my labor of love with the two heads im doing is doing it one eyelash at a time bc i KNOW i fuck up at painting lashes on. so i have to wait like a half hour or more for things to fully dry so if i fuck up i dont have to redo like 3 lashes at once

#I’m designing another character at this point #I might scrap it. I’m not sure. ugh. it’s a frustrating process. #ANYWAY #Tammy looked so different before #and honestly!!! fry was such a miracle because their design was straight from my head with no changes #and they turned out great in my opinion #love Fry they’re my sweet burger beast #HOWEVER. Tammy was frustrating #a lot of thought and ideas and movie watching went into her design #lots of different skin color ideas!! I was going to make her blue. then I made her grey. white. and for some god forsaken reason I #considered pink #which that rocks when it works but. it doesn’t work for them. #I was very conflicted with her color palette. there are MANYYY concept drawings that I could show possibly? not sure. maybe. #she was white black and red at one point and then I thought that doesn’t feel at all like ‘zombie’ #so I changed it again. #the two consistent themes I really wanted in her character #is that she is constantly tired and that she has a punkish or ratty/messy look #(and. maybe some Inspo pertaining to Garth from Wayne’s World) #not sure if that shows. more so just the hairstyle #BUT ANYWAY #with her skin I decided to go for a more patchy and infected look #because.. they’re a zombie #and I need patchy and infected skin zombie representation!!! #(be the change you want I suppose) #I was also hung up on if her palatte was too similar to Lord Dominator’s (blacks greens reds) but I think it works out here #slapped on a Rated R design because horror movies are typically R Rated and yup :) Tammy #I like her!! she!! was!! frustrating!! to!! make!! but hey!! not as angering as this current character I’m trying to figure out #and CERTAINLY not as easy and lucky as Fry #(ugh fry darling thank you for being so easy..) #my art

digital drawing is so annoying to me 🙃 I think I need to experiment with a different approach because what I'm doing right now annoys me endlessly and it's so never-ending, for the end result to never quite look like what I wanted anyway. for example - I don't really like cel shading for my art, but somehow that seems to be the only thing I can pull of without it looking extremely bad. I want to do a more painterly style, but I feel like I don't even know where to start with that

#the problem is alsp that my digital projects are usually way too big #and it takes forever and i get frustrated #because i spend so much time on something that doesn't look quite like what i want it to look like #then i feel like i make no progress and then nobody seems to like it anyway #i think i have to focus on smaller projects and get the practice in until i feel more comfortable with my skills #and whatever coloring style i hopefully develop in the process #so that i feel more comfortable with bigger projects again #maybe coloring just isn't for me lmaoooo

#tristan rambles #it's so frustrating that i KNOW i should care about my art for me and not worry about the level of attention it gets #but there's still the part of me that just wants someone to look at something i make and go 'wow...' and tell me the details they notice #i guess i want to make something worth falling a little in love with. enough to make an impact and be worth spending spoons to talk about #i want someone to see a character design i make or textures/colors i use and go !!!! and share that feeling with me #maybe i'll get there and feel more solid in my abilities one day! i'm still gonna art regardless and make things that make me happy. #i want to keep growing and learning and i'm still excited for the journey and every step i'll take to becoming a better artist #but i wish it was easier to set aside the internal expectations and not have my joy at making something tarnished because #my brain can't let go of the idea that not getting enough responses/the ''right'' responses means my art isn't ''good enough'' #tbh the change in attention is unsurprising given i've shifted into more original character stuff instead of fandom. i expected it too #but the logical understanding doesn't hold up against the emotional yearning sometimes. and it's annoying as heck. #but it's also my problem and my own thing to unpack. this isn't a guilt trip so much as me wanting to throttle the part of my brain #that can't let go of the desire for attention to such a degree it's taking away from my enjoyment of the process #like fuck you my guy let me like things and feel proud without staring at the numbers/replies

She ended up cheerful and punchy (with an axe!), because she exalted when her Creation died and had lived her whole life in a dying world, and so was very fatalistic. She ended up learning how to live while punching due to her Lunar girlfriend punching along side her. <3
