Okay so I don't know where I heard it or where it came from (it might be canon for all I know idk Homestuck was long as shit I don't remember) but supposedly Knights lack whatever their aspect is within their session. For example, Dave's session, as the Knight of Time, was only about a day long and then Karkat, as the Knight of Blood... well, I don't really know but I assume it's because he hid his blood colour? I'm not really sure... Anyway, I think this is interesting for two reasons.
First of all--and this one holds no bearing on the narrative or anything, I just thought it was interesting--Time is associated with music, and while the beta kids' session is supposed to lack Time, each kid knows an instrument (or is otherwise musically inclined cuz idk if turntables are considered an instrument exactly lmao). John plays piano, Rose plays violin, Jade plays guitar, and Dave plays(?) turntables. I mean, I guess they already lack Time in the most literal sense of the aspect, so I guess if the theory is true it might stick to something more literal rather than encompassing the whole of the aspect or something like that idk. And actually, come to think of it, Time being associated with music may just be fanon as well that I've taken to be true solely because it's been hanging around in my head for so long.
But I digress. Long story short there is their session is apparently supposed to lack Time, Time is associated with music, each kid knows how to play an instrument, and therefore they don't lack that aspect of the aspect (lmao). Which doesn't mean anything, it's just interesting.
Anyway, second of all. And still operating under the assumption that Knights lack their aspect in their session here btw. I think it's probably more like they lack their aspect until they don't. Because for Dave their initial session is only about a day long until he, Rose, and the (remaining) trolls have to hang around in the Veil(?) for 3 years waiting for John and Jade and stuff. I.e., they're lacking Time until they got a whole hell of a lot of it. Similar goes for Karkat, I think, with the whole bloodbath Gamzee situation. I.e., they're lacking Blood until there's a whole hell of a lot of it.
Though I guess maybe that bloodloss is supposed to be the lack in the first place? Whatever man. That's just what I've been thinking lately k thx bye xoxo

I was making a Touhoustuck Youmu write-up but i hit a snag where I’m not feeling confident in my understanding of Heirs after so long.
It’s mostly that i wasnt sure how much John was influencial due to his aspect or class, as we can easily see him rubbing off in very minor ways on his friends in pre-game logs, especially when you look to things like Dave’s change in shades. It becomes more pronounced later with things like sharing Nick Cage with Vriska or being someone who had the right sort of impact to allow future Terezi to fuck with her past self with all the retcons.
Like... it feels the further you get into Homestuck, the less John is subtly influencing people as much as being given the power and freedom to be effective when placed in situations like the Retcon stuff. He’s really only inflencial because Terezi directs him to punch Vriska out, diffusing the tension of the situation and allowing the two to just stop trying to kill each other on the meteor. In a sense, the messing around of past Terezi is most likely to keep her from trying to kill Vriska after John leaves too, especially since she’s a lot more confused and willing to think things over in the Retcon timeline by the end of murderstuck.
So its very much that John can influence in smaller ways, but can only really be at his most effective when being directed by another’s influence. It’s how he so effectively kills himself via Terezi’s direction once given the jetpack, and then needed both Dave and Davesprite to push him not to just go to the final boss on a lark. Vriska pushes him to do a huge windy thing to blow out the green flames covering his land, and later to go to his quest bed to get killed and subsequently God Tier. He can channel his aspect and become it, but when he inherits it from others it becomes way more potent.
Equius is also tricky as an heir, because Void is an aspect that can literally be like “You inherit emptiness and darkness and obfuscation” in one sense, but also regularly means “You inherit nothing, don’t even inherit anything”. It’s why for a stealing class like Roxy’s, she doesn’t steal anything because most likely what she would steal is the scant few things the other players have, or potentially alcohol in some sense if she were to try and go back to that empty vice. She also is tasked with trying to steal the void away from her void session as well, alongside the void surrounding her life with the blackouts and all that, but it all goes hand in hand.
Equius inherits the void, but he shouldn’t inherit anything. He has way too much strength, way too much pride on his blood and its ‘inherent superiority’, too much centaur porn adorning his life. These are the Void of his life, and they are things he should not inherit. Instead, he should go out into an empty land, a quiet land, to reflect and learn to control himself. He starts to get there, as we see on the meteor, but his upbringing still had too much of a hold on him  when Gamzee finally tries to subjugate him. If he did, he most likely would’ve been a perfect check to Vriska’s relevancy as she gathered all of that Light, just in the same way he unintentionally was being her neighbor pre-entry.
Mituna is hard to parse, mostly because all we know is that at one point he does a heroic act that fries his brain and Kurloz was around to see it. We don’t even know if it was before or during the game, so we have no indication if the way Aranea describes him before that event was relevant to his character arc given by SGRUB, or was just necessary setup for who he needed to be in the game, similar to how the FLARP stuff set up how all 4 of those Alternians needed to be prior to entry. There’s more confusion to be had as to whether having a mental disability is considered having Doom or lacking it, which goes alongside the ability to have prophetic visions being a sign of or of not having any Doom. These could also be just Goldblood/Captor traits, but both fit will with the ideas of Doom not to discount, it’s just with their classes and the dynamics therein, its unclear what counts as an abundance or lack of the Aspect.

One who destroys (aspect), or destroys through (aspect), for themselves.
Princes destroy things on their own accord. They break the things that hold them back from their goals so that they can progress further
Themes: 
Princes typically hate the destructive aspect of themselves and push it away for as long as possible. They don’t want to hurt those they care about. Bottling up their abilities and emotions often leads to it bubbling out in explosive ways. They inevitably lose control of themselves and embrace this part of themselves. Though they are hesitant to do so, it is part of their journey as an individual and it will happen eventually.
Princes take the role of the villain in many cases, even if they are heroes in the beginning. At the end of their path, princes have always found themselves to be villains deep down. 
All destructive classes mimic their opposing aspect. Most of their themes depend on what their opposing aspect is.
Personality:
A prince is someone who takes what is expected of them, internalizes it, and bases their whole life on this thing that is expected of them. Whether it be from the people they care about or from society, a prince will make it their sole duty to live up to this expectation. They often place themselves on a pedestal, and falling from this pedestal would detrimentally harm the prince internally. Their success is what drives them to keep going, and failure is not an option for them. 
They struggle with pushing themselves and others to their breaking point, often unintentionally. The prince doesn’t want to actually harm anyone. They just want to make sure everyone, and themselves, are performing at 110% of their ability. Their “best” is never enough for the prince, and the prince often believes that everything has room for improvement. This mindset can be extremely useful, and princes can make for excellent leaders, but it can also lead to their own downfall. Overexerting themselves and others is a huge risk when the prince is in charge.
Princes often struggle with their ego and keeping it in check. They perceive themselves to be the most capable person in their group, and they make that very clear in their actions and in the way they speak. They might not want to say they think they are better than others directly, but they certainly think so in their own minds. 
Their god complex can be their biggest flaw, and they tend to not listen to others very well. If someone has a differing opinion or way of doing something from the prince, the prince will decide that they must be wrong and that their own way is the only correct way. For this reason, it is hard to convince a prince when they might be wrong. In the prince's mind, only they know how things need to function properly, and nobody else understands. 
The prince is excellent in debates and getting their thoughts out. They make their thoughts known clearly, and often make sure that those around them are aware of them. They are blunt, and this can come across as rude in many cases. They don’t often mean to be rude, and they have a hard time understanding what they say is wrong when it is taken in this fashion. 
Princes can be manipulative in nature, and this is often due to how they want to be the ones running the show. They want things done the right way and will make sure they can get others to do what they need them to do, even if that means manipulating them into doing so. 
Perfection is everything to the prince, and they are organized with everything they do. They are neat freaks in many aspects. They are clean, speak fluently, and will keep mental lists of everything that must be done. They thrive off of this sense of order, and any sort of chaos will lead them to stress out about a situation. A stressed prince often acts out and unintentionally hurts others. When they are stressed, they tend to put their priorities above those of others in order to bring themselves a sense of control. Control is important for a prince, and they feel useless when they don’t have a hand in controlling the outcome of a situation.
The mind of the prince is constantly in motion, calculating and thinking about what they should do next. The prince’s mind can become a battlefield of their own making, causing turmoil and restlessness. Their thoughts can drive them into insanity, as they overthink everything. Their logical minds are what allows them to be so organized in the first place, and it's where they do most of their planning. Their intelligence in this aspect is one of their strong suits. 
Princes are dramatic in many ways.  They don’t mean to intentionally cause a scene, they often truly do feel that their problems are to the extremes they depict them as. They can be perceived as needy and overbearing to be around. They have things that bother them and tend to vent about them to others, even if that person doesn’t want to listen. Princes are sensitive beings. When their emotions get out of hand, princes are no stranger to letting others know exactly how they are feeling.
Princes have a hard time managing their own emotions, as seen by their dramatic demeanor. They often feel their negative emotions to extreme levels. When a prince is upset about something, they show it and make it obvious to those around them. Again, they don’t mean to be dramatic, and they truly just cannot get control of their emotions. This lack of control in one’s self often leads the prince to become more distressed. 
The prince is a pessimistic individual, always seeing the negatives of a situation. It is why they try so hard to improve things in their lives. They see all these flaws and only think about how they could make them better. When they can’t do anything to change a situation, they are often left distraught and desperate.

Raiden Shogun/Ei is a Prince of Mind
A Prince of Mind is someone who actively destroys action, choice, and balance, through impartial judgement.
Raiden Shogun exists because Ei wished to destroy any future choices she, or anyone else could make. She feared the erosion of her self and used her power to eliminate that pathway. Retreating to the Plane of Euthymia, Ei set the Raiden Shogun up to maintain eternity: to prevent any change in Inazuma.
The vision hunt decree was initiated by the Fatui, but agreed to by the Shogun as a method of striking down the ambition of the allogenes, this decreasing the chance of unpredictable threats to eternity in the form of individual's choices. This was surely a destruction of Heart as well, since the balanced pathways of Mind were torn down.
She was comfortable in her actions as the kagemusha to her twin, the original electro archon. She was the logic to her sister's emotion, maintaining balance by cutting down those who needed it. Her judgement is swift and thorough once she has decided on her course of action..
Per the traveller's influence, Ei realized had to dismantle her previous logic and end the actions she had taken. Thus it loops back around to self-destruction, and hopefully takes a better turn for the future of Inazuma.

Touhoustuck Player Aspects
Reimu: Probably Breath. Fits her powerset and personality very well. Blood can also work well in that inversion way, but she genuinely feels more Breath-y.
Marisa: She’s always bouncing between Light and Heart for me. Usually depends on the specifics of the Class. Also maybe Life, but the other two are stronger contenders.
Sakuya: Time. Fits way too well. Ive flipped to maybe Blood before because of Youmu, but in all honestly if she’s not Time its hard to think of an aspect quite as good. Maybe Life?
Youmu: Time or Space are the dead ringers. Tends to be Space just because of Sakuya, though. Doom is also up there for the bifurcated nature of things but that’s very tenuous and is more of a Captor thing over a Doom thing.
Reisen: Mind is a very obvious choice, but i could see Rage or even Void in some ways. depends what you wanna emphasize about her.
Sanae: The biggest issue with Sanae is that she’s very clearly a Witch, but you can easily see it being a Witch of Breath. Because of Reimu, i do tend to Make her a Hope player instead, which works very well too, but the wind imagery is so there and she could also be a Space player given how grounded she is and with a Mt. Youkai Forge to enter with.

Mythological Role:  
One who destroys (aspect), or destroys through (aspect), for others.
Bards are the ones who destroy the barriers that keep their teammates from succeeding. Destruction is their more powerful tool, and they are willing to help out where they can.
Themes:
Like princes, bards intentionally push away the destructive aspects of themselves so that they do not hurt others around them.
Bards will mimic traits of their opposing aspect. 
In canon, all we see is hope and rage aspect bards, which are opposing aspects. For this reason, they have been seen to have many of the same traits, and separating the hope/rage duality from the bard class can be difficult. One can see the traits of a hope and rage player in all bards in canon because both bards are hope/rage based. Bards do not have many of the traits that can be separated into the class because of this. 
Bards tend to mess things up for other people. They ruin things, whether it be intentionally or accidentally. 
Bards don’t use their powers as often as they should and wait until the last minute to step in. 
Personality:
They are natural servants of those above them. They seek to fulfill what is needed of them so that the people they deem as “in charge” can reap the benefits. They do not do this in order to gain anything in return, they simply thrive off of the joy of making others happy. They don’t want the people they see as authorities to be upset with them. When a bard no longer holds this person with such high regard, due to a number of reasons, they will come to resent this individual greatly. 
Like the prince, they tend to think they are always right. They do not have the same ego that the prince does, so their superiority often stems from their pride in who they see as their leader. They do things for their leader and take great pride in what they do. If their leader has an opinion on something, then they must think the same thing they do.
Bards tend to blindly follow the people they hold in high regard. They don’t question the actions and opinions of their leaders often and they tend to hold many of the same values that their leaders do as well. They have their own thoughts and feelings, but because they see themselves as representatives of their leaders, they often have a hard time speaking their own truths. What's truth for them can easily become whatever their leader believes in if they are left unchecked.
Bards have a hard time being productive. They get distracted by other things most of the time and put their priorities in the wrong places. They do what they deem to be important before they do what others want them to do. In other terms, they do what is needed and not what is wanted. Only things that are necessary are worth the bard's time. 
They can appear lazy, and they certainly can be in many cases. Bards simply have their focus elsewhere. If a bard doesn’t see the point in doing something, they simply will not do it. They have a sort of “executive dysfunction”, and their work ethic appears to be minimal. They have a difficult time doing certain tasks because of this “executive dysfunction”.
Bards leave things up to other people in most cases. They seemingly can't be bothered to do a task because they have the innate understanding that some people are better suited for certain tasks than they are. They don’t typically see themselves as useful, and this is often due to their own outlook on themselves. They tend to not think they are good at doing much. This is far from the truth, as bards can prove to be a factor that can turn the tables in favor of their teammates at the flip of a switch. That is if the bard actually decides it's time to step into the situation
If something doesn’t prove to be worth their time, the bard will not do that thing. Unless a bard sees a direct need for them to do something, they will not step in. It doesn’t help when a bard also has a difficult time understanding when something is looking grim. They are optimistic and find the good in situations, even when they are at their worst. Because the bard cannot gauge the severity of a situation, they often have trouble seeing when something is worth their time. They believe that the circumstances can change at the flip of a switch, even if they don’t get involved with something. Why would they need to do anything if others could fix the situation on their own?
They care deeply about the people they love and most of their lives revolve around making sure they don’t accidentally hurt them. They are selfless in this aspect, as they know that if they don’t keep their destructive nature in check, all hell could break loose. As they grow into their role, they can become abusive to others if they do not watch themselves. They will give in to their destructive role at some point, but many bards tend to lose themselves in their power. 
Bards have a hard time thinking about their actions before they do them. They are bad at planning in the moment, but this sporadic nature can prove to be an advantage in some circumstances. It throws off an individual when a bard takes action, making an adversary (and an ally) both surprised and confused by the sudden change. 
The bard is a friendly individual, and they are quite a talkative person as well. They might not talk about anything other people would care about, but the stuff they talk about is important to them and that’s what matters most to a bard. When someone shows a bard interest in the topics they love talking about, it can be hard to get them to talk about anything else. 
Bards like to watch how things play out, it's fun for them. They can be called “people watchers” in a sense. They like to see people as individuals with their own stories to tell. Because of this, they are sensitive to how others are feeling. They can often be found trying to lighten up the mood with positivity. 
A bard is not taken seriously most of the time, and they are seen as the comic relief amongst their group. They are living jokes, and most of their lives reflect that. It's not until they grow into their role that they become the most feared member of their team.
