I don't have a lot of WIPs or existing stories, so a lot of these will be ideas floating around in my head. Also, I'm terrible at rules, so this is 15 lines of... stuff, give or take one or two lines.

Anyway, let's take a peek at Oyuun's life!

She wore a smile that would make Menphina blush. Her eyes gazed softly into his, searching them for any flaw, any imperfection. The longer she could find neither, the deeper her affection grew. She spoke no words, but he knew what she was saying all the same: I love you.

Oyuun opened the tavern door, revealing a torrential downpour. "Rain doesn't bother me," she said, turning back to Thancred. "You can meet me at the Bazaar later."

"I'll never know how Eorzeans got over the smell long enough to domesticate this godsdamned thing."

Oyuun sat in the grass, head cradled between her arms as she quietly cried. "I'll never be a mage..." she whimpered between sobs.

"My family? Hmph, I'd rather talk about something more pleasant, such as Morbol breath."

Oyuun snapped her book shut, her brow furrowed and her eyes down. "... you've made your point."

She wore a scowl that would make Rhalgr cower. Her eyes peered unblinking into his, searching them for any sign of remorse, or even sympathy. The longer she could find neither, the deeper her enmity grew. She spoke no words, but he knew what she was saying all the same: I hate you.

Jim and Spock: Vulcan married (by accident) in that Spock's pon farr was resolved with Jim (they rolled in the sacred sands and didn't die!)

Bones and Spock: Vulcan married (also by accident) in that they have an irreversible bond after the fal-tor-pan (I think this extended his lifespan to match a Vulcan's but idk where I read that, might've just been fanon)

Jim and Bones: Human married for sure. they had Spock officiate (partly cause he's the first officer and is able to do that, and partly cause they love him and wanted him involved) and they both cried.

all three: take turns getting married in all sorts of different cultures whenever aliens want them to do their special bonding ceremony. (same post as before but it's relevant here too) Once they encountered a planet where the locals marry in threes and of course they did it. They didn't even need to for the mission but they wanted to so bad. Jim and Bones cried again and Spock smiled when nobody was looking

Hear ye hear ye, you are cordially invited to Verdant Shield [VS]’s third monthly community art party, open to one and all across both NA and EU servers!

An idea migrated over from Final Fantasy XIV, art parties are basically community get-togethers where artists of all kinds can hang out, chat, and create together! Digital, traditional, mixed-media, screenshots, poetry, prose - whatever your chosen medium, these sorts of events are for everyone, regardless of skill level! Dress your best, find a character that inspires you, and create! Afterwards, you can post your creations in the party’s specific tag (ours is #VSArtParty) so others can see and spread the love around via reblogs! As I’ve said every time I’ve written one of these up - the ‘goal’ of attending an art party is not to be drawn, but to draw others, and share with the community!

After last month’s NA party spilled out of the intended locale before it even started, this month’s location will be a nice open space most should be familiar with: the Crown Pavilion in Divinity’s Reach! Host to not one, not two, but (sort of) three in-game festivals, the main grounds under those graceful eagle wings offers ample room and excellent lighting for scoping out your next victim subject with ease! The squads for each party will open approximately 15 minutes before the start time and will, as usual, not be posted in LFG in order to deter party crashers (though we’ll be way easier to spot in this location so that may be a moot point haha).

Ah Divinity’s Reach, land of so many excellent locations that are all very very tiny and hard to swing a camera around in. I didn’t want to accidentally steal any RPers locations and also wanted a well-lit open area after the NA Grove party’s perpetual darkness, so the Crown Pavilion it is! If you somehow haven’t been to DR yet you can backtrack into it from the auto-unlocked Shaemoor Waypoint in Queensdale or take the asura gate from the Lion’s Arch Gate Hub Plaza! The whole map is a big circle, and the Crown Pavilion takes up the Westernmost section:

I am ecstatic to report that there’s a Jade Bot terminal located right smack in the middle of this place, so zooming around to get reference screenshots has never been easier (but when will they let us launch at will like in that one instance?)!

Now, on to the real nitty-gritty stuff:

Just as last month, this month’s party will consist of two separate art parties, each 3 hours long, with a 1 hour break in between to let people rest, grab snacks, swap accounts if they want to attend both, etc etc.

The first party will be on EU servers and begin at 9pm Central European Time (that’s 3pm Eastern Standard Time for NA). I’ll once again be hosting on my EU alt, so to join you’ll want to either whisper Ashelin Falstaff for an invite or type ‘/sqjoin ashelin falstaff’ in chat to auto-join.

The second party will be on NA servers and begin at 7pm Eastern Standard Time (that’s 1am Central European Time for EU). I’ll be on my main account for this one, so to join please either whisper Naveen Sen for an invite or type ‘/sqjoin naveen sen’ in chat for that sweet auto-join action. Should there be an overflow for the NA party like last month, I’ll either rope another [VS] guildmate into hosting an overflow squad, or start shooing people who are already in the right map out of the squad to allow others to taxi in - we’ll play it by ear should the need arise!

How do you draw dragons? All of them look absolutely amazing and I'm horribly curious.

im not sure how to answer this, because i dont really know! i've been drawing dragons for so long that the process is almost Entirely subconscious at this point.

hm... i know that when i was pinning down the Technical aspect of their anatomy, i mostly modeled them off of cats & horses. i still do, in a sense! but really, i draw them like i draw anything else. i break them into simplistic puzzle pieces and just... slap em together

like the dragon Wallies i just posted kinda show my full process - i didn't erase any guidelines! You Can See It All! circle for the head, circle for the chest, bumps for where the limbs go. the neck triangles into the chest. etc. uh. yeah!

Ultraman Blazar's Salutations From Episodes 1-5 (ft. Bazanga, Leviera, and a sleeping Dorgo)

[Video description: Ultraman Blazar, a colossal grey humanoid alien with red and blue markings on his body, and blue markings on his face, performs his signature salutation in several different places and times. This salutation consists of raising his arms up to the sky in a circular motion, and bringing his knee up before stepping into a lunge and scooping his arms down and upward.

From episode 1, in a city at night, the camera watches from below, as Blazar performs his salutation and his markings flash red and blue. The shot cuts to a wider one, showing off the buildings and Blazar's opponent, Bazanga, a prawn-like Kaiju. After his salute, Blazar moves his hands into a guarded, fighting stance.

From Episode 2: Blazar stands against the bright blue day sky in a small fishing village, with much shorter buildings. He faces the camera directly as he does his salutation, and the camera zooms in on him as he does it and his markings flash red and blue once more.

From Episode 3: Blazar is framed in a head and shoulder shot and smothered in smoke as his colour time, a big round spot on his chest that is normally blue, flashes red. Once more he faces the camera as he does his salutation, before flying off, kicking up dirt in his takeoff.

From episode 5: Blazar stands behind the sleeping kaiju, Dorgo, who looks mostly like a hill of dirt in this shot. He performs his salutation, and immediately begins to push the sleeping Kaiju back to its proper resting place. The shot switches to one of Blazar from behind, as he continues to push Dorgo back into place, among the green hills and mountains of the Japanese countryside. With a thump, Dorgo returns to his resting spot, and Blazar turns to face the camera as he jumps up into the air to fly away.

i joke about how the writers give hershel layton a new tragic backstory every ten years but also. sometimes i think about how weirdly regular it is and how he lost his family at 6 and his best friend at 17 and his girlfriend at 27 and let's not even get into what happened when he was 37. and i think about how the human brain is pattern seeking and how hershel layton sees the world in puzzles and how he has trained himself over decades to solve any puzzle he's given. and i wonder if he's ever put the pieces together, this character who has no idea he exists solely as part of a narrative, this man who has lost family and friends and significant others every decade of his life. and i wonder how he felt, a decade after unwound future, with an 8-year-old daughter and a 16-year-old son and another daughter whose age we don't know, when he turned 47.
