Idk who needs to hear this but human empathy is good, actually. Empathy is not some kind of gift we only reserve to Good Deserving People and withhold from Bad People We Don't Like. It's so deeply ingrained that it comes naturally for most people and that is good. If it means having empathy for people who wouldn't feel any for me, you know what, I'll take it.

You can feel human empathy for thousands of desperate migrants who keep sinking off the European coasts and for a handful of rich guys who may have slowly suffocated to death in total darkness because they were stupid enough to spend 250k each to get themselves into a death trap and plunge down to the world's most famous shipwreck.

Empathy is the ability to understand what they went through and how they must have felt. It has nothing to do with moral judgment, or condoning actions, or wanting to leap at anyone's defense - let alone with mourning them. And it can suck, to feel some empathy even for someone you hate. It absolutely does.

But I hope I'll never see the day where I won't at least flinch, for a brief moment, before any kind of human suffering.

I don't respond to this type of garbage anymore, but this pissed me off in a special way. I addressed requests to comment on Giorgia's insta stories by explaining that I don't consider myself a fan and she is no longer within the scope of Maneskin. However, I'll comment on her ADHD posts as a ND blogger if people send me those screenshots. But I am not interested in dissecting her private life for entertainment. AND YET

Disclaimer: The allegations being referenced do not name anyone. They were accompanied by a vague descriptor from which people drew conclusions. The allegations do not come from a credible source. They were posted with pre-meditated, ulterior motive.

This is the exception to the rule. Believing victims is statistically supported. However, that data wasn't gathered from populations experiencing the potential for fame as a consequence of making allegations.

There is no evidence that the allegations originated from Giorgia. She did not corroborate the allegations, in fact the opposite. Giorgia released a statement that she had never heard of the allegations before and didn't know they were being made. The suspected subject of the allegations continues to follow her. She also asked people not to go looking for the allegations, just as I am here.

I was never going to touch this subject again, but any level of misinformation around it is frightening because it could have ruined someone's reputation. But hey, as long as anon gets some attention right? I'm sure this was made under the guise of exposing Giorgia, but everyone knows that she is just a vehicle to obtain the social validation anon is starved for. So fuck the target of these allegations! Lets circulate some lies about what almost ruined his life! Fuck his feelings and his future. And by extension, the band's future. Because anon needs to feel important! Anon needs to feel special. And that matters more than anyone or anything.

Acting exclusively out of self-interest by targeting the object of your envy under the guise of holding bigots accountable gets right under my skin, anon.

I have never understood the hostility that (some) fans of big streamers have towards people who are enthusiastic about lore.

I only got into the DSMP because I liked the characters and wanted a change of pace from the kinds of books I was reading for my English degree. I get so much more joy out of watching and analyzing interesting storytelling than I do from almost anything these people do out-of-character. I don't see anything wrong with that.

It's not disrespectful to the streamers to engage only with the parts of their content that you enjoy, as long as you're not being rude about it and pressuring them to produce content that doesn't make them happy to create. Somebody else will be entertained. That doesn't have to be you.

Ok, so I joked about the Titan looking like a fleshlight which haha funny. But I had no idea Paul-Henri Nargeolet died in that thing. I’m legit upset. Nargeolet was the leading researcher on all things Titanic and deeply valued and respected that site. I’d understand why the other three guests would feel safe-ish (as we know the 19 year old didn’t want to go but went for Father’s Day since his dad loved the Titanic) after seeing Nargeolet was also attending.

Why tf did he get on that submersible though? Even James Cameron was baffled by his decision to go. Like the guy knew the dos and donts of subs going this deep. So it might be nerdy, but I’m a little heartbroken about this. The Titanic historian community has lost a valuable member all because of some dumbfuck’s hubris.

The way people talk about the conspiracy re: Cobain's death make me so fucking sick. The entitlement to the internal life of a total stranger to them. Whenever I see it it's just the most horrific ways of discussing suicidality and abuse. Getting murdered by your spouse is one of the most severe yet common/classic examples of domestic abuse we have as a society and people think that's grounds for memes. People are so used to celebrity drama trending on twitter they think anyone with a scrap of publicity owes them constant life updates, selfies, and photos of their private jet, and a constantly updated instagram of what they had for breakfast that day. It's stupid, because 6 and his team are literally a small group of friends posting on youtube like literally any normal person. They're not some huge deal, they just got unlucky enough to have a fandom and actual talent go into their content. The internet has an awful tendency to form parasocial relationships and treat online creators as idols and it needs to stop. I've seen fandoms for channels who were quite literally run by just a bunch of college aged dudes fall apart. And that's not unusual, you'll find lots of channels with a similar demographic. I can not understate how much ISPP are just normal people and them being super private is ALSO normal.
