The Boy Who Leapt Through Time AU
(read from right to left)
First intermission for this AU ! We’re going back in time a bit, to see part 8 through Toji’s eyes. The goal of these intermissions is to deal with events Yuuta didn’t/couldn’t witness, and maybe throw some light on the goings on of the rest of the world
Well, right now, this one and another one are all that’s planned in terms of intermissions, so I still have to figure out some of the details haha
This month’s part is shorter than usual, which turns out to have been a pretty good thing, given I’m also working on kinktober one the side and that’s kind of eating away at some of my drawing time. And also college
(I’ll probably post the kinktober stuff on pixiv once I’m done, as a complete thing, if anyone’s wondering)
But man, it’s a real relief to have a lighter part, after the last one ! Drawing Yuuta’s smile healed my heart a little, even if it’s fake. I love him so much
Also, I was wondering : should I make something like a masterpost with all of the parts linked ?
I’ve been thinking about it because sometimes I go back to my posts to reference an older panel, and I realized that the longer this series goes on, the harder it will be to navigate if you’re interested in re-reading only a certain part or arc
So, yeah, should I make a masterpost ? Either as a separate post, or as a page on the blog ?
<< first - < previous - intermission - next >

unsure how to word this but there is something about having ocs with unsavory events happening in their past where it's like. talking about it, even when asked, seems almost gratuitous and inappropriate. and i'd much rather describe it through the oc themself and/or draw Them saying it. which is like. fitting for the subject matter? like of course its weird to talk about somebody else's business...!
and falls back into humanizing em/exploratory writing and development where u consider the impact of words said/words unsaid/HOW those words are said etc etc

thinking about floyd faking a broken arm after falling from his broom in pe class just so you’ll take care of him for the week. he’ll pout about how he can’t carry his books with just one functioning arm (yes he can) and that it would make him the happiest if you helped him. you suppose it wouldn’t be too difficult to offer your assistance. all he really wants is you to stay near him and carry his things. that shouldn’t be an issue, and jade’s also willing to help when the two of them meet up after classes for lunch or break periods.
but then, after another day spent catering to floyd’s whims and essentially being his designated book carrier (there are also the shifts you covered for him when he claimed he couldn’t do it with one arm (again, yes he can); azul better pay you for those hours), he corners you in one of the corridors with a hard-on, insisting you help him out because, in his exact words, “shrimpy’s so mean to force an injured person to do it!” and with his non-dominant hand as well! shame on floyd’s shrimpy! if your technique is poor when using hands, he’ll insist on using your mouth instead, so be good and let him use shrimpy’s warm mouth. unless you’d rather bend over for him so he can use elsewhere... :)
once floyd tires of pretending, he’ll cast the sling aside and wave his arms about, all with the brightest grin. he’ll laugh at your expression no matter what emotion is displayed, be it surprise, anger, annoyance, or even no reaction at all. floyd’s gotten to spend lots of fun times with his shrimpy (good. you were getting too friendly with other guys and he’d felt starved of your attention), so he’s happy! on the other hand, you’re conflicted because you did so many less-than-academic things with him in hopes of keeping his mood pleasant and now that you know he was faking it all along... he’s so troublesome sometimes.

poll time! stewy is most often portrayed as an only child in fics, but i'm curious to see how widespread that hc is. the appeal of the only child hc seems to be making him more of a foil to kendall/the other roys, who are eternally caught up in their sibling war. but of course, in the sibling show, the other side also has stuff to offer to.
i've also noticed a smaller trend of fics showing stewy being raised as an only child, but technically having siblings that he didn't grow up with for whatever reason - age gaps, half siblings, family estrangement, or death of a sibling are some of examples i've seen.
so, time to share, and please feel free to add your thoughts/headcanons in the tags and replies:

conflicting desires for lyke and duvall in sangfielle season 2:
-duvall low-key resenting lyke over the chine thing
-lyke high-key resenting duvall over the oratorio thing and EXPECTING duvall to resent him over chine but instead it's the same one-sided tension that they had on the jade moon
i want them to be involuntary friends. I want it to look like a huge 8ft tall straight* guy calling his obviously gay best friend a wretched bitch and everyone is a little uncomfortable about it except for duvall, who may or may not be behind lyke's bizarrely bad luck when it comes to flies landing in his drinks.
(*i don't think lyke is straight but i do think he's the type of bisexual man that people assume is straight)

Happy birthday month, Rebekah! I'm glad you exist :)
Predictably, may I please have an OC of your choosing?
I chose this scene from A Constellation of Six because it’s been in my head since I first read it and was the first image that came to me when you were deciding which short story to revisit.
Perfectionism strikes again and until today left me unwilling to commit to something less spectacular than the image inside my head, and that’s my only excuse for why this took so long. The pose itself came together fairly quickly despite no references on that account, and the rest was a breeze thanks to your research. In the end I gave up on the background and scribbled the night over everything except the two of them, but funnily enough what remained after that came much closer to what I’d imagined anyway.
so thank you for your patience with this one as well as the reference hunting you did, I had a lot of fun.

Nightwing #100 was fun and a good celebration of Nightwing's history and progress. The Titans set up was really cool to see and I hope DC follows through with putting the Titans into the spotlight.
BUT
It can't be in the Nightwing series. I can't think of anything more damaging to The Titans as a team and to Nightwing himself than to have the entirety of the Titans crammed into a solo series.
This is why we have team series and solo series. People don't read Titan series for stories 98% focused on Grayson with every other Titans character relegated to a cameo support role. People don't read Nightwing for stories revolving around his Titans' leadership duties.
The best part about the Titans is that it's a diverse group of personalities and skillsets. Every character gets a chance to shine, every character has a distinct personality and goals. They aren't Dick Grayson's backup dancers or personal cheerleading squad. And Dick's book should be where he gets to just be himself doing stealth missions and clandestinely fighting assassins, without trying to be the perfect leader that's always got a plan.
I liked Nightwing #100 and I've liked the other times Titans characters have crossed over into the series. But this can't just be it. They have to have a Titans series. They have to.
