glad you’re enjoying my posts! and there’s definitely gonna be a lot more reactions, probably later today since i plan on finishing season 1 today. i heard someone say that the s1 finale is “nothing compared to the s2 finale” and that makes me slightly concerned for what’s to come but i guess i’ll just have to see

In honor of Homestar Runner and co., I've decided to compile a list of my favorite costume from everybody, everybody!
Let's start with the (man?) himself!
Tumblr media
Thanks to James Rolfe, I'm a SUCKER for retro video games, well-known, obscure, and everywhere else in-between! Case in point: Dragon's Lair: the fantasy adventure where you become a valiant knight on a quest to rescue the fair princess from the clutches of an evil dragon! (Okay, that's enough of that!) To this day, I am STILL waiting for that Dragon's Lair movie!
Honorable mentions: Teen Wolf and Tobias from Arrested Development
Tumblr media
Speaking of retro games, we have Strong Bad as Carmen Freakin' Sandiego! Honestly, this selection was one part geeking out and one part sentimental value, for just a few years ago, I dressed up as Strong Bad / Carmen Sandiego!
Honorable mentions: Jambi the Genie from Pee-Wee's Playhouse, Beetlejuice, the planet on the cover of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, No Face from Spirited Away, and Viewtiful Joe
Tumblr media
I've been wanting to see Ponyo ever since it first came out in theaters, but up until recently, I've never gotten around to it. So thanks, The Cheat!
Honorable mentions: Garfield, the Hawaiian Punch mascot, Toad from Mario, The Lorax, and Little Caeser!
Tumblr media
I'm not really sure if this falls under "retro games," because despite Thwomp's first appearance being in Mario 3, everyone knows what a Thwomp is! (More than any of the other retro game characters I picked anyway.)
Honorable mentions: Gossamer from Looney Tunes, one of the Money for Nothing guys, and Pink Floyd's The Wall
Tumblr media
Dear God, I need to start watching the Young Ones again. :p
Honorable mentions: The Utz Girl and Mike Dawson from Darkseed
If I had a nickel for every time Strong Sad dressed as a male character who canonically got pregnant, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's kinda sus that it happened twice.
Tumblr media
I'm a simple young woman; I see a the Kool-Aid man costume, it's automatically my favorite.
Honorable mentions: Walter from the Big Lebowski and Disney World's Orange Bird (I saw Orange Bird merch EVERYWHERE on my trip to Disney World back in March. So yeah, more sentimental value.)

I put together a transcript of the 1 hour Q&A Interview the Carmen Sandiego Discord did with Abby Trott (Ivy) and Rafael Petardi (Chase Devineaux). All of the questions were submitted by server members. You can read everything below the break!
PizzaHorse:
Hello everyone! Please welcome Abby Trott and Rafael Petardi to our Q&A today.
Abby Trott:
Hiiiiiiiiiii!
Rafael Petardi:
Hello Bonjour!
PizzaHorse:
Let's get started. How did you get started as a voice actor? Was there anything that inspired you to pursue it as a career?
Abby Trott:
Oh MAN. Long story.
Rafael Petardi:
Mine is very short. I'm an actor and my agent started sending me on voice auditions and eventually I booked some!
Abby Trott:
This is a novel so I started typing it ahead of time, haha. I was an acting/theater major, and when I graduated from college I moved to Japan on the JET program to teach English because I wanted to travel so freakin' badly. I had never even been on an airplane. I was placed in rural Akita, (inaka), and absolutely LOVED it. The only problem was I wanted to be and actor/singer… womp womp. At that time, I also started to mess around with characters and voices - I would record voice memos and conversations with myself while driving around. One day, a friend was in the car and my phone was on shuffle and one of my "scenes" started playing - I was absolutely MORTIFIED. But that moment solidified for me that I need to move to the big ole city if I wanted to really pursue acting. I ended up heading to Tokyo, where I performed in children's musicals, and did other gigs here and there. That's where I started doing VO professionally! I was able to do some character voices for the shows I was in, and some other side projects. I realized how much I loved VO, and eventually decided to move back to the States to pursue it, since most English VO for games and animation is produced here.
When I moved back, I started searching online for VoiceOver opportunities, and stumbled across a contest hosted by Bang Zoom! Entertainment. I BARELY got my entry in on time. The contest took place over several months, and in the meantime, I moved to NYC and started taking VO classes. For the finale of the contest, they flew me to LA. I ended up winning! Still can't believe it. (O-O) I got to dub my first anime "Miss Monochrome," and realized that if I wanted to work in games and animation, I should probably move to LA… and the I DID.
THE END
PizzaHorse:
What do you think are the best and worst things about being a voice actor?
Abby Trott:
Oooh. The worst things? Job insecurity... constant rejection...
Rafael Petardi:
The incredibly talented and cool people you meet and work with.
What Abby said
Abby Trott:
The best things? Working with amazing people, AND it's so much fun - even auditioning is fun!
PizzaHorse:
How did you land your role on the show?
Rafael Petardi:
I auditioned
Got the job
pretty boring I know
Abby Trott:
I auditioned through my agency, and got a callback. I went to the callback and their note was "more Boston." Then I had a second callback and their note was "even MORE Boston." So I went WICKED BOSTON and got the job
PizzaHorse:
What was your favorite/the most fun thing to record (episode/scene/line)? Any least favorites?
Rafael Petardi:
For me, the funnest scenes to record are the ones I got to play opposte the incredibly talented cast.
The least favorite... did not have enough scenes with the Wonderful Abby Trott
Abby Trott:
Awww Rafe! Singing was the MOST FUN! The Karaoke Ep, and the choose-your-own adventure one, where we got to sing the theme! Mikey (Zack) was cracking me up constantly.
Least favorite was the last ep because I didn't want it to eeeeeend
PizzaHorse:
Were you allowed to suggest lines to be said by your character, or improvise the script at all if you thought something would add to the scene?
Abby Trott:
YUP! And Mikey and I definitely did, hahaa. It was encouraged. Always fun to see what they keep...
Rafael Petardi:
Yes we were. I improvised mostly sounds and noises. Words once in a while but not very often. Thank God for Duane
PizzaHorse:
What was the hardest part of voicing your character on Carmen Sandiego? Was there a particular episode that was difficult to record?
Rafael Petardi:
Keeping the consistency episode to episode of the Chase's accent, pitch and energy
I did not want hime to sound different ever
Abby Trott:
I think the hardest part was keeping up the EXTREME Boston accent. But it was also SUPER fun...
PizzaHorse:
What traits do you share or have in common with the character you play?
Rafael Petardi:
I am like Chase in the sense of a Dog with a Bone. If I get pasionate about something, I go to extremes. Abby Trott has scene this for example in my bread making endeavors
Also, I'm an idiot in life too sometimes
Abby Trott:
Ivy and I are both... from Mass! we both have brothers who we argue with but really do love when it comes down to it. We love chocolate, aaaaand... I think we're both brave. (brag?)
Can confirm Rafe is v. passionate about bread. And and idiot.
Rafael Petardi:
All True
PizzaHorse:
What character on the show would you voice if you had the chance?
Abby Trott:
Chase
Rafael Petardi:
I would love Maelstrom
Abby Trott:
Jk... Coach Brunt seems SUPER fun
PizzaHorse:
If you could meet a character from Carmen Sandiego in real life, who would it be and why?
Abby Trott:
Carmen! she is the coooooleeest. I'd ask her to teach me some tricks
Rafael Petardi:
Julie Argent. She's cute
PizzaHorse:
Which character do you think you are most like or that you most identify with?
Rafael Petardi:
CHASE
I think that's partly why we're doing the roles we do
Abby Trott:
I think Ivy, for real! Casting was ON IT. I can be serious when I need to be, but I'm a giant goofball (if you couldn't tell from my latest tweet/insta post...)
PizzaHorse:
Who is your favorite character, other than your own?
Abby Trott:
Mime. Bomb.
Rafael Petardi:
Other than my own? Hmmm... uuuh... mmmm. tough...
Abby Trott:
Seriously, I think Mime bomb is hilarious.
Rafael Petardi:
Yes Mime Bomb!
PizzaHorse:
Do you wish your character had more interactions with another character in particular?
Rafael Petardi:
Yes, I would love to interact with Ivy and Maelstrom
I think the interaction would be odd and awkward and funny
Abby Trott:
Yes. I would love to see how Ivy handles the specific VILE members... I would love to see IVY try to go to VILE academy...
PizzaHorse:
Are there any themes or lessons from the series that you would want people to remember?
Rafael Petardi:
yes, don't jump to conclusions and be an idiot
Abby Trott:
Yes! That! also, don't be evil. ALSO also, be loyal to your friends.
PizzaHorse:
Do you ever look at fan content?
Rafael Petardi:
yes all the time. It helps when I'm tagged rafaelPetardi on Instagram
Abby Trott:
Yes! I look at fanart sometimes, and see what cosplays are happenin'
Rafael Petardi:
I've posted many as well
Abby Trott:
Haven't read much fanfic... but I know it's out there.
PizzaHorse:
What did you think about your character's development and arc throughout the series?
Rafael Petardi:
I absolutely loooooooved Chase's arc
Love redemption stuff
he was just misguided
just was alway his thing
Abby Trott:
I love Ivy's journey - she really grew up, from a troubled kid to an adult, accepting responsibility and accepting new challenges. Donning the hat, if you will.
Rafael Petardi:
*justice as always his thing
PizzaHorse:
How do you feel now that Carmen Sandiego is at its end?
Rafael Petardi:
sad. miss evrybody so much
we will have to have a cast reunion when this pandemic thing is over
Abby Trott:
SAD! But grateful. It was THE MOST fun to record, and I wish it could continue forever.
Rafael Petardi:
I'm grateful too. yes
Abby Trott:
and YES reunion!
PizzaHorse:
Yesss can't wait for that group photo to pop up on social media!
Were there any moments in the series that had you legitimately emotional?
Rafael Petardi:
yes ofcourse
losing Julia was tough
Abby Trott:
A lot. But one that stands out for me is after Carmen gets stuck out in the snow, and is reunited with her crew. (:_;). Also the stuff with Shadowsan and his brother... and anything with baby Carmen...
Gah. So many...
PizzaHorse:
Did you enjoy how the show ended? Is there anything you would have changed or would have liked to see more of?
Rafael Petardi:
I loved the way the show ended! I think Duane did a fantastic job tying loose ends and bring the story to a satisfactory close for all characters
I do hope for an ACME Ivy, Zak, Julia and Chase spin-off
Abby Trott:
I love how it ends. I think it wrapped so well considering the number of eps - the writers really got it done. I WISH Ivy and Zack could follow Carmen forever, but she has her own story to unravel it would seem.
And Ivy does look good in that suit let me tell ya
PizzaHorse:
Can you share a favorite behind the scenes moment?
Abby Trott:
Mikey. Is. So. Funny. Hard to choose one moment - he would make me laugh harder than anything. Especially when we were singing. Or any time he had to gag...
Rafael Petardi:
OMG!
That singing stuff we had to do together was hilarious
we could not stop laughinh
PizzaHorse:
What, in your opinion, are the best pizza toppings?
Abby Trott:
Cheese. Caramelized onions. Roasted garlic. Spinach. Mushrooms.
Rafael Petardi:
buffala mozzarella and tomatos period
oooooo fancy Abby
Abby Trott:
Rafe why aren't you as obsessed with pizza as you are with bread? And can you be?
Rafael Petardi:
I am
Abby Trott:
!
Rafael Petardi:
I just don;t like to share pizza
PizzaHorse:
Here's a specific question for Rafael. Did you sometimes get mad at your own character for the way he behaved towards Julia earlier on in the Series?
And one for Abby. As a Massachusetts native, how did you feel about voicing a character from Boston with the iconic accent?
Rafael Petardi:
I did not. I always felt, however misguided Chase was, he was always on the path of turth and justice no matter what was in his way. It's the same principals that led hin to see the truth about Julia
*principles
Abby Trott:
I think it's so cool, and kind of an honor, in a way. I was worried about it being too much, and people saying it's over the top. Turns out comedy wins, haha.
PizzaHorse:
Were you familiar with the older animated series when you started work on the Netflix original?
Rafael Petardi:
I never heard of Carmen Sandiego before I did this series
Abby Trott:
Yes! I had seen a bit. I also remember watching my brother play the game. Someone gifted me a mini arcade version of the game this year, and I'm excited to play
Rafael Petardi:
Which I think helped when I had to say the iconic line
"Where in th world..." there was no pressure
LoL
Abby Trott:
LOL
PizzaHorse:
Okay, last question. Do you have a favorite quote from the show?
Abby Trott:
"La Femme Rouge!"
or Mime Bomb's classic "..."
Rafael Petardi:
"the game is over!"
PizzaHorse:
Woohoo!
Abby Trott:
Hooray!
PizzaHorse:
Thank you so much Rafael Petardi and Abby Trott for joining us today! I hope everybody had a wicked awesome time.
Abby Trott:
Thanks for having us! What a pleasure.
Rafael Petardi:
It was great! Thank you to all the great questions.
Abby Trott:
Thanks for watching the show! Great questions. I'm sure I'm going to think of more quotes as soon as I log off... haha.
Rafael Petardi:
See you all soon!
Abby Trott:
Stay safe, take care, and see you all on various social media platforms!

300
Tumblr’s algorithm picked up my last whumptober post and that unexpectedly rocketed me up to over 300 followers (welcome new folks, I haven’t had a chance to even look at y’all yet). But really it’s quite flattering. (I think at least 10% of them are pornbots, but beggars can’t be choosers.)
So I guess in uh, celebration/woohoo, I’m just gonna post snippets from my WIPs (outside of the whumptober ones as those are coming out in the next couple days) which… well, it’s something. :3 Yes it all has to do with Stephen, I’m going one-trick-pony mode right now and it’s a friggin blast.
This is long and has WIPs of art too, so cut cut cut bellllooww.
The farking Doctor Strange/Sherlock crossover that’s been at 80% complete since July and still has no title
However, before Sherlock got caught up into the cloak once again, he forced his eyes to the man’s hands. A lot could be discovered by someone’s hands.
And what hands they were. His eyes involuntarily widened at the sight of the ragged, and in some places hypertrophic scars on the back side of each finger. He quickly looked to the other hand; they were there, too. Clearly they were crushed in some sort of accident, but an accident that left him upright and without any hint of a limp. It was possible that they were caught in some sort of machinery, but both at the same time? Statistically speaking, a car accident was more likely. A car accident that damaged the bonnet of the car and crushed his fingers between the steering wheel and the dashboard, more than likely leaving permanent nerve damage. Unfortunate.
The age of the scars showed that they were healed over, but their nature made it difficult to determine how long ago they were received. With the overall lack of fading, however, it was likely that the damage occurred within the last few years. He could not see his palms and determine anything from there, but the callus upon his right middle finger determined which hand he wrote with. Or once wrote with, at any rate. His hands could certainly be worthy of further study, if only to attempt to determine their surgical history.
Upon his left wrist was, of all things, a wristwatch. He narrowed his eyes. It was a Jaeger-LeCoultre and it was not a counterfeit by any means, but it was not a model he recognized. It looked very similar to the Master Ultra Thin Moon only just released; was this an early prototype for a new model? Even as the question fluttered through his mind, he immediately chastised himself for his stupidity. There was clear wear on the band that spoke of it being worn for years, never mind the cracked face.
Custom-made, he eventually concluded, though even that answer did not quite sit right with him. Regardless, it spoke of a man who had wealth— or used to, in any case. The wear and damage on the watch told a new picture now, but he seemed to still be connected to some form of influence. His clothing was of a very rich quality, and that was not including the unique cloak. Perhaps he was now connected with someone in the Greater Tibetan area, or someone of wealth in the Indian subcontinent. Or from there, at any rate.
He let his eyes go up the length of the man’s sleeves. Cloth bands decorated the forearms of his otherwise seemingly-plain shirt, likely made of wool and hemp. He indulged himself and studied the embroidery on the edge of the cloak again. He received no further information concerning its origin and make beyond what he had already determined, but there was something about it that was absolutely enchanting.
But enough lingering; he finally turned his body to lay on his side and brought his eyes up to meet the bearer of this very odd ensemble of attire.
And he saw himself.
Within the Shadows (villain!AU) sequel that finalllyyy has a title, Inhibited Lodgings (I think this one is about at 85%! So soooonnnn)
When one of the nurses came in with dinner, Stephen hardly acknowledged him. The nurse set the tray on the overbed table and, after a quick, “Eat while it’s hot!” left the room.
Stephen ignored it. He continued his obsessive perusal of the tablet, shaky fingers managing to steady enough to click link after link after link.
Stark came in an hour later and the tray was still untouched. He quirked his brows up. “Y'know Doc, if you don’t eat, Doctor Cho is going to be very stern with you and you’ll feel terrible after that.”
He raised his head from the tablet at the sound of Stark’s voice, blinking. “What?” He then looked at the tray of food. “Oh… right. I forgot that was brought in.” He looked at the now stone-cold chicken and broccoli with a small grimace.
“I’ll have them make you another plate. Send that info up, FRI.” Stark sunk into one of the chairs beside the bed. “What has you so distracted, anyway?”
Stephen turned the tablet around to show him his screen, which had a list of all the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard 200 for all genres in 2011. “I only considered yesterday that there might be differences in music between my reality and this one. A check to see if my favorite artists existed here turned into something of a full day project.”
Stark was clearly interested. “No kidding. Did you find any differences?”
“Dozens. In some ways it’s amazing that it’s only that many across hundreds of artists and songs, but I cannot imagine not having Rocky’s training montage paired with ‘Eye of the Tiger.’ ”
“I know I’ve seen a couple of those films, but I couldn’t tell you the name of any training song off the top of my head,” he said. “But I’d probably remember a song with that name.”
He nodded. “Exactly! I can live without the 'Macarena’ and 'Kung Fu Fighting’, but that song made that sequence legendary.”
Stark’s lips twitched in amusement. “I’ll take your word for it. Anything particularly good from your reality that you found missing?”
“I’m still debating if losing all of Journey’s discography is worth never having to hear 'Don’t Stop Believing’ again.”
Time Travel Pseudo!villain Stephen aka Freakin Carmen Sandiego (yes, this is gonna happen. But it’s not happening until those two above are completed, and it’ll be written concurrently with the rest of the villain!Stephen series, as I suspect it will be on the longer side. The outline’s 4 pages long…)
He walked over and crossed his arms as Bruce replayed the video; it was definitely a better quality than the pixelated mess of everything else he’d seen so far. Even with the high-definition, though, the man’s fully-black outfit made him difficult to see against the night sky, and his face was completely covered by what looked like both a mask and hood. He’d be all-but-invisible without the glowing lights all around him. A gasp suddenly ran through the crowd, and the camera swiveled to look at the Palace of Westminster, now bereft of the tower. A few shouts then broke through, and the camera footage swung back to the night sky, but the man was gone.
“Where’d he go?” Tony asked as he leaned over Bruce and pressed both the replay and mute button.
“Uh, according to witnesses, after Elizabeth Tower vanished, he darted under the bridge— probably at the end with the screaming there— and disappeared.”
“I thought that was Big Ben,” he muttered, pressing replay again.
Bruce shook his head. “No, Big Ben’s the bell in Elizabeth Tower. I knew someone in college— British— who got rather annoyed over that misnomer. Really annoyed, actually.” He made a face to himself.
Tony, however, was busy squinting at a bit of the footage he had paused. “Does it look like he has a sort of— something— on his chest?”
The physicist leaned in and squinted alongside him. “Yeah. I’d say it almost looks like one of your arc reactors, but I don’t think your arc reactors do this.”
“But it could still be a power source,” Tony answered.
“Definitely,” Bruce answered. “It looks almost like he’s pulling from it.”
“That makes no sense, but a lot of this alien tech is nothing like anything that exists on Earth right now. I’d be interested in figuring out how it works.”
Bruce continued to peer at it. “So would I,” he said. “If you can keep it from S.H.I.E.L.D long enough to do so.”
Tony makes a face. “They have the scepter to play with. They can have it when I’m done.”
“You’re going to have to catch him first,” he pointed out.
“Pshh, after Loki, this’ll be easy-peasy. We’ll have him caught within two days.”
ARTS (just the two Stephens for now)
I didn’t have time last weekend to work on digital Stephen, but he’s still a lot farther ahead than when I last posted here sooooooo. (I won’t have time this weekend either, so… he’ll come sooner or later).
Tumblr media
Annddd I figured out what my ugly yellow corner square is gonna be. I’m doing fan art for a fan fic like a real nerd. Bringing out the prismacolors again. Right now I’m still in the ‘messing around with line art’ phase. I plan to do this while I’m at tabletop gaming on Sundays.
Tumblr media
And that’s that for WIPs. Now I need to go work on ficlets.

You know, everytime I see new information about the creators of voltron wanting things to be drastically different the more it seems that they legitimately wanted to make a different story than the one greenlit. I just wonder if they were allowed to keep things the way they wanted, could the set up arcs better no matter how tragic? They had alright humor and good sense of pacing with action just sloppy character/plot work as they floundered story changes.
NO.
You realize that sloppy character/plot work is the story, right? You literally just gave the definition of a badly written story, and you think if the EPs had gotten to write a hypothetical tragedy, not a kids’ show, automatically they would have been able to write a coherent story?
Let me repeat.
NO.
Plot is a series of events, selected by author, that brings around the resolution of a conflict. The bare minimum any writer should be able to do is create a story that makes sense.
JDS and LM did nothing of the sort.
- The clone subplot had no resolution or back story.
- Shiro and Lance’s arcs were abandoned.
- Keith became a leader leading no one. (Seriously.)
- Allura went to Oriande to learn her powers, but “the power was inside her all along,” i.e she never had to go. (And no, it’s not the journey. The journey did nothing to help her perspective. It got her closer to Lotor - which could have been done while they struggled to learn their new powers.)
- The EPs literally have no explanation for what happened with Lotor, either.
- Honerva says she has no motherly instincts in “The Black Paladins” after she used Kuron as a baby monitor in “Blood Duel,” and then she goes on a mission to be reunited with her son and her husband - with her dead son in her mecha. …I don’t even know what to say here. That’s just insane.
Oh, and here’s an example of how the EPs approved the MFE pilots being called to ready for battle THREE TIMES in less than two episodes before they were actually deployed.
And what we know about this “different story” is - the EPs wanted to kill Shiro. No wait, Keith. No wait, Hunk. And they would have killed Pidge while she was saving her family if there wasn’t a “no killing rule,” so they couldn’t kill anyone - but wait, they could kill Shiro and they got the greenlight to kill Hunk, and then they killed Allura, just for good measure.
…what?
Dude, they can’t even get their story straight in one interview. VLD was a freakin’ mess, and you think the EPs had a different story they wanted to tell that was or would have been magically amazing?
NOOOOOO.
Circling around to your other thoughts - the pacing of action - that’s a director’s role, which by the way, JDS and LM were both coming to VLD.
Humor? Not sure what show you were watching, but the humor in the last few seasons was terrible. Pidge getting yelled at by her mom for saving her dad and brother? What? How is that funny? That’s just insane - again.
(Go watch Carmen Sandiego for the humor that went missing from VLD after Season 3.)
Look, I don’t know why you place confidence in people WITH ABSOLUTELY NO WRITING CREDITS prior to VLD or even prior to Season 6, where in one episode, JDS destroyed the show’s main theme - found family. They wrote only two other episodes - “Launch Day,” which was cringe-worthy to me, and “The End is the Beginning,” in which Allura was killed.
Stop giving these people any writing credit. They didn’t “flounder” story changes. The writing process includes revisions. These people can’t write a coherent story. That’s it. There’s nothing more to it.

Carmen Sandiego (2019) Hogwarts Sorting
Tumblr media
Welcome back to my Hogwarts sorting series on my blog. Today I'm going for a series i just got into. And a quick one at that. They were pretty easy to sort.
Spent yesterday watching the new Carmen Sandiego series. And while i admit it must be weird to see her as an anti-hero opposed to a full villain, i rather enjoyed it. And since i love to sort... Here we go!
Tumblr media
Julia Argent: Ravenclaw
So far through this series we've seen her be the only reasonable one after Carmen Sandiego. (I mean Cheif at first but i wont go too much into it. I wanna save Cheif until we learn more about her). She's the the one to keep Davineaux in check (even if he keeps ignoring her). I kind of see her as the Zhu-lee to his Verrick. (if any of you watch LoK)
Tumblr media
Chase Devineaux: Gryffindor
Okay, i LOVE this guy. But he also gets under my skin at the same time. His stubborn arrogance is SO entertaining, but you can tell behind it all is a man who is trying to do what's right and capture a dangerous criminal. Even if sometimes his ego gets in the way.
Also, I'll gladly add that i love everytime Carmen and Devineaux share a scene together. It's not like she acts in a way that would normally make him think she was a good guy. If he was going on his interactions with her alone, i'd understand his opinion that she is the bad guy.
Tumblr media
Zack: Hufflepuff
The only character i wasn't so sure on. But i think his loyalty to the cause and helpfulness is easily seen. I may be proven wrong in future seasons, but for now this is what I'm going with.
Ivy: Gryffindor
Similar to Zack, wasn't SO sure about her. But she is pretty reckless and strong-willed. So going with Gryffindor for now.
Player: Ravenclaw
Yea... Pretty obvious. He's the tech genius, the oracle of the group. Though i really love his friendship with Carmen. I wanna see that explored a bit more. Especially because they only ever share scenes over calls.
Tumblr media
Carmen Sandiego: Slytherin
OF COURSE SHE IS. Chaotic neutral anti-hero. I freakin love her. She's so misgievious, yet has this moral code that makes her a compelling character. And let's face it, she totally embraces how people see her and thinks it's fun. Even if she is the good guy, there's that part of her that likes being seen as the bad-guy. And she plays the part well. Cunning, ambitious, totally planning to take down who ever crosses her, yet protecting the people who deserves it. She's a total slytherin and i can't get enough. Sign me up.

How come I have yet to hear anyone talk about the new Carmen Sandiego cartoon on Netflix, like they did for She-Ra or Voltron? It's been out for days and not a peep about it on social media.

Tagging Game 🌻
again, sticking under a readmore so nobody has to look at this if they dont wanna
Rules: answer the questions then tag as many people as you can think of who you want to know better
🌼Star Sign~  I’m a Libra!
🌼Height~  Ummmmm somewhere between 5′0 and 5′3? I always forget!
🌼Put your playlist on shuffle and name the first three songs~
o no you’re all gonna see my nerdy taste in obscure or blatantly mainstream music
1. The Bonnie Song, Nightcore ver
2. Me and My Baby - Steam Powered Giraffe
3. Faded - Alan Walker
ok that could’ve been a lot worse
🌼Grab the nearest book, turn to page 21 and write down the first line~
Aww hECK there’s no books on my desk lemme just grab one from UHHHHH the closest end of the shelf
--sleep, his throat was tight, he was thirsty; he arose to go and drink from his carafe and he opened the window; the sky was covered with stars, a hot wind was blowing; in the distance dogs howled. He turned his head toward Les Bertaux.
Okay let me explain! I’ve never read this book, nor do I have any idea what it’s about, but I found it in an antique store and the cover is absolutely gorgeous, and I collect old books! This one is called Madam Bovary, mine is a translated reprint from 1949, though the original text seems to be from 1857, if the original dated author’s note means anything.
🌼Have you ever had a song/poem written about you/for you~ lmfao no thanks I’d be afraid if someone was that hopelessly romantic toward me
🌼Do you believe in ghosts~ Yes? but people think that’s dumb so I don’t talk about it
🌼Do you believe in aliens~ .....Maybe??? I mean surely there must be something out there
🌼Do you drive~ Nope! I can barely run my sewing machine you think I’m gonna willingly be the one in charge of a two ton hurtling death machine? Not happening!
🌼Last movie you watched~ oh no don’t make me admit this. HECK ok it was some random movie from 2015 that popped up on youtube as “free with ads” and tbh I’ve just started watching any of those that I see in my recommended just to see what they are. anyway this one was called The Escort and it turned out to actually be a really wholesome movie about people learning to better themselves of their bad habits or sins and this journalist guy helping an escort lady to reconsider her life and choose a safer path dont judge me it was good
(it would’ve been The Shape of Water if I could freakin FIND that movie somewhere that isn’t $15 to rent it digitally. netflix pls)
🌼Any obsessions~ ummmm?? what even counts toward this lmao I feel like I like things a normal amount? well anytime I get a new interest I obsess over that for awhile. Right now I’ve been really into that new Carmen Sandiego reboot on netflix!
🌼In a relationship~ uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
🌼How many siblings~ Just one! an older sister. she’s got a great handle on this ‘adulting’ thing, she can’t find her socks!
Tagging~ nobody but I will call out @smiles-advice for tagging meeee and making me admit my bad taste in media!

multi muse game: Player (Carmen sandiego 2019), Johnathan Carnahan (The mummy animated series, and Miguel (the road to eldorado)
multi - muse game     :    suggest up to three muses for the mun to add to their blog.
Tumblr media
OOOoohhh!! Good suggestions!!
Player is such a smart boy! But as for the terms of his character, I’d feel a little wishy-washy trying to write him. He’s a good hacker and a really good friend to Carmen, but I’m not sure where I would take his character from there. If S2 takes him places, I will definitely consider!
I’ve never watched the Mummy animated series, and I actually haven’t watched the movie all the way through. But I know Johnathan is a good boy! Live action muses just kinda trip me up.
I FREAKIN LOVE MIGUEL!!! HE’S SUCH A GOOD, HANDSOME BOY!!! And he’s played by Ke.nneth Br,anagh so that’s awesome! I would love to explore more of his backstory and such. I think the only good way for me to have Miguel, is that if I had a wonderful Tulio to write with! andshipwithbccomeonepeoplethey’reinlove

Scaling back from something like God & Amara was something I was so glad to hear they were planning on doing before the season started.  Yet I can't help but feel like they've just been paying lip service to the idea.  To make a lesser threat still be threatening after everything, what they needed to do was give it nuance and make it require Sam and Dean to adjust their approach instead of having it build up in the same old way as a direct confrontation of Winchesters versus Antagonist #N.
The setup we were told was BMOL vs. hunters, but we really haven't seen that beyond some vague hand-waving in that general direction.  We've just seen the BMOL with their overpowered gadgets and entirely off-screen thinning of the monster population.  Which is about on a level with Schrodinger's souls in the veil for unrealized potential and lack of impact.  Now, apparently (still haven't watched last week's ep), the BMOL have “menacingly” declared they're totally gonna take out the Winchesters!  Especially when you add in some off-screen supposed-to-be-ominous higher ups and you consider there's been no indication pointing towards anything but the same old transparent flimflam where every character and every gadget has or lacks exactly the abilities required to jam its square pegishness through the round hole of the “plot”?   How is this not the same thing with the names changed - do they write their season arcs by filling in Mad Libs?  After everybody else and Amara, how do they expect this is not about as threatening as a declawed kitten with a big pink bow on (and approximately a million times less interesting)?  There’s no indication these guys, even the off-screen ones, aren’t just a handful of humans with a superiority complex and no clue what they’re getting into when it comes to the Winchesters.  Sure TV is episodic and there’s always going to be a certain cyclical nature to its plots, but seriously, after God’s freakin’ sister and Lucifer returning and a partridge in a pear tree there really needed to be something to make this different to make it feel like a real, tangible threat and not just an informed one.
Likewise, the devil baby mama drama is version five thousand three hundred and seventy six of Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego the arc plot character, gosh, we just don't know!  Worse, trying to build up nephilim as world destroyers and adding Knights Princes of Hell is directly falling back into the hole of trying to scale up their villains to infinity and beyond.  Both don’t fit well with previous canon and one is not only an obvious ripoff of a previously flubbed storyline, but could potentially do the same kind of damage to Azazel by implication that they’ve been relentlessly directly doing to Lucifer.  By making him about as threatening and interesting as a recurring case of hemorrhoids, they've done their damnedest to make everything the character has ever been a joke.  Perhaps ironically, I think that’s just about the only way the writers have actually managed to lower the stakes this season - that and allowing the characters to express even less realistic emotional weight and reaction to ongoing events (a feat considering previous seasons' efforts).
After last season, when we had so many good episodes that were MotW between the mess of an arc (which at least ultimately attempted a new kind of climax), I really hoped for more.  A gradual and nuanced reveal of the BMOL could have easily been executed through a lot of little moments in MotW episodes.  Maybe they need an adjustment period to move forward with the new showrunner and several new writers, maybe the season climax will blow me away, maybe the whole thing will feel more cohesive and less directionless re-watched without the week-long gaps in between (they usually do to at least some extent).  To be fair, looking the list over, there are certainly more episodes I want to re-watch from this season than there were in season ten.   I'd like to believe they figured out they were going through plots too fast and that both of the major plots this season will carry over and turn into something awesome next season, though if they can't make the buildup more fresh and engaging than this ... I'd be a lot more confident if it didn't feel like they were both making the same old mistakes and adding yet more new ones.
