This song kinda came on randomly and it almost immediately became the designated Pre-Deviant dbhc Doc song. I like how clean and robotic it sounds at the start and how the song becomes increasingly glitched out and unique/original as it goes— it kinda reminds me of the progression of doc’s programming slowly starting to question things and produce original thought until he realizes he can breach his programming and do whatever he wants, manipulating the beat and syncopation the same way he kinda starts manipulating robotics and everything around him :]

Todd and Phantom, Mostly Ghostly Shenanigans

That one Danny Phantom episode “Life Lessons” but its Phantom and Jason Todd tied together in the Ghost Zone.

Danny is confused why he’s tied to Jason and trying not to detransform while navigating the Ghost Zone and avoiding some of his enemies (They do stage another jailbreak after getting caught by Walker and steal Johnny 13 bike during the adventure) but Danny debates on making a detour to the Far Frozen to get Jason looked at, he doesn’t know whats making this random dude feel like he bathed in sewer water for a year but whatever it is should get looked at. Oh, and due to some reason his powers are on the fritz as well for a while (maybe due to a misfire from one his parents machines? Maybe the cuffs are shorting his powers out? or maybe Danny’s going through like a ghost growth spurt)

Jason on the other hand is trying not to freak out that he’s in the land of the dead basically and tied to some ghost guy. Last thing he remembers was trying to fight some green flaming Mohawk metal guy saying he is “a rare prize” and will be hunted for sport along side with his other rare quarry (The Most Dangerous Game much dude) before being knocked out and waking up in what is apparently the Ghost Zone. He’s also gotta pretend to be civilian Jason Todd as well. He doesn’t have any of his Red Hood stuff.

Basically they both try to keep their real identities a secret (doesn’t last long tbh) and get into some shenanigans in the Zone while on the run from Skulker and other of Danny’s rouges.

You know how in irl scandals when a famous rich white man is revealed to have done something really really bad, whatever it is - and despite the amount of proof, people are still split between turning against him or supporting him and thinking the scandal is a fraud

Imagine that if Gabriel is revealed to be Monarch and not some self-sacrificing hero. Fashion events in Paris will still be made in Gabriel's honour despite the revelation. Some people will call that out, outraged that a terrorist & child abuser is being honoured. Some will say you gotta separate the man from the artist. Others will say it's all lies and a wild conspiracy, because "Ladybug said so and she wouldn't lie to us", or because Gabriel always was an "honest man and would never do that". Another part might mistrust Ladybug, while others might defend her. Some might wonder if Adrien's part of it all, some might defend him. Some won't care at all about any of this and will just happily live their life now back to normal.

And "Lila" (whoever her name is) will look at all this mess and have a lot lot of fun 😊

Im casually re-listening to the TOA audiobooks, and istg it is SO GOOD!!!

The humor is absolutely funny and the theme is more mature, especially with a character like Apollo/Lester Papadopoulos, who is a complex character who has done horrible stuff and good stuff and is learning to embrace his humanity.

His relationship with Meg is honestly so sweet, and the way that they grow to care for each other, and I love how they address Meg’s trauma with growing up with an abusive parent (well, ‘step father’ but Nero ABSOLUTELY doesn’t deserve that title) and how she grows as a person to the point of being able to confront him and telling him off.

I also love how it also deals with Apollo’s not so good actions, especially in the Tyrants Tomb. The antagonists are also amazing, with Nero’s ruthless nature, manipulating children for his own goal and being willing to BURN CHILDREN!! to Commodus’s over the top style that also has a cruel side to it as he is willing to slice through as many animals as he needs to and is willing to kill his subordinates on a whim to Caligula’s extremely paranoid nature, causing him to change guards so often in fear of being betrayed, while also being incredibly selfish and power hungry, willing to do whatever it takes to become the Sun God.

The story is about dealing with abusive relationships while also dealing with the trauma those relationships leave you. It also deals with learning to be a better person, and that you have the ability to change. It also deals with platonic relationships, and how meeting a person can change your life for the better.

This story made me laugh, made me ache in sadness, and made me fall in love with the characters.

Trials of Apollo is such a great series.

Ga On took a deep breath, knowing he had to apologize for how poorly he had handled the situation.

"I'm sor—"

That was as far as Ga On got before he felt a sudden but fleeting sting of pain against his forehead. He flinched and looked up at Yo Han, driven by equal parts surprise and disbelief. One of his hands rose toward the spot Yo Han had, apparently, just given a flick with his fingers.

"Did you just—"

Yo Han gently batted Ga On's hand away before brushing the backs of his fingers against Ga On's forehead, as if to soothe away the pain he had just caused. Ga On's stomach flipped as he stared up at Yo Han, eyes wide, having absolutely no idea how to react.

"Stop apologizing," Yo Han reprimanded. His hand lingered, the touch light — soft like a whisper — and yet intense enough to send a shiver down Ga On's spine.

For a confusing, breathless moment, Ga On just sat there, too stunned to move.

Trying to get Poppy be like brrrrr 😬

Literqlly, retail stores sell Amaiya, Skylar and Violet, then Sunny, Ruby and Jade. There is no Poppy.

I had to go to a toyworld and searched right to the back to find an old winterbreak Poppy. Only other way is $90AUD on line. For reference, winter Poppy is $80 now, and the other fantastic fashion dolls are between $65-$75 AUD.

I'm collecting all the runway dolls but they are really expensive. Still deciding if this Poppy is worth it.

#history is awesome #presidential talk #most of the letter is on a similar level of unrestrained gushing #he was totally a sanguine #there are lots of fun letters which makes it very easy to keep reading #woodrow wilson's was more impressive than it might have been because it came right after the tafts #so i was just like 'thank goodness! someone who knows how to use punctuation!' #(but also it is a nice letter in its own right) #theodore roosevelt wins the prize so far for complete lack of punctuation #which does have the effect of making it seem very stream-of-consciousness which seems very right for him (esp at that age) #lucretia (soon-to-be) garfield's letter made me tear up though #i might need to make that its own post because wow the drama and the heartbreak (and the spine of steel that woman had) #i was unsure about this purchase but dang it might be the best book i've bought this year #extremely good formatting for one #lots of white space and nice clear font so it's incredibly easy to read #which is a very underrated aspect of books but maybe one of the most important things when it comes to the reading experience #i've started taking that into account when i select books and it's made my reading life so much better
