MAX DENNISON X F!READER ON HER PERIOD

warnings: none :) just dani and max arguing like children for a little bit

just max being a doting dope

“Max!” Y/n shouts from the bathroom. She had miraculously started her period a day before she was supposed to. She can even hear her boyfriend tumbling through the house like a crazy person until he reaches the bathroom.

“Uh yes babe?”

“Max can you grab me my bag pleasee.”

He goes to grab it quickly. “Why exactly do you need your bag in the bathroom?”

She rolls her eyes before grabbing the bag and slamming the door. “Thanks, but my cramps are going to kill me before I can answer all of your questions babe.”

“Cramps?” He decided to sit outside the door waiting for his girlfriend to get out and give him attention. So clingy.

Y/n starts to wash her hands. “Yeah Max period cramps.”

It finally clicked in his head. “You’re dying!” She wanted to roll her eyes so badly. A period didn’t mean death. At least, not most of the time. Y/n opens the door and sees her boyfriend sitting on the floor with a worried face.

“Max, I’m not actually dying. You know that right?”

“Yeah, but I still feel bad. You wanna watch a movie or I can go grab you some snacks or-” Y/n shuts him up by kissing him.

“A movie sounds good.” She smiles at him before he gets up and practically runs to pick out a movie while she slowly makes her way towards the couch.

Max goes through all of the VHS tapes and tries to grab the ones he thought she’d like the best. Even Dani’s movies weren’t safe from his rummaging. “Okay I got a few here what genre do you like more right now? Horror? Or comedy? How about adventure? Maybe a disney movie? Or even maybe mystery?” He kept rambling on trying to appease his ‘injured’ girlfriend.

It was really sweet though. “Let’s just call Dani from her room and watch a disney movie.”

“Dani? But I wanted to be next to you and that brat always pushes me off the couch.” If there was anyone that loved y/n more than Max did, it was definitely Dani. And suddenly it was like magic when the small pre-teen appeared almost out if thin air.

“Who you calling a brat?!” Max flinches at his sisters sudden appearance. And he gets even more annoyed when he sees Dani hop on the couch and curl into y/n’s side. “I’d love to watch a movie with you guys.”

Her smile annoyed Max more than it should’ve, especially because she was so smug about it. He decides to just play the movie and sit down on y/n’s other side. Although, when he attempts to put his arm around her Dani slaps it away. “Dani I’m going to murder you.” He whispers trying to make sure his girlfriend didn’t hear.

“I’d like to see you try.”

“Can both of you calm down? Let’s just relax and watch the movie. Please?” Y/n smiles at the siblings who sigh and give in.

“Y/n do you want snacks or something? I can go grab it real quick I promise.” Max begins to ramble again not wanting her to do much of anything.

“Max, shhh.” She pecks his lips and just leans into his side to get him to shut up and watch the movie. And it worked because feeling her relax into him made Max feel at ease. He lets out a content sigh as the three of them sit there watching the movie and, despite what they say, enjoy each others presence.

A small rarity, but it was welcomed none the less. Especially by the Dennison parents who came home to see all three of them sleeping soundly on the couch. Dani held tightly in y/n’s arms, and Max with his arms around both of them. Mrs. Dennison can’t help but snap a picture. One she’d cherish for a long time.

I’m surprised there weren’t any sort of cameos for Max, Allison, Dani, or Thackery (unless you want to count Cobweb as Binx’s cameo) in Hocus Pocus 2, I guess on one hand that’s a good thing because that movie is teeming with nostalgia as it is. But on the other hand I was wondering about those four while I was watching the movie. Like imagine poor Thackery, his soul is finally at peace and he’s been reunited with his sister, and he finally gets to relax after guarding the candle for three hundred years, and then he has to watch from the great beyond as Gilbert undoes all of his hard work, poor guy must’ve been having a conniption when he watched Gilbert trick Becca into taking the black flame candle. And as for Max, Allison, and Dani, do they still live in Salem? Because if so, then I wonder what they were doing when the Sanderson sisters returned, do you think Max looked at the sky, saw all the familiar signs of the witches returning, then saw them flying across the sky and was instantly like ‘Nope. Not again. Whichever dumbass virgin that lit that candle can deal with this bullshit on their own.’ I can imagine adult Max just being real tired and having no interest in dealing whatever hocus pocus bullshit is going on in Salem this time.

I know the point of the witches losing is hubris or whatever (and cuz it's (debatably) a kid's movie) but it will never not be funny that Winnie really went "I know we have all these kids that I made Sarah lure here to eat but that little BITCH called me UGLY so she has to die first!"

Was blinded by the car headlights so bad didn't see how dumb that was.

Guess who just watched Hocus Pocus and doesn't know how to be normal about a piece of media? Me

I kind of got carried away but yeah, enjoy!

After that Halloween night both Dennison kids have trouble sleeping. Dani wakes up night after night, witches laughter chasing her out of her bed. She went to her parents' room once and ever since she's gone to Max's.

He used to be unhappy when she'd wake him up, that's why she'd gone to her parents first, but after a dream about the sun not rising fast enough to save him from the witch, she didn't care.

Dani was surprised when he woke up and rolled over to give her space in his bed. He didn't even protest when she curled up against his back. It became a nightly routine for her to wake up and escape to her brother's room but finally after a month she cut herself off.

'It's been a month. I'm old enough to deal with this on my own.' So that night when she inevitably woke up, she stayed in her bed and she didn't fall back asleep.

Max would never admit that what had happened with the Sanderson Sisters on Halloween had affected him as much as it had. Sure they'd all almost died, and they'd lost Binx, but they'd defeated the witches and they were all safe now.

That didn't stop him night after night waking up with Binx's words ringing in his ears. "You'll never know how precious she is until you lose her." His dreams were either of losing Dani or having his life sucked out of him... both were horrible.

As it turned out, not long after he woke up panting a small figure slipped into his room shaking comfort. Max let Dani slip in next to him under the covers and curl up into his back because this way he knew that she was ok. It eased his mind enough to fall back into a dreamless sleep.

He'd grown used to waking up with his sister sprawled across him or tucked into his side, even if he didn't wake up when she came in.

So it had been quite jarring when he'd woken up in a panic only to find the side of his bed his sister always slipped into empty. He forced himself to calm down and to not get up to check on her. It hadn't even been a dream about her but somehow that had become his instinct.

After the third night of waking up without Dani slipping into his bed, Max let go of every piece of dignity he had and crept out of his room into his Dani's. She was wake, looking like she'd just woken up like he had. They stared at each other for a moment before Max made his way over and clambered into her much smaller bed.

Dani slid over as far as she could without falling off but soon enough Max wrapped his arms around her and pulled her to his chest. Binx had been right, but there was no way that Max was ever going to let anything happen to his sister again.

For now, he focused on just getting through the night.
