you mentioned dec/chilly??????? thought it was just me who loves them!!! very underrated ship, they don't get the love and recognition or the fics!!! they were really close and attached during the 2018/19 camps and I think ppl don't realise that. they have other besties and more prominent ships so they kind of get lost in the sauce as a pairing but there's so much potential honestly!! if you have headcanons for them or even a ficlet that would be amazing hun

The dim, cozy ambiance of England's training camp lounge sees Ben and Declan sprawled lazily on adjacent sofas, long lost in the latest video game the whole team has been obsessed with.

Sounds of muffled of cheering and playful taunts fill the air, the two of them locked in fierce competition.

Dec, with his eyes narrowed in focus, controls his player with practiced ease. Ben, on the other hand, with a determined set to his jaw, seems more intent on distracting Dec than actually winning.

Their competition isn't lost on the teammates around them. As Ben manages to score a point, raucous laughter fills the room. Mason, sipping on his drink, smirks, "Oi, Dec! You're letting Chilly win?"

Dec chuckles, playfully nudging Ben with his foot. "Only because he'd be whining if I didn’t."

Ben scoffs, nudging him right back. "Please, mate. I’m just giving you a head start."

Their easy banter and genuine fondness for each other, though obvious, remain largely unspoken. The team is well-acquainted with their relationship by now.

As the evening wears on and their teammates start to trickle out of the lounge, Ben turns to Dec. "You heading up?"

Dec nods in response, then a teasing grin hooks into his cheeks, "Why? You wanna come with?"

With a chuckle, Ben gives Dec a push, rolling his eyes. "Why do I put up with you again?"

Dec’s grin only widens. "Because you can't resist my charm, obviously."

The two weave their way through the maze-like hallways of the training camp, their easygoing banter and quiet jabs a quiet hum in the background.

Upon reaching the final corridor, they nearly collide with Jack leaving his room, who looks between them with a twinkle growing in his eye and a knowing grin forming on his face.

"You two heading off for some… post-game analysis?" Jack teases, eyebrows waggling playfully.

Ben, never one to be easily embarrassed because it's just Jack after all, gives him a faux scandalised look, "Just some post-match tactics, mate. Nothing you'd be interested in."

Dec chuckles, feeling mischievous as he wraps an arm around Ben's shoulder. "You have no idea. Chilly's got some really... innovative strategies."

That causes Jack to burst into a familiar laughter as he rubs at his forehead like he'd rather not know. Ben and Dec laugh together as Jack saunters away, calling back over his shoulder, "Have fun reviewing those plays, yeah?!"

Finally arriving at Dec's room, Ben can't help but shake his head and chuckle at the familiar sight of scattered shoes, strewn shirts, and a half-eaten packet of crisps on the nightstand. It's chaotic in a way that's purely Dec. But Ben doesn't mind. To him, it’s endearing, a visual representation of the whirlwind nature of the man he's fallen for.

Dec, noticing Ben's gaze, gives a sheepish grin. "Sorry about the mess. You know..."

Ben nods, moving closer and wrapping his arms around Dec’s waist. His skin is warm through the thin training top he wears. "It's part of your charm."

The two share a soft laugh, their breaths mingling, and then Dec cups Ben's face, drawing him in for a gentle, lingering kiss that Ben can't help but grin into.

Currently in a hot country right now, playing and training in this heat is no joke. I will be returning home hopefully with a tan but I just know I’m going to burn, as my mother keeps texting me to put sun cream on. Holiday season upon us, I’m usually training in a hat and scarf but here I am running around in a shorts and vest tops. I still can’t believe I’m here if I’m honest, dreams really do come true, and to do it with my best mate I’ve been friends with since seven is even better. But with the holidays coming up I do hope we go all the way so I don’t have to do any Christmas shopping for the family, winning the tournament can be the gift it’s a perfectly acceptable gift right? Declan, straight out the most predicable answer going, nah? But's he's been my best mate since age 6, so why wouldn't it be him? But if we were not going with the predicable answer, I think I'd try say Kai Havert. We don't play together any more due to both going to different teams, but we bonded loads, and think we'd work well as room mates.
