I've started working the AiW blog again and it's getting me nostalgic for Peter Pan and the Pirates.

I desperately need to get my ass in gear and work on those projects too. I have some stuff I'd like to scan from my personal collection and I've made a couple purchases that I'd like to share as well.

Thinking of doing a watchthrough of the show like I'm doing with AiW and post artwork as I go along. It probably wouldn't be as frequent since it feels like the Wonderland Watchthrough is a full-time investment (on top of my real full time job), but I'd still like to do it. It's been decades since I've seen some of those episodes. Plus I feel like this fandom could use a boost too.

I'm also considering posting what I have of my PP&P fic. I've been knocking it around since 2010 (or before, I can't remember when I came up with the idea for it, it's been so long) and I think it's a good enough concept to share at least. Maybe fan encouragement will get me to actually develop it. *shrug*

Alright, I’m curious… For my fellow fans of the traditional Captain Hook (not OUAT’s Killian), what was it about the character that initially drew you in? Which version first caught your attention? At what point did you look at him and go, “Okay, yup, adding this guy to my list of favs”?

For me, it was when I first watched the Disney film around age 12. In particular, I think it was the scene following the events at Skull Rock when Hook is sick in his cabin that really got to me. We don’t often see scenes in the earlier hand-drawn Disney films that show the villain in a sympathetic light. But Hook? In that moment, he was very broken, very human. And I was intrigued. I read Barrie’s novel shortly thereafter and found that the original character was also interesting and complex. Before long, I was checking out any new form of Peter Pan media I could get my hands on…and the rest is history!

ATTENTION HOOK FANS!! I NEED YOUR ASSISTANCE!!

Been debating for awhile about doing a compare/contrast of various Hooks’ cabins and ships and what it says about them as an individual. I definitely want to include Isaacs, Hoffman, and Disney, as those are usually the three most well-known versions of the character. Might also include Fox’s Hook and Jude Law’s recent interpretation of the character. HOWEVER… I’m gonna need A LOT of stills to do this properly and it may take me awhile to get them all together. To that end…if any of you have any high resolution images of either specific details on the outside of the Jolly Roger (close-ups of things like figureheads, bulwarks, etc.) or images with a decent look at the background inside Hook’s cabin for any of these versions, please send them my way.

For me, every version of Peter Pan is different. For example, Disney's Peter - tsundere. This type of boys can often not recognize romantic feelings towards someone. At the same time, he is not afraid to make a malicious joke, even without malicious intent. He is the most hot-tempered and emotional, so for me he is a tsundere.

Peter in "once upon a time" is more like Yandere. This type of guy can easily commit murder for love. If we take into account the fact that Peter Pan is a negative character in this version, then he is ideally suited to the Yandere type.If he was in love with Wendy, then his feelings would be expressed exactly as they usually happen with yandere characters. I decided to use one of Junji Ito's drawings as a reference to emphasize the ambiguity of his personality. (I apologize if it didn't turn out too similar drawn.)

Peter from The Adventures of Peter Pan(PETER PAN NO BOUKEN) is more like dere dere, since for the most part he treats her very carefully and tenderly. Despite the fact that he is a little silly, he tries to give in to Wendy and do everything to make her smile. And besides, of all the versions, this Peter is the kindest and funniest (for me personally) I'm sorry if I drew it too feminine

Peter Pan from Fox is more suitable for this type of Кamidere.When watching the series, I noticed that he has a pretty high self-esteem. It's not that other versions of Peter Pan didn't suffer from this, it's just that in the Fox Kids version it was vividly emphasized. Such types suffer from a God complex, often overestimating the demands on themselves and others, but despite his arrogance, this Peter does not hesitate to show his best side (especially in front of Wendy, with whom he is secretly in love).
