Since "My Darling, My Honey" is finally completed, what's next?

(There, there...don't be too sad! I'm not going anywhere!)

For writing, I'm mostly going to take a bit of a break- but if you guys have any ideas or headcannons you'll like me to take a look at and maybe do a little "imagine" here and there, im open to that!

So- (mostly Alastor) headcannon/requests are now open!

Also, I definitely want to continue my little "Hazbin Hotel Dress-Up" series of drawings. I've drawn Charlie in a cute outfit, and I intend to getting to all the rest or the cast including: Vaggie, Lucifer, Lilith, Alastor, Angel, Husk, Nifty, Sir Pentious, Carmilla, Mimzy, Vox, Velvette, and (ugh) even Valentino. I even want to draw Lute, Adam Emily and Sera in cute/cool outfits too! (Let me know if I'm forgetting anyone)

After I draw all those designs, I want to try making illustrations of all of them in my style- maybe I'll make prints or something of them someday!

But for the short term, I basically have a lot of art ideas- mostly hazbin hotel ideas lol.

(Also, I'd like to start doing some Hazbin Hotel screenshot redraws for fun so if you have any- send them into my ask box/submissions!)

Things I just need to know/see in S2 of Hazbin Hotel:

Why Alastor was gone for so long, where he was and what he was doing. Also if this has something to do with Charlie not getting news from Lilith for seven years (same amount of time Alastor was missing) and why he came back after all that time

Who has Alastor on a leash (must be someone really powerful. Lilith maybe?) and why he made a deal with them

Why Adam was an angel if he was a mortal soul before (he even calls Alastor a mortal soul like he himself wasn’t one in the first place, like what???)

If Sir Pentious managed to get to Heaven after being “forever” killed by Adam what happened to the other souls who were killed in Hell before? Died died? Where did they go? Did they just stop existing? For a sinner to get to Heaven they need to be killed in a definitive way like Sir Pentious “was”?

How Husk was like when he was an Overlord and what happened exactly that made him make a deal with Alastor and how exactly this saved his powers

What it takes for a demon to be considered an Overlord and how they stop being one.

Why Lilith left Charlie and Lucifer and why she went to Heaven. Also why she separated Charlie from Lucifer (it seems so in the flashback) and why Lucifer never really showed up after that

What was Lilith’s deal with Lute

More insight on Alastor, Mimzy, Husk and Niffty. What exactly is their relationship, how many of them Alastor knew in life (just Mimzy?) and how Mimzy knows the other two

More insight on everyone’s life before coming to hell including how they died and why they went to hell (actually I don’t know why I typed in “more” when we clearly have none lol)

Why Alastor is more powerful than the usual mortal souls and if that’s because he gained more power killing other Overlords (if not, why he did it)

What favor Alastor will ask from Charlie and what his intentions are exactly

Are all exorcists women? If yes, why? If not why does it seem to be the case?

More insight on Rosie and Carmilla (I just really liked these two) and Zestial too. He’s mysterious

More insight on the Vees (even though I really hate Valentino but Vox and Velvette are iconic)

Why Vox invited Alastor to be part of the Vees. His hate comes from that or is there something more?

You got it! I do want to warn you tho: The show contains violence, death, abuse, sex, and suicidal ideation.

The prologue is just Lucifer likes free thinking, so he steals Adam's wife Lilith and then they trick Adam and his new wife Eve into eating the forbidden fruit, and now hell exists.

The princess of Hell, Charlie, is trying to redeem sinners to avoid overpopulation without the same cruel tactics of keeping the population down that Heaven uses- mass extermination once a year. To do this, she opens a hotel called the Happy Hotel that rehabilitates sinners, that she runs with the help of her girlfriend Vaggie and her friend Angel Dust.

Unfortunately for her image, Angel is currently engaged in a turf war with a demon named Sir Pentious, fighting alongside his best friend Cherri Bomb. Which. Yknow. Not exactly helping him redeem himself.

After a bit, a fearsome demon named Alastor appears at the door, offering to help Charlie run the hotel- not to rehabilitate sinners, but to be entertained when said sinners fail. He introduces Niffty to be the maid, and Husk to be the bartender (who Angel immediately begins flirting with). Alastor beats up Sir Pentious, renames the hotel to Hazbin instead of Happy, and that's the end of the pilot.

I cant explain every single episode in great detail- especially if you decide to watch it- so these descriptions are gonna be much more brief. 1 paragraph per episode, MAX.

Charlie's dad, Lucifer, lets her go to a meeting with Heaven, where she's introduced to Adam- the first man and head of the exterminators. He disagrees with her plan to redeem sinners, since he doesn't think they can change, and moves the next extermination to half a year from now.

Sir Pentious returns for another fight with Alastor. We're next introduced to the Vees- three powerful demons named Vox, Valentino, and Velvette. While Vox and Alastor have a rivalry, Pentious has actually been sent into the Hotel by the Vees to act like he wants redemption, but actually just to infiltrate them. After Vox tells him to kill himself (im not kidding), Charlie allows him a chance to redeem himself, which he takes. Vaggie and Angel are pretty pissed about this but it's fine

Alastor goes to a meeting with the other overlords (just demons that have massive power, specifically over certain territories), where Velvette starts talking trash to Carmilla- an overlord who also sells weapons. Velvette accuses her of killing an angel that was found headless in Hell after an extermination, and later it's revealed to Vaggie that she DID kill the angel to protect her children. She doesn't want the secret to slip, because if Heaven finds out, it means war.

Angel is revealed to be in an abusive relationship with Valentino. He's a porn star, and Val is his director and boss. Charlie, blissfully unaware, tries to get him off work for the day to do trust exercises, but Val threatens Angel that he'll hurt Charlie if he can't make her leave. Angel lashes out, shoots the porn, and returns to the hotel bar with Husk to drink away his sorrows. Husk tries to get him to open up, so he leaves for another bar. Husk follows him there too, and he explains that Angel isn't the only one who's damaged and that they're both losers.

Lucifer shows up and is depressed, and he has a rivalry with Alastor about who is the better dad. Al's friend Mimzy shows up out of nowhere, lore-dumps, and then it turned out she just went to the hotel to escape the cops because she stole a car. Alastor politely tells her to fuck off. Charlie and Lucifer have a conversation about how the hotel could work, with Charlie pushing Lucifer to let her go to Heaven and try to make her argument in person. He caves, and Charlie excitedly tells Vaggie she's coming too.

Charlie and Vaggie arrive in Heaven, and are introduced to an angel named Sera and her daughter Emily. Charlie and Emily agree that sinners should have the chance to be redeemed, which Adam again shuts down, saying that they had their chance. Vaggie is revealed by Adam to be a fallen angel- and not just an angel, but one of the exterminators, punished to life in Hell because she saved a child. Charlie begins fearing for what else Vaggie could be lying about, but before she can panic more, the opposing viewpoints turn Heaven and Hell to battle. Also, the whole time this is going on, Angel, Husk, Niffty, Pentious, and Cherri are getting drinks, and seeing the supposed "redeemed souls" drinking is actually what sells it to the angels that they can't be saved.

Everyone prepares for the battle. Charlie and Vaggie make up, Vaggie trains with Carmilla, Angel, Husk, and Niffty spend more time together, Pentious catches feels for Cherri, and the Vees get their popcorn ready. Pentious tries to tell Cherri he's interested for like the whole episode and ends up just saying "please don't die ok bye"

Battle. Alastor put up a force field around the hotel. It stops working. Angel and Husk make sex jokes while committing several counts of murder, Niffty stabs anything she can see, Alastor and Adam fight but Alastor turns into a puddle and leaves, Pentious kisses Cherri and then fucking dies, and Charlie and Vaggie are fighting side by side. Lucifer shows up and tells Adam "you get no bitches because I stole them both", and then Niffty stabs Adam to death. Everyone sings and then HOLY SHIT PENTIOUS MADE IT TO HEAVEN

Okay! So this has been bothering me. Let’s break down what each song in Harbin Hotel is about and see if we can’t look at it from a big picture.

Happy Day in Hell— Charlie sings her ‘I want song’ and establishes her motivation and outlook as well as what hell is like.

Hell is Forever— Charlie pitches the Hotel to Adam, fails, and kick starts the main conflict. Adam has moved up the next extermination.

It Starts With Sorry— Charlie sings to Pentious about redemption, reinforcing the theme of the show and setting him up for a payoff later.

Stayed Gone— Vox and Alistor establish their rivalry.

Respectless— Velvette accuses Carmilla of being weak. Establishes tension between those in power and those on the come up.

Whatever It Takes— Vaggie and Carmilla sing about their dedication to their loved ones. Sets up the idea that demons can care about each other.

Poison— Angeldust sings about his addiction and abuse at the hands of Valentino. It’s heartbreaking. Also establishes the kinds of things that hold sinners back from redemption (self worth/delusion)

Loser Baby— Husk commiserates with Angel about their shared suffering and appeals to Angel to be more honest about the reality of his situation. Ships set sail.

Hell’s Greatest Dad— Alistor and Lucifer fight over who should be Charlie’s dad. It’s hilarious. Mizzie crashes the song as a bit of a meta joke.

More Than Anything— Lucifer and Charlie reconcile and sing a heartbreaking duet. If you didn’t feel something you’re dead inside.

Welcome to Heaven— Saint Peter welcomes Charlie and Vaggie to heaven. Where everyone is hot. Vital to understanding heaven but maybe a bit indulgent.

You Didn’t Know— the turning point of the show. Charlie presents her case to heaven and is interrogated by Adam and Lute. She manages to win over Emily and they stand in solidarity against heaven’s hypocrisy as represented by Sera. Charlie fails to stop the next Extermination.

Out For Love— Carmilla teaches Vaggie how to fight for love and beat angels. It’s rad. Picks up themes established by ‘whatever it takes.’

Ready for This— Charlie convinces the cannibals to help them fight the angels and accepts her role as leader of Hell. It’s very Les Mis.

More Than Anything (reprise)— Charlie and Vaggie sing about their gay love for each other and then kiss. It’s great.

Finale— Charlie memorializes Pentious and reflects on her failures and triumphs. It’s a big ensemble song but is mostly Lucifer and Charlie’s song with a little cut out for Alistor/Vox to tease coming S2 conflicts.

So? What can we learn about the structure of the show? Charlie is clearly the main character. She has almost double the singing parts of anyone else in the show. The next most important characters are Adam (our villain and stand in for the Patriarchy) and then Vaggie and Carmilla. Vox and Alistair are there to set up seeds for season 2 and Angel gets exactly one episode (two songs) to take the spotlight for a bottle episode.

I don’t see how you could say this show ISN’T female led. Even the male characters (with the exception of Angel and Husk) ALL are there to support Charlie. Lucifer is there to support her. Alistor is there to help her grow. Pentious is there to show that her plan can work. The only exception is Carmilla who is there to support Vaggie.

Criticize it for its relationship to people of color (all the bad guys are white! Yay? Sera may be a POC but boy it’s hard to tell). Criticize it for maybe not giving its characters room to breathe (it’s an 8 episode ensemble show, not a lot of room). Criticize it for its dated ‘edgy humor.’

But to say it doesn’t do its female characters justice? What show are you watching? Love to go into Charlie’s arc (which is honestly really solid) but this is too long lol

🍬 ⇢ post an unpopular opinion about a popular fandom character

Gotta be honest, once I get into a fandom I will leave the main tags as soon as I find my niche and a group of blogs to follow and a few Discord servers to join, and not venture out into the main fandom again. Idk what's popular. I have complained about many takes, but I am also very forgetful so.... Uh, Vox is asexual, Alastor is actually a terrible person (affectionate), Valentino absolutely has a tragic backstory (and is still so evil <3 ), Velvette is literally The Worst and kinda a pick-me girl (I love her), Charlie doesn't understand how to help people and it is detrimental to the people she's trying to help (I also love her). Carmilla is so ridiculous and I don't understand shipping her with Velvette. I don't get Husk (derogatory, but only slightly and mostly in a 'I don't think his writing was consistent, and he was used - as many characters on this series were - as more of a plot device than a complete character in his own right. His dialogue was thrown in to tell-not-show aspects of other characters in a way that felt inorganic to me, which turned me off of his character almost completely' way). Boom, there, so many unpopular opinions <3

Velvette is so connected to phones and apps and things of that modern tech nature. Therefore: Velvette also broadcasts and recieves radio waves, but only those in the Bluetooth spectrum. She can AirDrop memes onto Vox's face (or, in canon, call his TV head directly, bypassing his phone). Vox is so absolutely not replacing the quiet ease he and Alastor used to share with their similar thinking/perceiving/broadcasting methods (it's alll radio waves) with Velvette. Totally. Totally. His past relationships would never~ cloud how he treats her.

❄️ ⇢ what's your dream theme/plot for a fic, and who would write it best?

Well first of all Me I'm writing it!! So incredibly slowly and badly, but I am writing it nonetheless 😤 I actually have two or three or a dozen ideal dream ideas rattling around in my brain. Obviously, my beloved Damaged Nerve where I throw 20 ideas I enjoy together into one fic (or at least talk about doing that bc. I am always getting distracted instead of updating it). Service shark Vark!!! The VoxVal non-consenual consensual non-consent (it makes sense to me)! Velvette!! Vox killing angels with his bare hands! And getting an arm and half his head cut off (he gets better immediately bc he is all easily replaceable parts)! Charlie and Vaggie watching a Sinner attacking Exorcists right before Charlie was supposed to present her rehabilitation project and having to defend ideas, which is suddenly made even more difficult for her because now it looks like Overlords are planning to fight back against the Exterminations, and he didn't win but neither did the angels, so maybe Hell can fight back against Heaven (wasn't that why the Exterminations happen? Because Heaven is afraid of them uprising? Well, maybe they should be afraid...) Vaggie fallen angel feelings (those were her sisters and she's so bitter about them and she's so scared for them)! The timeline of Exterminations being moved up and Vox getting blamed for it! (Sinners who were previously excited about what he did turn against him bc of the backlash from Heaven and from other Sinners.) Carmilla hating the Vees! Inane and uniformed, smug wannabes! (She still killed an Exorcist for real tho, and Vox only wounded the ones he fought. She thinks she's better than him because she fought to protect the people she loves. Vox literally also did that, except it wasn't people it was a shark. She'd hate that too.) VoxVal horrible terrible no good very unhealthy relationship! VoxValVel also horrible relationship <3 They love each other, they can't live without each other <3 None of them are allowed to leave this ship, even when it's sinking <3 Vox won't lose a partner again; no one else can leave him like Alastor did.

But right now I've been working on a Vox & The Vees-centric rape recovery (or, well, there's not much recovery happening yet. It is just a long and drawn out breakdown where they madly scramble to resecure their power and influence and become more powerful so no one can ever hurt any of them again, and become so codependent) fic and it is everything to me and I do not have it really plotted out, I just have so many Thoughts and vaguely connected scenes for it that I bother people on discord with (hi to any people on discord reading this. Thank u for listening <3 )

Also I am (thanks to your ask about Vox's biology from earlier), daydreaming about a fic I have lovingly named Planned Obsolescence (tho I'm gonna have to make sure no one's taken that title yet) about Vox upgrading himself and upgrading himself and upgrading himself and he can never stay satisfied because the world marches on and he has to march with it, he can't be left behind because he needs to be the one innovating and leading. And upgrading himself.

🧩 ⇢ what will make you click away from a fanfiction immediately?

Look I'm looking for things that are so specific that if a fic looks like it might be somewhat about what I want, I'll read it. I will click away if you call Alastor a w*ndigo tho.

Wait I thought of something else and then this next part got long and it's also about rape, so I'm throwing it behind a read more

Also!! Holy fuck I just remembered but I've run into it twice now. The Implication that rape is worse when it happens to someone who is already sex repulsed. Like specifically in these scenarios the rape was not a punishment not an attempt at corrective rape. Like, that I would get, actually, if the motivation itself was a hate crime, which adds a whole other dimension to worry about. But, no. That wasn't. I can't even articulate the poor taste it left in my mouth, it's just. Why would you make a character more horrified to learn their friend was raped after they also learned that their friend is ace? "He never would have wanted it-" hello?????? Yeah! That's why it's called rape????

(But also - while I do absolutely love reading about sex repulsed aro/ace characters (lol they're so me) - oftentimes a big part of what I am looking for in a story about rape recovery is a character struggling with the fact that their body did "enjoy" the physical sensation. That sex is supposed to happen with someone you love/are attracted to/trust, and this was a perversion of it, and it fucks up how you view future sexual relationships.) (And like, the physical sensation being pleasurable while your mind feels only disgust and repulsed is. An aspect that I feel like many can relate to, not only sex repulsed aces. Unless I'm projecting??) (Of course, recovery from the perspective of a character who was sex repulsed and remains so is also so so good.) (In general, it's a topic that needs to be portrayed with a kind of nuance and understanding that is often hard for an author to find the right words for. I'm sure I've even written thing poorly here, and inevitably said something that will be hurtful to a person with a different perspective than my own. Sorry! But such is the reality of everyone being individuals, unfortunately. The things that bring some people comfort will cause other people distress.)
