As announced earlier today, “After Midnight” will launch in early 2024 in the slot previously held by “The Late Late Show with James Corden.” It’s based on “@midnight,” which followed “The Daily Show” and “The Colbert Report” from October 2013 to August 2017, was a panel series with mostly guest comedians, who would interact with host Chris Hardwick.

Will I return to the format?
Will After Midnight even have contestants, let alone three of them?
Stephen Colbert has COVID-19; Talking Heads’ “Late Show” Appearance Postponed
“The Late Show” is taking the rest of the week off so host Stephen Colbert can recover from COVID-19.
Among the casualties: the Talking Heads’ slated appearance on the Oct. 18 broadcast.
“Sorry to say, per doctor’s orders, I’m going to be out for the rest of the week,” Colbert said. “Resting up so that I can deliver the hand-crafted, artisanal talk show that we so enjoy serving you. In the meantime, a heady blend of Paxlovid and onions in my socks (thank you, [Jimmy] Fallon) will be rebuilding my immune system.”
The Talking Heads, who last performed in 2002, haven’t commented. They previously appeared on “CBS Sunday Morning” to promote the re-release of “Stop Making Sense.”
