head over heels !!
Tumblr media
cameron james x fem!reader !! best friends to lovers !!
warnings : swearing , fluff , cameron being so so so clueless.
synopsis ; in which cameron’s best friend writes a poem about a mystery boy for an english assignment and he is determined to find out who it’s about.
a/n:divider made by @cafekitsune <3 also ik that cameron is in a military family and moves around a lot but we’re gonna ignore that for the sake of the fic. lower case intended !! also i got all of the french from google translate 😶
Tumblr media
it was a warm autumn wednesday at padua high school. you had been working restlessly on a poem you had been assigned for mr morgan. many hours had been spent to perfect it.
you were getting your book of shakespeares sonnets out of your locker, when all of a sudden non other than your best friend cameron came up beside you.
“hey y/n/n!” cameron smiled as he stood by your locker.
“hey cam.” you smiled. you had liked him for a while now. well, a while being three and a half years, since your freshman year.
“i brought you this.” he smiled giving you a caffeinated beverage (your choice). you smiled softly taking the drink from his hands, taking a sip.
“thanks cam. i really needed a pick me up.” you told him.
“i can tell.” he teased. you shove him lightly, as he lets out a soft giggle.
“cmon the bells gonna ring soon.” you told the boy, as he nodded, following you as you made your way to mr morgan’s class.
once you two got situated in your seats, mr morgan started class. “okay for the assignment i told you guys to write love poems, like shakespeare did. would anybody like to share? it coulda been about your couch for all i care” nobody had raised their hand. “fine, i’ll pick.” you sort of zoned out not paying attention to mr morgan until you felt a light nudge coming from beside you.
“ow!” you harshly muttered, looking to see cameron trying to get your attention.
“mr morgan said your up to present your poem.” he told you. you looked up to see mr morgan with his eyebrow raised and his arm crossed.
“are you just gonna sit in wonderland, alice? or are you gonna get up here and read your poem?” he asked sarcastically.
you muttered a soft apology as you grabbed your f/c binder and walked up to the front of the classroom. truth be told you were very nervous because the poem you had wrote was about cameron. but you didn’t want him to know that secret piece of information.
you cleared your throat and looked around the room, your subtle but nervous eyes meeting cameron’s soft brown irises. he gave you a reassuring smile as you returned it with a soft tight lipped one.
“we’re waiting.” mr morgan said impatiently. you quickly opened to the page and began to read aloud.
his moon , my sun , together we are one.
he is the ocean breeze to me , and one may not ask why.
it’s the coffee in the morning and tea at night.
and the way he gives off a mysterious light.
the snow falls down , and you’re still around.
my thoughts are present too. i would much rather be visited by you.
two lovers on the road , with no destination.
is what i would like to be without hesitation
my only words to that sweet question is “yes.”
you finished and shut the f/c binder as cameron grinned giving you a look of “you better explain.”
“well done nicholas sparks.” he remarked, moving on. all you felt was the sporadic glances that cameron would give you during class. you shot him glance and threw him a note telling him to drop it. in return he just rolled his eyes playfully.
after the class was over , you were fast to rush out not wanting to be faced with cameron’s interrogation. that was until he caught up with you.
“you need a ride home, remember.” he reminded you. in your mind , you mentally facepalmed yourself. “don’t worry i’ll go easy on you.” he teased.
“just let it go cam, it’s just a silly crush.” you muttered to him. cameron had a look of shock. his hand to his heart as he walked to his car.
“y/n/n if it was just a silly crush than you wouldn’t write a full romance novel about them!” he told you dramatically. alas, you signed knowing the brunette was right. “is it joey “eat me” donner?” he asked her. “because if it is you know i’ll try to be supportive but-“ you cut him off.
“cameron it is NOT joey. that’s ridiculous.” you spoke matter of factly as he opened the door to his car.
cameron started the ignition and head over heels by tears for fears was playing softly on the radio.
“what about jimmy? michael? brian? patrick? you know if it was patrick, i would 100% understand he is a pretty boy.” he muttered.
“cameron no.” you told him after shaking her head after all the previous names. “just drop it.” she sighed. there was a moment of silence.
“is it kat?” he softly spoke as he looked at you.
“CAMERON!” you exclaimed. a small chuckle left your lips at his determination. cameron figured he would drop it for now and move on to a separate subject.
“anyway, you promised to help me with my french homework remember?”
“yeah, don’t worry i didn’t forget.” you smiled softly, knowing french was cameron’s worst subject, but he tried managing a solid C- in the language.
as you two arrived at the james residence, you trudged your way upstairs and flopped onto cameron’s bed after putting on a tears for fears cassette , playing softly in the background. cameron followed as he sat down beside you, kicking off his shoes.
“mkay, salut! je mapelle y/n , comment allez-vous?” you spoke. cameron listened as you spoke in the language.
“hello, my name is y/n. how are you?” he repeated in english. a bright smile was displayed on your face.
“oui! très bien!” you praised him. he smiled sheepishly. “i’m beginning to think you don’t even need my help.” you teased him.
you two continued to do french homework until cameron spoke up. “give me a harder one.” he challenged. all of a sudden you were feeling pretty gutsy.
“okay cam.” you said, “tu es très jolie et je veux être plus que des amis.” you continued, a regretful feeling in the pit of your stomach as his gaze averted to figure out what you said. you could tell when it clicked.
“aww y/n/n i think you’re pretty too, but we are more than friends, i’m youre bestfriend silly.” he smiled. you’re eyes widened slightly, how did he not take the hint?
“no cam, not like that.” you informed him. you could practically see the question mark over his head. he pondered for a couple of seconds.
“like what?” he muttered. that feeling of confusion melted away once your lips were on his in a state of impulse. he melted into the kiss, as his hands grabbed your face and your hands grabbed each one of his shoulders.
once you two broke apart he was awestruck. “mamma mia.” he mumbled. his eyes as big as dinner plates and his mouth agape.
“wrong language cammy.” you teased.
“but…but that poem? that was about..” he trailed.
“you.” you calmly stated. he looked up to you softly.
“wait…how long?” he asked.
“since freshman year.” you told him.
“and you waited that long to do that?!” he asked, doubfoundedly.
“well i didn’t know if you felt the same way, and you went through that whole thing with bianca and that whole spew to get her to like you back and-“ you continued to ramble until cameron cut you off with another kiss.
“it’s always been you y/n/n. bianca was just to get my mind off of you because i was too scared to think of us as anything more than friends…i didn’t want to ruin that.” he mumbled, looking down at his homework.
you smiled softly at his confession. “well is it that hard to imagine with a visual?” you asked him. he looked up with a confused look, and those puppy dog eyes you adored. you kissed him once.
“i think i can see a picture in my head now.” he said against your lips.
all that was heard was head over heels playing softly in the background.

Summary: So'lek was protective before but now that his little mate is pregnant, he grown even more protective.
(So'lek x Human!Reader)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warnings: pregnancy, possessiveness, fear of losing child, mentions of birth
Translations:
kelku = home
ma'tìyawn = my love
Angstik = The hammerhead titanothere
Tulkun = large marine species native to the oceans of Pandora
Nga yawne lu oer, ma little tsamsiyu = I love you my little warrior
You think So'lek was protective before but as soon as he found out that you were pregnant with his child he became 10X more protective. He always has his hands on your waist or stomach. He also refuses that you go places alone.
One day So'lek arouse from his sleep and you weren't next to him. Panicking, he got up and grabbed his bow. He ran out only to be met with you laying in the hammock just outside of the kelku. Sighing in relief, he leaned his bow against the entrance and walked over. “Good morning, ma'tìyawn.”
You looked at him from the hammock and smiled. "Good morning."
You could see that some of the worry still remained on So'lek's face as he looked at you. He walked into the hammock and got in next to you, wrapping his arms around you holding your pregnant belly protectively. "Don't scare me like that again."
You can notice that as he is breathing in the smell of you, he seems relieved that you are still alright and not in line of potential danger.
You smiled at the way his tension left his shoulders. He sighed as you put a hand over his that rested on your rounded stomach. "I'm sorry, I just thought sunlight would be nice."
He looked up at you with a warm smile on his face as you placed your hand over his. His ears and tail flinched at the sun's bright light that broke through the leaves over head. "It is, but I do not want to lose you. Not now with the new life you are carrying within you."
You chuckled softly, honestly finding his words amusing. "Ma So'lek, I am only a few feet away from the kelku. I will be alright."
He groaned in annoyance as he was beginning to get annoyed with your playful attitude towards his overprotectiveness. "I know that you would be but I do not want to take the risk. You are not only my mate but you are the mother of my child. I will not take any chances whatsoever."
His ears continued to twitch at the sound of his own words.
You knew you couldn't change his mind on it, once his mind was set, he was determined. Like a stubborn Angstik. "I know."
He looked down at you with his pretty green eyes. Even if he is trying to be stern with you he is still having a hard time fighting back the urge to pull you close and hug you. He takes a deep breathe before he finally speaks to you in a gentle yet firm tone. "Please do not go far from the kelku from now on until you give birth."
You fingers intertwined with his. You knew you couldn't promise anything like that. You would loose your mind and become restless. Your lips touched his cheek and then kissed along his jawline. "You know I can't promise that."
He growled in annoyance at the thought of you not keeping the promise he requested from you. He also grumbled at the thought of other Na'vi men seeing you outside of his protection. He was starting to get possessive.
"Why not? Your health and my child is at risk the further you go from the kelku. What reason could you possibly have to go far away from here?"
"I have people and duties in Hometree. You know that." You told him with your gentle tone of voice.
So'lek thought for a moment about what you said. It was true that you did have responsibilities and people to look after back at Hometree but he couldn't fight this protective instinct anymore. He was already too worried and anxious about losing you and the unborn child.
"Then I will be coming with you. I don't want to lose you or our child. I will protect you and keep you close to me."
You smiled at his decree. At least you wouldn't be cooped up at your home. "Alright, I have no objections."
He let out a relieved groan and pulled you closer to him. He wrapped his arms around you tightly. This made him feel so much better now that he knows that he can still keep an eye on you while you attend to those matters at Hometree.
"It's settled then. I will make sure to keep a close eye on you and keep you safe from any danger."
A few minutes passed and you slowly stroked your big stomach that would soon hopefully birth a strong child for your mate. "How much longer do you think?"
So'lek looked down at you and took note of how big your stomach had gotten. This baby must be growing at an extraordinary rate. He has never seen a woman get pregnant this quickly before. He also could only imagine how much you were uncomfortable dealing with all this change in your body.
"We are approaching the 8th month so this baby will grow much quicker. I predict that it will be born in less than two months."
You sighed and laid your head on his chest. "Oh thank goodness." Carrying his child felt...uncomfortable on your body to say the least.
He rubbed your head while looking down at you. His eyes were filled with love and relief as he thought about how soon you will be able to give birth. The thought of the baby being born also made him have all sorts of thoughts like how much of you was in the baby and how much of him was in the baby.
"How do you feel? Is the pregnancy getting too uncomfortable for you?"
You nodded and shifted in the hammock to be more comfortable. "It feels very uncomfortable. I think the baby is going to take after you the most. I feel like a Tulkun."
So'lek felt his ego inflate at the statement that your child would be taking after him. However, he didn't like that you were experiencing major discomfort from the pregnancy. This really showed him just how much this pregnancy was taking a toll on you. He continued to rub your head as he spoke.
"I will tell you a secret ma'yawne. When I was young I was a very loud child. Perhaps our baby will be as well."
You groaned and rolled your eyes. "Just what I need, a rambunctious child. AND a baby on top of that." you teased. You only meant it half jokingly of course.
He scoffed at the comment but didn't seem to mind it at all. If anything, the thought of having an energetic child to take care of with you is something he actually looks forward to. However, the thought of having a rambunctious child is also going to make him an overprotective father.
"Well you mated with me didn't you?" So'lek chuckled in his raspy voice as he ran a four fingered hand down your arm. "So it is only fate for our child to have our personalities."
You smiled at his first statement. You did mate with him, and you'd never regret it. You nuzzled into his side, your hand caressing his chest. Your fingers gently traced patterns on his blue skin. After a minute of silence, you spoke up with a request. "Rub my stomach again? It felt good."
He didn't have to be asked twice. As soon as you asked, he pulled you closer and started to massage and caress your belly. In this position, he could really feel how big you were getting. The thought of his baby being inside you was making him feel excited yet nervous for the day that you will give birth.
He put a feather-light kiss to your temple and hummed as he traced circles on your soft skin. "I promise to be a good father to our child. Nga yawne lu oer, ma little tsamsiyu."

okay well now i’m going to be the one to ask you for the step!dad jake request bc I NEED IT, your jake fics are god tier fr
Tumblr media
it’s time that i hop onto the wagon. also i have hadf a few glasses of wine
warnings — praise, stepcest, masturbation, rough fingering/fuck, little bit of awkward step-daddy jake, in heat shit, stomach bulge, daddy kink
Tumblr media
fingers stuffed in your cunt and legs spread wide open, you hadn't expected for the flaps of your marui's pod to fling open.
"holy mother of eywa—" jake curses, shrieking at your dazed, whiney state with your really wet and bare pussy on display and he swings the flap back shut. you scream as well, embarrassment shaking through your system but it's immediately numbed by your heat fizzing up your body, stilling your mind and forcing your thoughts to only focus on your orgasm that you can't reach.
the smell of you reaches jake's nose, your sweet caramel-like aroma fogging up his senses. he understood now. why you had been stooped up in your moss of bed for the past few days, why you were so distant at dinnertime, why you had been avoiding him so much.
you were in heat.
his poor babygirl, fingering her pussy while she whined and withered in utter torture. that's why you were hissing with pain. not because you were hurt or sick, but because you were in fucking heat.
then he realizes you haven't stopped, by the continued noises of small gushing and pathetic high-pitched whimpers. "hey, sweetheart?"
you only whine in reply.
jake clears his throat, trying so hard not to focus on the way your pussy messily quelches each time your fingers thrust inside of it. he re-adjusts his loincloth, cringing at his growing bulge pressing up against it. "does it hurt? baby?"
"oh," you grit out a moan, and jake can hear the way you kick your feet against the woven ground. "mmmhm... daddy, 's hurts."
"didn't catch that. what was that?"
"it hurts," you groan. "please, daddy, come.. in here. i need- i nee... i need..."
jake gently pries open the flap of the pod once again, creeping his head past it and there you are, just like before, fucking yourself dumb with your tiny fingers. he clicks his tongue, crawling to your aid and he runs a hand up your arm, and you fucking shiver at it. your tail twirls ferally, and with the hand that isn't tied up in your cunt, you use it to slap it onto his arm and drag him towards you, piling him on top of you.
"tell me what i can do, babygirl. how long you been hurtin' for?" he whispers, and you can't even reply, only jutting your legs further apart.
jake is still unsure what to do, even though the solution is right there in front of him, right in between your glistening thighs. your smell is intoxicating him, telling him to just pick you up by your legs and fuck his cock into you so hard you see stars. "i want it," you rasp out, looking up at him with your big eyes that you know always gets him to give in and give you what you want. and right now, it's his cock.
"uh- for now, you can hop on my thigh. that sound good? yeah?" jake reasons, and you push out a reckless nod. he rolls you over with him, now laid out on his back and you practically pounce on his thigh, your gush of warm wetness immediately spreading along his skin. he bites back a groan.
you instantly start grinding your hips, letting your head fall back as your body sways, your pussy gliding along his thigh and rubbing at your puffy clit. fuck, if he wasn't hard before, he is now. hard as rock. watching his little princess ride his thigh like an animal, like a slut. it shakes him up in way more ways than one. the thick muscle of his thigh does absolute wonders for you, the amazing friction of your clit catching on the tough of his muscle making your eyes quite literally roll back.
"that's it, that's my girl. fuck yourself on me like that. using dad's big thigh for your pussy, hey? good fuckin' girl," he jumbles, sliding his hand on your hips, now helping you sharpen the desperate rocks of your body and you moan loudly.
your boobs bounce each time your hips roll, your hands trembling as they support your body on his chest and your fingernails digging into his blue skin. you're panting out heavy, quick breaths as you try and find words, "can... i..."
"hey, hey, 's 'right. use your words slowly for me." jake reassures smoothly, running a hand up your thigh and rubbing his thumb into your hot skin. "you close?"
"no," you hiss lowly through your gritted teeth. your words are filled with sobs, a sweet twist with desperation that has jake's dick twitching under his loincloth. "your cock."
"want my cock?" he asks, letting a dark and quiet chuckle slip past his lips, "don't know if you'll be able to ride that one, sweetheart."
"then fuck me with it," you manage to blow out, taking a hand and slipping it to palm his cock, tented up and ready for a pussy to plunge into. your pupils widen immensely, tail whipping up in excitement and your riding quickens, moving your cunt faster on his thigh. "please, daddy. pleasepleaseplease."
"might hurt a little. promise you won't cry?" jake coos, letting his finger trail up the smooth skin of your belly.
"promise," you rush, speeding onto your back and splaying out your body for him. funnily, your top is still strapped to your body. a bit disheveled, but it's still on. jake changes that though, as he yanks it off of your shoulders and flings it across the room. he then presses kiss to the middle of your shoulder, his hand shifting down to play with your pussy, striding a long finger up your slit and gathering some of your slick onto the pad. you whine at the much needed attention, finally getting a touch that is not your own, but your stepdad's.
he wastes no time in pushing a finger in, and then another. the girth of his digits stretch out your viscid walls, heighten your breath and make your pussy pulse in delighted appreciation.
"am i making you feel better, baby? feelin' good?" jake murmurs, and you can feel the side of cock rub up the inner of your left thigh. "think you're ready for dad's cock?"
"yes," you cry, your back arching off the ground as your mouth agapes.
"okay, okay," jake gives your cheek a messy smooch, untying his loincloth with ease and lining up the tip of his cock at your sopping opening. then he slides it in, pushing past your tight pussy and forcing the thick of his length inside of you. you let out a strangled mewl, your ankles kicking at the back of his legs and he catches the way your lips tremble. "ah-ah, baby— what'd i say about crying?"
"i'm not. i'm not crying, daddy." you beg with your voice meek, your cunt wrapping around him tight as if the body part itself did not want to let him go. milking his cock perfectly, he decides to start a slow rock of his hips, a soft pace of back and forth in your pussy. your legs are shaking as they shift to wrap around his waist, pulling him closer and encouraging him to push his cock further into your tummy.
"big ass bulge in your tummy from me. ouch, hey? that's daddy's cock in there, pushing your skin up like that." you're compelled to look at where your bodies meet, and you glare at the bump forming and deforming each time his cock glides into you, big and pointy and it only drives you faster to your release.
jake scoops an arm beneath you and around your back, using it to start bringing you down onto him, speeding up his thrusts little by little. a high moan breaks from your sore throat, hands shifting recklessly as you struggle to find a place to rest them.
"over my back, baby." he says, grabbing your arms himself and swinging them over the broad of his back. "there we are."
he leans down and seals your lips in a harsh kiss, tongue sponging out to dance along your hot one. it feels so wrong, so vivid and bad, that you can't help but let out a pathetic whine because of it because you love everything about it. jake fastens his pace, now rutting up into you hard and rough, moving your body with his as your loud noises muffle by the wrap of his aggressive tongue.
you're meeting his animalistic thrusts with your own, only they're more smaller and choppy because scrap before, you're getting fucked dumb now. your stepdad's cock driving in and out of your pussy so ruthlessly, you're going to see stars. literal stars.
"close?" jake mumbles against your mouth, his tone twinged with a sudden lick of his own desperation.
"mhm," you slur, gripping onto him as you attempt to have his cock impossibly hit deeper inside you.
“come all over daddy’s cock then,” he deepens the kiss, angling his head to the side slightly as a thick lock of his hair falls down in front of you. “wanna see my little girl come undone,” he pants.
that sets you off, has your orgasm exploding out of you and pussy gushing around jake’s dick. it shakes your entire body, smacking you with absolute bliss and all you can do is moan, feeling the tears rim your eyes. suddenly, jake is scooping out of you and groaning, dumping his load in his bunched up loincloth beside him.
you lay still beneath jake, panting like crazy and so is he, leaning an elbow on the ground as he attempts to catch his breath. eventually, he ends up collapsing to the ground, and he takes you with him. too fucked out to care, you slump your head against his chest. he tucks a lather of hair behind your ear, kissing the smooth skin between your shoulder and neck.
he doesn’t think it hurts anymore.

my man my man my man
pairing: dom!tsu'tey x bimbo!reader
genre: smut, 18+
notes: I wrote this a while ago and posted it here, but took it down again bc I HATED IT. Anyway, here is Tsu’tey having a soft spot for his dear, needy, bimbo mate.
warnings: mature and explicit themes, face sitting , marking, like some begging, overstim, v penetration (tongue), oral (f receiving), light spanking, use of good girl bc i cant get over it.
Tsu’tey was a serious man, renowned for his stoic and cold demeanor. He didn’t budge for anything, his face always wearing the look of a bored man. However, there was but one who could bring out the person in him. You. He usually despised people who could not be left unsupervised, hated the fact that they were so dependent on other na’vi, couldn’t grasp why they couldn’t fend for themselves. But you were his exception, he would do anything for you, everything.
And he did. You were the clan's beauty, but not brains. Not very good at hunting, nor healing, nor collecting. Your job consisted of walking around the forest, looking pretty. And Tsu’tey, unexpectedly, loved it. He couldn’t get enough of your cluelessness, your innocence. His want, no his need to be the one you relied on, counted on, came to when you needed something was overwhelming. It was easily noticable in the way he was so overprotective of you, so set on doing everything for you, all that you asked.
Well, tonight you had stood before him with a single request falling from your plush lips, your blue skin hot and sweaty, indicating that your heat had finally started. Yours and Tsu’tey's relationship hadn’t been going on for very long, you hadn’t even mated yet. Partly because you didn't really know what it was, but also because you hadn’t been in heat since the two of you got together. He had though, multiple times, and each time you had offered to help him so obediently, completely oblivious to how vulgar the actions the two of you indulged in were. So obviously, he was going to help when you stood before him, pretty doe eyes staring up at him, asking him for a simple favor.
Now you hovered over him, not daring to put your full weight on his awaiting mouth. This was new to you, you had never experienced anything like this before. And when Tsu’tey had asked you if you wanted to try, it had taken you a good while to understand what he meant.
Grunting into your soaked cunt, his large hand dealt a smack to your ass. He mumbled into your pussy, sending vibrations through you.
“Sit down, yawne.” His tongue ran over your clit, hands settling on the plush of your hips. He gently pressed you down. You finally sat down on him, though hesitant, but the groan emitting from his chest reassured you.
“That's a good girl.” Now he could finally do what he wanted. He slipped his tongue into your cunt, flat, big nose rubbing your puffy clit with each roll of your hips. It felt good, too good. You swore you had never felt anything better than this. Your mind was hazy, clouded with a feeling you had never experienced before.
You closed your eyes, soft lashes fluttering with each wave of pleasure your lover's tongue sent through you. Tsu’tey watched as your beautiful face contorted in pure bliss, the way your cheeks dusted with pink, the way your canines gently bit into your plump lips. You were so beautiful, so pretty, yet so oblivious.
You sucked in a breath as an unfamiliar feeling began building in your lower stomach, freaking out, you looked down to Tsu’tey. His eyes were already on you, hungrily scanning your entire body. The feeling grew and you subconsciously grinded your hips harder against your lover's eager mouth.
The wet sounds of Tsu’tey’s mouth on your sopping cunt filled your shared hut, forcing a deep purple to settle on your face. A last suck on your clit sent you over the edge, arousal gushing from your cunt. But Tsu’tey didn’t stop, his tongue continued toying with your, now sensitive, bundle of nerves, occasionally lapping up your juices.
“‘Tey plea-” A rough flick to your clit interrupted your sentence. “Please, t’hurts ‘tey” you pleaded, trying to lift yourself off him. But he was stronger than you, and he easily pushed your hips down towards him again. His tongue invaded your insides, ravaged your velvet walls as they spasmed around his wet muscle.
He moaned into you as a series of whimpers and mewls fell from your plush lips. The moan sent a wave of vibrations through your throbbing pussy, ripping another orgasm from your overstimulated body. When Tsu’tey felt your walls flutter around him, he pulled away.
“There you go, yawne, feel better now?” He asked as your body fell limp against his own. You nodded tiredly as he cradled you, praising you and complimenting your good work. Your eyes shut themselves, your tired body soon dozing off in the arms of your soon-to-be mate.

KXANI - pt.1
Tumblr media
summary: you have never fit in with the scientists, but on the night jake was lost in the forest so were you. staying with the people was your one true dream, yet when you are anything but welcome and jake get's to experience the people. you find yourself seeking comfort in tsu'tey
contents: 2.3k words, fem!avatar reader, set avatar 2009, kind of a prolouge, angst (only a lil)
authors note: i hope you guys enjoy this!! i'm really hyped to write a series especially my man tsu'tey. if this goes well definitely will be making a taglist so ask to be on it !!
all parts - next part
┌────── ⋆☆⋆ ──────┐
It was all you had dreamed of since you landed on Pandora. To be with the people, to walk beside them. Well, behind them. You weren’t exactly welcome.
You still remembered the day you were chased through the forest with Jake, jumping into the waterfall on nothing but a will to live. You remembered Neytiri jumping in front of you, saving you both, you had never been more thankful and terrified of someone in your life.
You remembered how a group of men on direhorse threw ropes around your feet then continued to lead to the Hometree. It was surreal, to be with them. To live among them. But it wasn’t how you had hoped.
You hoped to meet with them, learn there culture and be able to retell your findings when you returned to your natural form. Yet, it was nothing like that.
It was because of Jake. He was the warrior of the ‘Jarhead’ clan. God, he was so intolerable but yet he was the one person who could understand your struggles of being with the people because he was right there beside you.
But with all you efforts over the years to learn about the Na’vi, it was nothing in comparison to him being tutored by Neytiri.
On the night when the Olo’eyktan decided to keep you both, it was rather a keep the man and his dog. They thought nothing of you, just another sky scientist. So, you weren’t entitled to Neytiri’s teachings, you were entitled to stare from far away and hope that maybe you could gain a bit of knowledge from observing the pair.
That’s what you were doing right now, crouching down hiding behind a lush shrub looking at the two talk to Tsu’tey as Jake sat in a puddle of mud. Maybe you weren’t missing out on too much?
Resting on the balls of your feet and long fingers keeping the bush apart you peered onto the ongoing scene. But Tsu’tey had disappeared. He must’ve gone off in a hurry, it wasn’t like he enjoyed the company of you two aliens anyway.
“You. What is wrong with you?”
“FUCK!” You jumped in fright falling to the ground looking up at an unimpressed Tsu’tey from above you. Your heart felt like it was beating out of your chest as you tried to regain your composure, shying away from the looming figure.
“Go home. You will not embarrass yourself like that there.” You desperately wanted to go back to your human form, but it wasn’t worth it. This, what you were experiencing was ground-breaking to your studies. Plus, Grace would skin you.
Pushing yourself off the ground, brushing the dirt off your grazed knee your stared up at him. How do you even respond to him? He was terrifying. Such a powerful figure it seemed stupid to stand up to him.
You were no Jake. You wouldn’t ridicule the future leader, and you were no ‘warrior’. You were truly just a useless being to them. Nothing to learn, nothing to gain.
“Tsa’hik has medicine for that. Go” You wished your feet would move. God, this is so embarrassing! Are you really paralysed in fear? Because of Tsu’tey. It’s laughable. You tried to move, but all you could do was stare into his unimpressed eyes and wish your link failed so you could escape this hellhole. “Are you ill?”
“No.”
“Then why are you not moving?” Sometimes you were grateful you learnt Na’vi so you could have more in depth and intellectual conversations with the people. This is not what you imagined your conversations would be.
“No. I am.” Tsu’tey scoffed at you. Fuck. What if you just died. Didn’t come back. Met Eywa and apologized for the inconvenience.
“You alien, should go. Fix whatever is wrong with you.” Yet he wasn’t leaving. You pleaded that he would leave in a huff, upset at stupidity. But he still stood there!
“I am afraid of you.” It was a meek whisper. Something you should never of said as your heart beated aggressively against your ribs as if it was trying to escape its chamber.
Tsu’tey let out the heartiest chuckle as he stared down at you. Crapcrapcrapcrapcrap. Oh how you wished your feet weren’t bolted into the ground. He was genuinely amused. This was easily the funniest thing that had happened to him recently. And it was definitely going to be a story he was going to retell later on.
“So are children alien. You are like a child.”
“Thankyou.” You sneered up at him, still too embarrassed to meet his harsh gaze.
“Do you know where Tsa’hik is?” He tilted his head, his long braid falling over his shoulder as he peered down at you.
“I do not.” You tried to shovel down the shakiness in your voice, you could definitely cry right now.
“Of course, you don’t. Because you don’t belong here. I will take you to Tsa’hik. I would do it for a child.” He motioned for you to follow him as he rode off towards the base of the Hometree. “Hurry up alien child!” He laughed at his jokes as he pointed to you as he looked at other Na’vi also giggling at you as well.
What the fuck is your video log going to be today. ‘Got made fun of! Great find!’ This sucked! While Jake is learning the way of the people, you’re the people’s newest comedy act.
Dragging your feet to the Tsa’hiks room you were ushered to sit on a woven colourful mat in the middle of this section of the tree. Adorned in decorative items and many medicines and herbs you found yourself being stared down by Mo’at.
“She grazed her knee falling from a squatting height Tsa’hik.” Tsu’tey still managed to find a way to make fun of you even when he was talking to a superior.
Mo’at scoffed at you, mumbling something under her breath you did catch a few words. But they’re not necessarily for repeating. “How did you fall?” Mo’at’s intimidating voice caught you off-guard. You didn’t think she would speak to you directly.
“I- um. Tsu-. Tsu’tey startled me.” It was an insane struggled to get out, to admit you had a slightly serious graze because the man chuckling behind you scared you shitless.
“Ah.” She couldn’t find it in her to hide her disappointment apparently. Shaking her head, she applied a pungent medicine to your knee. Surprisingly, it didn’t sting the only sensation was that it was particularly cold for a paste that had been sitting in the open. “Maybe it is useful to do some stuff around the village. We do not welcome demons, especially not parasites.”
Parasite? That is what she thought of you. Oh, that’s just lovely. It felt like your stomach decided to go skydiving and take a miles high leap out of your body.
“Send her back. She is parasite, not needed.” Tsu’tey said this sentence in English. He needed you to understand it, it was his every intention to. It hurt for some reason. Well not some reason he had said something incredibly hurtful. But it was so deserved, so justifiable. Didn’t mean it wasn’t incredibly upsetting to hear.
“We cannot. Jake is an odd dreamwalker. A new demon. She must stay as he does, it is Eywa’s will.” He was silenced at the mention of Eywa. No one would question her intentions not even yourself. “She must learn. You will teach.”
“What?!” Tsu’tey voice boomed out echoing throughout the hollow tree. Is this how Jake felt that night? Because the taste of bile was growing in your throat as you stared at the huffing man. Nononono. He cannot teach, he’ll slit your throat the minute he has the chance.
“She will not be a hunter, no warrior. But she can learn the ways of the people. Teach her Tsu’tey do not question my decisions young one.”
“….yes Tsa’hik…”
Times like these you wished you could go back to your human form. So that your emotions wouldn’t be so easily understood with the swish of your tail and movement of your ears. Still sitting on the floor of the Tsa’hik’s area your ears were pressed against your head and tail swishing quite frequently.
“Go to the river to wash off the paste soon. It will stain your skin.” Mo’at told your before you were being harshly stared at by Tsu’tey. You were yet to understand the way Na’vi must telepathically communicate. It wasn’t even a millisecond after Mo’at finished that she had gave Tsu’tey the look to take you to the river.
You just wished you could understand those looks as well. “Come now. We walk.” He was so assertive it was frightening, the way he commanded you with a single order, you were so respectful of his place in the clan. It did make him like you slightly more than Jake.
“Do not kill her.” Mo’at said harshly to the tall man as you felt that bile rise to your throat again. Kill. What a word!
“I did not plan on it.” Tsu’tey smirked as he wandered off expecting you to follow but you didn’t. You just stared at Mo’at for reassurance. A simple nod to say ‘Yes! Big scary man won’t murder you!’ and she must’ve sensed your desperation.
Mo’at gave a curt nod and ushered for you to go with him with a flick of her hand. With the reassurance of the Tsa’hik you walked with Tsu’tey. Well, behind Tsu’tey to the river.
Every step was awkward. The past on your knee was starting to dry and made cracking noises every time you bent your knee. The crunch of the leaves under both of your heavy feet were the only conversation between the two of you. Eventually, after the short walk. Though it felt long due to the silence. Was finished at the sound of the flourishing waterfall meeting your ears.
It was so powerful, yet so beautiful. It reminded you of something. But nothing was coming to mind so you decided to just focus on the rushing sound as you ended your journey.
“Well done demon. You made it.” His deep voice rumbled in his chest, he thought he was hilarious.
“Thankyou.” You knew it wasn’t a compliment from him, but what else were you to say. Jake would of found a better comeback but you couldn’t.
“You are funny demon.” He said it so nonchalantly but to you it felt as if your heart bursts into a million butterflies. A compliment from a Na’vi felt so special, you felt slightly appreciated. And for it to be from Tsu’tey made it 100 times more meaningful considering how much distaste he has for you and Jake.
“Thankyou Tsu’tey.” Your genuine smile was one he had not seen yet. It was a new expression. Obviously, it looked familiar as it was on the body of a Na’vi but there was something so bright about your smile he couldn’t shake off. It was just something weird he assumed. Demons do weird things especially when they’re in bodies they’re not meant to be in.
“The paste must come off. Or else your knee will be yellow for weeks.” You nodded and hopped into the water. It was about knee height, so you had to bend to move the water over your knee completely.
“Is there a specific way to get it off. It is a foreign medicine to me.”
“It’s foreign because you don’t belong here.” Tsu’tey was just so harsh with his words, they were said with so much power, yet he felt sincere. It was odd. So odd. “Give me your leg.”
“What do you mean? HEY!” Tsu’tey had grabbed your injured leg yanking it into his arms making you twist and fumble trying not to go headfirst into the water.
His long fingers wrapped around your shin as he used his other hand to cup water into his hand and covering the yellow paste. Every time you fumbled trying to balance he let a ‘tsk’ leave his mouth. His fingertips felt as if they were being burnt into your skin as he gripped your leg tightly.
“Stop moving. I am getting the paste off.” He looked harshly into your eyes, his golden iris’ staring straight into your own.
“I’m trying!” it was an exacerbated statement. Tsu’tey saw the way your ears flicked down and you tensed all the muscles in your abdomen to try and stay still.
He felt a pound of his heart call out to him to not be so harsh. But why? You were nothing but a demon. A complacent one, but still a demon. You were better than Jake in his books. You listened stayed out of trouble, didn’t hang out with his future mate. But you were so odd. Nothing like any of the other demons. You were too complacent, too shy, too fearful. It was odd. Maybe that’s why his heart pounded.
With a final scrub the paste was gone and he let you leg down gently, an abrupt change to the quick and harsh picking up of your leg before. “Thankyou Tsu’tey.” He simply hummed in reply giving you a curt nod. This wave of confidence had overcome you. It was like you felt dizzy with courage. “Tsu’tey.”
The way you said his voice was weird to him. It was pronounced so clearly as if it was the only word you had learnt to say in his language. “Yes?”
“I know that..uh never mind.” The confidence vanished as soon as he stared into your eyes once again. His whole body facing towards you, his mind and soul focused on the words coming out of your mouth. It was too intimidating especially now as he waited for you to say more.
“Speak. What do you know?” His deep voice was memorizing, the way his chest rose proudly every word he spoke. He was so intriguing.
“I know that you don’t like me… and that I do not belong here. But I would like to help, I don’t want to be a p-parasite.” The word parasite stung on your tongue, and it was obvious how Tsu’tey winced at the word as well.
Truthfully, he regretted saying it so clearly to you. He only regretted when he saw the way your tail swished and the shine in your eyes. Maybe that’s why he felt crazy. Maybe that’s why he felt kind towards you. Maybe that’s why he agreed so fast.
“Only because you are smart, not stupid like Jakesully. I will teach you demon.” He reached out to grip onto your shoulder. It was a moment you don’t think you’d ever forget. The way his fingers held tightly onto you, his eyes looked so sincere and the usual scowl on his face had disappeared and turned in a stern look on promise.
This was the look of friendship, of teaching, you were about to learn the way of the people.

To Love Another ~ Tonowari x Reader x Ronal
Masterlist
Synopsis: Neytiri's mating with Jake had broke your heart deeply. Soon after the war had ended, you set out to the ocean. Unaware of what would come with that decision.
Warnings: cheating (obviously), description of injuries, and minor acts of violence
"Tsu'tey, have you seen Neytiri anywhere? I haven't seen her since she had took Jake to train yesterday." I quickly walk up to Tsu'tey when I see him come storming towards the entrance of Hometree.
A deep scowl was on his face, but as he got closer, his eyes soften just barely. He placed a hand on my shoulder as he guided me inside. "They are fine. But we have to gather the war parties. The sky people have attacked the Tree of Voices."
I frown at the news of what had happened to our sacred lands. I don't bother asking more questions as I walk off to help get the groups organized. Getting all of them gathered around as we listen to Eytukan speak to the clan.
I stand alongside Tsu'tey as I feel him rest his hand on my shoulder. I glance over at him in confusion as he stares at the entrance with a sad look in his eyes. "I am very sorry, my friend."
I look over at the entrance to try and understand what he was meaning. I saw Neytiri walking towards us with Jake following behind as they held each other's hand.
Jake began to speak to everyone about how we needed to handle the situation. Tuning out him and Tsu'tey arguing as I could only focus on Neytiri with a small frown at the fact she wouldn't even glance in my direction.
"You have mated with this woman!" My head turns to Tsu'tey as he exclaimed that to the whole clan.
I feel disbelief as I look back at Neytiri to wait for her to dispute the claim. For her to say she would never betray what we had with each other. That she wouldn't throw away what we had with a vrrtep she had only know for a few months.
"We are mated before Eywa."
I felt my heart shatter as she confirmed what Tsu'tey had said. But what made it all worse was the fact that Neytiri had then finally decided to look at me for the first time since she came back. I glare at her as I tighten my grip on my bow as rage begins to take over my body.
Tsu'tey lunges at Jake as they get into a small fight. Everyone watched as Jake pushed Tsu'tey off of him and threw is knife to the side to show he didn't want to cause anyone harm. He began to try to explain how we had a common enemy that the clan had to fight off together.
In the middle of his speech, Grace fell to the ground unexpectedly. Jake following soon after as Tsu'tey quickly kneeled above him. But Neytiri quickly pushed him off and leaned over Jake protectively with a snarl.
I watched her in disgust as Tsu'tey reluctantly walks back towards us. He grabs hold of my arm to drag me away from the crowd as they began to whisper. "Come. We must begin preparing our defense."
Hometree had fallen, Grace had been killed, and Jake was gathering the clans together after becoming Toruk Makto. Everyone was preparing for the final assault against the sky people.
I was walking around the camp as I checked up on anyone who seemed to need any reassurance for the upcoming fight.
"(Y/n)." My blood runs cold as I hear her voice sound from behind me. I keep walking in hopes she wouldn't try to push for a conversation. But she just grabs hold of my arm as she continued to speak, "(Y/n), I want you to understand-"
"Understand?" I turn to her with a glare as I shove her hand off of me. Not even giving her a moment as I harshly poke her chest as I take a step towards her. "Oh, I understand tiyawn. You made your choice for all the clan to hear. You let them know that I had given you multiple years of my life, time, and unwavering devotion to you for it to just be thrown away for some demon who barely knows you."
Tears prick at the corners of my eyes as I keep talking. Feeling embarrassed and frustrated at the same time as I keep looking at Neytiri. She reached a hand up to try and wipe away at the tears. "(Y/n), don't be sad. I want you to know-"
I slap her hand away with a sharp hiss. "I am not sad. I am furious. I am hurt by what you did. I learned of your disinterest in me after you mated with him. You couldn't even look me in the eyes to tell me the truth about how you really felt." I watch her back up slightly at the harshness of my tone. But I don't relent as I take a step closer each time she backs up. "Oh, but don't worry. After the fight tomorrow, everything will be perfect for you. You'll still be an amazing huntress for the clan with your special little Toruk Makto after all of this. And I'll be remembered as the person who gave you everything before you decided you got bored."
I don't give her a moment to collect herself as I turn away and keep walking through the camp. Only stopping when I find a quiet spot a little ways on the outskirts. Sitting down as I take a few deep breaths to calm my racing heart. Praying to Eywa for a, hopefully, successful outcome for the day that will follow.
"You were very harsh with Neytiri." Tsu'tey's voice sounds as he comes to sit beside me. I give a huff to acknowledge that I heard him, but don't say anything to him. He placed a hand on my shoulder as he continued, "She was trying to make amends. You could have at least heard what she wished to tell you."
"She said she wanted me to 'understand'. Her first words weren't even an 'I'm sorry'." I grit my teeth as I glanced at him. Tears forming in my eyes as I replay the memories I had with her in my head. "I gave her everything I had to offer her. I've loved her for years and she couldn't even give me the decency of letting me know she didn't feel that way anymore. She went and mated with him even though she has only known him for months. What makes him so special? What does Jake Sully have that I couldn't give her? What did I do to be treated like dirt by the woman I loved?"
I let out a weak sob as I finish talking. Wrapping my arms around myself as I stare up at the sky. Tsu'tey doesn't try to explain away why I should have listened regardless. He didn't tell me to pull myself together and keep preparing for the fight. Tsu'tey simply moved his arm around my shoulder and pulled me into a hug as he let me cry.
"I am truly sorry that this all did happened to you. You deserved a better way of learning of what happened. But you are a kind hearted person. You will find someone who will understand that."
I bite my lip while leaning into his side. Wiping my eyes as we watch the stars shine brightly with the night. "But what if I never find someone else?"
"You will. I know it in my heart, my friend."
Weeks had gone by since the assault against the sky people. We had been victorious in the fight despite the fact there were heavy losses. The one that hurt the most was Tsu'tey because I had then lost what felt like everything that was connecting me to the forest. But I found comfort in the fact I knew he was with Eywa and reunited with Sylwanin.
I was currently checking over all my supplies I had tied to my ikran's back. Double checking the medical herbs that I might need to redress the wounds I had gotten from some of the demons during the war.
My ikran made small clicking noises as she looked past the cliff edge into the endless night before us. I rubbed her neck as I let a small shushing noise as I began to do the final preparations.
"Tam tam. It will be alright, Vayvi. We will find somewhere we belong out there." I stare out to the ocean before us with a deep sigh. Patting her neck lightly as I turn back to the forest. "It will be better this way."
I take a step back while taking multiple deep breaths. Shaking slightly as I finally remove the few pieces of jewelry that I had been gifted by Neytiri. Holding them in my hands as I think of where I could set them. Though after a moment, I loosen my grip as they just fall to the dirt haphazardly.
I let out one last sigh before finally climbing onto the back of Vayvi. Using all my self restraint to not look back one last time. Knowing full well I probably wouldn't be able to go through with the plan. That was the whole reason I chose to leave in the middle of the night; so there wouldn't be anything or anyone that could potentially change my mind.
After I make tsaheylu, I give her a small pat before she leaped into the sky. The breeze cold against my cheeks as we kept going. But I let out a small laugh at the feeling of being free after everything that happened because of the sky people.
We continue flying as the sun begins to rise in the sky. I smile at the difference in the color of my morning sky compared to what it looked like from the forest. Vayvi gives a small shriek as she gets a little higher in the air as the light reflects across the water.
We keep on course until storm clouds begin to form around midday. I spot a small formation of rocks a small ways in the distance. Guiding Vayvi over to them, we land just as it begins to rain just slightly. I sigh as I jump off her back to give her a small pat on her neck.
The first thing I do is look down to my stomach to check that my wounds hadn't opened up during the ride. Satisfied that I didn't see any blood smeared against my skin. After that I begin to rummage through my bag before I pull out some dried out meat that I had made sure to stock up with before leaving. I offer a piece to Vayvi, but she jerks her head away with a disgruntled noise.
I sigh as I take a bite of the meat, chewing quickly as I grab my bow and get out a few arrows. Moving over to a spot that was slightly higher than the rest of the rocks I had landed on. Searching the surface of the water as I try to look for some movement against the falling rain.
The moment I see a fish come near the surface, I let loose an arrow just below the reflection I saw. Waiting just a small bit, I smile when the arrow floats back up with the fish. I put my bow down as I carefully step into the water. Only having to swim out a little ways to grab the fish.
Before I could get back to the rocks, I feel the water underneath my feet swirl just barely. I look down to see nothing within my vision, but the sense of being watched began to form in my stomach. Carefully making my way back to the rocks to rest next to Vayvi after retrieving my bow.
I pull off the fish from the arrow and hold it out for her to take the treat I caught for her. She ignored my offer as she looked to the water behind me with a low growl. I kneel down as naturally I can as I set the fish down. Taking a deep breath before shooting back up as I turn my body around. Ignoring the shooting pain in my stomach as I pull back an arrow to be used if needed.
My breathing calms down as I see a few Na'vi sitting on their own mounts in the water. I keep my bow taunt as I look between the men with a guarded expression.
One of them tries to get closer, but I point the arrow at him with a small hiss. He raised his hands in surrender as he stopped guiding his mount closer. "We mean you no harm. We simply wish to know why you are here."
"Resting. Now leave," I quickly demand as I send him a glare. Firmly standing my ground even as Vayvi nudged my side with a soft whine.
He looked down towards my stomach as a worried look crossed his face. "You are bleeding. We can help you back at our village. We could show you the way there if you just follow us."
I stare at him for a few more moments before lowering my bow. Reaching a hand down to feel around my bandages to feel a warm wetness that I knew wasn't from the rain. I bite back a grimace as I finally give a reluctant nod. "Fine."
The man gave his own nod before looking back at his friends. "Go ahead of us and let Ronal know that she will have someone that needs her assistance coming soon." His tone was firm as he spoke, silently demanding his words to be followed to the syllable.
The other men give him curt nods before diving under the water. He watches the water for a moment before looking towards me once again. He sends me a reassuring smile as he turns his mount to the side. I give a nod before getting onto Vayvi's back once again. Huffing as she finally decided to eat the fish after I connected for tsaheylu.
He quickly begins to glide along the water after that. I fly low to the water behind him as I keep a tight hold to the saddle. Biting back my discomfort with each breath I take as we get closer to his village. I press my hand firmly against my side in hopes to keep a form of pressure on the wounds.
It didn't take long for his village to reach my line of sight. I sighed in relief as we steady got closer to the shoreline. He was on the sand waiting for me as Vayvi finally landed.
He tried to help me down, but I bare my fangs at him before getting down on my own. He gets a strange look in his eyes as he simply watches me almost struggle to get down.
"Tonowari, what is going on? Who is this that you brought back with you?" A woman comes walking out from a nearby hut as the rain slowly begins to get worse. Though she is unfazed as she softly glared at his 'Tonowari'. "Your hunting party came back without you to tell me you were coming back with someone from the forest."
Tonowari held up his hands in defense as he took a step towards her. "Ronal, calm down. We were about to come back from the storm when we had seen..." He stop for a moment before looking back at me. Seeming to realize he hadn't bothered to ask for my name when we met.
"(Y/n)."
He gave a small nod before looking back at Ronal. "(Y/n) land on some rock. I thought it would be best for us all to come back here before the storm reached its worse. Would you have preferred we left as (Y/n) suffered in the rain bleeding out?"
"I wasn't bleeding until you showed up." I send him my own glare as he tried to twist how the events played out. He looked between the two of us as he tried to find something to say to get himself out danger between the both of us.
Ronal simply scoffed as she gestured for us to follow her back inside the hut she had come from. I walk past Tonowari as I send him another glare before following after her.
Once I walk into the home area, Ronal is sitting on the ground with supplies ready to be used. I move to sit in front of her as she immediately begins to remove the bandages that I had one. Neither of us looking up as Tonowari also came through and sat nearby to watch the process.
I grunt slightly as her fingers move across my skin to assess how bad it was. Her face scrunching up in confusion as she looks intently at my stomach. "What has even made these wounds?"
"The demons call them 'bull its'. They tear through the body in seconds." I take in a sharp breath as she slowly begins to clean the skin. Grinding my teeth together to keep from cursing her out.
"You were in the war?" I glance at Tonowari as he looked surprised from the statement. I gave him a small nod as he leans a little closer in interest. "We have heard stories from those who have heard of it. Was it true that-"
"The wounds are not the same," Ronal bluntly cuts in as she rubs a balm along my skin with a concerned look in her eyes. "You have three in the front, but only two that show on your back. What happened to the third?"
"It hit the bone and got caught inside my body. We had to use knives and fingers to dig it out for the wounds to be treated the first time." I shudder when she begins to stitch up the areas where my skin had separated again
"Your wounds barely seem as if they had begun healing. Why would you be so stupid to travel in your condition?" Ronal's words were harsh, but I felt there was an underlying bit of curiosity of her own.
"I had nothing left tying me to the forest. I had to leave before I began to loose my mind thinking of everything the demons took from our people." I take a deep breath to relax my body as I wait for her to finish. Looking at the roof to focus on something so I wouldn't disrupt her movements.
Tonowari tilted his head as he heard my answer. Staring intently as he tried to make sense of what I said. "There must have been something that would have made you stay. A friend or family member that would miss you. I'm sure that you probably had a potential mate that would have wanted you to help rebuild your home."
I clench my fists at his words. Slowly looking down at the woven mats with a sad frown. "There was a girl that I did love in the clan. We promised ourselves to each other a few years ago. A demon came to learn and she taught him how to be one of the people. Before the war happened, she had... mated with him. I found out with the rest of the clan after it had happened."
Ronal stopped wrapping the plants she was using around my stomach. Glancing at me for a moment before returning to her work. Tonowari looked down with a sympathetic look in his eyes. Speaking lowly as he looks back up at us, "I am sorry that happened to you. It's a shame you both couldn't talk things over to form an understanding."
"I shut her down the first time she tried talking to me after it happened. I left before she could try it again." I stare at him with a serious expression as I shake my head. "The trust was broken, no matter what she might have said or offered. I doubt it could have been fixed."
None of us say anything else as Ronal finishes her work. Though it doesn't take long for her to stand up with a stiff nod. "Your wounds should be fine now. But you need to properly rest so this does not happen again. You will stay here until they are fully healed and I do not want to hear any arguing or whining of the matter."
I can't get a word in before she walks out, leaving me and Tonowari alone. I look at him with a confused look as I carefully ask, "Is she always that... blunt?"
He smiled as he stood up himself. Chuckling with a small nod of his head. "It is her way of showing her concern for your well-being. We will check on you soon so we can get you anything you might require. For now rest."
He leaves soon after to leave me alone once again. I take a moment to breathe before laying down to try and get a bit of rest. Focusing on the sound of the rain outside until I finally calmed down enough to let my mind rest with my body.
A couple weeks had passed since I had arrived at the Metkayina clan. Ronal had made a point to check my bandages practically every day, no matter where I was or who was around. But everyone seemed to be used to the behavior she was giving me after I told some others how I got the wounds.
Currently, I was stood on the beaches with a few of the women of the clan. Explaining how my bow worked and the proper ways of holding it and shooting an arrow. Not even breaking my train of thought when Ronal came to my side and began to do her assessment of my condition.
The conversation carried on for awhile until someone close by began to laugh obnoxiously. Everyone turned to see one of the males that was around my age standing nearby with a few others. Though his friends didn't seem impressed with his attitude.
"Is something wrong?" I politely ask as I turn my body towards him. Tilting my head as I readjust the grip I had on my bow.
He continued smirking as he shook his head in disbelief. Gesturing to my bow as he finally voices his thought, "It just doesn't seem like you actually know how to handle your own weapon. If you did, then you wouldn't have gotten injured by a demon's weapon."
Everyone went quiet when his words finally came out in the open. Ronal looked as if she was about to yell at him, but stopped when I let out a small laugh.
I kept my gaze on the man before gesturing my head to a few of the nearby trees the island had. Giving him my sweetest smile as I look him over. "How about I prove I can handle it? Go point at a spot on one of the trees and I guarantee I can hit it. If I miss, maybe you could help me learn how to handle it better."
Everyone seemed shocked by my words, the man most of all. But he quickly recover as he began to walk over to the trees with an even bigger smirk.
"What are you doing?" Ronal quietly asked as she watched me notch my arrow. A deep scowl on her face as she grabbed my arm.
I shrugged her arm off as I focused on the tree next to the Na'vi's head. Smiling to myself as I slowly lift my bow and pull the arrow back. "Humbling him."
Just as he was turning around to face us again, I released the string. The arrow hitting the tree just a few inches away from his face. He fell to the sand in terror as he looked over at me in shock. I simply smiled with a small shrug. "I missed."
"You almost shot me! What is wrong with you!? You could have shot my face!"
"I know. I was aiming for your throat." I start laughing at the shocked look on his face. The others soon joining in until he walks away in an embarrassed huff.
Ronal grabs my arm and begin dragging me from the group with a frown. "You ripped your stitches out."
I look down at my stomach to see a small trail of blood going down my skin. But I keep smiling as I follow along after her. "It was worth it though."
She gives a small hiss as we get to the healing pod. Pushing me to sit down as she grabs the supplies to redress my wounds. The both of us sitting sitting in silence until she let's out a whispered breath. "It was a good shot."
Another week had passed since the incident. Ronal and Tonowari had both been attentive for my healing process and made sure I didn't pop the stitches again.
I was sat in my temporary home as I began checking the few supplies I had left from the start of my trip. Mentally making an inventory of all the things I would need to ask for before I finally took off.
"What are you doing in here?" I look up as Ronal and Tonowari come walking in. Feeling surprised to see them after the community's dinner had finished just a small while ago.
I quickly set aside the bag I had as I turn to give them my full attention. "I was checking my supplies to see what I would need for when I leave."
"Leave?" Tonowari looks startled at the thought as Ronal scowled in response. Tonowari took a step forward as he moved his hands while trying to find his words. "Why... why would you leave? We thought you were enjoying your time here."
"I have enjoyed it here. More than I thought when I first arrived," I carefully reassure him while looking between the two of them. "I just thought I should be well enough in a few days to continue on with my travels. To move on and find a place to belong."
"You can't be that dense." Ronal snapped as she glared down at me. Tonowari tried reaching out to her, but she pushed him away. Taking a step forward, her voice raises with each word she says, "You have stayed here for weeks. We gave you shelter and food. I personally patched your wounds each time they broke open! Now you think you can just leave us because you suddenly feel like it!"
Tonowari and I stare Ronal in shock by her uncharacteristic outburst. I slowly stand up to take a cautious step towards the both of them. "I didn't think you would care. I am not of your people."
"What does that matter? You could stay here in the clan with us." Her voice cracks slightly as she continues looking at me. Her eyes tearing up the longer we stare in each other's eyes. "You can't just leave us."
My gaze softens as I realized the depth of her words. Her outburst covering her desperate plea for me to stay. Reaching out, I brush my fingers along her arms as I glanced at Tonowari. He took his own step closer to us as he gave his own nod to encourage me.
Focusing on Ronal again, I carefully cup her cheek. Taking a breath as I rest my forehead against her's. "I can stay with you both if you truly wish for me to."
Ronal gave a small sob as she moved her arms around my body to hold me close. Her lips softly pressing against mine before she rests her head against my shoulder. I softly rub her back as she continued to cry in my arm. Looking up to see Tonowari stop behind Ronal with a twinkle in his eyes. He leaned down enough to place his own kiss to my temple before he moved his arms to wrap around the both of us. No more words needed to be shared for us to understand what we were all agreeing to try in a relationship.
I hummed softly as I sat in the marui with Ronal as we waited for Tonowari return from the hunt. My hand rubbing her slightly enlarged stomach as I nuzzle my head in her neck.
"You are doing it again," Ronal softly chides as she continues working on the herbal mixture she needed. Though she didn't do anything to push my hand away.
I smile as I place a gently kiss to her neck. Inhaling her sweet scent while moving my hand to the bottom of her stomach. "I can't help it. You look so beautiful with our child inside you. Just as you did with Ao'nung and Tsireya. Absolutely beautiful, yawne."
"You and Tonowari have such a strange obsession over my pregnancies. I act no differently than I normally do."
"Oh, really?" I lean my head away to be able to get a look at her face. Keeping my hold on her with a knowing smirk. "If I remember correctly, you were very emotional during your first pregnancy. So much so, that you cried in my arms because you were scared of me leaving. And that was before we all knew that you were pregnant."
"Your memories are lying to you. You hit your head so often, I'm surprised you remember anything."
I smile at her bluntness, but decide not to say anything else. Instead, leaning back towards her as I begin to hum once again. But the sound of the horns going off causes both of us to stop all actions.
We wait for a small time before Ronal stands up to head outside. I quickly get up and follow behind her to see what had come to our home. The moment we get outside and get a look, my heart begins to pound.
Tonowari was stood in the center of the group as he conversed with a group of Na'vi from the forest. Even from a distance, I could tell that it was Jake and Neytiri along with what I could assume to be their own family. I take a deep breath before moving to join Tonowari with Ronal.
The moment we joined in at the center, I could see the recognition in both of their eyes. I gave them a small nod in acknowledgement before focusing on my mates. Though not quite catching all the words as all my mental strength went to not breaking down in front of everyone.
My attention perked up when I had heard Ronal say that we couldn't take them in. I placed my hand on her arm as I looked at her in confusion. She shook her head with a frown as she looked back at the group. I looked to Tonowari with pleading eyes to see he had a similar reaction. We both looked at Ronal until she met our gazes. Her determination faltered as she looked between the two of us before finally giving a small nod.
As Tonowari announced our choice to the group, I nuzzle my nose in her cheek with a weak sigh. Mumbling a small 'thank you' to her before pulling away. Smiling as Tonowari walks over to us before gesturing in the direction of our pod.
"(Y/n)." I look over to see Neytiri staring at me with furrowed brows.
I nod my head before lightly pushing my mates away with a forced grin. "I will catch up. Go and rest now. The both of you, Ronal." I wait until they both go away before turning back to face Neytiri with a serious expression. "It's good to see you again."
Her ears twitch slightly as she gives a small nod. A faint smile crossing her face in return. "I'm glad you are alright. You just left one day we had no idea if you were alive."
"I know," I sheepishly admit with a frown. Looking away for a moment as the memories come playing back in my mind. "I had to get away from there. I couldn't be in the forest anymore without thinking of the war. But..." The words catch in my throat for a moment. Taking a deep breath, I look back at her with a sorrowful look. "I should have still said goodbye. No matter how I felt about everything back then."
Neytiri seemed surprised by my admission, but she gives a hesitant nod. "I understand. And I should have said this long before you left, but... I am sorry for what happened."
My eyes begin to burn as I blink away the tears before they form. Giving a small nod while glancing at her children. "They will like it here. The clan will treat them as if they were born on these shores."
Neytiri smiles as she looked at them as well. A silent agreement falling between us over what had happened long ago as I finally walk away to go and rest with my family.
I let out a sigh as I walk through the doorway. Smiling as I see Tonowari and Ronal laying down with a small bit of space between them. Immediately walking over to rest myself next to Tonowari so Ronal had the space she wanted.
"How do you always know when she wants to have her own space?" Tonowari asked as he held me towards his side. Sending Ronal a glance before pressing a small kiss to her head. The action earning him a small hiss.
I chuckle as I move my arms to wrap around his neck. Resting my head on his shoulder as I look over at her. "It always depends. But whenever she's pregnant and wants to be held, she has an arm around one of our waists. I remember figuring out that one specifically right before Tsireya was born."
Ronal sends us a small glare before turning onto her side facing us. Her face relaxing when she closes her eyes. Even though she didn't want to be held, Ronal moved her leg to rest over Tonowari's.
I grin as I press my fingers to my lips before placing them on Ronal's arm. "See? She doesn't want us to leave her alone. She just wants affection on her own terms." Looking up at Tonowari, I give him a kiss on his lips before resting my head on his shoulder.
"Be quiet and rest already." I laugh softly at her annoyed tone, but close my eyes as well. Letting my body slowly relax in the presence of both of my mates.

Tumblr media
Your first memory is of your mother. Your mother who held you in your arms as her back was abused by the claws of a palulukan. Covering you with her chest and the ground. Her eyes squeezed together from the pain. Up until the moment the vicious thanator left. Your mother who still didn’t let you go as she rest against a tree, singing her songcord until the moment she left to the ancestors.
.˚ * ꒰ঌ✦໒꒱ * ˚.
You jumped down off your Ikran, Sya, named after how you noticed her wings resembled those of a lortsya, running your hand down her head, “tam tam…” [there, there]
You smiled at her before leaving her be with the other idle ikran. Humming, you looked down and opened your woven basket slung around your shoulders to see the red medicinal plant the Tsahik had requested you’d look for. Finding them intact you start to walk away to the Tsahik’s kelku.
You walk in, bringing your hand to your forehead and bringing it down, “I see you Tsahik…” She’s treating a wounded na’vi and quickly says your name. You set down your basket next to her. “I brought the ar’lek seeds,” You smile and gently take the ointment in her hand to take her place, “along with some yalna bark and sari seeds.”
“Good, thank you, ‘evi.” She rushes to another na’vi waiting to be treated, “Kiri would enjoy the sari seeds.” Nodding you spread the ointment on the female na’vi’s back.
“Would you like me to prepare the yalna bark after?” As you said that, Kiri alongside her brothers and sister walk in. Your gaze lingers on the elder of the four before quickly looking down at the Na’vi’s back, ears tilted slightly down. “Where else are you wounded…” You ask the Na’vi quietly. She pointed to her shin, so you bent in front of her to put ointment there also. The na’vi seemed younger than you, thirteen maybe, you smiled and looked up at her, “okay… parultsyìp, you could go back to your sa’nok.” She smiled and hops up, quickly leaving afterwards.
Standing up you pick up your basket and grab the yalna bark, Kiri says your name, “is that yalna bark?” Kiri walks towards you and rests a hand on your shoulder, “see grandmother, even your greatest healer thinks yalna bark is better.” You chuckle and begin preparing the yalna bark ointment.
“It stings less…” You say softly and smile. You and Kiri grew close together from working with the Tsahik and the other healers. Kiri is what you would say warm grass feels, comforting. When they found you as a child the Tsahik took responsibility on you, with Kiri being close to her grandmother, naturally you would become friends, sisters even.
Not remembering that day well enough Mo’at reminds you how Ewya brought you to her, to the Omatikaya, seeing a woodspite hover over you. You who just held your mother’s songcord close to your chest.
“I am Tsahik, once someone else takes my place it’ll be decided.” Mo’at says while treating the other Na’vi.
Lo’ak chuckles and shakes his head, “Unless Neteyam here finds a mate, it’s going to be a long time Grandma, stay comfortable.” Lo’ak says before being harshly elbowed by his brother. “What! The mighty warrior is the one becoming Olo’eyktan.” Your ears twitch up and you listen to their conversation.
“Stop it– brother.” Neteyam spits out and glances at you, still focusing on making the ointment, not noticing his glance. Tuk sits behind Neteyam and rebraids some of the strands that got unraveled.
“Mama said you don’t want to look for a mate because of–” Tuk was quickly caught off by Neteyam putting a hand over her mouth. You look at the pair slyly and tilt your head. “What?” Tuk says questionably not understanding why her brother stopped her.
For the little memories you have from your childhood, you do remember meeting Neteyam and the rest. You hid behind Mo’at, clutching your mother’s songcord. Despite there being three kids, you thought Neteyam stood out from the rest. Even from the age of five he seemed strong, someone that was destined to become a warrior.
You stood from your spot and placed the yalna ointment away. “Kiri!” Spider came in and smiled, “Let’s go?” Looking at her you grab her hand gently.
“I thought we were going to loom bracelets…” Kiri looked at you apologetically and held your hand.
“I know, I know,” She looked down and then at Neteyam, “I forgot I promised Spider to go exploring with him and Lo’ak.” Nodding you let go of  her hand. “See you later.” She smiled sweetly and left with the two boys behind her trail.
Glancing at Neteyam quickly, the balls of your feet shifted, nervous on what to do next. “‘Ite,” You look at Mo’at, “we might need… some octoshroom root.” Your head shifts to the shelves looking for the root but are unable to find some.
Sighing, you pick up your basket and sling it around your shoulder, “Seems we’re out, I’ll go get some Tsahik.”
About to leave you were stopped by Neteyam, “I’ll go with you, I have no other duties today.” Your eyebrows rose, you hugged your waist, you were hesitant to answer.
“Yes, yes now go.” Mo’at waved you guys off. You reluctantly walked beside Neteyam heading to your ikrans. Your gaze kept on the ground while Neteyam looked at you slyly.
Thinking for a moment Neteyam scratches his head, “Kiri has said you’ve grown to be a great healer.” You both reach your ikrans.
“Sya…” You pet your sister and smile, “You have grown to be a great warrior…” Neteyam chuckles and nods, petting his own ikran.
“Grandmother seems to adore you, everyones does.” You look at him and blush slightly, your tail swishes behind you. You jump onto Sya, grabbing your kuru, you make tsaheylu with her. “Ready?’ Neteyam smiles on his ikran.
Setting off, you Neteyam began to descend off High Camp. Your braids move from the wind, your eyes fall on the other ikran flying in groups. Neteyam ululates and you chuckle, your ikrans fly beside each other and go in a twirl motion. Your smile is wide and Neteyam's gaze stays on you.
Getting absorbed in the moment you whoop along with him. Your ikrans roar seemingly with you, happy with the moment as well. You and Neteyam fly down on a hallelujah mountain, sitting on your ikrans and watching the sky.
Sighing, you look at Neteyam “We should go find the octoshroom…” Neteyam nods and you both bring your ikrans down near an opening of the forest. Neteyam shortly settles beside you. You jump off Sya and give her a small snack. “Sìltsan, Sya, tam tam.” You talk to her affectionately. [Well done][calm]
All the while Neteyam watches you curiously. “What's the octoshroom for?” You give Sya a quick command to be alert for your call.
Neteyam follows you into the dimming forest, your sanhì glowing, “anti-venom… helps the stings of a slinger and other animals,” finding the tall fungi you crouch down to extract the root, “when grinded to a tea it remedies the affects.” Neteyam hums and crouches beside you.
He grabs his knife, “what am I looking for.”
You glance at him, “We need to dig around the base first,” you both start digging, “then this root… here” point at the dark colored root, “and just carefully extract the root with your knife.” You set your basket in between the two of you. You smile slightly seeing how Neteyam is focused on getting the root.
You think about to the conversion Neteyam had with his siblings earlier, “how come you haven’t looked for a mate?” You grab some root and set it inside the basket, “your iknimaya and uniltaron went well did it not?” After na’vi go through their rites of passage it’s common for them to look for a mate aftwards.
Neteyam looks at you, “what about you? You also haven’t looked for a mate.” You chuckle nervously, setting some root in the basket.
“Other na’vi think I’m strange,” you think to your unknown origins, “Not knowing where I come sets me behind some bit. But you– you are the next Olo’eyktan, eldest son of the mighty Toruk Makto, you should hear the girls in mine and Kiri’s weaving class. They’re crazy for you.” You shake your head, “Some of them even make courting gifts.” You chuckle thinking of the girls making the gifts.
Neteyam sheepishly smiles, “I bet you’ve been given some courting gifts.” He says with his heart slightly beating faster.
Humming you shook your head, “Once, Rey’aw gave a necklace, I think Rolä courted him at the same time though.”
Neteyam blinks and sets the last portion of root in the basket, “Were you going to accept?” He asked nervously.
“No, I gave him the necklace back after finding out, they’re happily mated as you know,” you chuckle and think to their little boy, “Their boy is almost a year old now.” Neteyam sighs in relief knowing that you weren’t going to accept Rey’aw’s courting.
You look at the basket and shake it to see how much root is in, content with the amount you stand up, tucking a braid behind your ear. “So? The mighty warrior hasn’t gotten any courting gifts?”
Neteyam stands up and bird calls for his ikran, you do the same, “No–no yeah I have,” biting your lip slightly at his answer you feel your chest tighten. Your eyebrows furrow when you don’t see Sya. “Where's your ikran?”
You stand up straighter and look around, doing your bird call again you still don’t hear the familiar roar of your ikran. “Sya!” You look at Neteyam and he quickly hops on his ikran.
“Come on…” He holds his hand out and you take it and sit behind him. “She must be back where we left them, sleeping.” You squint your eyes down on the ground seeing no sign your ikran, “She’s okay, she’s okay.” Neteyam tried to reassure you.
Memories of your mother surfacing. Your eyes shifted to every bark on trees, every blade of grass. Your ears twitched, listening to the chirps of the birds.
You tilt your head, eyes squinting some more when you see the recognizable blue wings, you tap Neteyam’s shoulder and point down, “Neteyam!”
You practically jump off his ikran before he even landed, “Sya!” You rush towards your ikran, immediately noticing the gashes on her body. “Sya…” You say soft and cradle her head. “What…” Tears welled in your eyes, Sya tried to lift her head as best she can onto your lap. “What happened?” You look into her eyes and rest your forehead onto her body.
Neteyam watches, looking at his own ikran before looking around, his bow in hand.
Your thoughts went back to your first memory, to the unforgettable gashes of a palulukan. Working as a healer you’ve seen these wounds dozens of times after your mother. You felt your throat close up, a sob seeping through, “Neteyam…” He hesitates and sits next to you, “Wha– I don’t understand.” Your shoulders shake, “why didn’t she fly away…” Seeing the tears in your eyes, Neteyam wraps an arm around your shoulders. His eyes shift to Sya’s wings, taking a deep breath when he notices the state of her wings.
He says your name softly, his ears are pointed down, “They– they might come back,” you shake your head, “come on…”
“No,” you sob out and shake your head. Sya looks up at you weakly, eyes reflecting your own, you release a heavy breath and rest your head against her again. Closing your eyes you think back to your mother again. She sang beautifully to lure you to sleep. You start to hum and sing your mother’s songcord to Sya. Neteyam’s ear perk from earring the unfamiliar song. He stares at your face, his hand resting on your back. Trying to comfort you as best as he can.
The next few moments were fuzzy. You finished singing to Sya as she joined the ancestors, Neteyam gently grabs a claw and scale of her wings, putting it in your basket. All remember grabbing a stone that resembles her wings and Neteyam leading you to his ikran to fly back to High Camp.
Neteyam was the one to bring his grandmother the octoshroom root, telling her what happened. Kiri and Lo’ak were back from their adventure, hearing the news also.
Walking back to your kelku seemed like a chore. Your body felt heavy as you walked, quiet sobs leaving when he reached your room, collapsing onto your hammock.
Kiri rushed to your home with Neteyam and Lo’ak. You were still on your hammock, just looking at the wall not making a noise. Kiri says your name softly, “Sister…” She sits beside and rests her hand on her shoulder, “We heard what happened.” You blink back the tears from her words. “I’m sure Sya is with Eywa now, with your mother...”
Getting close to the Sully kids of course came to telling them what happened to your mother. Knowing how close Kiri is to Eywa and her biological mother Grace, you listen to her words closely, trusting on what she says. “I bet she’s also with my mother’s ikran Seze,” Lo’ak add in.
You sit up and look up weakly, your eyes swollen from crying. Your lip shakes and you hug Kiri, feeling the sobs come back, Kiri rubs your back affectionately. “I’m so sorry sister.” Her eyebrows furrow and rock you both in comfort.
Sniffing, you pull away and grab your Songcord, it contains a rock you picked up when your mother died, when you first met the Omatikaya people, and taming Sya, all the moments in your life that made you who you are. Sighing you grab the stone you grabbed earlier, your hand shook so Kiri gently took it to help you tie it to your songcord. Neteyam and Lo’ak sat next together, watching you and Kiri quietly.
Once the rock was tied to your songcord you rub over the stones. “Thank you guys…” Kiri smiles and holds your hand. You look at Neteyam and look back down, “you don’t have to stay, I’ll be fine.”
Lo’ak shakes his head, “We could stay sis,” You smile at him.
“I’m alright,” Kiri goes to say something but you beat her to it, “really.” You try to reassure them. They hesitate but leave together. Netetam pauses and looks back at you, “Thank you Neteyam.” He nods and catches up with his siblings.
You’re not sure how long had passed, you were focused on making a necklace out of Sya’s claw and scale, looming it to have her blue colors. You hear a quick whistle and look up to find Neteyam, “hi,” you look back down to the necklace, “come in.”
He sits by you, placing down a bowl of sari seeds, “Kiri toasted some earlier.” He looked at the necklace and ran a finger down the intricate design you were weaving. “Looks good,” he smiles, “the mighty healer is also a mighty weaver.”
You chuckle and shake your head, “that’s just– stupid,” you jokingly say. “You know my mother had a beautiful voice.” You smile, “She could sing anything and it’ll manage to make me sleep. Even…” You take a deep breath, “Even as she was passing she sang to me.”
Neteyam looks at you and grabs your hand, saying your name, “Strong heart.” Rubbing his thumb over your hand, “in the tales mother tells us when she met my father, she saw he had a strong heart.” He looks in your eyes, his tail swishing. “When the sky people came back, dad said she had a strong heart.” He repeats your name softly, “You have a strong heart.” Your eyebrows furrow, tearing welling in your eyes, “From the first time I saw you, I saw your strong heart.” A tear fell and you looked down.
Taking a deep breath Neteyam opens his pouch, pulling out a bracelet, “Kiri helped me make this…” He says your name, you look at him and tilt your head, “I–I asked grandmother if I could court you.” Your heart quickened, “I know she’s not your mother but– she took responsibility and felt it was best to ask still.” You gulp and blink at Neteyam, “would you accept my gift, paskalin?”
Some stray tears fell down your cheeks, smiling you nod your head, “Yes,” you laugh sheepishly, “yes, Neteyam, I will accept your gift.” Neteyam smiles widely, he grabs your wrist and ties the bracelet around your wrist. You chuckle thinking about the event of today, “Courting me the day Sya died… Classic Neteyam.” You both laugh and rest your foreheads against each other.

Hearts in Training
Pairing: Neteyam Sully x Human Reader
Wordcount: 2.998
Genre: slight angst(?), fluff
A/N: I'm just getting back into writing after a long time. Obsessed with Avatar atm, and seeing these Challenges going around sparked some inspiration, so here it is. This will be my first post on this blog and I hope it's readable and enjoyable for you guys. There will be use of (Y/N). Feel free to let me know what you think or if I'm missing something.
This is for Day 1 of the #Crybabies14DOL2024.
Tumblr media
You were hanging out with Lo'ak on the beach near Awa'atlu village. You were lying on your back, having eyes closed and enjoying the happy squeaking sounds the Ilus made, the sound of the sea, the soft noises the waves made, crashing against high, towering cliffs. In the distance, you could hear other people talk and laugh. A smile spread on your lips.
"What you smiling at?", Lo'ak asked, curiosity swinging in the undertone. "Thinking about him?" You could hear the tease in his voice, which cracked slightly. "Huh?" was all you managed to say. You opened your eyes to your right, where your best friend sat, leaning backward and holding himself up on his elbow. "Oh, you heard me!" A smirk plastered on his face. A feeling of being caught in something [unholy, forbidden] rushed through your body. "What do you mean?" trying to play the innocent card, you sat up straight, trying to look everywhere else but at that tall blue Na'vi.
„(Y/N), really? Come on, It's obvious", he stated and sat up straight too. "The crush you have on my big brother." In protest, you gasped and quickly turned to him to talk back, but Lo'ak threw his hands up. "No allegation. Just an observation." Dang it, you thought. Was it really that obvious? You were indeed crushing on your best friend's brother, Neteyam. This fact alone already sucked, but what made it even worse was the fact that he was trying to teach you how to use a bow and some other basic hunting skills. The few lessons you already had, ever since the Sullys had moved to the East Coast, taking you with them, were tiring. Not alone the fact that aiming simply seemed like a task your brain couldn't really figure out how it was done, but also how nervous you were near him, unable to think straight or continue doing whatever task you happened to work on right before he was there.
Lost in thoughts, you stared at the ground and sighed, pulling your legs to the chest, wrapping your arms around them, and resting your chin on the knee. Finally, looking up at Lo'ak. Two of his braids were falling over his face, caused by tilting his head to the site. "Is it really that bad?" your voice was no more than a slight whisper. There was still a tiny spark of hope inside you that this wasn't the case, but the look in his big yellow eyes said enough, and he smiled apologetically. "Do you think he knows?" with a shaky voice, you asked the question that lingered on the top of your tongue. Your best friend thought about it for a second. Then he frowned and then slowly shook his head. "Nah, I don't think so. He might be the older one, but not necessarily the smarter", he joked and showed his white teeth with a big grin.
Then, from one second to the next, Lo'ak's smile vanished from his face, his ears dropping a bit, his tail swayed a little less relaxed from side to side, and he looked pretty serious. "Speaking of…" Right when the boy next to you wanted to say something, you could already hear someone call for you, and that someone put a harsh tone on. "F-" You caught yourself before you started swearing. Having a relaxing time with your bestie made you forget… "Too late to run?" you breathed and didn't dare to move a single muscle as if you were the prey, trying to hide from the predator, hoping not moving made you magically invisible. "Yeah"
"(Y/N), I was looking for you everywhere!" Neteyam's husky voice was loud and clear when he came to a halt before you, blocking the sun from your sight. He slightly leaned over you and squinted his eyes in disappointment while stemming his hands on his hips.
"You're late…again", he growled, and it was easy to tell how annoyed he was. His ears were pinned against his head, and the way his tail moved furiously around. "I'm so sorry, Neteyam." Jumping to your feet, apologizing. The older one shook, barely noticeable his head and made a clicking sound with his tongue. If you had these cat-like ears and a tail, both would be as close to your body as they could be to express how bad you felt.
"I thought you wanted to learn to defend yourself and use a bow. Listen, if you don't want to learn…" - "It's my fault bro", interrupted the younger one his brother, standing up. Compared to you, a human, both were giants, yet in comparison to each other, Lo'ak was half a head smaller than Neteyam. "I was distracting her. Wanted to have a swim and needed some advice. Pressing his lips to a thin line, the older yellow eyes returned to his younger brother. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes for a second before he turned his attention back to you, asking if you guys wanted to start training now, to which you nodded yes. Neteyam seemed to relax a bit before he nodded toward the nearby forest. "Let's go then," he said, and he started walking. You were quick to follow him, leaving Lo'ak behind. __________________________________________________
"Okay, okay. Try again! The last one wasn't that bad. You improved definitely", sending you an encouraging smile while not completely sounding sure of it. You appreciated the comforting words regarding your almost nonexistent skill of shooting an arrow. Neteyam had marked a few trees as targets with differences in height & distance. Most of the time, you missed a fairly wide range around the targets that are on focus.
He nods his head towards the target, meaning for you to shoot. You took a deep breath in, holding the bow into place. Pulling the string back, the back of your hand touching your cheek. Holding the arrow between your pointer finger and middle finger. You could feel his presence on your back and how he softly let his fingers glide over the skin of your forearm, holding the arrow in place and correcting your position. Feeling a little overwhelmed by the touch of his four-fingered hands, trying to ignore the tingling sensation that spread through your body, you closed your eyes, letting out a shaky breath. "Good, just like that," he whispered in your ear. You could feel his breath on your neck and you slightly shuttered. Without realizing it, when turning your head to look at him barely, you let go of the string, and the arrow landed somewhere between two bushes.
With every missed shot, your frustration grew, and you complained about how this didn't make sense, and it was a waste of time, which wasn't helpful with the tension between the two of you. "Maybe if you would take this whole thing more seriously, practice more, and actually show up on time," he snapped back and crossed his arms over his chest while leaning against a tree behind you. Holding your stance, you turned your head back to him, eyebrows almost touching. "I am trying! As if I don't have any other things to do." Trying to defend yourself, your voice got a bit louder. Neteyam huffed, ears pointed back. "Right. Hanging out with Lo'ak must be so tiring for you that you can't take the time for practice. Poor (Y/N)", his voice oozed in sarcasm. You stared at each other with dislike, noticing how his tail infinitely wagging in every direction possible.
Your grip on the bow tightened while your stomach felt like it got eaten by a wormhole. Him pulling the Lo'ak card took you by surprise. Yes, Lo was your best friend. Yes, you did spend time with him, but you hadn't had that in a while, before that. Since Kiri had that seizure while connecting to the spirit tree in the Cove of the Ancestors, you had helped Max & Norm research the cause. Neteyam actually knew that, but apparently, he didn't care. Just as you opened your mouth to point that out, he spoke and his voice was cold and distant. "I have better things to do than trying to teach your incompetent ass something you don't seem to care about. What a waste of time." The last part was almost a whisper, as if he didn't mean to say it out loud. Shocked, your eyes open wide. Now that was really mean. The anger that had built up was instantly replaced by a stinging pain in your chest. It hit so hard that your eyes burned, and your vision blurred.
For a second, you couldn't move. Your body felt like it weighed tons, pulling towards the ground and keeping you in place. Not wanting him to see you cry and how much he just had hurt you, you let your head drop and looked somewhere else. Not really seeing much more than colored blobs. Neteyam had noticed. Yet, instead of calming down, he got more angry. Most of this was directed towards himself but he let it out on you. Partly because you were the reason why he was so frustrated. He liked you. A human, but that wasn't the problem. Even though his mother wouldn't enjoy that part. He was the oldest. He was next in line to become Olo'eyktan. He had to be this perfect son and warrior. He was expected to watch his little bro constantly and is responsible for his actions. They were like yin and yang, the complete opposite of the other. He didn't understand how and why you would enjoy time with Lo'ak more than with him. At least he tried to help you improve and learn how to survive and fight. What did Lo'ak teach you? Or was exactly that the problem?
Neteyam couldn't believe what happened and turned around and lowered his head, covering his face with one hand and rubbing his eyelids while letting out a deep breath. "What the heck, bro!?" Both of you flinched at the unexpected voice and turned in that direction. There he was; Lo'ak. He quickly glanced at you before staring furiously at his older brother. Just for a second, you wondered how much Lo'ak happened to hear, then without intention, you dropped the bow, and your short legs ran as fast as they could, away from that situation, away from him. _________________________________________________________
Not sure how long you ran, you just knew that with every second you got faster and faster, out the woods and along the beach, past the village marui. And it felt good. You didn't want to stop. The only thing that mattered now was putting one foot in front of the other. Something you could do. Moving set your mind on a break.
It only lasted so long, till you got tired & your moves got a little sloppy, resulting in stumbling over your feet and falling face-front in the sand. Heavy breathing you turned onto your back. Luckily, you had a mask for breathing, so you had no trouble with sand ending up in your nose, mouth, or eyes. The glass fogged up while your breath slowly calmed down. For a while, you just stared at the already-setting sky. Calming down, your mind started playing again and went through every word Neteyam said, the way he acted. Like you were such a pain in the ass. It was his idea to teach you. Stuff like that wasn't your thing, but it meant spending time with him, and that was something you were really interested in. If you had known that it was so hard for you to understand the basics or execute the right pose, it would be so embarrassing and humiliating for you. Not being able to concentrate cause all you could focus on was how he moved. The look in his eyes. The way he smiled, moved, talked.
The lump in your throat prevented you from taking a breath, causing you to twitch till you finally let out a loud sob, which turned into a small scream. The force it took to let that out had massive pressure on your head and eyes. Feeling like they were about to explode. __________________________________________________________
In the meantime, you weren't aware that Neteyam finally came back down to Pandora & his senses. While he usually was the taller, older one lecturing his younger brother, it was different; Neteyam shrunk a couple of inches, tail tucked between his legs, ears flat against his head. Guilt was written on his face. Lo'ak shook his head in disappointment & stood tall, head high, in front of his brother. "Why you acting like such a skxawng? What's wrong with you?"
Neteyam looked like he got a few years older in a matter of a few minutes. He let himself slide down on a tree nearby and closed his eyes. Lo'ak waited for his brother to answer his question, but he didn't plan to answer anytime soon, so he sat beside him. He wouldn't leave before he finally talked to him about it. For a few minutes, they just sat there in silence. "So?" The older one took a deep breath and opened his mouth. __________________________________________________________
The next few days, Neteyam tried to find a moment to talk to you, but you managed to stay out of his way. Every time he was close or entered the room you happened to be in, you quickly left. The talk with Lo'ak was helpful, and now he wishes to apologize. His younger brother's words lingered in his mind. "Go apologize. You seriously have to talk to her. You messed up big times."
With time passing, the motivation and optimistic view that you would forgive him and the hope that it wasn't that bad faded. He had just returned from training with his dad and was now strolling on the beach, wishing for some quiet time to think and relax. His gaze was directed towards the ocean. He missed his home, the forest, the Omaticaya clan but he had to admit that it wasn't that bad here. His feet carried him to the cave where you, the sully, and Metkayina kids used to hang out a while ago when everything and everyone were still on somewhat good terms.
Lost in thoughts he didn't notice that someone was already hanging out there. Only when he was standing right in front of that person, you. It took him a minute to realize you were actually sitting there, and he wasn't imagining that cause if that was the case, you would look more happy. Not having such puffy, red eyes. Your face was swollen from dehydration, which was a result of your constant and unstoppable crying sessions. You still felt miserable ever since the argument.
On the other hand, you had noticed Neteyam right away when he entered the cave. Yet you didn't show any signs of trying to leave as quickly as before, yet you turned away from facing Neteyam. Without saying a word he sat down next to you. No one said anything for a while until a breathy "I'm so sorry" left his lips. Waiting for him to continue, you sat silently, taking a deep breath. "I was frustrated and let it out on you. I'm sorry. What I said was wrong. It's just that.. that I'm.." He struggled with finding the right words. He closed his eyes briefly, fiddling with his fingers before looking at you. "I fell in love with you and got jealous about being so good friends with Lo'ak and spending so much time with him."
Surprised, your lips parted a bit, and you quickly shot a quick gaze at him. Was he serious? Your heartbeat made a jump. You stared at him. He stared back at you. "Really?" questioning, you raised your eyebrows. He gulped and nodded slightly. Feeling ashamed of opening up and telling you how he truly felt, he quickly guided his eyes to the horizon where it was about to dawn. "I thought when I help you train, we could spend time together and show you how I feel about you. But you seemed to care less and less about it."
"Well… I was excited at first, but then you got meaner and stressed about taking the time for that when I clearly don't have the skill to perform", you answered honestly. "Being around you makes me nervous and it seems like I'm not good and…" Your voice was shaky. "You know, we used to be friends too, but then you had so much training and were focused on that. So I agreed to the training with you, to spend more time with you."
Trying to make eye contact, you leaned forward to gather his attention. He finally looked back at you. "I know… I'm sorry." apologizing again, he picked his skin on his finger. Seeing how nervous he was right now, you slowly put your hands on his to stop him from doing that. A soft smile appeared on your lips, which Neteyam returned. "I didn't mean to neglect our friendship." His voice sounded husky. The stare between your eyes got deeper and longer, and without you guys noticing, your faces got closer. "I'm sorry," he whispered slowly while intertwining your fingers with his. His tail softly tapping your leg. Your cheeks turn into a soft pink. "Stop apologizing. I got it", you said in a jokingly serious tone.
"How about we do something tomorrow.. something fun" he burst out. "As friends," he added and slightly squeezed your hand. The soft smile on your lips grew, and you nodded. "That sounds good," you replied back. "What do you have in mind?" Now it was his smile that grew a bit devilish. "You'll see," was all he replied, his tail wagging more in excitement. There wasn't much space between your faces by now; only your mask kept some space between your faces.

Note
For a James Wilson x reader fic you should do it where the reader works in peds and is really bubbly and sunshine-y and she likes to use glitter and play games with the kids especially the ones with cancer who would be under Wilson’s care!
Glitter Crowns
Pairing: James Wilson x Female Reader
Universe: House Md, part of the Doctor Sunny AU
Summary: you love kids, James loves watching you interact with them
Warnings: sick kiddos, established relationship (marriage), major fluff 🕺🏾
Note: omg, this one is short.
Tumblr media
You stood outside of the little girls room with James. His arms were folded as he watched her play with a stuffed animal. He sighed, “Her name is Lizzie…she’s in while we test on her. Problem is, she’s super nervous.”
Humming, you reached up and grabbed the top of his arm, squeezing it to grab his attention, “I don’t have patients for a little bit, let me see if I can distract her.”
“You sure?”
You grinned, “Of course, James.”
You pecked a quick kiss on his cheek, and then dashed out of the hallway to go to your office. James watched you go, and then walked into Lizzie’s room to see her.
James’s fondness of you was simply because of the ray of sunshine you typically were. You had been part of Princeton-Plainsboro for a few years, and during that time James watched you bond with the patients you were paired with. And when you became the Head of Pediatrics, that gave you even more time with patients since you could free your time.
Most parents and other doctors were fond of you as well, always smiling and wearing goofy earrings or shirts to help distract kids while you worked with them. Your office was like a sanctuary for young patients. Filled with toys, puzzles, and crafting things.
Crafting things that you were currently bringing back into Lizzie’s room, a proud smile on your face as you introduced yourself to Lizzie, and then her parents.
“I thought you were Dr. Wilson,” Lizzie’s father pointed toward James, who stared at him in disbelief for a few seconds before you nudged him in his side.
“Yes, yes I am. But this is my wife,” he gestured at you and you smiled, “I didn’t even realize she hadn’t used her maiden name.”
This was a fair call out on his end, as you typically went around with your maiden name to keep miscommunication and confusion out of the hospital, especially with patients.
“Yes well,” you dismissed your husband’s concerns and turned toward Lizzie with a playful grin, “I’ve got this big box of crafting things. Paper, glitter, stickers…funny scissors.”
Lizzie giggled and James smiled at the reaction, then turned toward her parents, “My team and I are going to go over a few more things. I will be back as soon as possible.”
Your attention didn’t pull away from Lizzie as she sat up and began going through the box. You watched with a smile, tilting your head as she pulled out a stack of paper, glue, and stickers. She turned and smiled at you, “Can we make crowns?”
“Of course!” You grinned, nodding and beginning to help her.
The two of you began cutting paper, you’d ask her the normal questions. If she had siblings or such, and she’d gladly answer. You weren’t sure how much time passed before your pager went off. You were barely halfway through decorating Lizzie’s crown, but pulled away to investigate.
It was Cuddy, likely wanting you in the clinic. You smiled toward Lizzie’s parents, “I’ve gotta run. I will leave all of this with you, Dr Wilson will make sure it gets brought back to my office.”
Lizzie’s mother smiled, “Thank you.”
“Of course,” you nodded and then left the room.
Cuddy needed a few quick diagnosis from you. She explained that she didn’t have the patience to fight with House for the day, and you understood. You gladly began moving around the clinic, trying to get as many of the younger patients as possible, but still helping everyone you could.
When everything calmed down, you went to your office to check for missed calls or notes from your team. You sat down at your desk, flipping through the papers and files on your desk and listening to voicemails. Everything was in order, and you made a few calls to help parents schedule appointments — then you got in touch with members of your team.
You hadn’t been paying much attention to the time when James came in. He didn’t bother knocking, which didn’t surprise you, and walked in with your craft box on his hip. He smiled at you, approaching your desk.
“Hi,” you said softly, looking up and allowing him to lean down to press a kiss to your lips, “What are we doing for supper?”
“Whatever you want,” he concluded, setting the box down while you looked at him in confusion.
“No House?” James chuckled, shaking his head. You looked down at the craft box, brows furrowing at the sight of what was on the surface. You lifted it up, “What’s this?”
“It’s from Lizzie, she insisted I give it to you,” James explained, smiling at the fond look you made at the sight of the glitter covered paper crown Lizzie had made, “She and her parents were quite fond of you. They were surprised that we don’t have kids.”
You raised a brow, “Interesting.”
He only shrugged, looking at the crown as you stood and placed it on the shelf behind your desk. The shelf was lined with books, toys, games, and everything in between. You moved the crown toward a higher shelf, one with all of your items that patients weren’t allowed to play with. Collectibles, sentimental things.
You turned back to James, walking around your desk and turning your lamp up, “Let’s go get supper.”
James stood, agreeing with you, “We’ll have to stop by my office quick.”
“Fine with me,” you smiled, leading the way out of your office as you grabbed your jacket and turned of the main light. You locked the door and waited for James to walk past you, pulling the door closed. James held his hand out for you, and you took it, gladly holding one another’s hands as you walked to his office and then left the hospital for the night, desperate to find where you would go for supper.

Would you be open to making a fic where both Neteyam and Lo’ak are in love with the reader? They’re always competing with eachother, trying to outdo the other. Then they decide to instead of fighting anymore, they will share you.
I literally cannot decide between them😭 I need some smutty smut with both of them be
Oh my gosh yes please. I’ve been waiting on a new request and this one made me smile 🤭. Enjoy this!!
Tumblr media
I’ll show you a mighty warrior
Pairing: Aged up!Neteyam Sully x Fem!omaticaya reader x Aged up!Lo’ak Sully (SMUT (MINORS DNI)
Tumblr media
Warning(s): SMUT(MINORS DNI), Choking, mature language, unprotected p in v, breeding kink, praise kink, honestly just pure filth i suck at warnings so read at your own risk🫠
Tumblr media
“Oh come on, pretty girl. We’ve got so much time to kill” Neteyam pleads, pulling you by your arm into his room. You look around a little frantic, praying his younger brother wasn’t anywhere close—or any of his siblings really. Neteyam was more needy then usual with touching you due to it being valentines Day. Your clan didn’t usually celebrate but some mates did—although Neteyam wasn’t your mate.
“Nete, I have work” You explain, following where his hands guided you to sit on his lap. “And what if Lo’ak-“
“Screw Lo’ak. My Skxawng of a brother doesn’t deserve you anyway” You sigh, head slightly falling back as he placed wet kisses along your neck. His hands were gripping your waist and you could feel his length growing underneath you already, a soft moan leaving your mouth. “I thought we’ve agreed that your mine”
It hurt to hear those words come from his mouth, making you feel horrible for your feelings toward him and his brother. You wanted to agree but you couldn’t. You were his, but you were also Lo’ak’s.
Neteyam was the first boy you’d ever slept with but you refused to make the bond. You knew you loved his brother, but you couldn’t help but love him too. You hadn’t even slept with Lo’ak but you already knew you couldn’t give yourself to the oldest sully brother. It would’ve been so wrong.
“Neteyam! Have you seen Y/N? She’s late for work!” Kiri yells from outside the cave and you almost instantly jolt up from his grasp, afraid she was going to walk in. Neteyam quickly yells back, lying his ass off in fear she’d wonder why you came from his room if he told her the truth. “Where do you think she could be!”
“Check the lake!” She doesn’t respond and you finally hear some silence, sighing in relief once she had been gone. You turned to say something to him but your voice was cut from his lips attached directly to your own, hands cupping your small face in his palms. Sometimes you wore he wanted his scent to stay on you, like a sign to let other guys know you were his. It was cute, Neteyam was far too in love with you to let you go.
You pull his lip gently as you pull away, letting it go when you were a few inches away from his face. He looked at you with pure love in his eyes, pushing a strand of hair behind your ear. “I’ll see you tonight” His lip is stuck between his teeth as you turn on your heels, grabbing your stuff before you left his room.
• • •
“Put some of this on it tonight and it should feel better tomorrow” you hand the hunter yalnabark, standing to your feet with him so you could dispose of the dirty rags used to clean his wound. You loved your job, but sometimes it was a lot. Especially when hunting parties came in.
The sound of the tents cover moving made your ears perk and you sighed, waving the soldier. “I’ll be with you in just a second” You continue on with cleaning the dirty utensils, placing the rags on the loom—weaved line to dry. A set of hands grasped your hips and you gasped, jumping to push the soldier back from you.
“Lo’ak? Jesus! I could’ve killed you!” His pearly white teeth show as he laughs, walking towards you with a smile. You noticed what was in his hand and it almost made you fall weak at your knees it was so cute. “Are those…”
“Your favorite fruit” You smile as he hands the basket to you, heat rising in your cheeks even when you weren’t looking at him. “It was kind of hard to find… that’s why I’m giving it to you so late-“
“Thank you, Lo. I was just about to eat lunch, too” You both share a laugh and you lower the basket onto the floor, pulling the boy into a hug. Lo’ak was the brother you were less intimate with. He only ever kissed you a few times but Neteyam couldn’t keep his hands off you half the time. They were polar opposites.
That’s what you loved about Lo’ak, and that’s also what you loved about Neteyam.
Neteyam showed his love to you in the most sensual ways, his love language was so clearly touch. You’d always find yourself laying with Neteyam at night to go to sleep because he was so overprotective over you—always needing to touch you whenever you were together. His brother was the nervous one, loving you with small romantic gestures like bringing you lunch or gifts while you worked. His love language was definitely acts of service and words of affirmation, seeing as everytime you’d tell him how much you appreciated him, he’d fall at your feet.
You liked it though. You got the best of both worlds.
Just as you were about to kiss him, that familiar deep voice interrupted, the two of you pulling away quickly. “Am I interrupting?” Your heart is beating outside your chest as you watch the two brothers exchange a scolding look. This wasn’t anything knew. The sully brothers had always fought over you—but something about today felt different.
“You are” Lo’ak responds and you rub your face, going back to your work tasks to let them deal with this on their own. It wasn’t you fault, really. You just couldn’t choose between them. “Flowers? Ridiculous”
“Y/N” you hum as the oldest brother approaches you, pushing his brother out of the way. You turn at the smell, eyes catching the glowing purple flowers in his hands. “These are for you” Jesus, what were you gonna do with them? Their so lost when it comes to you.
“Aw, Nete” you smile, taking them from his hands with ease. You try to look at Lo’ak but you can’t. You can’t pretend your tongue wasn’t down his brothers throat just hours ago. “I love them. Thank you” The two glared at each other, ears falling at the sound of your voice. “Guys, not here”
“It’s Valentine’s Day. I had to come surprise you” Neteyam grabs your hand but your eyes catch Lo’ak’s before he starts to speak, pulling your hand to put up to him.
“Not. Here” you repeat and they both groan, Neteyam stepping back from you.
“It’s fine. My Skxawng of a brother doesn’t have to see what we do in private” He teases and you sigh, pushing him away with ease.
“I am working now, you two need to go if your not hurt” Neteyam rolls his eyes and Lo’ak nods, watching his grandmother walk into the now crowded tent.
“You boys bothering her again? Go! Don’t you have work to do?” You smirk and watch Neteyam glare at you, giving you that look you knew all too well that meant he would find you later, which he very much would.
That was hours ago. Your day was now finally over and you could go home to your cave and sleep. Your parents were out on a hunting party so you were a little upset, but kind of loved that you had some peace and quiet for once. Especially in the forest.
You enter the cave with a sigh, throwing your gear onto the ground before you could even walk to your hammock. You were so tired, feet hurting from walking around all day.
But as soon as you entered, that same familiar face appeared in front of you. His smile only grew as you walked closer, admiring the many aspects of your now decorated room. It was so beautiful, flowers scattered on the ground and small lights giving the room a night light effect. “Teyam…” You pout, letting him take your hands in his own, placing kisses against your knuckles. “I just… Eywa, this is so beautiful”
“You like it?” You nod, looking up to his amber eyes that had been burning with passion. He could’ve ruined you right then and there if he wanted. Instead of pulling him into a hug, you pull his face down to share a passionate kiss. Your hands settling in his long braids. Neteyam was taller then you and your toes had to stand tall just to reach his lips, but every kiss was so worth it. His hands gripped your hips, pulling you closer then you had been before.
“Needy today, aren’t we?” You smirk against his lips, kisses becoming more hungry by the second. His hands cupped your face, one wrapping around your throat to gently pull you into him. His hands gripped your hips harder, pulling you back—Wait. What?
You eyes quickly opened and you turned around, eyes widening at the sight in front of you. The two boys look as though their getting along, both walking toward you until your back hit the caves wall. “What’s wrong, Syulang? It’s just us”
“You aren’t fighting… he just saw us—he was behind me—I… I’m so confused” The oldest boy shushes you, one hand cupping your small face while the other boy grabbed your hand, thumb caressing your palm. “Nete—Lo, what is going on?”
“You trust us, right?” You look between the two, forehead still creased with confusion. What was there to trust? Of course you did, but why did you need to now?
“Of course I do but-“ Your voice is cut off once again by the eldest boy’s lips attaching to your own. Jesus, he loved doing that, didn’t he? His hands pulled you close to him and you didn’t even think to protest, feeling Lo’ak’s hands on your back. You were so lost, still trying to figure out what had been going on.
“You think it’s fun to play with our emotions?” Lo’ak’s voice is hot against your ear as he pressed himself against your ass, hand pushing your hair away from your neck. You tried your hardest to respond, but Neteyam’s tongue hadn’t even been close to done against yours. “Wake up with him then come to me, right? That’s what it is? That’s what I mean to you?”
You whine against Neteyam’s soft lips, hands trying to reach Lo’ak’s. You felt so bad, so terrible for making him feel that way. Was neteyam having doubts too?
“That’s okay. Tonight, we end this stupid charade and see who can really have you” His lips attach to the exposed skin on your neck with ease, fingers roaming up to remove your chest piece. You could feel the slick of your heat fill your cunt, slowly seeping down your skin. You knew what they were doing now, and it made it all so much more obvious.
“Should I be nice and let him have you first? Or maybe we need to teach him how to please you” Neteyam’s breath is hot against your own, and you can feel Lo’ak’s length pressing hard against your thigh. It was surreal—you really had both the Sully brothers at your feet. You were nervous for Lo’ak, seeing as he never did this with you but was sure he could beat Neteyam like always.
“Don’t make me laugh, bro” Lo’ak glares at him and the oldest boy chuckles, pushing a piece of hair back behind your ear. He looked at you with sinister eyes, like he had something so bad planned.
“You know what to do, don’t you?” You looked at him, trying your hardest to believe this as real—but it felt so fake. Were you dreaming? Because this was very much a dream you had a lot. The taller boy holds your head in his hand, gently urging you to the tab behind you and you obviously obeyed.
You sat on the table in front of the two boys, stomach growing nervous at the sight in front of you. Lo’ak’s hand caressed your hair, moving to sit behind you on the wooden table, reassuring voice in your ear.
“Don’t be nervous. It’s just us” Yeah, just Lo’ak and Neteyam… the two men who had your heart on the tightest hold. You follow the older boys motions as he pushes down on your chest, back lowering to lay in between his brothers legs. “Is this okay?” You nod hesitantly, watching as Neteyam untied your loincloth, tossing it to the floor without a care in the world.
Your chest was rising so heavily and Lo’ak could see it, whispering sweet nothings into your ears to calm you down. You weren’t anxious, it just felt like a dream, or a rush. Neteyam places a few kisses up your thigh, your breathing growing shakier as he got closer to your heat.
“He’s gonna fall so deep in love with you when he hears your pretty moans” Neteyam mumbles against your thigh and you can feel the voice inside you start to fill your body, walls clenching around nothing just to gain some sort of friction. “Gonna show him how you like it. Does that sound good, Pretty girl?” You nod and he tsked, teeth gently sinking into your thigh. “Words”
“Y-yes, sounds good” Lo’ak’s ears perk at your small noises, might’ve even been his new favorite music. Neteyam didn’t waste any time on leaning into you, taking your clit between his lips while holding your legs still. Lo’ak watched you in awe, the way your face twisted making him harder by the second. You looked so beautiful like that.
You felt his cock press against your back, eyes opening to look at him. You pulled his face down, connecting your lips with a sloppy but passionate kiss—wishing you could touch him where he needed. He was the cutest thing above you, just itching to get ahold of you like his brother. He was so jealous.
“Mmph… Eywa, Nete” you moan against his brothers lips, a small gasp leaving your mouth once you felt his fingers slip into you.
“Hope your watching, Baby bro. I’m practically giving you a cheat sheet” Neteyam states cockily and you shush Lo’ak before he can retaliate, hand reaching up to pull the band from his hair.
“I’m sure you’ll be just as good, Pretty boy” His pupils grow at your words and his tail was now swaying, cock pressing painfully harder now more then ever against you. Told you, words of affirmation.
Your legs open wider on their own, heels of your feet sitting on Neteyam’s shoulders. You were on cloud nine. Making out with one of the sully boys while the other ate you like you were his last meal. Eywa, it felt so good. His fingers curled inside you with a pace, tongue circling your clit over and over until your abdomen was pushing up off the table, muffled noises growing louder against Lo’ak’s lips.
“You look so pretty like this” Lo’ak remarks, holding your heavy head in his hands as you let out those beautiful sounds, hand reaching down to tug on the older brothers hair. “Feels good, huh? Can’t wait for my turn”
“Nete…great mother—“ you let out a breathless moan, grip tightening around his hair.
“Come for me, Sweet girl. We’ve got you” Neteyam coached, Lo’ak’s hands now reaching down to cup your breast in his hands. He loved watching you fall apart—even if it was for his brother. You came undone with a long and loud moan, hips digging into the wood under you as your back pushed off Lo’ak. Neteyam knew you like the back of his hand, he knew your body so well it was almost impossible to hold out for him.
“Did so good, baby. I think it’s my turn” You whine, legs closing once Neteyam stood back up. His tongue ran along his lips as him and Lo’ak switched places, now having Neteyam sit behind you with his fingers still dripping wet from your core.
“Nete… I wanna please you” He shushes you and you gasped feeling yourself getting tugged forward, Lo’ak’s hands spreading your legs apart once again. “W-wait! Too sensitive I—“
“We’re gonna take care of you, remember?” Neteyam lifts your chin, a small smirk plastered across his lips. He knew exactly what he was doing. “This isn’t about us, it’s about you, Ma’Tìyawn” The sensation between your legs caught you by surprise at how fast it had been, nails digging into Neteyam’s wrists. “Don’t rush it. Make her feel good” Neteyam instructed and you swore you could’ve moaned just at that. He was so particular when it came to you, making sure everything was perfect.
“I-it feels good, just didn’t expect it” You reassure the boy, one hand getting lost in his hair and the other pulling Neteyam’s face to feet your own. You roughly connected your lips, knowing now that it was neteyam, you could be as aggressive as you wanted. He always matched your speed, or even sometimes faster.
Of course the loud muffled cries where noticeable against his lips, thanking Eywa you had him against you to shut you up. You were so sensitive, you didn’t have time to think before your hips were still bucking off the table.
Lo’ak was fast, trying to draw you to your end faster then Neteyam. You knew he was trying to prove a point, but it didn’t matter because you still loved the way it felt—the way both of them felt.
“Moans are so pretty, baby. Hope he’s making you feel good” Neteyam’s thumb caresses your cheek and you nod desperately, a cry escaping your lips. “Maybe he should get you first, so I can finish you off” God, Neteyam and his boyfriend attitude. He kisses your knuckles, allowing you to pull on his skin to sooth your moans. He loved when you marked him up, showing everyone he was yours.
“L-Lo! Oh Eywa… I can’t!” Neteyam presses another kiss to your lips and Lo’ak doesn’t slow down, only going faster against you like you weren’t going crazy above him. You were losing yourself, holding onto Neteyam for comfort.
Your high came down the hardest you’d ever experienced before, legs shaking rapidly against Lo’ak’s hands as you hid your face into Neteyam’s neck. The two boys watched you in awe, Neteyam almost a little jealous at the sight in front of him.
“Holy shit” Lo’ak mumbled and you look to him, eyes widening at the shining gloss over his abdomen and thighs, your release dripping all the way down to his loincloth. “Did you just-“
“My turn” Yup. Neteyam was officially jealous. It wasn’t like he hadn’t made you squirt before, but the fact his baby brother got it on the first try, he knew he had to do something better.
He removes himself from the table and lifts you in his arms, laying himself down onto the large loom made bed you had specially built only months ago. Your legs were barely working at that point, cries leaving your poor mouth as he pulled you onto the sheet.
“You want me to take over or do you want to? It’s your day, I want you to feel good” He reassures you and you sigh, looking down at his now fully exposed cock that stood against his abdomen. You lay next to him and he’s already on his way behind you, pulling your back against his chest as Lo’ak settling in on the other side of you.
You reach down between you and Lo’ak, taking his painfully hard cock in your hand. It wasn’t as thick as Neteyam’s, but it was about the same size. You really were getting the best of both worlds, huh? His eyes almost instantly roll back the same time as yours do, Neteyam’s hand keeping you in place as he slipped into you with ease.
“Look at me, Lo” you practically beg the boy in front of you, his eyes opening but his lips now stuck between his teeth—stopping his whimpers from escaping. Aw, he’s so easy to get to.
Neteyam's hands moved your hips against his, lips attaching to your neck while your sweet voices he loved so much escaped, face falling against Lo'ak's. You stared down at his length, biting your lip at the sight.
His cock had already been leaking pre, and you knew he wouldn't last long if you kept going, only letting your hand stroke him slow.
"Always so tight around me—could stay here forever" the eldest boy breathes in your ear, his pace slowly starting to increase once you got used to him. Lo'ak was jealous, but he couldn't think of anything else beside the fact your hand was palming him, soft voice whispering sweet nothings into his ear. You didn't want him to feel left out, you needed him to feel good too.
"Aw, baby. Don't hide those from me" your thumb brushes against his bottom lip, pulling it from his teeth so his moans would surface. You loved when Neteyam was vocal, so you could only imagine the things it would do to you if you had both of them like that. "Good boy"
He lets out a whimper against your neck and your ears peek at the sound, tail wrapping around Neteyam's waist to pull him closer to your body. He was hitting you so deep, so hard you could barely think straight. He definitely had something to prove, ruining you before Lo'ak could even enjoy you.
"Oh, Teyam..." He leans his face down to your own, capturing your lips in a sloppy kiss. Lo'ak's face was still buried into your neck, not even caring that his brother was fucking you right in front of him. He just needed your touch. "That's it—right there!" He lifts your leg more, following your instructions and only hitting deeper then before. Your eyes were rolling back and you could feel your cunt squeezing him the tightest it could, soft moans falling from his lips.
Every gasp, every moan, every breath against his ear but like heaven to him—praising you with a deep, loving stroke after every single one. You moved your hips against his, feeling your breaking point approaching already. He was way too good at this, way too good at knowing your body.
"Gonna come? Already? Let's see if he can beat that" You whine at his words, still competing with his brother even after agreeing to let it go. You wished you could complain, but if this is what it takes for you to get fucked like this, you'd learn to deal with it. "Come on, Pretty girl. Come for me. Show him who had you first"
His words make you moan loudly, a gasp leaving your lips as you felt the pressure on your swollen clit, noticing Lo'ak's hand had been exploring your body with ease. "Oh my—fuck...!" His thumb circles your clit more and you can feel your high coming fast, begging Neteyam for more. He was trying so hard to keep his composure, making sure you had been pleased enough before he could release. He was so fucking close.
"Such a good girl for us. Wanna breed this pussy, make you walk out with my seed stuck deep inside you" You cry at his words and nod your head, the sound of your skin slapping against eachother being the only thing the three of your could hear. "Gonna give it all to you. Great mother—your mine, Y/N"
"Come on, Baby. Come so I can feel you" Lo'ak cups your face and you cry with one last thrust to his hips, his hands pulling you as close as you could possibly get against his lap.
"Nete...!" You both let out the filthiest moan, cunt clenching down on his throbbing cock inside you, the hot white spurts of his release painting your walls full. He mumbled things into your ear but you were too stuck on your orgasm to even respond, just falling against Lo'ak's chest with your chest heaving tirelessly. Neteyam pushed your hair away from your neck, placing a few small kisses to your skin.
"One more and then your done, okay?" You whimper, feeling his limp cock slowly slip out of you. His eyes were set on the mess he had made inside you, watching in awe as you laid with his brother, completely fucked out. "Your gonna ride him. Show him how this works, yeah?"
"Nete... I can't-"
"You can" He helps you stand onto your knees, Lo'ak's body moving to sit up in front of you. "I'm gonna help you, okay? Gonna make sure he takes real good care of you" Lo'ak pulls you into a kiss as you position yourself above him, Neteyam's hands helping guide you so you didn't give out.
"Don't—Mmph!" The brother moans against your lips as he finally seeps into you, Neteyam's mess already lubricating your cunt. "Y/N... great mother—so tight" He was a mess under you, wondering how you could've still been this tight even after his brother had you. It felt so fucking good.
"Just relax. I'll take care of you, I'll show you" You reassure him, hips moving against his at a slow pace. His hands pulled at your hips, nails digging into your skin with every breath that left his mouth. Neteyam watched you in awe, always loving how you looked when you were in control.
It wasn’t long before Lo'ak began to rut his hips under you, a gasp leaving your lips as you lean against him, using his shoulders to balance yourself. You matched his pace, noticing that he was now trying his hardest to hold back his release. You didn’t want him to—if anything, you were getting closer just looking at him.
“Feels good, huh? You gonna come again, pretty girl?” You shake your head at Neteyam’s question, but he didn’t take that answer. Lo’ak gripped your throat with one pull, crashing his lips against yours with another snap of his hips. “Give us one more, Baby. Just one more and you’ll be done” The boy caresses your hair and you could feel your tears slipping down your cheeks, the pleasure truly being too much now.
“Lo… Oh god I—it’s too much!” You beg against his lips but they both knew you too well, knowing you truthfully loved every minute of this, wishing he’d never stop even if it was too much.
“Can’t hold myself much longer, Y/N. Come for me” Gosh, how wet it made you hearing that from Lo’ak. His cock kissed your cervix over and over, grip so tight on your waste you were sure there was gonna be bruises tomorrow. This was such knee territory for the two of you. “Can feel you—shit! Come on, I know your close”
You leaned back, hands holding yourself up on his knees as you tried your hardest not to scream, Neteyam almost instantly standing behind you so you didn’t give up.
“Kiss me… god—I’m gonna come!” Lo’ak’s arm snaked around your waist and he leaned forward against you, crashing his lips into yours once again with a muffled moan. Your high was just at its peak, threatening to burst at any moment. Lo’ak knew, he knew and he was right behind you.
With one final thrust into you, Lo’ak held your hips down despite your shaking legs, both of you letting out a loud moan into each others mouth. Your releases mixed together, and his repainted your still fully white walls again, breath fanning against your ear with a sigh.
You couldn’t move or even speak, only sitting there for a minute and letting the two brother converse without you. They had officially fucked you out. You let out a cry as Neteyam lifted you from his brother, helping you lay onto the bed comfortably without touching any area that might’ve hurt. You already had many bruises forming against your skin, and if even one slight touch was to come to your heat, you’d cry.
“D-don’t… don’t touch” The boys chuckle as they laid next to you, Incasing you between their two warm bodies. Neteyam had himself propped up on his elbow, fingers pushing your hair out of your sweating face while Lo’ak’s head laid in your neck, placing small kisses along your shoulder.
“How’s that for a Valentine’s Day surprise?” He kisses your head and you open your eyes to look at them, half lidded against your face. You took one of his braids in between your finger, twirling it around with a smile. “Gotta say, I thought you’d at least stay awake longer then her” he says to his brother but Lo’ak doesn’t even bother, placing his middle finger in the air in front of him.
“Stop it. Your gonna give me a headache” you flick his head and he only chuckles, leaning down to press a kiss to your lips. “I feel so…gross” You make him laugh once again, looking between the three of you. You couldn’t believe what had just happened, and the fact you had both of the sully boys release inside you, made it so much more forbidden.
“I guess we’ll have to see who’s kids are faster, huh?” Your eyes widen at the younger boys question, pushing his head away from you while the two begin to laugh together.
“Stop it! That is not funny!”
“It’s definitely mine. I’m a fast swimmer so-“
“Neteyam!” He puts his hands up in defense, Funally laying down next to you. Lo’ak had his head back on you, now just trying to drift off to sleep. “You two are ridiculous” He only hums, leaning down to press kisses up your jaw, teeth gently pulling at your ear lobe before whispering.
“So, who was better?”

*RING RING*
You stir in your sleep as you try to block out the annoying sound that was ruining the sleep that you rightfully earned after staying up late studying. Finally, the ringing stops letting you relax but as soon as you get used to the quiet, the ringing starts back up making you groan as you open your eyes slowly.
You pick up your phone from the dresser that is close to your bed and see that Kiri, your best friend, is calling. You let out another sleepy groan as you accept the call and put it to your ears. “Hello?” You say with a soft voice fighting the sleep that threatens to bring you back to sleep.
“Finally, you answer your fucking phone!” Kiri yelled into the phone making you jump up, you were woken now. “I’m sorry, I happen to love my sleep.” You sit up properly rubbing your eyes softly. You put her on speaker as you checked your notifications and saw 8 messages from Kiri and 2 from Neteyam.
“What’s going on?” You asked as you went to read Neteyam’s message, remembering you had promised him that you were going to watch his practice. You get up off the bed and pick up your phone as you head to the bathroom to start getting ready. “Ao’nung is here on campus looking around for you,” you immediately stop what you’re doing and pick up the phone, taking it off speakerphone and putting it to your ear. “I know you fucking lying!”
“Girl, why would I lie? I know his musty ass from anywhere,” Shit, why now? This is all you can think about as you get yourself ready. “What does he want from me? We broke up a month ago, I blocked him and haven’t spoken to him since so why is he tryna show up now?” You let out a breath as you roll your eyes.
“He realized that he lost the best thing he could ever have in his life,” you sigh. “He just needs to leave me alone. Girl, I’ll see you on campus, I have to meet your brother at his practice.” You hear a laugh on her end. “You mean your other half,” she says while giggling as you roll your eyes and a smile appears on your face. “Shut up,” you laugh as you both say your goodbyes and you hang up.
You put your phone down on the bed and take a deep breath. “Eywa, please don’t let me run into this asshole.” you silently prayed hoping the odds are in your favor.
You finally arrive on the field that held Neteyam’s practice wearing some jeans, your favorite converse, and your favorite black hoodie which was originally Neteyams but he knew he wasn’t getting it back once he gave it to you.
So far luck was on your side, Ao’nung was nowhere in sight, only hoping it’ll stay that way. He laid his bed that night he decided to get his dick wet with some girl he had just met. He threw away the chance of having you as his ‘forever’ as he used to tell you. It's crazy how a person you thought you would spend the rest of your life with can hurt you so much without even caring about how you would feel.
You were so far in your mind that you didn’t even hear your name being called til the person got a hold of your waist turning you around to face them. “You made it,” Neteyam smiled down at you and a smile appeared on your face as you quickly got your mind off Ao’nung. “Of course, I did promise you that I’d make an appearance.” you rest your hand on his bicep rubbing it softly as he looks down at the hoodie you’re wearing.
“Oh so that’s where my favorite hoodie went,” he smirks as you let out a smirk of your own. “It’s my favorite hoodie now, you would have to cut it off me to have it back,” you let out a giggle as he just smiled. “It looks better on you than it ever did on me anyway,” he says as you make eye contact with him smiling so hard, Neteyam was always so nice to you ever since you met, especially after the breakup, he made sure that you took care of yourself, talked to you when you needed it, let you vent your frustrations, hell he even took a yoga class for you.
You lost eye contact with him for a second when you saw Ao’nung glaring at the two of you, eyeing the way your hand was rubbing on Neteyam’s bicep. Your heart immediately starts racing, “Please eywa, let that not be him and I’m just seeing things,” you thought to yourself but when you looked back at him, he was for sure real because he was making his way over here sending you in a whole panic not wanting to deal with him at all.
“Y/n, are you okay?” Neteyam asks worriedly as he takes in your panic state. You didn’t know what to do, looking back to where Ao’nung was, he was getting closer and closer and a rushed idea came up in your head. “Kiss me!” you blurt out as Neteyam goes into shock not expecting that to come out of your mouth. “Wha-” he starts to ask but you cut him off by placing your lips onto his, moving your hands to his waist as you pull him closer to you.
Neteyam couldn’t believe this was happening, he thought that this could be a dream but as you squeezed his waist tighter, he smiled into the kiss bringing a hand to cup your cheek and his other hand placed on your waist. You honestly almost forgot the reason why you abruptly kissed him just on how good of a kisser Neteyam was, he easily took the lead from you and you wrapped your arms around his neck and as you do, you open an eye taking a glance at Ao’nung’s angry stance seeing if he’d still make his way to where both of you were standing but he turns around and storms off which makes you smile continuing the kiss.
You didn’t even know why you were still kissing Neteyam since the intention was to get rid of Ao’nung but you knew you couldn’t deny that you enjoyed it. Finally, you slowly pull away from each other still in each other’s embrace just staring into each other’s eyes, both knowing that this little kiss will change the course of your friendship. “When were you going to tell me that you were such a good kisser?” You ask as he laughs while bringing you closer to him as you lay your head on his chest hiding the big smile you couldn’t stop.

You were currently helping Mo'at in the healing pod when you began to feel ill. Your stomach was beginning to feel agitated, it was like someone was physically shaking you.
As you continued to do the list of tasks Mo'at assigned you to complete you tried your best to shake the feeling of nausea away, hoping it would soon pass. As you tried to stand up from your current position on the floor, you began to feel slightly lightheaded and your legs felt as if they were going to give out on you any second, "my child are you okay?" Mo'at rushed over to your side and help you sit back down on the mat.
"Yes, I'm fi-" your sentence was cut off by the feeling of this morning's breakfast attempting to make a reappearance.
You quickly grab the closest bowl in your reach and begin to expel the content of your insides. Mo'at gently pulls your hair up so it doesn’t get in the way and once you’re finished Mo'at immediately took the bowl to discard it.
As you grab a cloth and begin to clean your mouth you heat up with embarrassment, feeling it spread from your chest up to your cheeks, knowing that you just vomited in front of your Tsahìk and even worse your mate's grandmother.
When Mo'at walked back inside she could see the tears welling up in your eyes, "no need to cry my child, everything is fine. Nothing to be ashamed about..." she speaks in her usual light and sweet tone, reassuring you that it was nothing to be embarrassed about.
With her being the Tsahìk for many years she has seen any and everything so a little accident like this didn't phase her one bit.
"Let's just get you to lay down so we can see what's wrong okay?" you nod your head in agreement and began to lie down on the mat below you. Once your flat on your back Mo'at began to examine you.
She began to touch and take in a full look at your appearance. She could see the tired look in your eye and the slight swollenness of your breasts. She then began to lightly touch your stomach, "How long have you been feeling sick like this?"
"A few weeks now..." Mo'at just nodded her head in response and reach over to her basket full of medical instruments and grabbed a wooden Pinard horn. She placed it gently on your lower stomach and pressed her ear against the other end.
Once she was satisfied with her findings she placed the instrument back in its proper place. As you looked at her you were trying to read her facial expressions to see if the news would be good or bad but her face was restful, not a slither of emotion in sight.
"What is it? Is everything okay?" you questioned in a soft voice hoping the news wouldn't be bad.
"Yes everything is great, you are with child" As she speaks her lips curl into a smile, happy that she will be welcoming another great-grandchild into the world.
As her words rang through your ears, your eyes immediately begin to water. You were so happy to hear the news that you were pregnant. You and Lo'ak have been trying for a while so to know that you were now carrying a child, his child, in your stomach made you feel overwhelmed with joy.
"H-How far am I?"
"Almost two months, you aren't showing yet but in due time you will"
You gently place your hands on your stomach, rubbing it softly with a smile on your face knowing that Eywa has finally blessed you with the gift of conceiving. Knowing that your stomach would eventually swell with the growth of your baby made you feel warm inside, it was as if your motherly love was growing stronger by the second.
As you were walking home, still feeling the happiness of finding out about your pregnancy you could hear someone calling your name, "Hey y/n!"
you turn around and see Tuk running up to you with a newly crafted armband, “That looks great Tuk, your getting so good at weaving”
“Thank you, I made this for my Sempu for Father’s Day”
You almost forgot that Father’s Day was coming up for Jake since you were Omatikaya and the clan didn’t celebrate those type of holidays like on Earth.
“When is Father’s Day Tuk?”
“Tomorrow”
Since Father’s Day was tomorrow you came up with a perfect plan to surprise Lo’ak with the news of him being a father.
After talking to Tuk you began making your way to the biolab so you could talk to Spider.
Once you made it inside you saw Spider talking to one of the scientists, “Hey Spider”
“Hey y/n, what’s up?”
“I need you to help me with something…”
After explaining your idea to Spider he instantly agreed, excited to help you in any way possible.
You brought him back to your marui and both of you began to work on the surprise, after a few hours you finally completed it.
“How do you think it looks? Do you think he’ll like it?” You asked Spider as you showed him the final product
“Amazing, when he sees it he’s going to love it”
It’s now the next day, Father’s Day and you were so excited to surprise Lo’ak. As both of you started your morning as normal, talking, eating breakfast, and getting ready for the day you were waiting for the right time to tell him the news.
“I’m leaving to go give my Dad his gift for Father’s Day” Lo’ak told you as he walked next to you and kissed you softly on the cheek.
“Okay well before you go I have something to show you”
As Lo’ak watched you walk to the other side of the room he began to wonder what you wanted to show him. After a few minutes, you walked back in front of him and held up a woven blanket.
At first, he looked at the amazing patterns it held, he could tell your skills came to life as you weaved. As he continued looking at your work his eyes went to the middle and he began to see words but they weren’t written in Na’vi, they were written in English which took him by surprise since you couldn’t write in English but thanks to Spider helping you yesterday you were able to get it done.
“H-a-p-p-y F-a-t-h-e-r-s D-a-y” he slowly spoke the words under his breath and his brows furrowed, “why does this say Happy Father’s Day? Is it a gift for my Dad?”
You begin to chuckle at the sound of confusion in his tone, “No yawne it's for you”
You saying that only made his face contort with an even more confused expression than before, “Me? How is it for me?”
“Think about it Lo’ak, think about it really hard”
Lo’ak began to ponder on your words, hearing you put such emphasis in your voice made him think as hard as he could. Once he thought about it for a while and truly processed your words his golden eyes lit up instantly, “Wait…You’re pregnant?”
“Yes, I’m almost two months”
Lo’ak just stands there awestruck for a moment, he couldn’t believe his mate, the love of his life was now carrying his bundle of joy.
Lo’ak walks up to you and immediately pulls you into his embrace, squeezing you so tight that you would almost burst. Once he let you go he began to plant kisses all over your face, “I-I can’t believe it, we finally have a baby together”
“I know I’m so happy, we finally have our own little family. we’ve created a life, a new member of the clan”
As Lo’ak began to think of having a child he was happy of course but he also had a small voice telling him things, things that always made him doubt his future parenting abilities, “y/n, do you think I'll be a good dad?”
You knew he always had doubts in the back of his head, telling him he wouldn’t be a good father because he had a strained relationship with Jake.
“Yawne..” you grab his hand and place it gently on your stomach, “you will be the best father to our child, they will feel so loved by you. You will have the best relationship with them” you smile at him, reassuring him that no matter what he will be an amazing father.
“Thank you tìyawn” he pulls you in for a tender kiss, you could tell by your reassuring him it gave him a new wave of confidence.
You pull back from him and begin to gently caress his cheek and look up at him with eyes that shined with love, “Happy Father’s Day Lo’ak”

Pairing: Dilf!Jake Sully x Sully Mom!Reader (+the sully's)
Synopsis: Jake remembers that he used to surf. Now he resides in Awa’atlu, surrounded by water and waves, what more does he need?
Warnings: mild angst but mainly just pure fluff
Notes: I thought I was soooo clever for this idea. And I still do, watchu go'n do ab it
Word count: 1.5 k
The waves came crashing against the shoreline of the beach, washing away the remnants of seafoam. The Sully’s were spread out on a wooden carpet, basking in the warmth of the pandorian sun. Kiri and Tsireya were occupied with observing the ocean floor, admiring the beauty of the coral adorned reefs, whilst Lo’ak was completely caught up in some heated discussion with Ao’nung and Rotxo in the shade of the trees.
Tuk’s head was propped up on your shoulder, snoring away in the sun. You had put a hand up to cover your child's head and protect it from the immense heat, but the muscles in your arms were starting to ache. You gently nudged Tuk’s snoozing form awake and soon, she was excitedly dashing towards the sea to join her sister. The faint sounds of laughter and contrasting yelling became more distant as Jake’s gaze shifted focus to the ocean, to the slow rolling of the waves.
His mind wandered to faded memories of his childhood, souvenirs lost to time. This was actually a somewhat regular occurrence, just because he became na’vi didn’t mean his human experiences were just going to completely dissipate into thin air. The familiar sounds of water and shouting kids from childhood trips to the beach were etched deep into the walls of his memory, reminding him of times that had escaped him.
A sudden, powerful gust of wind tempted the waves to climb higher, and the image made something in Jake’s brain dig itself out of the mess. A memory from summers spent taming the monstrous waves on a big, blue board. It had been such a long time since he last stretched his legs on a surfboard and the thought sparked an idea. After losing feeling in his legs, there were many activities that Jake had to quit and forget about. He was devastated, so many beloved hobbies he had, and he could not continue a single one.
Before he could really process it, he was up on his feet, eagerly excusing himself from his basking mate. Tonowari stood in the shade of some trees, discussing new hunting strategies, when Jake suddenly appeared out of thin air in front of him. The expression painting the omaticaya’s face indicated nothing short of urgency, so Tonowari quickly dismissed his hunters, shifting his attention to Jake’s matters.
“Are there any really big pieces of wood laying around? Pieces that you don’t have any use for?” The signals of Tonowari’s puzzled expression didn’t quite seem to have reached Jake as he gave no further explanation, and when the metkayina male gestured to a pile of wooden debris, the shorter of the two hastily walked off before he could ask any questions.
Jake scavenged through the old scraps of wood for a good while before finding a piece big enough for a full grown na’vi. The material was huge, comparable to the wall of a house, or an adult birch tree. He hadn’t stopped to consider the difference in size between his human and his now much bluer and brawnier form when he was carving away at the wood, instead, he had relied heavily on poorly memorized measurements from teenage days. They obviously turned out to be completely wrong, so he had to start all over again.
Jake worked on his board all evening while the sky grew multiple shades darker, warping its colors and collecting stars. After he had been gone for a few hours, you began wondering about the whereabouts of your mate. When the kids seemed occupied enough, you quietly left your family’s marui pod. The laughter and chatter originating from your pod soon grew distant as you made your way through the village.
You spotted your beloved, kneeling by something large. Remaining where you were, you only observed from afar to inspect his intentions. A warm smile spread across your face, reflecting the one adorning Jake’s. He looked proud as he held the piece of wood up, examining his handiwork.
It was a very rare sight nowadays, to see your mate be visibly happy over something. Ever since your family had to flee from your home and face the loss of a son, not many cheerful days had been spent. Your time had been filled with duties and awkward interactions, carried out with monotone, keening movements. So to see Jake in a state of pure joy, without the crushing weight of guilt on his shoulders, was refreshing.
After turning around to return to the pod, Jake noticed your form in the dim light of a dying torch, soft features painted orange in the gentle flicker of the flames.
“Hi, what have you been up to?” Your voice was as soft as the look in your eye, inviting him to share his secrets.
“Just thought I'd relive some of my youth. Leave some legacy for my kids to carry, you know.” He smiled at you, moving closer to where you stood. The light pressure of a hand attaching itself to your hip sent your heart tingling, warmth spreading through your body.
“Why don’t you relive that youth tomorrow. It is very late, ma Jake.” His expression softened even more at that, confirming with a nod before gently pulling you towards your pod.
It seemed as if the sun shone brighter than usual. The air felt crispier as Jake breathed in slowly, making his way down to the beach. He had the whole family in tow, excitedly hopping around, eager to see what their father had been so happy about. The waves rose higher in the sky today, it was an ideal scenario. The keen expressions on the children's faces spoke of just as much happiness as Jake, it made your heart flutter, eyes glossed over with a thin layer of tears, ready to flow at any moment.
Excited murmurs and giggles could be heard from the Sully’s marui pod early in the morning, the scratching sounds of wood being carved overpowering the usual sounds of the village as soon as the sun nibbled on the horizon. Jake had let the kids in on his plans as soon as the two of you had come back to the pod. It was decided that Lo’ak was also getting a board of his own, he was too small to ride on the one Jake had: And when the morning light finally hit the walls of the pod, Lo’ak got to work.
Jake hurried towards the sea, mounting the board as soon as it hit the thrashing water. Lo’ak followed, copying his fathers actions. Your mate had more skill than your son, though, and it all ended up with Lo’ak soaked to the bone, with water cascading down his braids. Jake tried his best to teach his son, but it was difficult. Lo’ak was stubborn and grumpy, having just entered his teenage years, and wouldn’t really listen to what his father said.
They soon gained an audience, multiple metkayina families had gathered around the piece of land which the Sully’s occupied, watching intently as the two omaticaya wrestled the waves. You were seated in the sand, hands digging into the warmth of it, a nervous tick you had gained for all the times Lo’ak had gotten into trouble. Tuk was playing with a few crab-like creatures in the shady part of the beach, not paying much attention to the ruckus behind her until Jake called her over to try it out.
Kiri and Spider were situated on a rock, following the movements of their family members with the glimmering lens of a camera, an item Jake had brought “just in case”. Your son was trying his best to look cool on the foreign object, knowing Tsireya was somewhere in the crowd, observing him.
The sound of your laughter filled the air as Tuk tackled Lo’ak off of his board, into the ocean, a smile settling on your face as they both ascended to the surface, smiling. All while Jake was looking over at you, beaming from excitement. Love radiated off of their innocent smiles, melting your heart bit by bit. Oh how you had missed those, the genuine smiles of pure happiness and delight.
The water soon calmed down, the waves descending with it. Jake saw the opportunity and went over to help his son with balance, carefully gliding his board through the water by his side. Lo’ak was sat on the wooden object, clearly not understanding anything. Jake gently put his hand on his son's thigh, reassuring him.
Lo’ak’s knees were planted on the board as he tried steadying himself while the board shook in sync with the body on top. He was finally able to lay on it, and he paddled towards a smaller wave. He readied himself to jump to his feet, planting his hands on the deck before flexing his legs and standing up. He caught the wave at perfect timing, but it was all too small. Then, a sudden current forced the wave to climb as Lo’ak hit the peak of it, which made him glide effortlessly along the big wave.
Jake watched from afar. It was a bizarre sight, the wave ascended in such an unnatural way, and it looked peculiar. But then, suddenly, he felt the gentle presence of someone, someone he dearly missed, and he knew. A big brother always looks after his little brother, no matter what.
GAHHH it turned out so bad LMAO anyway, this was so fun to write though!!

Hello, this is my first time requesting something and i was kinda nervous and i have a few ideas in mind.
But i was wondering if you can write an avatar x maleficent readeri don’t see many of these and i would like something different, and love your writing (if you can’t thats totally fine) thx
This was such a cute idea that I had immediately started it once I got this request! I kinda did a style of the movies still exists and it's not just a random occurrence in the universe. I cut this off to have a nice and fluff type ending but with the opportunity to do a part 2 with heavy angst. And if you want one with the second movie, like it's a growth from this one, just let me know.
Finding Home ~Avatar x Maleficent! Reader
Warnings: Small injuries and a miscommunication that almost causes a fight (Tsu'tey doesn't understand human friendship dynamics)
Masterlist
Being born with wings was definitely a surprise when everyone in the delivery room when I was born. Especially when I later began to grow horns with each passing month. I could only imagine everyone's surprise when they all found out I was exactly like the Disney character Maleficent. That the story wasn't as fictional as everyone had once thought.
Growing up I had idolized the movies of her, ecstatic that I was unique just like she was. Though their were difficulties with my uniqueness as I got older. It was harder to breathe normally compared to someone that had regular problems when I had come to be about 6.
Mom worked with the RDA as a researcher, so they were willing to take a look at me to see what might be wrong. They finally came to the conclusion it was because of the lack of natural forests with fresh air. This caused me to have to use a special inhaler at least 3 times a day. But it was also a discovery that changed my life because I got to meet Grace.
"You know, I'm going to a special place. A different planet that's supposed to have a lot of trees and all kinds of animals and flowers. I think it's just the place you need to truly thrive. Do you like that idea?"
That's what led me here 21 tear years later, technically 15 if cryosleep isn't counted. A botanical expert that would be working alongside Grace and the other members of the Avatar program.
During the safety briefing, I could feel everyone staring at me. But I had become used to it and just focused on the information that was being given to us. Feeling anxious to see Grace again after so long since I first and last saw her.
After the meeting was over, I got ushered along with a Norm and Jake to go and meet up with Grace. I had a small bounce in my step as I walked along with them, not even noticing the weird looks.
"I just gotta ask. What's with the wings and horn things? You like dressing up in them or something?"
"Jake!"
I chuckled softly at the question, casually looked over at the both of them as Jake just waits for an answer as Norm looks absolutely mortified. Stretching my back slightly, I lift one wing up to hang over his had for a second. Smirking at the look of pure awe on both of their faces. "That good enough for you?"
"Holy shit," Jake softly laughed out as he stared at them for a few more seconds before shaking his head. "Now I've seen it all."
"No, I don't think you have yet." I look ahead as we get to the control center of the Avatar program. A smile spreading across my face as I take in all the technology around us, focusing mostly on the screens that were playing overhead.
The sound of one of the pods opening drew my attention away to across the room. A genuine smile coming across my face as I saw her sitting up from the machine, Dr. Grace Augustine.
Grace spoke to some of the other researchers before she turned to look at all of us. I had to keep myself from jumping in to hug her when she turned her focus to me.
Taking in my appearance, she had a small grin as she reached out and affectionately cupped my chin. "Look at how much you've grown. I don't even recognize that little kid that used to carry around a stuffed Maleficent toy like it was a part of you. I'm glad you got to join the program, (Y/n)."
"Thank you, Dr. Augustine," I bashfully reply, feeling ecstatic that she even remembered my name from one interaction years ago. "I'm grateful for the opportunity to be here and working alongside you."
"Always the modest one. That's one of the things I admired about you." She playfully shook my head before finally letting go. Her face becoming a little more stern as she looked at Jake and Norm. Speaking a little more firmly with them.
Letting her words fade into the background, I look back over at all monitors that sit in the center of the room. Marveling at the images that were showing up along with the graphs and how quickly they changed every few seconds.
"They update in real time, you know." I turn my head over to see a guy with glasses standing there with a smile. Pointing up at one of the screens, he continues, "The graphs and the numbers. They help us monitor the vitals of everyone while they are in the pods."
I let out a small 'oh' in understanding as I look back at the monitors for a couple more moment before looking back at him. Holding my hand out, I begin to introduce myself, "I'm (Y/n)."
"I heard," he chuckled out as he took hold of my hand. "My name's Max. I help track the vitals of everyone. And I'm sure everyone heard your name earlier. Grace has never been that nice to anyone before, except for the children."
"Children?" I give him a questioning look as I drop his hand. "They have children here on the base?"
"No, the Na'vi children. Oh, I bet that they are going to love you when they get a look at you." Max's eyes widen when he realized what he had said. Opening and closing his mouth as he tries to find something else to say.
"(Y/n), follow me. Time for a little academic show around." Grace calls out as she begins to head out the door with the men close behind.
Turning back to look at Max one last time, I raise my hand with another smile as I walk away. "I hope your right about that."
I lightly jog to catch up with the group as Grace leads us through the series of hallways until she pushes open a set of doors. When we enter, the first thing I noticed was the dim lighting and blue tint that almost glowed around us. The second thing was the glass tubes that held our Avatars.
Grace placed a hand on my shoulder before leading me to a specific pod off towards the back of the room. Speaking softly when we get closer, "It will take a little longer for you to get your Avatar than the others. It decided to pick up a few extra strands in your DNA that we used."
I stare in awe as I stand in front of the tank, noticing what she had meant. There laid a Na'vi body with features just like mine. Along with a small set of horns and wings that were still developing to fit the rest of the body. Stepping closer, I set my hand on the glass as I smile down at the body. "It's beautiful."
Grace stood beside me with one arm around my shoulders as she put her other hand on the glass with me. "Just like you."
While I didn't have the Avatar body, Grace still let me tag along during the research expeditions. Just as long as I promised to keep my inhaler on my person and my mask stayed on at all times if I didn't need to use it. Just because she wanted to test out the theory of me potentially being able to breathe the air here slowly and in a controlled environment.
We were carefully walking through the forest to a spot where Grace had decided to get some new samples from earlier. There wasn't much talk as we took in the sight of living plants in front of us. Or at least me and Norm were mostly focused on them.
"So, are you able to fly with your wing? Or do they not work for that?" I turn my head up to see Jake staring back at with a confused look on his face.
"I can, but not very well. There weren't many places that I could do something like that back on Earth," I casually explain to him before looking around back around at the area around us.
Grace kneels to the ground around some roots in a tree as she begins to get the equipment ready with Norm as she guides him on what to look for with the images that showed on the screen. I tried to pay attention as I looked down, but I saw Jake walk away out of the corner of my eye.
Following after him, I see him interacting with a different kind of plant. The moment he touched it, it retracted towards the ground as a defense mechanism. I smiled as I watched him do it again with the same result. We both laughed slightly until all of them went to the ground to reveal a small group of the native animals.
We both hold our breaths as one of them gets closer to us. Grace comes running over with Norm as she calls out to Jake. "Don't move. It's only a defense tactic. Just stand your ground."
I watched as he stared down the creature until I felt the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Slowly turning my head around and up, I saw a different animal with sharp fangs staring down at me. I held my breath out of fear as it looked over at Jake and let out a low growl. Jumping over the both of us, it stared down at Jake as he took a step back.
"What do I do with this one?" Jake called over to Grace as he locked eyes with the predator in front of us.
It let out another low growl when Grace called back, "Definitely run!"
I barely processed the fact that Jake had turned around to start running. I let out a small scream as he lifted me over his shoulder. I held onto his shoulder as I helplessly watched as the creature chase after us through the dense forest.
Suddenly Jake came to a halt which caused me to look over to see we had gotten to a cliff edge near a waterfall. "What are you doing?! Go!"
"Can you swim?!"
"Fucking jump!" I apparently didn't have to tell him a second time when a deafening roar sounded through the trees. He pulled me down to his chest and jumped down as he stiffened his body. I wrapped my wings tightly around us right before we hit the surface.
Water rushed past us for a few seconds before Jake began to swim upward. Pushing away from him to start swimming myself, we raise our heads over the surface. Jake gasped for air as we both look to see the creature slowly walk back into the forest.
I let out a small sigh as we swim over to the shore and check for any injuries. I glare at Jake after making sure I was fine from the fall. My voice laced with a subtle anger when I say, "'Can you swim'?"
Jake looks at him as he raises a hand as he backs away. "I was trying to make sure you would be safe if we-"
"Can you swim!? Can you fucking swim!? That's the first thing you thought of!? Not, 'is your mask waterproof' or 'is the thing catching up'! You could have thrown me and I would have flown down while you jumped if you were that worried! But 'can you swim' was all you could think of!?"
"You know," Jake began talking as he turned around and started to walk through the forest, "you are very angry for someone that looks like a Disney character."
"She was a villain to begin with anyways. Maybe you should watch your back Sully." I continue to glare at his back as I walk behind him deeper into the forest.
He looks over his shoulder with a smile as he takes in my disheveled appearance. Trying his hardest to hold in his laughter as he shrugged. "Grace wouldn't let you."
"Grace isn't here," I whisper to myself as we continue to walk. I hear noises of unknown animals from deep in the forest. Despite being mad at Jake, I quicken my pace to be walking beside him. Looking up at the trees, a strange feeling coming over my body as I scan the leaves overhead. "Jake..."
"I know," he mumbled as he carefully scans the trees as well. Reaching a hand out, he gently takes hold of my arm and pulls me to his side. "I feel the eyes too."
"Where are they? What are they?" I hold onto his arm as I start to breathe a little erratically. Using my free hand to rub at my chest as I begin to cough.
"Hey, hey. Calm down there. We'll be okay." Jake looks down at me as he stops walking. Kneeling down a little as his hand goes to my soaked bag. "You need your inhaler 3 times a day, right? You haven't used it since breakfast. Let's get it out and take a deep breath. Can you get it out?"
I nod my head as I let him take the bag off my shoulder. Trying to take a few shaky breaths as I begin to rummage through everything that I had packed. Quickly grabbing hold of the inhaler the moment I uncover it from under everything else. Pulling it out as I shake it lightly as I look at Jake. He gives a small nod, which help my nerves as I bring my free hand to my mask. Pulling it up just enough, I bring my inhaler up to my mouth and take a deep breath. Pulling it away almost immediately to secure my mask back into place with a deep breath.
Jake rubs my shoulder as he waits for me to catch my breath. Giving me an encouraging nod as holds my bag open as I put my inhaler back inside. "There we go. Come one, we need to keep moving. It's going to be night in a few hours and we need to find a place to spend the night."
I nod my head again as I look back at the trees above. Taking my bag back from him and securing it on my shoulder before we began to get on our way once again.
The sun had went down just a little over an hour ago. The sounds of multiple animals circling around us was all that I could hear as Jake began to sharpen a stick. I anxiously look around the trees to try and find where the animals might come from, but they just kept circling around just past our line of sight.
"(Y/n), look at me," Jake speaks in a slightly stern voice as he grabs my arm. As I look at him, I see the fear in his eyes at the situation. But he keeps his composure as he keeps talking as if he wasn't to begin with. "If anything happens, if I tell you to run, you forget about me and get out of here. You fly up and get into a tree until morning when Grace will come back and find you. You look after yourself and I know that you'll be fine. Do you understand?"
I quickly nod my head to show that I understood. I was going to say something to him, something about how it wouldn't have to come to that, but the words stopped short as the bushes right beside us rustle. I can't even fully comprehend it before Jake began to push me away in the opposite direction as we started running again.
We didn't run for long until the animals began to circle us in. I ended up with my back pressed against a tree as the dog like creatures snapped their teeth at Jake. I shut my eyes as soon as he begins to fight off the creatures. I didn't want to watch if he potentially had to kill a few of them before they hopefully ran off somewhere else.
Just as soon as everything got crazy, everything went quiet. I hesitantly opened my eyes to see Jake on the ground as a Na'vi woman kneels down to one of the creatures. Though I couldn't quite make out what she was saying, I could tell she was mumbling a prayer for the creature. That act alone made me look down and away from her, remembering how Grace told us of how sacred life was to the people.
Jake apparently wasn't informed of that or didn't remember as he tried to get closer to her, reaching out and touching her shoulder as he repeatedly tried to thank her. I had to keep from laughing as she swung her bow and hit Jake right in the face. I didn't do that good of a job as she looked over at me with a small hiss before turning around and running into the forest.
Jake quickly got off the ground and followed after her. I didn't even have the chance to protest as he called out from over his shoulder. "Come on (Y/n)."
I quickly made sure my bag was still closed, I ran after the both of them. Though it was a little harder considering that they were larger and more physically equipped to be jumping around the limbs of the trees.
"Hey, wait up!" Jake called out to the Na'vi as we got to a tree that was decently high up from the ground. He had just caught up to her when she turned around to face him.
"Away. Both of you," she spoke in a quiet tone, but the disdain was evident as she looked between the both of us. Getting so close in Jake's space that he took a step back and almost slipped. I held my breath as I watched Jake try to reason with her, even blocking me from her view by steeping to the side just slightly.
I tried to keep focused on the situation, but something moved closer to us out of the corner of my eye. Turning my head out of fear that another creature had followed us. But to my surprise there were small plant like things floating in the air. Slowly getting closer to us before most of them began to land on Jake. A hand full of them remained floating in the air nearby. Hesitantly, I reach a hand out to them, watching in awe as it slowly landed on my open palm. I laughed softly as it gently tickled my skin while the others continued to float around us.
After a few moments, they began to float away from us. I turned towards Jake with a huge grin at what had just happened. My gaze quickly turns curious as I see the Na'vi looking at us both in awe as well.
She looked between me and Jake before she beckoned us with a wave of her hand. "Follow me. Come now."
Jake looked like he wanted to protest her sudden change in heart, but I lightly pushed against his back to get him to follow her. With a sigh, Jake quickly began to chase after her with me following close behind.
We continue running across the tree limbs that seem to stretch on for eternity. Anxiety and anticipation coursing through my veins as the three of us go deeper into the forest.
"Where are we even-" Jake stops in the middle of his question as something comes in contact with his legs. I watch in horror as he violently falls down to the forest floor.
"Jake!" I call out as I lean over to see if he was injured. But I was forced to stop short as something wrapped around my chest. Throwing me off balance as I fall down to the ground as well, landing just a few feet from Jake. The impact leaves me disoriented as my head hits just lightly against a rock that was barely uncovered from the dirt.
I blink away the blur that comes into my vision as yelling sounds from almost every direction. A pair of hands lifts me up before one removes itself. My body tensing up entirely as I feel a sharp, cold blade carefully press right in between my shoulder blades.
Glancing over at Jake, I see he was in a similar situation with a knife pressed against his neck as they held him by his queue. But my attention quickly shifts again when the Na'vi who seems to be the leader of our ambush committee comes forward. He jumped down from his mount as he began to stalk over to Jake.
When he got just a few feet from Jake, the woman jumped down from the branch. Effectively blocking his path as the two of them began to argue between the two of them. I wasn't able to catch most of what they were saying due to how my head was throbbing due to the fall. What I could tell was that he wasn't happy with our presence and she mentioned something that involved their Tsahik.
The conversation came to a quick halt as the leader got back onto the horse like creature. He gave a short order to the rest of the group, which caused the Na'vi that were holding us to pull us to our feet. The sudden movement caused my head to spin so much that my stomach churned. I kneeled back to the ground before lifting up my mask, throwing up what little content I had in my stomach. Barely having enough time to secure my mask back on before the Na'vi begin to force me to my feet once again.
"Kehe!" The tugging on my arms stops when the woman calls out to them. They quickly let go of me when she pushes them away. She gently grabs my face with a small frown as she turns it to the side. Her voice is soft as she ghosts her fingers over a spot on the side of my head. "You are hurt. Let me help you to Hometree. You will get treated once we are there."
I don't stop her when she awkwardly wraps her arms around my body. Being tentative not to touch at the base of my wings too much as she lifts me up. I close my eyes with a small sigh as I slowly grasp at her words. My voice hardly a whisper when I ask, "We're going to Hometree?"
She shushes me as she begins to run with the rest of the group. I hold onto her with a small whine from the motions, even if I wasn't seeing the sights that were passing us by.
Before long, the movements came to a stop as soft murmuring echoed around us. I open my eyes to see that we had finally made it to the Hometree of the Omatikayan people. Many of them gathered around as the group came to the center.
I gently get set down near Jake, leaning into his side as I sway just slightly on my feet. I take another breath as I hear a conversation happening between the woman and another member of the clan. Making out just bits of what each of them were saying in the broken haze of focus that I had.
"What is he saying?" Jake's voice sounds out like a sore thumb when he asks the question. Though I couldn't tell if he was asking me solely or if it extended to the woman as well.
"My father is deciding on whether to kill you both or not." I frown at the blunt explanation she gave at the question. I barely even had time to register that information when I felt Jake move slightly before yelling sounded and I got jostled around.
My eyes immediately shot open at the motion as my wings stretched out in a defensive manner. This had caused more yelling as Jake pulled me closer to his side. But all the noise stopped when another voice calls out for silence. Everyone shifts their gaze over to see the Tsahik stepping into the center of the circle.
I blink away at the dizziness that I feel when she stands in front of us. Taking a deep breath, I bring my hand up to my forehead as I do my best to greet her without messing up the pronunciation.
When I lifted my gaze back up to her, she had a small grin on her face. "I see you were taught some of our ways. Though I see that you might not know the language."
I look at her confused at what she had just said. Looking up at Jake, I speak in a soft voice, "I swear that I pronounced it right."
"You didn't say anything," Jake told me with a concerned expression.
I blink at him a couple of times before I pointed at him with a serious look. "I believe I have a concussion."
"You believe? What gave you that impression?" The sarcasm dripped from his voice as he looked back up at the Tsahik. My face scrunched up slightly before I looked back at her as well.
She slowly took out a knife that had been resting in her neckwear. She quickly stepped towards Jake as she stabbed into his chest. I cringed as she licked away the small bit of blood that was on it. She looked at Jake with a curious expression before she looked down at me again.
She was about to do the same thing until the younger Na'vi, presumably her daughter with what I was gathering, stopped her before the knife hit my chest. She gently took my hand and pointed to the center of my palm. "One touched here."
The Tsahik seemed slightly intrigued by the statement, but she didn't say anything. She gently poked her knife just enough to collect a small bit of blood on the tip before licking it way with a thoughtful look. She looked between us once more before she addressed the crowd. "The Dreamwalker and the... human, shall stay with us. They will learn of our ways and what it means to be Na'vi. We shall all watch them as they learn."
Multiple reactions sound through the crowd at the choice their Tsahik had made, but she didn't pay them any mind. Instead, she turned to her daughter while saying, "Take him to get out of his demon clothes. I will tend to the child."
"I'm in my 20s. I'm not a child," I spoke up at the comment about my age. I knew that compared to their size I probably wouldn't been seen as a full adult to them. But I had been expecting to be acknowledged as more than an adolescent.
Jake gave me a light pat on the shoulder before he reached into my bag and started rummaging around. "Let's get your head working right first before you argue how old you are. But you're going to use your inhaler first before you get out of my sight again."
I let out a sigh as he pulled my inhaler out and placed it in my hand. Nodding my head at his statement, I took a deep breath before lifting my mask back up and taking a couple of puffs of the medicine. I blink back my dizziness when I put my mask back into place.
Jake takes my inhaler from my hand and puts it back in my bag for me. He tilts my head up slightly so I look him in the eyes as he speaks again. "You do what she says so you get better. And don't fall asleep for at least a couple of hours so we make sure your actually okay."
"Yes, mother," I snark at him as the Tsahik gently grabbed my arm and began pulling me up the steps that they had for the tree. I was mostly nudged up the tree by her until she guided me into a small platform that was suspended between the branches. She guided me to sit down on what seemed to be a woven blanket. She moved around and collected a few plants and a small bowl before she began to grind them into a paste.
She never looked up from her task as she spoke to me in a soft tone. "You are not entirely human."
I shake my head with a bashful grin as I watch her mix the plants together. Leaning forward slightly as I try to get a better look at her process. "Everyone thinks that I have fairy blood or something. None of the scientists could really agree on one theory about my condition. Just that I had a mutation somewhere in my family tree or such."
"You used a human thing earlier. What is its purpose to you?" She continued speaking as she grabbed my chin to turn my head. Gently rubbing the paste against where I had hit my head.
I closed my eyes with a small sigh, enjoying the cool feeling on my skin. Humming softly as I think of how to explain it to her. "It's a medicine thing. I use it so I can breathe normal enough to go on day to day. A lot of humans have the same thing. I just have an extra special condition."
"You can't breathe your own air." Based on her tone, I knew she was making a statement and not asking. I opened my eyes as she removed her hands from my body. Watching as she went over to grab a few bandages and a small bowl like container.
I shook my head as she sat down next to me again. Watching as she applied a bit more of the paste to the bandages. "No. That's part of why I'm here. Grace had thought I could maybe breath the air here with the forests. But that was before everyone knew the air here was toxic to humans. But she still wants to see if I can handle. Grace wants to do a few test before we fully see if I can."
As I finished my explanation, she began to carefully wrap the bandages around my head. When she was done with that, she then grabbed the container and held it out to me. "Drink this. It will help with the pain and let you rest well through the night."
I wanted to argue that I shouldn't go to sleep anytime soon, but I stopped myself when she gave me a stern look. I took a few quick drinks as I repeatedly took my mask off so I could drink however much she saw fit. When all the liquid was gone, she finally took it from me with a small nod. Almost immediately after I put my mask back on for the last time, she began to guide me to lay down on the blanket.
I watch her walk around he area, organizing things as she went. My eyes started to flutter shut with passing second that I watched her before speaking up just slightly in the quiet space, "My name's (Y/n)."
I thought I saw her smile a little as she continued to move things around on a shelf. I heard her voice speak out one last time before I went to sleep. "You may call me Mo'at, (Y/n)."
I begin to wake up to sound of hushed giggles filtering in and out of my consciousness. With a small groan, I opened my eyes to see a group of children standing over me. As soon as they see me wake up, they let out small shrieks before running off towards the bottom of the tree. Effectively dodging Mo'at as she comes into the area with a small basket.
She smiles as the children run by before she comes back over to me and sits down. Immediately lifting me up into an upright position as she begins to undo the bandages on my head. "I see the children have already taken an interest in you."
I smile at her before glancing over at the stairs that lead down. "I guess they do. I'm just glad they aren't terrified of how I look."
"They are young. Your world makes them curious and they have never seen one of your people with your... characteristics."
I laugh softly at the last part of what she said. Looking back at Mo'at, I saw she had set aside the bandages that she put on my head last night. My gaze becoming a bit more serious as I noticed a small bit of blood had soaked into it.
"You are fine. The worst that might happen is a small scar," her voice was firm but gentle when she reassured me. Taking a few new bandages from her basket before rewrapping my head in a slightly more snug way than last night. When she was done, she gave my head a small pat before pushing the basket towards me. I noticed that it had a small arrangement of foods in it as she stood back up and moved over to a shelf. "Take the mask off so you eat. It's not of use to you if you can breathe the air."
"But we don't know if I can breathe the air. Grace hasn't done the test to see if I could." I quickly try to remind her that it was only a theory that I could live without the mask on Pandora. That I couldn't know for certain if it would possibly to even do it for even a short period of time.
"You seemed to do just fine with it being broken while you slept." My breath caught in my throat as I took in her sudden revelation.
I frantically grabbed the small oxygen tank to see that the capacity was at zero. Frantically taking off the mask, my gaze immediately fell on a small bit of glass that had broken off and leaving a small, but still noticeable, hole. I take a few small breaths to see if anything seemed off, but it all was normal as I kept taking deep breaths.
"I'm not dead," I utter in disbelief as I look back at her in confusion. My mouth hanging open as I try to piece together how that could have worked. "But... how?"
"I believe you had said something about 'fairy blood' last night. Or did you not really mean that when you told me?" Mo'at had a playful grin on her face as she glanced back over at me.
"I'm going to be perfectly honest here, after I fell off that branch last night, I don't remember much of anything. It's all a blur besides from getting here, your daughter Neytiri, and a very grumpy man who shouted a lot."
"Tsu'tey. That is the man you remember. Now eat," she spoke firmly once again before taking a few bottles from the shelf and setting down not to far from me.
I shuffled a little closer to the basket and pick out some of the fruit that was there. Taking small bites as I watch her work on refilling the herbs that she had begun to get low on. We just sat together in silence as she did her work. Occasionally, I would interrupt her work to offer her a piece of fruit that she would take with a ghost of a smile.
Our attention is soon drawn to the entrance when Jake and Neytiri come walking in. I bit back a laugh as I take in the sight of Jake, dressed in the traditional clothing and covered in mud with a few cuts here and there.
Jake immediately stops in his tracks when he looks at me with wide eyes. "Where's your mask at?!"
"It's broken." I give him a small shrug before I look over at Neytiri. Watching as she went over to her mother and motioned for Jake to come closer and sit.
"What do you mean it's broken?! How are you not dead?!" He continued standing there in disbelief. Completely ignoring the small glare Neytiri was giving him.
"I'm special or something like that." I grab another few pieces of fruit from the basket and hold my hand out for Mo'at and Neytiri. Mo'at takes a piece before Neytiri does the same with a small nod of her head.
Jake just continues to stare in disbelief as he moves over to sit down. I pass him a piece of fruit before giving him a small pat on his shoulder.
"I see he is learning well," Mo'at comments as she passes some herbs over to Neytiri.
"He's a skxawng," she responded before she crushed the leaves into small flakes before moving to rub it into his cuts.
"What does that mean?" Jake looks at Neytiri, hoping she would explain. When she ignored him, Jake looked over to me with a confused look.
"It means you're an idiot." I give Jake a smug grin when I answer his question. Eating another piece of fruit before I glance over at the entrance. Tensing up when I see the Olo'eyktan and the man known as Tsu'tey walking towards us. Lowering my gaze, I lean towards Jake and whisper to him, "Now, try not to be an idiot and keep your mouth shut when they walk in."
Jake rolls his eyes before looking at the two warriors as they walked into the area. I glance up at the two with a small frown on my face. They both look at me and Jake for a second with guarded looks on their face. The Olo'eyktan soon shifts his gaze over to Mo'at with a knowing look on his face as he tilts his head slightly towards the entrance. She nods her head in return before standing up. Mo'at affectionately brushes some hair out of Neytiri's face with a smile. Then she turned to me and softly pats my head before walking down the tree with her mate.
Once they leave, I look back at Tsu'tey to see him already giving me a small glare. I give him an awkward smile which only makes him scowl even more. "Demon," was all he said before looking back at Jake with an even deeper scowl.
"Hey there buddy boy," Jake playfully quips back as he begins trying to wipe off some of the mud on his chest with his bare hands. Though he didn't do much other than just smear the mud around as he smiled like an idiot.
"Accident," he continued to scowl as he looked Jake over. Clearly unammused by Jake's joking attitude.
"Aw. I think he likes you Jake. You should give him a big hug to become friends." I have a grin on my face as I look between the two men. Taking notice of how Neytiri looked shocked by my suggestion one time as I glanced towards Jake.
"He raises a hand towards me, I will cut him," Tsu'tey speaks in a menacing way as he glared at me.
"I know," I laugh a little as I stare straight back at him. Biting my lip as I try not to grin like an idiot at the shocked look on Tsu'tey's face.
"Okay, (Y/n). Reel in the manic for a minute. I think you're freaking them out with your humanly sense of humor." Jake slightly pushes my head in order to bring me back to the moment.
I roll my eyes with a small pout before picking up another piece of fruit from the forgotten basket. Popping it in my mouth and slowly chewing. Looking at the woven floor as I finally mumble something pointed towards Jake, "Virgin."
"What did it call me?!" My eyes widen as Tsu'tey reaches down and grabbed ahold of the front of my shirt. A small scream coming out of my mouth as Jake and Neytiri both shoot up from their spots. Both trying their hardest to get between us and remove me from his grasp.
It had been a little over a month since Jake and I had gotten to Hometree. He had been training hard as a warrior while I learned more about the plant life from the clan healers. Everything was going well for us as time went on, despite the bad start that I had with Tsu'tey. Though he seemed to be convinced that I was in fact talking about Jake and not him after I explained a few human customs that were common among friends.
Jake even had enough approval within the clan that he was able to get Grace to be able to visit. She was shocked about the fact that I hadn't been wearing my mask since we had gotten there. But she was very happy that I was thriving in the environment like she had always wanted for me. She even told me that in another month, I might finally have a viable Avatar to use if I still wanted it even though I apparently could live without it.
But living amongst the Na'vi didn't mean that everything from my life before them stopped. Especially with my unique genetic makeup.
I went over to Jake as he ate breakfast with Neytiri and Tsu'tey. He looked over at me with a smile as I nervously sat down near the group. "Well good morning. You normally don't come and join our group until it's around time for lunch."
I fidget with my fingers as I look at the group, glancing at everyone until I focus on Jake again. "I need your help with something. And I'm only asking because your a good friend and I have to do this today."
Jake's expression becomes serious as he looks over at Neytiri and Tsu'tey. They both appear confused as well when they look at me for an explanation.
I look down at the ground as I bite my lip. My face heating up as I quickly tell them what was wrong. "I'm molting."
"That's it?" Jake seems in disbelief at what I told him. He even laughed a little as he leaned closer to try and get me to look at him again. "That's not too big of a deal. I'm sure you'll be okay."
I glare up at him as I stare him down. Taking a deep breath as I begin to further explain to him the situation. "It is a big deal. I can molt for multiple days sometimes, but I need to get as much taken care of the first day. If not, I could get infections and intense back pains that could last for months. And that's on top of the pain I can normally feel due to having wings."
The smile on his face faded away as I kept talking. His eyes becoming apologetic as he let's out a sigh. "I didn't know it was that big of a deal. Are you sure it has to be today?"
"I'm very sure. Once when I was in high school, I waited two days because I had to focus on studying for some stupid geometry final. When I finally got it taken care of, over half my feathers were gone, molted and perfectly healthy ones. It took months for them all to grow back and I couldn't even sit up in my bed without having someone help me for weeks."
Jake nods his head a little with a serious look in his eyes. "Tell me what you need help with."
"Thank you," I softly mumble as I sit with my back facing him. Slightly spreading my wings for him to have an easier time with helping me. I take a deep breath as I begin to lightly guide my fingers through the feathers. "You just basically brush them with your fingers and let the bad ones fall out. If there are any that are loose but not coming out yet, leave them be. They probably just need a little time to be ready."
It took a few moments, but I finally felt Jake start to work on the back of my wings. I could tell he was hesitant to do it because he didn't want to cause me any pain. As the time went on and I didn't tell him that it was hurting, he began to get a little more confident with each movement.
There was a decent amount of feathers laying around me when I took a small break to look around. Stopping my gaze when I noticed a group of children looking over at me from around a corner a little ways from us. Most of them a little older with what seemed to be their younger siblings. They kept pointing as they whispered to one another. But one little girl stood out as she just stared in awe while looking between the pile of feather and my face.
I smiled a little as I reached my hand out, gesturing for her to come closer. She seemed a little taken aback by my action, but soon smiled as she quickly walked over. She immediately sat down beside me, leaning against my body as she excitedly reached a hand up to touch one of my horns.
"Aen'ya!" Neytiri trys to scold the girl, but I raise my hand to let her know it was fine. Neytiri looked at me with a sympathetic like look. "She is very trusting. But she also still needs to learn to keep her space."
"She's okay. Kids back on Earth would do the same thing. I'm just glad one of the children is doing something other than just pointing from a distance." I smile at Aen'ya as I speak, happy to be a part of her child like excitement. I gently take her hand and she looks spooked by the contact. But she keeps smiling as I move her to sit on one of my legs and hand her some of my discarded feathers.
As she takes them out of my hand, I look back at the small group to see them all looking back in awe. I wave my hand at them to come join as Aen'ya starts to randomly place feathers into my hair. A few of them start to laugh as the excitedly push each other closer as a couple others run off in the opposite direction.
Soon the group comes and sits down closer by as they lightly reach out and touch my wings. They are extra gentle as they laugh with each little handful of fluff they managed to pull out. By the time they have their own little piles, the others that had run off return with their arms full of strings and a couple of baskets full of other little supplies to do whatever they had planned. Passing everything around as a few of them began to hold up a combination of beads they had to my skin with little giggles.
"Wow. You look like you got dragged into a second grade art class," Jake lightly snickered as he leaned back into his original spot once the kids took over for him to get a couple more feathers.
I make a face at him which causes the children to start laughing. But the seem to take his words as an invitation, because a couple of them grab his arms and pull him to sit on the ground. A couple even go the extra mile and do the same thing with Neytiri and Tsu'tey. Neytiri seemed happy with it as she began to help them with what they each were making. Tsu'tey most just sat there with a soft scowl on his face, but he would pay attention to any of the children if they held up something for him to look over.
We all just sit there laughing with one another as the children continue to work on their projects. But soon one of the boys grabs my arm to hold it still as two girls begin tying something around my bicep. I look at it confused until I realized that they had made me an accessory with beads and a couple of my feathers hanging down. Then a few others do the same thing as they tie an anklet on me with wide grins.
I take a look at both pieces of jewelry to see just how uniquely beautiful they were. Smiling as I open my arms out to pull each of them into a hug as a thank you. They all laugh as they begin to lean into my arms for one big hug.
A warm feeling came into my chest as I just held all the children close to me. Staring at each of them as a sense of peace washes over me. Similar to the feeling I had when I watched the movies when I was young. The feeling that I had finally found the place that I truly belong.
~~~
Hi everyone! I hope you enjoyed this little installment. I'm glad for my first request and I'm going to start working on a few other add ons for Silent Treatment and Aggressive Caregiver (I need a masterlist at some point). But have a good day and remember; We are bad bitches, and bad bitches follow boycotting to the fullest. Don't actively give any money to Disney for anything. We're smart and kind people who were raised on revolutions that Disney wrote. I'm sure we can pirate movies from someplace or have the DVDs for the movies. Do your part as best you can. I love you all and stay happy for the year to come.
Missed the blorbos so made up a late night convo 🥺 This is very early on in Quaritch and Spider's dynamic, possibly the first night they spent in the forest together.
Words: 1,723
Read under the cut or read on AO3 💞💙💞💙
The boy sat lonesomely at the edge of the fire. It was almost enough to make Quaritch feel sorry for him. The rest of the Colonel’s squad were dispersed around the campsite - some setting up comfortable sleeping areas or tapping away on their holopads, but most were congregated around the flames, enjoying a card game or sharing stories. The reflection of the fire in their dark pupils highlighted something deep and dark that Quaritch couldn’t quite put his finger on. Since returning to this life as recombinants, something inside each and everyone of them had changed. Fundamentally they were all different people.
Even Spider. He was no longer the baby that Quaritch remembered with such mixed emotions, but he was still capable of eliciting the same confusing feelings as he had when he was small enough to fit into the palm of Quaritch’s hand. Currently, the teenager looked deep in thought, his chin resting atop his folded up knees, the firelight dancing in the reflection of his mask. He’d been sitting like that for an hour or more, refusing to interact with anyone in the squad.
They’d left him alone, mostly, preferring to let Quaritch himself deal with the kid. Quaritch didn’t know why they seemed wary of interacting with him. It was almost like they were afraid of stepping on Quaritch’s toes. He took a deep sigh, deciding that enough was enough.
Spider didn’t shift as Quaritch approached. He didn’t even look at him. The recom took a seat on the soft ground next to the boy, bracing himself for whatever kind of pissy attitude he was about to mop up.
“You a selective mute or somethin'?”
Spider continued staring forward, although he made half an attempt at a flat eyeroll.
“Ah, you got a lot on your mind,” Quaritch waved a hand in sympathy, speaking as if Spider had just given a full verbal response. He glanced sideways at the boy in time to see Spider chewing the inside of his mouth. The expression was so reminiscent of Paz that for a second Quaritch just stared. Eventually he looked away and let the silence stretch on, trying to think of something else to say. “You gonna sit here feeling sorry for yourself all night, kid?”
Spider closed his eyes in a way that could only be described as condescending.
“You ain’t gonna accomplish anything like this, you know.”
Irritation flickered across Spider’s face. Success.
“You may as well join the circle,” Quaritch pressed in an overly optimistic voice. “Get to know some folks.”
“Why would I want to do that?”
Quarich’s heart sang. He shrugged. “I guess you wouldn’t. But it beats sitting here like a depressed loner.”
“I’ll take depressed loner over a traitor to my people any day, thanks.”
Quaritch let out a low whistle. “Damn, kid. You got some heart. But it ain’t all that. You’re just less likely to be eaten by a wolf if you’re closer to us.”
Finally, Spider turned to him, anger folded into every crease of his face. “You know nothing.”
That stumped Quaritch. He flexed his jaw. “They not in these parts then?”
Spider let out a dry laugh, but didn’t elaborate.
Quaritch was starting to get frustrated. Spider was just a little shit after all. He forced himself to remember that Spider was under a lot of stress, and that he didn’t fully trust the recoms yet. For all the kid knew, they’d abandon him to the wildlife or throw him back in a cell without a second thought.
“You’re feeling it right now, I get it. But come into the circle where I can at least keep an eye on you.”
“Why do you care what happens to me?”
Quaritch frowned. He thought Spider at least remembered the part where he’d pulled him from the neuroscanner. The kid had been out of it, but he must have remembered that it was Quaritch’s arms that carried him back to the cell? He sniffed. “It looks bad on my report, kid. Can’t have people thinking I can’t look after one moody teenager in the field, no matter how obstinate.”
“Your job is not to look after me.”
The confidence with which Spider said the words triggered something… sad inside Quaritch. It was clear the boy didn’t believe Quaritch had a shred of concern for him. “My job is to keep you safe so you can help us. That means protecting you.”
Spider muttered something under his breath - but Quaritch suspected it was Na’vi.
“What was that?”
“You have no idea what you’re talking about!”
Spider had turned back to face Quaritch, but the furious expression on his face was water off a duck’s back to the Colonel. “Explain then. You don’t need protection?”
“Faysawtute! Protection from what? From my home? My people?”
Your people? “Pandora’s no place for a kid, Spider.”
Spider made an incredulous gesture, looking around at the forest which had come alive at night. “You have eyes, but you don’t see,” was all he said.
…Right. Quaritch had had enough of playing nice. “Get your ass closer to camp or I’ll drag you myself.”
Spider was clearly fuming, because he balled his fists and then carefully unclenched them, his jaw set and his eyes deep with mutinous thoughts. Quaritch watched the bioluminescence of the moss fade where Spider had been sitting, and immediately missed the boy’s presence, despite Spider doing what he was told. He watched the kid move closer to the campsite, although it still wasn’t quite close enough for Quaritch to be truly satisfied.
It would have to do.
He’d had to seriously consider what he’d do if Spider made a run for it in the night. He suspected the boy could be plotting something, but the type of resentment Spider was currently displaying put Quaritch strangely at ease. It was as if the boy had accepted his fate. Spider was smart after all - he knew that running would achieve nothing.
After a moment, Quaritch pushed himself off the ground and followed Spider back over to the camp. He took a seat next to Wainfleet on a fallen log, making sure the sulking teenager was in his line of sight.
For the rest of the evening, Spider remained distant and solitary, facing away from him and curling up under some kind of giant, glowing mushroom. The sight was so ridiculous it reminded Quaritch of a scene from a fairytale. Only after the final embers had died and ninety percent of the squad had clocked off for the night did Quaritch approach Spider again. Half of him wanted to check if Spider was asleep, the other half was secretly hoping for another chance at conversation.
Quaritch stretched widely and approached Spider’s spot cautiously. If Spider was asleep, he didn’t want to wake him. However quietly he thought he was being, it wasn’t enough. Spider’s head snapped around his body tensed, searching for the source of danger.
“Easy tiger, it’s only me,” Quaritch reassured.
“What do you want now?” Spider half sat up, the soft hissing of his exopack the only sounds in the vicinity. Above them, the faint light from Polyphemus shone delicately through the canopy. This moon didn’t seem to know true darkness. It was amazing that the boy was able to sleep properly. Then again, Spider had never experienced a truly black night, so he had nothing to compare it to.
“Just checking up on you,” Quaritch mumbled.
“I still have two arms and two legs if that’s what you’re worried about. Haven’t been dragged off by nantang yet.”
Spider was almost endearing when he was trying to sound tough. Quaritch chuckled. “You be sure to let me know if they grab you in the night.”
“Have you ever considered that they’d more likely go for you? They’re smart.”
Quaritch wrinkled his nose playfully. “Nah, I’m too old and bitter.” And I’m fully armed with over 30 years of combat training and field experience.
Spider turned over fully now, so he was facing Quaritch properly. Confusion flickered across his features. “How old are you?” he asked.
Quaritch had to stop and think for a moment. “You’re gonna need to clarify the question, kid. I’m no philosopher.”
“Your body,” Spider emphasised. “When did they start growing you?”
Quaritch couldn’t help the involuntary flinch that overtook his shoulders. He desperately hoped Spider hadn’t noticed. This was still a weird topic. “Twenty years young.”
“You’re literally only a few years older than me.”
“Bullshit. I’m fifty one.”
Spider frowned. “So old, yet still so dumb.”
Quaritch took a risk. He extended his hand and shoved Spider in what he hoped was a playful way. “Did anyone ever tell you you’re a little shit?”
Spider didn’t even flinch. “All the time. Do better.”
Okay, Quaritch could play this game. “You’re a rude, bratty, hormonal teenager.”
“I am not fucking hormonal!”
“Who knows how this planet’s affected you.”
Spider was looking at him like Quaritch had just announced he was going to start classical ballet. “I’m bigger and healthier than other Sky People kids.”
Quaritch pulled a sarcastic expression. He could practically see Spider’s hackles rise. “Eh. You still got some growing to do.”
Spider’s face grew serious, as if he remembered where he was, and who he was talking to. “Leave me alone and I can get on with it then.”
He’d blown it. Spider turned away from him and returned to his fetal position on the floor, back to Quaritch. Still, they’d managed to have a half decent conversation and that was progress. Something kept Quaritch crouched on the ground, but he knew it was his cue to go. He reached out a hand and did something he’d never done before. He ruffled the kid’s hair.
Spider squirmed away from him, but didn’t say anything.
Quaritch took it as a win.
When he returned to his pack a few yards away to finally get some shut eye, he couldn’t help but watch Spider’s sleeping form long into the night. He told himself he just needed to make sure the kid wouldn’t attempt a jailbreak. He told himself he was watching out for predators or God knows what kind of poisonous bugs Pandora harboured, despite Wainfleet standing duty. He would never be able to accept that maybe, just maybe, he was fascinated by the child that his previous life had borne.
