Together we can STOP Child Labour! 🛑✋

Child labour is a violation of human rights and can have detrimental effects on the physical, mental, spiritual, moral, or social development of children.

It often involves long hours, dangerous working conditions, and little or no pay. Children who are forced to work like slaves and often denied the opportunity to attend school and receive an education, which can lead to a lifetime of poverty and hardship. 🏫

Child labour can also perpetuate the cycle of poverty and social inequality. Therefore, it is important to stop child labour to protect children and promote their well-being.

Note: All work done by children under the age of 15 and dangerous work done by children under the age of 18 is illegal.

Child labour exists because: ⇾ People accept it and often invent excuses for it. ⇾ Children’s rights are not accepted. Governments fail to provide compulsory, free, and accessible education. ⇾ International agreements and conventions are ignored. ⇾ The education system fails to include poor and vulnerable children. ⇾ Companies worldwide demand cheap labour. ⇾ Countries can benefit from cheap labour. ⇾ Children are a soft target for a helping hand. ⇾ We have not done enough to stop it.

WHAT THE CAMPAIGN PROMOTES AND PIN POINTS TO CERTAIN CRITERIA -

We Protect vulnerable people from trafficking and exploitation. Human trafficking is an organised criminal activity that deceives and coerces people into modern slavery.

The vast majority of victims trafficked into sexual exploitation are vulnerable women and girls, robbed of their freedom and dignity.

In the Asia-Pacific, workers also face the horrors of forced labour, child labour and exploitation, particularly in the garment industry.

Tearfund has a deep compassion for the oppressed and a yearning for justice. We believe the exploitation of poor and vulnerable people is a gross injustice that must be confronted.

Human trafficking is a massive violation of human rights, as the perpetrators are holding a human being in captivity and forcing them to work against their will. Everybody should do what they can to eradicate this issue from modern society.

Through our partners on the ground, we:

Help to protect people vulnerable from trafficking and worker exploitation by running empowerment and education programmes.

Assist authorities to investigate criminal networks behind trafficking and slavery.

Work with local law enforcement to prosecute traffickers, preventing more people from becoming enslaved.

Give survivors a safe place to heal, recover and restore their dignity through rehabilitation and supported reintegration.

Effective public awareness and outreach efforts can lead to the detection of human trafficking cases, build public support for governments and communities to act, and ultimately help prevent human trafficking.

Freedom cannot be ‘had’ … to ‘have’ there must be someone to possess and that someone is the false self, who is NOT real and must ‘dissolve for Freedom to be ‘known’. What can be ‘had’ can be taken away and Freedom is ever-Present - IT is Who YOU ‘are’ [the ONE SELF]. Freedom is the ‘Awareness’ of the SELF YOU are ‘by’ the SELF.

It is common for the false self, when it begins to acquire a little spiritual ‘knowledge’ [not the same as Awareness, which it is incapable of] to begin ‘teaching’ and pontificating to others [there ‘are’ no others’]. This is the meaning of “the blind leading the blind”, which has been epidemic since the original ‘fall of consciousness’, and keeps the dog of ‘ignorance’ chasing its tail endlessly. The Free do not ‘preach’ … they ‘point’ to who you are NOT so that the Real YOU can be revealed by the desolation of illusions. More than anything the Free are simply an ‘example’ of Truth. One can ‘feel’ Peace, Joy and Love in their Presence without explanations.

Traffickers have adapted to online platforms including social media, marketing sites, and matrimonial/dating webpages to recruit victim and attract them.

Make sure you set strict privacy settings and beware of strange friend request. Beware of fake advertisements and avoid sharing it among your social groups. Educate yourself from warning signs of trafficking and don’t forget to raise an alarm. 🛑

There are several ways to stop human trafficking, including: 👉Increasing law enforcement efforts to identify and prosecute traffickers. 👉Providing support and resources for victims of trafficking, such as shelter, counselling, and job training. 👉Educating the public about the warning signs of trafficking and how to report it. 👉Strengthening international cooperation to combat trafficking across borders. 👉Addressing the root causes of trafficking, such as poverty and lack of opportunities such as education, employment, and skills.

Working all together in a concerted way on a local and international platform with survivors on prevention, detection, and response efforts, we together can stop trafficking of women and girls around the world for good.
