Anyone ever think about the idea that the mimic is mimicking what it did to gregory before being trapped?
probably, I'm sure I'm not the only person to think about this. but am I going to talk about it anyway? absolutely. Okay so basically.. a couple of the mimic's voicelines are copy-pasted from Security Breach, right? While this is the first time we've seen the mimic copy anyone before, I believe most of his voicelines do come from somewhere. Sorry, that sounds vague. What I mean by that is I don't believe everything the mimic says is 100% a lie it created. For example a lot of people joke about the mimic being more whiny when pretending to be Gregory. Joking about how it's the biggest red flag because Gregory was never really that scared in Security Breach. But did it really just come up with that on its own? What if it's mimicking Gregory in the state he was in when he left? What if Gregory was that scared when dealing with the mimic? And it's not just that, I think some voicelines actually give a bit of hint to this too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Help! Something grabbed me! It won't let me go!" I feel like this line and others like it may actually describe what the mimic did. The way Gregory refers to the mimic as "that thing," and the only other 'thing' it could be pretending to be afraid of is the blob, which already tunneled out by the time Cassie gets here. And while the mimic isn't the best at keeping its story straight.. (Claiming to be running/hiding from Roxy while it's trapped under the sinkhole, though I believe that could be him trying to cover up the real Gregory attempting to speak to her, regaining control of the situation. After all if that voice line was the mimic why would Roxy run in the opposite direction of the walkie talkie to go chase him?) I feel like if the mimic was pretending it was the blob that grabbed him, he wouldn't also admit that it tunneled out later on. (I'll get to that don't worry.) Sure, this is a fabricated lie to lure Cassie, but my point is, what story is the mimic trying to create here? What is the mimic trying to claim happened to it/Gregory? I was going to bring these screenshots up later, but..
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Original screenshot + edited version to see the handprint better.) The handprint on the vent outside where the mimic is trapped, with Gregory's backpack underneath it, if you haven't seen theories about it already it seems to clearly imply Gregory lured the mimic in through the vent, that's his handprint. Why I'm bringing this up here though, that handprint looks bloody, doesn't it? Maybe it's just me, maybe it's just the lighting, but I feel like that looks more like a bloody/liquid stain smear than a smear of dust or something. So what if what happened was what the mimic described? It grabbed Gregory, and didn't let him go, causing his arms to get stabbed through and bleed after he escaped through the vent. (If you can't picture what I'm saying or just want a cool visual of this happening, go see this post it's cool and basically shows what I'm talking about, I only thought of this detail because of their post, also the art is cool.)
Anyway, moving on..
Tumblr media
"That thing is here again. I gotta hide. Save me."
What if getting the mimic to that specific room wasn't all of the luring Gregory had to do? What if he periodically had to deal with being chased/hunted by the mimic while trying to get it to follow him to that area of the pizzaplex? (This is probably the most speculation, there's not a lot you can get from this line, but it's still a cool idea I think.) OR, an alternate take.. The mimic is being interrupted by the real Gregory's attempts to reach Cassie, and the mimic is using this opportunity as an excuse while it attempts to block his signal. (I've theorized about the differences between each speaking a bit before, but basically, I find it notable that the only times the real Gregory seems to get through to Cassie is when the mimic is busy/distracted/unavailable. So the mimic likely has to make an active effort to block his attempts, hence why he ends up using other signals to try to reach her, like the hacked staff bot. Again this is heavy speculation, but I find it interesting if he's basically telling the story in real-time and sort of swapping him and Gregory.)
Overall there's not a lot you can gather out of this line that I haven't already mentioned in the previous one, so let's move on.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Something tunneled out.. broke everything. Now I'm stuck here!"
Before I go over this, take it with a grain of salt. Yes I think this is him referring to the blob tunneling out, causing the 'earthquake' that broke the pizzaplex to the state it's in when Cassie arrives. Considering the tunnel in the sinkhole and seeing the blob in a tunnel early in the game, this adds up. However.. I think there might be a double meaning here. It's a bit of a reach, but what if it's also referring to Gregory a bit here? "Something tunneled out," it's implied Gregory used the vent (sort of a tunnel) to escape the room the mimic is trapped in. "Broke everything," ruined the mimic's plans. "Now I'm stuck here," well, that's self explanitory. Gregory used the vent to escape, ruined the mimic's plans, and trapped it there. I also find it interesting this seems to be the final time the mimic mentions something else down there with it. (Even during its final pleas in Roxy Raceway, it only says "Save me, it's so dark down here." Nothing about that "thing" putting him in danger.) Do I think this line is specifically the mimic talking about Gregory? No, I think its main purpose is to explain where the blob went. But I do think it's possible there's a double meaning to it, intentional or not..
Like I said that's the last line of dialogue where the mimic mentions something else down there with it, so there's not a lot more to talk about. My biggest points and evidence were in the beginning tbh, it probably would've been best to cover it at the end of this post but I wanted to go over the voice lines in chronological order to when they appear in-game. I know some of the stuff I said is reaching a bit, I'm not 100% confident that'd be the correct interpretation.. but it's something to think about, that's my point. Whether I'm right or wrong I think the theory is worth considering. If you read this far, that's cool, I hope this was entertaining or had some kind of value to you. I like writing analysis stuff like this so it's always nice when other people enjoy it too. :)

-cracks knuckles- ALRIGHT. TIME TO HYPER-ANALYZE THE RUIN DCA IN THE NEW POSTER AND GARNER INFORMATION THAT IS COMPLETELY FALSE PROBABLY
Tumblr media
so. many things of note here.
THE DESIGN CHANGED. CRACK DOWN BELOW THE EYE THAT WAS NOT THERE BEFORE, MOON'S COLORATION ON FACE RATHER THAN SUNS (ALTHOUGH THIS MAY JUST BE LIGHTING?)
YOU CANNOT SEE MOON'S SIDE OF THE FACE. ONLY MOON'S EYE IS LIT. THIS IMPLIES MOON HAS A HIGHER DEGREE OF CONTROL THAN SUN DOES- IN FACT, A LOT OF THIS IMPLIES MOON HAS MORE CONTROL THAN SUN??
the hands i could go on for years about the hands the way they're posed his fingers are tucked he's in such a non-aggressive stance please let him be friend shaped please steel wool come o
THEIR LEGS ARE BENT A LIL, LIKE HE'S TRYING TO BALANCE DESPITE THE LACK OF A FOOT ON ONE LEG (how is he MOVING how is he doing that i wanna see that animated so bad)
WE WERE RIGHT, HALF OF THEIR TORSO DOES APPEAR TO BE MISSING!! THEIR LOWER TORSO IS NOT USUALLY THAT THIN, ITS USUALLY SOMEWHAT EQUAL TO THEIR CHEST
CRINOLINE IN THE PANTS!!! YOU CAN SEE IT NEAR THE BOTTOM
OTHER LEG APPEARS FINE??? SO THERE'S THAT AT THE LEAST
WE STILL HAVE NOT SEEN THE REST OF MOON'S HAT THOUGH THE DCA IS NOW LACKING IN BELLS FROM THE LOOKS OF IT
LEG ENDOSKELETON IS CONSIDERABLY THICK IN WIDTH? NOT SURE WHY BUT THAT IS AN INTERESTING TIDBIT CONSIDERING ITS WIDER THAN THEIR FOREARM
I AM LOSING MY MIND. /pos
SO. SO HYPE FOR JULY 25TH IT CANNOT COME FAST ENOUGH. THE BOYS HAVE RETURNED

Maybe this is a hot take but I don’t think Monty would be a jealous lover. IDK I just feel like it’s not very well-supported by the text other than the /assumption/ that that Monty killed Bonnie* and that he wants to replace Freddy**.
And based on what we see of his behavior in Security Breach, it’s fair to assume that Monty also isn’t a mean animatronic. While Roxanne’s words become downright mean as the game goes on (showing that her insecurities can lead to her being hurtful even though it’s not how she treats/thinks of others 90% of the time), Monty’s lines still mostly take on a reassuring tone even though it’s evident that he’s growing frustrated. And no, I don’t view taking one’s anger/frustration out on inanimate objects is inherently a sign of aggressive behavior towards others.
*Ruin and Help Wanted 2 have made it clear that the exact circumstances of Bonnie being decommissioned are incredibly suspicious as well as the narrative around it that Security Breach established (ie, the idea that Monty did it).
**People usually cite the Freddy cutout that’s halfway in a trash bin at the end of Monty Gator Golf ride, but it’s more likely that this was more foreshadowing to the headless Freddy prototype (same with Freddy’s body and head being separated by Monty’s music whirlwind immediately after).

HW2, SB, RUIN ANALYSIS: MIMIC VS AFTON
alright, I've noticed quite a bit of discussion about glitchtrap & burntrap and if they're William or the mimic, so I've decided to share my own thoughts on the matter as I personally believe that all 3 are meant to be the mimic. This will be in two sections: burntrap itself, and then glitchtrap and mimic together as my thoughts on the both of them are a tad intertwined.
BURNTRAP
I've seen people discussing Burntraps role in this mess and at least a couple of those discussions included comparing his design and behaviour with the mimics. I don't think using those as evidence is all that reliable for multiple reasons.
First and Foremost, the burntrap ending isn't canon. Due to this, it's unclear if burntrap was even real in the first place so using him as evidence is difficult to begin with.
Secondly, you have to remember that security breach was an unwillingly rushed product and the burntrap ending might not have been what they had hoped. Not only this, but in Ruin it was clear that they changed things at least a little as the princess quest ending was switched to be canon and the burntrap ending no longer canon if the comic strip collectibles and princess quest references are to be believed. Knowing this, it's very much possible that they could've made any number of changes in an effort to salvage the rushed & buggy mess of a game and attach it to the kind of story they actually want to tell as cleanly as possible. This makes Burntraps existence even more dubious and unreliable for use as evidence.
Finally: even if burntrap did exist, it's pretty easy to label it as the mimic even with the rabbit scraps and guts. The mimic has a tendency to wear mascot costumes, and one of the most recent book prologues focused on the fact that the mimic will wear the suit even if something/someone else is inside if there's no sound or movement to alert it. With this in mind...what if the Mimic found the remains of the springtrap suit under the pizzaplex and attempted to wear it, unaware of the corpse bits inside? If it had done so, then it would make sense for the bot to be covered in springscraps and corpse chunks!
With all of this in mind, it is very much possible for burntrap to either not exist at all or to be the mimic!
-
MIMIC AND GLITCHTRAP
So for this last section, I wanna start with the obvious question: who is the mimic mimicking in the game universe? The story we're given in the book universe is that its mimicking its creator, who lost his wife, made the bot for his remaining child, and then brutalized it after losing the remaining child and going into a grief-fueled rage due to the bot still mimicking said child. Now usually the characters in more important stories like this one are stand-ins for characters in the game-verse.
We know 2 characters missing a wife and children, but Henry wasn't a violent or aggressive person in his grief, nor was he constantly disguising himself in a costume...which leaves William. Williams funtime bots had mimicry functions, this a fact that's given to us early on. As for the wife and child, Williams wife appeared to have left him early on and he lost both of his youngest children, crying child and Elizabeth, not long before/after this. William was also constantly wearing the springbonnie suit, as it was incredibly precious to him for multiple reasons.
Mimic being an afton creation then makes sense with this information. It would have been created sometime in-between those losses, possibly at the same time as the funtimes. Then after a child's death, likely Elizabeth's since she seemed to be the one he was closest with, the bot is brutalized and/or abandoned in a place where it was able to see Williams cruel deeds. Then, after the death of both freddys owners, fazbear entertainment would of course collect & salvage what they could, which would include the mimic bot. According to the books, the Mimic program was also used for the other bots and various entertainment tech in the pizzaplex.
From the tapes in Help Wanted, we can also infer that the mimic program was in the mysterious circuit boards provided to the programming team and was also used in the vr game as well as their other vr tech from what we see in help wanted 2. Why the mimic takes the form of glitchtrap? Because it's mimicking it's creator, who was always dressed in a rabbit mascot suit. It may also be safe to assume that the mimic took control of the maskbot seen in ruin as well, considering the hw2 mask bot ending and the roughly made rabbit ears on the bot that may or may not have been added by the controlled nightmare staffbots.
My final note is answering the question: how was Vanessa controlled by it then? From the poster in hw2 and the masks security mechanics in ruin, I believe that using the mask was part of the security job and the mimic had taken control of the VANNI mask & MXES program before the princess quest ending, so it swiftly takes over and controls Vanessa once she wears the mask. This would explain why she seemed like her normal, annoyed self for most of the game only for her behaviour to change drastically as Vanny.
-
Conclusion: Williams malice may still live on, but only in the form of programmed mimicry. William himself is gone, the aftons story is over and the pizzaplex saga is a whole new chapter for fazbear entertainment. I think it's best to accept this new story and stop trying to bring William back from the dead.
Edit: misremembered the mimic backstory and tweaked the analysis with the correct information

A thing that I love about FNAF as an artist with an obsession with colour theory is how FNAF managed to make yellow the colour of grief, danger and hope at the same time.
Sure in public we use yellow for warning symbols, but rarely do we use it in horror.
Green is a colour of rot and decay, blue is a freezing cold with no hint of warmth, purple the colour of a sinister shadow, red for blood, orange for grime and pumpkins... but Yellow? You could say the shine of the moon or a wasp, but it could just as easily be the sun or a bumble bee.
It's a colour grounded in positivity and the brighter it is, the harder it is to recontextualise it as something horrific. FNAF manages to grab this yellow and turn its positive reputation into something sickly. An innocent joy twisted to hide decades worth of history and suffering. The mere sight of something yellow raises our hairs with anticipation of what it could mean. Is it HIM or is it something positive? The bridge between this being the fredbear plush of FNAF 4, a constant image we're hesitant to seek comfort from until the very end, Ironically right after it proves to be fatal.
And then at the same time it proves to be comforting, such as in princess quest where the yellow light is the only thing keeping the purple monsters at bay.
Idk I've got dishes to wash. I just love how this franchise has colours with double meanings

so anyway i've been thinking about this random topic for like 10 minutes and i've decided its ready to share with the world
You could argue that each of the FNAF games (bar AR and FNAF world, probably) are about a specific character.
FNaF 1 is... well. Okay. I'm starting out on a bad one here. It's the first game and nothing's been established yet-- but honestly you could say it's about the Missing Kids as a singular entity. That's how they're often treated, anyway. 'The Missing Kids who died, and then there's these characters...', so FNAF 1 is about Susie, Fritz, Jeremy, Gabriel, and Cassidy, as a singular entity, a single event.
Then FNAF 2 is about Charlie. As far as I remember, 3/4 minigames feature her (Leading the player character around the diner, giving gifts/life to the children, then of course her own death scene, part one. Foxy Go Go Go is the outlier, I think), and then there's that one cutscene you can get where it shows that Charlie was in the FNAF 1 location. 2 is about Charlie.
3 is about William, that much is obvious. He's the only actual character, and his death is highlighted.
Fnaf 4 is uh. Even more obvious. Between nights you get a cutscene, counting down to The Party, featuring the 'crying child'. It's pretty clearly about Evan Afton.
With Sister Location, you could argue that it's Michael, but I'd say the focus is on Elizabeth. Again, we see her death, and she talks a lot in here. She's initially shown to be kinder, though that is a ruse, and there's a lot of focus on her character. So, Sister Location is about Elizabeth.
With Pizzeria Simulator, you could again say that it's about Michael, but I'd say it's Henry's lol. The Big Speech is from him, and there's a bit of a focus on his relationship with his daughter, Charlie. He talks to her directly, and her death is once again shown. He made the robots, and this is his Big Plan. So I think it's about Henry.
UCN is Cassidy, because... yeah. Because it's her torture chamber and she's The One You Should Not Have Killed.
As for Help Wanted and Security Breach, they're about the characters you play as, since the focus is put on them. Vanessa and Gregory, respectively.
Michael, on his own, doesn't get a game, but I'd say the main series of 1 thru 6 is about him. Just... all six of em, as a whole. The games themselves focus on specific entities, but the story they all tell revolves around Michael and his journey to stop his father. So Michael,, his story is the games.
Idk what I'm talking about anymore. I stayed up all night to be sure I'd catch the Splatoon direct. I'm fucking tired. New Splatoon idols Shiver, Frye, and Big Man are bouncing around my head and leaving room for little else.

ok, i've seen a lot of debate on this and i just want to put in my two cents real quick!
explaining my reasoning for why i think sun is seeing us as a child and not an adult in help wanted 2
(aka. world's most incoherent sun analysis)
to preface; no hate at all to people that want to think of this differently! everyone will have different perceptions of help wanted 2 and that is fine!! i understand the upset about the changes to suns character and i hold no grudge against people that dislike the ruder portrayals of sun!
this is just my personal beliefs and analysis i've made!
hello hello! i apologize if this is incoherent, this was originally written on discord and i'm just pasting it in and formatting it for tumblr!
i am open to discussion on this, but PLEASE be nice (and use tone tags!!)
"Bad kid, bad kid! I'm putting you in timeout!" "You stay in timeout until your parents arrive!" - sun, help wanted 2
these two lines. are INCREDIBLY significant to this and why i think there is just literally no way he's seeing us as an adult at all!
why on EARTH would sun pull the time-out line if we're an adult? why in the world would he refer to 'your parents', why would he call us 'bad kid'? sun has the capability and sense to recognize an adult when he sees one, and honestly i feel like sun would be more polite to staff than this! not out of genuine respect, no- out of genuine fear. a common argument i see is 'maybe he's being mean because it's a training thing with a staff member playing the role of a child', but this circles right back to the point that sun would not be a bitch in front of staff. he is smarter than that, that is a speedrun to a whole world of shit for him and i DOUBT he'd want that. keep in mind sun is an actor, he knows how to throw on a little show and pretend for the eyes of someone he'd need to pretend for i think what we see in help wanted 2 isn't a VR version of sun, it's not him being a bitch to staff- i don't think sun ever had the balls to be rude to staff, knowing his life is in their hands- i think this is just. who he REALLY is. like that is sun, at his core, before it all went horribly HORRIBLY wrong. keep in mind the first time we saw sun was at his worst. his worst point mentally, the most scared he's been in his life (barring RUIN, he was also pretty fucking scared in that- but in some way he had hope. he knew how to fix this, he just needed someone to help him. there was NO hope for him in SB, he was totally at moon's mercy), paranoid out of his mind and desperately fighting against moon. we CANNOT take that as a representation of who sun is, who he REALLY is when he's not out of his fucking mind scared. sun in HW2 is casual, he is calm- only a little afraid, when nap time draws near, but not 'standing on the desk losing his fucking mind clawing his face yelling about lights on and why would we, a small child, do that' afraid which is a significant difference! he even THREATENS us with nap time, showing that he's clearly a lot calmer and in his right mind- he is lax and well. i think this is, again, evidence that this is just who sun really is i understand why people don't want that to be true!! i understand why people want to believe that maybe sun isn't as rude as this- and honestly, i don't think he always is that rude!! i think we're still missing vital pieces to who sun really is beyond the mortal terror, we have not seen him in his theatre days still but help wanted 2 is the first time we have EVER seen sun calm and not acting like the world will explode if moon exists for even a second. and that is so incredibly significant in the portrayal and discussion of his character and personality and with the context that sun is an actor and designed for theatre- there's also reasonable proof to theorize that maybe his daycare persona, the way he acts in security breach before you go behind the counter, is a performance. he overblows it and goes WAY over the top. y'know. like a stage persona. i think part of it is being conditioned to act that way by his environment, yes!! but i also think that a lot of it is acting. note how he starts on what resembles a stage in SB, making a grand entrance as if walking out as a performer. note his dialogue in help wanted 2 (and listen closely!! pay attention to what he says, the circumstances of it all!!). note his mental state in security breach and parallel that to HW2. note the details. you might notice something new about our beloved jesters!
tldr; sun isn't being an ass because we're an adult, that's just how he is, even WITH the kids!! HW2 is the truest, closest representation to who sun is that we have ever had and we cannot use SB or RUIN as a representation of sun's genuine personality due to the circumstances he's in at the time and his behavior likely being incited by paranoia and it may potentially be a performance sun is putting on.
i don't think sun is a sweet sunshine boy (i do not have any issues with people that do want to see him this way though!), i think sun is a multi-faceted and flawed person, and that is so incredibly interesting!

I was reading the tales from the pizzaplex books and...
(Spoilers for the books and The DLC)
HOLY FUCK Gregory has a kill count of AT LEAST 4 people, and thats not counting the assassination attempts on the animatronics and Cassie
this kid is apparently a great hacker, and he is also willing to murder people and even his friends as we've seen with Tony and Cassie
ya'll...
I really like Gregory as a character, but its literally impossible that he is not evil orrrrrr (a theory I like better since i feel like Gregory is a pretty cool kid) he could be controlled like how Vanessa is in game, I am definitely leaning more into that he is controlled because he is genuinely clueless in game about many animatronic things like the endos, but in the books, more specifically in the GGY story, it mentions how Gregory had or has a security-like play pass to enter the pizzaplex when he wants so he most definitely has explored the Pizzaplex before the game and probably has control over freddy since in game, freddy's eyes go white/yellowish after Gregory appears and in the books it mentions Freddy with white eyes following Tony around
Also Gregory has so many parallels to Vannessa
Anyway idk I'm just theorizing but I still wanted to post this just in case

it's really interesting that, at least in 2014-2015 when i was into fnaf initially the strongest, Toy Bonnie was regarded with SO much vitriol. In headcanons, he was usually snarky or smug or a cunty bitch and genuinely I think it has to do with a) his game mechanic taking a LONG time admittedly (compared to other vent animatronics), which is something people definitely noticed even if they didn't actively perceive the thought "oh his attack is longer and also the time varies", and it's ALSO why he's usually in the top 5 most common jumpscares. even if we don't actually pick up on any of this consciously, it could explain why a lot of people hate him and claim to not know why. also hes a boy wearing makeup but that is a topic for a whole different post (but it also heavily plays into the fanon reading of toy bonnie)
