Talking about OCs post!

Daniel and Daniel (the Dannys): Twins that work on the moon station overlooking The World, alongside Yuri. Both of them present as male, and look almost identical, but one of them Did transition from their assigned birth gender (no one knows which one). And that's a side thing. Their main thing is that they're Yuri's direct assistant/task errand boy and they only recieve one salary, because only one of them actually joined the station in the first place (the other's application was denied). Other than Yuri, few people realize there are actually two of them, and they both constantly get mistaken for the other. Due to loving mischief they both are completely fine with this 👍 and encourage the chaos surrounding them because the observation station gets boring. they've both been there for as long as Yuri and Xena have. Danny tends to be a part of shenanigans even if they didn't start it.

Gawain: (working name for now) The accounting director. He is in charge of the observation station's funding aqcuisition and researcher salaries, and hasn't been seen by those outside the accounting division for the few hundred years he's been on the station. But recently he's been trying to change that! To fit in, not only is Gawain studying really hard about basic human interactions, but has also changed his form to look (what he thinks) the most pleasing to the eye. So he has blonde hair, green eyes, and if you didn't listen closely you'd think he was a womanizer and a playboy. If you look closely, you'd notice that while he chats people up (and seems to truly enjoy doing so), he never makes a move on others and keeps his hands and limbs politely to himself.

Millennium (Mimi): Mimi's the hardest to succinctly describe because she's more of a major character while also being incredibly minor. She was meant to be the protagonist of her own story before I firmly decided on Era's, but I retooled her while also keeping some of her original setting. So! Mimi is a ghost, she was brutally murdered, and she is currently stuck in Data (the embodiment)'s personal home server. Mimi originally hailed from a ~2000s like period on Era's planet, enjoyed computers, and had hardly begun learning their version of Basic before her untimely death 😔 So, newly minted ghost lands herself in the universe's most detailed database ran by the embodiment of actual data, and this ghost learnt how to play with more advanced machinery and code in 10 days with little to no prior exposure. what do u do. She's slated to become Data's girlfriend. Eventually. She's got a super bright and playful personality to contrast with Data's serious one 🥺 and creates super neat code with concise comments and emoticons scattered within. also super keen on vengeance but it happens really easily for her

Side note/setting for Era and Millennium's world while I'm here:

Naming habits on era's planet tend to place importance on chronology and keep time meticulously, and its not uncommon for parents to choose names based on the day their child was born, especially if it coincides with a large change in dates.

So era, originally born december 31st, xx99, is born at the end of an Era. Millennium, born the next day on january 1st, x000, is the beginning of a new Millennium. (and someone *really* messed up on writing the fates for this batch of new souls)

It's so funny when you get introduced to a franchise by it's weird spin-off series and then it becomes your basis for the franchise so then it becomes impossible to enjoy the mainline games because what the fuck do you mean Mega Man is a 2d platformer and not an isometric tactical role playing game

#fave spotting #ingrid pitt #the adventurer #itc #1973 #classic tv #double exposure #episode 20 in transmission order but among the first produced I assume; I'm following Network's dvd order in watching (almost certainly the #prod. order) but I'll refer to these eps by transmission order because im an awful dullard. yes‚ The Adventurer. truth be told‚ i saw a #single episode of this series quite a few years ago on Network's 50 yrs of ITC set and it didn't really inspire me to ever seek the rest #of the series out... but with Network's passing (rip forever in our hearts) I've found myself picking up some titles I'd held off on bc of #the very real possibility that a series like this may never see another commercial release. the guest star spots were enough for me to #swing for this once i found it cheap enough (and i had to hunt bc I wasn't paying a lot for something i was fairly certain would be bad) #and... it isn't great. it isn't as bad as i expected either. it's ok. Gene Barry's lead character (the imaginatively named Gene Bradley) is #a truly absurd character: he's a world famous film star who also happens to be the greatest secret agent‚ and of course a successful #business man (also ace pilot‚ award winning racing driver‚ peerless sportsman etc etc etc). that he's played by a visibly tired looking 50 #something Gene B is another thing entirely (as is Gene's... variable performance; reputedly a nightmare on set‚ who was hated by co stars #writers and directors alike‚ he also insisted on idiot boards to read his lines from). ITC‚ having spent record amounts of money making The #Persuaders at the start of the decade‚ were attempting something of an economy drive at this point; thus the switch back to 25 minute eps #after 50 had become their standard‚ as well as now shooting on cheaper (and inferior) 16mm film instead of 35mm; by the by that's why these #images are relatively awful. shot on cheap stock‚ and never undergoing the same revival of interest as other contemporary itc shows‚ The #Adventurer presumably languished in film cans somewhere and network appear to have done little to nothing in terms of restoration on the #series‚ with it looking far worse than any of their other itc releases. but then i suppose it was always going to be a niche release..

hi I like yelling silly little life updates into the silly little void so here we go

I'm leaving for my internship thing on Monday (slay) and my last three weeks have consisted of 1. Finals (best semester since i started college thank u curves and nice teachers for boosting me), 2. Socializing, 3. Medical appointments (my eyes have gotten worse but I'm good otherwise) and 4. Prepping for my trip

And. This past week. I have had a cold, of all things, which is not good timing because I'm trying to finalize and get stuff done and was not understanding why I couldn't focus AND I was on my period but now it's a bit better I have entered the "expelling fluids" phase where I feel fine but the symptoms persist. Chilling.

So trip prep has included setting up my new laptop because the other broke during finals week, the keyboard started malfunctioning and the repair date was past when I would leave so new laptop ended up being the only option (which is nice) but I have to manually set up all my bookmarks still because I forgot my Firefox sync password and that will take a couple hours probably (last I went through and organized them it took a whole day)

And then excessive amounts of laundry that are still not done, realizing I lack more than 1 field work outfit and having to go to REI too many times to finish the pack list. Although a closet clean out was done and I'm satisfied with where the personal style development is headed I like my clothes.

But that's done so now I just have to. Pack.

And then my travel request for a conference got approved (!!) When it was expected to take until like, July so now I'm trying to finalize and coordinate stuff earlier than expected! But that is welcome that is good.

And I also got accepted to Job B which doesn't actually pay but is very few hours so I'm doing the tutoring and the mentoring both and hopefully not going insane! Might drip volunteering if I need to which reminds me I need to email them! okay!

I might not decide to but I need to look hot when I do <3 #and I habitually change several times a day sometimes #if I'm not vibing with the fit my mood is off #And I'm not having that this summer #The objectives are: career/academic development / new friends / make out with at least one person / be hit on / eat good food / go dancing #I will be outside for the internship and I am looking to develop some muscles and some sun exposure and a short-lived social network #I have set up the rest of my year in the last couple weeks mentally shaking my own hand

100 notes on your art is theoretically 100 people seeing your art maybe even just 50 people if we assume they all like and reblog….. thats about the number of people that would be at a local show give or take like that is 50 to 100 individual human beings caring enough to let you know that they liked your work

#had an art exhibit last sem with max 60 people in attendance including my peers #sometimes i think about how social media has really skewed the expectations artist should have in regards to their work and exposure #its just ao crazy to me that people are EXPECTING 1000 notes/rts/hits or whatever when like. thats 1000 people #i dont even think i can name 1000 people in my life who i talk to actively #but also yknow exposure is important i get that but like exposure only gets you so far like you have to network and talk to people to make #to make exposure worthwhile #idk im just frustrated recently seeing a lot of artist be disillusioned by how hard making art your job is #its unfortunately not just posting ur art and leaving. its actually a lot of talking and reaching out #so in the mean time apprecaite that 50 people saw your art and loved it idk idk idk #thoughts in my brain

i'm not karl neg, i actually follow a lot of accounts that like him but i've been offput by some of the things he's done recently so never post about him the way i once did.

Especially after being burned by other CCs you're allowed to be wary about decisions he's made. I think it's good to remember that Karl has always interacted with a wide spread of people, including ones that have been cruel or critical of the dream team and ones that have been positive toward them.

The main thing that has changed is just that nowadays he's not publicly interacting as much with snf as he is with other groups, and almost nobody is positive publicly toward them.
