Femme for femme what? Violence? Action? A thoughtful, intense reflection a la Sondheim on Sondheim? Did our original Query authors help with this one?

I’m fairly typically feminine (in a wacky librarian sort of way) and I’m attracted to and partnered with a tough gal tomboy, but it’s not like it’s a rule. There are plenty of girlie-girls in love and in bed together, and plenty of butch couples and plenty of androgynous comfy-clothes who the hell cares lesbian partnerships too. Presenting ‘femme for femme’ as a question for discussion makes it sound like there’s a right (aka heteronormative) way for lesbians to partner up and have sex, which is ridiculous and outdated and smacks of ‘so which one of you is the man?’ bullshit.

Also it reminds me of 90s disco novelty act Fem2Fem and their ‘hit’ Switch, which let us all imagine being “femme in the streets, butch in the sheets’. Mostly, don’t limit yourself. Sex is good. Respect yourself, find a partner who respects you, then have fun!
