The Introverts Retreat box came. The book is Afterland by Lauren Beukes. Sounds like another book based on gender. With the last book, the author seemed to really hate men. This does sound better. It’s really thick. It came with a hook bookmark. I’m not used to those. The moon had fallen off in the box. Good thing I figured out how to put it back on. The candle reads love me enough to leave me alone. The scent is Moonlight Path. It’s interesting. Not sure if I like it. The snacks are peanuts and what looks like chocolate turtles. Those are chocolate, caramel, and pecan. The hot chocolate is just a normal flavor this time. I thought it was a bit more interesting when they were doing other flavors. This is nice, too.

The Milk Box (G/T Homelander x Reader)
1270 words. Pure fluff. Homelander is 8 feet tall. Reader is non-descriptive. Established relationship.
You and Homelander share some milk. Inspired by a conversation with @sehtoast, and a suggestion by @slasher-smasher.
Tumblr media
It started out as a joke gift for Homelander, a subscription to 'The Milk Box' where every month he would be shipped a crate of specialty milk. Initially, he took one look at this box and scoffed, rolling his eyes at this silly present you got for him. However, it did not take long for the monthly milk arrival to become an anticipated event.
Today's the day the next shipment is set to be delivered, and Homelander is stressed. The waiting is the hardest part for the man who can have anything at the snap of his fingers, but he displays a high level of restraint from flying to the post office and retrieving the box himself, because he knows how annoyed you'd be with him. Instead, he's pestering Ashley every five minutes for an update on the box's tracking location. Yelling at her to keep him informed every second, while he's pacing back and forth in an attempt to stay grounded.
And then, the moment finally comes. The second the mailman enters Vought Tower with the package, Homelander is rushing to your office, practically bulldozing through your door. It doesn't even matter to him that you are in the middle of a meeting, this is more important.
You barely have time to understand what is happening before you are yanked away from your computer, held close against his chest with one of his immovable hands. He whisks you into the nearest elevator, giving its occupants just enough time to run out, before he hits the button to take you both up to his penthouse. Yet, it can't move fast enough as he bounces in anticipation.
The instant the elevator dings, he moves so fast into the penthouse he practically flies to the dining room, taking his seat while keeping you propped up on his lap. He's left a knife out on the table for you to open the package, as it's become tradition during these unboxing days. With a large hand on your shoulder, he watches intently as you slice along the packing tape. Even though the scent of dairy is overtaking his sense of smell, he suppresses his X-ray vision to not spoil the surprise of this shipment's contents.
Finally, the suspension is relieved as you open the box, unveiling the twelve glass bottles of specialty milk. They are chilled to a perfect temperature thanks to the dry ice packed around each bottle. Homelander is fixated on your hands as you carefully remove each bottle from the box, lining them up in front of the both of you. This month's crate comes from a local farm, featuring 1% milk, 2% milk, whole milk, chocolate milk, and unhomogenized milk.
Grabbing two bottles of the unhomogenized milk, Homelander's favourite, you pass one to him as you both unscrew your lids. He takes the time to deeply inhale through his nose, closing his eyes as the intoxicating dairy scent floods into his lungs.
You both take a sip of the milk, though your reaction is a lot more subdued than Homelander's. What you taste is very similar to the regular milk you drink. For him, it's a feast for his taste buds. The low-fat milk bottom portion dances between textures of smooth, creamy, and silky; the high-fat cream top portion coats his tongue with consistencies of sweet, foamy, and rich. He can perceive the faint tones of grass from the cow's diet, and the freshness of the farmer's harvest.
Regardless, it's not just about the taste of the milk. As a child created in a lab, he never had the opportunity to know his real mother, or be raised by an actual family. He was never able to relate to your childhood memories, having a cold glass of milk every day after school. In a way, drinking milk is the closest thing he has to connect to the childhood he missed out on, and nothing makes it better than being able to share this comforting experience with you, a person who truly cares for him.
"Mmm…" he mumbles, tipping his head back with his eyes still closed. His tense shoulders are now totally slack, letting go of the stress he's been holding onto all day, solely waiting for this moment.
"You like it?" you ask him, stroking his hand that is still on your shoulder.
"Yeah. They got a good batch this time," he remarks, licking his lips before downing the rest of the bottle. It leaves a delectable aftertaste on his tongue.
"What do you mean? Is unhomogenized milk not the same each time?" you ponder. To you, it tastes the same every month.
"Really?" he huffs in disbelief. Homelander takes his hand from your shoulder to start listing off on his fingers. "There's… there's so much that can effect the taste of milk! If there are preservatives or additives, what temperature it's pasteurized at, what the cow is eating… D-do you even know how the differences of the fat content can change the taste?"
You look up at him silently, grinning as he goes off on a tangent about the history of milk pasteurization and homogenization. Your innocent question about one of his passions has very easily gotten him riled up, although it doesn't take much to get him going on topics he loves. He's like a walking encyclopedia, and you cherish seeing him so invested in his hobby of learning new things.
"I love you, you know," you chuckle, leaning your head back onto his pecs. You catch a glimpse of Homelander's brain shutting down from your sudden praise. You took him right out of the middle of a rant, and instantly flustered him with your honest affection.
Putting your bottle down on the table, you turn around and kneel on his thighs so your face is up to his own. You giggle as he tries to angle away from you, hiding that his cheeks have turned red. However, he doesn't fight when you place your hands on his jaw and coax his face back towards you. His eyes are big blue windows into his soul, exposing how easily you overwhelm his emotions with the little ways you love him. But you can just as easily settle him down with those same little ways.
You lean in for a kiss, and bring your hands up to run them through his undercut. Almost immediately, Homelander sighs and closes his eyes, placing his hands on your back so he can sink into you. He purrs from the way your nails scratch his scalp, quickly letting go of that self-consciousness he felt from you bamboozling his train of thought with a simple 'I love you'.
When you break from your kiss, you keep your foreheads pressed together. His eyes open to gaze directly at you, now so serene. It's like you know how to flip the switch in his brain when he needs to calm down.
"You wanna have another bottle of milk? I'd love for you to tell me more about the different kinds," you say softly, caressing his cheek. A sneaky smile slowly spreads across his face.
"I haven't even gotten to modern milk production techniques yet," he chuckles, nuzzling into your nose. You can't help but laugh, but you know he's serious.
And you look forward to it, just to let Homelander have a chance to partake in something he wasn't permitted to enjoy when he was young. Just to allow him to get in touch with his inner child he neglects so heavily. Just to see that childlike innocence buried within himself have a chance to shine.

How much you’d have to pay me to get me to hook-up with SDV Characters✨
Lil bit nsfw but in the throwaway comment way
(BACHELORS)
SHANE: Like a whole pizza. Love him, hate the smell of alcohol 🤷 Maybe some mints as well but like for him not me there’s no way he remembers to brush his teeth often ngl
ELLIOTT: A hair tie and the audiobooks for all his books (hair tie for him) he’d be lovely in bed honestly so I’d be down
HARVEY: A chocolate eclair. He needs some live in his life so I’d do it for free I’m just hungry
ALEX: An Oreo-Nutella cheesecake and £10, he’s fine but like he needs more respect woman juice in his life and also is probably a virgin (I said it)so may not know women also get the pleasure out of sex (if ya know what I mean). If I was a man like £3
SAM: a jam donut (and another one for him). Babyboy
SEBASTIAN: A packet of mints (for him) and some strawberry flavoured chewing gum (for me). I’m sorry but cigarette smell/taste is very strong I refuse to sleep with him without mints
(BACHELORETTES)
MARU: Nothing I’d do it for *free* that’s my WIFE-
EMILY: Like £10 and a steak bake, she’s not my fave and she might try to meditate half way thru or something idk
HALEY: A lollipop and some confidence. She’d insult me and I’d like it tbh
ABIGAIL: The ability to update all my mods on all my games instantly. She’s fine but like I see her as more of a friend then a love interest
PENNY: £30 and some flowers, I’d feel bad she seems like a wait till marriage type
LEAH: The biggest pack of copics and refills for all. I get the hype but also not really-
(OTHERS)
If people aren’t in this list it’s because they’re either a child or you couldn’t get me to do it ever
WIZARD: £500, he’d be weird in bed but like I feel that’s an experience I can’t give up, ya know? I mean it definitely worked for Caroline-
CAROLINE: Soeaking of! Like a Jaffa hot chocolate, I’m down :]
PIERRE: Ew. Like 5 winning lottery tickets and a lifetime supply of double cream Oreos. I’d do it but I wouldn’t be happy. There’s a reason his daughter isn’t his.
ROBIN: £5. She’s hot and is definitely strong 👀
LINUS: A winning lottery ticket and a lifetime supply of cheesecake. He’s lovely, I love him, not in that way
WILLY: £100 and some mints his breath smells like fish.
MARNIE: Some notebooks, she’s lovely. She needs to be shown Lewis is a dick and not in the way she thinks
KENT: £98 and a subscription to an art box. He’s fine? Strong probably? He has issues tho and infidelity does not need to be one of them
JODI: £100, she’d be easy to convince she wants to abandon her family anyway but the boys need their mum so I’d need convincing

From the horny discord chat today, someone posted a picture of Trader Joe's trail mix, branded the "Omega Trek" mix. It snowballed from there.
Scheduled subscription boxes for omegas in heat! All the most cutting edge nutritious and tasty snacks and over the counter remedies to make the process more bearable for unpartnered omegas. But what happens if your heat comes early and your goodies aren't there yet?
So. Dream is a loner alpha who runs a company that makes products for these boxes, and omega Hob has signed up to be one of his product testers, but his heat comes and the shipment has gotten lost (or whatever we like.) Fortunately Hob happens to be in the same city as Dream and he could just drop by with the items he really needs tested! It's just... there's a deadline, right? And he really needs this data. Very important data! He can't wait another 3 months or whatever or take the time to have new volunteers do the legal paperwork needed to be his product testers or he won't make the production deadline.
So he'll just drive the snacks over to this guy himself, no problem! What could possibly go wrong?
Actively yelling over the idea of Startup Company Guy Dream. His siblings laugh at him because what does he do for a living?! Put nuts and seaweed and chocolate into boxes?? Spend hours calculating the vitamins and minerals needed for a healthy heat?? Even his kinder family members think it won't last a month.
But Hob saw the product advertised on tiktok or something and thought it was a great idea!! So he signs up to test it about 6 months before the product is launched, and agrees to fill out a bunch of questionnaires and do an interview.
...and the data really IS important, which is how Dream ends up standing on Hob’s porch, waiting for him to answer the door. He should probably just drop the box there and leave but... it seems polite to at least check in with this guy who has agreed to help him out!
Unfortunately when Hob cracks open the door, he gets a whiff of yummy snacks AND yummy alpha. His mouth starts watering, and he accidentally swings the door wide open. It all goes a bit downhill from there.
Well, not downhill. But Hob’s experience of taste testing the snacks mostly involves him sitting on Dream’s knot and being lovingly fed in the brief periods when they're not fucking hard. So Hob probably can't give an entirely objective review of Dream’s project, but he can say with absolute certainty that everything Dream has given him tastes absolutely divine. Not just the snacks 😉
The snacks give Dream and Hob a great opportunity to stay in touch, because Hob does genuinely want to help because the product was yummy and left him feeling much better than usual after his heat. Every time they meet up to discuss the product though, it inevitably turns into another excuse to fall into bed together!
When the snacks finally launch to be sold on the open market, they're obviously a total success! At the launch party Hob finally, timidly suggests that maybe he and Dream should start seeing each other like... normal people? Not just under the guise of business stuff?
And Dream shyly hands him a personally curated box of snacks with all his favourites, and asks if Hob would consider sharing his next heat with Dream? As boyfriends this time?
And then they fuck in the bathroom, and Dream is late to give his speech, but it's totally worth it <3

Broadway Divas Tournament: Round 3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The original Elphaba to those who know, Stephanie J. Block (1972) won her Tony for The Cher Show (2018) where she was, of course, Cher. No stranger to playing icons of the highest order, she made her Broadway debut in 2003, originating the role of Liza Minnelli in The Boy from Oz. In addition to eight Broadway credits, she has an extensive resume of regional, touring, and concert performances across the country, and will make her West End debut in Kiss Me, Kate this summer. She starred in the 2022 Into the Woods revival opposite her real-life husband, Sebastian Arcelus. They met starring in Wicked together on tour.
Brenda Braxton (1956) is a Tony-nominated actress for Smokey Joe's Cafe (1995)with eleven Broadway shows to her name, and she, like many Chicago stars, has been in and out of that show many, many, many times. My Candy Club subscription box came in the mail today! And this month, it looks like there’s a spring theme. 🐰
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chocolate covered pretzels are always delicious. 4/5. 🥨
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nuts with a tangy orange creamsicle-like coating. I’ve never seen these before, but they’re delicious. I had to stop myself from eating the whole jar lol. 🍊5/5.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My favorite animal! I had high hopes, but the flavor is just mid. 🦄 2/5.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These smell really nice and they’re so colorful. 🦕 3/5.

These are…strange. The brown ones have a chocolate flavor, which feels out of place in a gummy candy. 🍩 1/5.

The Introverts Retreats box came. This time the book’s Shutter by Melissa Larsen. It sounds different, and possibly better, compared to the last couple of books. The bookmark reads: The earth laughs in flowers. The candle reads: A good book and a cozy cabin. The scent is frazier fir. It smells a bit piney. The snacks this time are Rice Krispy Treats and red velvet biscotti. No special flavor of hot chocolate this time. It looks like a lot, though.

The adage that ‘there is no ethical consumption under capitalism’ never bites with more obvious frequency than with podcasts. You love your favourite podcasters: you want them to make content and be successful at it and earn a living, but short of having the sort of fanbase who can really pump-up a Patreon—and I mean really pump-up a Patreon because there’s no pension in podcasting—you’re going to end-up turning to advertising. And the companies who have monopolized podcast advertising, at least in the genres that people here on tumblr are likely to listen to, are really, really scummy. They know their audience. They know the level of tech-saviness and geekery and the general level of disposable income, which means data-miner Honey can try and prey on your desire for deals to try and suck you dry of information they sell at huge profits to retailers. ‘Leftover Warehouse Garbage’ monthly loot boxes can prey on your sense of exclusivity and penchant for nerdy knickknacks. Chronic employee abuser and environmental disaster Blue Apron can prey on your insecurity about having the energy and skill to cook decent meals. Overpriced and under-contented subscription service Squarespace is there to gouge you for services other companies provide for far more affordable cost—and so on. Right now I am listening to a podcast where the poor host, so as to make a living as a creator, has to do a song-and-dance for AirBnB, that thing that’s made life harder for every person in the Western world struggling with the housing crisis. It’s horrific. It’s horrific to be advertised-to by these disgusting companies—I could be here forever just talking about the app-based ones alone and how they sell you a ‘product’ to cover-up the fact that the product they actually sell is you and your personal information. (Or I could do a side-bar to Youtubers and the surely-some-kind-of-money-laundering-operation-because-no-one-alive-actually-plays-it Raid Shadow Legends).
‘There’s no ethical consumption under capitalism’ doesn’t just mean physical, material products, how you can’t buy a chocolate bar without touching exploitative food production practices, or how the light-up eyes in your Pokemon keychain are LEDs from one of four massive factories in China that chew their workers up and spit them them out to die. It also means understanding that art itself comes pre-compromised if the artists wishes to live in anything other than ‘principled’ ascetic poverty. It means that plenty of progressive podcast collectives with progressive podcasts can’t really do the level of ‘due diligence’ we’d hope for on their sponsors because then they would have no sponsors. There’s no way to win, and every proposition is a losing one.  Commercia delenda est.
