#i HATE insurance companies and i HATE the laws around them #fucking vultures #context: Lilou and I are starting to look at houses #we are lucky enough to have rly solid income and my grandma saved up enough money for me for a v decent downpayment #banks will gladly give us a loan #HOWEVER you need to basically get life insurance to get a loan (to insure the bank against your death) #and it is LEGAL to refuse someone for a ton of pre-existing conditions #two years ago a law was passed that granted a right to be forgotten ten years past the end of cancer treatment #that's another two and a half years for me #so now we're trying to figure out if they're gonna refuse me (in which case two and a half more years of waiting #in a house market that keeps getting more expensive) #or if they're /just/ going to make me pay wayyy more money for the insurance #which would be an option but only bc - i cannot stress this enough - i have the privilege of being extremely financially secure for my age #INSANE #insurances are just a way to institutionalise ableism and it makes me SO ANGRY

around the same time i got into that marie kondo, get rid of my old things/sell them phase, my sister also decided to sell her old things online, but apparently eventually she ran out of her old things to give away, so she started just selling things she picked up from goodwill. i never wanted to complain abt it bc i felt it'd come off as angry-jealous-sister, esp when my mom really praises her for it (telling me how much money she's made), but today i went to take the groceries inside, and i saw she got a huge bag of old manga from goodwill and i was like 😡😡😡😡
