Tumblr media
It was nearing nine o'clock when Seonghwa stood outside the classroom where four and five year olds trickled in one by one; Spider-Man, Hello Kitty and a few other familiar icons making appearances on their miniature backpacks. He looked at the small Cinnamoroll backpack that hooked around his two fingers by its handle loop, a melancholic smile making its way onto his face when his eyes found sight of the small girl who stood three heads shorter than him. There's not an inch of personal space between the two of them as she idled between his parted feet, eating away at her fingernail while she quietly observed the kids whom she had to call her classmates in the next few minutes. Seonghwa clicked his tongue softly, and pulled her hand away from her mouth.
"Don't bite your nails, Yuha."
He dangled the backpack in front of Yuha and left gentle taps on her arm, waiting for her to stretch her arms for him to slip the straps onto her shoulders. And before he could, she spun on her heel and dove face-first against his tummy, basking in the comforting scent of her father's cologne. Seonghwa's button-up was soon dampened by the tears decorating his shirt and Yuha's backpack dropped to the floor just as his knee did. And he tried—he really did—not to shed tears of his own as he listened to his baby wail into his shoulder.
"Daddy, d-don't leave me!" she pleaded, nuzzling her sniffling nose into his neck.
"I'm not leaving you, Baby," he assured her, "I'll come back for you in a few hours." His hand smoothed over her back as he swayed her side to side, the other cradling the back of her head.
"Why can't I be with you?" Yuha croaked when she faced him, her eyes puffy and glistening under the fluorescent light. Seonghwa sighed and cupped her small face in his hands, his thumbs battling the continuous trails of tears pouring onto her cheeks.
Seonghwa tried explaining in the simplest way he could and murmured, "Daddy has to go to work, Yuha. It's big grown-up stuff…it's not fun."
Yuha looked down at her feet, finding temporary solace in her similarly matching Cinnamoroll crocs. The white dog smiled warmly at her from below, his bright blue eyes and pink cheeks never failing to spark a tinge of happiness in her. He'd always reminded her of her father: quiet, but good and helpful and liked taking naps.
"I'm scared…" she mumbled, once she gathered the courage to look back up. "I dunno anybody."
He nearly melted into mush right there on the spot, brushing the strands of hair let loose to the back of her ear.
"You have to start somewhere. Mommy and I were so nervous to meet you for the first time and look at us now. It's okay to be scared, but it'll go away if you want it to."
She perked up at his word of advice, tears becoming obsolete as her eyes began to glint a promising sparkle in them instead.
"Really, Daddy?"
He hummed and reassured her, "You're a good kid, Yuha; I know you can make a friend. And if you don't make one today, well…that's okay, try again tomorrow. You can always try again."
"Okay," she said, meekly. A small smile crept onto his lips before he enveloped her into another tight embrace.
"Now, don't cry anymore, okay? You're a strong girl—just like Mommy," Seonghwa whispered, patting Yuha's back.
He felt her firm nods against his shoulder before he pressed a kiss to her cheek, picking up her backpack and finally fixing it behind her. Yuha's tiny hands gripped her shoulder straps as she recited words of encouragement under her breath, her eyes finding purchase in her foam shoes again. They soon followed the trail which ended where her father's face resided, and his warm smile forever engraved itself in the back of her mind, ready to appear whenever she found herself in distress. Without a word, she lifted her arms and waited with small, antsy steps in her place and like he's read her mind, she's hoisted into his arms.
"Did I not give enough hugs?" he asked with a playful lilt in his tone.
Yuha huffed, "No, never."
"Yep"—he chuckled—"you're just like your mommy…"
Tumblr media
"And she really cried yesterday?" you asked, searching for confirmation in Seonghwa who hummed. You frowned, trudging to your shared bed where your husband was settled upright. If you weren't so caught up in reliving how your daughter ran into her classroom this morning without so much so looking back at you, you'd take more than just note of the glasses fashionably sloped down his nose while he read a news article on his phone. Sometimes, you couldn't believe this man really made a baby with you and was the extra source of warmth in your bed every night. You must've done something great in your past life, that's for sure.
And when you flopped next to him on your belly, he let out a passive laugh and placed his hand on your bottom.
"What's the matter, Baby?"
You flipped onto your backside, staring at the little nooks and crannies of the popcorn ceiling.
Sighing, you confided, "She didn't do that with me today."
Seonghwa shifted in his place, looking at you with an incredulous stare. Meeting his eyes, you pouted and let out another sigh.
"What? Don't give me that look, Hwa."
"You're saying you wanted her to cry?"
"It's not that, I"—you pinched your nose bridge—"she just gave me a little hug and ran off. She wasn't being a baby, Hwa." Your husband found it to be difficult to contain the amusement threatening his lips as he listened to your voice crack and your words quake. "I-I mean, my baby wasn't being my baby," you whimpered.
"Aw...Honey, she is," he cooed, inviting you with opened arms to which you accepted in the next sniffle you made. "Not like she's doing taxes, she's still learning one plus one—"
"By the time we both blink, she will be!" you whined into his chest.
"We'll get through this, Baby. You're strong," he gently hushed you, aware of the time as the darkness washed over the sky. Brushing his fingers through your hair while he listened to your staggered breaths, he chuckled. "Can you loosen your grip a bit?"
You huffed, "No."
Like mother, like daughter.

can i ask you a dumb question how do you classify a 'classic' winnix fic i am so curious
I am so glad someone asked! I am so passionate about the “classic” style of winnix. “Classic” doesn’t refer to when the fic was written (it doesn’t matter if it’s old or not) or its popularity (it doesn’t have to be super popular). It's not a super common term or anything, but I found a pattern in many winnix fics bc I read so much and started thinking of these elements as part of a "genre."
Here are the musts of a “classic winnix” fic:
Not an AU. events line up closely to the progression of the events in the series, no huge divergences. diehard writers even line events up with the real Dick Winter’s book/other Band of Brothers books
If the plot includes time immediately post-war, it often takes place in NJ and involves Dick working at Nixon Nitration
Kathy, Nix’s sister, Nix’s father, and Dick’s family members are part of the plot if there’s any post-war plot
Lewis’s alcoholism is an issue in the plot and in Dick and Nix’s relationship. Nix struggles with some sort of mental health issue: alcoholism, depression, self-worth issues, etc
Nix and Dick both have issues related to their sexuality because of the homophobia of the period. Even if one or both of them have fully accepted themselves, this was a process they had to go through. Almost always, Dick has spiritually reconciled his sexual attraction with his Christianity. Internalized homophobia and societal homophobia are issues that they have to face.
There are other elements that are definitely not “required” but are super common in the “classic” winnix fic style. Most of the classic style fics will have a few of these elements:
Depending how long the post-war plot of the fic is, Dick and Nix almost always end up farming in the end. Chicken farming, grain farming, and producing animal feed are popular choices. If they end up farming, they always end up in rural Pennsylvania
Stanhope Nixon is an antagonist and blocks Dick and Nix’s ultimate goals of happiness and peace. He’s an alcoholic, and “gave” Nix the disease through childhood trauma, or even just genetics
Nix struggles to be a father to his daughter, and struggles with this issue.
Harry and Kitty are Nix and Dick’s closest friends that remain from their time in the war. They’re not explicitly homophobic and accept Dick and Lew as a couple (especially if they’re not outwardly affectionate in front of Kitty and Harry)
Lewis often does not feel deserving of Dick and struggles to accept Dick’s love. Sometimes he thinks that Dick should move on from him and marry a woman, and that he stands in the way of Dick’s “true” happiness and progress in life. Dick has to convince Nix that he’s the one for him, and that making a life with Lewis would make him happiest.
Bastogne foxhole activities (iykyk)
Some writers pay attention to the speech patterns and slang of the time, and incorporate 1940s language into their writing
I never get enough of this style! Even though the fics within this “genre” have so many similarities with each other, each writer also brings something new to the style and plot. The longer fics within the classic style also feel the most reminiscent of published novels. Maybe I’ll make a list of my favorites in the classic style (although many are in both of my winnix fic rec posts). The peak of classic winnix is the “What Things We Have Heard Together” series by joissant in my opinion. Some other greats are Fiorediloto’s "The Earth Below My Feet" series and the shorter “Give Me Light, Give Me Life” by an orphan account. But I also find more fics that fit into the "classic" style every day!

Can I just speak for a moment about how much I love my own future au for miraculous like guys its what I fall back on when all else is tired. I need to talk about it! Just the idea in general of the future lovesquare children — all the possibilities
Tumblr media
Like look how sneaky she is - so cringe fail at all times
The au is primarily focused around the Emma - Adrien relationship. Adrien’s complicated feelings around his lineage and his renouncing of the cat miraculous while his daughter worships the old heroes -especially Chat Noir (and then becomes one herself). That as Kitty Bell, she tries and tries and tries and fails to be a hero like Chat Noir but she’s not like Chat Noir. She isn’t good at being Chat Noir and it’s so obvious to her that Plagg is disappointed. But she doesn’t fully understand that her desire to be like the old heroes is holding her back, she needs to be herself. When Plagg says she’s not like Chat Noir it isn’t him asking her to be more like him, it’s asking her to stop trying to be him.
And Adrien, oh Adrien, who just wanted to keep his family safe. Never thought any of this could return. Thinks at least his daughter is safe, at least there are new different heroes protecting them and they can’t be his daughter because he’s a better father than Gabriel so he’d notice. He should notice but he doesn’t until it’s too late and he has to find out her identity in the worst of ways.
And I need to write a fic on it so I can just finally feel it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I doodle and draw them all the time and I’m redesigning everything as we speak. Literally drawing Ladybird and I can’t wait to talk about her too. The love square is so so gay in this I need you to understand. Kitty calls her Birdie (and my lady of course) and Birdie says ‘ma belle’ and so many more. And and I wrote them to do this I can’t be this obsessed
I want this to be a Paris haunted by the past. So fucking scared that it’s coming back. They saved the day 20 years ago but that doesn’t mean things were happily ever after and ooooooo things are just so fucking sweet and fucked up. And the young people just don’t get why people are so afraid. It’s all lalalala until the first big battles hit.
There’s so much in my brain I just can’tttttttt

Episode 47 - Indie
Tumblr media
It is cute to see that indie is still friends with all the people he met during his adolescence.
Cough-cough. Unlike certain other people.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His and Kerubim's life stories are in direct opposition. If one of them ever spoke of their childhood, chances are, the other one would be like, "You have no parents? Well MINE was controlling so you have it better, WET-NOSE" or "You had a shit parent? WELL, AT LEAST YOU DIDN'T HAVE HIM DIE IN FRONT OF YOU WHEN YOU WERE 5."
No wonder they hate each other's asses.
Though, it is funny how both of them had fathers who had always acted like no matter what they do, they will never be good enough.
Tumblr media
It's a shame we hadn't seen these friends of Lou's during the series. They have nice designs, especially the yellow one.
Tumblr media
Not a Jurgen-Crepin food moment, but this might be useful for pinpointing which fruits exist within the setting.
Tumblr media
Patafiks is so funny to me, like... Guys there are 5.5 characters in the animated shows who are canonically queer in some way. One of them fucking sucks, one of them dies within the 20 minutes of being introduced, the 0.5 of them is Kerubim Crepin's ambiguous gender dysphoria, the normal two are Simone and Julie, and the last one is a dogboy yandere (who briefly dated("dated") Kerubim Crepin).
We live in a society.
Tumblr media
Indie talks about Kerubim the same way I talk about him on this blog. We are so alike...
Tumblr media
Insert "this bitch always starting shit" meme here.
Tumblr media
Even though Ouginaks and Ecaflips both follow the same god, — albeit his different sides, — this perfectly showcases the difference in ideology that makes them hate one another.
While Ecaflips are all about mysticism, destiny, prophetising, and simply letting the current flow, Ouginaks are all about making their destiny.
Tumblr media
Though I will be real, considering the things Ecaflip puts his demigods through, — like the, uh, son leaderboard within his dimension, or his treatment of Kerubim, (and his hatred of women, I guess, since there is no daughter leaderboard?) — as well as the Ecaflip City and its Ecaflip Psychward, I think his two personalities are more alike than we are led to believe.
It's just that the kitty personality has more glitz, and is better at masking being just as sadistic.
Tumblr media
This line really puts how long they've known each other into perspective. God.
It also makes me think hard about the tendency of Ankama to not make distinct visual designs for characters aging, — like in Waven. Despite 30 years having passed between season 1 of Wakfu, and the start of Waven, characters like Miranda and Kabrok still look exactly the same.
I had always associated young Kerubim's design with the age range of 19-30 at best, but who's to say he can't, in this episode, be in his 40s-50s? How many years did he and Lou live together for? And how large is the gap of that unaccounted for part of Kerubim's life, the one that he never opens up about, after Lou had left him?
...I think I hauve covid.
Tumblr media
Y'know what, I think I will be insane for a minute, and say this:
Joris, Atcham, and Kerubim really are like platonic soulmates. It feels like every single thing in their lives somehow rhymes, — like every single step they took simply brought them close to the inevitable conclusion of being together.
Sure, whatever, just tell me things like "Atcham knew, and worked with Julith, and they had a pretty amicable relationship", "Yeah Kerubim and Indie rescued the Ivory Dofus that would one day lead to Joris's birth, and then would lead to his orphanhood", "Yeah Kerubim has always wanted to be a father, and felt a certain way about kids being orphaned the same way he was", "Yeah Atcham and Kerubim went to the same war where Julith and Jahash fell in love and were probably their seconds-in-command."
Tell me that. Expect me to be normal about it. I promise I won't disappoint you.
Tumblr media
Anyway,
Tumblr media
I always found it very interesting that, despite becoming the Champion of Bonta, it was not Indie who went to that war, but Kerubim.
Perhaps Indie was long happily retired by that point, — perhaps he veered from adventuring into archaeology, for his museum, — while Kerubim was old, with no friends, and not much to live for anymore.
It probably was a self-destruction thing, in the "Atcham, and The Butcher of Brakmar herself, will be there. I'm so bored, and tired... It will be poetic if I defeat them, or die trying to. Then I'll be a legend. Also, there are a lot of people at wars, maybe one of them will be friendly to me :3" way.
World of Twelve heroes are always doing this shit. 💀 though considering he can't die, this isn't even suicidal ideation. It's ideation-ideation. God.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Despite everything, Kerubim does care about Indie, a lot. Indie seems to have cared for him too, — but, at times, I really do wonder if Kerubim's feelings for him ran much deeper than Indie's.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Every sign of genuine emotion is laughed at, and a genuine "I had always respected you" gets a downright haunting "yeah, and your taxidermied head will look nice in my museum when you die".
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That must hurt, doesn't it?
Tumblr media
It's funny, how life works out. Just like Kerubim, he ended up raising his kid in a completely opposite way than how he was raised. And then he dies, and his kid gets taken in by Kerubim, — who has already taken in the child of his another enemy.
...The implications of Lilotte's life make me sad. Unlike Joris, she didn't grow up in a hazardous, infested, hoarding environment. Indie was likely not mentally ill to the shits. Yet Joris's worst nightmare, — his father passing away, and him being forced to fend for himself, — actually happened to her, immediately ripping away the normal, maybe even privileged, life she had. And it just compounds the sense of loss she already had for her birth parents.
Unlike Joris, who grew up wondering vaguely about his birth family, it seems like much more of a sore spot, with her attachment to her bell...
(Off topic but, god, it's so Bonta-core, that the adoptive daughter of a previous champion of Bonta, who had a museum and was rich, ended up on the streets like a stray. I hate that city so much, it's unreal.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She uses some pretty dark humor to cope with that. I mean, she already lost two families. No way in hell she's losing a third one. Which kinda harkens back to Kerubim's own backstory, and his own loss of the entire Crepin family, save for Atcham.
I think it's cute that, just like him, — she becomes a mother at some point in her life. Maybe it's because she looked up to Kerubim, who had a similar life story to hers, and that inspired her. Maybe it's just something she wanted, even without thinking of Kerubim's own orphan to dad pipeline.
Tumblr media
But either way, it's like poetry — it rhymes.

I think one of the most appealing character building aspects of arrested development is how fully fleshed out the women are. It came out in 2003 and it does better than shows coming out now, 20 years later. All of the women are equally if not more so scheming, conniving, and manipulative as their male counterparts. Lindsay is portrayed at being good at manipulating men’s emotions and sexualities despite marrying a gay man, which makes sense when the show establishes her better relationship with her father. Her mother gave her an eating disorder, so her father got to teach his little girl how to get people to give you what you want. She’s also (inadvertently) adept at running a business, which was no doubt the influence of both parents and her “twin” brother.
Her daughter, Maeby, took her mother’s skill for lying and her father’s aptitude at earnest acting. She’s just as manipulative as the women before her, if not more. By pure lies alone, she gets multiple jobs, free housing, and cheats the school system. Instead of using roofies to sexually assault Steve Holt, she uses them specifically to avoid sex. Maeby constantly defies expectation, subverts standards, and makes her own path as the daughter with two negligent, well meaning parents.
Which brings us to Lucille. Lucille and her husband set the standard for all of their children and grandkids. Although we can assume there was a long line of weirdly fucked up Bluths and Jenkins (Lucille’s maiden name) before them, they are the epitome of the Bluth name: selfish boomers/silent gens that will stop at nothing to get their way. Lucille is a queen at mind games and casually cruel offhand remarks. She is revealed to be in charge, in a spin that surprises few watchers. Everyone know’s Lucille pulls the strings, even if George sr is equally exploitive.
Even the minor ladies in ad pass the bechdel test with flying colors. Maggie is, quite frankly, kind of a bitch - she doesn’t care who she’s screwing over, as long as she looks good (par course for the Bluth family). Kitty is a true home wrecker: she knows her partner’s wife and she knows that she “hates” the cheating. We don’t know how much it actually bothers Lucille, but Kitty doesn’t care. All of Michael’s love interests leave him, and he’s the main character. His son, George Michael, doesn’t fare much better romantically either, except with Ann, who also eventually rejects him. Even Ann, the devout evangelical Christian, is still given notable characteristics and personality traits: faithful, passionate, stubborn. From Lupe to Lucille II, the women are allowed to be just as full as the men, which is refreshing, especially from 20 years ago.

So feel free to delete this but I got this idea from this comic called “Miss Kitty and her Bodyguards” where a young child humanoid cat is the hero’s to a mafia group and is raised by the bodyguards who are protecting her. It’s a pretty good read so I suggest you give it a chance but anyway back to my request.
I was think of Atlas having a daughter before he died (you can choose if she was born before Atlas met Mitzi or if the daughter is their biological child) and she’s raised by the Lackadaisy crew.
Thank you for your time.
Nah fam it fine and anon I like this idea
Tumblr media
I’m going with the idea atlas had this child before he met Mitzi she would be like around Ivy age so I’m gonna just write their relationships because yeah also apologies this might be lazy
-atlas (your dad die lol)
you and your dad well, complicated you know he love you in his own way but he was a mix of distance and stoic probably because of all the booze empire, but he did pay for all your school and toys and stuff but still his death was hard but he did try to teach you some skills of his
(I feel like atlas, wouldn’t care about gender as long as you knew how to shoot a gun and run a business so he would’v try to teach both genders)
-Mitzi (your mom got it going on)
she just mom well you haven’t called her mom in a long time. Just Mitzi but when you first met she spoiled you alittle you never met your actual mom and well she became your strongest mother figure (one reason she liked you is she didn’t have to have a pregnancy to ruin her figure and especially if you’re like a girl )
but yeah but after atlas death you was one of her rock (well once she didn’t really use a lot but still) you learn lot of charisma from her even learning to play the ukulele
-Ivy (your “little” sister)
your sister from another mother and Father both of you grew up in the speakeasy. It was a little over there, so she was like your little sister, but little by little bit but you guys are thick is thieves and still are (if it male some people say you should dated, but that would’ve been weird) you’re a little overprotective of her but she a clever girl…
(if girl she would probably get you in to the more fashion sense buying clothes, for the both of you making me wear these flapper outfits and if boy the same but she get this pinstripe suits)
-viktor (uncle with big divorce, energy)
I’m just gonna do it again it’s the same with the IV but like there’s two IVs now you see the both of you like his metaphor children but to you he like your tall gruff slav uncle Ivy have a definite has a better relationship with him I guess but you understand him a bit
(like Ivy you learn some mechanical stuff from him )
-Mordecai ( estranged brother with big divorce energy)
well he like your older brother kind of he was more busy with Atlas (honestly made you a little jealous) but it was a OK acquaintance, but you did share a nice appreciation of crossword puzzles, to be honest you weren’t really close to him but he seems like he was an OK guy a serious weird OK guy your dad liked
but then he left after your dad death you don’t really have much feelings on him. Yeah, you were bit sad that he left but he kneecapped Viktor that oathbreaker
(he probably try to pass some more refined, intelligent words to you. Most of them went over your head, but some stuck)
-zib (your mess of a uncle and …..your mom ex)
oh boy this mess of a cat at he didn’t talk to you and try to ignore you didn’t know why but after you and Ivy shenanigans he open up a little more and more now he’s just zib you did play ukulele for the band from time to time when you was older he was just zib
then boom you found out he was your mom ex and your dad cucked him hard which was fucked up (he did teach you how to bum a cigarette )
-rocky and freckle
They’re both relatively new Rocky been here for a year and freckle only for a short while (also dating Ivy ) to be honest, you don’t mind honest….. anyway you rocky freckle and Ivy are the club main rumrunner now you know rocky better then freckle and freckles, a bit weird at least rocky is honest weird but freckle he has something in him those eyes when he get a gun
you sometime play with Rocky he with the violin you with the ukulele
(Sidenote rocky x Atlas daughter you alway thought rocky was cute in his own manic way he was one of your rock when Atlas died you cry on his shoulder and well you wouldn’t mind to date him )

You know what show I really hope the ghosts put on while they were all together? HMS Pinafore. Everyone from Fanny onwards most likely knew it reasonably well already, either by cultural osmosis or from being a theatre gay, and for the rest it's probably the easiest operetta to pick up that's ever existed.
Tumblr media
I imagine it would have gone down something like this:
Josephine Corcoran- Kitty
Ralph Rackstraw - Thomas
Absolute no-brainers for the lead soprano and tenor. Ralph scores extra points for being one of the most dramatic and flouncy tenors Gilbert ever wrote. At one point he has a speech that's so flowery it's genuinely incomprehensible. Unfortunately his big aria is terribly dull (still in-character tbh) but both of Josephine's are brilliant. Especially "The hours creep on apace", where, having secretly accepted Ralph's proposal, she does waver a bit since, after all, he is a bit of a pleb.
Captain Corcoran - The Captain
Keeps the Pinafore ship-shape and Bristol-fashion. Would have a lovely father-daughter relationship with Josephine. Gets to be in lots of bangin' numbers, especially "I am the Captain of the Pinafore".
Captain: I do my best to satisfy you all -
Crew: And with you we're quite content!
Captain: You're exceedingly polite and I think it's only right to return the compliment.
Sir Joseph Porter - Julian
Marvellously smug and superior patter baritone who got to his lofty position via flattery and luck rather than merit. No direction needed.
Little Buttercup - Fanny
I think she would struggle playing someone who's meant to be lowly, but on the other hand she'd probably really get into every other aspect of the character, especially when she gets to drop mysterious hints all the way through, and dramatically reveal the twist at the end. (She also really reminds me of the mature student who played Little Buttercup for my university's Light Opera Society once, who was very definitely another repressed middle-aged horndog. Get it, girl.)
Cousin Hebe - Mary
Not much of a part, but I suspect getting Mary to concentrate on something like this for any length of time without going off on a tangent would be... tricky. Would be enthusiastic about helping Josephine and might have to be held back from headbutting Captain Corcoran when he tries to stop the elopement.
Dick Deadeye - Robin
Hunched, triangular bass Dick Deadeye growls his way through the opera causing chaos just... 'cos. Is far more perceptive than the Captain and has to really spell out that Josephine and Ralph are planning on running away together.
Bosun's Mate - Humphrey's head
Carpenter's mate and director - Pat
This probably required slightly delicate handling, since Pat is the better singer (and He is an Englishman is harder than it looks), but a) keeping rehearsals from descending into anarchy probably took all his energy and b) Humphrey might have been slightly grumpy being relegated to a really tiny role again. At least they both get to be in A British Tar is a Soaring Soul.
Chorus of sisters, cousins, and aunts - Humphrey's body
Carries the whole show on his back.

Tonowari was feeling the exuberance his father had always told him about, growing up with sensationally heroic stories of all of the great feats by all of the Metkayina Na’vi of all. He was still riding the high of a streak of good things coming his way. First, his beloved had accepted his courting gift a fortnight ago, Ronal silently praising him with the way her blue eyes lit up with every bite she took of the of the meal he had prepared for her and her family. Second, the young Na’vi male had passed his final warrior’s rite a week ago and the current Tsahìk – his father’s younger sister – had tattooed his shoulder, part of his clavicle and one of his upper biceps three night ago, which were healing up quite nicely. And this morning when Tonowari and his friends had gone out to assist the fishermen, he had caught the most, much to everyone’s delights. Especially with representatives coming from the Ta’unui village supposed to be arriving today for his cousin’s upcoming wedding ceremony.
Walking up the beach, Tonowari eagerly headed for his aunt’s marui to see if his beloved could take a break with him. A flare of warmth pooled within as he thought of bringing Ronal into a private corps of mangrove roots and to spend some time sipping on her lips. And if she was not in the same amorous mood as he, just having her in his arms and basking in her scent and warmth.
Because she had agreed to be his.
That thought alone made his smile wider and move quicker, intent on basking in his beloved’s presence.
“Oel ngati kameie, Ma’tsahìk,” Tonowari called cheerfully, entering the marui where his father’s sister was lighting a roll of herbs for the smoke; he thought she called it incense but he wasn’t entirely sure. He just knew the smoke smelled pleasant… usually. His blue eyes scanned the rest of the pod but the one he was actually looking for seemed to be missing. His ears dropped and he looked questioningly towards his smiling aunt.
The Tsahìk sniggered at him, replying, “I sent Ronal to replace our stock of paywll. You should find her on the western border of the island.”
Tonowari’s smile returned instantaneously and he thanked his father’s younger sister and turned to go find his beloved.
Moving through the village over the bouncy walkway, the young Na’vi male noticed that some of the envoys of the Ta’unui village had arrived while he had been with his friends this morning, their tattoos and clothing styles slightly different from what he was used to. He grinned to himself, turning his gaze forward and even more eager to find the missing Tsakarem so that they could meet their neighboring representatives together. Leaving the village, the woven walkway turned into soft sand which turned into soft earth and lush grass as he searched for his beloved impatiently. And find her he did, with an unknown male. A tall, broad-shouldered male with one of his shoulders and part of his face and neck tattooed in a dark, swirling pattern. His hair was also shaved on either side of his head with the dark locks on top braided back into a loose ponytail, his neural queue hanging over his uninked shoulder. It also didn’t help that the unknown Na’vi’s loincloth was smaller in size and hung tantalizingly low upon his chiseled hips. And Ronal, his sweet, beautiful Ronal was appearing practically jovial with this handsome unknown Na’vi male as the two of them plucked paywll leaves and chatted amongst themselves.
Seeing her with him, smiling in a way she had never smiled at him? Something hot flashed within his chest.
Hot and wild and angry.
His smile wiping away, Tonowari wanted to drive his fist into this unknown male’s face and the center mast of his stupidly muscled body. He wanted to shove his dagger into that tattooed chest over and over. He wanted to drag the unknown Na’vi under the water and leave him at the bottom of the ocean or to maybe even leave a cut or two upon his skin for an akula to scent and then to feed upon.
Then Ronal turned and spotted him, her smile softening in brightness and intensity as her blue eyes met his. She lifted her arm and beckoned him towards her. “Ah, Wari,” the Tsakarem greeted him before looking up at her companion, her smile widening once more. “This is Kxawun Te Atxzìtx Tsyrun’iyan. Kxawun, this is—”
“I’m her intended muntxatan and the Metkayina Olo’eyktan’s nephew ,” Tonowari found himself snarling as he crossed the distance to his beloved’s side and possessively tucking his arm around her waist.
Ronal’s face fell while the foreign Na’vi male’s grin turned forced.
Tonowari grit his teeth and pulled his beloved closer into his body, sizing up the other male through narrowed blue eyes.
The Tsakarem scoffed and turned towards Kxawun and murmured softly, “Perhaps you could give us a moment, please, Kxawun? I will see you later.” She handed him her basket full of paywll leaves and turned a scowl on her partner before turning sharply and stomping further away from the village, negative emotions radiating out of her now that it was just the two of them, what with the Ta’unui Na’vi heading back towards Awa’atlu. Tonowari followed after her and before he could speak, she sneered viciously, “How could you embarrass me like that?! I thought you were not an arrogant vonvä’! That was why I accepted your courting gift! After that?! I am rethinking my decision!” Taken aback by her use of utterly insulting and foul language, his jaw slackened and he blinked at her in surprise before the rest of her words sank into his mind and registered their meanings.
“No! Ronal… Yawntu… please, do not say such things,” he begged.
She hissed at him, her ears flicking back in her rage. “Then explain yourself, Tonowari! What? Was? That?!”
The anger of the unknown male having all of her attention flashed through him once more and he growled in response, “He was all over you, yawntu! You must know he was flirting with you with the way he was trying his hardest to make you smile and laugh! Even I cannot seem to do that with you and I have known you for years, Ronal. I ask your forgiveness but I felt threatened by his display when I finally have you to myself as I have loved you for many years!”
It was her turn to stare at him with a slackened jaw and a couple of blinks before she exploded once more.
“I can’t believe you! YOU ABSOLUTE SKXAWNG!” Ronal shouted at him, causing him to flinch at her burning wrath. “Kxawun Te Atxzìtx Tsyrun’iyan is my childhood friend who moved to the Ta’unui clan when we were all still children and is now mated to a male! A male, you skxawng! If anyone should be worried about him being interested in one of us, it should be me because I chose you, Tonowari because I love you!” She scoffed once more and stomped even further down the beach.
He… was… a moron. Tonowari swallowed, feeling like a complete and utter idiot and wishing briefly that the earth or maybe the sea would swallow him up for being such an incompetent dolt but apparently, he wouldn’t have to fight for his beloved’s attention. Well, maybe he would have to struggle for her attention for a little bit while her friend was present for the upcoming wedding ceremony, but in the end, he wouldn’t have to worry about her attention straying. And the fact of the matter… she had told him she loved him back. She loved him. Ronal loved him. Tonowari felt all of his rage melt away and be replaced with even more of the enthusiasm and energy than he had been feeling earlier that day. He rushed forward, toes digging into the grassy earth and propelling himself forward so he could catch his beloved’s wrist and forcibly swing her around and pull her possessively into his arms, despite her shriek of surprised outrage at being manhandled until he silenced her with a heated kiss. “I’m a skxawng,” he muttered between smooches. “I was jealous.” Another kiss. “I was thoughtless.” Smooch, smooch, smooch. “And I do not deserve you.” After another round of kisses, he added, “I will happily spend the rest of my life making up for the embarrassment of that moment and I will do better from here on out.” Ronal hummed; a considering look upon her features. She decided, “You will make dinner for Kxawun and you will ask him for forgiveness.” Although that stung his pride a bit, Tonowari nodded. For her, he would do anything. “As you wish, yawntu,” he agreed, silently promising himself he would not allow his jealousy to rule him ever again.

Since it is Stormpaw's Demon time in the ask box, I was wondering about how you are going to handle Mudfur's story. I think it's really interesting how he's a former strong warrior who becomes a medicine cat out of disillusionment towards war and duels Adderfang to spare everyone else the battle, though his motivation regarding Brightsky's death seems a little weak in that Brightsky just dies in a way that has nothing to do with the warriors' battle culture which somehow makes him be disillusioned with constant war. I wonder if that will be changed in the rewrite so that Brightsky's death more directly connects with his arc or his motivations don't have to do with Brightsky at all and maybe she lives longer than in canon (especially because it feels odd to have two unrelated deaths in childbirth in one clan in one book when that's pretty rare for cats). I even thought that maybe you could play on how humans tried to capture Brightsky in canon and have her get captured after a particularly bloody battle, give birth to her kittens in a human house and decides she'd prefer not to come back. Hailstar basically decides he doesn't want a willing traitor but takes Leopardkit back, leading to Mudfur still raising her alone and being left with the haunting realization that Brightsky isn't wrong about the horrible parts of Clan life, and was it really right for Leopardkit to be taken away? So he wants to create a world that is peaceful enough that his daughter really would be better off in the Clans, only for said daughter to grow up to be one of their most violent members. This could also make Mudfur a sort of foil to Leopardfoot in their reactions to their kits' other parent becoming a kitty pet, with Leopardstar and Tigerstar maybe bonding over this as young warriors.
I would love to see how his principled opposition to his culture plays out during all of the events of TPB and pre-TNP with the TigerClan sympathizers still running around (I remember @feathermedics suggested Mudfur should have called for the disbandment of RiverClan after the TigerClan incident to show he really does stand for something, that could be interesting).
I would love if, even if you are gutting a lot of Leopardstar's Honor, you kept some kind of novella to cover Leopardstar's drypaw stage and her relationship with her father because I think that is interesting material.
Also regarding Mudfur, I think it would be interesting if there is differences in the Clan culture about whether Mudfur should really be allowed to be a medicine cat. Like RiverClan is fine with it and thinks it doesn't violate the celibacy vow thing if he doesn't have kits while he's a medicine cat, but WindClan, who was responsible for making the vow as harsh as it was back in Ripplestar's time and are known for being extra pious, think it's bad for someone who already had kits to be a medicine cat and generally give Mudfur dirty looks and disrespect at gatherings.
That's a good point about Brightsky I hadn't considered; that her death doesn't actually have anything to do with the horrors of Clan Culture during the late Chivalric Period.
That DOES work better, to have her leave instead. Added. She's either a kittypet or part of BloodClan now. (She could be a friend of Pinestar, even... hmm.)
There's no need to have so many childbirth deaths anyway, especially not for the "Big Players" in Clan politics. I don't like how WC keeps implying that badness comes from Sad Childhoods lmao.
Leopardfur can have problems with Skyheart when they're little, and she can have a complicated relationship to the disappearance of her mother (she won't be told she's still alive though, that's Hailstar's and Mudfur's secret, they take Darkstar's Commandment very seriously), but 4 people don't have to die to accomplish Bonefall Leopardstar becoming the threat she is.
On that note, I could actually use a couple of her genetics. I just checked the wiki, and it looks like there's 3 free kittens for me to work with in RiverClan! Their names were Oatkit, Waterkit, and Carpkit.
So poll time! Pick the kitten you want to see.
(Note: The other two might get shuffled around to other warriors in RiverClan, or go live in Chelford with their mom.)
I'm not very interested in preserving Leopardstar's Hoopla because I don't think she actually gains anything by getting an entire SE. I think she exists perfectly as an intimidating, honor-bound force of nature whose late TPB shame was only a temporary lapse in her pride, her death considered a great loss even by her enemies.
But Mudfur... I wouldn't mind trying to preserve and elevate Mudfur. Especially since he was definitely a cat who worked with Deerfoot, Dawnflower, Reedpaw, and the other TigerClan Rebels. One of the cats saved by Deerfoot refusing to rat out his accomplices.
For now I'll definitely promise more time in the redux of A Shadow In RiverClan-- The Tiger in RiverClan and consider more.
Also... I need more girls. I might hit Mudfur with the Woman Beam. Brightsky can either trade genders, or I'll shuffle the runner-up kitten to be a sibling so they can honor-sire (though it would mean losing a valuable extra kitten).

Another kitty! Meet Stempelt!
Stempelt is a lean, pale gray tom with icy blue eyes. He looks pretty basic. Not a remarkable looking guy!
But he has a strange origin. Stempelt is the son of Runningwind and Redtail. They used a Shadowclan surrogate named Fidgetflower, Fintfang's mate. When they have a litter, they promise the second born kitten to Runningwind and Redtail.
That second born is delivered to Thunderclan by Flintfang soon after its birth, sweet little Stemkit is given to...
"Oh. I didn't know. I'm so sorry for your loss, Runningwind."
Runningwind still takes his newly born son into Thunderclan, stating that this kit is his and Redtail's. Queen's Rights. He loves his son, but this pudgy, squeaking, nose-nipping little baby is a reminder of what's been lost. Runningwind refuses to let it get to him, and fiercely protects the infant, Frostfur sharing her milk with him.
Stemkit quickly grows into Stempaw, a mischievous little apprentice that forms a friendship with the equally mischievous Cloudpaw for what seems to be the express purpose of driving Fireheart insane.
Then, so suddenly and terribly, Runningwind is killed by Tigerclaw. Stempaw mourns heavily, along with the more silently grieving Sandstorm. The two almost siblings don't talk, they enjoy each other's quiet and peace. Sandstorm never knew what to make of Runningwind, but felt connection to him, seeing as Redtail finding her in the woods as a baby had lots of cats marking them down as family.
Stempaw was incredibly upset once more when Cloudpaw leaves Thunderclan, it actually damaged their relationship a little bit forever. It hurt, his best friend leaving with seemingly no trace, especially when he knew Cloudpaw was too tough to be kidnapped.
He was excited when Cloudpaw came back, but once again the feeling would wind up bittersweet when the now trans molly earned her name first, and when denouncing Starclan at that! Stempaw was older than her, it wasn't fair! She was gonna leave him behind again...
Though, he feels horrible when her crush, Brightpaw, is mauled by dogs. He understands her absence then, as Cloudtail fusses over the cat she loves so very much.
At the same time, Mistlepaw, Snowpaw's sister was struggling with her training. Her mother Speckletail was always supportive, but all the support in the world cannot make you pass assessments. Not that it matters much, with Bluestar refusing all apprentices their Warrior names, but Mistlepaw is especially struggling with tracking and battle training. With nothing much else to do, Stempaw helps her out. The 2 grow close, wrestling around together and Mistlepaw helping him with his grief. He forms a good bond with Mistlepaw and Snowpaw.
Firestar, new leader, finally gives almost all the apprentices their new names, including Stempaw, earning the name Stempelt. His mentor, Cherryshine, sister of Ravenpaw and Dustpelt, beams at him, offering him to sit with her and enjoy a good meal of blackbird together.
He fights in the Battle of Bloodclan alongside Mistleberry and Snowpaw (note: Snowpaw earned his name immediately afterwards, as he wasn't quite ready for his new name yet, he could fight, but he insisted he wanted to get his hunting perfect before he got a new name)
Stempelt would make the Journey with Thunderclan after being freed from his cage by Leafpaw, giving all his assistance to Speckletail alongside Mistleberry and Snowtail. Mistleberry and Stempelt became Courts. Almost mates, but not quite.
They held off on having any kits until they were 100% sure they were ready for it. They didn't become official mates until Po3 began, and they only had a litter of kits during The Divided Warriors (The Forgotten Warrior's new title)
During Long Shadows, he is given an apprentice. Deerpaw, new grandson of Tigerstar through his daughter Lynxpetal (a surviving Lynxkit). He acts as a father figure to the nervous little guy, and supports him after he loses one of his paws.
Finally, just as it seems things are going badly for the Clans, Mistleberry suddenly gives birth to 2 kittens. Frogkit, a bulky gray tom with green eyes; and Sunkit, a reddish brown spotted tabby molly with amber eyes. Though no one knows it yet, Sunkit is going to transition during apprenticeship, becoming a tom named Volepaw.
Though, tragically, Stempelt will never see this. Stempelt is killed during The Last Hope, fighting against the Dark Forest Trainee, Thornclaw.
He and Mistleberry both perish during the Battle, both watching their boys from Starclan.

basic relationships chart (or something something...) with a double feature including kitty's children--
so! for the canons--
naki married dating shuu and they are so happily in love it's genuinely sickening; rough dynamic with karren because she doesn't trust his crybaby ass and he picks his nose in front of her to get under her skin. thinks of junichi as a cool older brother
mirumo the proud papa of shuu and adoptive father, of sorts, to karren; single but unsure if ready to mingle. i'm personally open to it but i'm unclear on if it actually suits mirumo's character considering his undying love for his wife. a true wife guy for the ages! he knows of lenn and thinks of him as strange. he distrusts the ikari family
karren is not in love with shuu-- mistook her feelings of adoration and idolization as genuine romantic love. she loves shuu but not in that way because i think it's a little weird considering the circumstances ♡ anyone that is an enemy of master shuu or the tsukiyama family are enemies, no ifs ands or buts
akihiro "dating" donato (no one knows what's going on with these two old men but at least they're having fun? question mark?) and, contrary to popular belief, is alive! why? who knows! i'll think of something. one-eyed ghoulification mayhaps.
renji dating watching over uta, more or less a wandering sort that does odd jobs on the side. he's probably staying with uta somewhere and is constantly having to keep him in check but also joins in on hijinks more than he cares to admit sometimes he's just too darn tired
cool! and now for the original characters--
ren, "head" of the ikari family-- slaughtered his ex-wife, yumiko, in cold blood and fed her remains to his two sons, nori and takeshi. don't worry, he also cleaned his plate. it was satisfactory. currently married (in his heart of hearts, awww omg!) to junichi. his ward loves him because it's borderline a cult. everyone else hates him though because they're sane. it's a whole thing.
yuu "dating" furuta, frenemies (enemies mostly.) with takeshi. they're sorta kinda rivals and all of their fights end in gorefest tie single time. was part of the ccg but leaves after faking his death, primarily because he thinks the ccg are a bunch of pussies and he wants to kill ghouls as he pleases. he also eats ghouls.
yori, professional clown at your service! dating nori and wants to marry him some day. rough relationship with ren because of a violent run-in, ren nearly kills and cannibalizes him. he and renji are kind of friends, mostly because of his ties to the clowns and renji's proximity to uta.
jun, head of the miyamoto family, has been a widow for several years. he and his teenaged daughter, aimi, live alone in their well-kept mansion. his wife, airi, was murdered by ryosuke and her kakuhou made into his very own quinque. he doesn't have a lot of relationships, considering his shut-in status. he's the closest thing to a pacifist ghoul you're gonna get and simply does not fuck around and find out.
katsuro is dating takeshi and has been defected from the ccg for quite some time. he leaves as a rank 1 but, currently, could be considered an associate special class or higher nowadays. he's turned more and more into a ghoul sympathizer as the days go on, mostly because of takeshi. lost his eye in the past due to a run-in with "glasgow", aka ren. also has a prosthetic right leg born from the same incident. slightly terrified of junichi.
chiyo is yumiko's sister and is married to asuka-- they're the rich lesbian aunts everyone wants but only takeshi and nori get. hates ren's guts, tolerates junichi's presence. she's well-known in the human world as a dj, known formally as b@rracuda and frequents the night club scene both as ghoul and "human" as a regular
masao is part of the washuu clan, born into it under the designated title of "seed" but ultimately defects because of it. he's an on and off ally of goat. hates every other washuu and associate, furuta especially. has a bit of a soft spot for rize, sees her somewhat as a sister. otherwise, he's known as a brutal and aggressive ghoul known as "ogre" that is infamous for his mass killings after long lulls of silence
ryosuke is a quinx, unsure of the generation (and i canNOT bother to care right now.) currently, and is a special class investigator. killed jun's wife and claimed "her" as his quinque. he "jokes" about his frame also being her but c'mon. that's too much ghoul. regularly conflicts with jun. jun killed his own husband as revenge, quoted as, "now, be as lonely as i am." and bit off one of his ears too. has a prosthetic ear now as replacement. would kill a child if they were a ghoul, has killed a ghoul child, and will continue to do so. aimi, you're next.
lenn is a clown that works at a ghoul restaurant. he doesn't really come into contact with the rest of the clowns unless necessary due to being a bit of a "homebody" at the restaurant. he's regularly paired up with furuta, however, and they've become besties. he likes playing bait for potential victims, hence his name "catfish", and loves seeing their faces when they see him auctioning them off like cattle to other ghouls. yori thinks he's fascinating, lenn thinks yori is kind of annoying.

My Thoughts after watching all of Season 1 of That 90s Show: (Spoilers below cut)
I love the new gang. They have the dynamic of the Original Gang, but are also unique in their own way too.
The show has the same feel to it as That 70s Show. They really did well with that, even the references and cameos and Easter Eggs to it. It had a great feel of the 90s.
I honestly love Leia. She is precious. She reminds me of a younger me.
Of course I love Fez, Donna, Eric, Red and Kitty as usual too. I love getting to see Eric being a Dad.
However, they did Jackie, Hyde and heck, even Kelso dirty too. They completely retconned them and didn’t even mention Hyde. All the character development they went through, between Jackie & Hyde’s relationship and how they impacted each other, to Kelso working to become a father for his daughter with Brooke and becoming a cop…it all completely went in the trash and was retconned and forgotten. I feel like they got the worse end of this all and it’s terrible.
I know the shit going down with Masterson, but at least a mention to Hyde would have been great. Even if it was the: “Oh yeah, Hyde’s in Jail.” But no…NOTHING!
And honestly, putting Jackie and Kelso back together again (and going through remarriages), especially after all the shit they went through in the original show, not to forget the thing called CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, was a shitty ass move. I know the actors are married in real life, and I think that’s the only reason they decided to make it this way, but it still sucks! I mean, I hate Season 8 for so many reasons and like to act like it didn’t exist, but this was a new level of denial from the writers.

These thoughts came about basically last night while I was at work, under the assault of Christmas music, and I tried to get something down but it was the end of my break and Mariah Carey's Christmas song came on and I had to run away because I did not want to hear it again. Enjoy!
Cute little Christmas things for Cats.
-Bombalurina, Tugger, Demeter, and Jemima have the same human family, consisting of a Grandmother (Tugger's preferred human), Two adult daughters (they're Demeter's favorites) with grandchildren (about three girls and two boys, Tugger is very tolerant of them, especially the girls who always dress him up and give him baths), a veterinarian son (Bomba's favorite human), and Jemima is still figuring out which one she likes (she does like the vet son and one of the young boys because of vibes). Munkustrap has different humans but they super support him visiting the family because of Demeter (they super encourage demestrap relationship)
-Tugger, Bomba, and Demeter have experienced Christmas with the family before, where Bomba was christened "the Christmas cat" because her favorite bed is a green plaid cat bed that is super soft and against her fur pattern made her coloring perfect for Christmas, making the children carry her around and actually do things to her that were Christmas-y. (She was tolerant enough to the point when she had enough she went to their uncle). Demeter fell into silver tinsel and caused the children to start singing "Silver and Gold" from Rudolph the Red nosed Reindeer. This was brought up again when Munkustrap came over, making the children play with them. There was, on occasion, some fake cat marriages, but only between Tugger and Bomba, and Demeter and Munk. (the parents had a hand on enforcing that because of Demeter's annoyance with Tugger.)
-Jemima was actually given the name "Jemima" because she reacted to the grandmother reading off the back cover summary of "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" and she read Jemima. Bomba finds it hilarious because like Demeter, her Jellicle name is her human name. Bomba's human given name is Ruby, while Tugger's is Bill Bailey. Munkustrap's name with his family is Peter.
-With Jemima in tow, the cats come to the home before the family put up the tree. Demeter is the only one who is not playing/getting in the way as they are putting the tree up. The grandmother good naturally scolds the two cats and the kitten on "why can't you be nice like Demeter and wait until we finish the tree" The children are then given the task of "distract the kitties", which goes as well as you expect it (Doesn't work on Tugger, partially works on Bomba, and completely works on Jemima, though Tugger does distract Jemima by bringing her back to the tree. Tugger wants her to be at the tree, Bast-damn it!) ("Now Jem, the best thing about Christmas trees, is that humans decorate it with a lot of toys for us to play with." "Okay Daddy!" "Tugger, they are made to be looked at, not played with!" "But the best part is knocking them off the tree!" "Tugger, do you want to be locked in the bathroom again?" "…No." "Jem don't listen to your father. We can climb it just don't knock the ornaments or the tree itself down." "Yes, mummy and aunty Demeter.")
-Demeter loves the tree because it's bright but also a new hidy spot if it's too much for her. When Munk is there both of them can be found curled up beneath the tree. The children also intentionally moved Bomba's favorite bed from it's normal spot of in front of one of the bedrooms to next to the tree. Jemima always naps in that bed too because of Bomba's scent (and Tugger's because he sleeps in that too. It's a big bed).
-When the grandmother and children, alongside the mothers, bake cookies, Tugger is being his annoying usual self of getting in the way, while Bomba and Jemima (Jem is following Bomba's example) are just watching and being allowed to smell some of the ingredients and the cookies. Sometimes Demeter joins them, making a three cat-pile with Jemima being in the middle. Munkustrap is watching from a far. (If you ever watch Jun's Kitchen on YouTube, then Bomba, Demeter and Jemima are being like Haku and Nagi. Just a bit less fluffy.)
-Presents are crinkly wrapping paper, and the cats will go after it, even Bomba and Jemima because they know (Bomba tells her) that the humans will throw away the paper afterwards so it's okay for them to play with it until they can't stand it anymore. All the cats begrudgingly allow the children to dress them up in cringy Christmas things, and somehow they can spectacularly pull them off amazingly. They're not going to tell the rest of the tribe though.
-It's a bit after Christmas that the four cats slip away back to the junkyard, to join into the preparations for the Jellicle Ball.
Honestly, it wouldn't leave me alone for the rest of the night. May write a story involving this.

Eric Forman: A Familial Analysis. During, but mostly beyond, the show.
Relationship with his Parents:
Eric is a firm Mama's boy, and Kitty tends to coddle him. She realizes, at some point, that she's doing more harm than good, and lets him advance to adulthood. And find himself, in this crazy, crazy world. He's still her baby boy, though.
Meanwhile, the relationship between Eric and Red is strained. They love and respect each other, largely, but they struggle to see eye to eye on a myriad of matters. Eric never feels as if he's good enough, and doesn't fit the mold of what a man (and a Forman) should be. As Laurie loses her way, and time inevitably elapses, though? Eric edges his way in as the favorite. But there's still that lingering tension beneath, if you will. Which explodes, post 9/11, as their ideological differences become nearly impossible to hide.
Relationship with his Siblings and Nephew:
Laurie: As a kid and a teen, she's the pesky, manipulative older sister, who only comes to Eric's aid if absolutely necessary. With Red being her main cheerleader. But as adulthood hits, she loses her way. She tries to come back into the fold, but continually fails, as she falls back into her old ways. And ends up abandoning her son Adrian, the kid she never really wanted, anyway. Eric is ashamed of his sister, for shirking such an important responsibility, and abandoning the whole family. And has a lot of ire for her, as the whole family steps up to pick up the pieces, and helps to raise Adrian.
Adrian: Eric's nephew, by blood, who Laurie abandoned. Adrian is by far the closest to Red, Hyde, and Eric, moreso than his own father, Fez. Who he sees as odd and outwardly effeminate. For Adrian, Eric isn't outwardly effeminate, and they both share some geeky hobbies. They like superhero movies, Star Wars, and video games. In turn, Eric tries his hardest to be a supplementary father figure, since his stupid, evil sister shirked her motherly duties.
Hyde: His adopted brother, and they were each other's best man. They have each others' backs, no matter what, even if they poke fun at each other sometimes. Whether Eric calls Hyde a frizzy-haired robot, or if Hyde mocks Eric's dad jokes.
Anyway, their kids are all kind of raised like cousins, but they let them know early on they're not technically related. So Eric's daughter Leah and Hyde's son James naturally take advantage of this, to Eric and Hyde's dismay (especially Eric's).
Jackie: Eric's adopted sister in-law. He has her back following the tailend of 1979, and they truly establish themselves as friends, as Eric is instrumental in helping Jackie and Hyde get back together. Well, the point of the mission is kind of selfish, in order to get the gang all back together again and to be seen as a leader and a hero because of his monumental efforts, but his heart is firmly in the right place. After all, he ultimately wants Jackie and Hyde to be happy together. Not truly pissed off, and firmly apart.
However, that friendship falls apart when Jackie establishes a firmly rocky relationship with Eric and Donna's daughter Leah in the mid-late 90s, and Eric is firmly on Leah's side.
Relationship with his Kids:
Kate: His pride. She's the perfect student, a social butterfly, and is involved in everything under the sun. The school paper, yearbook, volunteering, you name it. With her mom's will and smarts, her grandmother's optimism, her father's idealism, and…well, her father's insecurities and her grandfather's emotional hesitation (when it comes to love), what can possibly go wrong? She's good at hiding the bad stuff, though, and as far as Eric is aware? She's Rory Gilmore, or Topanga Lawrence, and she's his little lady and his little princess. And he's super proud of her, and hopes all her dreams will inevitably come to fruition.
Leah: His joy. The snarky, willful underdog, Leah is Daddy's little girl and his little rascal. But Leah, like Laurie, knows how to manipulate him. And wraps him around her little finger. He's somewhat aware (moreso than Red), but he willingly buries his head in the sand, and it drives Donna crazy. So, like Kate, Leah hides quite a bit from him, but her hidden struggles aren't quite as innocent.

daughter (age 22): her daughter with Sully
biography:
Eliza was born in Oxford, England to Simon and Charlotte de Vere (a wealthy art dealer and his socialite wife) on 3 November 1977. Being born into a wealthy family, neither of her parents were very affectionate to their daughter, and Eliza was raised essentially as an object to be pawned off to the highest bidder. It was absolutely archaic, as far as she was concerned, especially considering that her father still wished to choose (or at least control) who she was to marry one day, as if it were a business transaction. She, of course, refused to listen to her father, particularly as she grew into her teens and realised his true intentions with her was to try and use her to his advantage. She battled more than one attempted arranged marriage to some wealthy client’s son, and sometimes even an older, wealthy client himself. Needless to say, Eliza purposefully distanced herself from her parents the minute she was able to move out and go to university at nearly 18 years old.
Against her parents’ wishes, she chose to attend Oxford for music (specifically in opera performance). She had always had quite the musical talent ever since she was little, and took lessons in cello, piano, and voice as she was growing up. Most of the lessons her maternal grandparents actually paid for and supported her in, as her father found it all rather trivial. In fact, for most of her childhood Eliza would often run to her grandparents for the affection she craved from her parents. Her grandmother, who had been an opera singer as well, encouraged her in her love of music, and attended every performance she did in high school, university, and into her career. Both her maternal grandparents attended her performances until they passed away.
A year after she graduated from her Masters in Opera Performance, one year into her career, she met Frederick Sullivan on a cruise she decided to take over one of her holidays. She fell for him while she was on board, and they continued to speak over video calls or she would join him on an occasional trip. After a year of dating, they got married on the ship, where she decided to spend her time singing for a while, effectively putting her opera and theatre career on hold. She gave birth to their daughter a few months after her 25th birthday.
They stayed married for about 10 years, during which she and their daughter returned to land––mainly for her daughter to start school, but also for her to begin pursuing her career again. Their daughter was nine when they divorced. Towards the end of their marriage, her career in theatre and opera began to grow, and she began to become well known.
About 3 years after she and Sully divorced, she remarried at the age of 37 when her daughter was 12. Richard Littleton, the owner of a premier league football club in Tottenham, London. They met through her father, and he was nearly twenty years older than her, though he was charming and made her feel special. He loved her singing and had seen a few of the operas she had been in, and had experienced many of her musical theatre roles. However, that charm disappeared not long after their wedding. He started to give her backhanded compliments in front of his friends. He controlled what she wore, what she ate (which led to her previous eating disorder resurfacing), and how she acted in public. Eventually, the manipulation and emotional abuse turned into physical abuse as well, something she tried very hard to hide from her daughter.
The older her daughter got, though, the more she noticed what was happening. She eventually managed to get her mother to leave Rupert eight years into their marriage, not long after her mother gave birth to her twin siblings, two children Richard hadn’t even wanted. Eliza gained full custody of her children in the divorce––a rather messy one where the press often slandered her rather than her abusive cheater of a husband. Rather than staying in London where the press could continue to hound her about her divorce and Richard's numerous affairs that had come to light, she let her daughter convince her to move to Kismet Harbour, where her first ex-husband so happened to live.
