okay but like...

... imagine having a scene/emo/rave squad. kandi making meetups at the playground & making matching bracelets. ordering pizza while y'all stay up late playing mario kart guitar hero & little big planet. glowstick and silly string parties. mall trips where you just go to hot topic, claire's, and spencer's and nowhere else besides the food court and maybe build a bear and everyone dishes in some money for it all. taking turns watching each person's favorite anime or nickelodeon/cartoon network show. having a shared playlist everyone can add to. crowding together in an attempt to take very squished selfies. growing so close that it feels like family. overall rebelling against the modern idea of drama/romance oriented connections and just focusing on having fun in the now and making memories. i feel so robbed of this.

OH MY GOSH. Be weird! Eat shit! Make so many genders! Confuse the fuck out of old people! Make society ANGRY! Since when was there a 'good' way to be weird?? Since when were people supposed to limit their alt-ness to whatever subgenera was normalized that news cycle? Its imperative we understand that alt groups aren't there to do ANYTHING the "normal" way. Oh, they're not emo enough? But they're still listening to the music? Then fuck you! Be pissed off! “Honestly I want to stay at school today, I'm hoping someone is going to ask me to the homecoming dance.”

“Oh, you really actually want to go? To a school dance?”

Then I said “Yeah! With a boy, or a girl. I'm pretty open to both.” Surprisingly, Spencer spoke up right away. “Wanna go with me?” I couldn't help but blush, this was my first time being asked out by someone. I know Spencer was probably just being spontaneous, or nice, or funny. Maybe it was a joke, let me check.

“Are you being serious?”

He said “Yeah” which put my mind at ease. Now I am super excited for this dance! I have a date!
