so if you have yarn or crochet thread and a crochet hook. what you're gonna do is get those supplies a decent amt but it can also be odds n ends yah def dont need a whole skein. but yes so you have your supplies and now you're going to chain 2 then make a double crochet in the 1st chain. then chain 3. then you're going to make a double crochet cluster in the loop space made by the 2 chains and the double crochet you did first. so to do that you yarn over inset your hook into the space yarn over draw up a loop yarn over draw through two loops on hook yarn over insert hook back into same space yarn over draw up a loop yarn over draw through two loops on hook yarn over insert hook into same loop yarn over draw up a loop yarn over draw through two loops on hook yarn over draw through 4 loops on hook first cluster done. chain 3 make another cluster in the same space. chain 3 make another cluster in the same space. chain 3 make another cluster in the same space. chain 3 make another cluster in the same space. chain 3 slip stitch into the first chain from the chain 3 after the first cluster essentially forming a circle with a flower in the middle. *chain 3. double crochet in the 2nd/middle chain. chain 3. make 3 clusters each separated by 3 chains in the loop. chain 1. chain another 1 this time 'grabbing' the chain 1 separating the two flowers. chain 1. make 2 double crochet clusters separated by a chain 3. chain 3 and slip stitch to first chain in the chain 3 after the first cluster.* continue from * to * as many times as you want then just break your yarn and idk do what you want with your new creation! if you use like fine weight yarn you can make dangly earrings or a choker or an earring or anklet etc. if you use thicker yarn it can be a garland. you can experiment with adding more clusters/petals but i dont think you should add less. you can also switch colours for each flower which wld be tots rad! anyways yh hope you have fun with this

Six Sentence Stitch Sunday

Thank you so much @ileadacharmedlife for the tag!

I may have mentioned before that writing is not really a thing that is happening for me atm, BUT I have signed up to do a craft show at the end of the month, so I'm doing a lot of crochet. So you can have some of that instead.

A couple of years ago I made myself a pair of crochet pumpkin earrings instead of carving an actual pumpkin for a competition people were having at work. That achieved, I then promptly closed the browser tab with the pattern on and never thought about it again. Fast forward 2 years and now I'm doing an autumn/Halloween craft fair and I could really do with that pattern...

Could I find that pattern again? Absolutely not. So I spent a lot of time looking at my original earrings and trying to figure out what I did, which was hard because the stitches are very tight, and then I played with the shape a bit and finally, finally, I ended up with this:

I'm pretty happy with them and I think (read: hope) they'll be cute earrings and sell well!

I also updated my skull pattern a bit and will be making lots of skull earrings, too 💀🎃☺️

It's WIP Wednesday!

Thanks so much to @ileadacharmedlife for the tag! I'm taking a leaf out of your book because I haven't done any writing for months.

So, instead of writing I'm sharing a crafting update under the cut 🎀

I have had kind of a terrible time of late and I went through a period where I just couldn't make anything, of any kind, that worked the way it should.

But then! Out of the blue the weekend before last I managed to make a book sleeve out of a large granny square that I was actually happy with; something that functioned and looked good and I felt was a whole, complete thing. Something I actually bothered to finish properly - weaved in all the ends and sewed on a button and everything.

And that has been a bit of a revelation. I'm not managing to crochet every day, but I'm trying not to force it right now. I'm feeling much better in general about crocheting things though, so I'm trying out new ideas slowly. Which is where today's WIP comes in.

I saw a quick pattern on Instagram the other day for a simple bow applique which I thought looked cute, so I've spent some time with it making a few tweaks.

On the right is one made from the original pattern, and on the left I've made a couple of changes to the tails because I wasn't super fond of the original shape.

I particularly enjoy making earrings with tiny crocheted things, so I'm currently half way through making a pair. I couldn't find a good way of attaching the jump rings in the centre so I decided the bows could hang at a jaunty angle instead. That'll be cute, right?

Hopefully I'll finish the pair tomorrow and I might wear them out to lunch with friends on Sunday.

This got a bit long, sorry. I'm prone to rambling. It's nice to have something to share though! I might start doing that a bit more.
