The Last Room At The End of The Hall by Corporate_cards (G, 219 w.,  1 Ch. || Fluff) – All things can wait, for finally things work, in the last room at the end of the hall. Part 1 of Random Things I've Written In Class -- Johnlock
Octopus by glass_rose_paperweight (G, 705 w., 1 Ch. || Established Relationship, Fluff, Bed Sharing, Limpet Sherlock) – A week after Sherlock and John finally get together, and John is finding sharing a bed with Sherlock Holmes to be ... difficult, sometimes. If not downright suffocating.
A Comprehensive Taxonomy of Tobacco-Ash by Silvergirl (E, 11,475 w., 2 Ch. || No TRF AU || Cranky Sherlock, Alternating POV’s, Self-Esteem Issues, Jealous John, Pining John, Confessions, First Kiss, Frottage, Bed Sharing, Sensuality, Cuddling, Touching) – A handsome academic approaches Sherlock about publishing his magnum opus on tobacco-ash in a prestigious scientific journal. Sherlock is quite flattered and flustered, and John’s nose is out of joint. In this little AU there is no Fall and no Mary. Instead, there is humor and smut. Truly a disproportionate amount of smut.
holding steady by darcylindbergh (E, 12,724 w., 4 Ch. || Post S4, Love Confessions, First Kiss, Growing Old, Gone Fishing, Mood without Plot, Soft Sherlock, Caring Sherlock, POV John Third Person, Anxious Sherlock, First Kiss, Touching, Feeling Old, Sherlock Worship, Crying Sherlock, Cuddles, Comforting, Introspection, Retirement, Hand Holding, Forehead Kisses, Caring John, Bed Sharing, Emotional Love Making) – Sitting on a thick wool blanket at the end of a rickety dock side-by-side, legs dangling over the edge, a styrofoam container of wet, dark dirt between them, they’re fishing. John knows what this is about. This is about finally figuring it out.
A Hooligans’ Game Played By Gentlemen by scullyseviltwin (E, 15,213 w., 1 Ch. || First Time, Rugby as Foreplay, Porn with Lots of Plot, John POV, Ogling, Body Appreciation, Cranky Sherlock, Slow Burn, Bed Sharing, Cuddling, Touching, Heavy Petting, Blow Job, Botttomlock) – In which John wants to get back in shape, does so, joins a rugby league and has sex with Sherlock Holmes. In that order.
How To Unfold a Heart by elwinglyre (E, 25,477 w., 7 Ch. || Post S4 Fix It, BAMF John, Mentioned Eurus, POV First Person Sherlock, Case Fic, Fluff, Slow Burn Topping from the Bottom, 3 Yr Old Rosie, Introspection, Sexual Fantasies, John Worship, Ogling, Hand Holding, Kidnapping, Domesticity, Sherlock Whump, First Kiss/Time, Doctor John, Caring John, Soft Sherlock, Sensuality, Touching, Crying, Love Confessions, Anxious Sherlock, Rimming, Toplock, Fingering, Bossy Bottom John) – To Sherlock’s dismay, John’s return to Baker Street with Rosie is only temporary. Sherlock’s daily visits to Regent Park with John and Rosie illuminate his lost childhood memories and missed opportunities. But with each trip to the park, Sherlock also feels a growing sense of hope. That is until the past horrors return unexpectedly in a cryptic note folded in the shape of a heart. To decipher the message, Sherlock must uncover the nature of the hearts around him, including his own.
Domestic Matters by ohlooktheresabee (M, 29,404 w., 6 Ch. || Fantasy AU || First Meetings, Developing Relationship, Fluff and Angst, Domestic Fluff, BAMF Sherlock, BAMF John, Idiots in Love, Misunderstandings, Supernatural Elements, Implied / Referenced Child Abuse, Elf Sherlock, Human/Elf Politics, Emotional Abuse, Possessive Sherlock, Anxious Sherlock, Buddy Greg) – All flatmates need to work out domestic matters between them - who does the dishes, who takes out the rubbish, how often does the carpet need to be vacuumed - these are part and parcel of sharing a living space together. However, when you’re an elf and your flatmate is going to be a human you just met, this rather complicates things…Very loosely inspired by 'The Elves and The Shoemaker' by The Brothers Grimm.
Lucifer's Gardens by ampersand_ch (E, 32,679 w., 12 Ch. || GERMAN VERSION|| Romance, Friendship, Friends to Lovers, Murder, Poison / Drugging, Mystery, John Undercover, Academic Club, Therapy, Rituals, Jungian Archetypes, Doctors & Physicians, Grief/Mourning, Esotericism, Hospitals, Emotional Hurt/Comfort, Love Confessions, John Falls In Love With Another Man, Jealous Sherlock, Crying, Doctor John, Hand Holding, First Kiss/Time, Mysticism, Hugging, Touching) – John goes undercover for an investigation as a favour to Lestrade in a village in Suffolk. The events surrounding the case awaken deep-seated fears in Sherlock. While John begins to come to a realisation of what he needs in Lucifer's Gardens, Sherlock tries to find a way to reach John – in more ways than one.
You Might Just as Well Be Blind by ArwaMachine (E, 56,625 w., 12 Ch. || Fake Relationship, For a Case, Bed Sharing, Platonic Cuddling, Jealous Sherlock, Oblivious John, BAMF Hudders, Fluff and Angst, Frottage, Anal Sex, Happy Ending, Case Fic, Flirting, Pining John, POV John, Toplock, Possessive Sherlock, First Kiss/Time, Infidelity) – When a serial killer starts targeting couples, Sherlock and John must do what they have to do in order to get to the bottom of things. Unfortunately, John already has a girlfriend. Surely pretending to be in a relationship with Sherlock won't pose any problems with his relationship, will it?
Bakers with Benefits by Raina_at (E, 88,130 w., 14 Ch. || Great British Bake Off AU || Strangers to Lovers, Switchlock, Friends with Benefits, Mentions of Alcoholism / Past Drug Use, Banter, Flirting, Fluff, Light Angst, Semi-Public Sex, Past Sherlock/Victor, Mutual Pining, POV Sherlock, Obsessive Sherlock, John’s Bum) – Sherlock Holmes has a successful YouTube baking channel, but what he really wants is his own bakery. When an old friend sends him a call for the very first Great British Bake Off, he seizes the opportunity to finally win a sponsor for his bakery. Here's the plan: Win Bake Off, get the bakery, don't fall in love with the handsome Army doctor at the neighbouring station. Easy.
Drawn to Stars by Silvergirl (E, 109,272 w., 60 Ch. || S4 Compliant to TLD / TFP Doesn’t Exist, Sherlock’s Italian Adventure, Sherlock/OC and Johnlock, Jealous John, Mutual Pining, Misunderstandings, First Kiss/Time, Idiots in Love, 3 Part Story, Slow Burn, Inexperienced Sherlock, Bottom Sherlock, Introspection, Alternating First and Third Person POV, Separation and Reconciliation, Emotional Love Making, Love Confessions via Letters, Angst with Happy Ending) – After the Culverton Smith case Sherlock is clean, working, and looking for a romantic partner—since John has told him that’s what he needs. Shame John didn’t mention he was interested in that role himself, before Sherlock went off to Rome with a gorgeous Italian copper to try to fall in love and become a complete human being.  Part 1 of the Drawn to Stars series
The Lost Special: Family Matters (As Do Relationships) by ShirleyCarlton (M, 144,688 w., 40 Ch. || S4 Fix It Fic / Meta Fic, Unreliable Narrator, John’s Mind Bungalow, Friends to Lovers, Happy Ending, Demisexual Sherlock, Holmes Family, John Whump, Gay Mycroft, Misunderstandings, Drug Addiction, Parenting, TFP is a Nightmare, Virgin Sherlock, Slow Burn, Minor Character Death, Switchlock, John’s Past, Sherlock’s Past, Eurus, Love Confessions) –Sherrinford is not really the name of some high security prison. That was just a figment of John’s frantic coma dream. And Eurus is not actually Sherlock’s sister. That’s just something random she said to John before shooting him. Sherlock and John were never actually estranged. That was just their act to cover up what really happened to Mary – or Rosamund Moran, as her real name has turned out to be. Sherlock does have a secret sibling, though, and his name is Sherrinford. After finally eliminating Moran – though in a rather dramatically different way than they had envisioned – and exposing the truth about Eurus, John encourages Sherlock to delve into his past and to find out whether the reasons to keep Sherrinford away from Sherlock were the right ones, and to discover what really happened in 1981. Along the way, Sherlock and John gradually, finally, stop keeping each other at a distance, and eventually become a proper family of their own.

‘The Christmas Caper’ Chapter 3: Take a Chance
Prologue | Ch. 1 | Ch. 2
FFN | Ao3 | Buy Me a Coffee?
.
.
Sherlock stood in the backyard wishing he had a cigarette. This was not the situation he wanted to find himself in the middle of. He was torn between wanting Molly here, to kiss her so soundly it would be hard to breathe, and wishing she wasn’t here at all. And of all people to make sure this happened, why was it his brother? What Eurus put them through changed their perspectives, and Mycroft wasted no time with Anthea who, like Molly, harboured feelings for a Holmes.
The backdoor clicked shut, and Sherlock sighed. “Can’t anyone leave me alone for five minutes?”
“No, Sherlock, we really can’t,” John joked. “I don’t understand what the problem is. For weeks, all you’ve talked about is wishing you could fix things with Molly, whatever that entails. And now, you’re suddenly uninterested in the chance that’s been given to you?”
               “It’s complicated.”
John shook his head. “No, it’s really not. You are the one making things complicated. She loves you, you love her—that isn’t complicated at all.”
“It’s because I love her, I can’t be selfish with her. I’ve always known how I felt about her to some extent. I was going to tell her the day I took her on cases with me,” Sherlock admitted. “I couldn’t though. She was engaged and I felt she deserved a chance at a better life, even if Tom was quite dull in comparison.” He turned to his friend. “She is safer if we’re not together in any capacity. Eurus figured it out when nobody else could—not even Moriarty understood how important she was to me. Molly Hooper deserves better than that.”
John chuckled. “Jesus, Sherlock. Molly knows you better than anyone else—better than your family, even. She knows what she’s signing up for. Everyone in the world is in constant danger, but that doesn’t stop them from living their lives.”
“We aren’t talking about falling down the stairs or getting hit by a car—we’re talking about dangerous, twisted criminals.” Sherlock was fidgeting with his hands. “What I’d do for a cigarette right now.”
“You want a cigarette?” John asked, revealing the box he had hidden from Sherlock. “Talk to Molly. This may be the very last chance you’ll ever have to fix things.” He left the consulting git to his thoughts.
.
.
“Look, Mr. and Mrs. Holmes, I am so appreciative of you wanting me here for Christmas, but I haven’t brought any of my things. I was led to believe it was an emergency,” Molly explained, still in her lab coat.
“I assure you, Doctor Hooper, it was an emergency,” Mycroft cut in. “You and my brother need to patch things up, and since neither of you appear to be willing to make the first move, I intervened.”
“And I actually have a couple of bags packed up with your things in the trunk of the car,” Anthea informed her. “This was all planned out meticulously.”
Molly stared at everyone dumbfounded. “Are all of you in on this?? Greg? Mike?”
Mr. Holmes broke the silence. “Everyone but Miss Rosie. When Mycroft told us of what had happened, we were more than happy to help. We’ve only heard about you through word of mouth, but my Millie always said”—the Holmes parents now spoke in unison—“That Molly, always so good for our Sherlock.”
She opened her mouth to speak and closed it again. “You know, I think I need a drink. I’m too sober for this.” Molly plopped down in the chair Sherlock had vacated.
“Please stay for Christmas, Molly,” Mrs. Holmes begged. “I know it would make Sherlock so happy, and by extension, you.”
The man in question appeared only a minute behind John. His eyes locked onto hers automatically. There always seemed to be this strong magnetic force pushing them together. He looked so sad behind those beautiful eyes. They were a dark shade of blue today, like waves crashing in a storm.
The moment was shattered when Anthea returned with Molly’s bags. “I’ll show you to your room.”
Molly gave Sherlock a small smile as she passed by. She could’ve sworn his eyes lit up for a brief second. The thought filled her with hope. Maybe it wasn’t too late.
.
.
After showering and changing into her black and pink flannel pyjamas, Molly crept downstairs only to find Sherlock in the chair by the fireplace, book in hand. He looked as if he was desperately trying to concentrate on the words. It was almost like he was attempting to escape his racing thoughts. Between the fire and the glow of the fairy lights on the Christmas tree, he almost looked ethereal. She tried to sneak past him as to not disturb his solitude, but he apparently wasn’t having any of it.
“Molly,” he called to her, the baritone of his voice sending a thrill through her.
She turned toward him, unsure of what she should be doing with her hands at this point. It was difficult feeling so exposed the way she was now. There would be no escaping the inevitable conversation she had easily avoided in London. “Yes?”
Sherlock locked his eyes on hers, warm and inviting, but frightened. “I owe you an apology.”
“Oh, don’t worry about it; this was all your brother’s doing. You’ve got nothing to apologise for,” Molly assured him with a wave of her hand.
Her heart felt like it nearly stopped when Sherlock stood from the chair, setting the book aside, and closed the distance between them. “I meant that I wanted to apologise for not going to see you…after, well, you know. I meant to, but it was all too much, and the longer I waited, the harder it was to even pick up the phone.”
She was taken aback. This wasn’t what she had expected at all. “It’s, um, it’s alright, Sherlock. Thank you for your apology.” Apparently, the surprises would never cease, because before she knew it, she was enveloped in his arms. It took her a moment to process, but she returned his hug, arms wrapped tightly around him.
“I missed you,” he spoke softly.
Molly closed her eyes, fighting the tears that threatened to spill over. “I missed you too.”
He didn’t want to let her go—the thought of doing so made his heart ache. The fact she didn’t seem to be in a rush to get away settled his pulse. It told him she wanted to be in his arms as much as he wanted to hold her. Sherlock breathed her in, the scent of spiced honey and wildflowers filling him with warm familiarity. It was like finding a place he belonged—like home.
Pulling away from him, cause this needed to end eventually, Molly felt the loss of him, immediately regretting she had been the first to let go. It felt so much colder now. Sherlock’s face had gone stoic again, and that was what broke her heart the most.
Sherlock cleared his throat. “You should get some sustenance.” He motioned towards the kitchen. “My mother just made shepherd’s pie—it’s her specialty.”
“Aren’t you going to eat?” she asked with concern.
His eyes roamed the room quickly. “Not hungry.”
Molly watched as he headed upstairs, leaving her once more.

Six Sentence Sunday
From a one-shot involving Eurus going out on the piss with her brothers. Idea courtesy of convos with @introspectivenavelgazer .
---
His eyes follow his sister as she climbs off the bed, wandering towards the glass of her cell. “I cannot allow it.”
“You hold that little faith in me? ‘You’re not what I expected. You’re ... nicer.’” Mycroft glances to the camera at her sudden switch in accent, the rounded vowels of the North on her tongue. Eurus gives a sly grin. “I’m more human than you and Sherlock combined.”

A Love Most Improbable Ch 4.
Read it here on Ao3
Molly glanced back at the door to the west wing as she made her way back to her room, trying to wrap her mind around the events of the day.
“How is he?” Mycroft inquired, ceasing in his pacing the hall rug when she came into view.
“He’s likely to have an impressive scar when it’s all said and done, but I expect he will make a full recovery,” Molly replied thoughtfully.
“Good.” He gave her what she imagined would have been a satisfied nod had he been human. “May I escort you back to your room?”
Molly smiled. “You needn’t fear me running away again. I’m here as his physician now, not his prisoner.”
“A preferable arrangement to be sure,” he replied absently. “I just felt it was my duty as a gentleman to offer.”
“That’s very kind of you.” She looked down at the man within the mantle clock at her feet, clasping what passed for his hands behind his back as he glanced back at his brother’s room.
“On second thought,” she reconsidered. “Perhaps I could use some assistance finding my way back to my room.”
“As you wish, Miss Hooper.” His tone was casual, but Molly could tell underneath his cool demeanor, he was relieved for the distraction from his thoughts.
They walked in silence for a while down the hall, rather slowly due to Mycroft’s diminished size, but Molly didn’t mind. It gave her time to collect her own thoughts and admire the castle’s architecture.
“The archways are lovely,” Molly commented admiringly.
Mycroft hummed in half interested agreement. “Early Baroque design. I was ever so grateful that our mother saw sense enough to leave them as they were during her love affair with those garish Rococo interiors. I personally have always found the Baroque style to be far more elegant.”
“Well you know what they say…if it’s not Baroque, don’t fix it,” Molly quipped.
Mycroft looked up at her quizzically, his eyes twinkling with amusement. “What a peculiar adage.”
Molly shrugged lightheartedly.
A hint of a smile began to creak across his face. “I remember staring off at those arches when I was a boy. Helped me to clear my head,” he explained. “We spent many a summer here as children.”
Molly smiled, picturing it. “I can only imagine what the games of hide and seek must have been like.”
Mycroft breathed out a laugh. “Games were never my forte. I’m afraid I was a very serious child.”
“You? No!” Molly laughed in mock surprise.
Mycroft glanced at her, attempting to maintain his serious demeanor, and continued. “As heir apparent to the house of Holmes, I spent nearly every minute dedicated to a regimented schedule. I wanted to learn everything I possibly could make use of. History, economics, language, diplomacy, fencing, even architecture.”
“Your tutors must have adored you,” Molly complimented.
He smiled knowingly. “I’m afraid more often than not they found my enthusiasm for my studies tiring. But I was nothing compared to Sherlock.”
“Oh?” Molly asked, intrigued.
“He was an… energetic child. Unruly, though undeniably bright. And all too aware of his aptitude. He once went through eleven tutors in the span of a month. I believe one left within an hour of their first session.”
Molly laughed despite herself. “I’m surprised that we never noticed any of them making their way through Bakersville. To be honest, I had no idea this place even existed before today.”
His smile fell as his expression grew serious. “No, I suppose you wouldn’t. That was part of her punishment for us,” he replied, ruefully.
“Who?” she asked hesitantly.
“Eurus,” he sighed. “Our sister.”
“Oh…” Molly nodded, processing. “So she’s the one who…the reason why…”
“The reason we are like this?” Mycroft offered. “Yes, I’m afraid so.”
“But…how?” she wondered.
Mycroft cast his eyes towards the arches above them, considering his reply.
“While Sherlock and I were intelligent children, Eurus was an entity unto herself. An absolute genius. I suspect it was due to her unparalleled intellect that it took so long for us to notice her…other gifts.” He sighed thoughtfully. “There were moments I recall now that were indications… I once found her in the library, her arm sliced open. She said she wanted to see what her muscles looked like on the inside. So casual…As if we were discussing the latest crops. No sign of any pain…when I asked her, she didn’t even recognize what the sensation was.”
He let breathed a humorless laugh. “I of course brought this to our parent’s attention immediately, but when they came to her…she had no sign of injury. Not so much as a scratch. I spent days on bedrest, convinced that I had imagined the whole scene. That my mind was overworked. I should have known…”
Molly felt the urge to reach out and gently pat his shoulder, but thought better of it for the sake of his pride.
“As the years went on, the incidents started to become more frequent. They started small. Little, inexplicable oddities. Then there was the fire in the north tower…and then the young Lord Victor Trevor went missing… Madame Trevor was an advisor and dear friend to our parents and as such, her son Victor became Sherlock’s closest boyhood companion. They were playing in the maze in the south courtyard one moment and the next Victor was just…gone. And there was Eurus, smiling to herself in the rose garden, reading contentedly as she sat by the well. She knew. She knew exactly where he was. But for all that we pressed her, she wouldn’t tell us. She just sat there and smiled. She said Sherlock had to figure it out. Like it was some sort of game to her… We searched for days without a trace of the boy. Sherlock was devastated. He couldn’t sleep. He refused to eat. All the while Eurus would not tell us anything.
“Finally, after almost a week of unfruitful searches, little Victor knocked on the door, shivering and soaked to the bone. He claimed ‘he was a well’… His parents, naturally, assumed he meant he was in a well. It only occurred to my parents and to me after the boy had returned that we never had a well in the rose garden…”
Molly gasped quietly as her hand flew to her lips.
“I do not know if it ever occurred to Sherlock. He was so young at the time…we never spoke of it again. The Trevors never returned. And Eurus…unsure of what to make of her talents, our parents entrusted our uncle Rudolph with escorting her to a convent in the mountains. We were assured it was somewhere secluded and that the sisters would be able to…handle her. I never heard any more the subject. She was gone before dawn the following morning. Neither Sherlock nor I said goodbye.”
Regret colored his stoic expression.
“Years went by. We heard nothing. We never spoke of her... When we came of age our parents granted us our own estates; the manor on the coast to me, and this estate to Sherlock. I went once to the convent to visit her. Uncle Rudolph had passed and I thought it best that I take over his role in her care. It was too painful for my parents to handle. However, when I arrived, the Abbess informed me that Eurus had escaped from the abbey years ago and had not been seen nor heard from since. Our parents knew nothing of it. Uncle Rudolph had left no answers. No records. Nothing. I searched for her, but it seemed that she did not wish to be found. I never did tell Sherlock…
“We eventually gave up the search and moved on with life. I spent my days in court, forming diplomatic alliances, tending to the family’s finances, and so forth. I met Anthea during that time…We were planning our wedding when I received news that Sherlock’s experimentations had turned…dangerous. He was always a bit reckless but he’d grown more and more negligent with the poisons he was concocting for himself. John was fearful for Sherlock’s life when he finally wrote to me.
“I came at once to see to the matter, Anthea and Mary accompanying me. I fired the head butler for letting the matter get as far out of hand as it had. Sherlock had saved me the trouble of firing nearly the entirety of the rest of the staff. I took over running the household while I, along with what remained of the staff, attempted to slowly bring him back and the estate back from the brink.
“That night there was a snow storm. Sherlock was in a mood, but we had purged the house of anything too dangerous, so we left him alone, which is what he wanted… She came that night to test us, to test him, once again. He failed. Even when she revealed herself I do not think he recognized her. It was as if he had erased her completely from his memory. And so…we were each handed a curse fitting of our own crimes. Our fates tied to one of her own beloved blooms. A reminder of her… Sherlock may have been the one to turn her away, but we were equally to blame. I am equally to blame…”
“You were young, Mycroft. What else could you have done?” Molly replied, attempting to comfort him.
He looked sorrowfully up at her. “I ask myself that every day, Miss Hooper,” he sighed. He cleared his throat. “It would seem we’ve reached your room. I shall bid you good night. Forgive me if our conversation was unpleasant...I do appreciate your willingness to listen.”
“Of course.” Molly smiled gently. “Um, Mycroft?”
“Yes, Miss Hooper?” he asked, turning back to her.
“Did…did Eurus say if there was a way for the curse to be broken? Surely she must have…” she wrung her hands uneasily.
Mycroft smiled ruefully. “I’m afraid that is for us to worry about, not you, Miss Hooper. You’ve already done us a great kindness in your returning... I shall have Mrs. Hudson attend to your breakfast in the morning. Goodnight, Miss Hooper.”
“Goodnight, Mycroft,” she replied, unsatisfied, but accepting that was all the answer she would receive for now.
With that he tottled off stiffly down the hall, leaving her to enter her room on her own, this time as a guest, not as a prisoner.
Perhaps she was the only one who wasn’t, she thought to herself as she readied for bed.
***** The tavern was bustling with activity as James sat sulking by the fire, sipping his third ale.
“Come on now. Cheer up!” Philip encouraged, sitting down beside him, his own pint in hand. “So Molly turned you down. What’s that saying about fishing? There’s always more where that came from! No that’s not it…”
“I’m not interested in fish,” James grumbled, staring into the fire. “’I can’t marry you. We just want different things out of life.’ What’s that even supposed to mean!?”
He threw his empty glass into the fireplace.
“That you and she want different things…?” Philip replied unconfidently.
“That’s just ridiculous. What could she possibly want out of life that I couldn’t give her?” James scoffed.
“Beats me.” Philip shrugged. “You’re the greatest guy I know. I mean, if I were a young lady, I’d—“
James gave him a wary, questioning look.
Philip cleared his throat. “Never mind. The point is…Miss Hooper’s always had her own ideas for her life. Most of which are just not…normal. If you’re really serious about winning her hand, maybe you should ask her what some of those ideas are…”
James grabbed the pint from Philip’s hand and glowered into it, drinking deeply. “Since when are you such an expert on the fairer sex?”
“Well, I’m not exactly…I just thought…” Philip floundered with his words.
The door to the tavern burst open as Greg stumbled in, disheveled and wild eyed.
“Help! Please! He’s got Molly!” he pleaded frantically.
“Who’s got Molly?” Angelo asked, standing protectively to his full height.
“That beast. Th-that monster! In the castle in the woods. I was there. Please! I need to get her out of there, you’ve got to help me,” Greg begged, frantically gripping the burly baker’s arms.
“Woah, hang on there, Greg. You sound delirious. Are you feeling alright?” Sally asked in concern as she came from behind the bar. “Sit down a moment. Let me fix you a bit of tea.”
“I don’t want tea! There’s no time!” Greg shouted. “There’s no telling what he’s done to her. I need to get her out of there. Now who’s with me!?”
James stood from his chair confidently. “I’ll help you, Gregory.”
He nudged Philip in the shoulder. “Uh, me too!” Philip added.
“And me,” Angelo agreed heartily. “We all are, aren’t we? Gregory has always been an honest man.”
There was a chorus of cheers from the crowd.
“Oh, bless you,” Greg sighed gratefully. “Follow me! There isn’t a moment to lose.”
They set out on foot into the woods, Greg leading the way. The hours ticked past and the night air grew colder. Soon the trees all started to look the same. With every retraced step, every turn down a path only to return to where they had started, every ‘no it’s this one I’m sure!’, their search party numbers dwindled. Many promised to continue the search in the daylight hours, but their words were halfhearted at best. Soon it was down to James and Philip shivering as they followed Greg down the same wooden path for the fourth time.
“It’s late, Greg,” James reasoned through chattering teeth, his ears perked, listening for distant sounds within the woods. “I want to find our dear Molly as much as you, believe me, but I think it is best if we head back to Bakersville for the night. You’re no good to Molly like this.”
“I’m fine,” Greg argued, sniffling. “We aren’t far now. Just beyond this bend.”
“Suit yourself. But I’m not getting eaten by wolves tonight,” James declared, turning to leave.
“Come on, mate,” Philip coaxed gently, wrapping his scarf around Greg’s neck. “Can’t help Molly if you catch your death of cold out here tonight.”
Greg shivered and nodded, allowing his friend to lead him by the shoulder back to the village.
***** “Well? What will it be?” Sherlock asked impatiently.
“I’m thinking!” Molly laughed, walking along beside him down the hall. “You know you have a distinct advantage in this game having known everyone longer.”
“True,” he agreed. “But you have a fresh perspective that I do not.”
Molly smiled and thought a moment longer, drawing out the anticipation for her response.
They’d fallen into an easy companionship, she and Sherlock. What started as a daily walk around the grounds to stretch his muscles and force him to get some much needed fresh air had turned into a pleasant routine for the two of them. Soon, they began seeking each other’s company, discussing matters of science and literature, often debating the topic of the hour over the course of a dinner. Theirs was a peculiar friendship, but a friendship none the less.
“Arsenic,” she replied finally.
“Arsenic,” he repeated thoughtfully, considering the applications.
“In her cosmetics. It was a fairly common ingredient not all that long ago. Queen Elizabeth used it in her foundation. With the right dosage it would be subtle, but quite lethal,” she stated matter of factly.
“My word, Molly, that is devious!” he laughed.
Molly shrugged. “You’re the one who wanted to play ‘Murder’,” she reminded him.
“Yes but I didn’t expect you to win,” he admitted, impressed.
She smiled shyly. “So what was it that you wanted to show me?”
“You’ll see,” he replied coyly.
She eyed him suspiciously but could not help but smile.
Finally, they reached a set of double doors at the end of the hall. He opened them unceremoniously and strode inside, Molly close behind him.
She stopped in her tracks as she looked around at the towering shelves of books around them.
“Are you alright?” he asked, realizing she was no longer following him.
She cradled a large book of anatomy illustrations in her hand delicately. “This is amazing,” she breathed. “I’ve never seen so many books in my entire life. Even St. Bartholomew’s research library didn’t have this many scientific volumes.”
A small, satisfied smile crept across his face. “You’re welcome to as many of them as you like. However, this was not the surprise I had for you.”
“It’s not?” she asked, placing the book back on the shelf lovingly.
“Follow me,” he instructed, nodding his head towards the back of the library.
She followed him curiously until they came to a door at the far end of the library. He opened the door to reveal a narrow set of stairs descending into a separate room.
He went in ahead of her, pausing on the stair. “Watch your step,” he cautioned.
She rested her hand gently on his arm to steady herself as she descended the steps. When she reached the bottom he found his way across the room to remove the cover from the sunroof, letting light stream into the cool, stone room.
Molly gasped in delight as the sun illuminated a fully equipped laboratory.
“It’s beautiful!” she breathed, admiring how the beakers sparkled in the light. “Is that an embalming table?!”
“Um, yes it is,” he replied hesitantly.
“I never did get to perform an autopsy before leaving London,” she sighed, running her hands along the surface reverently. “Thank you for showing me this.”
“So…you like it?” Sherlock asked, hopeful.
“It’s wonderful.” Molly smiled, turning her attention to the jars of specimens on the shelf eagerly.
“Well…then it’s yours,” he announced.
“What?” Molly turned to him, stunned.
“Well, why not?” he reasoned, running a paw along the back of his neck. “I’m in no state to use it, and you’re clearly meant to be a doctor. You should have a space to practice where you can—have I upset you?”
He looked at her worriedly as she sniffled and did her best to blink away the tears that had welled in her eyes.
“You…you really think I could be a doctor?” she asked, a wide smile blooming across her face.
“Of course! You’re already as good as John, and you’ve had half the professional training he’s had. With a little more practice…”
He trailed off as she crossed the room to meet him. She looked up at him, her eyes shining happily, before she suddenly threw her arms around his torso. Unsure what to make of the gesture, he patted her shoulder gently.
“Thank you,” she whispered excitedly, grasping at his forearms as she pulled away all too soon. “Truly, Sherlock, I cannot tell you what this means to me.”
“You’re…you’re welcome,” he replied, finding himself smiling along with her.
She let go of him and twirled around excitedly, looking at the lab. Her lab.
“Oooohh this is so exciting!” she squealed. “I have to tell Mary!”
She laughed giddily as she bounded up the steps, glancing back him for a moment with a look of gratitude before practically running through the library.
He smiled softly back at her as he watched her go, a pleasant warmth building within his chest where she’d pressed her cheek. Yet the space where she’d embraced him also felt suddenly, inexplicably empty.

Emotional Context ch 1
You know that thing I posted about an hour ago? I started writing it (:
What if Eurus installed the cameras back in 2011 after her meeting with Jim? If Jim had mentioned Molly had a soft spot for Sherlock. How much would Eurus had seen leading up to the Sherrinford incident? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Eurus Holmes stared at the screens. A petite woman in a bright jumper was walking around her apartment, oblivious to the several dozen cameras that were now hidden in her flat. In her dealings with Jim, he had mentioned that this particular woman had a soft spot for her brother. Desperate for any link she could find to him without being too obvious, she had these cameras installed a month ago. If she had any doubt about how boring the average person was, this woman was a shining example of average.
It pets its cat again/ talks to cat/is this normal/ will investigate further.
Jim/boring jim/how did he put up with this/curious/ordinary.
So much footage of empty walls/substandard telly
It seems agitated today/sad/it always pretends not to be
Molly Hooper steeled herself. She had just received a code. It was go time. Time for the world to believe Sherlock Holmes was dead.
It cries/it cries a lot/how much is too much
Brother dear/how you’ve grown/our hair is the same
He sleeps in its room/it sleeps on the couch/it looks at him a lot
He’s gone/it cries all the time/it doesn’t go to work

+sherlolly because...what was said
I'm still working through my feelings from TFP and today's focus is that of the aftermath of Molly and Sherlock's phone call. Also, I wanted to play around abit with a line that had troubled me in the episode. I guess I wanted to comfort myself a little haha. If you've come to read it, thank you so much. :) xx
:: CONTAINS SERIES FOUR SPOILERS ::
Words  (also on FF.net)
It had been a week since the phone call. Molly had not been surprised at the silence after what had been an odd game of tug-of-war; a fight to see who could hold on to their veneer of protection just a little bit longer. Sherlock was not one to expose the contents of his heart, whatever those contents were, but neither was Molly. Sometimes, things were much better left unsaid, and Molly was a firm believer of that.
So when her phone buzzed again on her kitchen countertop, Molly peered quizzically at it, wondering why it looked oddly like it was Mycroft calling. No number appeared, save for a mysterious dash. Molly sighed. It definitely was Mycroft. It had been years since she had seen something like that on her phone. Her hands were a little damp, for she had been drying her teacup when the call came. With her driest finger, she carefully tapped on the screen, accepting the call on speaker mode. “Hello? Is this— Molly Hooper?” came a voice Molly did not recognise. Molly paused, caught between ending the call or saying something in response. “My name” This time the caller paused, as though unsure or nervous, even. For some reason, Molly decided that she had better put her teacup down. She had the strange suspicion the call was going to make her drop it. Having been involved in so many of Sherlock’s cases had heightened Molly’s sensitivities when things seemed amiss. Something certainly was amiss right now.   “My name,” the caller continued at last, “is Eurus.” The name did not register, and a small frown etched itself on Molly’s face. She tapped the speaker phone icon off and brought the device to her ears so that she could focus on the oddly soothing voice of this stranger. “This is Molly,” she replied at last. “I don’t know who you are, Eurus.” “It is nice to talk to you at last,” Eurus said, “I have— There are so many things, I have to say to you.” “Could you start by telling me who you are?” asked Molly. “I am someone— who has hurt you, Molly Hooper,” Eurus answered. “I was a little mad and angry at the time, and so I hurt you.” “I don’t know who you are…how could you possibly hurt me?” Molly responded with a puzzled laugh. “To be honest, I am still mad, but I am no longer angry,” Eurus continued, “And I should like to make amends.” Suddenly, the doorbell to Molly’s flat rung, causing the pathologist to quite nearly jump out of her skin. “Ah, I hear it. Amends.” said Eurus. “Is this…some sort of game?” asked Molly as she edged warily to her door. “Oh, no, Molly. Please, do not worry. The games are over. This— is recompense.” The doorbell rang again and this time, Molly heard a voice asking if anybody was home and announcing that he had a delivery. With a sharp inhale, Molly opened the door and saw a uniformed man standing there with a friendly smile on his face and a large envelope in his hands. She signed for it, he tipped his bright orange cap and turned to leave. Molly returned to her sitting room and sat herself on the sofa, studying the thick brown envelope.   “Aren’t you going to open it?” came Eurus' voice, startling Molly. “Is it from you?” asked Molly. “Yes, in a way,” answered Eurus, “I sent it on behalf of someone. Except he doesn’t know it yet.” “Who’s he?” questioned Molly, still keeping a wary eye on the envelope. “My brother,” answered Eurus. There seemed to be a smile embedded in her voice. “Your brother?” “Oh, forgive me,” said Eurus with a soft laugh, “I hadn’t introduced myself properly…” “Frankly, you haven’t at all—” “My name,” Eurus interjected, “is Eurus Holmes.” Holmes. The word echoed in Molly’s mind as she tried to place this third Holmes’ name with that of the only other two Holmes she knew. “I don’t understand,” Molly remarked quietly. “Who I am isn’t important…for the moment,” said Eurus, “But please, for the sake of a specific Holmes whom you do know, do please open the envelope.” Perhaps this was all Mycroft again. Some strange, elaborate scheme that he had concocted for Sherlock into which she had now become thrown. It was frustrating, but given his track record, Molly had always found it easy to trust Mycroft. So with a small leap of faith, she began tearing the envelope open. “Play it, Molly,” said Eurus. Out of the envelope slipped a single slim DVD case with disc inside of it. The disc was plain black and had no label nor anything written on it. “All right,” said Molly, popping the disc into her laptop that was on the coffee table. The moment Molly clicked on that small triangular play icon, the icon that signified the start of whatever contents the DVD contained, what ensued felt like a hurricane had torn through Molly’s ribcage. In the eight minutes and eleven seconds, Molly had heard the same voice of the woman she was currently on the phone with, and had seen everything that had taken place during that one particular phone call from a week before. She saw the stark cold room, no different from a morgue, that contained the three men; she saw the solitary coffin and watched the deductions made about it; and finally, Molly saw herself on a screen in the room that very afternoon she crushed lemon into her tea just moments before having a private truth squeezed out of her. “Who are you?” Molly whispered fiercely, “And why would you do that to Sherlock?” “I told you,” Eurus answered, her voice softening, “I was angry.” “Did Sherlock hurt you?” asked Molly, “That you would do this to him?” Eurus laughed softly in reply, infuriating Molly, but Molly knew to keep her cool. She waited patiently for the voice to explain itself; the voice which taunted the man she loved and in so doing destroyed everything and everyone. “He was right about you,” Eurus began, “When he comes to visit me, and he brings his violin, he plays for me. Then we play together. And then he talks to me. I didn’t talk at all at first, but now I do. And when we do, we often talk about you.” Molly tried to steady her breathing that had accelerated from anger, shutting her eyes as she pinched the bridge of her nose. There were pieces of this story missing and it made it difficult for Molly to follow exactly what Eurus was saying, but she persevered in her silence, waiting for more from Eurus. “He said you never talk about yourself,” continued Eurus, “That you never count yourself as anything. And you've just proven it, Molly. In spite of all that you’d just seen, my little game targetted at my brother that inadvertently targetted you, all you seem angry about is the fact that he was wounded.” Molly reopened her eyes as her mind now struggled to keep up with the deluge of information for which she had no frame of context. “How is this recompense?” whispered Molly, her jaw clenched. “Did you think they were real, Molly?” Eurus whispered back. “What were?” “My brother’s words. To you.” Molly turned her attention to the frozen scene on her laptop from where the video had stopped. Sherlock was collapsed on the ground with his back to the wall surrounded by what was left of the coffin - her coffin. “Does it matter?” asked Molly to Eurus, “It does now,” said Eurus, “It matters to me. I told you, I want to make amends.” “How is this— showing me all of this, making amends?” Molly exclaimed. There was a pause on the other side of the phone. Molly waited but all she could hear was Eurus let out a sigh. “Because I know my brother. And I know he wouldn’t have the slightest as to how to tell you that they were real,” explained Eurus. “So I decided to show it to you myself.” “I told you,” Molly said softly, “It doesn’t matter if—” “And I’m telling you,” interrupted Eurus, “That each of those three words was true. And meant entirely for you.” A silence fell between them as Molly searched herself for a response. “We were never going to say them anyway,” said Molly, at last, “So what does it matter, if they were true?” “Because words are only the beginning, Molly,” answered Eurus, “Once you say them, everything changes. Everything.” Molly kept her gaze on her laptop, focusing on the broken coffin, and then on the broken man sitting amongst its wreckage. “You couldn’t say it because it was true,” Eurus began gently, “But my brother, who would rather break every rule in his own book than see you in a coffin, said it because it was true.”   These words of Eurus needed no frame of context, for Molly had seen it now. “So, Molly, once you’ve calmed down and your thoughts have settled, you’ll need to do something for me. You’re not the only one I owe recompense to.” said Eurus. Again, a smile could be heard through her voice. “And what’s that?” Molly replied, clicking the little ‘x’ atop the video that closed its window. “My brother, Sherlock, would very much like if you’d return his call. Please.” Molly laughed. She had not heard from him since that one call. What was there to return? “What call?” asked Molly, shaking her head incredulously. “Oh, the one he’s making now, and leaving a message to because, as you and I both know, your phone's currently engaged.” Eurus answered casually, “Do get back to him, won’t you?” Before Molly could answer, there was a click and the line went dead. Eurus definitely was a Holmes sibling. She most certainly ended calls like the brothers did. The thought made Molly shake her head in disbelief as she chuckled softly to herself. Do get back to him, won’t you? Her mobile phone was warm in her hands after having been talking to Eurus for such a long time. Molly tossed it lightly from one palm to another, contemplating everything that had just transpired. She found herself automatically dialling to check for voice messages, and Eurus had not lied. The message had come in literally minutes ago. When the message ended, Molly sat very still as she quietly processed what he had said. It took a while but she eventually came to a decision. With her phone now firmly in both hands, Molly began to type. You know where to find me. — MH

Hiiiiiii!!!!!
I hope that you are doing mighty well! 😊
Stopping by to ask for any lonnnnggg.... Slow burns. You know, where it's chapter 10 or 15 and they are barely holding hands or brushing hair outta ones face.
Preferably one where John is the assertive one and Sherlock is the shy one. It would be toast if you have anything where Sherlock tries hard to fit in and to be loved but is so awkward no one likes him. To John though, he is perfect and loveable. So then John tries hard to treat him right and show him what it's like to have someone truly love him. 😊
Thanks a million!!!! You truly are a gem! 🌻 Take care and be well always. 💚
Hi Lovely!!!
AHHHHHHH Let me direct you to my Slow Burn Fics Masterlist, but I've a few new SUPER slow burn fics to make a list for you. Check these out! Feel free to add your own, friends!

For Sherlock, it’s a journey into his past, bringing up memories both happy and sad that he has locked away for almost thirty years. For John, it means coming to terms with the present – and a potential future with Sherlock. Part 1 of the The Summer Boy series
Fallen Series by Belladonna_Q, mamishka (T, 222,094 w. across 3 works || Winglock || Angel!John, Angels & Demons, Faes, Christianity, Changelings) – In a world where myth, mystery, and the supernatural flourish beneath the veneer of modern civilization, Sherlock is a master of magic as well as science and deduction. But there are some things that he cannot see, riddles he cannot unravel, even when they walk right beside him in the form of one John Watson…

John, Case Fic) – Two Canadians, two Brits studying in Canada, and an upkeeper walk into a Mystery Shack…. and live there. Summer holidays are here, and the step-siblings, Irene Adler and Sherlock Holmes, find themselves in a boring town called Reichenbach Falls, Oregon, USA. It isn’t as boring as it seems, however, once Sherlock stumbles upon a mystery journal, and the author is unknown. The journal contains ciphers, a strange colour wheel, and information about magical creatures that are said to be looming in the Northwestern forests. With mysteries to solve in hand, he and Irene set out to get to the roots of the town, and the abrupt disappearance of the author of the journal. But they’re not alone - John Watson, quite the handsome nephew of the Mystery Shack owner Greg Lestrade, is on their side to help out, plus mess with Sherlock’s feelings, in a good way. Shenanigans, romance, fun, danger, and deductions ensue. Oh, and there’s also occasional SuperWhoLock and two dorky Winchester brothers to spark up the action later on. Part 1 of the Reichenbach Falls series

One Good Scare by blueink3 (M, 17,386 w., 1 Ch. || Post S4, Holmes Family, Parentlock, Misunderstandings, Family, Fluff and Angst, Jealousy, Halloween, Happy Ending) – Mummy invites Sherlock, John, and Rosie to the country for her birthday, which just so happens to coincide with the annual Harvest Festival, an event Sherlock loathes. With John seemingly making the wrong move at every turn and with ghosts hiding in each of their closets, what will it take for their (Halloween) masks to finally come off?
the napoleon by darcylindbergh (E, 24,823 w., 4 Ch. || 1980′s AU || Halloween, Action & Romance, Costumes, Costume Parties/Masquerades, Mutual Pining, First Kiss / Time) – Halloween, 1989: John and Sherlock both have big plans for the night, but serial killers have the worst possible timing.

On the advice of his psychiatrist—not that he’s thrilled to be taking the man’s advice, but needs must—he's going to mark the anniversary of Eurus’ torments. That explains why he visits the well. What he finds at the well, though, is entirely unexpected. Meanwhile, John Watson has finally come to terms with something he’s ignored his entire life. He’s ready to share that something with Sherlock, except Sherlock isn’t acting himself. It's not the time for confessions, and John determines he must get to the bottom of his best friend's affliction before he can reveal anything. Part 3 of Vulpes' Halloween Johnlock

The more they discover, the more they find themselves trying to outrun the sinister fate they seem to have inherited. This is, pretty much, a word-for-word retelling of the 2018 Ari Aster film, Hereditary. Part 1 of Sherlock Halloween Stories

Cadet Holmes: A Detective Undercover by Talizora (E, 6,388 w., 1 Ch. || Military Kink, Public Sex, Homophobia, Captain John, Gay Sherlock, PWP, Case Fic) – Sherlock took a deep breath and reached out to lightly brush his fingers across the heavy fabric of the uniform. The shudder that rocked through his whole body was entirely involuntary and hateful. He needed to get over this reaction fast because if he was this affected by an empty uniform on a bed how would he deal with being surrounded by fit men wearing the uniforms while they got hot and sweaty. Part 4 of the My Tumblr Ficlets and Drabbles series

Ridiculous by KateAtTheClose (T, 5,392 w., 1 Ch. || Military AU || BAMF John, Kidnapping) – John is the best retrieval expert the British Army has, and so naturally it's him that's sent in when some man with little sense of self-preservation keeps getting himself taken hostage - again, and again, and again.

Rel., Love Confessions, Hurt / Comfort, First Kiss, Drugged Sherlock) – What began with a drugged and vulnerable Sherlock confessing some things about his sexual history and feelings towards John (after Irene Adler injected him and escaped), becomes a sweet, humorous and awkward journey of Sherlock overcoming his past to flirt with the idea of something more with his companion. Misinterpretations and misunderstandings plague the two, as the good-natured, compassionate and sometimes BAMF ex-army doctor, is seduced by-proxy by the mad-genius detective trying to work through what he wants and if he is capable of providing it.
Genius is a Star Whose Light (is Soon to Sink in Endless Night) by LoloLolly (M, 51,812 w., 11 Ch. || Canon Compliant Through TFP, Aftermath of Serbia, Alternating POV,  Established / New Relationship, Parentlock, Explicit Torture, Mentions of PTSD, Mentions of Human Trafficking, References to Child Abuse, Violence, Kidnapping, Captivity, Angst with Happy Ending, Fluff, Case Fic, BAMF John, Sherlock Whump, Mycroft and John Work Together) – Sherlock had buried the past. Even being in an established relationship his pirate (and Sherlock in general) never lost his rather enticing effect on John. Helping Sherlock transform from brilliant Detective to mesmerizing Miss Pirate leaves John hot and bothered, as does the case and seeing his pirate back on stage. The case doesn't go according to plan as John's presence isn't welcome and Miss Pirate attracts more attention than John is comfortable with. Luckily Captain Watson is always in the wings, ready to save the day and the love of his life. Even though his heroic deed isn't received as well as expected, to both their relief the differences are resolved pretty quickly and quite enthusiastically… Part 2 of the PirateDragQueenVerse series || Part 4 of the Hairy Situations at 221B series

It's Anderson's fault for getting jumped by a suspect hiding at a crime scene, but if that hadn't happened, Sherlock would never have met the Army-trained, dual-black belt holding instructor, John Watson, who seems to be better than a good homicide at calming the noise in Sherlock's head...

Not one to just accept things, he returns to Cornwall to demand an explanation. When he meets the forest king, Sherlock, again, he has to come to terms with not only what’s happened to him but what kind of magical world he’s been thrust into. Plus, there’s the questions of whether he trusts the antlered man and how he'll survive being apparently pregnant. Sherlock isn’t much help. That doesn’t mean he isn’t trying to somehow make John understand his feelings, however, even if he’s greatly hampered by being Sherlock. They slowly move forward but problems beyond their control may arise from an act done with the best of intentions. How will they cope, separately and together?
Scheherezade by sgam76 (G, 197,576 w., 45 Ch. || PODFIC AVAILABLE || Post-TRF/Pre-TSo3, PTSD Sherlock, Implied/Referenced Torture, Hurt/Comfort, Emotional Hurt/Comfort, Angst, Humour, Protective John, Papa Lestrade, Big Brother Mycroft, BAMF John, BAMF Sherlock, Aftermath of Serbia, Past Child Abuse, Childhood Memories, Drunk Sherlock, Canon Compliant, Suicidal Thoughts / Attempt) – Sherlock is home, he and John are returning to cases, and all's right with the world--right? But a series of minor mishaps and injuries makes two things very clear to his friends and family: first, Sherlock's time away wasn't the grand adventure everyone has assumed it was; and second, that time has left Sherlock with a legacy that's bleeding into his life today. Sherlock is Not Okay, and it's not going away. Part 1 of the Scheherezade 'verse series
Forethought and Fire Series by 7PercentSolution &  shelleysprometheus (E, 352,650+ w. across 5 works || Series WiP || MorMor & Johnlock, Gay Sherlock, Bisexual John, Pining,Angst, Established Relationship, Shady Mycroft, Domestic Violence, Grief/Mourning, Cases, BAMF John) – The case, this case. This extraordinary, fascinating, scintillating case. A house. Designed entirely by its eccentric owner, built by no less than five hundred expert tradesmen in the heart of Marrakesh. A house that had, seemingly not only driven its owner out, but also to his quite unpleasant death. And a perfumer, a chemist no less, the very thought of the secrets that house could reveal, would reveal was irresistible. Sherlock had to have this case ... and it seems, he also had to have John!
Reichenbach Falls by VeeTheRee (M, 536,133+ w., 101/303 Ch. || WiP || Gravity Falls /  Multifandom AU || Alternate First Meeting, Gay Sherlock, Mutual Pining, Unilock, Summer Romance/Love, Fluff, Insecure Sherlock, Villain Mary, First Kiss, Slow Burn, Doctor Who, Supernatural, Canadian John, French Canadian Lestrade, Insecure Sherlock, Mystery, Domestic Fluff, Developing Relationship Summer Love, Light Angst, BAMF!

Five Fics Friday: May 5/23
Happy Friday, all! Let’s get a head start on fic-reading this weekend with these fantastic fics added recently to my MFLs! Enjoy!
SIGNAL BOOSTING
Ode To Joy : Sherlock Sonata no. 9 by Joaquinbumblebee24 (T, 4,165+ w., 5/9 Ch. || UAP / Alternate Canon AU || WiP || Brain Injury, Vulnerable Sherlock, Sherlock is Lestrade's Son, Family Feels, Whump, Autistic Sherlock, Established Relationship) – While working a case in Cambridge, Sherlock Holmes got into a car accident that would change he and his family’s life forever.
RECENT MFLs
The Adventure Of The Apocalypse by CopperBeech (T, 12,219 w., 6 Ch. || Good Omens Crossover || Post S4 / No Eurus, Mutual Pining, Getting Together, Case Fic, Armageddon, Love Confessions, Idiots in Love) – John's anger at Sherlock over Mary's death meant a long break in their friendship, and it’s only precariously patched up. But now he's back in the sitting room of Baker Street, listening to a plump little bookseller and his dire-looking companion explain why they need Sherlock to help them find a certain boy before the impending End Of The World. Rains of fish, violin playing, fast driving in a Ford Fiesta, and Sherlock and John working out what they mean to each other in the shadow of Armageddon.
Skeleton Key by BeautifulFiction (E, 36,092 w., 5 Ch. || Case Fic, Tongue Piercing, Oral Sex, UST) – Sherlock Holmes is anything but predictable; a fact that John has grown used to over the year they have known each other. However, nothing could prepare him for his reaction to Sherlock's mysterious decision to pierce his tongue.
Spare Parts by Raina_at (E, 63,497 w., 10 Ch. || 24th Century / Futurism AU || Post TRF, Case Fic, Mutual Pining, Estrangement, Reconciliation, Science Fiction) – Two years ago, Sherlock Holmes jumped off the roof of New London Hospital. Two months ago, he walked into John's clinic as if no time had passed at all. John hasn't seen him since. But then Sherlock knocks on John's door with a case he can't say no to, and while figuring out why the biggest manufacturer or synthetic limbs in the System is going after veterans, they also need to find out whether there's a way to fix what's broken between them. Part 1 of Realigning Gravity
The Traveller by Calais_Reno (M, 103,337 w., 16 Ch. || Time Traveller AU || Diverging Timelines, POV Sherlock and Mycroft Third Person, Temporary Death, Angst with Happy Ending) – The year is 2052. At the request of the Ministry of Time, Sherlock Holmes is travelling back to 2009. His mission: to kill James Moriarty, who is responsible for the disaster that the 21st century will become. Though he doesn’t know it yet, Sherlock won’t be alone. Despite protocols that recommend not becoming involved with ‘time locals,’ the presence of John Watson is more than he can resist. But the essence of time is change, and the future may not be what Sherlock hopes for. A meditation on time, change, and love.

Hi Steph.
Hope this finds you well.
I have a question....again.
Do you know any fanfiction where John's letter to Sherlock in The six Thatchers is a topic?
I would love to read something related to this because I think we can't have enough Headcanon about it:)
I wish you all the very best and sending a special hug.
Sabrina ❤️

Hey Lovely!
AHH thanks for the hugs!! I've actually had similar asks on rotation for a few months now regarding John's note, and the only thing that I see was suggested (and I now remember) is this fic that has the note in it:
-----
Let's see again if we can get some other fics! I too would like to read about it!
Anyone able to offer us some stories??
