"Trying to hide from me?” Theo sits down, pulling Liam’s chair out and gently pulling him back into the seat, noticing that he’s trying to stand up to hold his ground, but Theo prevents him from ignoring him any longer.

His hand moves to Liam’s back, sliding down to the edge of his seat, tactfully holding his hand close to Liam.

“You’re hard to hide from.” He admits, holding his breath, captivated by Theo’s possessive nature.

“You tried hiding earlier but that’s okay. I like finding you. It’s more fun when I catch you.” Theo whispers with a lust-fueled smile, and Liam’s not sure what to say or do, but he’s caught up in the surge of excitement tingling down his spine.

What a year for books! I mean, I surpassed my Goodreads challenge, even though I knew I was being a little stingy, but I also knew life sometimes throws curves at you, so better safe than sorry. Looking back over the list of books I read this year, I realize the year didn’t rush by, it was well paced and gave me great book memories

Speaking of memories, this years’ favourite is exactly that, In Moonlight and Memories trilogy by Julie Ann Walker. This book, divided into three parts, each part focusing on the story from one of the three characters, had it all, and it executed it all perfectly and beautifully. It still grabs me and brings me back to the story at random times, my subconscious won’t let it go, and I’m perfectly okay with that. Not a standard romance, not even a love triangle really, it is a story of three friends who love each other unconditionally. My second favourite book this year is a straight up romance, with single parents, and unbelievable emotion. Down Too Deep by J. Daniels left me with warm fuzzies, and tearful fits, for days after finishing it. Nate is the book boyfriend everybody wants and needs. Jenna is the woman we all cheer for and want to see succeed. It is packed with love, caring, confusion, loss, steaminess, and tear spilling joy and pain. Molly O’Keefe somehow figured out how to make you feel good with a book with death in the title. A Day in the Death of Walter Zawislak isn’t a romance, but is a story of love. Oh, it covers a whole lot of emotions, but this little book, in the end, reminds you of the power of love. So, what else happened in 2019? Candace Blevins ended her Only Human Urban Fantasy series, and yes, we find out what Isaac is, while we see how Kirsten’s world changes. I also caught up on Candace’s RTMC series backlog. More Honey Badger awesomeness from Shelley Laurenston, and a new series under her G.A. Aiken name, The Blacksmith Queen. More bears, polar bears to be exact, from Vivian Arend. I got to meet NJ Walters at Romancing the Capital, and gush about her Drakon’s and Tapestry series’. Speaking of RTC, Eve Langlais had me hooked with her UF series, The Forsaken Chronicles, and her Mecha Origins series, oh and her Chimera series, seriously, this woman can keep you reading for weeks! Annika Martin gave us a cute little quickie with Hot Ghost that was perfect for Hallowe’en. Zoe York gave us a Vikings Need and made my October! She also had an Ainsley Booth release that was deliciously wonderful 😉

I started the year with Lorelei James’ wound tight, and finally dug into her Mastered Series. I was once all caught up on her books, and am almost there again. Michele Zurlo added to and re-released her Letting Go series. Pam Godwin gave us two new installments in her Deliver series. Lexi Blake gave us more Sophie Oak releases in Bliss and Siren series, and the complete Faery story series, as well as some Lost Boys. Cora Reilly was back with force, bringing us more mafia bad boys than we could ever dream of! Roxie Rivera popped up and sprung Kostya on us, making that one of the high points of the year!

Cherise Sinclair started a new series, and still gave us some from our favourite from her. Bianca Sommerland released the long awaited Off Beat, and started her new co-written The Asylum Fight Club series. Carrie Ann Ryan poked at our emotions in her Fracture Connections series, and started a new family branch in her Montgomery Ink world. Melissa Schroeder gave us cupcake making, tattooed, ex-military men

I caught up with Jennifer Ashley’s cowboys, and then binged her MacKenzie’s and McBride’s series I hadn’t yet read on audio. Helena Hunting gave us a Meet Cute to be remembered, and more in the shacking up world, before switching us back to her new hockey series. Elle Kennedy gave us more collegiate hockey, and then her and Sarina Bowen dazzled us with their Top Secret offering. Kitty Thomas released her Persephone in audio, and then took us back to the training house. Sierra Cartwright gave us some alpha-liscious males to swoon over. Skye Warren brushed the taboo in her ever-amazing way.

I tried new authours, and found a few new favourites. I found myself drowning in books to read, and learned to balance new releases and those on my TBR. I embraced and enjoyed reading, not just as an escape, though it is that sometimes, but as my thing I enjoy to do out of all the things I enjoy to do!

20. What feedback makes you the happiest to hear?

detailed feedback, what people liked, what people didn't. their interpretation of the writing. maybe some future predictions. it's always very cool to have people pick up what i'm putting down haha it makes me feel like i am Truly Doing Something. but honestly, all feedback makes me happy!! it's amazing that someone felt Enough about it to put a !!!!! into words, it really makes me smile

28. Is there a part of [Fanfic Name] you’re surprised no one has picked up on yet?

oh, absolutely!! there's one character in college au who-- [gunshot noises]

(jokes aside, yes, absolutely. there's a... particular character in the college au and no one has quite figured their true motive/feelings on things yet. i don't think most people have looked past the surface. which is alright, because i haven't been implying it that heavily, but the hints are there. we'll get there, don't worry. Not Everything Is As It Seems but everything will make sense eventually.)

32. What story do you think showcases your signature style the most?

most people say college au and i think i have to agree. that's the story i've spent the longest amount of time on recently, and it has all the tropes that i tend toward. but really, anything from the last couple months should show my Signature StyleTM because I think it's sort of... distinct?? if only for the run-on sentences and physical affection and use of italics and whatnot. 

33. Have you ever stopped yourself from writing something? Why?

sure! i really hate how theo's trauma and homelessness is sometimes romanticized, and I felt like some of the ideas for projects I had went much closer to that line than I was comfortable with. not toeing it, but, like. one step away from toeing it. idk whenever his homelessness and/or trauma is used as a device to bring him closer to liam, it just evokes this... visceral kind of discomfort in me.

also the tons of story ideas that I have, and then I look at them, and I'm like "yeah... there's no way this is gonna be less than 70k words" so... This list includes, but is not limited to: time loop study theo, regency au thiam which is a childhood friends to enemies to chaperones to reluctant allies to friends to fake husbands to lovers, jock thiayden, ratatouille au thiam with theo as a food critic who is the Toppest Top to ever Top and liam as the eager-to-please young chef, a canon-compliant social media fic based on the idea that the mccall pack are the equivalent of werewolf royalty, a mob au with theo and the chimera pack as helpful community mafia and liam as the only clean detective in a corrupt precinct, an au where the chimera pack stays intact and they all live together and Cause Chaos while theo is a Tired Alpha and liam Hangs around more than he should, etc. all of these are on the backburner. hopefully at one point i'll work up the bandwidth to write them :))

“I read people very well and when they think I have no idea what they’re doing, rest assured that I know exactly what’s going on.” Theo remarks, as he sits back in his chair.

Normal people would take that as a threat, or at the very minimum a warning sign to tread carefully, but this isn’t Scott’s first time dealing with something like this.

“Me too. Thanks for the advice.” Scott smirks back, causal and unbothered by Theo’s word choice.

“Thanks for coming Scott.” Liam mutters, unable to resist the urge to speak and Mason’s startled expression is the only thing keeping Liam together at this point.

This is going a lot differently than what he imagined.

WIP SNIPPET

Look, look. I don’t want to drive your ass around either, but I was told to and I can’t go back early because I might lose my head or my hand.” Josh gasps, and his eyes beg for help from Liam, who’s been waiting and trying to figure out why Josh is upset in the first place.

This is becoming more and more alarming the more Liam hears and knows about Theo, even though he can’t say he’s that surprised. He did watch him easily murder a werewolf last night.

Losing a hand over this seems extremely excessive though.

The more Josh becomes worried and waits for Liam’s response, the more Liam feels guilty at leaving him hanging.

He doesn’t need to have someone drive him three blocks, but Liam doesn’t want to cause any unfortunate hardship to Josh either.

“Okay. Fine. I have legs but if Theo wants to show off then fucken fine.” Liam growls, half ticked off that he has to subject himself to this kind of extravagant arrogance, but Josh smiles and he is relieved by him slowly relaxing.

“Oh trust me, this isn’t Theo showing off. Not even close.” Josh ruefully nods, getting in the car and looking back at Liam in a hopeful manner.

“So, Corey seems nice.” Liam mentions, not realizing he’s said the last part of his thoughts out loud until it’s too late and he has to bite back another remark in hopes to avoid being too open with his own thoughts.

“He is. I can be nice too.” Theo says, his face unreadable and he slowly leans forward, gently adjusting the collar of Liam’s shirt.

“Really?” Liam’s eyes widen slightly at the skeptical tone he uses, now worried that Theo might not be as nice as he’s portraying himself to be.

“Yes.” Theo chuckles, a little more confident than Liam feels right about now.

“I can show you later. How nice I can be.” Theo mentions, with a slow smile forming on his faces

“Um… no. No thanks.” Liam sputters, insanely warm and very caught off guard by the suggestive nature of Theo’s comment.

“Okay. Well, dinner next time.” Theo innocently says, taking another sip of his drink and Liam’s certain that dinner isn’t what Theo had in mind, but he doesn’t want to dwell on it.

The hammer slams on the table, rattling the floor and making the table shake.

Liam’s eyes widen, unable to look away but its the silence that makes him shiver, the chilling sound of bones cracking that keeps him frozen to his seat.

“Theo! Really!” Corey yells, shocked by the chimera’s sudden violent response to Donovan’s poor attitude.

“Sorry, I was trying to keep it cordial.” Theo shrugs, looking at the other man to gauge his mood and if he’s now taking the hint that Theo’s serious.

Liam shouldn’t be mesmerized by Theo’s ability to command attention, but he’s having a hard time not being enthralled by it.
