Bro, just be thankful Lewis Hamilton called out on the f1 industry’s silence. Just be thankful that after the call out a lot of drivers reacted and took the best action they considered. They could have easily kept ignoring it, at least they are talking now, and you have a lot of influential famous white people in the industry talking about it and taking a stance. Who cares if it took a call out post to do it, personally, I believe it’s better than nothing at all. Please stop being all “oh so now you’re all talking” because THEY ARE TALKING and that’s the important part. Stop looking for every little thing that could maybe be problematic, and just be glad that, even if it’s the bare minimum, these (probably uneducated on the issue) drivers got called out on their inaction, realized their mistake and the influence they could have, and took to social media to break the silence. Even if you believe that they have no genuine good intention and they are just doing it to seem “woke”, that is what you believe, but you cannot possibly know the amount of people that these messages are getting across to, and I think the important part is to at least create awareness, so that these things don’t keep happening and going unnoticed. Today, everybody is talking about the BLM and how fucked up America is, as it should be. And every single person that has at least made one post or retweet/blog/post has made an impact in one person at the minimum. I truly believe that even a small gesture of empathy and support is better than complete silence and apathy, but that’s my opinion.

firstly I DO EVERYTHING FOR HIM, yet again i do his job every single day fixing the whole town paying for everything while he sits on his arse and does nothing but fuck with marines feelings!? like she deserves so much better man!! he uses his job as an excuse to not commit to marine he’s literally just dragging her along and playing with her feelings

i had to restore the whole community center AND HE SAYS LITERALLY NOTHING ABOUT IT i got awarded with a trophy that looks like vincent sculpted it in his fucking art class with penny (it’s got a tiny amount of gold in it cos we all know where the rest of the gold went to *ahem* lewis statue), like come on man he barely even thanks me “it looks better then ever” LEWIS I LITERALLY REPAIRED A BUS A QUAREY BRIDGE A WHOLE FUCKING BUILDING AND EVERYTHING AND HE SAYS NOTHING ABOUT IT ok sorry that part just annoys me cos like, he could at least come to the farmer and thank them or ask if he needs to contribute anything (which he never does he contributes nothing to the town) and i have put thousands into the town while he sits back and claims he’s a great mayor and he does so much, no lewis you organise the egg festival once a year that is doing nothing to help society

he also claims the town is great yet he is literally giving into joja? as a mayor shouldn’t he be trying to fight back? the whole town is a literal mess he’s completely blind to what’s going on behind the scenes or he just doesn’t care enough to do anything about it (also the minecarts and transportation is all fucked?)

yet he takes credit for everything like the special orders notice board ROBIN DID ALL THE WORK and he gets mad when she calls him out on claiming he helped, like no lewis you are useless

ALSO, why do i have to do his dirty work? i dont want to pick up his dirty boxers from the floor SPECIFICALLY MARNIES FLOOR (why cant he do that himself!?) like ok lewis we all know what you’ve been up to then

Agnes asking about “taking it from the top” WHAT. I love so much the way the characters “break character” it’s so interesting and well done! WHY IS WANDA LYING TO VISION.

oh my god the babies are children now?? why isn’t agnes noticing?? THEY’RE SO CUTE I COULD CRY ALL OVER AGAIN 

I do not. trust. hayward. Why is he asking about Wandas nickname? Monica knows whats up-- she knows Wanda is grieving and hurting.

Oh no Vision is starting to worry me. He’s onto Agnes, he’s noticing Wanda getting careless...the boys are adorable though. Good on Agnes for not even flinching.

WIP: Chronicles of Alyria

Robyn Tarao is a recurring character in the wip Chronicles of Alyria. He was born in Scasco in MiraGarria. Robyn is usually described as a bit of a bitch in the best way possible, he can come off a sweet in a sickly, fake way at first due to how he was raised, but if you get to know him he’s actually kinda mean in a nice, friendly way however he never seaks out to intentuonally hurt people he's just a bit awkward with sharing his emotions and would rather put up a fake unbothered attitude than tell you how he feels but that’s slowly breaking away. Clubs were raised to be coy and sly, they put up a mask in front new people and an air of formality and politeness around those who they don’t trust, Robyn is no different. He was raised in a house with multiple tutors, maids and mentors molding him into the vision his parents saw for him. He is good friends with few people and tends to be a bit closed off, the one of the few people that really get him are Crystal,his best friend and the queen of diamonds, they are very open and easily excitable with a sort of childlike love for people that Robyn finds very refreshing. he also really trusts Lewis and even Dominique.

Robyn is a heavily calculated individual and he hates it,  Clubs are raised to be calculated everything they say will go through multiple screening processes in their mind before they say it. Everything a club says should be taken with a grain of salt.  Robyn wants to change that but in the politics of nobility he knows honestly seldom gets you many places, he admires Dominique's ability to speak her mind i any situation.

Robyn has a lot of respect for Dominique, he admires her ability to stand on her own two feet without the approval of others around her, she admires her stubborn determination (a traits clubs appreciate) to always say what’s on her mind and he admires her ability to stick to her gut feeling even if it isn't pleasant. Dominique is one of the few people he trusts even if she doesn’t completely trust him. he values her friendship and considers himself lucky to have her around.

Robyn had a very odd relationship with his parents. His mother and father are very protective of him, he has to follow certain rules set for his "protection" , he has multiple guards around him even at home, they make sure to have a tracking spell on him whenever he's going somewhere without guards. His parents also have high expectations of him expecting him to always come out on top which does lead to Robyn experiencing high tense pressure and stress especially when it comes to the election.

"Address me as you're Highness I might as well use this title to my sweet pleasure"

Robyn has a sort of indifference to being queen of clubs. He takes the election seriously because it's what his parents expect of him and he know how serious of a competition it is but he really sees winning the election as a way to get his parents of his back. He knows that even if he doesn’t win he will never stop wanted to improve MiraGarria because that’s how much he loves it.

"We are simply two people in an intimate relationship where we both get something we need, for me it's excitement, for him it's pleasure."

Lewis is one of Robyn's many ways of secretly breaking his parents many rules but this one is really risky. Robyn didn't expect himself to actually fall in love with him it was just meant to be a one time thing for quick excitement but Lewis is someone special that Robyn doesn't want to let go off. Lewis is a chemist in the city of dove who works part-time as a bartender in the inner city. Robyn  thinks he’s the most exciting thing in the world, he loves everything about his life because of how much different it is from his own, his personality is different and in some ways even crude and it’s so much more interesting than the formalities Robyn has to deal with in his everyday life, he does sometimes find it very hard to be open with him cause of how awkward he can be and he secretly hopes Lewis knows how much he loves him. Robyn has toyed with the idea of running away with Lewis but in his own words, “I’m a Queen, not a princess I don’t run away from my problems I face them.. it’s just not the right time.”

Magic

Robyn is considered a prodigy in many things, magic isn’t one of those things, well at least compare to Dominique or even Crystal. he is very talented at potions but his magic is very scholarly and not to creative. But Lewis is helping him in that department.

Can you explain your thoughts on Phantom Thread? I tried searching for them, but I can’t find them.

ok but know i have nothing but excessive vitriol for this movie and im about to be mean. dont expect this to be organized.

Honestly? I don’t think the film really says anything. It’s about power and love i guess and it doesn’t really go anywhere. And frankly, I have a huge distaste for biopics of artists where they torture everyone around them but we need to make a whole movie about because ~their art~. (The same reason I hated Mike Leigh’s Mr. Turner). And no, the film does NOT turn the toxic masculinity on its head as it purports to. Lewis’ character is rewarded for his actions and makes it clear he will not be changing

The story is tedious and all the characters are hateable. Everyone in it is dumb and spends the time making dumb decisions and i am not exaggerating when i saw it in theaters i was giving physical reactions to how much i hated it. i thought it was absolutely disgusting that they framed the scene where they took the dress off of the drunk woman’s body as the right thing. more than anything i wanted lewis’ character dead and when she poisons him he ends up LIKING it. And if i have to hear vicky kreips do that weird stitled whisper voice one more time im going to lose it. 

and this film about nothing has become this sort of bizarre pretentious barometer for ~film people~ in bars in new york that they use to prove they like Cinema(tm). Like even as the films legacy evolved it manages to be bad. And people literally publish articles about “bad phantom thread takes” (google it) because they genuinely cant stand that someone could hate it. Like people are THAT defensive of this terrible film they had to make sure to refute every negative take on it I hate it.

What I will give it: Lesley Manville is terrific (you have no idea how much i hate that my favorite actress is in my least favorite movie) and her character was the only good one, it is very well directed and it has an excellent score. I did like the scene where he spys on her through the keyhole it was the only time I “got” the movie.

Whatever. Sorry this is mean. I can’t be nice about this movie I just can’t I despise it with every fiber of my being.

Ok so I did this last year and I really enjoyed doing it and looking back this year at all the songs I listened to in the past! So here goes :)

As always, I love my boy groups/male singers so just a little disclaimer because this list will definitely show that trend! 

50. EXO - DIAMOND 

This is such an interesting song and the chorus really caught me off guard (in a good way) deffo one of my faves from the boys’ new album.

49. RED VELVET - RED FLAVOR

This song really surprised me! I'm not someone who enjoys ‘cute’ songs and when I first heard this I didn't like it but my god it is so catchy!! I found myself humming along to it aaaalll the time. Therefore I had to add it to this list. 

48. BRAVE GIRLS - ROLLIN

I love brave girls, they are so sexy yet so fresh at the same time! I loved this song straightaway and the dance with the stools is so different but it is just great!

47. SEVENTEEN (PERFORMANCE UNIT) - LILILI YABBAY

I liiiive for the performance unit! (Dino is my bias sooo ;) ) The bridge of this song is brilliant, the higher pitch of it is such a contrast to the rest of the song, I just can’t get enough of it!!!

46. VICTON - EYEZ EYEZ

Although it still had an element of cuteness, this darker concept was so unexpected of the Victon boys! It really suited them!

This is such a chill summer vibe song!! Added to my driving playlist straightaway!

44. JONGHYUN (FEAT TAEYEON) - LONELY

What a beautifully talented and kind man, may he now rest in peace. This song was breath taking and his vocals as well as taeyeon’s are truly magical and I hope this song gets even more recognition!

43. NCT 127 - GOOD THING

What a tune!!!! I'm surprised this song is only number 43 because I had this on repeat all day when the album was released! You just can’t help but move to it!

42. MYTEEN - AMAZING

I think this song is a bit of a love/hate song - I love it! Myteen are a rookie boy group and this is their debut song and I have heard a lot of negative comments about it but the bridge and the chorus are so flipping catchy, you’ll deffo be singing it after hearing it!

41. G-DRAGON - UNTITLED 2014

Woah I did not expect this from G-Dragon! I’ll be honest, personally I'm not a massive fan of g-dragon’s rapping style but his voice!!?? damn it gave me chills! This is a super beautiful song.

40. TAEYANG - WAKE ME UP 

I love love love taeyang’s voice and paired with this song.... just wow. I think it was produced really well, how the first verse was very stripped back but then at the chorus the clap of the beat came in. It just really made his voice stand out 

39. IN2IT - AMAZING

Such a summer song with a very addictive tune “u-who who u- who who” ahhh so cute I love it 

38. SUNMI - GASHINA

Yaaasss slay girl! such an empowering song and I love the mix between cute and fierce 

37. HALO - HERE I AM

Halo are super underrated! I can’t understand why though because this song is super catchy! Please check them out, you won't regret it!

This song is freaking amazing! especially Woojin’s breakdown at the end of the song! His voice is so deep I love it 

35. CLC - HOBGOBLIN

This concept was brilliant!! I couldn’t believe it was CLC but those girls pulled it off so well! what a great comeback

Another really underrated boy group! This is such an upbeat and happy song! super duper catchy!!!

33. JBJ - FANTASY

I love this song so much! I really wanted to put it higher but there was just too many good songs last year! The first line just grabs you “you’re not a daydreamer” looooove!!

32. SEVENTEEN (VOCAL UNIT) - HABIT

Pure talent! solo, each boy is amazing but when they sing together for the chorus.... woah just gives me shivers!

31. UNIT BLACK - STEAL YOUR HEART

I never follow these sort of survival shows however listening to this song I became hooked, especially on Park Doha ....but where did he go? like most of the members of unit black went into In2it but not Doha?? anyway this song aaaahhh its great!!! needs way more recognition

woah. This band has become my new favourite (sorry cnblue I still love you) As a debut song, Sorry was amazing! their talent is no joke

2017 was clearly the year for boy groups! so many debuted and 80% of them I swear made it to my top 50 its just amazing! I love becoming obsessed with new groups! this song blew up when it came out, everyone was just so shocked that the boys produced the song and choreo themselves! 

28. B.A.P. - WAKE ME UP

I love when B.A.P do this darker concept, I think it really suits them! The message it portrays is really important and this with the great song made it a great comeback for the boys.

27. UP10TION - GOING CRAZY

Now i’ll be honest Up10tion songs can be hit or miss with me so when they came back with this song I was sceptical but my god I LOVE it soooo much! the contrast between the high voices of the singers and the deep voices of the rappers is really great

I only discovered microdot recently whilst on Spotify and I instantly downloaded his whole album! it was really difficult not to put like every song on here! This one I love because I really like when songs have a softer chorus but then rap verses.

Hotshot ma boyyyysss! I cant explain just how long I waited for this comeback! and they did not disappoint! It was a shame Sungwoon wasn't involved but he is doing great in wanna one so congrats to him :)

I love Block B’s vibes! They never go suit and follow other groups concepts and I think that's great! this song is a prime example, its just so different and distinguishable. I can’t help but dance alone to it

yes, I know what you’re thinking “has an Army really just put BTS’s comeback song 18th on her list” but trust me guys I tried really hard to do this list objectively and not just put BTS’s whole album right at the top. Don't get me wrong though DNA was AMAZING I remember hearing it for the first time and I ran around my uni flat screaming and getting everyone to come listen to this BOP. They smash it every time.

When my baby came in straight away with his beautiful voice I legit fell of my chair! I love how this song starts of so calm and this the well known sound of the chain smokers comes in and then..... suga singing like tf!? yessss come thruuuu with the vocals ugh I love him.

The Devil and the Dead: Chapter Seven

Based on @ectoimp‘s absorbing AU sketches (Most of which can be found here!).  

I’m giving credit and kudos to @arthur-tristan-kingsmen, @phantoms-lair, @answrs and of course, the illustrious @ectoimp for some of the discourse which guided the idea from vague AU to the story that does not want to stop running through my head. And for constantly adding new cute headcanons that are promising to make this longer.

Summary:  At first all he knew was darkness— rage, pain and the ultimate sting of betrayal.  And then Lewis opened his eyes…

Chapter Seven: Re’living’ History

It took a while for sleep to finally overwhelm Arthur’s efforts to fight it off, but he finally sank into a restless slumber. Lewis carefully draped a sheet over him, and looked down at his heart locket still caged in Arthur’s fingers. He thought about removing it, since he really wanted to show Vivi the photo inside of it, but thought it might be better to leave it with Arthur for the moment. He needed it more.

Lewis rose to his feet and with a thought, set two of his deadbeats to watch, one inside to keep an eye on Arthur and warn him if he woke or had a nightmare and the other to stand guard outside the door. He didn’t trust Mystery not to try something. Right now he couldn’t afford to trust Mystery all all.

Speaking of... Lewis turned his attention back to the deadbeat he’d left stationed with Vivi and Mystery, though honestly, he wasn’t expecting much but stony silence. When Vivi declared she wasn’t talking to someone, she meant it. But instead of the anticipated quiet, he heard Mystery still whining softly. “Vivi— please. You’re not safe here. They— this place is dangerous. Please, listen to me!”

The doubled-vision showed Mystery dancing impatiently around Vivi’s legs, having reverted to his smaller, more familiar form.

Vivi, standing by one of the windows, was ignoring him completely. She was idly fingering a fold of one of the curtains, her creased brow and distant look indicating she was deep in thought. Lewis wanted to just stare at her through the deadbeat’s eyes, drinking in the sight of her like water in the desert. He’d missed her so much.

Mystery, however, wasn’t giving up his efforts to make her leave them again. “Vivi, you’re in danger here. We can come back later, better prepared for— for what we might encounter.”

That got a reaction from her, but obviously not the one Mystery was going for. “I’m not leaving.”

Mystery shook his head in angry frustration. “Vivi, you know I could just carry you off—”

“I’d love to see you try.” Her tone was icy and now she turned a glare on Mystery.

“ —But then you would never listen to me again, and I need you to listen now. You can’t trust anything they say.” Mystery’s ears were flat to his skull.”I know you don’t want to believe me, but that’s not him. It can’t be! That was holy water I threw on it! You saw what happened yourself. No demon can bear the touch of holy water! It burns them. If it were Arthur, he wouldn’t have been harmed!” Mystery snapped air again in frustration. “You have to listen to me. You can’t trust that creature, no matter whose face it wears; and I don’t know what kind of hold it has over Lew—”

Vivi whirled around, her face alight with fierce glee. “So we do know him! How? Was he the other person that I can’t remember?” She latched onto the ruff on either side of Mystery’s cheeks. “Tell me the truth!”

Mystery tried to shake his head free of her grasp, but failed. Vivi yanked his furry face closer to hers. “Talk, mutt, or I swear I’ll let Grandma have a go at getting it out of you!”

“Yes,” Mystery said at last with a defeated sigh. “He’s the one you can’t remember. His name is Lewis— Lewis Pepper.”

“Pepper?” Vivi’s brow creased. “Pepper, as in the nice family that kept visiting me in the hospital?” She released Mystery, thinking hard. “Is he related to them?”

Mystery sighed and nodded slowly, “Yes. He— he’s the eldest son.”

“Is he important to us?”

“He was—” Lewis got the impression Mystery was choosing his words carefully. “A member of the team. He and Arthur were best friends... since forever, it seems.” He seemed to be thinking hard on what to say next, and as Lewis didn’t trust him to not tell Vivi more lies about Arthur; he hurried his pace. “He—”

“Don’t you think I should be the one telling her more about myself?” Lewis interrupted, entering the room.

Vivi looked up, relief brightening her eyes. “Mr. Pepper! Please, how is Arthur?”

Lewis leveled a flat stare at Mystery. “Resting for the moment. He’s... not well.” Considering that he could sense Arthur’s troubled sleep through both the deadbeat and the proximity of his locket, ‘not well’ was understating the case.

“Could I see him later, please, Mr. Pepper?” Vivi pled.

“Of course you may.” Lewis couldn’t help but smile lovingly at her. So very worried for Arthur. Without amnesia, she would never have abandoned them in the cave. “He’ll be very glad to see you. He’s missed you too. And please, call me Lewis. Mr. Pepper is my father.”

Mystery made a strange sound deep in his chest and Lewis transferred his gaze to him warningly. “You are not welcome to visit him. I think you’ve done quite enough harm.” He bared his teeth at the dog in something that wasn’t a smile.

Mystery ducked his head, a whining growl building in his throat. “I don’t know what hold that creature has over you—”

Lewis’s temper frayed a little. “It’s called friendship. You might try it sometime.”

Mystery ducked his head, ears canting backwards. “That’s not you talking.” He actually sounded hurt. “Lewis wouldn’t be so—”

“What? Justifiably angry?” Lewis wasn’t going to fall for his act. He.folded his arms and stared down at Mystery. “Wrong. He would be, because he is. Maybe you think you're protecting Vivi, but...” He shook his head heavily. “I’m not going to argue right now. I’m too angry to think straight. But I will warn you right now, if you ever try to hurt Arthur again, I will—”

“That isn’t Ar—”

“I dare you to spout that lie one more time,” Lewis simmered with barely controlled anger. “I’ve been with him since— well, since! Do you think I wouldn’t know my best friend?!”

“I think you are seeing what you want to see!” Mystery raged, teeth bared in a snarl. “I tried, but I was too late to save either of you.” That odd, mournful sound came from his mouth again. “I had to save Vivi, don’t you see?!”

Lewis saw purple out of the corner of one eye and realized flames were licking around his clenched fists. Struggling to extinguish them cooled his temper just enough to answer calmly. “I do. But I also see that you couldn’t be bothered to check back once she was safe. Were we just not that important to you? Even though you knew what it would do to Vivi?”

“As much as I’d love to know what’s going on, stop talking around me. I’m right here.” Vivi glared at both of them, small fists propped on her hips

“Vivi—” Mystery began.

“Don’t you Vivi me, bucko. I want an explanation and I want it now.” She leaned down into Mystery’s face. “Start talking.”

Mystery growled, ears flicking nervously. “There were four of us,” he said at last. “You and I, Arthur and Lewis—”

Vivi made a little triumphant sound and glanced sideways at Lewis. He smiled to see it.

“We were searching the cave because of reports of strange occurrences and po— happenings there.” Mystery continued reluctantly. “There— the cave, it made me nervous, but I could not get a... a bead on what I was sensing. Arthur, he— because of his sensitivity, was even more frightened of the cave than his normal— wariness... about supernatural situations. Perhaps we all would have done well to listen to him.”

“And—?” Vivi prompted when he hesitated too long.

“I— failed to sense it in time to prevent something terrible from befalling us.” Mystery looked down at his paws.

Lewis was too angry to buy into the ‘poor me’ posture. “You certainly seemed to know something was wrong enough to leave Vivi and follow us.”

“Because that is where I sensed the most danger!” Mystery snapped, head coming up to fix Lewis with a scathing glare. “I didn’t know what we were walking into.”

“What did we walk into?” Vivi narrowed her eyes at Mystery. “I want the truth.”

Mystery clacked his teeth together with a frustrated sound. “There was— something in the cave. Old, and malicious. I sensed what it was planning just a little too late. I tried, but I couldn’t save anyone.” An eerie, mournful sound began in his throat. “I failed, and all I could do was get you out of there before it got you too.”

“What happened? What did you do?” Vivi was leaning down into Mystery’s face.

“I got you away and sealed the cave.” Mystery looked away, his entire posture one long line of sorrow.

Lewis huffed, glaring down at Mystery. “Why don’t you tell her the truth?”

Vivi’s bright blue eyes peered up at him suspiciously. “What truth?”

Lewis hated seeing that look directed at him, but she couldn’t help it. She didn’t remember him. He doubted she would give his words more credence than Mystery’s, but he had to try. “It... I suppose the best thing to call it was a demon. Arthur, he was vulnerable to it. It got into him, stole control of his body from him. It used his body to— to—” Lewis couldn’t force the words out of his mouth. He’d come to terms with it, really he had, but it was still too painful to say. As much as he’d wanted to reunite with Vivi, this was not at all how he’d imagined it.

“To—” Vivi stepped up to him, laying a gentle hand on his wrist. “To kill you, right? That’s what it did? It killed you.”

Lewis could only stare at her slender fingers on his arm. They were warm and solid and he wanted so much to take them in his own. “I— how?”

Vivi glanced down at the floor. “You don’t have a shadow.”

The afternoon sunlight through the curtains had painted long shadows on the wood floor under her and Mystery, but not of him. Lewis had never even realized...

“The demon took over Arthur and used him to kill you. Then what happened?” Vivi’s tone was soft and sympathetic.

Lewis tore his eyes away from her hand on his wrist with difficulty and stared sourly at Mystery, who was looking oddly at Vivi, his head cocked so far to one side it looked like his neck was broken. “You going to tell her?”

Mystery snapped his head upright and stared back at Lewis. Behind his tiny glasses, his eyes were damp.”I— she couldn’t remember. I couldn’t tell her that! I—” He threw back his head with an agonized howl. “I didn’t want her to know. How could I tarnish her memory of Arthur by telling her a demon stole his body to murder the per— someone?!” He bought his head back down to stare at Lewis with tormented eyes. “How could I let that ruin her memory of him?! Arthur wouldn’t have wanted that for her!”

Vivi’s hand dropped from Lewis’s arm as she whirled to glare at the remorseful mutt. “Are you seriously that special? Do you really think I would let what some asshole demon did color my perceptions so badly?”

“Errr... yes?” Mystery’s tone made it sound like a question, confusion filling his face and his ears canted out to the sides.

Vivi rolled her eyes. “Jee-zeus banana-fish, Mystery. Nice to know what you think of my mental facilities.” She stomped over to grab his muzzle and pull his head up. “Listen here, butt-sniffer extraordinaire. Did you honestly think I would hold the actions he did under possession against him?”

Mystery yipped indignantly and pulled his muzzle free. “I didn’t sense the possession until too late! How would you have known any better? You would have thought Arthur—!”

“No, I wouldn’t have.” Vivi said with complete confidence. “I know Arthur. He wouldn’t have hurt anyone, unless it was to protect someone else. And if—” she waved one hand in Lewis’s direction. “Lewis here— was also one of his best friends, Arthur would have never done a fucking thing to hurt him!”

“Vivi—” Mystery tried.

“I’m through. I’m tired of half-answers and evaded questions. I want some real answers. They better start being provided.” Vivi folded her arms and glared down over the rim of the glasses. “And I guess my senses are better than yours, because that was Arthur, not some demon you attacked. So I’d like an answer for that attack as well.”

“No!” Mystery barked. “Vivi, no! That wasn’t Arthur. It couldn’t be! Arthur died in that cave!”

Too late, it seemed, Mystery realized that was the entirely wrong thing to say. He flinched backwards from the storm of rage brewing on Vivi’s face.

“Funny thing about that,” Vivi’s voice was sharp enough to cut glass. “I told you I believed Arthur was still alive, even after the evidence the police brought us. I was certain. You...” She poked Mystery’s nose hard with one outstretched finger. “You didn’t even try to convince me otherwise. You said that you couldn’t remember what happened in the cave, so there was a chance he was still alive. And yet, here he is, very much alive, and now you’re trying to tell me he’s dead. Which is the lie and which is the truth? Because right now, I’m inclined to believe everything you’ve ever told me is a lie!”

Lewis wisely decided not to say anything. He didn’t want her ire turning on him. She was magnificent in her controlled rage and Mystery was obviously enough cowed by it.

Mystery went belly-down on the floor, stub of a tail tucked and ears pressed flat to his neck. “Vivi—”

“I’d better start hearing some truth outta you.” Viv wasn’t giving an inch.

Neither, it seemed was Mystery, who only whined and tried to press himself even further into the wooden floor.

Lewis sighed and ventured carefully, “Maybe I can start and he can fill in some of the blanks—?” It seemed a wiser course of action than letting Mystery fill the silence with more accusations to fling at Arthur.

Vivi turned to face him a smile as bright as the dawn breaking on her face. “I think that sounds like a wonderful idea— Lewis, wasn’t it?”

Those three words caused a sick feeling to ripple through Lewis’s entire being, but he covered it with a pleasant smile. “It is. Why don’t you have a seat and I’ll fill in what I can for you.”

Mystery’s head came up and he whimpered softly, but said nothing, too wary of invoking another display of Vivi’s temper.

Vivi sat on the couch, sunlight from the window behind her haloing her blue hair. Her smile was eager, like a child promised a treat and Lewis’s stomach sank at the thought of making that expression fade with the truth of what had happened in the cave. But she deserved to know the truth and she would thank none of them for trying to hide it from her.

Lewis took a seat opposite her on one of the purple-velvet wingback chairs. “So, like Mystery told you, the four of us were going to explore a cave. You... I don’t know how much you remember, but you had researched a lot of the paranormal tales about the area, and the cave seemed to be the focal point of all of them. Just inside the entrance, Arthur— He got even more spooked than usual. He said the place had a really bad vibe to it. He tried to get us to leave, but didn’t try again after you reminded him that that’s what we were there for, to deal with the problem before someone else got hurt— or worse.”

Lewis closed his eyes, seeing the dank, green-tinted walls of the place in his mind again. “Just inside the entrance, the tunnel split into two, one leading up and the other going down. Arthur and I took the high road and you and Mystery were supposed to head down. But Mystery followed us instead.”

“I told you, I sensed more danger the way you two were going!” Mystery protested.

“Didn’t do us a whole lot of good, now did it?” Lewis didn’t open his eyes to look at the dog, instead reliving the night in the cave. “Our path took us up a narrow tunnel, that widened out into a cliff overlooking... what looked to be a sea of stalagmites in an eerie greenish mist that almost seemed to glow. Arthur was even more nervous, but I— I went right up to the edge, trying to see if there was a source for the luminescence. He warned me to stay away from the edge, but—”

Lewis swallowed hard, even though he no longer had a gorge to rise. “Artie— he made this s-strangled sound, and when I turned to see, there was— a hand against my chest, shoving me backwards and over the l-lip.” Lewis shivered, trying hard not to remember the feeling of falling, or the sudden bright shock of pain that brought it all to an abrupt end.

“I didn’t remember it til I c-came back, but I saw his face. Half of it was terrified and crying and the other half... it was tinted green, and laughing. I think I heard you scream and I know I saw or imagined you... spattered with blood, but for a time, there was nothing.” Lewis trembled again, knotting his fingers together in his lap.

Warm fingers brushed over his and surprised, Lewis opened his eyes. Vivi had scooted forward to the edge of her seat and leaned forward, her arm outstretched to touch him. “I don’t remember any of this, but for what it’s worth, I’m sorry for dragging up such things.”

Lewis manage a shaky smile and patted her fingers. “No. While I’m glad you can’t remember— that part, at least— you need to know what happened.”

Vivi smiled at him, and even though he knew she couldn’t remember him, it was comforting. Lewis gave her another wobbly smile and tried to compose himself to remember his own personal hell. “W-when I— woke up, I guess? I was angry, because all I could remember was— was Arthur pushing me. But that’s when I saw—” God, it hurt to remember, and he didn’t want to describe Arthur’s horrific injuries to her. “Arthur had fallen too. I— I— it was bad. All of the anger went out and all I could think was that— the cave had killed him too.”

Lewis thought idly if he could still breathe, he’d be close to hyperventilating now. The memory of Arthur impaled like that lurked in the back of his brain and made his whole being feel sick. “I thought he was dead too, until I was holding him and he gasped. He— he was bleeding all over the place and— and hurt so bad, but he was aware of the thing in his head and was trying to get away— to keep it from— h-hurting me.” The next part was even harder to put into words. “He c-convulsed and then for a minute it wasn’t him, but the thing that— that killed me. But it reached for me and then Arthur was back, fighting t-to keep it away from me.” Lewis had to fight to keep himself from shaking. It still felt as fresh as when it happened. The strange echoing voice emerging from Arthur’s bloody lips and the acid green eye staring back at him... he’d never forget that horrifying moment. And then, Arthur had been back, in horrible pain from his injuries, but still fighting with the monster in his mind to protect Lewis.

“Arthur would do that,” Vivi said with a watery smile, reaching out to squeeze his hands again. “He always thinks of others first.”

Lewis gave her a grateful smile. “Yes. He really does.”

Mystery made a disgruntled sound, but said nothing. Vivi side-eyed him, but when he remained silent, turned her attention back to Lewis. “And...?”

“He spent most of the time unconscious or delirious, fighting with the thing in his mind. He was healing, but at the same time, his body was changing into what you saw.” Lewis said carefully, turning his eyes onto Mystery who was squirming in place, like he wanted to say something, but he kept his muzzle shut. “He was— hurt— for a long time. But eventually he came to his senses...” Lewis intensified his glare on Mystery. “He remembered you attacking him, there on the cliff.”

“I was trying to save him!” Mystery burst out. “I was too late to save you, but I could have saved him if I could have taken the point of infection! But—” He whined mournfully and shook his head. “The creature pulled him free of my grasp and stepped backwards, off the edge. It killed him! I saw the awareness in Arthur’s eyes as he fell. The monster left him to die!”

Rage bubbled up in Lewis’s chest again. “You left him to die! You sealed us into that damned cave. You never came back, even though you knew there was a chance at least our spirits lingered! You could have come back!”

“I had to protect Vivi! If I had let that demon out of the cave, it might have come after her!”

“I can protect myself, Mystery, or did you forget that?” Vivi’s tone was cold.

“You weren’t yourself! You were dazed and almost catatonic! I had to herd you out of there like a child!” Mystery scowled, ruff bristling.

Lewis might have said something else in his rage at the dog, but a frantic bid for attention from the deadbeat he had left with Arthur cooled his temper. A moment later, a panicked scream rang from the hallway.

With a curse, Lewis took off down the hall. Vivi was hot on his heels but he didn’t have the attention to spare her. Through his locket, he could sense Arthur’s panic and confusion, woken from a nightmare and in pain.

Lewis bolted past the deadbeat he’d left to guard the room, hurrying to Arthur’s bedside, where Arthur was trying to thrash free of the sheets and pillows. The bandages on his wings seemed to be adding to his panic, because his wings kept flexing against the binding of the gauze.

“Arthur!” Lewis rushed to untangle Arthur, helping him sit upright and catching his chin to turn Arthur’s wild-eyed gaze his way. “Shh— Arthur... I’m right here. You’re okay. It was a nightmare.”

“Lew...?” Arthur’s voice was soft, almost childlike in its sleepy confusion. “I t-think I had a nightmare, but I was dreaming about Vivi before that...” He hesitated, licking chapped lips. “Hurts...”

“Shh—” Lewis soothed, smoothing back Arthur’s damp hair.

“Artie—?” Vivi’s voice trembled a little. She stepped up beside Lewis and sat on the edge of the bed, reaching out to touch Arthur’s cheek. “Hey, there.”

Arthur’s breath caught in his throat and he lifted one hand from the locket to touch hers on his face. “Vi? Am I still dreaming?” His voice was still soft and thick with sleep.

Vivi’s voice caught on a sob. “No. I’m here. I finally found you.” Tears welling in her eyes, she leaned forward to press a tender kiss on his forehead, right between his horns. “I’m right here.”

“Vivi—” Arthur hiccupped a sob and hauled Vivi into a hug with desperate strength. “I thought we’d never see you again!” He buried his face in her shoulder, his breath hitching.

Vivi went willingly into the hug, tears spilling down her cheeks and a huge grin stretching her lips. “I’d’ve kept searching til I found you. You can’t get rid of me that easily!”

Lewis couldn’t help the huge grin on his face. Maybe they were still a little battered and broken around the edges, but they were all together again.

A white streak darted from the doorway, shaking off the deadbeat trying to restrain it. Mystery dodged past Lewis and sprang for the bed, snatching the forgotten locket from Arthur’s lap in his teeth. He kicked off the bed, forcing a frightened wail from Arthur, who recoiled violently, and bolted for the doorway, shedding his smaller form as he went.

“I’m sorry!” His voice trailed in his wake. “You’ll forgive me later when I’ve freed you from the demon’s influence!” 

Then he was gone in a flare of reddish flames.

Reaching into my thoughts I pull out the hated memory of seeing lala land because it ruined my faith in cinematography to cast people for singing roles. Letter to my black people in Honor of Black History Month

Back in the 60s we stood together, we marched and fight together, we made demands and got answers, today all we do is follow others, we have no concern about our situation. I am talking to the smart, the dumb and the retards you have to pick which one you are, we have are following those who are protesting but dont realize we are hurting the worst, when those celebrities are out there protesting against the president they have special interests and none of them are your concerns, Madonna is protesting, Cher is protesting among many even your Steve and Al Sharpton against Trump but none of them live in your community or dodging bullets, when the last time you see any of them in your community Steve Harvey brag how he has police body guarding his home, Al sharpton lives in the heels of T-Neck when the last time you see or any of those people in your community? not one time and none of you can serve as witness they have no idea what goes on in the black community other than what they see on the news or may someone who runs with them still lives in the community.

while those folks are against the president they are hurting the community if the president sign a policy that will help the community because those people are so against him those of us who needs help suppose to suffer just because a number of Americans refuse to accept the reality. I have heard many says they are so against Trump they would not talk to him and would not work with him, well let me understand the intelligent mind, how are we suppose to get help for our community if we wont talk to the president who constantly writing policies before his 100 days, how are we suppose to raise awareness and make demands? if Donald trump call a black person a nigger he was not talking about me because before him i knew who i was and know who i am, when he was talking the stuff he was talking he was not talking about me, when he was grabbing women the way he did he was not grabbing my daughter either Trump or any man who degrades my daughter would not still be alive, i raised my daughter like a young lady she is now a teenager i am a father and will continue to be a father and teach her how she should be treated, therefore Donald Trump is not my concern because i am raising my kids like a father should.

Donald Trump was the only politician to look at black people in the face and tell them the truth, every politicians especially the democratic candidates have been sugar coating you, why dont you tell me how have that been working for you? he told you that your community is filled with crimes, well let see people are moving out of the community everyday including me, and those who cant are afraid to walk these streets, he said your school system is poor and need help, how many graduates do we have going to college and what is the number of the drop outs, he said unemployment is on the rise and there is no family values in the black community, well how many black folks we know with degrees but cant find jobs, many of black women are struggling to raise kids on their own, fathers are gone and they losing control of the kids, can somebody who lives in the black community tell me which part of all that is a lie? because i am still one who is from the community and still walks the community when ever i please, any one who says they would not work with the president is a damn fool, to any one of the people you know who will not sit down and talk to Donald Trump please ask them what better solution they have to help the black community, when will they start the process and give us the numbers, names and websites of the groups who will start helping because as of right now we are in a crisis.

If i could meet President Trump today i would explain to him why i did not vote for him, i would tell him why i am still hurting for the reason that i could not vote for him and if he could repair that damage i promise i would stand with him the next election around should he decides to run again. I would also plead to the president about the help the community desperately need and if he can at least help with 25% of the problem i truly believe we can start to get back on our feet to a better tomorrow. Many brag about the former president Obama, yes he did a lot of good things, but who exactly did they benefit? when Obama set aside funds for the holocaust victims, he never even acknowledge the slave victims even your black president treated you like you never existed, for 6 years under president Obama my health plan went from $120 biweekly to $451 now that the new president signed the executive order my health provider not only refund me for the month of January, but they also make the adjustment of the new premium at $249.51 because they are keeping some stuff in the affordable care policy, while you are out there protesting because things dont work your way, think about what if some of us were out there protesting against everything we did not agree with Obama, why dont you do the math of the difference i was being charged on my health care every two weeks and see how much money i could of save and invest toward my kids future, thanks to your great president Obama many of us had to suffer yet we never raise hell.

while Obama was president he had many opportunity to set policies to protect every American citizens from police brutality especially people of color in this country just like he did with Obama care a simple general policy, instead he done nothing but making fancy speeches, some people came to his defense and says well he went to some of the funerals in Chicago if that is such of big deal do you know how many funerals i have been through with victims from gun violence do you know how many funerals i have assist with financially and support with rallys? believe me your former president did not please so many of us, but we were not out there protesting. Black people need to wake up and look around, who really standing with you? when the 49 people got shot at the gay club the country stood up to band guns and change the gun laws, but when we are shot even though they say they know where the guns are coming from, they still wont tell you who are bringing those guns in the black community, because they know from the local officials and top politicians are involve so the black community become the black market for those with greed. Because so many people are against Trump they even attack his kids where they have a campaign against Ivanka Trump called "GrabYourWallet" in order to pull her products off the shelf, well guess what majority of those big chain store outlets continue to stop selling her products. Now are you retarded black people, are you paying attention? white America can watch a black man shot dead like a dog left to bleed to death, or a college kid by the name or Mike Brown shot dead by cops, a grand father by the name of Eric Garner choked to death by a bunch of Cops where he repeatedly crying he cant breathe they did not care but took his life, those are innocent black people we watched on video as they took their last breath not one time white America stood with you, not one time white America cry with you, but like a bunch of fools with no concern trying to fit in are out there protesting, but can you tell me what exactly you expect to get out of all that? until you love your self no one will value anything you have until they can use you.

For Years democratic candidates lied to us, they disrespect us, they give hand outs to those who refuse to grow in order to keep their silence because of that the rest of us are out numbered, The former president you called the first black president "Bill Clinton" signed the crime bill in 1994 that same crime bill put away fathers, brothers, and sons in prison and you still worship him and his wife like a God, Bill clinton collect about 9 Billion dollars from the international community for the earth quake victims in Haiti, today Haiti remains the poorest country full of diseases but no one question the Clinton Foundation to find out the role of that money, yet you reward him by supporting his wife to become president, should he was a black man with all that money would you treat him the same? John Lewis took a seat for Gun laws when the 49 shooting took place at the gay night club, where is John Lewis when innocent black people are dying by gun violence in the black community, where is John Lewis when the racist cops are killing innocent black people, where have John Lewis been? all those years he has been in congress, what have John Lewis do to help the black community, how is the black community in John Lewis district are growing?

When John Lewis had his little feud with Donald Trump you people called him a hero just because he marched during the civil rights movement, well he is not my hero, John Lewis said he never met Bernie Sanders during the civil rights movement, he made it seem that Bernie sanders contribution did not mean anything, but he said he did meet the Clinton, if John Lewis is a hero for marching in the civil rights movement what about the young kids, the men and women who lost their lives during those marches, did they die in vain, are they not our Heros? John Lewis have the opportunity to tell his story, he has the opportunity to make changes, but what have he done ever since, if John Lewis is so against the president for what he stands for, but not for what he can do to help the black community, does John Lewis have a solution, if he does how come we have not heard about it? may he can make a press conference and tell us about his plan that can help the black community, how and when will he start working on such plan. The world knows you hate your self which is why our community refuse to grow, outside of the black community every one else are rising up everyday, sit down take a look at your self, trace your step back, evaluate your actions and decisions, and just may be we might be able to grow together, but without love and unity you will continue to fall as you will find your self back to modern day slavery.
