It's Steve being an ass out of fear and Billy not caring too much to start with because he's just enjoying the tease of him. And then Steve being an ass because he enjoys the power, he sees Billy wanting it more and he starts to enjoy it more with less fear but he still needs to feel a control so he's a little cruel, baits him and toys with him. And Billy starting to feel it but still not wanting to give this up, goes along with it.

And then maybe eventually he draws a line and Steve gets angry and fearful and mean, maybe messes with another guy in a way so that Billy finds out to make him jealous or finds out Billy is messing around with someone else and he starts trying to take them away, but when it pushes Billy further and he gets cold with Steve, he realises he's just hurt and starts to crawl back a little sweeter when he realises he misses Billy and not just what they were doing.

Or maybe Steve just realises he wants to hang out with Billy and not always be doing something, just be around him, talking and laughing and just leaning against him whilst they smoke or watch tv, with no other agenda. And it's difficult and he missteps a lot but they get there and he realises all the shit he done to Billy and starts trying to make up for it, being kinder and sweeter and caring and the way hes been with other partners before, and Billy is overwhelmed with getting what he wanted deep down. Maybe it's hard to navigate and he doesn't react well, scared to give in to it just for Steve to return to that cruel way before? But Steve doesn't. He deals with his issues and communicates more, cares openly with Billy. And Billy starts to learn to believe in his own self-worth and when he struggles, Steve makes sure to help him know it. And they actually start being happy.

I just love what you've done and how you write it, but i hate how it's consumed me and its the only type of relationship I wanna read right now.

Thinking about giving Shanks a weird obsession/ Pavlovian response to lipstick of all things. I’m imagining Buggy as a teen practicing his first stage makeup and going trough the motions, glitter, eyeshadow, liner, spending ages getting the crossbones right. He’s not quite satisfied with his first try of lipstick and wipes it off before he even finishes his upper lip. Shanks teases him from his bunk, Buggy’s been looting the kitchen for cooking oil, since that’s the easiest makeup remover he can acquire, for weeks now, but the other boy is on a mission and he’s so close to figure out his first perfectly flashy look, so he’s uncharacteristically hard to rile up today. He goes trough the motions again, liner, lipstick, swabbing of a bit of excess color with a paper towel. It’s hypnotic to Shanks for some reason he can’t quite explain yet. He watches as his friend pops his lips once, twice, sticks his thumb in his mouth. „What was that last part for?“ „Getting it off my teeth.“ Buggy turns, lips bright red and white teeth flashing him a ferocious grin. "What do you think?" Shanks thinks he will never get sick of watching Buggy try out every color under the sun on his face. That hes like a Parrot, loud and colorful and just as silly and ridiculous and pretty. That he wants to taste greasepaint and kiss that pretty shade of red off of Buggys face himself. "Flashy!" is what he answers instead with a thumbs up.

Years later Shanks still thinks the act of putting on makeup is mesmerizing, catches a look of a young woman lining her lip with a compact mirror and stares for a second. It’s awkward, always having to excuse himself later, because of course this reads to everyone around him as flirting, but it would be cruel to make someone hope for something like this. It’s not like it’s their fault after all. The color might be right but it’s never the right person.

Something that's surprised and bewildered me a lot over time has been how people who smoke weed seem to think it's like... nbd to like, take a hit in the middle of the day in public, do you know what I mean? To be fair at least a third of that time is pushing the executive function button so I can start the next nest. They're unfortunately one of those activities that has enough steps that each one feels like it's own separate thing, so I have to Start Task each damn time. So there's a 5-10 minute cooldown between them.

Got 9 nests, I think (on top), middle is some fleece that's already had a lot of locks picked out so it's kind of jumbled, bottom is combing waste.

Thinking abt the time travel fix it fic I have spinning around in my head. Unfortunately for it to work I have to kill off basically every single character of importance which is all well and good it just feels kind of brutal

#sep talks #septimus heap #like basically all the heap brothers die in mysterious accidents. Right up to the last couple who r just obviously shot #jenna dies in almost the same way her mother did. In the throne room and marcia and septimus r there and an assassin shows up #silas+sarah also. Why?? Idk maybe it's a birthday. Maybe it's bc they're trying to figure out how to keep septimus safe bc logically #he's next. But anyway this assassin is a little sneakier than the one that shot alther. No one sees them until the last second #sarah takes a bullet for jenna. It doesn't help bc jenna gets shot anyway a second later. Marcias in a panic trying to #get silas+septimus away. Silas refuses to leave bc he's basically lost everyone he loves most #he tells marcia he'll deal with the assassin when her shield goes down. And so she practically drags septimus away so at least she can #keep him safe #and. Bc there's no queen anymore. DD takes over. Marcia still has the amulet but they have no real way to get rid of dd #marcia very nearly ends up back in dn1 at one point. Like literally standing on the edge abt to fall #they keep trying to fix things but they just. Can't. Ppl end up seeing marcia as like. Not necessarily the eow who Failed #but she couldn't stop him from showing up so what could she possibly do now #it's more pity than blame and honestly to marcia that's worse #ppl keep dying and it's so much worse than when the custodian was in charge #and anyway yeah that's what makes marcia+septimus go for the house of foryx
