Chayanne: And all the eggs got the books and threats and we all decided to leave and suddenly it is: Well Chayanne said we would leave so we followed him. So it is me, huh? And then Tallulah doesn’t want to stay with us. So she is mad at me because I couldn’t keep the promise. And I can’t fix it. And now Tio Forever is going insane. You know I asked Tallulah what to say to you.. and she said, “We say nothing.” So I had her back and said nothing. And she turns around and told you anyway. And suddenly it is Chayanne told all his siblings to keep quiet.

Phil: Wait who was saying that? I didn’t say that.

Chayanne: I’m really tired of it.

Phil: I’m sorry Chayanne. I’m sorry you have to go through this shit.

Chayanne: And now she is god knows where and I am worried. Now what?

Phil: We go find her. We go find her Chayanne, alright? It’s what family does, we stick by each other.

Chayanne: I don’t want to go anywhere. I want to go to the nest. I don’t care. I reclaim it. If workers attack me so be it. I want to build and farm and just don’t have to think about it.

FTL: Why apologise for someone else's actions? Truth be told, it wasn't all that bothersome, mostly just... I suppose confusing would be the right word. Not for the contents of the message but rather for the question of 'why even send something like this?'. Speculations and rumours such as that have absolutely no point to them, and are made at the expense of anyone involved. Perhaps that's the whole point.

This only works in a triad, and one has to be a human since humans can impregnate/get pregnant at random unlike monsters who need a degree of intent to have a child

So basically, if the human gets pregnant with one monster, or gets that monster pregnant, they still have the opportunity to try for a child with their other partner since their soul recovers much much faster than a monsters does

Monster souls need a really long cooldown after conceiving a child. That’s why siblings a year apart are practically unheard of. The only exceptions are twins or triplets. The minimum cool down is about three years, by that time the current baby is weaned off their parents magic too. But only very healthy and strong monsters can handle a child every three years. The majority wait ages before trying again, hence why decade long age gaps between monsters are pretty common.

There’s also the matter of trying for a child. It’s best done when the soul has more magic than it needs. The majority of monsters would have a lot of difficulty having kids outside of that heat period when the soul produces extra magic to attract a mate. So another reason monsters don’t just drop kids whenever. When you only have a maybe 2-4 week window a year to successfully try for a kid, it makes having one harder. Accidents happen sure, but they’re a lot rarer than what y’all see in the rps

What made you ship it?

Around the time the first Avengers movie came out, I was just dipping my toe into Tumblr and Twitter fandom. I found and started following a ton of RP accounts on Twitter. And since RDJr is my favorite ever since Weird Science, there was a lot of Iron Man fanart on both of my dashboards. Shippy fanart started to slip in -- and while Stony was very prominent, so was FrostIron. My love for Loki had already started to bloom (plus, I was fascinated that IRL British Ginger Dork could, with a little hair dye, become My New Favorite Villain), and seeing him constantly paired with My Favorite New Hero -- and there was A LOT of very cool art --made me go Ooh. Plus, I befriended this awesome Tony RP writer who had an awesome RP thread with a Loki, and that, plus all the fics I started to read, just plunged me, heart eyes first, into SHIPPING IT HARD. I watched the movie 10x in the theatre, started watching all the interviews with RDJr and Hiddles, and eventually, I read a college au (that I loved) and decided I could totally write them even tho I hadn't written anything in a couple years. Thus, Dark Side.

What are your favorite things about the ship?

Besides the whole enemies-to-lovers thing? And besides the fact the ship was comprised of two of my favorite actors (at the time)? I mean, their whole dynamic is not so secretly my ideal relationship. The sarcastic barbs lobbied back and forth that rests comfortably atop the sexual tension the ability to keep up with each other is flamed on by. The intelligence that kind of quipping and humor requires -- and let's face it: someone is always hotter when they can stimulate your mind and your body. Add in the bonding that can happen over the shared Terrible Paternal Relationship and The Trauma That Makes Our Humor So Great and how they can heal each other, the debate between science vs. magic, and how they're much more alike than one would think. The fics that explore how discovering how much they have in common and how they learn to see each other in a different light (whether superhero and supervillain or not) are some of my faves and an element I often insert in my own fics. IDK, I just love them.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

Not really? Any gripes I have are more with authors' characterizations of them. I don't go telling anybody they can't write them the way they choose, tho. I just nope out of fics that have anything I don't want to read. And then I write my own. :D

What made you ship it?

Similar to FrostIron, I discovered WinterFrost through mostly RP. But probably what made me fall head over heels for this pair was dipping my toe into RP myself. The friend whose Tony Stark I loved mentioned in convos that they wanted to start RPing a Bucky but wanted him paired with a Loki. They asked me if I wanted to try my hand at RP, so I did. This was about 6-7 months before CA:TWS was released, so there wasn't much if any, WinterFrost content yet -- and it was actually still called Lucky at the time. Anyway, Bucky was post-CATFA, and my Loki was post-Avengers (we mutually decided to start there instead of post-The Dark World). They randomly met and organically began to fall in love. The truth is, this ship is special to me bc, as we wrote Bucky and Loki falling in love, we were falling in love. So, it's all kind of woven together with my own love story. Kind of bittersweet now.

What are your favorite things about the ship?

There is a bit of a dark element to WinterFrost that I'm kind of drawn to. The RP was the only place I ever really explored that (kind of) -- although I did have an idea to turn my PWP WinterFrost into a serial killer AU. I eventually abandoned that idea. For a lot of reasons. By dark element, I mean the darkness in both characters potentially being compatible and flourishing. Bucky as the Winter Soldier was almost devoid of emotion (except when he saw Steve, in the movie at least); Loki, in contrast, was highly motivated by his emotions but kind of let himself get battered and embittered by them. At least the way I wrote my Loki. Beyond that, there is a great capability for them to bond over their trauma (again, similar to FrostIron). There is no bigger troll than Bucky (c'mon, he grew up with Steve Rogers, ffs), and Loki would relish in the chaos Bucky would cause with his commentary. I feel like there's a mutual mending they can do for each other. Loki can help Bucky battle his demons -- as a demon slayer himself -- and Bucky can show Loki a love like he's never known.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

Nah. Similar to FrostIron, it's down to characterizations. I'll literally read anything about these two.

What made you ship it?

I was already into FrostIron and WinterFrost -- and RPing both. So it was kind of like, "I ship Tony and Loki and Bucky and Loki, why not Tony and Bucky?" I RPd that for a bit, too. I haven't read or written a lot of this ship, so I'm not sure what I like beyond it being two actors I love, two characters I love, and liking that they could both find a little bit of happy with each other. Also, it's interesting to think about the internal crisis Tony would endure for falling in love with the man responsible for his parents' deaths.

What are your favorite things about the ship?

I honestly have no idea. Like I said, I haven't really dug deep into this one yet, like I have FrostIron and WinterFrost. It's definitely one of my smaller ships.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

No, but I wish people would leave WinterIron shippers alone. Way too much hate flung at this ship and the people who write it. It's annoying.

Why don’t you ship it?

Honestly? It's because of Gwyneth Paltrow. I don't like her, as an actress, as a personality, as a hawker of vag candles -- whatever. I never liked her portrayal of Pepper. And don't come for me, y'all, bc believe me, I know how this sounds -- but I thought she looked too old to play Pepper. Yes, she was only 34, and RDJr was 43, and that's an age gap in itself (and coincidentally, Leslie Bibb was 35, which btw she does not look older than GP and...yeah). I think I felt the way they were portraying Tony Stark's womanizing ways it didn't make sense (to me!) that he'd go for someone closer to his age and stick to younger women. (Blame my brother. He's been dating girls my age and younger since high school. His first son's mother is my age. She was 4mo along when we graduated from hs. He dated a slew of girls near or around my age well into his 30s. His second son's mother was 6yrs younger than me. He's gross, I know. I tell him all the time.) Anyway, I love Tony and Pepper's dynamic in the comics (the few I've read), and when I RPd a Pepper (I did not use GP; I used my idea of a perfect Pepper: Jessica Chastain), I was told the way I wrote her was closer to comic!Pepper than MCU!Pepper, which I gathered was a good thing. People often misunderstand that my distaste for Pepper has nothing to do with the character herself. I LOVE the character. I think she's a badass, and I think she's the best working partner Tony could have -- which is why probably why I always writer her as Tony's closest confidant. But I also think they did Pepper a disservice by casting GP.

What would have made you like it?

A different actress, lol.

Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?

Like I said, I love the character of Pepper. She's a great foil to some of Tony's more grandiose ideas and she has a way of handling him without him realizing he's being handled. Maybe I'd ship it if she didn't start out as his secretary? There's something very creepy about a relationship between a boss and a secretary to me. Idk. As Besties, I love Tony and Pepper. Beyond that? No.

i love my rp partner, they’re so cool and we have the funniest conversations, but sometimes i really wanna get into plotting and we can barely get two sentences in without the topic changing and then it gets forgotten about. they don’t say nothing to circle back to plotting and i don’t wanna keep asking or bringing it up bc i feel like it’s annoying. ik they’re busy with school and their other interest so i don’t wanna keep being like “hey can we get back to this” but at the same time when we’re having back to funny convos i feel like we can also plot. even when i bring up ideas they like it, but never elaborate or bring up any ideas they might have. i don’t mind that they’re not so active, but when they are i just wish we could actually get stuff done

it wasn't bad!

most actual plays do about 0.5 systems - they nominally use dnd 5e but mainly just do freestyle rp. it's wild to hear someone kitbash together what, 6 fucking systems? multiple groups of players operating at multiple levels asymmetrically? what a big swing! it's so fucking ambitious! i don't even know if it's a good idea!

the big downside of the variety in systems means that a huge chunk of the airtime is spent explaining, discussing and negotiating mechanics. the mechnoir portion was the absolute worst for this and i think part of what made the first session or two so rough was the players just not understanding the game or how to effectively use their characters. the benefit of this immense variety of systems is...i don't know? maybe it's fun to play? i didn't feel like the extended kingdom interlude was that interesting and i would have definitely preferred the events of that to be relayed to me in a 10-minute convo rather than negotiated through another system where the players seem barely cognizant of the stakes.

i found it very difficult to understand what was going on with the setting. a lot of setting names are thrown at you very fast and at this point i still don't know if i could confidently describe all of the big movers and shakers in the setting. still not 100% on who the rapid evening are, who diego rose was, who most of the big corps are and why they matter. i don't hate any of what i learned but i'm not sold on the divines in general. rigour is cool because i understand what rigour is and does. i don't get how righteousness works, nor any of the divines which aren't a giant robot. even at the end, when they were saying shit like 'ooh grace won't like that' i still didn't understand what that meant or why it mattered. maybe i'm just too stupid. that said, the parts that i did understand i thought were pretty decent.

i liked the chime and i liked the cast. audy was cool and had some great moments tho as i said, still don't know why their status as a divine matters. aria seemed like an insanely poor fit for the group but i like ali acampora as an entertainer so it balances out. mako was consistently delightful and the introduction of larry was my favourite character beat in the season. cass didn't make that much of an impression on me and it was too easy to forget they were royalty. i think austin should have laid down the law super hard in the first session and been like 'hey you guys are criminals, you are mercenaries, you do crimes for money, be on that wavelength' instead of like, however the fuck he described their deal with orth.

big fucking mistake: the custom XP triggers he worked out. podcast or no, do NOT ever give players a mechanical incentive to play suboptimally. players already play suboptimally; the mechanics should lead them by the nose into optimal play strategies. i would not recommend giving a player like keith an incentive to fuck up the mission with antics unless you want to ruin your friendships.

i think i would have enjoyed a less structured game along the lines of what is actually suggested by the rules of the sprawl. i guess this is just actual play podcasts in general but the thing is, most PBTA games make it pretty explicit that the game works best when you come in with a set of starting positions and assumptions instead of a predetermined storyline. austin can't help but come in with a big sheaf of predetermined storylines, down to specific planned scenes and even fucking maps. i would love to hear a podcast where someone plays the game as written for once.

i have no idea where to go from here. i'm sure as shit not listening to marielda because i know it will make me big nerd angry. i am not so invested in the setting that i absolutely must find out what happens in twilight mirage. if the hieron stuff is good maybe i'll listen to that next but i think i'm gonna give fatt a break for a while.

i'm currently attempting to not fall asleep at work so here are the classes i've mained in bg3 ranked :-)

Monk (RP 6/10, Combat 20/10) - There's really not many monk unique interactions 😆 But there are a few convos where you get Monk Advantage! You can tell Gerringothe to stop coveting money / material goods which is funny, haha. Combat more than makes up for the lack of RP imo - nothing more fun than zipping around the battlefield knocking enemies Prone/Stunned 😎 Especially if you have a certain murder cloak...

Paladin (RP 10/10, Combat 8/10) - There's a bajillion unique RP moments for this, it seems! Paladins have a unique way to resolve tension/squabbles (and NPCs actually respect them enough to have them do it, haha). The Smite animations are INSANE and make Smiting so damn fun :-) Unfortunately, that does mean that combat isn't super interesting, haha. Just Smite spamming lol.

Warlock (RP 7/10, Combat 10/10) - There's a couple unique RP moments, but unless you're playing as Wyll (like me 😆) some players might find it lacking... But combat..! OHH yeah. Hunger of Hadar + Repelling/Agonizing Eldritch Blast + Pact of the Blade in the unlikely event enemies make it out of the Dark Cloud of Death... literally unstoppable!

Druid (RP 3/10, Combat 6/10) - After the Grove, there's really no unique interactions for this class from what I remember 😭😔 Wild Shape is cool but if I want to play a caster in combat, I'd rather play a Wizard 😔

If an NSFW part is making my uncomfortable or just isn't flowing, I might ask to skip over it or speed it up. My limits very low though, so no worries!.. probably.

100+ words, but beware! The length of my parts varies greatly- I might write barely 100 words and then spit out 750, and if I get to excited I type + read wonky, so edits may be made after message is sent, maximum 10 minutes after. Detail is appreciated, as is grammar use. M' flexible! (There are words that I will make up that make sense but aren't actual words and I can't remember any right now- sorta like flusterated? As long as I can understand it, I'll be ok.) You can use whatever person you want, but I'll mirror you- so keep it consistent!

With timing, it'd be nice if you could reply at least once or twice every few days- although my timing changes a lot, I'm usually messaging back within an hour ot two.

I have a lot of OCs and images for them! Faceclaims are great, but chances are mine will be an image I found on Pintrest and not realistic. Also, looking at my OCs now, most are male. I'm fine with making an OC just for this RP as well!

Yeah they’re talking about having to go back to Purgatory. If they have to go back I actually don’t think I’ll watch it. Or at least, like I said in the beginning, I’ll only watch Phil’s POV. I tried to enjoy it as much as I could, but that entire thing for 2 weeks was way too long. I block a lot of stuff and try to avoid Twitter, but even then I saw a lot of the negative fandom stuff, and how it affected different streamers. I think everyone – CCs and fans included – got burnt out by Purgatory. I know it wasn’t designed to appeal to me personally, and I acknowledge that, but I’m still sharing my thoughts because this is a liveblog (and this is also my post on my blog, lmao). There were moments where I had fun in Purgatory, sure, but I don’t want to experience any of that again. Like, I give the Election debates a lot of crap, but at least there were only 3 of them and at least they weren’t 2 weeks long.

Right now, my thinking is that if players DO have to go back to Purgatory, it will be optional, and hopefully the admins will completely revamp how Purgatory was designed (which I think will be the case because the Eye mentioned “new games”). I know they tried really hard, and I know the immediate negative feedback from the community was really disappointing and demoralizing for them. I hope they’re motivated to fix things, but even if they did make major changes… I dunno man. I’m so burnt out. I just wanna go back to Quesadilla Island so everyone can return to the storylines and lore they were working on before Purgatory interrupted things. Maybe after a few weeks back on the Island I’ll feel ok enough to watch more Purgatory content, but right now the idea of them having to go back makes me so tired.

Again, this is all just personal complaints, and I love the admins, but I’m just tired lol, and it doesn’t help that I’m staying up late to finish watching this VOD so I won’t fall even more behind than I already have.

Once again, I don’t feel the need to apologize for complaining about these things since this is my blog and these are genuine feelings I’m having rn. There are definitely MANY things that need to be improved about Purgatory if they want players to return there someday, but despite all that I want to emphasize that I still appreciate the admins and the work they do.

EDIT: WAIT NEVERMIND I JUST SAW THE TWEET, THIS IS THE BEST POSSIBLE THING THEY COULD"VE DONE. I almost wish I played Minecraft now.

GOD the way my brain fucking stopped working while trying to think of something! I’m gonna for with a scene from the curse of strahd game I was in…wherein the party got picked up in a carriage and given a ride by strahd himself! the TENSION was INSANE and my stupid little ranger boy flat out refused to help strahd and got fucking bit for it 💀 (so many rp scenes in that game were Juicy as hell I loved it so much)

I don’t know if this one will count cause the adjusting happened in between games BUT the most insane thing to this day was running the etharia campaign and my sorcerer telling me at the very last second of the wedding planning session that she wanted to get a scroll of true seeing from their wizard friend…and me knowing that the main antagonist of the game, the archdevil, was going to be attending the wedding in disguise and he was now going to be revealed because of this?! I was going NUTS adjusting how the wedding session was going to go! it honestly shifted the entirety of the rest of the game (got a really cool speech/convo with the big bad out of it and it Slapped)

oh so much…rhydian is always Observing (with that fucking high passive of his jfc), usually while doing activates to keep himself busy (boy really needs a distraction these days) fletching arrows, other little woodcarving projects, collecting plants (for poisons/stuff for cian/or just cause they’re pretty), probably also keeps track of plants and animals they come across in a journal. I do try to share as much as possible outside of the game cause this boy is not very talkative atm lmao

he’s getting along with the party well so far it's still hard for him to get super close at this stage cause he’s Going Through It atm! he probably feels closest to cian?? as the other resident “elven plant boy” there is certainly things to bond over (there’s also the fact that cian reminds him of his brother) but also minah is the only one to unlock major bits of his backstory so far so rogue bonding is on the fast track now and leo is slowly making it father figure territory so that’s exciting! he’s still slightly annoyed with riya some of the time but he also thinks she’s cool af so it’s complicated lmao

fan sessions are fun!!! in simplest terms is like a loosely plot based unholy mashup between script and paragraph styles

most in-character interactions will be over a group chat memo (script) while anything that happens "irl" will be paragraph, like land quest grinding, meeting other characters in-person, dreamself stuff, etc etc.

the actual plot tends to vary, but for the most part you need to be familiar with at least the very basics of how the sburb machines and lands work. no one really expects you to be an expert tho

however if u dont actually care abt sburb thats fine, its kind of the least interesting part of a fansession

theres a lot of opportunities for building relationships w/ other characters, torture ur own oc or just give them development in a way a slice of life chat wouldnt, and ofc give them cool aspect based god powers. imo the heart of any good fansession is the relationships yc builds with their teammates since thats what drew people to homestuck in the first place

buuuut the biggest drawback in a fansession is often its cooperative nature. ppl who dont know how to hold a convo, ppl who make really baffling rp decisions, and as always the ppl who are unable and unwilling to communicate ooc. id say like 80% of fansessioners are good seasoned rpers but u know how parp is sometimes lol

anywayy im going way too long lmao sorry but i recommend giving a session a shot some day if possible! (oh and lpt: if you join one and end up not feeling it dont be afraid to just drop the chat! its 1000x better than ghosting the chat and hoping the mods will kick you for inactivity. speaking as an occasional fansession mod myself ghosting is such a fuckin pain)

My Opinion on; @hungryyheart

Character in general: So cool, super sweet, and hilarious. Connie is such a nice character, every headcanon I read gets me hyped. I love how he feels like a realistically aged vampire. Old but still has his teenage habits. I really love his relationship with Chris, something about a childhood friend who's seen him grow just brings a smile to my face. Plus I love their dynamic. Chris will always have his friend's back no matter what.

How they play them: AMAZING! I love the bits of comedy that balance out the angst. I know I say realistic but it's the best way to describe it. Reminds me of really good tv writing where you have a very sad situation balanced out by comedy. Really helps you relate to the character.

The Mun: Cool! I've had a few convos with them and it was always nice! I need to reach out to them more because I have some ideas for these two. Really amazing writer honestly.

Do I: RP with them: Yes and yes!

Fun thing about tumblr is that settings allow anyone to set boundaries within the app and website.

For example, I allow everyone to send me anonymous asks using the app settings because thus far I am okay with them :3

I don't really have anything against DMS, but I don't start conversations and I don't Isuzu hold them well, which is part of the next things.

Alot of my boundaries with social media are things I set for myself. Things like "I can set down my phone whenever I want if the vibes are off", etc, but also

I do not share personal details about my life. Pretty much the only things people know about me are that I'm a white queer from the USA and other shit they've gleaned from my posting about experiences as an [insert identity] person. I don't share things like the events of my day normally, because I like to compartmentalize tumblr and keep my safe persona here seperate. I can spend some time in this little pocket reality.

And I never ask those questions of other people either, because I consider it invasive to want to know more about others than they know of me, [but of course what people choose to share on their own blogs is their own choice <2] so I don't ask more than follow ups (eg. If they say their sister was cool in the orchestra I ask what instrument but that's it. Fake example btw)

Most of my mutuals are people who either I've spam reblogged until we started legit interacting and I've said based stuff about the niche I followed then for, or people who spam reblog me and like my art n shitposts.

Anyone can tag me in stuff regardless of whether we're mutuals or not. I might not always answer, but that is not personal it is part of my personal boundaries. "I only have so much energy to give to this app and website" and "I can block hashtags if I don't wanna see my mutual's blorbo who's source material I don't care about, it's my own damn dashboard" and such.

And I answer specific question anons like this pretty easily, but I have a more difficult time with statements like positivity anons.

I love positivity anons ["if you're getting this it means we appreciate you", etc] but I find it hard to answer these because they are statements and because they sometimes come with instructions on how to pass them on because they are chain anons. Both of these take more energy than I am willing to spend, but I never delete them and I always enjoy getting them <2

I post a lot about Stranger Things and miscellaneous fandoms, and I welcome interaction there. Additions that add more insight or context to a post, etc. This type of conversation is easier to maintain, is something I am comfortable with, and is typical for the website and what I do here.

Of course, I usually don't shy away from conversing with others about what they choose to discuss on their own posts, with the understanding (the hope) that they will tell me if I am overstepping. And I also can drop it off someone appears to lose interest by not adding in case that is then wanting to end the convo.

Going back to asks, I accept asks of pretty much any topic, so long as they are well-intended and something I can answer well, as well as keeping with my blog's sort of "quota" (not getting too personal, relatively "family-friendly" as they say, and these are just my personal preferences, obviously, other blogs have different things going on that fit their own valid and swag preferences)

I also get asks on my sideblog @threesongsinatrenchcoat which is a music blog or either of my sthings rp blogs.

Basically, invade my space and if I haven't blocked you or confronted you just assume you are fine /hj
