Ginny Gothel Headcanons revised;
Tumblr media
Trigger warning for child abuse and near death experiences.
🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼
Her full name is Ginerva Flower Gothel in honor of the flower her lost because of Rapunzel's birth. She hates it with a passion.
It's also kind of ironic considering the fact that she's allergic to most types of flowers.
Ginny is tall and slim with frizzy black hair and grayish-blue eyes.
She is a couple months older than Harriet.
She also DOES NOT get along with her mother like AT ALL.
No, seriously, they are constantly fighting and the fights get violent 70% of the time.
Ginny has two younger brothers named Mason and Glenn . They're twins. As well as an older sister named Cassandra (from Tangled the series), who she loves dearly despite the fact they drive her mad half the time.
She also gets along well with her sister's two friends, Hugo and Varian. And the Stabbington twins surprisingly.
She cannot say the same about Cassandra's ex, Andrew. She does NOT like him at all.
Varian, Cassandra, Hugo, and the Stabbington brothers taught her everything she knew.
She and Cassandra are as close as siblings can be on the isle.
Despite giggling about Harriet's ugly dress, she does consider the pirate captain a friend . She's even apart of her crew.
She gets sea sick, which is funny considering she is almost always on the ship.
She is the chef mate of the Queen's Fury because she's one of the few people who know how to cook on the ship and the only one who is willing to do so because she thinks it's easy.
She is a member of Diego's band, unaware /maybe just not caring about Diego's role in the Antiheroes' club.
Ginny plays the tambourine as well as the harmonica and she also sings occasionally.
She's also friends with Anthony Tremaine, Big Murph, the Gaston twins, Lefou Deux, Claudine Frollo, Jade, Mad Maddy, Clay Clayton, Diego de Vil, Sammy Smee, Rick Ratcliffe, and just about every crewmate of hers.
She and Clay Clayton have a thing going on-- they're still not sure what to call it. They think it's dating but aren't quite sure.
Ginny's good at singing, sailing, sailing, apple bobbing, dagger tossing, dagger juggling, dart throwing, gymnastics/acrobatics, dancing, chemistry, sword-fighting, cooking, potions, and swimming (Harriet taught her how to) but she's terrible at cards and dancing.
Ginny also likes to read very few things. Usually Gothic tales and music sheets.
She loves toad shots and apples.
She has a seemingly unlimited amount of daggers that seem to come out of nowhere. No matter where she is, no matter who she's with, she always has a dagger. Even if you've already taken one from her.
Unlike her mother, she doesn't care about staying young and beautiful forever. She thinks it's dumb.
Ginny, like everyone, doesn't like being crossed and can hold a grudge for a very long time. A bad habit she is trying to break.
Maleficent isn't the only villian she has stolen from or who's house she has ransacked.
She has the following weapons-- a longsword with a red and black handle, and a golden dagger that also has a red and black handle.
She swears ALOT which annoys the hell out of her mother. Which is why she does it.
She doesn't respect alot of adults on the isle with very few exceptions.
Ginny often pushes /scares people away because she's scared of rejection, being replaced, failure, being abandoned, being locked away, and turning out like her mother (Despite her sister assuring her that she won't).
Ginny is a bit of a smart ass and mouths off to people alot. Even though she really shouldn't since she is almost as bad as Anthony and LeFou Deux are at fighting.
Her favorite color is Burgundy, black, and gold.
She was one of the 1st to ransack Maleficent's place after d1. She stole several of Maleficent's cloaks.
After the barrier is brought down, Ginny joins band and choir at Auardon prep and after ALOT of nagging from her sister, she apologizes to Mal.
Rapunzel and Flynn immediately reached out to Cassandra, Varian, Hugo and the Stabbington brothers along with Nuro and Yong when the barrier was brought done and were surprised to find that Gothel had more kids.
Mason and Glenn end up getting along splendidly with Nuro and Yong, and to Cassandra's dismay, Flynn and Lance.
Ginny begrudgingly gets along with them and their kids quite well after a couple of months.
They are also horrified to find out that Gothel use to lock Ginny and her brothers in the attic as a punishment, and make sure everyone knows that Gothel isn't allowed near them anymore.
She has suspicions on who her father could be but she doesn't have any solid proof (Captain Hook for one).
She actually goes to school alot more than the other kids do because It's one of the few things she enjoys.
The scaredest she has ever been is the day she found Clay almost dead after he was found face down in the pool at Mal's Hellraiser party.
She's also allergic to most flowers.

The VKs and Games
It doesn't matter what kind of games they like to play. It doesn't matter what kind of game it is. The very notion of a game is warped, for some of them.
The last time Harriet Hook played a game, it was in an attempt to keep her barely-out-of-toddlerhood siblings quiet and occupied as they crouched in a small dark place on the Jolly Roger and their father rampaged in a drunken rage.
The very idea of playing a game is completely foreign to Claudine Frollo. She genuinely has no idea what it is.
The only games Mal, Uma, Evie, Ginny Gothel, and anyone else with fairy or witch blood have experience with are word games, riddles, where one misspoken word costs you a lot more than the game. They are experts in wording things very carefully and finding loopholes.
The only games Freddie and Celia Facilier have ever played are card games. And they're always for something, even something small and useless. Games are never for free.
When Carlos was younger, Cruella sometimes played a game with him. Usually it involved Carlos having to pretend to be a puppy and Cruella hitting him with her cane if he forgot.

Ginny: I don't think Harriet's ever gone to sleep before 5am, and it’s really just concerning at this point
Ginny: let's not even talk about Anthony. He wakes up at 4:45am on the dot, every morning, without an alarm clock. That's terrifying.

More details about how the Isle kids cannot process or interpret emotions....

Yes to all of these.
Ginny doesn't even know what she's feeling.
Mal was raised to be a perfect copy of her mother. But she doesn't want to be her mother, she hates her mother, but she doesn't know what else she is besides a mini-Maleficent, so she hates herself too. Anything that's close to her, she pushes away, rejects, makes them as unlike her as possible. She did it with Maddy. She did it with Uma. She would have done it with Evie, eventually, if they hadn't gone to Auradon.
The only way Jay ever earned his father's approval was through stealing. Even years later, he'll habitually steal little trinkets to gift to Lonnie without even noticing.
Evie doesn't know how to have any relationship with anyone that isn't seducing a prince.
Sammy Smee was raised in an violent environment full of anger and shouting. Even once he was on Harriet's ship, well, Harriet also gets angry, and also shouts, because she was raised in that same environment. Sammy can't understand anything that isn't like that.
Freddie and Celia don't trust anything that's for free. Everything has to be for something. Everything is in exchange for something. No one is simply "friends" with anyone, they have to be getting something out of it. It's only a matter of figuring out what, and making sure you won't be left at a disadvantage. (And it can be inferred that Freddie and Celia had one of the better childhoods on the Isle, so if this is their view on relationships, imagine everyone else's!)
Squeaky and Squirmy trust Sammy to be their provider, their teacher, their caregiver, and no one else. They don't know how to relate to anyone who isn't him. They just sort of shut down. Not with their father, who loved them but never tried to protect them, not like Sammy did. At least Sammy tried. Not with the Hook siblings, who were always getting involved in various dangerous shenanigans and who scare them, just the tiniest bit, even though they also help them and take care of them. No one but Sammy.
Dizzy....Dizzy has two examples: Anthony and Lady Tremaine. (Her mother never even pretended to love her. Her aunt was too beaten down to show it.) Anthony loves her, and everyone knows this. But Anthony was raised to be a lord on an Isle full of the dregs of society, an Isle where everyone ridicules those with pretenses to greatness. Yet his grandmother insisted, and he doesn't know how to show anything but his facade. He tells Dizzy he loves her, and he does, but he speaks coldly, strictly, harshly. He rarely, if ever, shows anger. No outbursts of emotion; hardly any emotion at all. No raising his voice. No playing games, no hugs, none of the things Dizzy would like to do. And Lady Tremaine....she really barely feels any emotion at all, not anymore. Of course she loves Dizzy, she says. She's her grandmother. What kind of grandmother wouldn't love her granddaughter? If only Dizzy would do her chores quicker, better, quieter. If only she would behave well. Then she would surely show Dizzy that she loved her, more than just saying "Of course I love you Dizzy" without even a smile and sending her off to the salon. Or so Dizzy believes, anyway. Anthony has inherited far more of his behavior and mannerisms from his grandmother than he would like to believe.
And Claudine. You see, Frollo usually does not lose his temper. He rarely shouts or rages. He prides himself on keeping perfect control on his emotions. And so Claudine doesn't associate loud noises or shouting with his anger. No, she associates frighteningly calm voices, in an even tone, with no expression, excoriating her with the harshest of words. And of course she thinks she should be hurt. Anyone who cares about her would hurt her as a punishment, so she should learn to do better. She doesn't like it, of course, but it's what has to be done, right? Right?

You know, I think I've finally figured out my issue with Ben's coronation in the first Descendants. It's the fact that he doesn't really appear like the next King, you know what I mean?
Let's take an example from another Disney coronation: Mia's in the Princess Diaries 2. You can see that she's seated in the center of the room, holding the orb and scepter as the crown is taken from Clarise's head and put onto her's. Mia's still young to rule (even if, compared to Ben, she's at least a legal adult who's graduated both high school and college and could legally drink in the US should she want to) but it's clearly established that she is the next queen.
Now take Ben's coronation. He's kneeling down in front of Fairy Godmother, his mother, and father. When was the last time you saw a king kneel? Not counting a proposal? The crown is then taken from Beast's head and put onto the still kneeling Ben, and it's obvious that unlike the crown Mia wears in her coronation, the crown does not fit Ben's head at all.
I dunno, I think if the writers had played into that more in the other movies; like if they had the reporter who called Mal 'King Ben's girlfriend from the wrong side of the bridge' talk about King Ben having to deal with uncertainty from the people that he's not just a puppet of his father or had more consequence given to Ben shouting at his dad at Cotillion or I dunno, had people ask why the former King was able to order the guards in Descendants 3, I wouldn't have an issue with it but it's clear that they didn't so why not give Ben a coronation that would have had traditions from history (and that Disney has established as traditions in their own movies)?

My version of Anthony Tremaine!
The only grandson of Lady Tremaine and the second eldest of all of her grandchildren (this leaves many people to assume he's the favorite and they're not entirely wrong, he's just one of the few she's willing to put up with. ((the real favorite is Dizzy and he knows it)))
His father is one of Shan Yu's soldiers, who was in a committed relationship with Anastasia at first.
His father immediately disowned him and his mother the second Anastasia had announced she was pregnant, and since then, Anthony prided himself on being a Tremaine.
He doesn't know who his father is, and at this point, he tries to act like doesn't care.
He treats most of his sisters and cousins as nuisances, but you wouldn't dare disrespect any of them around him (and don't refer to them as "half-siblings" either).
He's not a fighter or warrior of sorts, so don't expect a fight (he'd more than likely lose), but he's smart and clever enough to find other ways to exact revenge.
Bisexual, he doesn't lean toward any gender in particular and doesn't really bother hiding it.
Self taught on the piano, Lady Tremaine offered lessons but neither of the two had the patience for the other.
Anthony's also a talented dancer, he learned ballroom from Lady Tremaine, and mimicked what he saw on TV (his favorite show was Dancing With The Royals).
Lady Tremaine also taught him how to sew, which is why most of his clothes are fitted perfectly for him (he started the patched leather trend).
Anthony is no stranger to makeup. He usually sticks to a natural colored lip and eyeshadow, and concealer, but he also contours his face and sticks to darker colors to make himself look older and more mature ("like a lord") for special occasions.
He's as vain, greedy, and self-centered as any other villain on the Isle, but he stays in his own lane. As long as you mind your business, he has no real problem with you.
His desire to leave the Isle rivals that of Uma's. He's usually very low-key about it though.
Anthony swears that he will regain his family's property, assets, and social standing, and he's willing to do so, no matter the cost.
Despite the Isle's unique societal norms, Harriet was the first person Anthony truly fell for and they became the first official power couple of the VKs (This would then boost his reputation with his peers, and have others throwing themselves at him, thus ruining their relationship and resulting in Harriet and Ginny's fight at Uma's birthday party).
Once he gets to Auradon, he and Chad become sworn enemies. (And it doesn't help that he and Audrey start dating soon after Maleficent's second attack at Auradon Prep)
@lilicohirukoma (because I remember you wanted to be tagged in anything I post involving him).

Hehe a Maddy fic that's lived in my brain for like 4 months. Also a bit of a different tone for a Mim, but a good one.
Maddy insisted that she couldn’t love. Insisted that she didn’t care about anyone, not even herself. Her only love was for her drugs. Yet as she stood in her lab, the door brigaded against her family. She knew she was lying to herself. Why else would she be in here for the nith time synthesizing medicines if not for Ginny.
Her long tangled hair pulled back into a ponytail was still managing to get in her way, she really needed to cut it. But afterwards, not now, not when she was so close. The formulation was almost there, almost perfect. The compound was almost complete. Just another….
Ginny.
She was right there, wrapping Maddy’s thigh. Grandmother must have gotten angry again. Her short hair still had a curtain over her eyes as she watched the cloth tighten around her. Deft fingers moving around scars and scabs. Ginny’s fingers froze when she finished causing Maddy to actually look up.
Eyes briefly meet before she shifts her eyes to her tattoo, stars peeking out of her dress. Maddy already knew every one, every placement and shape you could make out of them but it didn’t stop her from counting again. She had reached ten before Ginny squeezed her knee and truly sat beside her, bringing her back into the moment. No words passed between their lips, there were years past that being necessary.
Bandages were wrapped around Ginny’s wrist, her mother must have blood let again. Explains why she’s a touch paler than normal. She wondered if it had been her that wrapped the bandages, they typically wrapped each other's wounds, especially when they were family related. Maddy needed to find her journal, see how many days had passed, see if she had finally finished the insulin compound. Ginny could really use that.
But not right now. Not when they rarely get time alone anymore. True time alone. Not time with the constant threat of Maeve walking in or Gothel dragging her into another ritual. No. Maddy will be present with interlocked fingers and matching stars.
It becomes harder and harder to do either of those things. But with Her? It’s like nothing at all.

Dinner at the Hooks
Part one of ??; cca 1k words.
Mostly just disaster threesome and Huma flirting, ngl. They didn’t even get to the Jolly Roger yet.
For future reference: Hook kids’ mother is a siren and she’s very much trying to kill James Hook. Everyone but James Hook knows this. Hooks might or might not have adopted Claudine Frollo, I’ve got yet to decide. Also, Uma has a godly father because if Mal can, so can Uma. (It’s not Hades.)
I hope you enjoy!
Harriet slams open the door to the Tremaine salon: Seems like she’s in luck today. Anthony’s in the corner, combing through Ginny’s wet hair. How convenient.
She lets her eyes linger on them for just a heartbeat before glaring around the salon and barking a sharp „Out!“
Anthony glares at her, all disapproving, as if to say, „Don’t kick the customers out of my salon, Harriet.“
Well, too bad. She doesn’t care for his customers at all, and she’s prepared to show him so – the mirror on the wall looks a little too uncracked for her taste.
She narrows her eyes at him. Little effect, really, except for Ginny’s intrigued expression and her hand reaching out to his, as if to stop him from arguing, at which he huffs and turns up his eyes. Excellent, fucking finally.
„I said, out,“ Harriet snarls at the customers that unwisely didn’t take their leave yet and at the Tremaines she doesn’t care about.
Just as the doors click, she stalks closer to Anthony and Ginny, and slams her hand into the chair behind her shoulder; Ginny straightens just a little bit.
„My parents are organising a dinner, a family get together,“ she says, „You’re both invited.“
She looks Anthony into the eyes – he’s crossed his arms over his chest and is still glaring, that bastard, – and then tilts up Ginny’s face with her pointer finger to get her attention more surely.
„Meet me by the Jolly Roger at eight.“
That should about do it.
„Did you really just kick out everyone out of the salon just to ask us out?“ Anthony asks with a hint of disbelief. She scoffs at him: The fact that she did exactly that doesn’t mean that she’ll admit to it, obviously.
„I’m trying to be nice here,“ she says instead, „Would you prefer it if I kidnapped you?“
„I would,“ pipes up Ginny.
„We know, Sunflower,“ sighs Anthony as he slides his hand onto her shoulder and curls his fingers in just slightly. Harriet smirks at the sight a bit.
„Come,“ she says, „At eight to the Jolly Roger, my whole family will be there.“ She herself isn’t sure if that’s a threat or not. „I’ll be waiting for you.“
She decides it probably is a threat.
She shows off her teeth in a smile before leaning down and kissing Ginny – she lets the kiss linger for once as she drags her fingertips over her jaw. Eventually, she tilts Ginny’s head back again and straightens up to face Anthony.
She steps closer and kisses him too, sliding her hand over the back of his neck. „Don’t you dare stand me up, Tremaine,“ she breathes into his lips.
„How could I, Captain?“ he asks, as he pulls back „With such convincing arguments that you give.“
She cackles, and as she walks away, she shows him the middle finger.
She hopes they come.
………
„Harry,“ Uma opens the door to his rarely-used cabin and leans on the frame. She smirks as he turns to her, make-up half-done and a gold chain dangling down his chest. „The dinner at your parents’ starts soon.“
In about quarter an hour, really, but the Hooks consider time a suggestion at best and showing up late is more fashionable, anyway.
„Thank you, love,“ he tells her, twirling the eyeliner pen in between his fingers, „Give me few moments to finish getting ready?“
The best part is, she could say no and he’d drop everything and go as he is now, just because she said it. She smirks at the thought. But:
„Of course,“ she says instead, „We want you to look your best, don’t we?“ (And if by „we“ she means mostly herself, well, who can blame her? It’s only her right.)
„Of course, Uma,“ he smirks too and saunters closer, „Thank you.“ With that, he draws her closer by the waist and kisses her lips. She sinks into the kiss for just a moment before lightly pushing him off her.
„Now, don’t get handsy, Hook.“
„My apologies, my Captain,“ he puts his hands up in mock surrender, „But I needed some of your lipstick, you see, to finish off the look.“ His eyes shine as he winks at her.
„You could’ve just asked to borrow it.“
„Mmm, but it’s more fun this way, Captain, don’t you think?“
Instead of an answer, she steps closer to him again, and, grabbing him by his shirt, brings him in for another kiss. There’s his answer.
„Good Gods, they’re at it again!“ sounds through the ship and Uma suddenly remembers she didn’t close the door. Well, too late now.
„There’s children around!“ protests Bonny from down the hall with exasperated scandalisation.
„There are none!“
„There are none yet, Captain,“ sing-songs Bonny, „Now, if you two keep at it…,“
„Bonny!“ Uma’s time to be scandalised – this is what her own medic is doing! The audacity! And meanwhile, Harry just laughs, pulling her closer to him yet.
„This ship needs thicker fucking walls,“ she mutters only for him to hear.
He laughs again: „I think our crew would pay a decent treasure for thicker walls, love.“
Too bad they live on a cast-off island, isn’t it? She pouts and crosses her arms and isn‘t all that much surprised when Harry kisses her hair and leads her to his shelf where some jewellery and trinkets lay carelessly scattered. Most of these pieces she has never seen, which means he just got it (stole it) recently – he tends to just give the jewels to her and borrow it later when he’s in the mood for anything other than his usual assembly of rings and earrings.
And really: „Paid a little visit to the Westergaards this morning,“ he says, „Most of their stuff was gaudy, but these looked passable. Anything caught your fancy, darling?“
„Hmm, I don’t know yet,“ she says, picking up a necklace and letting it fall back down in between her fingers, „I think I need to look at these first. Examine it. Go finish getting ready in the meantime.“
„As you command.“
In the end, Uma picks a new ring, a bracelet and a decorative comb that Harry weaves into her hair immediately; sure, they might have left five minutes after the dinner was supposed to start, but their entrance is going to be showstopping.
