i adore these women and their ingenuity and resourcefulness. the land has had little to offer in bounty, and yet they persevere, embracing and celebrating the old cycles of death and rebirth that ruled the ages long ago. they share a connection to the earth itself, founded on methods and teachings that have passed from generation to generation, as far back it would seem as knowledge itself.
they took me in immediately and treated me as one of their own. i was naive to think that my studies and observations into the inner workings of things would be beneficial to them, but their primeval understandings make my insight and experiences seem trivial and fraught. they were gracious not to show it.
the whispers and warnings of what transpires in Dominula are, to my mind, founded on the superstitions and hatred for womanhood that have persisted for eons. thankfully, it does not appear to affect them, as they feel no shame in their way of life.
and yet if there were secrets to be kept, they would be held safely with me.

INKTOBER 22 - Dominula, Windmill Village, Elden Ring
Surrounded by flowers, this area is terrifying.
I don't deny that it was the first thing I said when I first arrived at this place, that it reminded me of the movie Midsommar and the lore of this village is more terrifying.

Sad Sullen Sethys's goth-style school portrait. He's sad and sullen because he has to go to Caelid now. 😕 Also Gideon said he's "just a visitor" to the Roundtable Pizza Hold and Fia keeps asking if she can hold him but he just wants to sit in front of her fireplace and not get rained on, e.g.;

I have reached Dominula, the village of windmills.
There's something off about this place. I don't trust it.

The Dominula celebrants use all of the parts of the people they eat, from thr more obvious things like skin for clothes and skulls and bones for hammers, there's also things like using leg bones as canes for the particularly elderly or teeth and knuckle bones for games for the young ones.
