“Oh 8oy. Yeah. 3 from a previous relationship 8ut they’re off doing their own thing nownights and one from a current relationship.”

((Definitely not. No interest or ability to have bio kids but I’m open to maybe one day adopting an older kid if I ever feel ready for that))

“They made us play gru88all as wrigglers 8ut other than that is 8eing a pain in the empire’s ass a sport?”

((Used to do Archery and was freakishly good at it despite being shortsighted and not having glasses back then. Kinda wanna get back into that. Used to run as a kid and was pretty good at it. Also used to do tae kwon do but I don’t do sport nowdays.))

“Um….I dunno? Is there something specific you should notice first or…?”

((No clue. I don’t like to make eye contact so I guess maybe..hair color? Outfit? Never really paid attention before))

“Right is teal 8ut my left is all fucked up and damaged red.”

((I guess green-brown? I’m a weirdo and they’re still shifting every so often but seem to be settling into the green-brown sort of range. Apparently they’re supposed to settle while you’re still a kid??))

Scary movies or happy endings?

“I don’t have any real preference, I don’t mind an occassional scary movie 8ut romantic stuff is mostly just the same things repackaged with different actors so it’s a 8ut 8oring. I prefer action, sci-fi and drama”

“Conditional immortality. I’m essentially an escaped imperial experiment. They fucked me up good and I’m VERY hard to kill and even then unless certain criteria is met I won’t stay dead”

((Where do I start? I’m the weird cryptid of my local town. Deceptive strength for my appearance. I don’t feel most physical pain. I heal abnormally fast. I have abnormal night vision, tongue spines, teeth that keep growing back when removed, hypersensitive hearing, my core temperature is above the norm for a human. I befriend wild animals like a Disney Princess…))

((Working with reptiles, specifically in the area of rescue and rehabilitation. I’m working on qualifications to get there but with that I have obtained currently I’m qualified for volunteer work. Just need a first aid course and snake handling course and I’ll have everything officially to get into it fully))

Jim Gordon's pal, the Shadow demon

This takes place in the same universe as "Superman's Pal, the Shadow Demon"!

The shadows of Gotham had come alive. The creature was massive, taller than a man, writhed in shadows, that seemed to move with an unnatural breath. It was made of shades of black, the darkest forming its head, hands and feet, and pooling around it, resembling a cape or wings, like those of a bat. Tall horns extended from it’s head, reminiscent of the ears of a bat, long claws tipped it’s hands. The only part that looked human at first glance was the lower half of it’s face, which was the grey of a corpse, traceries of black veins visible beneath the skin. It’s eyes glowed white, almost seeming to suck him into them. (...) Gordan swallowed, trying to clear his throat, not to scream, a scream would be useless in Gotham, but to ask a question. The creature reached out cautiously toward him with the back of a hand, the way a human would approach an unfamiliar cat “Are you the one who has been leaving criminals tied up outside the station?”

more lumberyard monster stuff including characters and monster anatomy. putting under read more cause LONG

characters:

Sixer: monster man. no idea what he is or where he came from, only that he doesn’t want to go back. is generally playful, lazy, incredibly quick to learn, curious, and a trouble maker when he’s bored. loves his tv, the dog, eating, annoying Dale, sleeping, and Alvin.

Alvin: lover boy. Tony’s nephew. Started working at the lumberyard not long before they found Sixer. is kind of quiet, gentle, relatively down to earth, clearly beat down already even in his mid-twenties, not helped by his verbally abusive and manipulative girlfriend who eventually becomes his fiancee as he doesn’t know how to get out of the relationship. loves working with him hands, modding/fixing things, old cars, all kinds of music, and chilling with Sixer.

Tony: the dad guy. first generation American. mom immigrated to U.S. from Mexico. loves motorcycles, making people smile, and his wife. is second pony to the owner, runs the saws, and is basically the lumberyard’s HR department. has four kids and is all-around a nice guy. see’s the yard crew as a second family. Named Sixer for his six limbs and is very proud of that fact. Thinks of him as his ‘buddy’.

Charlie: bull dyke owner. Took over the yard from her father. is happily married to a law professor. loves bourbon, her motorcycle, and her dog. used to smoke, has the smoker’s voice and laugh, and chews nicotine gum like her life may depend on it. is tough but fair. pretty no nonsense with most of her workers, but Tony who is both a family friend and her second in command and Sixer, who she dotes on in her own way.

Dale: Shitty guy. Hates paying child support. Just the worst. An HR nightmare before Sixer came along to keep him in place.

Brian: Alvin’s friend who also works at the yard. Likes to drag race, pick up chicks, and kind of instigates Dale even if he doesn’t mean to. Is kind of ambivalent to Sixer but likes the novelty of having this weird monster at the yard

McKenzie: cashier girl/secretary. Doesn’t work in the yard itself, but spends all day inside answering the phone and cashing out orders. Single-mother in her early twenties and Charlie allows her to bring her kid to work when she can’t get a babysitter especially with Sixer around cause he likes watching the kid. Kind of stuck up, kind of a party girl, but is fun to be around.

Scruff: Is a dog. Some kind of large shepherd mix. Loves to follow Sixer and is the one who initially found him on a rainy afternoon, injured and hiding behind the saw mill.

Angela: Charlie’s wife. visits the yard from time to time. Tony calls her the big boss because everyone watches themselves when she’s around. Is beloved by all save for Dale. Sixer has some kind of crush on her.

Monster anatomy bits:

- Sixer is a strange mixture of ape, panthera, and reptile in body shape, while gait swaps between felid and simian depending on the situation. is capable of sitting on his haunches to get a better look around and capable of walking for a limited time on two legs, though very awkwardly. hips generally sit lower to the ground than shoulders while walking on all fours as forelimbs are slightly longer than backlegs. is capable of reaching speeds of 35mph for an extremely limited time and can leap up to 30ft horizontally though is capable of walking for days on end if needed.

- is covered in large golden brown plated scales that are smooth to the touch. from the shoulder to just before the hips are large thick black spines ranging in length that can be raised and lowered at will to be flush against the back or stand straight up. spines are used to sense vibrations and temperature changes in the air to make up for piss poor hearing. also has some very vibrant neon blue markings that show up after his winter shed during the springtime along his back and sides and that fade by mid-summer.

- skull and face shape is vaguely human in that it is forward facing and very flat though with noticeable differences. face is covered in smaller thinner scales. eyes are larger, green-yellow in color with round pupils and has two sets of eyelids, one for blocking out light, the other for blocking out dust, debris, and water while still maintaining sight. nostrils are almost flush to the face and also large, covered by sensitive receptors that are activated by a chemical in his saliva, excellent at smelling. brow has bumpy ridges that stick out instead of eyebrows. jawbone is bisected and each side is capable of limited independent movement. has no lips. tongue is long and teeth are more ape like. has no external ear and is genuinely not great at hearing unless someone it talking directly at him. has a crop of black hair/fur on top of head that never grows longer than inch along with a few more psuedo-horns around the crown that are dull.

- six limbed. two hind legs and four arms, each ending in a foot/hand with four digits. one set of arms is slightly larger than the other and has larger claws and are used primarily for locomotion, climbing, and fighting/hunting. other set used for more delicate work. scales on the palms of smaller hands are notably thinner and more sensitive to touch for tool work, affection, and object manipulation. Tony jokingly calls the larger arms his ‘fightin’ arms’ and the smaller ones his ‘doin’ arms’

- from head to tip of tail, Sixer is about 12 feet long and from shoulder to ground when on ‘all fours’ stands at about 4 feet tall. tail makes up 30% of body length, is neither stiff nor prehensile, and is capable of a limited amount of wagging closer to the tip, generally used to signal mood though can be used to whip antagonizers.

-he sheds twice a year, the process taking about two weeks from start to finish and these have been dubbed as ‘hell weeks’ by the crew because they have a massive grumpy snappy itchy monster who rubs himself on every rough surface up to and including the buildings, forklifts, the lumber, any unfortunate cars, the fence, and Alvin for 12-16 days. the best way to deal with it is to hose him down twice a day or provide a small pool for him to soak in and give up on trying to get the garage broom from him which he uses to brush himself.

- opportunistic omnivore that can eat almost anything. to lead a healthy diet, requires 70% meat/organ/bone and 30% veg. while svelte, he actually gains a little extra belly cause of the access to a local deer/rabbit overpopulation and the crew just giving him food all the time.

- has a range of vocalizations and i still haven’t decided if he’s capable of speech or if it’s severely limited and the crew teach him to use asl cause it would make sense if he couldn’t form most words given mouth anatomy and I like it better than unexplained telepathy. i’ll probably go with that.

- genitalia are internal and male in nature.

monster man and the lumberyard extra bits i thought of:

- Tony gives Sixer a T.V. but it’s only hooked up to local channels so at night he watches a lot of bad television and soap operas.

- Sixer starts crushing on Alvin very quickly, but does not understand how to romance Anyone, so he tries to do a mixture of whats instinctual for him and what he sees on bad T.V. Alvin brushes it off for years, thinking Sixer is Just Like That. it takes him a bit to realize he’s catching feelings because while he is book smart, he also is, regrettably, a himbo

- some sneaky government thing is looking for him. so is a local cryptid hunting group. They get alerted cause some hunters find the remains of deer who’s wounds look nothing like something a local predator could do. no one suspects to look in the dusty lumberyard, of course.

- for holiday parties and get togethers, either Charlie or Tony always hand off a bunch of food to Alvin, telling him to go give it to the ‘old man next door’ so he can get away from his fiancee for a bit and so Sixer doesn’t miss out on the festivities

WIP Wednesday

✨ Hehey followers old and new, it’s Wednesday! ✨

... and gosh darn November is tough, huh. I’ve been up to my ears with procrastination projects and client work, but there hasn’t been much that I can show. But...

I’ve continued work with Meen’Alith the Half-orc Barbarian - and she’s been adopted into a D&D campaign! Above you can see her in her scandalously practical underwear and casuals. This hunk of a lady will head out into battle once I finish her gear:

As a side note, I am 100% in love with CSP for inking work.

In a more professional vein, I’m working on some vector character art for the Finnish Game Jam 2021 event. This party of adventurers are almost ready to venture out on the perilous path of game jamming!

During November I’ve been, it seems, focused on creatures. This here is a goblin ranger called Grux. Grux will - hopefully - get some clothing soon.

And then there’s a design of my Gloomhaven RPG character, Rose Saline the Quatryl Tinkerer!

And then I tried out something fun, a jewelry box mimic, combining a simple 3D render and digital painting:

Finally, I’m thinking of doing a series of explorations into combo creatures as well. This friend is an ancient frog-koala-bear cryptid:

So kinda out of nowhere, but I wanted to talk about my OC Aviyah.

So when I first made him, the whole point of his character was to hate Tord's guts. That was his only personality trait. I went through several very edgy reasons as to why, for some reason most of them having to do with Tord killing one of his family members, but eventually scrapped it and made it just that Avi doesn't like him because the other reasons were really heavy and OOC all around. Over time the hate turned into tolerance because of my headcanons for Tord changing.

His hoodie color being white was originally because it was to be like an angel to Tord's devil. That's also why Avi has a ponytail. It used to look like a wing to contrast Tord's horns. Later on I turned it into a normal ponytail because it was too hard to draw, and it didn't really match the Frankenstein, monster aesthetic. Plus he's atheist so it would be weird for him to have angel wing hair.

The hating Tord thing was also the reason Aviyah is in the Red Army. He was to be the guy destroying Tord from the inside, sabatoging the army so they could never be successful. He still does it now, but more as an accident than on purpose.

I have no clue where his love of cryptids or space came from. That just sorta happened. I mean, I guess the cryptid thing came from him crushing on Tom, and thinking Tomster was cool. But space... Idk.

If I'm remembering correctly, Aviyah is my first trans OC. I never made one before because I was afraid of screwing it up since I myself am not trans and have no insight as to what that's like outside of what I have been told by others.

There's a running gag of Aviyah writing Mothman fanfiction. That was inspired by me. I was looking through old papers and I found a REALLY bad selfship fic of me and Herobrine (or Herobrian as I spelt it in the fic). I cringe just thinking about it, so I stuck it onto Aviyah for shits and giggles.

There was a point where Avi ran his own army, called the Silver Army. That idea didn't last long because he's about as good of a leader as Tord, possibly worse. He's more of a follower type.

He didn't always have a brother. At first he had an older brother, but said brother was usually dead and had the Aviyah name before it went to the tall nerd we know today. After I scrapped the edgy backstory thing, I also scrapped him having a sibling in general. It wasn't until recently that Gerard was his twin. Tbh I don't know why I made him, but now I'm glad I did.

I don't talk about him much, but Avi has a huge German Shepherd named Kurt. Kurt was bought as a puppy because Avi couldn't get a wolf legally and a Shepherd was the next best thing. He is best guard dog boi and I love him.

OC AND REIGN LORE

ok so this is still a work in progress because I’m new but here are a couple of characters y’all might just enjoy:

They live in a different Earth where magik is recognized but also frowned upon immensely.

Lucas Holt

American, born in Texas. 20 year old gay male.

Cryptid hunter by night, student at a local college by day.

He has naturally brown curly hair, which he struggles to keep maintained. He struggles with depression but has slowly been getting better as he entered a romantic relationship with Jakob (and later Anthony). He is unaware of Jakob’s true nature until late in the timeline, after he figures out AM’s a magikal creature.

He has hunted cryptids not to kill them, but to release them into protected areas. He is unaware that these “protected areas” set aside by the government are actually soul-sucking zones full of waste and sickness until he investigates one with AM. His father and mother were famous for their anti-magik propaganda during the First Reign.

When he becomes ill he first denies it, then rationalizes how he is feeling against other causes such as allergies or exhaustion. When he is extremely sick, he clams up and won’t talk unless he has to.

Aythos Myrk // Anthony Matthew (alias)

Indian/American, born in California. 20 year old pan male.

Since moved to Texas

Cryptid magik user who has, since his [information redacted]’s gruesome death, stopped using magic altogether aside from a few minor glamours.

He dyes his naturally blue hair black in order to blend in better. He dangerously removed his horns in an attempt to stunt his magikal flow the year after his [information redacted] passing. His eyes shift colors depending on his emotions due to his extremely unstable power: emotional manipulation.

He swore to never use his power on others, not even to relax or calm them. He loses control of this power when he’s very sick, and once induced a heart attack from stress in his elderly neighbor who dropped in to check on him during a nasty bout of flu.

Jakob Kazakov

Russian/American, born in Alaska. 20 year old bisexual male.

Pheromone laced cryptid boy with a penchant for hanging out on school grounds.

Constantly sweaty, he oozes pheromones if he doesn’t apply enough scent blocker. While this does make him incredibly attractive, extended exposure to his pheromones renders the victim prone to hallucinations, vivid delusions and gastrointestinal distress due to dizziness.

Pale pink in almost every sense, he has to wear dark blue contacts to protect his eyes. He likes to wear soft, absorbent clothing. When he becomes unwell, he stops sweating, which can be dangerous if he runs a fever.

Kaj Asgier

Nordic/Czech, born in Scandinavia. 22 year old lesbian.

Anthony’s oldest friend, a closet magik user and an excellent alchemist/chemist. She loves to invent elixirs and balms for healing wounds and ailments. They only sometimes backfire.

She has extremely long black hair, skin pale as milk. She is short and soft as cotton candy. Wiccan, she prays to two Gods of healing, one Greek and one Egyptian. She cannot fall ill due to her natural immunity to ailments - this is from her sacrifices to gods of healing and health over he years. She is extremely succeptible to several allergens, however. These include but are not limited to cats, feathers, moss and several types of pollen.

Opal Ecans

Abusive ex girlfriend of Anthony, who drove him to attempt taking his own life. 21 year old female.

She is blonde, tall and generally perfect, which leads others to believe she is a good influence on Anthony. However after her appearance he grows more and more depressed, until it is eventually revealed that [information redacted].

The Basillisk Family

Government-engineered, these triplets are the only three synthetically grown magik users in the universe. They were bred to hunt down magik users and kill them in a bid to extinguish magik use and enforce the Reign’s control. They are all tall, and their hair is so blonde it looks unreal. They do not age, and they do not experience sexual attraction.

Rudyare Basillisk - firstborn, angry and out of control. Red eyes.

Paîga Basillisk - the only girl, killed in an altercation with [information redacted]. Blue eyes.

Quincy Basillisk - finalborn, calm and collected. Green eyes.
