Man do you ever just think about how.... hardenshipping was ALWAYS going to be the natural conclusion of the game from the moment they sat down and decided that the gimmick of the region was going to have two warring teams.
Like hardenshipping has some sort of pre-baked, innate canonicity with the way that Pokemon games always resolve themselves. Especially as it pertains to the way the Hoenn region was designed.
What I mean by this is,
In Pokemon, the lesson is always "working together makes us stronger." It is always about the power of friendship, it is always about found families, it is always about settling differences with love etc etc etc. Except. This is on STEROIDS in the Hoenn region because this is a theme and a message that was deliberately sought out when they designed the game.
The Hoenn region is a region of duality. It is all about opposites and counterbalance. The names of the cities are mostly two words put together as opposed to color names in the past. Team Aqua and Team Magma. Groudon and Kyogre. Plusle and Minun. Latios and Latias. Solrock and Lunatone. Zangoose and Seviper. Volbeat and Illumise. How Wurmple can evolve into either Silcoon or Cascoon. How Clamperl can evolve into either Huntail or Gorebyss, making both of those sets of Pokemon counterparts to one another.
The REGION itself is split almost evenly in physical makeup between land and water. Which is what made it seem like there was a shit ton of water because there was. There has never been as much water in a Pokemon game as there was in Hoenn, and it was because they were physically trying to balance the water and the land. There's a giant uninhabitable volcano in the center of the region perfectly counterbalanced on the map by a giant, habitable crater in the center of the ocean. Complements and counterparts color the entire region, often quite literally in red and blue. Like almost anywhere you look in Hoenn, it is ideologically (and sometimes physically) symmetrical in design.
The name of the region comes from love and relationships, for god's sake.
And so then you have the Hoenn region, named after a word that literally means love and relationships, being themed around this very concept, in a game series that ALREADY focuses on those things. As like. The core component of the franchise.
So the Hoenn region has "the power of love and friendship" on fucking STEROIDS.
And they DOUBLE and TRIPLE down on this metaphor that they already did not need to double and triple down on in the remakes with the inclusion of the "Hoenn Rangers Coexistence Force," whose sole existence seems only to be to call out Archie and Maxie specifically, as they are about promoting the peaceful coexistence of people, nature, and pokemon. Blatant passive-aggressive reference to Archie and Maxie, who are locked in some sort of odd, eco-ideological warfare with each other playing out over the large-scale arena of the entire fucking region.
And the fact that they canon used to be on a team together and clearly split due to their differences (you know. Like how a lot of these region's Pokemon have split evolutions and counterparts etc etc etc).
The Hoenn region is rife with all this fucking duality.
And so, naturally, the Pokemon plot does what Pokemon plots do, and uses like a 12 year old child to tell our bad guys that the power of love and friendship is actually all they need.
And for the most part, in most games, that would be where it would end. The villain and the evil team fades off into obscurity, after they learned their lesson.
Except, Archie and Maxie don't have that option. Because they have each other.
Team Rocket, while still technically present, disappears from the game after you beat them. Cyrus disappears. Ghetsis disappears. Colress just fucking hangs out with you, kind of. Lysander disappears. Lusamine disappears. I don't fucking know what Rose does but god in hell I'm sure he doesn't contribute anything meaningful. Turo and Sada go off to a different fucking reality altogether.
All of the other villains disappear because they have learned their lesson. What are they going to do? Be besties with the player in the post game? Colress is the only one who gets remotely close to this, and he's locked on a little ship in one area once you beat the game. These individual leaders rightfully learn their lesson, rightfully go off on their own to reflect and grow or go to prison or die, and we just assume that because we beat them, that's the end. There is nothing more for them to resolve, because they have resolved their conflict with us.
But not Archie and Maxie. Because Archie and Maxie's main point of conflict was not with you. It was with each other.
ALL of the other villains have NO ONE to amend with once you finish the main line story of the game, because they have already ended the conflict with you. Therefore, in all other iterations of them that exist (for example, in Masters) they can just be "Ho ho ho I am GenericEvilTeamLeader" who did a bad thing.
But not Archie and Maxie. Because Archie and Maxie were depicted having their main conflict with each other, and not you, any piece of media that wishes to depict them post-events of their games (aka, post their lessons-learned) MUST depict them together. In order to demonstrate that they have taken this lesson about the "true power of friendship" to heart, we must see them putting that into practice.
And due to the nature of Hoenn being about coexistence, natural complements, and duality, Archie and Maxie must then conclude to work together and harmonize with one another just as their opposing elements do, just as the entire rest of their fucking region does. They are the living embodiments of the inner conflict, the duality and complement and turmoil and harmony that the entire region of Hoenn was built upon.
And THIS is why, to this day, in the year of our good Groudon 2023, we are STILL getting new content of them being so close to one another. Why Pokemon Masters has just basically become Hardenshipping Truthers DLC. Because now, in order to demonstrate that Archie and Maxie have taken some semblance of their lesson to heart, they must be depicted working together. As they were always created to do.
Archie and Maxie were created to be at war with one another, but this was because they were also created to learn the lesson that they must work with one another, because that is the lesson of Hoenn, and that is the lesson of Pokemon as a whole.
So from the very moment the devs sat down and said "we are going to make two warring teams," Archie and Maxie's destinies were invariably linked together, and basically hardenshipping content was always going to be the natural conclusion of that.
They really invented gay people with this one. I just..,,
*slaps Hoenn region* this bad boy can fit so much fucking symbolism in it

So ironically your care tips for serviper inspired me to look into getting a zangoose any tips? mainly I want to know about any potential conflicts with other mons as when I try to look into that all i find is stuff about serviper and zangoose
General notes: The Zangoose is a hot blooded pokemon and can be quite reactive, but has a good reputation for being healthy and sturdy, and can be quite loyal.
General care: Zangoose are obligate carnivores, and have a strong prey drive. Care needs to be taken around small prey pokemon, particularly though with quick or jerky movements.
Though they can be quite active, particularly at night, zangoose may sleep up to 15 hours a day, and need quiet, dark resting spots to simulate burrows.
Zangoose sharpen their claws often, and good quality scratching posts or logs are VITAL. Otherwise they will turn to your furniture.
Zangoose have powerful immune systems and a near total immunity to poison. It's rare for these to show up at pokemon centres for anything other than battling injuries. These are not fussy and delicate creatures and they may try and eat carrion if not stopped. But don't fret too badly if they get into something they shouldn't. Zangoose are TOUGH. Care rating: Green
Training: Zangoose train well, and are pretty smart. They can be easily aggravated, and lose their cool. If they're getting frustrated, it's best to stop training for the day and do something calming. Zangoose seem to enjoy calming rhythmic motions, like watching the ocean or listening to wind in trees, and this is a good way to cool them off.
This line is very agile, and they LOVE agility training. Agility contests are becoming quite popular, and zangoose tend to hold most of the records.
Any and all training WILL go out the window if it catches wind of a seviper. Be on the lookout for sudden bristling of the fur and a sudden switch from its usual quadrupedal gait to a bipedal stance. Pokeball it IMMEDIATELY and leave the area. Though the venom can't hurt it, seviper have long fangs and a sharp bladed tail. Both of these pokemon can do SERIOUS damage to each other.
Because this behaviour cannot be trained out of them, they get a slightly higher ranking than they otherwise would get, as you can't afford to let your guard down. Training rating: Orange
Safety: Zangoose are surprisingly careful when they don't detect any seviper nearby, and are quite aware of where their claws are. Though I wouldn't leave toddlers and babies unsupervised, they seem to understand that children can be bothersome, and have a fair amount of patience. Though this is likely due to the fact zangoose kits are extremely loud, bitey and chaotic for their poor mothers. Even so, it's best to make sure you're always in the room with them.
Zangoose can be nippy when pressed, but they have quite strong tells when their temper is flaring up, flaring their hackles and emitting a low guttural hiss when annoyed. Quite frankly, a failure to give them space when they're being so unambiguously clear...
Well, that's on you.
Having said that, the absolute last place I would want to be is between a zangoose and a seviper if they spot each other. That's not something you can stop or train out of them. No amount of giving your zangoose space will stop it killing the local gym leaders ace for the crime of sunning itself in the park. Safety rating: Orange
Overall ranking. Though it can be somewhat testy, a well trained zangoose is a good fighter with relatively few needs beyond good food, exercise and a warm place to sleep. But the fact that you need to be constantly alert to avoid a bloody and brutal fight makes this a somewhat nerve wracking pokemon.

Have you ever tried thinking about what a "canon"-esque team for Wes and Michael would be? I mean that, what feels like a team an official adaptation of these games would go for. In my opinion for instance, I think Michael would use the Zangoose snagged from Zook since its semi-plot relevant, as well as Eldes' Shadow Salamence for the one battle left after it. You could either make him pick an eeveelution (I'd suggest flareon or jolteon aesthetically) or going with the beta starters of Vaporeon and Jolteon. Wes' would entirely depend on if you think using the legendary beasts is fair game lmao
Ah nah. I know some people try to make a "canon" team for trainers. But "canon" and stories in Pokémon games don't really mix. All versions of a game are true and they happened in their own universes. Every possible way a game was played is real and has already been done before you've even thought about it.
I believe in the definite fact that Michael snagged and purified every shadow pokemon. I also believe that Michael traded his Togepi back to Hordel for his Elekid named Zaprong, but I know some may opt not to do that. So whether or not he actually gave Togepi back it really doesn't matter cause he has and hasn't at the same time.
Now, there is an exception to that rule for my personal bias. It's canon that Michael is a good kid with a big heart and loves his Pokemon and family very much. So that scenario where he releases his Eevee to see the eeveelution captain's other dialogue is completely unlike Michael. And I don't believe he would release any of his Pokemon ever. I refuse to believe that anything that would be uncharacterstic of Michael are canon and part of the multiverse in any way.
Hypothetically speaking, referring to the story of Pokemon Masters EX, if Hoopa were to drag a Pokemon Character out of the infinite universal contexts represented by how their game could be played, Hoopa would never drag Michael from the universe where he releases his Eevee, but he could take him from the universe where he kept the Togepi and not give it back to Hordel, since I remember Hordel being a somewhat okay with Michael keeping Togepi. (Correct me if I'm wrong)
I believe that every possible universe is canon, but there are limits because the constant is Michael is a good boi. The variable is how the player plays the game. The multiverse of a game can be determined by the infinite possibilities of play, but only the reasonable universes that don't betray Michael's character should be canon.
And same goes for Wes, obviously. Anyone who releases Espeon, Umbreon, or Plusle outright assassinates Wes's character.
And you know, by extension, I'd say that also goes for the main-series games too. If Pokemas Hoopa ever dragged a protag from their universe, it would have to be a universe where they kept their starter all the way to the end of their story, or at least up until the point they were warped to Pasio.
In certain media I've seen Michael officially matched with Flareon and Jolteon in two different universes. I've never played through the game with Flareon nor Vaporeon so my bias tells me it would be Jolteon (at least it matches Michal's jacket aesthetically, I agree Flareon suits him too.)
Tumblr media
Beyond that it's a toss up between all of the Shadow Pokemon and a few Pokespot Pokemon. At the end game he might opt to have tanky Shadow Pokemon like Snorlax. He might have an Aggron from evolving an Aron from the Cave Pokespot. He could have a Walrein from one of the Hexagon Bros's Shadow Spheal. He could have kept Teddiursa and evolved it into Ursuring. It's so hard to make a canon team without that bias you know?
As for Wes, as you know, he'd probably keep one of the Johto starters from either Bluno/Verde/Rosso and his two starter eeveelutions. Depending on which Johto starter, he'd keep Entei/Suicune/Raikou respectively. Hitmontop is a favorite. And last one, a Flygon, another favorite.
Scrolling back up to read your question, I see for an "official adaptation" I agree that Zangoose could be plot relevant. Though the one time you get to snag Zangoose is the last time you see Zook. Unless some liberties were taken with the game's story I can't see Zangoose becoming a main-stay for some rivalry with Zook. Miror B. is a better rival than Zook, and Lovrina along with other Cipher admins (excluding Ardos) have a character arc of starting out as enemies and accepting him as a friend by the end of the post-game so Shadow Pokemon belonging to them might be something to toy with for a rival thing. Zook is just a meat head masculine macho mohawk dukey-nukey wannabe who's more of a joke jerk character for how nothing goes his way after bumping into Jovi at Gateon Port. They'd have to do a bit more like how they developed Team Rocket (Jesse, James, Meowth) for the anime and how they're pretty much loved by everyone despite being the bad guys.
What I wouldn't give for an official anime adaptation, but alas all we have are obscure game walkthrough manga that few have seen and have (but I believe more should see and have)

nobody asked for it, but I have provided <3
Pokémon teams for the tmc guys :D
Starting just with the victims, if people are keen on seeing the rest of the cast I’ll post them too !! I could give them monotype teams, and there are certainly types that show up more for certain characters, but I like themed ones better because they can be more personalized yaknow?
Mark (ghost type trainer): Silvally is his ace, because out of all of the victims I think Mark needs a protective ally. Phantump, which is the wandering spirit of a child and that’s almost a little too on the nose. Dusknoir, protector and guider of spirits. Mimikyu, for the ghosty energy and also to reference the scary night childlike drawing style! Rotom, who I want to believe was given to him by Dave when he got into cameras! And for strictly selfish reasons, cresselia, the Pokémon responsible for good dreams. Good things only for mark alright. A more canon friendly pick could be Luxray for the electricity/light spectrum motif, but I prefer the Cresselia angle.
Cesar (flying type trainer): I’ll be honest, I had a hard time with Cesar, so he has fewer picks compared to the others :( His ace is gliscor, the nocturnal hunter angle is more interesting than just another dark type user lol. Pre-alternate cesar would have a Togekiss, I always thought they looked kind of cherubic and it would make sense if alt-cesar couldn’t properly use the Togekiss because of the whole,, Satan thing. Corviknight I think works well for a darker aesthetic but still a protective Pokémon, I’d like to think Cesar is still out there trying to find and protect Mark. Roserade, for the ~iconic~ suit and the general design of the face works well for the way I draw alt!cesar. Let me know if you have any suggestions for other Pokémon for Cesar !! I’d love to hear them, I was kind of grasping at straws for him haha
Adam (dark type trainer): His ace is Zangoose! The connection to snakes, the edgelord aesthetic, it all works so well. Flapple, for the apple gremlin himself. Absol, though I’m not certain if Adam follows disaster or if it follows him. Litten, a silly cat alternate. Zoroark, matches the aesthetic and the image replication I think works for Adam best. And lastly Staraptor, starlings have biblical significance about unity, and I’d like to think him and Jonah caught their staraptors together :D
Jonah (couldn’t think of a single type.. maybe normal/dark?): I think Jonah’s ace would be Obstagoon. Loud and a little too brash, plus a sick punk aesthetic. Perrserker, another cat alternate reference but more scrungly. Bewear just works okay, I feel no need to elaborate further /lh. I’m pretty firm on no pangoro, mostly because I think that pancham just fits a lot better, so I think that it would be cool if he has a pancham that evolves when he meets Adam/joins BPS. Croagunk, look at those eyes and tell me he’s not off his head lmao. And staraptor to match with Adam!

Sketchiest doodles-
While I was away I was mostly playing Pokemon and I raised a TANK of a Slowbro (That I named Roze after my Slowpoke character) and thats all good and well but in Refresh.... if Slowbro is sleeping the Shelldar evo will chomp down super hard on his tail... its a little upsetting. Not to mention how long it took to get the right Slowpoke I needed in the first place. Now I have to sit and watch him get bullied?
Anyways. Im giving Doc a shitty Cloyster boyfriend because of it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rivers might be an animal but he doesnt bully Slowpoke.
Speaking of just adding things that dont really matter I also took hours trying to find an Infiltrator Zubat so I could breed it with a Braviary so my Crobat could have Brave Bird... so I also came up with a backstory for my Crobat character Sundown.
But honestly it took me so long to find an Infiltrator Zubat... I ran into 4 shiny Zubats... one of which I was so mad at I killed cuz it was male but that was the run where I did get my Infiltrator so... Sacrifices needed to be made I guess. Then it took me forever to get a Jolly Zubat with Infiltrator with Brave Bird... It was a whole ordeal... I took it out on Maffeo.
I also thought I could breed my Infiltrator Noivern with a female Zubat because the breed would be Zubat and I thought maybe the ability could pass down but after getting 1 egg I was like ‘theres no way because then Starters could get their abilities easily ya?‘ and stopped... but the Zubat egg I hatched was a shiny so I also gave my Noivern character a daughter whos a shiny Zubat.
Tumblr media
Maffeos ‘dad‘ was quite mean to him... (Maffeos mom is actually a Mandibuzz so obviously Maffeo is a little sus)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After Maffeo ran away from home when he was little he didnt learn to fly until he met two friendly Charizard. Their wings are similar so they fly similarly... unlike with bird wings.

I love people who name their Pokemon the most out-there names and you can tell the Pokemon is absolutely fine with it. Those people always leave you with funny memories.
Darmanitan named Muffin, liked iced coffee.
Sizzlipede named Big Mike, refused to evolve, trainer was fine with it dw.
Zangoose legally named Jerry, only responded to Sir Gerald Redmane The Third outside of battle.

Alternative ending to your previous angst post where the MC doesn't step away from the paralyzing fog ? :zangoose:
Of course thunder </3 from this post
“Love-”
Y whips around, purple smoke billowing from their shoulders, snaking across the grass menacingly. “Do. Not. Call. Me. That. You reserve no right to it. I can hardly believe you know what love even means. Though I see you love yourself enough to kill innocents over your delusions of danger.”
In their emotional turmoil, MC made a fatal mistake. Ignoring the power Y held because surely despite their anger, their lover would never hurt them.
That's why when their limbs lock up and their control fades, they simply stare in astonishment. "Y, release me." MC demands through gritted teeth.
Y barks out a venomous laugh, stepping closer as the world seems to shift around MC, their vision wobbling and the red of the blood spilled looked... too vibrant. "Now, why would I do that, MC? My gravest mistake was to ever let you near, I won't follow it up by letting you go. Not when you cost me one of the most important people in my life. Do not tell me it was necessary again or you will find that you've swallowed your tongue." They warned when MC opened their mouth to speak. When they're close enough, they tilt MC's face to the side so they have no choice but to look at the increasingly wrong world around them. "Now I simply don't know if I should end this all now or let M have a go at you."

Plot Recap: Timeline
This is the plot so far put in timeline order. The blog jumps around a bit so I figured I would put the events in order here.
(note that P.'s gender/pronouns changed a bit after I started the blog so the earlier posts misgender them [he/him instead of they/them]- for now the posted are not edited, but if this is something that bothers you, I can try to edit in the right pronouns)
Tumblr media
Flashback: 216
216 has some sort of nightmare
[216 doesn't have a name but does have a name in mind]
216 is being watched/monitored. [He seems to be aware of other worlds, but does not know what a pokemon is. He does know what a cat is.]
216 elaborates on other worlds.
Flashback: Eloi and Belrus
*(Happens right before Book II)
Eloi is making breakfast for a child that he does not know, and is very curious about them- he wants to ask them about a letter [but notices that they talk a strange language in their sleep]
Eloi seems to be affected by some mark on his arm, but won't admit anything is wrong to Belrus, the Mew staying with him
Belrus says he feels guilty about things he's done, especially when Eloi's mark acts up
Belrus says whatever he did to get Eloi the mark was his only choice. He explains that the mark is like marking a target.
The mark acting up is painful for Eloi. Belrus says that it acts up more the longer Eloi is here. Belrus elaborates that the mark is a beacon and tries to remove the anomaly.
[Eloi was once an elite 4 member and a shiny hunter, but he and his team retired early and now help injured and sick pokemon out of their home]
[Eloi tells a story that may hit close to home?]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Castaway
Sebastian comes across an unconscious person washed up on a beach somewhere in Alola
[Sebastian lives in a cave alone] and takes the person into his home to help them recover
The person, P., eventually wakes up
[P. seems to be wary of humans, they always ask them to leave after they answer the questions]
Sebastian decides to ask a friend (later revealed to be Dana) for help with his guest
P. briefly mentions their loss of a shoe (that they say they need to go places). They also say they are being reminded of things that they wish they could forget
P. says that their memory is a bit jumbled and that a chunk of their memory appears to be gone. They say the last thing they remember is the arena. P. then gets scared of Celosia and asks something in a strange language, saying things like "I don't want to go".
[P. says their hair wasn't something they were born with, but isn't dyed either]. They briefly mention their only human friend they love, Eloi, and they are suddenly terrified that they have no idea if Eloi is okay
[P. always wears layered clothes, has met 2 mews and...??]
[P. tells a messy story that might hit close to home]
8, Dana and Sebastian all arrive at a sleepover party
[Dana mentions an interest in medicine]
8 says that she is looking for a dangerous creature that was last seen on Duel Island, she asks to be told if you know anything about it, as it's for the safety of everyone.
[Dana has nightmares about the one she couldn't help]
Sebastian meets up with Dana and he worriedly tells her about P., hinting at some previous incident. They leave the event to go see P.
8 leaves the event and reports to/calls someone. She says there are no traces of 5 and blames 4 for it. She wants everything to be left to her, apparently this doesn't happen. She ends the call and begins to wreck havoc. It is revealed she is not human. Or at least...not completely...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Outside Canon Events:
(Whatever is in this section does not fit in the timeline, but does say something at least somewhat important)
4 was briefly introduced. He says he was a Zangoose? He seems rather mean.
P. knows 5 languages. (I counted wrong in the post and cant edit it??) Their native language is very different from other languages, so they answer a bit slowly.
[Sebastian, Dana and Belrus all have wildly different reactions to becoming human]

i've been playing pokemon lately which has stirred up the urge to list what teams/type specialty that some warrior cats would have Don't expect this to be well organized im just slapping my ideas on the keyboard These aren't actually full teams, more so who I think would be each character's closest Pokemon this also doesn't follow any strict region
Firestar- Fire types (duh) and I'm thinking he would have a growlithe and then get a charmander as his apprentice-starter
Sandstorm- Ground types,,Excadrill & Sandshrew
Graystripe- Normal types, he has a Snorlax & a Zangoose
Ravenpaw- He doesn't specialize in any (maybe due to him leaving) but Ghost types like to stick around him
Bluestar- She definitely has many ice types I just don't know who
Lionheart & Goldenflower r the rock type-sibling duo (again don't know the specific pokemon)
Whitestorm's specialty are Dragon types & Redtail's are Steel
I can't settle on a single type for Tigerstar so I think he'd just catch whatever strong Pokemon he finds. His starter was also a Charmander which is now a Charizard and he can Mega-Evolve it He also has a Krookodile
Spottedleaf works well with Psychic & Grass-I really love the idea of her having a Hatterene
Darkstripe has...Dark Types but he has one Serviper
Also each clan has at least one type of Pokemon in their "region"- Thunderclan has Bug types, Riverclan Water, Windclan...not too sure I guess either Ground or Flying? Shadowclan originally had only Dark types but during Brokenstar's time as leader, a lot of Ghost types migrated to their territory. Skyclan has Grass and Fairy. Speaking of Skyclan, Leafstar has a Lopunny & as you can tell leader's type doesn't already correlate with the type of wild Pokemon around
Yellowfang's Purugly was originally a gift from Raggedstar to Foxheart but she abandoned it after it evolved because it wasn't "pretty enough" for her so Yellowfang took it
Leopardstar has a Mioltic and perhaps a Persian ? I think when she was younger a Meowth was struggling in the river when Skyheart made a (teasing) comment about how it reminded her of Leopard when they were younger (wonder why.) Leopardfur rescued it and later the two crossed paths again when the Meowth evolved into a Persian
Russetfur most definitely has a Liepard. Not sure what Blackfoot/star has but while he was Shadowclan's deputy he had a close ghost type companion. (steel could also work for him maybe when he's leader- I think Aegislash would be a good fit)
Dustpelt specializes in Fighting types, his first pokemon was a Timburr. I also think he'd have a Watchhog (which isnt a fighting type but i still like the idea of it)
Crookedstar probably has a Floatzel ? I imagine it was one of the first Pokemon he caught but with Rainflower being the horrible mother she is she thought such a cute Pokemon deserved to be Oakheart's (Oakpaw at the time) so she switched Crooked's Floatzel for Oak's Krabby (Shellheart switched them back though). Crookedstar also has a Starmie.
Silversteam wants a Mioltic and once tried to sneak Leopardstar's one off into a battle but she does not like Feebas. And she keeps being told she won't find a wild Mioltic. Silverstream doesn't like this. She later finds a Pachirisu, and Uh.
Mistyfoot has a Vaporeon and Stonefur has a Golduck & Dewott
Goosefeather would have an Absol.
Frostfur has many Ice types, including a Frolass, Dewgong and an Alolan Ninetales. Her love her ice types started during her training with Bluestar. Brindleface has...normal and grass types...? Or maybe bug types. Yea, Brindleface specializes in Bug types. She has a Leavanny and Illumise maybe a Ladyba too
Longtail's speciality would probably just be normal & flying, he definitely has an Aipom
Hawkfrost has Ice types :) Mothwing..idk about Mothwing sorry
Scourge has a Sneasel....i also want to give him a Snubbull
i may add to this in reblogs

Ok, so, I've been trying for too much to think what Pokémon represents best the IkeVap boys and?? I'm clueless H e l p Like maybe Theo could be a Lucario, Nappy an Arcanine, Moz a Glaceon, but honestly? I Do Not Know And I'm Not Sure™️
Truly, I have never been more understood than in this moment 😂😂 I love Pokémon, so it was fun to do this! I just hope I don’t disappoint~
That being said bc I have absolutely no reading comprehension despite appearances, I originally just made a kind of compilation of the Pokémon I thought they would have (if it’s a legendary Pokémon, maybe they’re just Good Bros^TM at least). But given that much of my selections were made on the basis of similarities between each suitor and the pokémon listed, I decided to just add and bold the one that I felt best embodied each character c:
Enjoy~💖💖💖
(Also I am hugely into Pokémon so I have no qualms getting requests like this; go for it y’all)
Comte: Ninetales (Alolan): thought to be immortal, treated like a deity but really just wants to be left alone with its own kind sometimes Alakazam Froslass Zoroark Milotic Celebi Rapidash (Galar) Reshiram Delphox Bonus: has a shiny Gardevoir he brings to balls with him sometimes, and she is very lovely uwu
Napoleon: Braviary: fights for its allies until the bitter end, very committed to justice and protecting those who need it Arcanine Lucario Rayquaza Rapidash (Kanto) Rhydon Skarmory Bonus: He keeps a Falinks bc "march on you funky little Pokémon”
Mozart: Meloetta: ability to create music that moves one to emotion Rowlett (HE’S A DAPPER LITTLE GENTLEMAN WITH A BOWTIE OFC MOZART LOVES IT) Primarina Suicune Jigglypuff
Leonardo (he literally just finds cats and babies and takes them home, this is what my instincts say and I trust them. Also has a Machoke for when he needs help with more intensive work): Cubone: do y’all really need an explanation for this one. [Okay bc I don’t want to be obnoxious, for any of you that might be unaware, Cubone is known as “The Lonely Pokémon.” It essentially wears the skull of its dead mother and weeps for its loss. The reason I chose it for Leonardo is that, at least to me, 99% of his characterization and vibe just screams “abandoned/neglected child” imo] Luxray Litten Espurr Silvally Machoke
Arthur: Mandibuzz: power complex about preying on the weak Lumineon: attracts attention from potential mates, but also risks attention from predators/enemies from the gaudy display
Isaac: Applin: hidey apple child that has yet to tap into his strength (you will be a dragon type one day) Quilava Magneton Lanturn Togedemaru Metagross Bonus: Minior bc he is a child of the stars
Vincent: Smeargle: art Swablu: it’s baby. he baby. [okay but like fr Swablu loves people and coos at them and its all around adorable and even sits on people’s heads like a little cloud hat for fun. tell me that isn’t Vincent energy.] Poipole [if anybody has seen the anime, it’s basically a tiny agent of chaos that loves to paint on anything and everything; I feel like Vincent would find it endearing] Sunflora Lycanroc(Midday)  Zigzagoon Zacian Ho-oh
Theodorus: Scrafty: I think of this Pokémon bc it is strong and takes great pride in protecting loved ones “This Pokémon may be rude, but/While mostly known for having the temperament of an aggressive ruffian, it takes very good care of its family, its friends, and its turf.” This you, Theo? Lycanroc(Dusk) Nidoking Zangoose Zamazenta Yamper Tyranitar
Jeanne: Golurk: functions to protect people Absol: considered a bad omen/harbinger, even though it appears to forewarn humanity--it doesn’t cause calamity Pawniard Gallade Marowak (Alolan) Aegislash Umbreon (Shiny) Sirfetch’d Corviknight Spectrier
Dazai: Mr.Mime: clown Corsola (Galar) Confagrigus Lapras  Piplup Ninetales (Kanto) Pidove Slowking Rotom (specifically acquired via painstaking means just to harass Isaac)
Shakespeare: Mimikyu: nananananana spyman Buneary Seviper Chatot Liepard Bannette
Sebastian: Indeedee: male version of this Pokémon act as a valet, and are known for their poise and helpfulness Greninja Ampharos Polteageist Wooloo Combee Bellossom (I hc that he acquired a Bellossom for the sole intention of thwarting rain whenever possible, mostly for Dazai and Jeanne’s sake. It doesn’t always work, but it can also serve to lighten rainfall)
Vlad: Zekrom: seeks to create a world constructed in the name of ideals Hydreigon: perhaps closer to his true nature, incredibly powerful and rampages indiscriminately Dragapult Charizard X Haxorus(Shiny) Gengar Krookodile Scolipede Spiritomb Roserade (Why can’t I stop imagining him as one of those annoying Dragon Tamer trainers on Victory Road, where I just whip out Ice Beam and level every single one of his Pokémon. Sir I have no interest in your erroneous preconceptions of strength, I have an Elite Four to d e s t r o y)
Charles: Mawile: very pretty but big murder Crobat Skitty Dreepy
Faust: Oranguru: will not abide inexperienced trainers (aka imbeciles or people he deems empty/pathetic) but also creates medicine for other Pokémon Mewtwo Eevee --> Espeon Noctowl (Shiny)

Hello! Just decided to tell you that I have chosen to do the requests I have left digitally, unless I choose otherwise. I might be running low on art motivation, but it might be because I subconsciously wanted to go back to digital art. Though if it persists, I'll take a break from drawing. Figure I'll give it the benefit of the doubt.
Also as for the watch list, I might just skip over Attack on Titan, so Land of the Lustrous is the thing I'm watching next.
Also, question for the KV!Cast: What would their Pokemon team look like if they were to have Pokemon?(Can be from one to six on the team.)
Hi Dragon! Make sure you take breaks when you need to! And I'm excited to hear your opinions on Land of the Lustrous when you do watch it! I might rewatch it again soon. >w<
Making up a pokemon team for the KV!Cast huh? Oh boy this is gonna be hard... So many pokemon.... But I love the idea! Let me see...
(I am going to include legendaries, but only for the Immortals! And I'm more likely to pick from the earlier generations of pokemon purely because I'm more familiar with them.)
(Also, some of them won't have a single type for their team. I picked pokemon I thought they would like.)

Endeavors in trying to play pokemon rejuvenated:
spoilers: it’s hard
(long post + spoilers up to just after the 1st gym. it took me 8 hours to get to the first gym. the website does not lie about 70+ hours of gameplay.)
OH GOD SOMEONE’S ALREADY DEAD?? the startup warned viewer discretion but I did not anticipate blood
what just happened was that a dream or a prophecy
So someone just bombed this cruise ship, MC was teleported off, and MC just wanders off to start their Pokemon journey?? We don’t know if our mom is even alive?? Um???
if you keep agreeing to this scammer you can get a free trip to hoenn and ditch the game. you get a game over if you go through with it, and once you say no you can’t get the offer again
I lost like my first 5 trainer battles (you get battled before you even step foot in tall grass) and let me tell you. get used to losing in this game bc it’s so much harder than any official pokemon game ever
And I’m playing on normal mode
While completing a side quest I had to rescue this Pidove and this strange lady swooped in and earthbended(???), impaling their getaway ship and telekinesis-ing the thieves away. she was like “oh the pilot of the ship? who I just impaled with rocks? probably had friends and family :) what’s with that look? Don’t be scared I’d never hurt a child. Unless they were a brat. :)” and then she f’s off and i haven’t seen her since and I’m very scared of her
I got a nidoran by chasing her around the city and then cornering her. mine now >:)
there’s a dashcon reference in the mission building and it gave me whiplash
pokemon rejuvenation says gay rights. i had to deliver a love letter AND buy the recipient a gift. and they say romance is dead
there’s a level cap (20 if you haven’t beaten any gyms, 25 after the first) so my strat of overleveling at the slightest challenge is thrown out the window. I am turned into paste every other trainer battle
There’s a lot of stuff before Route 1 even appears, the pokemon there are around level 10.
The first trip to Route 1 is free. then you have to pay a hundred pokedollaroonies to take the train each time you want to go
there are shadow pokemon and MC is given this thing to steal them back from grunts. it’s optional. I was too busy trying to stay alive to catch some, and after beating some higher up he was like “wow you didn’t even try catching my corrupted grimer >:)” and I’m just “*dr phil voice*: shut the hell up bitch”
then I got turned into paste by a boss shadow gyarados and had to be rescued
I somehow completely missed both Gearen City Garden and a whole hotel and almost beat the first gym without finding them. but I did so >:). My current objective as of this point is to step foot on route 2 so I can run back to the hotel and get a Shinx that someone from the hotel is giving away
People will straight up give you pokemon they’re unable to care for. mostly they’re sad depressed office workers
My team at this point is a quilava, fletchinder, rockruff, nidorina, bellsprout, and noibat. I think the rockruff’s gonna go once I get my shinx. surprisingly bellsprout’s been a savior and very useful addition and probably gonna stick around until I find a cooler grass-type. having two fire types on my team has been hard but they’re both cool pokemon sooooo i’ll take that challenge thank you very much
I got a secret seviper egg but sadly I’m more of a zangoose fan
Ok so the rejuvenation fandom wiki is like half-done and all of the pokemon articles are pulled from bulbapedia with some extra stuff thrown in like locations and effectiveness against shadow pokemon etc etc. But i SWEAR the type matchups are different. either than or mareanie’s just a powerhouse and I’m bad at battling without the little words telling me what’s effective and what’s not
So get this. all of the first gym’s pokemon are around level 15. I’ve got a team of nearly level 17-20s at this point. I beat the gym on roughly the 3rd try, barely. I’m awarded the badge and am eager to get moving to route to. if the wiki’s correct (and I think it is) all I have to do is walk onto Route 2, which until now has been locked, and then I’ll get a Shinx. But the person supposed to give my the Rock Smash I need is like “no youre helping me with a job before I do this” and I’m like ok I don’t have a choice
So I follow this stranger to the bridge near Route 2 and we head into a lab. the scientist is rumored to be experimenting on pokemon. the door’s unlocked. two people are speaking to each other. as we near, the illusion of one person fades out. the other person’s name is Dr. Jenkal.
We have (supposedly) two doctors: One fades out of view. One is more eccentric than the other. One is named Dr. Jenkal. place your bets folks: is it a Jeckal and Hyde situation? Well, I don’t know because,
I (that’s right, me alone in a double battle, having not at all trained since winning the gym, the person who dragged me out here is Not Helping) am immediately thrust into battle with this guy. Just a couple Munna. Definitely going to ignore the Musharna he was experimenting on. huh okay this battle’s tough but I think I’ll- oh he sent out the Musharna? hm it’s high leveled but I might just be able to-
ah there are custom mega evolutions in this game that’s cool
[i am turned to paste yet again]
and that’s as far as i’ve gotten so far

Duwang Gang: What if they had a Pokémon Team? + Pokédex entries
Uhhhh i don't know, this is not a shitpost. i care about this stuff, i put a lot of effort in thinking about these teams, man. enjoy~💙
Kujo Jotaro can be found HERE
HIGASHIKATA JOSUKE
Tumblr media
Medicham: it is said that through meditation, it heightens energy inside its body and sharpens its sixth sense. This Pokémon hides its presence by merging itself with fields and mountains.
Metagross: it boasts not only psychic powers but also fantastic strength. It grabs its prey with its four legs and holds them in place with its claws.
Audino: it touches others with the feelers on its ears, using the sound of their heartbeats to tell how they are feeling.
Ditto: it rearranges its cell structure to transform itself into other shapes. However, if it tries to transform itself into something by relying on its memory, this Pokémon manages to get details wrong.
Dhelmise: after a piece of seaweed merged with debris and an anchor from a sunken ship, it was reborn as this ghost Pokémon.
Blissey: this kindhearted Pokémon nurses sick Pokémon back to health. It senses feelings of sadness.
NIJIMURA OKUYASU
Tumblr media
Dusknoir: with the mouth on its belly, Dusknoir swallows its target whole. The soul is the only thing eaten. Dusknoir disgorges the body before departing.
Slowbro: spacing out is basically all it does. It turns back into Slowpoke if its tail, along with Shellder, breaks off.
Ambipom: split into two, the tails are so adept at handling and doing things, Ambipom rarely uses its hands.
Snorlax: terrifyingly strong, its typical day consists of nothing more than eating and sleeping. It is such a docile Pokémon that there are children who use its expansive belly as a place to play.
Zangoose: it usually stays on all fours, but when angered, it gets up on its hind legs and extends its claws. This Pokémon shares a bitter rivalry with Seviper that dates back over generations.
Cofagrigus: they pretend to be elaborate coffins to teach lessons to grave robbers. Their bodies are covered in pure gold.
HIROSE KOICHI
Tumblr media
Vikavolt: it has an organ that generates electricity in its abdomen. It concentrates energy in its strong jaws and fires off powerful jolts of electricity.
Orbeetle: it's famous for its high level of intelligence, and the large size of its brain is proof that it also possesses immense psychic power.
Chimecho: it makes its cries echo inside its hollow body. When this Pokémon becomes enraged, its cries result in ultrasonic waves that have the power to knock foes flying.
Porygon-Z: it had a program installed to allow it to move between dimensions, but the program also caused instability in its behavior.
Exploud: it has sound-generating organs all over its body. It communicates with others by adjusting the tone and volume of the cries it emits.
Kricketune: it signals its emotions with its melodies. Scientists are studying these melodic patterns.
YAMAGISHI YUKAKO
Tumblr media
[SHE'S SO BEAUTIFUL WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK KOICHI YOU LUCKY BASTARD]
Tangrowth: its vines grow so profusely that, in the warm season, you can't even see its eyes.
Dugtrio: Its shining beatiful hair provides it with protection. it's reputed that keeping any of Dugtrio's fallen hairs will bring bad luck.
Mawile: its huge jaws are actually steel horns that have been transformed. Its docile-looking face serves to lull its foe into letting down its guard. When the foe least expects it, it chomps it with its gaping jaws.
Luvdisc: its heart-shaped body is a symbol of love and romance. It is said that any couple meeting this pokémon is promised a loving relationship that never ends.
Zoroark: seeking to ease the burden of solitude, lonely Trainers tell Zoroark to show illusions to them.
Furfrou: there was an era when aristocrats would compete to see who could trim their Furfrou's fur into the most exquisite style.
KISHIBE ROHAN
Tumblr media
Galvantula: they employ an electrically charged web to trap their prey. While it is immobilized by shock, they leisurely consume it.
Kecleon: it is capable of changing its body colors at will to blend in with its surroundings. There is one exception. This Pokémon can't change the zigzag pattern on its belly.
Unown R: this Pokémon is shaped like ancient text characters. (Rohan owns the R shaped one). Although research is ongoing, it is a mystery as to which came first, the ancient writings or the various Unown.
Beheeyem: it has strong psychic powers. Using its fingers that flash three different colors, it controls its opponents and rewrites their memories.
Gallade: True to its honorable image, it uses the blades on its elbows only in defense of something or someone.
Malamar: It lures prey close with hypnotic motions, then wraps its tentacles around it before finishing it off with digestive fluids.

Henlo! Does Zangoose have any specific significance for you?
Not really, I mean I like it and it’s design and I love the shiny as you can tell, but it came about as me and a friend asking what pokemon we thought each other were and they said zangoose for me and when I asking other people they agree, so no real significance.

I called around and it seems many of the grimmsnarl communities have been scared off in one way or another. The people I spoke to said they’d be willing to take the two impidimp and house them until they could figure out which community they came from, but Samson has taken to them and won’t let me give them up and they don’t seem to want to leave his side either. So I suppose I have two new impidimps to take care of.
Hm, that they've been chased off is a bit concerning. Grimmsnarls are not easy to scare off- very tough Pokemon, not afraid to throw their weight around. If you don't mind telling me, I might make a trip to the area and see if I can come investigate? We just had ourselves an issue of displaced Sevipers and Zangoose in our area, so it wouldn't be anything new for me to help out with.
Onto these lovely Impidimps- it's good that Samson has at least bonded with them, so he'll definitely be doing a lot of care with them. Still, you might find yourself with your hands full, so here's some care advice from someone who has frequent contact with the little guys!
They’re very playful! They love to joke around and play little tricks- harmless, really, so expect a lot of minor nuisances. They might move your things, hide things, tie shoelaces together. They’re also going to be all over Samson and looking to play with him a lot, wanting to impress him, my best advice to play along so long as is safe, and put a stop to any unsafe behaviour. Samson will be great help for this.
They eat mostly plants- keep them eating leafy greens like spinach and kale, they’ll love it and it’s good for them! Berries are a good indulgence, but watch out for that sweet tooth, they’re notorious for it. Certain species of mushrooms are also a good snack- they love some of the glowing varieties in the forest around Ballonlea. A good source of protein for them is any small insects- it’s the only kind of meat they’ll eat and they don’t need it very often, but it’s good for them once or twice a week.
Impidimps require a good bit of exercise, and they love toys. They love plushies especially, and will gladly play with those for hours, but you can also get them toys you might get for a human infant. They’re fond of play xylophones and other baby instruments, just make sure you’re prepared for a LOT of noise if you go this route. Other than that, anything brightly coloured and durable will keep their attention, especially if it lights up.
They don’t like a lot of sun, so keep outside time to the morning, if possible! They love a lot of shade and will love you forever if you build them a blanket fort, if possible. Otherwise, they’re going to make a nest in the darkest area they can get to, so keep an eye out for that. They exhibit similar nesting periods to Pokemon like Sandile- seeking out cooler, darker areas for their nests, though Impidimps much prefer cozy, soft nests. Blanket fort = perfect nest, especially if it has lots of pillows.
Impidimps are a fun addition if you're up to caring for them, and with Samson's help you should all get along nicely! Grimmsnarls take quickly to young species, so it isn't entirely surprising that he's taken to them so fast, especially if he's the only Grimmsnarl around. It is concerning that the Grimmsnarl communities around you have been chased off- I can't think of many Pokemon that would actively seek out chasing off Grimmsnarls, so it's definitely got me stuck. Again- if you want, I can come see if I can help out with what's going on down there.

Could you tell us anything about interesting courtship behaviours? Like, do certain species’ rituals involve cool dances, or gift rituals, or something else equally fascinating? I’m sorry if this is too weird or vague or something!
Oh, no, that’s a very interesting topic! This is probably gonna be an interesting list, as well as long, but you {as well as others} are likely to find it very interesting!
While it’s common knowledge for most people, it’s still so neat to watch as Butterfree do their mating dances! The male does a little dance towards the female and, if she likes it, she starts mirroring it!
Alolan Rattata and Raticate are known for being gourmets, but when courting each other, they’ll go out of their way to give their wanted mate the best piece of food in their current hoard! It results in double problems if the one they’re targeting doesn’t requite their feelings, as they still take the food, but it’s interesting to me.
Venomoth are also dancers, but interestingly the females will release some toxic scales onto the male that they’re interested in within their dance! What really makes this neat is they’re one of the few bug-types that the females try to get the attention of the males!
All forms of Meowth are known to hoard things that they like, and they offer their favorite thing to the one that has their eye. This leads to some very interesting interaction when you end up with different regional versions liking each other, as their hoards will be vastly different.
Rapidash have races, and once the female has picked a male, she rubs her horn against his. With Galarian Rapidash, it seems they’ll also glow as they race and accept.
Furret work on digging special love tunnels for their potential mates. If the Furret doesn’t enter it, or exits from the same area it entered, it doesn’t like the tunnel and won’t stay with the one who dug it out.
No one’s entirely sure the exacts of what goes on with Xatu, as all we see is them stare at each other for up to 3 days, but we do know that when the feelings are requited they both will open their wings, let out a cry, and then rub beaks.
Jumpluff rub their arm puffs together! It’s simple but it’s so cute!
Murkrow and Honchkrow make nests out of shiny objects and hope to get the attention of a female that way.
Smeargle change up the markings on their territory to much more artistic lines and waves to say “hey, I’m ready for a mate!”
The Torchic line make semi-melodic cries, with the evolutions adding some fighting techniques to the show.
Gardevoir and Gallade are surprisingly similar to humans in the fact that it’s extremely varied and usually involve gifts and/or meals.
Exploud is very dangerous to be near if they need to find or attract a mate, because the males start having a shouting contest. As most people know, being near a shouting Exploud can cause permanent hearing loss to hospitalization or death.
Illumise lets Volbeat know she’s ready for a mate by changing around her scent, and the Volbeat all compete with interesting light-shows.
Roselia and Roserade, interestingly enough, exchange toxins. As a result, a Roselia cannot mate with a Roserade, as Roserade’s toxins are much stronger than Roselia’s.
When Spinda are courting each other is the only time they walk in a straight line! They’ll walk strait to their wanted mate and then do a small dance. If the other dances as well, then it’s a success! Otherwise, it’ll walk {straight} away.
Swablu and Altaria take on multiple partners. They cluster together to make a large fake cloud and just... keep going until each one decides that’s enough.
Further showing how strangely similar they are, both Zangoose and Seviper make shows of power to get mates. Stranger still, their mating times are the same.
Kricketune preforms a concert, usually with friends, to get the attention of others. One Kricketune could end its concert with up to 15 different mates of either gender.
Wormadam make nests to show they’re ready to mate, and they then get tons of bachelors dancing right outside their nests in hopes to get her attention. She picks whichever looks to have the largest wings and best dance.
The Stunky line also makes nests, and usually release their scent regularly, as only the one who likes their scent will be a proper mate.
Lucario are believed to read each other’s auras and try to make them match. This comes from the fact that they’ll put their paws right by each other and lift their sensors up, holding that position for up to 14 hours.
Scolipede put on shows of speed and power, the females pick the males that cause the most damage.
Basculin clash and fight each other over which male gets to fertilize eggs. It’s actually the main reason there seems to be a different amount of blue and red stripe ones each year.
Maractus do dances, but it’s hard to tell if the male or female starts the dance, as they seem to do it almost simultaneously.
As I mentioned in a previous ask, Minccino and Cinccino will have cleaning contests to get the attention of each other, and it isn’t exclusive to one gender or the other.
Meowstic show control over their abilities. The female usually picks the male with the most control to the most power.
Oricorio are of course dancers. What’s interesting is if the Oricorio had changed form, it will try and do all dances it ever knew at once!
Salazzle is one of the few pokemon that mate year round. Just, whenever she wishes, she grabs a random male to use to fertilize the eggs.
Mating season is the only time Mimikyu is observed having more than one disguise. They will almost do a fashion show of all of the disguises they’ve secretly made, usually made to look like starter pokemon as they pick those that seemed the most loved by humans they’ve seen.
And that’s about all the ones I know that are very, very interesting! If my fellow breeders or some professors have some more to add, feel free!
