in becoming great friends for years just because you think i’m better at potions than you?”

you nodded, “i mean yea? you’re always so good and i always try so hard to beat you but you’re just so good!”

“y/n, you do know my father is a business man in a potions company right? of course i would be good at potions”

“OKAY WELL NOW THAT’S CHEATING”

chenle laughs

“don’t worry y/n. you’re great at potions, and i’m amazing at potions and we’re partners. we’re bringing everyone in this class down. we’ll be the top students”

he looks at you and you smile at him

“you got chenle”

throughout the year, you started becoming good friends with chenle

you took part in chenle and jisung’s pranks and also helped them come up with good ones

you always had a feeling that you liked chenle

and that maybe that was the reason why you never really was kind to him

one day, in potions, you professor slughorn was teaching about love potions 

he was talking about amortentia, the strongest love potion

you and chenle were fooling around as you were drawing on his notes

professor slughorn asked you to state the facts and the effects of amortentia

you went on about the facts

“the smell of amortentia varies from different people. the smell that amortentia gives off to people would be the smell that one finds appealing”

professor slughorn then asks to share what you smell

“oh, i smell, peppermint and cedar wood and,,, strawberries??”

you froze when you said strawberries

why would you find strawberries appealing if you were allergic to them?

you knew exactly the reason why you smelled strawberries 

and it had to do with the boy sitting next to you

you once acknowledged to chenle that he constantly smelled like strawberry milk because he mentioned that you smelled like coconuts 

and that you didn’t like it because of how you were allergic to strawberries

chenle just laughed at you and said “that sucks, you’re missing out on the best fruit out there”

once professor slughorn started talking again, you continued to write notes while ignoring chenle

you were sure that he knew the reason why you smelled strawberries

it was because you liked him

class went on as you avoided eye contact with chenle and focused on writing notes

when class came to an end, chenle waited for you as you packed

you were the only one left in class and chenle was leaning on the doorway

as you walked past him, he put his arm around your shoulder 

you looked up and say a small grin on his face as he said

“you know, i smelled coconuts from the amortentia potion”

omg please don’t feel bad! we all have our own lives and you definitely don’t owe me anything. i’m the very same way. i actually only use this account when i’m on my desktop so dwai lol. i’m the biggest iwa simp istg. i started this account to simp about him but kuroo is out here stealing all the love/attention 🙃

i promise, you will find someone someday to treat you right. the right person will find you when you need them, but not necessarily right when you want them if that makes sense.  

(2/?) and it's okay! It was painful but the writing was great and it made me emotional :') I also take comfort in the idea that none of the haikyuu!! boys would actually do that. yeah! I don't know much about terushima and astumu but I know that I always see them depicted that way. Oikawa is such a complicated character and it sucks seeing people reduce him to an annoying play boy. They're all hard workers who care about their friends and have admirable goals

atsumu and oikawa radiate the same energy to me. they’re both ridiculously dedicated to volleyball, have fan-girls, and probably couldn’t maintain relationships in HS because of their volleyball dedication. not to mention they’re both a tad immature sometimes and rely on their friends/team-mates to reel them in.  

terushima is literally such a major nerd too like, this mans is in the highest class level. he’s smart and the way he plays volleyball? just a huge goofball. i may be slightly biased though bc i definitely thirst for terushima LMAO. he just matches kuroo’s energy to me and i live for that aesthetic

Honestly I haven't had a bad experience in a relationship (probs because I haven't been in one lol) but I've had bad experiences with guys in general so 🤷 I think mine come from the unhealthy relationships around me and a lot of self doubt/insecurity. We'll get there someday though. I'm glad you enjoy those scenes! I'm a sucker for angst but the gentle and genuine love between Kuroo and (name) is what really gets me :') It's hard to decide which scenes are my favorite tbh.

i am a jaded old lady when it comes to relationships imma be real 🙃 i’m bi and have dated one girl and multiple guys, and i’ve just been disappointed an endless amount of times. i'm more than happy to spend the rest of my life sharing a house with my home-girl and my dogs at this point. 

i’m really sorry to hear that you’re surrounded by unhealthy relationships and that you have insecurities. it’s not easy to overcome, but i know that you’ll be able to overcome anything that you put your mind to.

I'm uwu but poor Bo). The soft and domestic scenes in chapter 5?? my heart ;-; also the "look at that, baby." you're killing me, Skye (are you okay with me using your name?)

(5) Reading about the past and knowing how it ends up when Bo comes back makes me so eager to see how it all gets there. I'm so excited read Chapter 6, esp since it's your favorite!! ahh i read the other anon's take on an atla au and i liked their adaptation, but i had pictured shouto as the avatar instead in my head. like endeavor still is the firelord and i like the idea of him marrying a water tribe princess but consider,,, the previous avatar was nana, from the earth kingdom whose best friend is the air nomad gran torino, and that's how she meets air nomad toshinori who cant actually bend, but has a big heart and takes him under her wing. needless to say, she dies

(didn’t have space to mention it previously) but toshinori is so strong he somehow fools everyone into believing that hes an earthbender. as there’s no avatar to stop him anymore, endeavor is free to do as he wishes. before nana dies (and in the time todomama is pregnant) he’s warned by someone that she’s going to die. so this is kind of perfect for him, he has the opportunity to have the next avatar be his son. so he does the unthinkable and a warning to his kingdom is sent that every pregnant woman that gets into labour when nana dies is to be killed with her child. the fire kingdom keeps a tight register of the children born from then on, shouto is born about two days after that, and it takes about a week for the news to reach the fire kingdom that effectively, nana has died, but no one is sure when, as previously all the kids that were born during that week (but shouto) were killed, enji is sure his child *has* to be the avatar, but as soon as shouto can walk hes taught fire and water bending techniques. enji is still the abusive asshole that hes in canon, and his other children suffer neglect and his wife is abused, but he controls the fire and water kingdom so there isnt really anyone that can do anything to prevent this. after nana dies and enji takes over both kingdoms, the only reason he can’t take over the air nomads and the earth kingdom is toshinori. he somehow has never been able to defeat him (he doesn’t know all might is a non-bender). toshinori inspires people in a way no one has before and has good people that surround him, and can take down good benders any day any time. enji kind of is scared of confronting him himself and loosing. toshinori keeps enji off of the air nomads and earth kingdom. 

meanwhile, as enji’s army fights toshinori and co., shouto has been able to bend water since a young age, but can’t seem to be able to bend any other element. but one day while playing with his siblings he bends his sibling’s fire. todomama sees this and is terrified of what enji will do to shouto now. the training was already too hard for a five year old kid who couldn’t yet bend fire and for so didn’t actually trained with it. she makes him and his siblings to never tell anyone about shouto bending fire, and shouto swear that hes to never use any other kind of bending besides fire.  

 enji is so mad. shouto is almost six and he hasnt shown signs of being able to bend anything but water. he blames todomama for this, saying that he spoils him too much, that if she wasnt so weak and also cared about her family and their kingdom shouto would be able to bend anything by now, and todomama slowly builds up the idea that maybe shouto isnt the avatar, that maybe the avatar was one of the kids he killed. enji can’t tolerate that idea, and when shouto is eight and cant bend anything else.  

he decides that he cant allow anything to get in the way of his world conquer, its already too difficult with toshinori. so he decides that hes attacking the air nomads next, where the next avatar would be born. but he cant attack them with toshinori still defending the air temples. so he makes a temporal alliance with some weird guys who claim to be able to take and give bending powers as they wish. they send their leader to fight toshinori, and meanwhile enji sets to attack the air temples.

izuku is eight years old, and he also can’t bend. hes really good at making plans tho. he has grown with his mum in the air temple all his life with his friends iida and ochako. ochako is really cool beacuse she can make things fly with her bending techniques, and iida prefers using air bending to reduce air resistance and go fast. iida’s dad builds machines while his mother is an air bender, he travels a lot with both their parents while his brother fights in toshinori’s side.his father sells some stuff for the fire nation, because he believes if he doesn’t, then someone else would, and it helps toshinori’s side to know exactly what is attacking them and have better equipment than what they have (much to enji’s annoyance they somehow seem to be always one step ahead) that’s how they know that the air nomads are to be attacked soon, by trading information with some militar that knows his wife is an air nomad but doesn’t know about his children. 

they return to their temple to warn people to flee. but there’s little time, not everyone can scape. present mic, an excellent bender, decides to stay and defend them while some attempt to scape. aizawa meanwhile arranges a plan to save the kids, as they know they are going for them thinking one of them is the avatar. shit goes terribly wrong and only few manage to scape without enji’s army noticing, among them, izuku and friends with aizawa’s help.  

on toshinori’s side of the story, hes battling afo. afo tries to take his bending away, and to his surprise there’s no bending to take away. this to toshinori’s advantage, knowing that hes the one who probably killed nana, he fights with all he can, and even though afo manages to fatally wound him, he defeats afo. (or so he thinks). by the time he knows the air temples have been attacked, is too late. but aizawa finds him and informs him that is quite possible that the next avatar is among  enji is so mad, because he didn’t find the avatar among the kids he took from the air temple, and even though with toshinori weakening hes managed to control part of the earth kingdom, there’s rumors of a kid that seems to be able to bend different elements being thaught by toshinori (being nana’s apprentice) 

everyone believes izuku is the avatar, and hes freaking out bc he knows hes not, but all might tells him that rn he gives people hope, and that has always been the avatar tasks, so for now there’s nothing wrong with pretending. and of course, the only ones that know hes not the actual avatar is todomama and kids. until one day enji is particularly mad and lashes at todomama, that is. he attacks her with fire, and shouto gets in the way to protect her and directs the fire towards enji and himself (getting his scar). enji is now even more furious and lock up todomama for her betrayal to the fire kingdom by hiding the avatar. shouto is mad ofc, and so he decides to never use his fire bending again. enji is so mad, bc now he has an avatar that only bends water. the only reason shouto still trains his bending (starting earth) is bc enji still has power over todomama.

his siblings have already left, save for his older sis. she then receives a letter saying that todomama isnt under enjis control anymore, that shes been banished, along with what seems to be evidence. she then convinces shouto to scape and he does. shenanigans ensue from now on, he joins toshinori’s army and meets izuku “the avatar” while knowing hes not. it might be somehow ridiculous bc even izukus childhood friends like ochako believe him, and shouto never says anything about it. tododeku also ensues and shouto tells izuku the truth and izuku is so embarrassed bc he knew all long (even though izuku tried to impress him with his “bending” several times) but shouto finds it kinda cute. izuku “its your power” helps shouto understand that he needs his fire bending if hes to defeat endeavor, and shouto helps izuku deal with all the guilt he feels for lying to the entire world, assuring him that it was the right thing to do at the time.

i cant’ believe i constructed an atla au from my only previous idea that was “what if shouto is the avatar” when i have homework to deliver like, today.

i like the idea of shouto helping the idea that izuku is the avatar by using his bending to make it seem like it was izuku who did it??? kinda like what conan does for mouri in detective conan, except both parties know whats up lmao. ppl come up with rumours that izuku only bends around shouto bc izuku wants to woo him,,, like, to show off to a love interest. tddk are super embarrassed, but they’ll take what they can get because they’re helpless and can’t think up any other reason.

ahh hi )~: i’m sorry you’re confused, it’s understandable if you recently joined in or don’t get the time jumps cause there are many hidden in the text! here, i’ll try to explain. and this is sort of a giant recap cause….i know a lot of people just started following me and i don’t ? know if they’d be interested in my legacy but here i go~

THIS GETS SO LONG SORRY

so danny and dahlia dated in high school while roma had this suppressed crush on him (bc he was her best friend and also her pal was dating him? and she felt bad)

danny apparently also liked roma, but didn’t wanna ruin their friendship so he thought he’d give dahlia a chance

roma then met atlas, a boy whom she grew to like and went to prom with and had her first real kiss with (danny sort of kissed the area above her lips before and,,,well it didn’t count as lip-to-lip contact so they didn’t count it) (the whole kiss scene was due to staging a fake date for danny to practice and i think you see? maybe?)

danny graduated high school (bc he’s a year older than the girls) and had a mutual agreement with dahlia to break up since they didn’t seem to be going anywhere

danny, at the time, was jealous of atlas

atlas then moved away (he was also a year older) to go to college in a foreign country, effectively ending his relationship with roma due to distance

danny and roma started hanging out again and everything was going pretty good and it seemed like they had a chance to be something other than best friends

but then danny met sammy (the blonde) in his summer math course and started dating her, caring for her, and eventually even giving his virginity to her

roma was ignored during this time, on accident, but she was NOT HAVING IT

and then ro found out she was moving hundreds of miles away, so she went to tell danny, had an argument, and eventually spilled that she wasn’t gonna live in san myshuno anymore

they made up and spent the one week they had before she left being cool pals

then danny SCREWED UP big time and didn’t show up to say goodbye to roma at the airport, because of sammy, and they both didn’t have the guts to text or call each other and they stopped talking for about five years

fast forward, and roma has graduated college, danny has moved in with sammy in newcrest, and everything’s chill

but then atlas shows up and they start dating again

roma gets deathly ill and danny finds out, so he goes to see her and they make up

sammy hates roma and didn’t like danny spending all his time at the hospital, so he breaks up with her

roma gets better, and danny finds a job in san myshuno

danny and roma say goodbye at the hospital and end up almost-kissing again (roma’s excuse was an empty one—she just felt very affectionate towards him & disliked her bf atm) (the kiss you mentioned) (it wasn’t lip-to-lip contact btw cause she kissed the corner of his mouth since she was technically in a relationship)

months go by with constant contact despite the distance, about 4 months to be exact

atlas cheats on roma, so she ends that relationship

she finds danny’s e-mail that he had sent four months prior, and realized she very much loved him too

she literally calls to tell him and find out he’s engaged to his high school gf (who roma stopped talking to cause dahlia became a brat)

danny’s excuse to getting engaged so quickly and haphazardly will be explained later, i promise. i am very aware it’s a ridiculous event but he’s being stupiD
