Do you know any cookie cutter shark facts or lantern shark facts
Etmopterus perryi or Dwarf Lantern Sharks
Dwarf Lantern Sharks are so cute! They grow to be a maximum of 20 cm (7.9 in) and live in the Bathypelagic zone at depths of 1,000 - 3,000 m (3,300 – 9,800 ft). This zone is also known as the midnight zone because there is no light. This is why this shark has really large eyes comparative to its body size! This shark, like some other deep-sea sharks, can glow! They have organs known as photophores on its underside, used as camouflage and to attract prey.
These sharks are rarely seen, so there's still a lot we don't know about them!
Thanks for the ask; a post about cookie cutter sharks will be up soon, and I'll link it here!

Happy Shark Awareness Day!!
In celebration of the best holiday to exist, I'm gonna share some of my favorite shark facts!! (I have a lot of favorite shark facts.)
Sharks have no bones!! None! Nada! The only bones they have are their teeth. But Mal, what happened to their bones?? Idk buddy, we probably stole 'em or something.
Lemon sharks love getting pets and will even have favorite divers they seek out to get attention! If they see their diver giving attention to another shark, they can get jealous and try to chase the other shark away.
The largest Great White shark ever recorded is a female named Deep Blue! She is over 20ft long and weighs an estimated 2.5 tons!!
Sharks have been around for almost 455 million years!! That's why most of them are grumpy. They're just old :/
The smallest species of shark is smaller than the human hand. (Psst, it's the dwarf lantern shark.)
Sharks!! Can have!! Personalities!! Just like humans!! Some are confident and social, while others can be shy and cautious. There have been some sharks even found having anxiety!
Although sharks having AMAZING eye sight, scientists belive that sharks are mostly colorblind.
Sharks are continually shedding their teeth! Some sharks will shed over 20000 teeth in their lifetime!
Hammerhead sharks have binocular vision l, which means they can see 360 degrees!!
Humans don't taste good to sharks. I'm serious!! We really don't taste good to them. That's why most sharks just bite us and let go. We're nasty. (I wouldn't wanna eat us either)
Sharks are really, really cool creatures that don't deserve all the hate they get.
We depend on sharks to keep our oceans alive and healthy.
There are over 400 species of sharks. 75% of them are threatened with extinction.
But you can help!! Tell friends and family how awesome sharks are, and avoid buying products made with sharks.
You can advocate for the protection of sharks by signing petitions and calling your government officials and saying, "hey!! I'm a voter and I want sharks to be protected!"
Happy shark awareness day <3

🦈 Daily Shark Fact: 🦈
Dwarf Lantern Sharks are the smallest shark in the world, reaching a maximum known length of 8 in. They have photophores, or organs which produce light, along their lower bodies. They use that light much like how an anglerfish does, drawing prey to it for them to feed on. They share this ability with their cousins, like the Kitefin shark.

Uncharismatic Fact of the Day
Can I offer you a dwarf lanternshark in this trying time? This species of shark is the smallest in the world, at only 20 cm (8 in) long, and is found at depths of 283–439 m (928–1,440 ft). The dwarf lanternshark gets its name for its ability to produce light from a series of f light-producing photophores along its back, which may help it to attract prey or disorient predators.

If you send me proof that you’ve made a donation to UNRWA or another organization benefiting Palestinians, I’ll make art of any animal of your choosing.

Bull sharks! they're the most aggresive towards humans along with great whites and tiger shark
Shortfin makos!!!
This is more subjective and i'd say goblin sharks, frilled sharks and cookie cutter are probably some of the weirdest ones. Honorable mention: the helicoprion (extinct friend but he was so strange <33)
Okay so the shark that can grow the oldest is the greenland shark, they can reach more than 400 years old
The oldest *species* is the frilled shark! Along with the rest of the hexanchiformes order (this are sixgill and sevengill sharks)
Dwarf lantern shark! he's just a leetol guy
Whale shark! it's also the biggest fish in general followed by the basking shark
Greenland sharks, they're just vibing in the water
Subjective again, small sharks definetly get to me. Spotted catsharks, zebra pups, and nurse sharks too
In general people will probably say goblin? I think they're really weird and that's the thing i like the most about creatures so <3
