Drowning Sorrows

Mizuki stumbled her way through the streets of Ishgard until she found herself at the Forgotten knight. She just wanted to be alone. Grabbing a room, Mizuki hung her hat and robes up and set down the several bottles of wine she'd purchased.

Her mind was all over the place. She didn't know what to do. She sat down at the small desk and then she stood up again and paced the room.

The pain in her chest was unbearable. All she could see was Aymeric and that beautiful noble woman. He smiled at her kindly and accepted a letter from her that seemed very important. And most likely personal. Looking at them from afar, they looked a perfect match. Their status would compliment each other too. Most marriages she heard of seemed to be arranged.

This lady trying to vie for Aymeric's affection would be frowned upon if her parents found out but if Aymeric felt the same, no doubt their families would be overjoyed with such a fine gentleman seeking their daughter's hand.

Mizuki cursed herself for such feelings of jealously swirling in her heart. She didn't even know this woman.

I would never be chosen by him..

That sharp twinge in her chest, sparked tears and she reached for the first bottle, popping the cork and pouring a full glass and swiftly drained the entire thing.

"Aymeric is far above my station.." she mumbled, pouring another glass "A well respected knight and a lowly adventurer-" she snorted a laugh "how foolish.." the glass was emptied and refilled. The first bottle lasted not much longer.

She rose to her feet, pouring another glass she moved to sit on the bed.

"and she was so beautiful and elegant.." sourly she sipped another glass "a perfect match for the equally beautiful Lord Commander."

The bitterness in her chest washed to heartache "It's for the best.." she whispered. "What could I offer? Why would I assume he would even think of me as such.." another glass was filled. "Just the means to an end of an age long war..."

The bottles of wine soon vanished. All neatly stacked on the table.

Mizuki reduced to sobbing into her hands. She was aware that romance was not going to be viable in an adventurer's wandering lifestyle and even less so for the Eikon slayer.

"I just...one day I won't come back and to leave someone waiting...to then grieve...with no body to bury.." she shook her head violently "I couldn't...how cruel..how selfish.."

A sudden wave of nausea washed over her and the wine finally made its presence known. Mizuki threw herself to a nearby bucket.

She cried more as she vomited for what felt like an eternity. "I look pathetic-" she heaved again. "Such grace.." she mused bitterly. Once the retching at ceased, Mizuki managed to move to her robes where she had something for calming such stupidity. Switching to a more sensible beverage: water. Mizuki laid on the bed.

"I must apologise to count Edmont..for not returning.." Mizuki yawned and tired sadness took over. Tears stained her cheeks again "I'm such an idiot" she choked out.

"I can't love him...I shouldn't...I need to forget." she sobbed into the pillow.

Drunken tiredness finally caught up with her and dragged Mizuki into a listless slumber.

Predictions for Oshi No Ko Ending

1. Anemone will be the one to find Katayose Yura's dead body.

In Japanese flower symbolism, Anemones or Windflowers represent death, bad luck, and forsaken love. And it just so happens we have a character named exactly that, who happens to be the only other character apart from Katayose Yura who loves being in the mountains.

Anemone will likely be climbing the same mountains on Yura's wishlist, and just like before, The Crow might lead Anemone to the dead body.

It's like Akasaka-sensei decided Spider Lilies are already too obvious a deathflag so he chose a different flower.

I'm taking the bet that Akane might be the person who figures out the connection between Yura and Kamiki, or Miki-san might simply show up on the news as a statement about his "dear friend Yura" who "disappeared".

Akane might also give the head's up to Aqua that she thinks Kamiki murdered Yura, and that would be a reason for the two to spend more time with each other again. (Might shove a wedge between Kana and Aqua again, if Aqua isn't already doing that himself lmao.) Either way, it'd be a convenient way for Akane to attempt to both "save" Aqua and also help him accomplish his goals without killing himself.

2. The person who texted Frill Shiranui is Miki-san.

Sylvanes made a fairly solid guess that Frill Shiranui works for Kamiki Productions. Whether or not he was necessarily correct on this, I'm making the bet that Yura's "best drinking buddy" Miki-san is connected to Frill professionally, and goaded Frill into pushing Ruby into the spotlight.

Some speculators say this might have been Aqua's ploy, but I I think this was incorrect. Aqua agreed with Kaburagi that money comes first and Frill was a more reasonable choice commercially. He even said that Gotanda should "grow up" and not choose Ruby just because of his artistic integrity.

Apart from the friendly, casual tone of the text message that really sounds like the "Miki-san" persona and the image of decanted whiskey as his profile picture, I think Kamiki is actually praying for Ruby's success as a star.

In fact, I think people misunderstood why he killed Katayose Yura. He didn't kill Yura because his serial killer MO was simply because he liked killing up and coming megastars who shone brightly. He killed Yura because:

(a) He hates Stars who lie, who sell a persona to their fans that is vastly different from who they are as people, which is why he hated Himekawa Airi and Hoshino Ai.

(b) He killed Yura because he knew that the project being offered to her was the lead role in The 15-Year Lie. And simply, he wanted Ruby to play Ai's role.

In a twisted way, I think Kamiki believes he is protecting his children, and the public in general, from being lied to any further by celebrities like Yura who deceive the public with their feigned innocence.

Honestly? I think the reason he killed their mothers was to protect them from growing up with mothers who lie and abuse their kids.

3. Kana might play Hoshino Ai in The 15-Year Lie.

Okay, okay, okay, okay. I know. I know. Unhinged fan theory. I get it.

Even AquaKana stans think this is majorly unlikely to happen. I agree in that, I think it's insane. But I keep coming back to what Aqua meant when he said that, "Kana is so easy to manipulate", and "It's more convenient for me to build a good relationship with Arima right now."

People tend to say, he's making silly convoluted excuses again, he just wants to spend more time with her. But I think a man who is resolute in his goal to off himself by proxy of martyrdom doesn't care to date the person he was protecting from a love scandal anyway.

There are a few key reasons why I think Aqua's "using" of Kana will result in her playing Ai's role.

First of all, I think Aqua's plan is to play Kamiki, to portray him in the worst possible way, and expose him as the murderer through the film. Through this, Aqua will bait his father into murdering him too, and thus Aqua's death can be used as legal grounds for charging Hikaru Kamiki with Homicide.

As established above, I think Aqua doesn't agree that Ruby is the best choice for Ai's role. There are a lot of parallelisms baked in between Kana and Ai. Apart from the shot-by-shot remake of Sign is B, Kana is also the best person to get stabbed and deliver the lines, "Some day I hoped the lies would become true. / I did my best. I worked hard. I lied with all my heart. / To me, lies are love. In my own way, I thought I was showing my love."

Besides, you saw anyone else say these same things?

So is Kana gonna get stabbed? Hopefully in a movie, yeah.

I think it could happen as a result of Kaburagi's dissatisfaction with Ruby's performance.

Kaburagi's "finalized" casting isn't final-final yet, really. We can see that he swapped Aqua to play Kamiki instead of Himekawa who will now play Ryosuke the university student/stalker here:

Which makes sense! Aqua looks like his father, is closer to his age during the time of the events, and Taiki's age and height also better matches Ryosuke.

And even though the paper says finalized on Ruby's casting, Kaburagi's still not completely sold:

I think the swap will come as a result of Ruby being severely overworked and unable to keep up with the demands of her role, and the Dome performance that she might want to prioritize. She may even outright collapse from exhaustion, as foreshadowed by Kana:

Apart from Akasaka-sensei absolutely trolling us to death by Ai x Kamiki on-screen romance being portrayed by twins, then just outright pulling the plug on that for fun, I think it'd just make sense for Kaburagi to say it's better if we pair Aqua with Kana for this role.

Ruby doesn't even have to collapse or anything. She's so loved up with the idea of Gorou-sensei right now, Aqua could literally just tell her "this is what's best for the plan, you trust me, don't you?" And she would absolutely just go with it.

I said before that I think up until Mem-cho pointed it out, Aqua was wholly unaware that Kana had a crush on him and joined B-Komachi just because of him. I think now that he has the awareness, he'll ask Kana to do it, first to help Ruby, but also because he can only trust Kana to play this role because she is "Special" to him.

It really is the only way that this scene therefore makes sense to me:

Bonus: if the Shima D masterpiece film doesn't draw Kamiki's attention to her, Kana playing the role of Ai definitely will. And if she delivers the role with so much honesty, it might change the trajectory of the story altogether.

4. Aqua's plan will backfire.

I explained a little above and in a previous post that Aqua misunderstands Kamiki's motives.

While we all like to shit on Aqua for being the World's Nicest Master Manipulator, we have to give him credit for the fact that when it's used for saving other people, he's been really effective at spinning a public narrative in his favor. Like in the cases of Akane's suicide attempt and Kana's Love Scandal.

If the goal is to get Kamiki to stab him in plain view of the public, villify his father, and make it easy to convict him for homicide once and for all, I think he will fail.

Kamiki will not kill him or go after him. In fact, I think Kamiki will shed his Miki-san persona and reveal the truth: he was Himekawa Airi's rape victim, and Hoshino Ai was a manipulative person who seduced him with the prospect of true love, then abandoned him when she got what she wanted, which was a family.

In the absence of any evidence that he had anything to do with their deaths, Kamiki might even use this momentum of propaganda to make the public believe that he's happy to finally be reunited with his children that these terrible mothers took away from him.

Heck, Taiki might hate Uehara so much that he'd be relieved to learn about Kamiki? And if he really is connected to Frill, and if Kindaichi still cares about him, there might be real people who would back him up.

Then, it won't be until Akane works with Aqua and everyone to bring the murder of Katayose Yura to light that Kamiki would actually be brought to justice.

Pop brings out a joyful childishness, and country music makes everyone have an accent for a bit. It might not be the best of magical abilities, but it has definitely come in handy when dealing with the emotionally constipated mess of the NRC school of troublemakers.

Azul: It was complicated at first, and the events of book 3 go very similarly to the little mermaid, he steals your voice and the amazing power it contains that has never been seen or heard of before, he HAD to have it, you understand right? After the overblot incident, he wanted to hear you sing but was ashamed of how selfish he was for stealing it from you. Over time you two become friends and start to date, your songs pulling him like a siren's call to the deep. This man is putty in your hands and would die for you if you asked. At the end of the day, you two harmonize together, singing gentle and calming songs to wind down from the day's usual chaos and antics. When he hears your voice he leaves his work immediately. begged Asked you to sing for the lounge on weekends, it would bring in revenue and help build up your confidence! and he would be able to hear your voice that much more he loves it so much please. Happily basks in whatever music you sing, and shares what he feels for you. Your songs pulled him out of his shell that much more and he loves you so much for it.

Jade: Oya~ was the first to discover your unique ability when he was foraging for mushrooms near ramshackle, you were singing pop music from home and Jade could feel a sort of unnatural giddiness in his heart as he listened. Got some information from the first years about it. He cornered asked you if you would be alright with experimenting on your unique ability with him. At first, it was all business and curiosity about your ability, but as the weeks went by he found himself growing fond of your vocal abilities and how excited you were that you had some form of music. You bring out deeper emotions that Jade is not used to (I headcanon that jade is a sociopath, who doesn't feel emotions much). He starts to do smaller sessions with you and even joins in on your singing, even confessing his love for you through a song you introduced to him. You sing songs of nature and joy as you both hunt and forage in the mountain lovers club. He has hearts in his eyes as you sing and examine a mushroom, took a photo, and has it saved as his wallpaper. supported the idea of you singing in the lounge, he would happily accompany you on the stage if you're shy about it. Come now darling~ won't you sing for him?

Jade's favorite types of songs to hear from you are little jingles (they make him chuckle), love songs, any nature-themed songs, and smooth jazz.

Floyd: Calles you "humpback whale" they are known most often as the singing whale species. He finds it fitting for your nice voice and how it reaches and affects things and people around you. He LOVES to hear you sing and usually tries to sing along with you if he knows the song. Happily listens to you if it's a softer song. Recorded you singing a lullaby from the coral sea, he can't fall asleep without hearing it now. Loves to give you song ideas and will hype you to sing if you're shy about your abilities. He even starts to work on bettering his singing to see if he can have any effect on you like you do so much with him. If anyone dares to say anything negative against your voice you'll never see them again, or at least you won't see them out of a wheelchair. Happily pushes the idea of you singing in the lounge along with jade and Azul, just so he can hear you sing as he works.

#cats #(medical stuff mention for tags) #poasting confortable image of boye for peace and serenity and such forthe #I have little weird episodes sometimes where I get shaky (but like violently like 'would spill a drink if you were holding it beacuse #your hands are moving so much' type shaky) and weird and sick feeling but usually it passes in an hour or less. but last night I just #literally couldnt sleep I was shaking so much and my heartrate was up a ton and wouldn't go down even after like 6 hours plus super nausea #so I went to the hospital and now shall wear a heart monitor for a week. which hopefully it's just some weird drastic low blood sugar #event or something and there's nothing actually going on. ekg + ct scan for blod clots + virus panel + almost all of the blood work seems #normal so... aa....... #Though me being so privacy focused hrggh... I basically have a constantly bluetooth connected device around me #since the monitor comes with a cell phone that is constantly transmitting data to the place. which they said they'll call you #if they see anything weird which is also scary. random phone calls... but definitely better than letting an issue go unadressed lol #the phone is also not meant to be more than 10 feet away from the monitor at any time so I put on this old tactical fishing #vest thing thats like navy green with 100 pockets and im just using one of the giant pocketson the side as a phone holder #my enormous silly vest just to keep one little phone #ANYWAY... because I got up early the morning before and didn't sleep at all and spent nearly all day in waiting rooms and such #I have been awake for like 32 hours striaght. which I'm sure also does not help with an elevated heartrate lol #feeling shrimp emotions or whatever people talk about unlocking at a certain level of stress and sleep deprivation #and also no food or water. after a while they brought me like 3 saltines and some ice water but I basically also haven't eaten since 3am #last night and it's 2pm now.. #thus............ bapy............. baby boye....... he will help ease all ailments with his baby powers... #And no I dont drink energy drinks or anything with caffiene really I'm afraid of all substances on the planet essentially #My body just likes to become shaky and weird randomly even when I'm not conciously anxious about anything/have had no caffiene/etc #and I guess I'm always more nervous about getting anything heart related checked out because of my arm/shoulder/chest area injury stuff #... i literally have constant chest pain all the time. it moves around but i nearly always have some sort of pain or pressure in my chest #so when people are like 'oh well a little weird heartrate is fine but watch out if you have pain!' it's like... i always do lol.. how am I #supposed to tell the Bad Pain apart from the Always Pain when the descriptions of Bad Pain are very very similar #AAAANYway.... hrghh... i wanted to be very productive and finally post drafts and wrok on things today. but alas.. #I can at least post small image of soft boye.. though he recently got into stuff in the bathroom whilst left #alone and knocked things into the toilet.. So perhaps not an innocent and NICE boy.. but still.. a soft one .. beautfile....

#I know this is the drugs and alcohol website esp in filmgirlie circles but its so nice. its really so nice to have that Need for it go away #it will come in waves like god I really want a drink. but it kinda passes by faster than it did before #I have a pretty strong sense of self control I think so its nice this hasnt been a tooth and nail fight #but knowing how many times Ive Tried to stop or cut back before and failed.. it feels good to be here now #I keep thinking abt anthonys post and getting emotional #yeah. I owe it all to being sober. #its like wow.. my life is getting better And Im not drinking anymore. that seemed like an impossibility these past 3-4 years #speaking

I think the reason I have such a hard time writing these days is that emotions are too big to fit into paper. When I was younger, I could write and describe emotions so well, but now the more I can feel them the less I can write them.
