Donatello doesn't NEED to wear glasses. He just wears them to protect his eyes while doing hi-tech engineering stuff.

I’m— yeah. I’m in love already, guys!! The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were the very first superheroes I was introduced to! Seeing them on the big screen for my second time, this August… it’s gonna be lovely.
TURTLE FEVER IS BACK, BAY-BEE!!

It’s weird reading the Eastman and Laird collections and seeing just how far back they were thinking about The Last Ronin. Like I know that’s not a secret or anything. That was one of the main selling points of the series obviously. But seeing uses of imagery we now see as *distinctly* Last Ronin being toyed with in the 80s, and reading the commentary talking about “the last arc that we planned but never got to” kinda makes Last Ronin hit that much harder.

I love how insistent Peter Laird is that when they aren't doing ninja stuff, the teenage mutant ninja turtles shouldn't be wearing their masks. I love that no matter how silly the concept is, he cares about the details. Also, the Eastman and Laird TMNT look adorable in casual clothes without masks, just chilling in the kitchen, or rifling through back-issues in a Northampton comic shop. A+

One aspect of science fiction that has fallen out of practice is the concept that what substances are safe for humans to eat, might be toxic to extra terrestrials.
Such as in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, where according to the story, "Wrong Turn" cranberry juice has the same effect on Utroms as booze has on humans.
This would be interesting factoid, made even more interesting by the Utrom in question, Glurin, having drunk quite a bit of juice before testing a dimensional portal on Raphael, Donatello, and Casey Jones.
