i think in the hamster wheel of my mind a big part of where people go wrong with eddie and his shitty garage band as an extension is that they for some bizarre reason think he's gene simmons metal when he's jack black metal. heavy metal. he's tenacious d metal. he's school of rock. he's stoner lord of the rings metal he nearly wore blue jeans and plaid. jack black literally in real life once said eddie was the best character bc he's heavy metal like him. LOOK AT THIS

"I bet it was the martini that blew your cover."
"You can judge my drinking habits after you got me out of here, Djarin!"
I've seen one (1) James Bond movie my entire life back when 00Q was a whole thing on this hellsite, but I'm ready to die on the hill that Din would make a great Q who knows how to work in the field and can poke at gadgets just fine, but also gets very passive agressive when he has to work overtime - he asked for the office job because his kid is going to school and they are working on building a normal-adjacent nighttime routine, which is very difficult when the agent he's working with cannot stick to a plan.
For the Spies/Assassins square on my Bobadin AU bingo for @bobadinweek
(I've seen all the John Wick movies though, so if Boba's pose is familiar, that is why)

Honestly tempted to make an AU where Carmine gets isekiad while protecting Kieran in the terapagos fight.
I like the idea of Carmine wondering around in another region with no memories, but being driven by this feeling that she lost something really important to her.
Meanwhile Kieran's back in Blueberry academy, having to deal with the fact that he fucked up big time as he searches for his sister. He starts to withdraw from the other students as he becomes obsessed searching to an unhealthy degree.
The rest of the elite four try to help Kieran find her but there's a bit of tension in the group. At the end of the day they're all just kids and this situation is just too much for them. They all begin to relay on Drayton more but this situation is a bit above him. He understands Kieran didn't mean for this to happen but part of him is still a bit resentful towards him.
Juliana is doing her best to keep the group together. She takes frequent (not so legal) trips to Area Zero to look for clues to Carmines location. She calls Kieran out for his unhealthy habits (not sleeping or eating) and does her best to help him through it.
One day, a certain train conductor turns up to the academy to investigate some rumours he heard about a students disappearance.
Also for extra angst, the first thing Carmine remembers is the name 'Kiki'. She can't put a face to the name but she just knows she feels protective over them and they're very important to her. She feels this desperate need to get back to Kiki to make sure they're ok.
However, as time goes on, Carmine starts to remember Kieran. But she doesn't remember him as her brother, she remembers him as the cold, distant champion he became. She doesn't associate him with 'Kiki' because they don't feel the same to her.

sorry sorry last time I'm talking about huskerdust tonight but does it fuck anyone else up knowing that Husk and Angel basically lived at the same time but were on opposite sides of the country. But also Husk went traveling. Like these two could have met while they were alive and wouldn't even know it. They didn't even know the other existed until they met at the hotel
Like I have. so many thoughts about this.

Alan Wake (whose face and voice we find on Thomas Zane and Casper Darling, respectively) ends up in an antagonistic relationship with Alex Casey (whose face and voice we find on Sam Lake and Zachariah Trench, respectively).
Casper Darling and Zachariah Trench? By the end, their relationship was antagonistic.
The Casey-Trench voice was once a guide-friend for Wake-Darling.
And then, they were fighting.
One was suspicious of the other, thinking he was lying, hiding something.
While the other was unaware of the darkness that was growing and consuming the former's mind, his ignorance letting it fester. Feeding it, even.
The original faces, Thomas Zane and Sam Lake? In this latest iteration they've spoken with their own voices while in the Dark Place, only in the presence of a camera.
Alan Wake and Zachariah Trench? In the end, while in a nightmare dimension, both get shot by a woman who both of these men meddled in their lives, threatening the well being of their loved one.
At least one had a hand in his fate, willing it, accepting it. The other? He was fully gone, his will overtaken by the nightmare.
A version of Alex Casey did say it after all. He and writer, they were the same.
And finally, the real Sam Lake? By happenstance he offered his face for a collaborative project, and became a symbol. Even if he tried to fight it, tried to replace it, he had to concede. The story demanded it, as if writing it wasn't enough, the narrative claimed his visage.
There's no need to make overt mentions or put the image of the Ouroboros in posters. The serpent is interwoven in the fabric of the narrative itself.

Obsessed with the fact that while Hoody does wield a gun at a point in the series, his actual main weapons are a fuckin’ lead pipe and his fists. He may operate behind the scenes through most of the series but the second he doesn’t have Masky/Tim to fight for him, he’s not hesitating to beat the shit out of someone.
He full on WACKS Alex with no hesitation and drops him like a stone in Entry 67. He beats the shit out of Alex in the tunnel in Entry 76. He throws some punches at Tim during their fight in Entry 83.
Hoody seems so cold and calculating for most of his TTA Videos and appearances, but put him in any situation where he’s forced to make split decisions and he does not take long to choose violence.

You know, I would love it if we could see Mihawk just. Get slightly fucked up by someone, have his sword stolen and watch him figure out how to fight with some random ass sword instead
I just think. It'd be neat.
Like we kinda know how The World's Greatest Swordsman fights with his itty bitty knife, we know what kind of damage he can do with his iconic Yoru
I just think it'd be fun to see him fight with a regular katana and try to get his stolen sword back or summin' IDK

Has anyone ever talked about the Gwen Stacy neck snap parallels yet?
I saw these scenes play out and I can't stop thinking about that trumatizing neck snap from like, about 10-ish years ago.
Like, the first screenshot (excuse the fact that they look horrible, I just screenshoted it from youtube) Miles caught Gwen after he accidentally distracted her, as any normal spider person would, and the way he caught her looks like the infamous Gwen Stacy scene. But if you look at Gwen, she's just hanging there.
It matches their storylines pretty well too. It shows how Gwen is just kinda resigned to the "Spiderman Canon," not really fighting or questioning it, and just going with it, while Miles is still swinging, trying to carry Gwen away from the "Canon" narrative.
He's still swinging because he hasn't fallen yet, he doesn't know about the Canon Events like Gwen does. He's not resigned to the "Canon" like Gwen does. Miles looks forward to what could be while still checking back so that Gwen doesn't get left behind or fall into oblivion.
The next time we saw it, it's the reverse (they really said let's take turns having the Gwen Stacy tragedy didn't they). It's Miles being caught this time and Gwen the one doing the catching.
Gwen looks torn. She wants to help him, but she's also following a "Canon." She's not swinging like Miles is, she's hanging on a thread that she doesn't want to let go. She doesn't know what she should do, and looks down.
While Miles, instead of just hanging there, snaps the web, signaling to her that no, he refuses to conform to the "Canon" if he can still look up and do something about it, and continued on with the chase. He won't sit still and resign himself to a tragedy that he could prevent now that he knows about it.

At this point Wednesday and Thursday are the highlights of my week like I’m vibrating with excitement when I know Wednesday at like 7 something I’ll be sitting down to giggle at my favorite show like I- 🤧
I don’t always watch d20 seasons as they’re airing but for fantasy high, it gets so woven into my schedule when a new one drops 👏 like not to get super sentimental (I’m absolutely going to in a read more. Plus the season is ending soon and I’m emo about it but also just excited in general to get all the answers) but this season really means a lot to me. Absolutely none of them will see this (thank god) but the intrepid heroes & BLeeM mean so much to me. They made a show that is so funny and beautiful and kind and so stupid at its core and it just goes to show how lovely they are. The impact they’ve made on the actual play community is so huge. For me a lot of actual play was very intimidating to get into because of huge backlogs or the kinds of stories being told weren’t for me but goddamn, d20 just hits on so many levels. In part due to the storytelling and also just holy shit everyone at the table shows up and cares so much about who they’re playing and their place in the world and the story they’re helping be told. It’s just 🤧💖 I hope one day I’m half the dnd player that Brennan, Emily, Lou, Murph, Siobhan, Zac, and Ally are. They truly inspire me so much.

**TW For SA, trauma, mental health + personal shit etc under the cut**
I stopped watching d20 for a long while. Give or take a year or two? I know it was around the zoom season era. Me and A guy I was really close friends with bonded over dnd and d20 and it was one of the main things we had in common. The night he SA’d me we were watching FH S1 from the beginning. And I think that kinda.. like I didn’t watch d20 because it brought up a lot of thoughts of him and that night and just so much ptsd.
D20 was my favorite form of escapism during hard times and it really sucked to lose that for so long. When d20 Junior year was announced I decided it was time to get back into the show because I missed it and I loved it and I couldn’t let him make me so scared that I never went back to what gave me so much joy. I introduced the show to him in the first place, I could reclaim.
I watched freshman year after I dropped out of art school because my parents and I couldn’t afford another loan and I was really lost. It took my mind off a lot of it thankfully.
Sophomore year aired when I started going to community college. I had a night-time psych class that would end about half an hour before the streams would start so it gave me motivation to get through it because I had something to look forward to after. Now junior year is airing while I’m dealing with a lot of health stuff + depression + job stress (now that I write it all out, both college stresses passed and I did end up getting a decent-ish, albeit very shitty job in graphic design, so I know there’s light at the end of the tunnel so to speak, this’ll pass)
I don’t know if they’ll ever do a senior year/graduation season but if they do, I’ll be there still excited and brimming with joy and anticipation for more d20 Wednesdays to come. 💖
