Based on the gifs I can honestly say I have no clue whether or not the episode had a happy ending- but it looks like the gay boys were exceedingly gay for eachother and y'all got whump content? That's good!
But seriously, congrats for surviving one of your "big episodes", now get yourself a warm drink and some cookies (you deserve it!! :D)
alajssksjshshshhs again this is so sweet thank you so much!
Honestly? We got such good ass content with these two gay firefighters even with one of the starting a relationship with a woman. Like it's unreal. First, like you said, we got the perfect amount of whump, Buck literally quickly crawling under a firetruck and GRABBING Eddie (who got shot) with one hand and then dragging him back under the fire truck to safety. AND THEN when they're on their way to the hospital we get Buck ripping Eddie's shirt open and keeps telling him to stay with him and then Eddie wakes just a little and sees blood on Buck's face (it's Eddie's btw) he immediately asks if Buck is okay. Like the man is half-concious, just for shot and bleeding out, and yet his first concern is if Buck's okay. Like??
AND THAT'S JUST THE BEGINNING
The rest of the episode we get Buck being the good coparent that he is and has to tell Eddie's son, Christopher, about what happened. And then when he gets the text that says that Eddie will be okay and tells Chris, THIS MAN FREAKING SOBS IN FRONT OF HIM bc he can't hold it in any longer and then Chris comforts HIM. Like how sometimes kids comforts their parents when something happens to their other parent. And then we see Buck taking care of Christopher.
Meanwhile Buck is not dealing with what happened to Eddie well like AT ALL and practically wants to be the next target of the sniper that shot Eddie if it meant keeping his firefam (who are his family in all the ways) safe bc he feels guilty.
Which leads me to Eddie waking up and thanking Buck for taking care of Chris. Buck basically tells him that it should've been Buck who got shot rather than Eddie (who btw looks SO offended I can't even).
AND THEN AND THEN later Buck is the one to take Eddie home and when they're ready to leave, Eddie brings that up again and tells him that when he almost died last year (all these characters get hurt so much I can't even) it made him think of what would happen to Christopher if he died and so he changed his will to make Buck Chris' guardian. And Buck had no idea lol. And then when Buck asks him why, Eddie tells him "Because, Evan, you think you're expendable but you're not."
So yeah we were FED. Eddie is okay and we got great whump, Buck was going out of his freaking mind and broke down in front of a child (which he never does). Buck is now Eddie's son's guardian if anything were to happen to him and he was already acting like it this ep anyways. And it continues with the theme of Eddie not trusting anyone else in the world with his son than him (something Eddie LITERALLY told him back in the beginning of s3). So yeah, even when Buck got a freaking new gf, these two could NOT be more gay for each other. Like stop being so damn loud you two.
And with the other angst, the couple who are like THE couple of the show had a terrible, angsty fight last ep but not only did they talk their issues through (communication is key ppl) BUT Athena also went to go save Bobby and LITERALLY walked through fire for him (I like to point out that she is not inf act a firefighter).
And Maddie who was starting to deal with postpardon depresion last ep asked SO (Chimney) for help and he was 100% supportive so she's gonna get the help he needs.
Oh and my two married lesbian queens (Hen and Karen) who earlier this season had to deal with giving their foster daughter back to her mother were able accidentally reunite with her and ended up having a picnic together.
In conclusion: this episode did what this show does best. It dealt with everyone dealing with hard things but then having an inspiring ending that makes the viewer both cry AND feel hopeful. So yeah it had a happy ending and we were able to survive without not feeling too much of wanting to throw things at the TV (this ep is literally called "Survivors" too )
Anyways, I did not mean to recap everything and you really didn't need to know all of that I just had to get my emotions out lol. But again, thank you so much for congratulating me on surviving this episode. They really put us through the ringer these past two eps I swear.
Thank you!!!

tokumusume’s list of best and worst movies and dramas watched in 2019:
Tumblr media
There’s a new category this year. Inspired by kpopalypse, welcome the Honorable Mentions! Movies that weren’t exactly bad but also weren’t good. Movies and dramas are qualified to enter if I watched them for the first time this year, not that they were released this year. Click on ‘keep reading’~~
Best Movies:
1.      Parasite
Another masterpiece from the director of Snowpiercer (let’s pretend Okja never existed). A poor family con their way to a rich household. Choi Woo-Shik from The Witch (see below) is the eldest son and mastermind, fabulous as always. Definitely the best movie of this year. For me, movie of the decade.
2.      The Witch Part 1 The Subversion
This movie is amazing, hard to describe without spoilers. A perfect mix of Stranger Things and Hanna. Choi Woo-Shik can come to my house and kick my ass anytime. I can’t wait for part two.
3.      Death Trance
Visually stunning, kinda like Amemiya Keita’s style in early Garo or Mad Max. I wish the movie was longer and the characters were better fleshed out, Ryuen the monk and the little girl had so much potential... The most interesting thing about this movie is how sexualized the main male character is compared to the female ones, and apparently, the swords were designed to look like veiny penises (can’t find a source for this info), and yes, they do look like veiny penises. The final showdown is heavy with sexual energy. Have I already said that Ryuen deserved better? #RyuenRights
4.      Gintama 2: Rules are made to be broken
The barber shop scene is a fucking cinematic masterpiece. I never laughed so much like I did with this movie. The way it doesn’t take itself seriously, the meta jokes, everything is perfect. Even better than the first one.
5.      Kingdom
While I think that some fight scenes were way too long (like the bamboo forest one), the dynamics between Shin and Hyou/Eisei were highly entertaining, at least in my shipper eyes. I like that (SPOILER) the King of the Mountain People is a woman and not once they try to call her Queen. She is a King. Hashimoto Kanna is adorable as a Ten, Kanata Hongo does a great job as Eisei’s psycho brother, Sakaguchi Tak waves his sword around, the usual stuff but with added layers of dirt and sweat.
6.      Bravestorm
A movie I lovingly call “Japanese Pacific Rim”. Full of Kamen Rider stars (Hino Eiji! Misuzawa Haruka! That girl from Heisei Generations, the one with a sword! She has a sword in this as well!) and giant robots (god, I love giant robots!), I waited so much for this movie and it exceeded my expectations. I just wish I could’ve watched in theaters, it had a limited showing in my country.
7.      Twelve Suicidal Children
What begins as a murder mystery ends with a twist you won’t see coming. All of the actors are amazing, but special mention to Sugisaki Hana and that guy from that one boy group I forgot the name but can’t be bothered to Google.
8.      Gakkou Gurashi
Four girls and their teacher try to survive the zombie apocalypse trapped inside the school. This one destroyed me for days.
9.      Forest of Love
I’ve watched some Sono Sion movies but nothing prepared me for this. Be aware of extremely gory sequences and sensitive topics. Hinami Kyoko is so amazing as blue-haired, punk girl crush Taeko that I totally didn’t notice she was AkibaBlue in Akibaranger.
10.  The Host
After watching Parasite I decided to go on a Bong Joon Ho binge and watched this horror movie. Not as good as Snowpiercer and Parasite in my opinion but heart-wrenching nevertheless. The little girl is the star of the movie.
11.  The Hungry Lion
A story about the dangers of social media and slut-shaming. I want to punch Mizuishi Atom in the face.
12.  Cromartie High
A little absurd comedy about yakuza-style high school boys (played by middle-aged men lol) forming a club to battle aliens summoned by themselves just because. It made me laugh like a child. A hidden gem.
Honorable Mentions:
1.      River’s Edge
Depressing as fuck. Warning: the cats die. It’s not graphic but it’s traumatizing. Yoshizawa Ryo is a gay boy who sleeps with old men for money. There’s a graphic sex scene (not Yoshizawa, sadly) where my only thought was “That thing is gonna get stuck in there! Use a condom!” Can’t remember much from it except for these three scenes.
2.      The Disastrous Life of Saiki K
Yamazaki Kento has the acting chops of a dead fish but it comes handy for playing a teen with psychic abilities and zero social skills. Hashimoto Kanna is one of the prettiest girls in Japan. Yoshizawa Ryo with white and blueish hair looks more like Sakata Gintoki than Oguri Shun in the Gintama live action. The end is a huge let down but the fun ride is worth it.
3.      Ano ko no, Toriko
Congratulations to Yoshizawa Ryo, he has FIVE movies in my list of favorite movies this year! This is to make up for crowning GIVER as the biggest waste of time of 2018, this list is totally not biased, lol. “Ano ko” could be just another romance movie but the (very) little insight into how the entertainment industry works and not focusing on school life made me love it. Poor Sugino Yosuke being left behind again, when will this boy get the main girl?
4.      Monstrum
It doesn’t reinvent the wheel but it’s pleasant enough to fill a rainy afternoon with a lot of blood and spilled guts. Hyeri of Girl’s Day is the heroine and Choi Woo Shik is the commander she falls in love with.
5.      Weirdo Go
I confess I watched this one just to see Ji Li (aka my snake son Nie Huaisang) dressed as a woman but it was enjoyable and not that problematic.
6.      Real - Kanzen Naru Kubinagaryu no Hi
Directed by the same guy that did “Creepy” and “Before we vanish”, there are lots of twists you won’t see coming. And a dinosaur. A fucking dinosaur.
7.      Tomodachi Game: The Final
The movie loses its focus halfway through then picks up again minutes before ending. Yoshizawa Ryo delivers again as the sadistic Yuuichi, much like his role in Gintama. The plot twists are the star of the movie.
8.     The Living Dead
Sorry Wen Ning. I saw the plot twist coming in the first 30 minutes of the movie, not very smart of the writer. His personality did a 180° turn for worse and I’ll demote the movie to an honorable mention for it. Gao Han is cute though, I would like to see him as a better character.
9.      Backstreet Girls
Some recycled scenes from the drama to situate the viewers, a completely new story for the movie, it is certainly funny and enjoyable, if you can get past the forced gender reassignment surgery background and transphobic jokes (you shouldn’t get past it btw). I like the soundtrack.
Best Dramas:
1.      The Untamed
Do I need to say more?
2.      The Tale of Nokdu
This Korean romance had everything to be a mess but it wasn’t!!! *claps* I don’t hate the main female character and the whole palace politics actually kept me interested until the end. The complete shift of atmosphere mid-season was strange at first but ultimately very welcomed.
3.      The Naked Director
Netflix original Japanese content is amazing. This one is a look at the life of a legendary porn director in the late 80s, I learned a lot about the history of Japanese porn and censorship (yay pixels!) and went looking for his, erm, works. Very graphic, 69/10 don’t recommend watching with people in the house.
4.      Channel wa Sonomama!
I don’t remember it well but it’s about a news station and what is like to be a journalist and it was very interesting and funny.
5.      SCAMS
Forgettable. Sugino Yosuke with black hair cons old people via phone calls.
Worst Movies and Dramas:
1.      The cat in their arms
The cats spend 90% of the movie in human forms, and halfway through it they simply abandon the cats’ plot to show a fucking long montage of a weird guy painting a picture of a nude girl. It’s also super creepy to see a grown-up man acting like a cat, getting belly rubs and eating cat food from a bowl. Yoshizawa needs to choose his roles more wisely.
2.      Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun
A waste of Suda Masaki’s talent. Can Japan stop casting Tsuchiya Tao already?
3.      Samurai Marathon
Almost two hours of dirty men running through a forest. Maybe Japanese History experts will enjoy it, because I certainly didn’t.
4.      Lady Vengeance
While there are legit great moments, I didn’t find this “classic” to be anything special. The animal cruelty was too much for me.
5.      Hot Gimmick
This movie makes Bohemian Rhapsody’s editing look like a work of art. There are more flashing cuts than a T-ARA music video. I have no idea who likes who, who’s banging who, what even are they saying. Too much poetic shit for my like. I wanted to see Shimizu Hiroya naked. I was bamboozled.
6.      The Divine Fury
While some parts were interesting, at the end I still don’t know if the protagonist is possessed by a demon (if yes, then why would he help a priest destroy his friends?) or if he was blessed by God when his father died and talked to him (the glowing hand thing, why and how??). The exorcism parts are really, really scary, or maybe I’m just a chicken, but I had to avert my eyes. The best (only) part is that the protagonists are hot. Hello Woo Do-Hwan, you can sacrifice me to Satan any time…

.Tapes
When Stan starts his second year of college, he instantly hates his new roommate. But will Richie be able to win him over with his cassette tape obsession? Secret Santa for @sadlysaraofthelosers ! Sorry its late honey, merry christmas! @itfandomprompts
Also a massive thank you to @midnightmillie for helping me to edit!
Read on AO3 here!  ///  Fanfic playlist here!
When Stan had collected his key from the front desk, he’d been prepared for having an unbearable roommate. He didn’t expect them to be friends, necessarily, but in the worst-case scenario he thought that maybe they’d be able to ignore each other. At least long enough to get through the year in one piece. But later, standing in the doorway of what should have been his dorm room, Stan realised how naïve he’d been.
He dropped his bags into the only patch of clear floor space he could see and sighed, wading through the piles of debris to what he thought could be his bed. If there was one thing he couldn’t stand, it was mess. Stan could already imagine how terrible the next year would be if he stayed here. In fact, he didn’t know why he hadn’t applied for a transfer already – surely, he should phone the accommodation liaison while his mysterious roommate was out somewhere else.
He looked across to the messiest side of the room. He wouldn’t be able to transfer without a good reason, he knew from experience, but maybe there was something here that he could use as evidence that they didn’t get along – maybe an anti-gay poster, or a political t-shirt – just something that would prove a ‘clash in values.’
Stan snorted. As though a lack of basic cleanliness wasn’t a big enough thing to clash over.
After making his way to his roommate’s desk, he bent down, to have a look, hand on his knees. When there was nothing incriminating on the top – just a collection of candy wrappers and packets – he pulled out one of the boxes that had been stashed away underneath and opened the lid.
Inside were rows of cassette tapes, some of them of bands Stan didn’t even know you could get on cassette; The Cure, Led Zeppelin, The Ramones, even one called Wolf Alice, a group that Stan was pretty sure had started making music long after tapes had become obsolete. In the next box he found more of the same.
One thing was for sure, his roommate was not only messy but also a complete weirdo. Who would take the effort to transfer music from a CD onto a cassette tape, if they’re not weird?
Suddenly, he felt guilty. His mind was taken back to his school days, when he used to be called a freak for wearing a kippah or for getting stressed out when there was an uneven number of pens in his pocket. Maybe he was being a bit too harsh. It was unlikely, but maybe Stan just had the wrong end of the stick. He hadn’t even seen the guy yet, after all, and what if he was actually alright to talk to?
Stan sighed, swiping his arm across his mattress to brush piles of his roommate’s underwear, comics and pencils to the floor, and began the process of moving in. He’d give it a week. Just a week, he told himself, and if it was absolutely insufferable, he would see about changing rooms.
But it was going to be a long week.
***
“Who the fuck does work on the first day of college?”
Stan rolled his eyes and didn’t reply, focusing on the blinking cursor on his laptop screen. He was quite glad that he already had an assignment, actually, because it gave him a brilliant excuse to ignore his boisterous roommate.
Their first meeting had been awkward at best, his roommate – who had later introduced himself as Richie – barging in to find Stan meticulously dusting his side of the room. He had beamed and ran over, sticking a hand out to be shaken and babbling at decibel levels that could only be described as inhuman. Stan had just ignored him until he went away.
Obviously, Richie was unperturbed, as he was still trying to start a conversation, looking over Stan’s shoulder and asking endless questions (“What does ‘demographic’ mean?”) about his work for Introduction to Business.
He tuned him out, instead focussing on the music coming from the cassette player – ‘Simple Season’ by Hippo Campus – which was actually just calm enough to help him relax.
Richie leaned once more over his shoulder, pointing at the screen. “Wait... there. You’ve written ‘scold’ instead of ‘sold’. Spellcheck won’t pick up on that since it’s a real word.”
“Oh yeah, thanks.” Stan cursed internally as he looked up to where his roommate was pointing. “Don’t you have any work to do?”
Richie smiled infuriatingly and reclined back onto his own bed. “Nope!” He popped the ‘p’. “I don’t have to do anything but relax my fingers, babe.”
“Your fingers?” Stan turned away from his laptop, fighting the blush that threatened to come upon hearing the pet name.
“Oh yeah, I play guitar, didn’t you know?”
Stan shook his head.
“Damn! Well, if you’re a good boy I’ll play for you sometime, I guess.”
“I’ll pass,” he sighed, but Richie ignored him in favour of whistling to the music. After a minute, Stan realised he’d been tapping his own fingers to the beat.
***
Richie was already gone when Stan had woken up on Tuesday, and for some reason he couldn’t help but feel disappointed. That was stupid, of course – seeing Richie was the last thing he wanted. Or at least that’s what he told himself. He got dressed and left with minimal fuss, which last year he would have loved, but now felt was profoundly wrong.
He was sitting in the back row of a lecture theatre, eyes drooping with fatigue and the collar of his shirt digging into his neck, wanting nothing more than to go back to his room and sleep. He had spent most of the night awake, stressing about the paper he had to finish, and about how little he actually wanted to write it. He was confident that he could get a good grade – but God it was so boring.
He slouched down in his seat, far enough that Mr. Sampson couldn’t see him, and laid his head back on the wooden chair back. He closed his eyes and blocked the lecturer’s voice out. He just hoped he didn’t start snoring.
Shoulders loosening, he started to relax as the voices around him became a low monotonous buzz. Perfect bliss. He sighed happily, feeling himself begin to drift off.
The door banged open, shocking him awake and back into an upright position. “Oh sorry!” yelled a very familiar voice over the blasting of a handheld speaker. “Wrong room!”
Everyone turned to stare at Richie, who had begun to leave the room again, exiting to the very apt tune of ‘Talk too Much’ by COIN. Mr Sampson sighed.
“Alright, class dismissed. Go home and get on with your essays while I go and track down Mr. Tozier.”
Stan closed his eyes again in victory, then reached down and hurriedly stuffed his books back into his bag. For once, thank fuck for Richie!
With a newfound spurt of energy, he pulled himself to his feet and forced himself through the crowd that was congregating on the stairs. He pushed the door open with both of his hands – free at last! – and forced himself out into the bright sunlight, taking in a gulp of fresh air and taking off in the direction of the dormitories.
When he hurried past the place where Mr. Sampson was laying into an innocent-faced Richie, he could’ve sworn he saw his roommate wink.
***
With Wednesday came heavy snowfall, and with snowfall came news of lesson cancellations after lesson cancellations. Stan laid on his bed, chin resting on his hand and legs in the air, crossed at the ankle. Richie was sitting cross legged on top of his own duvet. They both stared out the window.
“Do you ever feel sorry for the animals, when it’s like this?” Richie asked.
“I don’t really like to think about it.”
“Well nobody likes to, but I can’t seem to help it sometimes.”
Stan tore his eyes away from the snowy scene in front of him and turned his head to look at Richie. Their eyes met. “Yeah, I get that. I wonder where all of the campus rabbits go when it’s this cold. And how the birds cope with their nests being frozen over.”
“I suppose they’re probably fine,” he replied, shrugging and scratching his face absentmindedly. “I mean, they’ve lived through winters before, right?”
“Yeah, you’re right. What’s got you so concerned about animals all of a sudden?”
“Why, am I not allowed?”
Stan frowned, then shrugged. “Sure, you are, I just didn’t recon you would.”
“We’ve only known each other a few days,” Richie pouted, “I think it's fair to say you don’t know everything about me. I love animals, dude.”
Stan smiled, thinking back to the previous winter spent on his ex-boyfriend Mike’s family farm. “I love them too. Have you ever had to brush snow out of a sheep’s wool? It’s so weird, because on the top it's so cold and wet, but at the same time it’s warm and soft underneath.”
“That sounds nice.”
“Yeah! Not that they’re probably supposed to play outside in it anyway, but it seems impossible to keep them all inside for the whole winter.”
“I can imagine. I used to have a friend that lived on a sheep farm. Haven’t talked to him in a while, actually – maybe I should ask him if I can go and feel some moist wool.” Richie stuck out his tongue. “I wonder what he’d say to that.”
Stan laughed. “Probably nothing good if you phrased it like that. Perhaps I should give Mike a ring, see if we can go visit?”
“Wait,” Richie said, now giving Stan his full attention, “do you mean Mike Hanlon? THE Mike Hanlon? Who I used to go to school with?”
“Well if you went to Derry North, yeah, I suppose you must’ve done." His brow furrowed slightly. “That’s so weird, what a coincidence! I didn’t ever expect to find someone from Derry all the way out here.”
“Why didn’t I see you around school too, then?”
Stan shook his head. “I didn’t go there, I met Mike when we were little, at Boy Scouts.”
“Wait, I remember now – didn’t you two date for a while? He talked about you quite a bit.”
“Yeah, and what about it?” Stan bristled. “You have a problem with that?”
Richie’s eyes widened in surprise. “No, of course not! I was just saying.”
“Oh. Well, good. My past roommates usually tried to switch rooms when they found out I was gay, as if I was going to start spying on them in the shower or something. Which I don’t, by the way.” Stan began to relax again, and laid back down to look at the snow out of the window.
“Shame that. I’ve got a cracking bod. You’d be falling over yourself to ask me out.”
“Richie!”
***
Stan’s breath misted in front of him, yellowed slightly by the artificial light coming through the window. One earbud rested in his ear. He was sat on the low wall just outside of the dormitories, red nose poking out over his tightly wound green scarf.
“What are you doing out here, stranger?”
He turned to see Richie standing in the doorway, hands jammed in his pockets and coat unzipped.
Stan smiled. “I could ask you the same thing.”
“Couldn’t sleep.” Coming to sit down next to him, Richie’s teeth began to chatter.
“Yeah, me neither,” Stan admitted, then tutted; “you’re going to catch your death out here like that.” He reached over and grabbed the zipper on Richie’s jacket, pulling it up to his chin and then pulling up his hood, trying to cover his ears despite his unruly hair getting in the way.
Richie laughed quietly and leaned forward until his forehead was resting on Stan’s shoulder. “You’re like my little husband.”
“Yeah right, I hated you at the start of the week,” Stan protested. Nevertheless, a hand snaked around under Richie’s hood to play with his hair. “You’re a menace.”
Richie nodded. “That I am. But I’m irresistible. Don’t feel too bad about it, everyone gets sucked in eventually. It’s just my miasma.”
“Your miasma?” Stan raised an unseen eyebrow.
“Oh, shut up, you know what I mean,” Richie replied with a smile that was lost in Stan’s shoulder. “Anyway, what are you listening to?” He reached around to grab the earbud that was dangling on Stan’s chest and put it into his ear, then sat up and laughed.
“What! It’s my favourite song!” Stan playfully slapped the back of Richie’s head.
Richie looked at him incredulously. “This? This is your favourite song? Are you being serious?”
“Hey, what’s wrong with Mr Brightside?”
“Nothing, nothing. It’s a good song! I just didn’t expect anyone to call it their favourite. It’s like Bohemian Rhapsody, everyone loves it when it comes on but no one calls it their favourite.”
“It’s my mom’s favourite.”
Richie sighed good-naturedly. “Of course, it is. Someone needs to introduce you people to some new music.”
Richie sat up further, and Stan’s hand fell from his hair. His hand immediately felt the loss, and it took a great deal of willpower not to reach up and pull Richie’s head down onto his chest. He stuffed it into his pocket instead, as though the weird feeling he was getting was lack of warmth and not something else.
Richie patted his pockets until he found the one that he was looking for, then pulled out a cassette player. “Listen to this one instead.”
Rolling his eyes, Stan paused his music and pulled out his earbud, replacing it with the one that Richie was offering him. “Oh wait, I think I know this one. It’s by Rex Orange County, right? Mike used to listen to this all the time.”
“I know,” he laughed, “who do you think got him into it to start with?”
“Well maybe you should get me into some new music, since you’re the expert.”
“You know what? Maybe I should. Perhaps I’ll make you a tape.”
Stan hummed. “Why do you like cassette tapes so much anyway? Why not just put all your music on an iPod, or use CDs?”
“My dad used to buy me tapes when I was a kid, and it just went from there I guess,” Richie shrugged. “You were probably expecting it to be a long story, but that’s all there is to it. I’ve just always associated them with happy times.”
Stan smiled and absentmindedly grabbed Richie’s hand. “Nah, I completely understand. It’s like how I’ve kept the cars I used to play with as a kid.”
“Yeah, I suppose.” Richie laced their fingers tighter and squeezed, looking off into the distance. “You don’t really hate me, do you?”
“What? Hate you? No, of course not.” Stan’s brow furrowed. “I was wary to start with but certainly not now. I quite like you actually.”
“Oh good. I quite like you too.” Richie leaned over to rest on Stan’s shoulder, but at the last moment turned his head to brush a feather-light kiss on the hinge of his jaw.
“Richie?”
He stood. “It’s getting late. Come on inside before you catch a cold.” He pulled Stan to his feet by the hand. “We should talk more in the morning.”
“You’re a funny one, Tozier.”
“Just how you like it.”
As Stan watched Richie’s retreating back, he couldn’t help but agree.
***
The accommodation office – a place in which Stan found himself far more often than any other student – was small, cramped, and deeply weaved with the smells of lavender and biscuits. He looked across the desk at Mrs Flint, a motherly woman with crinkled skin and a kind smile, as she pushed back a grey hair with one of her delicate fingers.
“How are you holding up this year, Stan? I was surprised to have not heard from you yet.” She brought up his file on the computer and tapped a few keys on the keyboard. “If you feel like you and your roommate don’t quite fit, there’s a few other people requesting room changes. I’m sure I can arrange something again.”
Stan smiled and wrapped his fingers around the new cassette tape in his pocket. Richie had given it to him that morning, along with a kiss on the lips and an invitation to dinner. “Not this time, ma’am. I think we’ve finally found a winner. There’s nobody else I’d rather spend my time with at the moment.”
“I’m glad to hear that, but are you sure? Last year you barely lasted a month before asking to be swapped around. What’s different this time?”
“There’s something special about this one. I just know it.” He looked behind Mrs Flint at his new boyfriend, who was pulling faces at him through the glass panel of the door. “He’s absolutely perfect, and I wouldn’t have him any other way.”

Kate McKinnon Fanfiction. Foldingchairs and the city of dreams. Re-edited
Hey guys, I’ve decided to post my fanfic about Kate McKinnon on here. You can find it on AO3 as well: http://archiveofourown.org/works/8275334/chapters/18957797
Summary: This fanfiction tells the story of a fan, just like any of us, meeting Kate and everything that happens after that.
It takes off at SNL, later on Nino will be there and Kate is the most amazing person in the world. What could one want more?
Rated M from chapter 5
Chapter 7
How pathetic this must look. I was spread out on the big hotel bed, surrounded by a pile of clothes on one side, an empty suitcase on the other.
“hnghssnnnn” I moan out loud and close my eyes after studying the hotel room ceiling for over half an hour. Images from last night keep playing on the inside of my eyelids and I can't escape the lingering feeling of missing her presence around me.
It was like some cruel nightmare where I had lived out my dreams at first but right before waking up and opening my eyes someone had swept the floor from underneath my feet and left me broken and beat down on the ground.
Fuck My Life
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Kate"
"Yeah"
"I fly back home tonight" I admit and my own heart sinks at the final realization of what that meant.
"Oh..." Is the only thing she manages to say as I watch her struggle with how she should hold herself after this news.
There are so many different emotions flashing over her face I get confused as what I should do next. She finally settles on a small smile that doesn't quite reach her eyes. "That's too bad..."
"Hmmm" I hum and fiddle with my fingers. Why on earth is this so hard? Yeah sure, I had the time of my life with this woman, but that was it, ...right? The torment had to end, we were just standing there at her front door both awkwardly not saying anything and shuffling on our feet. I clear my throat and plaster a smile on my face that hurts from having to force it.
"I should go, let you get ready for work. I had a really great time with you, thanks for everything... and maybe we'll see each other again in the future!" I try to sound hopeful but grimace at the tightness in my throat.
She says nothing and simply opens her arms and wraps them around me, nuzzling her face in my neck like she did this morning, in bed.
"I had so much fun, thank you chairgirl" she mumbles into my skin and a genuine smile finally reaches my face. I hug her back in a way, knowing that this could really be the last time ever. I feel her grip loosen and reluctantly let her go. She stays close though and without anticipating it she stands on her tiptoes and softly presses her lips against mine. The flutter in my stomach and the tingling in my lips from her touch tell the story of why this was so hard. She squeezes my arm and sinks back to her feet again, our lips parting way too soon.
"We'll stay in touch, yeah?" She softly questions and my heart melts.
"Yeah of course!"
"Okay then..., you're free to go" I scrunch my nose disappointedly and she giggles.
"Go you weirdo, you're making this awkward!"
"I AM making this awkward?!" I playfully bite back and we're both laughing now. My hand is on the doorknob and before my brain catches up I'm waving at the beautiful blonde lingering in the doorway one last time from down the hallway as she turns around and disappears behind the door.

I finally drag my lifeless body to the shower to freshen up before my flight, but as the warm water hits my skin all I can think of is her hands on my body, exploring it, like they did this morning. I grunt and shake my head, trying to ban the feeling by turning the shower awfully cold. And although it physically hurts, I finally get the process of cleaning up done without further distraction. I get clothed, check my room once again and then leave with a packed bag and a heavy heart.
As I commute to the airport in a cab I can't help but feel disappointed Kate isn't there to point out all the buildings we pass. I hadn’t seen that much of NYC at all, due to that same Kate, but I didn't mind. For some reason, it felt like this couldn't be the last time I'd be here.
The check-in at the airport went smooth and now the waiting game had started. My flight would be boarding in an hour, and my rumbling stomach ushered me to the nearest restaurant. I enjoyed a salad and a Sprite with some music in my ears, as it suddenly gets interrupted by notification sound. Expecting it to be either my mom or Alice I don't bother to look at my screen before unlocking it, but when I open WhatsApp I see a new message from an unfamiliar number.
My heart rate speeds up when I see the country code and with trembling fingers I tap to open the message.
K: Hey, sorry I didn't text before but I wanted to wish you a safe flight! I hope you had a good time in NYC and I can't wait to see you again someday!
My eyes dart over the screen and I read the message over 5 times, when another message makes the phone buzz in my hands.
K: oh, and Jenna told me to send this to you
The attachment takes a while to load with the crappy airport Wi-Fi but when it finally opens my breath hitches in my throat. Right there is a picture of Kate smiling brightly next to an also beaming Jenna Dawan Tatum.
Thanks to my partly screwed up, stress handling brain I text something that I immediately regret.
M: Are you trying to give me a heart attack before I can even get on the plane?
I nervously wait for a reply, my salad soon forgotten.
Within seconds she replies and I smile.
K: Just a mild one, so you'll survive, but it would mean you'd have to stay another day...   She replies and I snort, the asshole. Although she did kinda say she wanted to keep me in the country......
M: the more and more you talk, the lesser of a nice person you become... I quickly type back and smile brightly. It felt so easy doing this with her.
K: I have heard this before actually, so I take it as a compliment ;)
M: I guess you should! Making the best out of anything and all that...
K: Exactly! A glass half full kind of thing
M: Never knew you were so optimistic....
K: I'm not, just trying to play it cool ;)
M: Finally you admit it… I’ve been wondering all weekend when you’d come clean…
K: You are not a very nice person either, just so you know…
M: Oh I know… I guess we’re doomed for each other.
K: I guess we are….
This texting battle went on until I get tapped on my shoulder by the cashier from the diner I had set up camp.
“Uhm, hey, you were on that flight to Amsterdam right? They just announced last call at the gate, so I guess you kind of got to hurry…”
My face goes white and I try to scamble my stuff together as fast as possible, knocking everything over in the progress. “Oh my god thank you and sorry!! But I gotta go, I’m so sorry!” I shout at her as I grab my bags and make a run for it, leaving the table a mess and the cashier with a shaking head.
I run as fast as I can to my designated gate and the flight attendant at the desk looks annoyed. I scrunch my face apologetically and tell her I’m sorry a thousand times before finally entering the plane and finding the last available seat in the whole aircraft. I sit down, cramped between two other Dutch people and wipe my forehead, Jeezus Christ. I was never late at the gate… Always way to early but never ever late. The blonde on the other side of the phone once again had influenced me in a rather bad and unhandy way. As I settle down and the flight attendants start their usual routine I quickly sent out a last text to the rather impatient waiting Kate (I had 6 unread messages already) to tell her that my plane was about to take off and that I would text her when I got back.
M: And besides, I nearly missed my plane because of you, thanks a lot….
K: Have a safe flight! Catch you on the other side ;) K: Your own fault entirely, no one made you stalk-text me…
M: Yeh yeh whatever… Have a nice day, and tell Jenna I said hi :D
K: BYE!
I smile and stuff my phone away. I could do this. Even though it had hurt like shit to leave her, it wasn’t like she had completely forgotten about me already. I hadn’t imagined this trip to go like this at all, but I was forever grateful that it did, even with the hurt and confusion that it had left me.
