Why are ppl scared to call it what it is and say we’re still going thru covid on top of seasonal illness. Like. That’s pretty important right. I was watching the news and they were like oh yeah we have an unprecedented number of flu cases “as well as other sicknesses” without actually saying Covid. No announcement abt vaccinations or masking or anything. Also if I hear someone joking abt “war flashbacks” for mentioning covid I fucking hate u

Also - I guess I never really mentioned it here - but I'm fucking PISSED at how much this whole COVID bullshit threw a wrench in my work plans this month. I was sick by the 1st, almost two weeks later still coughing and dizzy and can't work as much as I'd like to. I tested myself this Wednesday, still said positive. I just want this shit to be over, I have old commissions to work on, new commissions to start, other unnamed things to work on that are time sensitive, not to even mention my poor comic on Patreon...
I'm just angry. This is bs, I had plans.
Alright I'm done with my rant, I just wanted to vent.
I'm excited about everything I have to work on but I'm pissed that I cannot be working on them at the capacity I hoped for. Fuckin... *kicks stone*

I’m sorry but I just saw your post and discovered that the “it was like when you kiss a girl” line is from TWENTY NINTEEN?????? So after they had already fallen out dramatically at leat two separate times??? Insanity. absolute tomfoolery. Marc needs to get tf up and I need to lie down for a month
2019 confuses me so bad lol. like they have both publicly stated that they were done with each other entirely at that point and yet. and yet. like especially from marc hes like argentina really let me know that i shouldnt waste my time hoping (and then the misano fiasco seems to confirm that !) but. he also shakes vale's hand that year and compares it to kissing a girl. he also stares at vale peacocking for the cameras in his suit when they shot that motogp anniversery promo. and then from vale's pov these pictures exist:
like what. why. what is wrong with you two

"a dude in Texas legally changed his name to "Literally Anyone Else" and he's attempting to run for President against Biden & Trump" [source]
okay, but putting aside the comedic aspect of this, it is concerning the amount of people who are prompted to vote for candidates just because it's funny. I'm not the biggest fan of how his policy about the boarder sounds [Site], but I do implore anyone who is able to vote in the 2024 US election to please research other candidates.
The media is only going to continue pushing the idea it's inevitably going to be Trump vs Biden 2.0 and we have no other options, that we have to vote for Biden again because of Project 2025. Is that whole thing terrifying?
Yeah, fucking absolutely.
But voting for Biden will not solidify our safety from that. Biden is exactly like the rest of them. He always has been. You can't make the lesser of two evils argument when they're both just plain evil.
You cannot say that Biden is even mildly a better choice than Trump when he is currently directly involved in a genocide. That is not some little fucking thing. That in and of itself disqualifies him as a lesser evil. Biden is just as bad as him and he will not save us because he doesn't fucking care.
Cornel West [Site] is an Independent candidate running for President in the 2024 Election. [Policies]
Claudia De la Cruz and Karina Garcia [Site] are running for President and Vice-President as the candidates of the Party for Socialism and Liberation in the 2024 Election. [Policies]
There are options.
There are people trying to change the corrupt foundation our system is built on, but we have to help amplify them because the mainstream media will not.

My mom gave me covid for Christmas (likely before the holiday, when I was mailing her holiday baking for her because she has physical limitations that mean she can’t do it herself), but she also gave me the first four volumes of The Husky and His White Cat Shizun because she read the title instead of the plot summary and decided it sounded like the least objectionable thing on my wish list, so I forgive her for the covid thing
so anyway, Mo Ran is the most hilarious narrator I’ve encountered recently. It is sort of confusing to be laughing so much because I decided to read 2ha after being promised that the novel is really fucked up, but seriously, he is such a shit and it’s SO funny, spending an entire scene referring to Cheng Da as “Big Intestine-gongzi” destroyed me

I'm actually so sick and fucking tired of people who think covid is comparable to the flu. Just bc you or a family member got it and didn't die doesn't mean it's not super fucking serious and life threatening, ESPECIALLY for disabled people/people with health issues/autoimmune disorders. Every time my father sees me wearing a mask he rants about how covid is just like the flu and that everyone is over reacting and [insert shitty conspiracy theory here] and it makes me so upset every goddamn time. I got covid half a year ago, despite doing everything right, thanks to my parents' stupidity. I was sick for 13 days, entirely bedridden and feverish for 9 of those days. I physically couldn't get out of bed, not even to piss, the entire first day my mother had to half carry me everywhere. Same thing the second day, when she dragged me to the doctor where I tested positive. The first five days, I couldn't even look at an electronic device and had to keep the lights off all the time bc I'd actually vomit. I had a migraine that didn't go away no matter what medicine I took, for the entire the first week. My nose was constantly stuffy and my sinuses were so backed up I couldn't breathe through my nose, which made breathing in general so difficult and painful bc my asthma was also exacerbated. So my chest hurt too. All my normal chronic pain was magnified tenfold. I had a 103 fever for three days in a row, then it fluctuated between 98-100 the rest of the time. Thinking about it right now I still remember the pain and how it felt. I've had strep throat, a lot as a kid. I've had chicken pox, and the flu several times, because my parents never fucking vaccinated us. I have never been more sick in my goddamn life than I was with covid. And this is just me. Yes I'm disabled and yes I'm still being tested for possible autoimmune disorders (my mom and her whole side of the family have them) but even still I'm not nearly as at risk as a lot of people, and I was still more affected than anyone in my entire family, who have all also gotten covid because of their own stupidity. My taste and smell were never affected, but I'm still losing hair from it, which is apparently also a symptom I never knew about.
Wear. Your fucking. Masks. Covid is still around, it's still super fucking serious, it is NOT just like the flu, and you had fucking better take it seriously. Even if you don't care about getting it yourself, at least show some goddamn consideration for others whose health and lives are at risk.

We’ve had some possible exposures to covid lately despite being vigilant maskers, so my betrothed and I are both walking on eggshells wondering if we’re getting sick. It doesn’t help that it’s fall and we’re stressed, the time of Seasonal Funk and stuff.
To be safe we’re both doing the wet sock thing tonight which is the wooooorst but I’m gonna be so brave about it.

I’m ready to walk out of my job.
The last straw was, this week they cracked down on overtime. This was the last straw for two reasons:
1. Normally (pre-COVID), our patient volumes are lowest in summer. This year, we’re having winter-flu-season patient volumes (flu season is always the busiest time in the hospital). We now have the second busiest ER in the metro, seeing hundreds of patients per day (we’ve reached a thousand per day several times this year!!!) in a 25-bed ER. This is coupled with the fact we’re operating at 30-50% (a third to a half!!) normal nurse staffing, and have been doing so since 2021. There isn’t a staff member in the hospital who is twiddling their thumbs for a second. I heard tonight that the hospital is trying to end all their contracted labor early (and I assume we’re relying heavily on contracted nurses to fill staffing shortages!)
2. Because of this patient load vs low staffing, it is literally impossible for us to finish all the tasks we are assigned each day. But we still have to meet our metrics and are chastised/penalized when we don’t meet them! Worsening the situation: instead of asking each ‘problem’ staffer why they’re always clocking out late, my department management emailed all the problem people with “suggestions on how to leave on time”. Suggestions that are bullshit because they don’t address the actual reason the person gets overtime consistently.
So this whole perfect storm is coming together to convince me that corporate expects us to work off the clock. Which I’m about 95% sure is fucking illegal.
